Cyrstal Bowersox always wanted to fix her teeth

Crystal Bowersox set the Twitter-verse abuzz recently when she posted a picture of her smile, showing off brand new pearly whites.

“It was something I’ve always wanted to do,” the Idol runner-up told PEOPLE Friday at Good Morning America, where she performed with winner Lee DeWyze. “I had braces when I was young and I couldn’t afford to finish treatment.”

Bowersox, who split with her boyfriend before the Idol finale, had previously turned down an offer to get her teeth done for free earlier this year, saying that she was beautiful the way she was. Why the change of heart?

“I had turned down an offer that I thought was very rude,” Bowersox, 24, says. “There was a dentist that made a public offer — he didn’t contact me personally, and so I turned him down publicly. It’s not that I didn’t want to do it. I’ve always wanted to do it.”

Biggest question now for 'American Idol' – who will replace Simon??

Posted: 08:07 AM ET

(Via Peace FM)

So yeah, Lee DeWyze took the "American Idol" title last week. But really, the question on everyone's mind is: who is going to take over the title of most obnoxious judge?

Here are 10 suggestions:

1. I think Madonna may have the perfect combo of performer cred and hardcore honesty to get the job done. Her fake British accent wouldn't hurt either.

2. Neil Patrick Harris has proven himself to be a kick-butt actor, singer, and live TV host. Done and done.

3. Nick Lachey has survived boy band cult status, marriage to Jessica Simpson, and a reality TV show.

Bo Bice: I love what Idol’s given me

Posted: 03:01 PM ET

"American Idol" season 4 runner-up Bo Bice is back with a new album, a new baby and a new appreciation for the people in Nashville after the devastating floods earlier this month.

Bo’s new album, “3,”  was released last week and his single, “Long Road Back,” is being used to raise money for flood victims.  All proceeds from the single will be donated to a variety of flood assistance programs for people in Nashville as they recover and rebuild.

Bo recently spoke to us at the Larry King Live blog about his time on "Idol," why he loves it and how Nashville is doing these days…

LKL:  "American Idol" – it’s an exclusive club that you guys have been through...

Bo Bice: I was hanging out with one of the "Idol" folks this year.  A lot of us live in Nashville and you know that conversation came up.  There’s been a decade of "Idol."  Next year’s going to be the 10th anniversary.  Thinking about the big picture in the world, there’s only 100 people who know what its like to be in the top ten come next year. And that out of all the people that have tried out and worked hard there, I think that’s a really cool perspective on the true greatness of the show.

It’s nothing that I did.  I was just in the right place at the right time. I think the band – I wouldn’t have gotten so far without them being on the show. There are just all kinds of stars that lined up for me where I really give credit to the show and the producers who do a great job and the crew. It just made my job easy –got out there and pick songs that I love and go out and do my best to perform it.

LKL: I mean you must have had a little bit to do with it, too…

Bo: Well I mean I got to hold the microphone stand. [Laughs]  But it’s not really anything different than what I was doing 15 years before I went on the show.

LKL: But it’s obviously changed your life?

Bo: Oh goodness gracious!  It’s changed everything.  All the goals that I’ve accomplished, I’ve been able really do them plus a million.  From having my own recording studio and record label to doing the production myself with friends I trust who understand what I do and who I am as an artist.  The cool thing for me is that "Idol" has helped me accomplish more than those dreams I had.  I probably wouldn’t have been able to indulge myself had I not had the success I did from the show.

'American Idol' – Congrats to Lee, and adios to Simon

Posted: 07:54 AM ET

Lee DeWyze has been named the winner of the ninth season of American Idol, triumphing over judges’ favourite Crystal Bowersox, reported the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old from Illinois stole the show by taking the recording contract prize in Idols finale that aired live on Tuesday, with millions of US people casting their votes in what was judge Simon Cowell’s last ever show.

But it turned out that that it was  a closely call, when host Ryan Seacrest revealed that the pair entered the final show with just two per cent of votes dividing them.

Meanwhile, a lighthearted film package recounting highlights from the Cowell years was shown, and comedian Dane Cook came on stage to sing Simon Says, made up of the Brit’s barbed comments, and to crack a few jokes.

“You have the honesty of Abe Lincoln and the charm of the guy who shot him,” Cook told Cowell, who took the ribbing with a smile.

'American Idol' finale – who do you think will win?

Posted: 07:58 AM ET

from E!Online:

Tuesday's showdown between Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze for all the American Idol marbles was, as usual, part retread and part final audition for 19 Entertainment glory.

Each finalist had three chances to charm the judges and impress America into picking up the phone for them, the first round a chance to resing their favorite song from weeks past and the second round devoted to songs picked by Idol creator Simon Fuller.

Finally, the third round was for trotting out the tune that will be the winner's first single. And guess what?! It wasn't some corny "My Destiny" nonsense this year. Lee had to tackle U2 and Crystal was saddled with a song already recorded by both Kelly Clarkson and Susan Boyle.

So, for all intents and purposes, who already won?
