I don't know what to say about this guy

John Hughes   July 20th, 2010 1:24 pm ET

Larry, I saw your show about race and the Tea Party-where is CNN's coverage of the voter intiminidation by the Black Panther Party in Philadelphia which was dropped by the Attorney General?
Where is the coverage of the Black Panther member on video and his remarks: "I hate white people and you should kill their babies?"
Of which Dr. Mark Lamont refused to condemn but stated it was his right of free speech according to the Constitution on Fox News.
If a white person had made this statement he would be called a racist!
Why does'nt the NAACP condemn these remarks? Do only whites discriminate in this country?
No one remembers that a white man Abraham Lincoln fought the Civil War to free slaves and millions of whites died for their freedom!

Now you need to invite Josh Fox the director of
_Gasland_ on to comment. I was surprised that no one called in opposing natural gas drilling. The word out on how we are contaminating water with the way we do our drilling hasn't reached mainstream yet & it needs to be addressed. So please bring this story out of the closet. John Stewart did an interview with Josh Fox and that's how I saw _Gasland_. Since then I have heard a couple of people share their stories which tells me the word is not getting out & we're not making changes in the way we drill natural gas to save our water & lives. The word really needs to get out so people being offered money for their land get a heads up on the reality of it. Thanks.

How about that he knows the oil business as well as anyone and can explain the technicalities to us. Also he is a very successful businessman who knows what he's talking about. I think he's to be admired that he stays away from all of the political rhetoric and blame game. That's what's to say about him.

John Hughes:

The difference is that the Black Panther party is not a serious political force that has aspirations of putting a member in the White House. They are a militant activist group that has done nothing but intimidate and incite chaos.

The Tea Party is looking to become a serious political party. They are completely wrong for allowing the absolutely disgusting racism going on at their rallies.

How you can't see the difference is beyond me.

Larry King, CNN continues to dig and chew on the Democratic lawmakers investigations on what role BP had in the release of the Lockerbie bomber and YET thus far CNN has not exposed the lengthy direct influence by former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney who largely thawed out the rather bitter relationship between the West and Libya and met with BP's CEO for many days of behind closed door meetings prior to BP being awarded the US worldwide fuel contract. The Lockerbie bomber is released and BP is awarded the Libyan Oil leases worth Trillions of dollars. The 'ROLE' between Bush-Cheney and BP is undeniable and extremely lucrative for BP.

The question America and the News Media should be asking is what did Bush jr. and Dick Cheney get out of it personally?

@melly scott,

Check the so-called 'facts' in Gasland – there aren't many. How much faith can you put in reports from a town that sold itself to Dish Network? Did anybody bother to have wells tested before, during and after drilling before blaming the drilling indusry? Did you know that gas can occur in groundwater through natural means completely unrelated to drilling? Did you know that an EPA study conducted in 2004 found that there was little chance of groundwater contamination from drilling and hydrofracking? Do you know how long fracking has been used? That 'mocumentary' is rife with inaccuracies that were left in simply for shock value, and has been widely repudiated.

Thanks entirely to the utterly depraved and morally corrupt Republican administration of Bush-Cheney, America gave thousands of it's citizens lives, tears, blood, sweat and well over 1 Trillion dollars in toppling Saddam who had previously and repeatedly refused to sell China it's enormous Oil leases in Iraq.

Under Bush-Cheney after removing Saddam, China received Iraq's Oil leases worth many Trillions of dollars for mere pennys. The American taxpayers and familys that made all of those sacrifices, got hosed, nothing, zip, nada. The Bush Family Values in full evidence, mission accomplished.

He's the only one who does.

The natural gas industry was not the only thing thrown under the bus in _Gasland_, the EPA you cling to was as well. They do not regulate efficiently and properly and we suffer. Did you miss that part of the movie? It was there. Bad water is just that. This is not a political issue. It is an American issue. Would you like millions of people drinking contaminated water or do you want to be a hero and find an answer to conserving our drinking water? I chose to help my fellow Americans stay healthy. It should be that cut and dry.

melly scott   July 27th, 2010 11:39 am ET

@melly scott I just wanted to change the search engine. I support Josh Fox & when you do a google search I look bad. Lol. I want drinkable water & I want to save our streams. Brazil drills for natural gas & their citizens drink the water. I just wonder how that works safely and here it does not. Or are they drinking fracked water, too? I wish to be enlightened on this. Anyone know?
