LARRY'S THOUGHTS AHEAD OF HIS EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH FORMER N.Y. YANKEES' MANAGER JOE TORRE:
I've known Joe for many years, and this is the first time I've ever known him to be involved in a controversial situation. I'm interested if he thought the book would get the kind of reaction it's getting.
I wonder if he has a double feeling about the book. Does he feel the Yankees betrayed him by offering him a cop-out contract last year? Does he think this book is betraying the Yankees, or is this getting even? Is this a double betrayal?
His comments about Alex Rodriguez are getting a lot of attention too. A-Rod is a fascinating study. He's probably the best player in baseball, but there are so many side effects to him that are almost unbelievable. I want to know what it's like to manage him. And what are A-Rod's true feelings about Derek Jeeter.
I also want to ask about Manny Ramirez - three months and no signing! And about the Yankees - what was it like to manage in that pressure cooker? And what are the differences between managing in New York and Los Angeles. Not many people have managed in both places - in fact I don't think anyone has managed in both before.

This might be one of the funniest videos to come out of the inauguration – keep an eye out for all the cameos! (one in particular!)

LARRY'S REFLECTIONS ON THE BATHTUB SCENE WITH JIM CARREY FEATURED IN LETTERMAN'S TOP 10. IT WAS NUMBER 1:
The tub was slippery. The scene was romantic...so romantic that I almost - almost, lost my heterosexuality. And to tell you the truth, I think Jim felt the same way. The lighting was perfect. The Champagne wasn't bad either. The bubbles were very...bubbly. All it lacked was music. Sinatra would have been nice.
The scene was somewhat hampered by having a crew standing around with cameras, and lights, and sound equipment. Jim did wear a bathing suit. I wore a shirt, suspenders, and a tie, which was a good stunt, but wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world. Try swimming in a tie and suspenders when the suspenders aren't attached to anything.
We both were wondering if this was a career-maker. Were any talent scouts watching? After we were dry and ready to leave, someone from the Letterman staff said "do you want to get back in the tub for some bump shots?" The answer was a rousing "no thanks." I just couldn't handle the temptation again.

Dear Larry, king of interview:
~ Farhafd Mahdabi
I couldn’t agree more – the word education is rarely used in political campaigns these days. The fact that we don’t concentrate on the education reached by our candidates is abominable. I salute you!
And Finally, here are my thoughts on the best sporting event in the world...I can't wait
The World Series gets under way tonight and as many of you know I am a die hard baseball nut. Even though I’m a National League fan and root for the LA Dodgers, I’m going to root for Tampa because I love the whole story of the Rays. And one of my sons lives in Tampa, which is another reason to root for them. I like Charlie Manuel, the Phillies manager a great deal, but you have to pick one and I’m going with Tampa in 6 games.

This weekend Larry hosted the first annual “Laughing For Laci" fundraiser for The Laci & Conner Fund in Modesto, CA.
Founded by Laci Peterson’s mother, Sharon Rocha, The Laci & Conner SAR Fund awards grants to search and rescue organizations across the country that pay for everything from GPS equipment to radios, computers and diving gear. The organization has raised almost $200,000 and given money to 37 organizations in 10 different states.
The event featured performances from comedians such as Wendy Liebman, Jeff Caldwell and Colin & Brad from "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" Laci's family says that she loved comedy, and felt it would be fitting to honor her with a comedy show.
Sharon was a frequent guest on our show throughout the search for her daughter, as well as the trial and conviction of Laci's husband, Scott Peterson.
