Tonight on Larry King Live!

I find it awfully suspicious that these alleged telephone calls are released on a daily basis to celebrity websites. Now today we see a photograph of this woman that looks like she took it herself. I believe we are only being given selected pieces of information and this woman somehow is directing this whole show. If she really is a victim of domestic violence why is she leaking all of this confidential information to paparazzi before turning it over to law enforcement? I am not ready to make any kind of judgment against Mel Gibson until I see the whole story.

My thoughts are this: Shouldn't we ALL wait and confirm the facts before making any assumptions. The news and media alike like to throw a lot of "allegedly this" or "allegedly that"- yet, I want to wait till all the tapes have been analyzed and the police are done with the investigation. By tainting the investigation with all these supposed-ed allegations, we cannot truly believe in "Innocent till PROVEN guilty". The girlfriend could have "allegedly" tampered with the tapes and "allegedly" set the whole thing up if we are going to follow what is being "alleged" out there!!!

I personally cannot stand the man now–I just loved him in the movie "Tim" many years ago with Piper Laurie–boy has he changed for the worse. I hope he gets his just desserts!

Other free American taxpayer Billion dollar aid to Israel are even larger and intertwined with Israeli's military actions. Example 17 Billion free American taxpayer dollars to Israel for Israel to give back Golan Heights to Syria after Israel seized it during the previous war. Yep, American taxpayers gave Israel 17 Billion dollars to give that seized land back.

After his horrible remarks against gays and lesbians many many years ago, I began a campaign amongst my friends to boycott any project he had coming down the pike. His hatred and pure rage has since proven that I was right time and time again. He hates women, Jews, African Americans, gays, and probably the Tooth Fairy. I hope that this latest tirade is the final nail in his coffin. People keep throwing the words "mentally ill" around when speaking of this latest outburst, but quite simply, he's a bigot and a racist, nothing out of the ordinary; also not out of the ordinary, like many so-called "Christians", he's a paranoid promoter of pure hate.

Mel Gibson is an A-list actor! So glad you re-aired the 1997 interview, and this is the way people should see him. Looking forward to more great things from Mel.

I don't approve of Mel's infidelity or abuse of alcohol. Nevertheless, I still believe he is basically a good person, and I support him completely. I am of the opinion that Oksana set him up.

I'm on Mel Gison's side. Listening to the tapes, if they're ligit, sounds like he was set up. She's a gold digger !

Mel Gibson's body of work as an actor/director stands by itself. He is brilliant! I will continue to support him in that effort. The public display that this woman has made of private (perhaps manipulated) conversations is reprehensible and says a lot more about her character than his. Also, if a man Mel's size punched her in the mouth hard enough to do damage to her teeth as she claims, her lips and face would have sustained a lot more damage. I think this woman is simply manipulating the press and the public for what she was probably after from the beginning – money

I don't know Mel Gibson personally so I'm not about to judge the man based on hear say or what the media says. I'll tell ya this, He's a fine actor and I like his movies.

Admittedly, Mel Gibson appears to have a serious alcohol problem. His vitriolic rantings are all indicative of a troubled and desperate person who needs therapy and treatment. While I am shocked by the racial slurs and angry outbursts, I am not surprised that a person poisoned by alcohol (and perhaps drugs) does such things. What I am surprised about are the tapes. They appear staged. When his girlfriend talks, their is little inflection, even though moments before, she has been the recipient of out of control rage. It did occur to me that she was reading a script. Are we sure that it is Mel Gibson on the other end of the line? It also appears strange that these tapes are released like a tune released capsule to the media and the public. I do not excuse Mel Gibson for his alleged behavior or his vitriol, but I am suspicious that we don't know the whole story.

Trying to rehabilitate Gibson's reputation? Think I'll watch something else. I don't like abusers.

Mel has my full support. His former wife of 28 years said he never physically abused her, yet we're supposed to believe what seems to me to be a mean, vindictive gold-digger who seems to be intent on destroying him. I hope there's Karma and she gets exactly what she's giving out. Mel, hang in there...you have a ton of supporters out here!

Respect goes a long way. Mel Gibson has lost it privately and in the public eye. Perhaps he will look in the mirror, get some help and begin to regain integrity within himself and those that are close to him. Life is way to short to be this angry...with all those kids he needs to get a grip.

I have been so upset with all of the newscast, entertainment shows, for destroying Mel Gibson's reputation.... There are a lot of unknowns–who is releasing the tapes?–why do they sound like a script that is setting up the male participant as if for commitment to a mental institution? This is a man who has done magnificent work throughout his lifetime and now his whole life seems to be crumbling around him...his family, his relationships, his reputation and even his sanity. His position is a pitiful one and I want to know what has brought all this about. The facts as they stand defy comprehension.

I find these "tapes" kind of suspicious. Although there is no excuse for what is coming out of Mr. Gibsons' mouth, isn't it odd how crystal clear the ex is. It sounds as if both need some help, what about the child. What about all of the children for that matter!

Mel Gibson was a likeable person/star early in his career. I think, possibly, he is suffering from Alcholol abuse or drug abuse and he is going through the "don't want to be old" phase. He desperately needs help. Personally, I don't want to see him again in any movie.

Whether he can continue as a successful actor depends on him.

Look, every person in the world is a complex personality and Mel Gibson in no exception. What demons dog him or anyone else can never be known, even by those closest to us. I feel terribly sorry for the pain this man is in. He's so much more than this scandal.

One thing seems obvious to me: Someone who genuinely want to solve a relationship issue or any other problem in their lives, does not run to gossip sites with doctored tapes. I'm not saying she was not in some way victimized. The way she's dealing with a crisis she partially created makes me faintly ill.

Why is it so hard for everyone to believe that someone as famous as Mel Gibson can have a very dark and personal life? Being famous doesn't make you perfect. If he is guilty of a crime he should be punished like everyone else under the law. And he has a history of this kind of behavior.

He has my full support. As bad as he is on those tapes –
he was trapped. He was used. It is extortion and he is very naive . He is a victim – goldigger got him. He will be alright. He will go back to his wife to ask for forgiveness and help/ He is a good man. And this is what matters.

I am VERY skeptical at validity of these tapes, who & how they were released, and Oksana's "motivation & reasoning". It smells very fishy. Mel has anger issues, don't we all at times. We just don't have someone taping our private conversations for profit & fame.

Just wish the media would give Mel time to either prove this was not as it seems and whether he needs further help with his alcohol & possible drug abuse? If so then let him get this done and apologize for the many racial comments he made and find out who he really is? I think Mel's problem is a wife with out of control spending habit's .

A few years ago if I'd been Mel Gibson's Mom I would have been
bursting with pride – HOWEVER, today Soooooooo disappointed
that he left his wife after having such a large family (or did she get
fed up with his behavior and gave him an ultimatum?) It's enough
that he chose a younger woman – WHY did he bring another child
into the world – imagine the humiliation that child will have to bear let
alone his first family!!! Again, I am so disappointed that such a
smart man, good actor would go so LOW!!

I will forever be a fan of Mel Gibson. He is an amazing talent and with that talent unfortunately is imperfection. Yes, he has an addiction, yes he needs therapy and possibly medication. I feel this is not the end of his career and he now has to take inventory of his life and fix what needs to be fixed. When I heard the tapes I knew they were altered. Her voice seems to calm and fixed in comparison to what it should have been. I never liked the woman, who the hell is she? If she has a history of treating people like crap after they leave her, she may be a seriously ill woman. I would like to see the pictures of her knocked out teeth. I know abused people and I have been abused myself. If there is anything that we learn from this is that the truth will come out and it may not be Mel's doing. We are all responsible for out actions and this woman is included. I do know there are two sides to every story, His side, Her side and the truth. Mel has never hit a woman and this is an alleged circumstance. Until we hear everything, I do not believe her until the entire story is out. And let us not forget there is a very beautiful little girl in this story that has parents fighting for her. Let's work through it and make sure this little girl has the best of both worlds.

The audio tape is very edited. She sounds like she is in a studio. Her part of the tapes has been over dubbed to make her case. She pushed his buttons to get the reaction she wanted.

Mel Gibson probaby has an anger-management problem and may very well be an alcoholic to boot ... But this deal was a setup. A complete ambush. Anyone who can't tell that from the context of that call is exactly as gullible as that woman hopes you will be. Can you imagine ANYONE not involved in a 'sting' calmly sitting and listening to someone going ballistic on them like that? Could you possibly do it? Could you continue a conversation in soothing mellow tones while someone was screaming at you that you had no soul and they wanted to hit you with a bat? Give me a break.

Love can drive you insane. He left his longtime wife and children for this woman and she took their child and kicked him to the curb. He bet his whole world on her and she crushed him. And yes ... it drove him insane. To make her even more of a gold-digging louse than she already is she's now taking a snapshot of that insanity to use as leverage in her upcoming plans for a legal/financial gutting.

Maybe Mel is getting ready for the most important role of his life, being Mel Gibson. Most of us have the leisure of falling apart in relative privacy. This man is genuinely broken. While I don't condone what he did, I hope he's getting the help and treatment he needs. What he did is fixable and forgivable. He's given us many thrilling film moments. I think that Mel Gibson was taken for a ride. His ex-girlfriend I think
was out to get all she could get from him. She appears to be too

I find it hard to believe that while Mel Gibson supposely is throwing verbal insults or hitting this person, you hear no voice anger in the other party. I know if someone were to quarrel with me my voice would not be so low key, and in fact if that person hit me I would be shouting so loud. This sounds like a set up. The tapes are all Mel's voice while his girlfirend's is so gentle. Someone is setting Mel up. I feel really sorry for Mel. I love his work and feel that for some reason he is very troubled. I pray that he can get help and that once again we will be able to enjoy his immense talent. God Be With Him ! Unfortunately Robin his wife was the best thing that ever happened to him, and when that marriage ended, he began to go off the deep end. I have always been a big fan of mel gibson and that has not changed. I believe he has been set up by a conniving woman. I think he's getting a bad rap. I love you Mel and I love your movies.

I would bet my life that every single one of you have made some off color comment about another race, religion, etc. It may have been in your car alone yelling at someone that cut you off or joking with your friends but at some point in your life you know you have. As far as these phone calls are concerned, you can tell that this this woman is a huge gold digger. You can just tell that she is setting him up and know that she has to calmly respond to him on the phone. Normal people would both be yelling in a situation like this butt she just prods him to get him to explode.

Mel Gibson is a great actor and you can't take that away from him. Let this be a lesson to all of us...be careful what you say and who you say it to. Many people have said things in anger that they deeply regret. If Mel Gibson did say all those things, hopefully he will learn from his mistakes and get help to find out why he is so angry at so many people.

No one who knows Mel Gibsons work can deny his talent or passion..So why is everyone so confused to his response to a woman who capitlized on his fame and was smart enough to capture his passion for the love he thought he had for her.. I feel compassion for anyone who is enduring trials in realtionships and marriages. I heard one of the tapes of the rants but I find it suspect. It seems like it was doctored. The woman's voice sounded calm and deliberate, bating him. But also, I wonder if that was really Mel Gibson's voice. Either way, I hope Mel will get help and clarity on what is right and wrong as regards treating women with due respect and I hope he will find peace of mind and heart. He is still one of my favorite actors. He puts everything into his movies to our benefit.

She's the one who is messed up! Who records their conversations like that?! She is the one who needs help. She blackmailed him. She looks like she is on drugs all the time. I support Mel. She obviously knows how to push his buttons.

It is sad, when a completely illegal act (taping another persons conversation over the telephone without his permission) is broadcasted by the press without the wronged persons consent. It is obvious that the person recording the conversation is aware that the conversation is being taped. Releasing of the taped conversation is the responsibility of the person that allowed the taping. The news agencies that broadcast it are contributing to the crime. If the tapes have been altered, than the news agency is even more responsible. Because of the illegal act of obtaining the tapes, it is irresponsible for the news agency to broadcast it without the consent of the wronged person. Are news agencies supporting the commission of crimes?

I'm not buying what she's selling. She's poison & vile. I hope Mel's hollywood friends like Danny Glover and Julia Roberts speak out on Mel's behalf and not run away like so any fair weather hollywood friends who are too afraid to do anything that may damage their image. I am a convert to the Catholic faith and look to other Catholics for guidance and teaching. How does Mel Gibson's behavior reflect the
Christian, Catholic faith he believes in. I am curious what another Catholic would think about this situation. If Mel uses the teachings, prayers/guidelines and Sacraments of the Church he would behave differently. It's discouraging to see this from him. I wonder if he feels disconnected from his faith right now?

It appears as if the jury is still out. Personally, I am glad that there are so many on this site who are willing to speak out on his behalf. I realize that abusive relationships do exist and agree that possibly this may be the case but this young lady had an obvious advantage over Mr. Gibson in that she knew the conversation was being recorded and he clearly didn't. Even if you believe all this that is alleged, you have to admit that this young lady had the opportunity to present herself as the only rational person in the conversation and since she knows him so well, she knows just what buttons to push in order to get the desired reaction. I don't personally know either of the people involved in this dispute and I am not prepared to render judgement at this point. I suspect that at least a couple of the ladies who have commented here are personal victims of abuse and may be the more likely to put themselves and their own situations into this picture. As for me, I hope Mr. Gibson gets the help he needs as an out of control temper can be more harmful to the person having it than the person on the receiving end of it. I will continue to see his films and will not even consider boycotting him. As for those who will in no circumstance go to another of his films; thank you! I would prefer not having to be seated next to you.

Still a fan of Mel Gibson. Media is just making itself look bad. How about a little scrutiny of the gold digger. Mel Gibson made my #1 movie of all time...'Braveheart' a movie about love, honor and integrity. I find it hard to reconcile that Mel Gibson with the one who allegedly ranted on the gossip site recordings. I do not support behavior as evidenced in those recordings, but I feel there must be info we just do not have access to about this. Something happened, something changed in Mel Gibson's life if he went from the person who made Braveheart to the person on those gossip recordings.

I have never offered my comments on CNN or any other program, but I feel moved to say something with regard to the latest controversy around Mel Gibson.
Mel Gibson: one of the greatest actors and film makers of our time. I, for one, cherish his work and have been entertained countless times throughout my adult life with his films – Hamlet and Braveheart were my personal favourites.
I wish him well and hope he has enough good people around him to help him through these present circumstances. Put simply, he is a talent worthy of support and rescue, and I just hate how the tabloid mentality of predator mentality. How many of the gifted talent will they be allowed to destroy in pursuit of the almighty dollar.

Mel Gibson is a human being, a man of course. Through the years and as people age they obviously change. Mel has personal problems. We must try to look into the depth of the person and the reason why he has acted in such a manner. He may be regretting divorcing his wife of 27 years. He is with a younger woman than he is. He may be jealous of her and is oppressive. As a younger woman, she may be a woman who wants her own way. Aside from the tape, who knows what truly occurred between them.
I may have missed out on something but I do not know how Mel met this woman, under what circumstances and who she really is.
The woman's voice sounds so clear on the tape and his does not sound clear. As it is stated, the tape may be tampered with. I tend to agree with that.
This woman knew very well what she was doing when she taped his words without Mel knowing about it. She is a deceitful woman and out to catch him so as to get as much money out of him as she possibly could. I am certain that if Mel was aware he was being taped, he would have been doubly careful about what he said to her.
Mel may not be the type of man who has acted in such a manner in his home, be it in a different manner. He depicted that he was angry. When people are angry they say whatever may be in their mind and whatever comes to their mind. Aside from threatening a person's life, I would not take his other words seriously.
I am a West Indian of a mixed race, African and White (France), a light-browned skinned person. A few years ago, while traveling in the crowded Toronto subway in after work, in the rush hour, a white woman was reading a book and her book was resting on my shoulders. I asked her to please remove it from my shoulders. She later called me a "Paki". I said to her, "I will tell you that I am not a Paki." We know what this word means and what nationality it was directed at.
We must think beyond. Consider this, these racial rants are done in public, in stores, commuting, etc. Consider if homes were taped and broadcasted what we would hear and shockingly so, even by employers, employees, etc. Therefore, let us be fair and just and not be shocked at Mel's rants who appeared to be angry.
The world these days is such that I am no longer shocked at what I hear through the general Media. What I hear make for good listening and are amusing as well. In this manner, I can live a normal, happy and peaceful life.
Give Mel a break. He may need to take an anger management course. Most of all, he needs to return to his Catholic Christian faith to worship God and to practice his faith fervently. Mel needs a total conversion just as many people of the world.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said: "Apart from Me you can do nothing." Indeed! Many people have realized this after some falls and some very hard ones.
I do not hate Mel. Everyone of us are capable of becoming angry baste on the circumstances. There is good and bad in everyone and two sides to everyone, even criminals and murderers.
If Mel plays in a movie which I am interested in I certainly will view the movie.
Mel is no longer a teenager as we would say. Throughout the years he has had his experiences. He appears to be a man who lacks peace of mind. This is attributed to the type of life he presently lives. We must be compassionate towards Mel as we expect others to be compassionate to us.
Let us not lambaste Mel. Let us pray for Mel that he may be converted as we do for others. The world in general is in dire need of conversion to God so that we may be happy, peaceful, progressive and successful. I wish Mel all the best. May God assist him accordingly.

I am a woman, married for 31 years. In the marriage not always is O.K. The couple has to work out. The difference is that I am an ordinary and simple person not celebrity.
Finally me and my husband think that Mel Gibson fail into entrap and was very well planned.

I don't think Mel meant half the things he said to Osaka. We all say "crazy" things when we're angry. Of course it's possible that he's been under so much stress that he went temporarily insane. In whatever case, the man needs help. He is basically a good person. Maybe Osaka is also a good person; but obviously brings out the worst in Mel. He was wrong to strike Osaka for any reason; but I think it was in the heat of the moment and he'll later regret it. I believe he just wasn't thinking clearly and lost control momentarily. If a woman slaps a man across the face, nobody thinks that's a big deal. I really don't think Mel meant to physically harm Osaka. That's my honest opinion!
Mel Gibson a very talented and intelligent man. He might have said some of the things to Osaka simply because he has a flair for the dramatic. After all he is an actor!

All the entertainment critics who have already passed judgement on this man should step back and rewind. Mel made a mistake in allowing this gold digger to provoke him to the point of losing control. I am not here to judge him, God will, when the time comes. Something stinks here of a setup. This poor excuse for a woman kept pushing him way before she started taping him. Once she saw that she would get him to lash out, she started taping. She is not in this alone. She got help and was coached very well. She is too cool and collected on these tapes. The more he lashes out, the more she becomes provocative extracting further comments from him. Let's not forget, if there is a case here the government will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that these tapes have not been altered. The defense does not have any obligation to prove that the tapes were altered. Why did she give the rights to these tapes to radaronline.com, a tabloid website. She must have made a killing of these tapes, which they decided to release piecemeal over the course of a week. If Mel beat her or abused the baby, why didn't she call the police, where are the police reports, where are the pictures. She has already taken him for a lot of money, a house, and and a celebrity lifestyle. She obviously wants more. She's nothing, a nobody. Without him she'd have to go back and join the Russian Mafia. Mel has to make provisions with the court to provide support for the baby, but not without any custody or visitation rights. Then, he should get away from this gold digger and reassess his life, but do not agree to pay this women anything. There not married and he has already given her more than she deserved for the rest of her life. Like a lot of men, he was thinking with his Johnson and not his head when he started a relationship with her. Unfortunately, most men are weak in this respect. Get yourself together Mel. My brother is married to a (we'll just say foreigner) and she only married him to get to the U.S. But she has made my brother just that angry. When this all started, I said the media or whoever counts should speak to his ex-wife because I'm sure she would clear up the fact that he is not a violent person. I saw the photo of Oksana with the chipped tooth and missing veneer.
I didn't watch all of the coverage on this situation, but I am wondering why her mouth or face does not appear injured if what happened to her teeth was the result of Mel's striking her. From what her dentist has said, it doesn't appear that she waited until her face/mouth healed before she saw her dentist. This is very strange. Perhaps someone who knows better than I can enlighten me.

I have always and will continue to look forward to the next Mel Gibsen movie be it as an actor or director... He was so up, but I also believe a person can not make racist comments and not be a racist. He needs help and I hope he is ordered to get it because I don't think he believes he needs it. It is patently obvious that she is responsible for the release of the tapes directly or indirectly. The alleged assault occurred in January and it is just know being reported. Injured people almost always call and make a police report within a reasonable period of time. They normally do not wait seven months. Re-examine the ex-girlfriend's statements after their breakup. At that time she stated that she was surprised by the split and she did not hint that there were any problem with domestic violence. Clearly, she is hoping for a large financial settlement. For those that believe Mel has been forgiven too many times before, please read Matthew Chapter 18 verses 21 and 22. Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Sir, how often should I forgive a brother who sins against me? Seven times?" "NO !
Jesus replied, "seventy times seven!" I believe and support Mel Gibson.

Now, if us regular folks get put into this situation, the police would come arrest us after the District Attorney (DA) had decided to prosecute. This is why Larry King is showing this interview, the DA is trying to decide if they should prosecute Mel. So, Larry is trying to paint a good Mel and the tape's authenticity is being questioned.

Mel you committed a crime - punching a lady twice in the face with a baby in her hands is aggravated assault. You should be arrested and prosecuted just like the rest of us.

Also – I LOVE THAT PEOPLE ARE HEARING WHAT A RAGE ADDICT SOUNDS LIKE and yes, even sober ragers act this way. My children's father (divorced) acts and yells exactly like Mel Gibson – even stone sober – so I am thrilled that this behavior is getting media play so that the Perpetrators and the Recipients can learn that it is NOT OKAY. It is great for my kids to see people be incredulous that anyone would talk that way to those he loves. Their shock is very instructive to them.

I have never responded to any CNN blog or whatever...but as a Jew and I do not practice...but let's be honest...if this were WWII I were today, I would be shipped off to a concentration camp regardless...Mel Gibson is a bigot...but we all are to a point....he is self loathing and probably needs to be on medication...as I do . I think he has said these horrible words but I do think his mind has overtaken him. He is angry that his current wife is not the Madonna that his past wife was....he is sick, but he might be too far gone in a sense. He needs to retreat or he might end up in jail...he picked a poisonous partner...but this does not diminish that he was/is completely abusive.

Everyone should remember there are two sides to every story. We've know Mel for years, where did Oksana come from? Mel must have been provoked to say the things he did. He was obviously upset and most people would not act like he did if they knew they were being recorded. He thought he was having a private conversation with her. Everyone goes through bad times and this is unfortunately going to be a very public one for him and his family. I hope it gets resolved in a positive way. Good luck Mel!

I love Mel.. everything about him, his films his humor. I do not believe he hit Oksana and I DO believe she set him up, the recording on her part could have been edited in a way to make Mel look guilty, she was on a MIC in a recording studio or something to that effect because it did not sound like she was holding a small recorder over the phone that is for sure.
I don't know why she felt the need to make this public its not anyones business but Mel and Oksana. I don't care what she says she leaked it and if she didn't then her lawyer did. I think Mel's ex-wife statement to the courts says it all.
I would like to hear the WHOLE conversation now that Oksana made this public, I think she should allow the parts where she most likely pushed Mel's buttons and got him so angry, because she is not that innocent and only playing the parts where hes screaming is only part of the story.. I can admit that I have been so angry where I have screamed and yelled and swore and it was because I was pushed to that point but there was no one recording me w/o my permission.

I think people are so quick to judge Mel Gibson without thinking for themselves. These tapes are really easy to put on the air a little at a time.
The media can show pictures of Mel with tapes being released one at a time that can very easily doctored.
They both want custody of their child. She may want money.
There is much more to this story than people realize. If she was so scared
why didn't she take the baby and get out or dial 911?
I really am disgusted with this story and good for you Larry for showing Mel as he really is. A shy guy and a great actor.
I think she pushed his buttons and then "conveniently" got him on tape which may have been doctored. I think she knew what she was doing.

Funny that Mel was married for 30 years and no complaints about abuse. i don't understand why larry running this seg from 1997. more imprortant things to talk about.

I believe Mel became the target of the paparazzi and they were relentless. I think he took even more heat when he wrote, directed The Passion. I personally believe it was the most significant movie that ever came out of Hollywood because it was more than a masterful artpiece it had spiritual significance. It had an impact where lives were actually changed. I think as a direct result the powers of darkness unleashed with vengence greater temptations, and challenges.

I have never posted on celebrity or news blogs before. But, this story grieved my heart and for days I have been posting on The View. I have been trying to tell people STOP the lynch mob mentality. I am a video editor so I knew how easy it was to tamper with tapes, and then you combine that with all these "LEAKED TAPES" were coming from radaronline/owned by National Enguirer–the BIGGEST GOSSIP site there is. Celebrities like Barbara Streisand, Carol Burnett, Reese Witherspoon, Arthea Franklin, Jennifer Lopez has sued them. They have no form of authentic journalism AT ALL–they are a GOSSIP MAGAZINE/INTERNET Site. YET, the American people got swept into this SENSATIONALISM and it's first swell was a lynch mob mentality.

But, as time as been progressing people are now hearing experts say the tapes had been tampered with, and I bleived that all along. You can put any sentence after another sentence in editing to make it say something more dramatic!

I think Mel has learned a very hard painful lesson, and that the wife of his youth was a good woman, and he should have never let go of her. The fact she came and gave a sworn statement that Mel had never prior, during or after ever been emotionally or physically abusive to her and the children, on the coat-tails of him having an affair with another woman....speaks volumnes about that woman.

My prayer is Mel will embrace brokeness, repentance, drink in of grace, humility, forgiveness and allow all the truths that were in The Passion become engrafted within him, and allow him to STAND UP, GET BACK UP not in his own strength, or his own gifts & talents, but by the Grace of God-and continue to do amazing movies directing, producing, and acting. But, I think he first needs a season of deep remorse/repentance inside-and then that will be reflected to all.

I am not calling him any more wrong than any of the rest of us. Isaiah says–we all sin..and we all have. I heard a wise man say once–don't let your sins cause you to run from God–but allow them to cause you to RUN TO GOD!

Did you notice radaronline did report Robyn gave a sworn statement regarding Mel's abilities as a father? Doesn't that tell you sometihng about the sensation/goal/purpose of what they were trying to accomplish? You add that to–(this woman who claims he hit her baby) NO WAY if someone hit your baby would you then travel to FRANCE–no way–no how!!! Amother's instinct will always be to protect her child. I have been recommending people rent the movie "12 angry men" Jack Lemon did an outstanding role as the jurors met in a jurors room to see how many of their views had been tainted by their own prejudices. When i heard the first tape there was a line that Mel Gibson said that i thought i have heard before. I'm curious but does anyone else recognize that as a Lethal weapon line? It's when he said they look ridiculous get rid of them why don't you?

Who knows what this new problem is. Sounds like it could be a contrived conspiracy for financial gain by the woman. Have YOU ever been truly upset with a person in your life? Things happen. Also, from the tape I heard on TV, it didn't really sound like him. Will be very hard to PROVE in court who is actually on the tape in my opinion. I think Mr. Gibson is a talented actor. He is also a real human being with real human emotions and faults. How would you like to be in the spotlight for your day to day life? LOL Not for me!

@Monica - She probably is a gold digger and provoked the situation but, as a responsible adult, Mel should have walked away. Instead, he endangered an innocent child by hitting her and possibly knocking her unconscious. That is at least a five foot drop to the ground. The child could have died of brain damage.

@jane - So, it is ok for Mel to commit aggravated assault and endangerment of a child because he makes good movies.

@alice - Did you ever ask yourself why she stayed for 30 years? She may have stayed because she had loved Mel and hoped he would change.

At 80 years of age I' m still too much like a gullible teenager, evaluating as true heroes those actors assigned to play heroic roles. So, altho I was first inclined to grade Gibson as a "true hero" in his life, I am now disappointed to have to say how wrong I was and now would rate him as an anti-semitic jerk, at least when he is drunk. He should not be moved up any higher than he has now achieved, and possibly even taken down a few pegs as his true personality is revealed, weakened as it seems to be by prejudices,

I am inclined to believe that wether or not it is Mel Gibson on the tape, why is it legal for the popparazi to use any and all mean to spy on celebrities? Everyone has the right to expect privacy on the phone, in their homes, etc. The people that did this to Mel have shown no proof that it is actually Mel Gibson on the recording. As for the girlfriend, she seems to be less than a reliable source, but I am sure she is making money out of this.Mel has shown publicaly that he can be a drunken fool, but so have many of us. I agree with Heather Joseph that the media are vultures as well as Oksana(?) for trying to acquire some non earned equity that Mel sweated for with hard work for many years. Larry this was truly a refreshing hour. Mel Gibson remains a talented and brilliant actor/director. Why people and the news media continue to enjoy this current mess continues to shock many of us. He has for years touchd our hearts in his work.

The ongoing slaughter of words, his words, are evidence of a deep betrayal and pain. I would believe that many of us when and if ever caught going through a divorce of a 28 year marriage, the loss and failure of a new love, it's unexamined betrayal and custody of a new child would be deeply hurt inside. If our conversations with our potential x's were taped, I would imagine the words would not be good, yet hypocrites jump on board to defame him never once trying to examine the past character of the woman involved (Oksana). Condone his behavior...no, but forgive it, absolutely. He is human, and no less vunerable than any one of us. He should be forgiven and I should think people might try to wonder what Oksana's contribution to the demise of this relationship was. Mel Gibson has proven he has a family heart and a faithful wish for love. Why else would he have poured his resources into this woman, which I believe he loved.

Thank you, Larry....his talent and his future remains in tack in our home and we are sorry for all involved.

I can't believe how many people are just so in love with Mel and have decided that his child's mother is a "gold digger" who has "doctored" the tapes (I don't know how to doctor tapes, do you? How would she do this so easily?) I've listened to some of them, they are truly horrifying. There is no way she "faked" the rage in HIS voice.
He is not a Roman Catholic, he is a fundamentalist of some kind, a religion basically invented by his father. His father who is a known Holocaust denier – and Mel has never disagreed with this position in public.

He has admitted to having an (apparently untreated) bipolar disorder. He made anti-semitic comments to the police in 2006, and hideous, shocking racist comments on the taped conversations I listened to with his ex girlfriend.

Oh, and he also says right on the tapes that he left his wife of 28 years because "they had no spiritual common ground".
In CA it is possible to use tapes that one party does not know about under certain circumstances. One of them is when there are threats made. Like when Mel says "I will come over there and put you in a rose garden", or responds to her talking about him hitting her while she was holding the baby with, "you deserved it".

As far as why she remains calm while he is screaming at her – as a woman, I can answer that. He's a big man, and he is in an out-of-control rage. She is trying to keep her voice calm to keep him from going even farther off the deep end. ANY woman who has ever been in a relationship with a rage-aholic man, sadly, would recognize that dynamic.

I think we have all learned from various other celebrities and their troubles that there is a difference between being bemused at a famous person's antics and the unpleasant business of truly watching someone go crazy right before our eyes.
And I think this is the latter. Mel is losing it, or has lost it, or whatever.

But I don't really care. He's got the means and has had plenty of opportunity since his first drunk driving bust in 1984 to get help and he's decided for whatever reason that he's not going to do that.

At this point I can't think of anything he could do that would make me pay to see one of his movies, or anything that would put money in his pockets. I can't even think of anything that he could do that would make me speak to him if I walked past him on the street.

He needs help. I hope he gets it. I hope all of you people who are here defending him and saying the press is just out to get him and he's being set up, etc, have all actually listened to the tapes. I also hope that you're showing the same amount of Christian charity for, say, Lindsay Lohan, who apparently has some similar problems (but has not, as far as I know, physically threatened or assaulted anyone).

I think this situation is complicated. Mel Gibson is a human being and sensationalizing these tapes is despicable, it is all about the entertainment value. It may be that he needs professional help, if so we hope that he gets it. As an actor he is exceptionally emotive and his personality complex. I think his girlfriend is suspect. Her voice on the tapes is very calculated and overly calm considering she was in an emotionally charged encounter. I think she goaded Mel and set him up. I do not get good feelings about this woman. Men can be physical when angered or provoked. The words don't mean anything-they are all part of our vocabulary. So what if he swears and calls names, big deal. If his girlfriend feared Mel, she needed to get away from him, report him to the authorities; instead she developed these tapes and then saw that they got to the media, instead of to the authorities. I think she is a manipulator and an enabler.

I would like to know how many people out there would like their worst moments to be taped and broadcast for all the world to hear. Really try to think what that would feel like. Most people know right right from wrong. I cannot watch anymore of this frenzy over Mel Gibsons behavior. I never thought he was an anti-semite, I thought he was into conspiracy theories-that's what they believe that the world is controlled and run by families who happen to be of jewish descent. It's disturbing to see people feed and feed on this story. I hope Mr. Gibson is with some good people. He should know there are many people who are supporting him for to be set up like he was is truly reprehensible.

How would we like to go through a continual one sided scandal every moment of our lives when the worst of our faults are showing. I should think it would be horrible. Mel Gibson needs to be embraced and grace should be his constant companion. From us, which would could never compare to the grace that is constantly extended to all of us, if we would but accept it from a Father in Heaven that holds us as the object of us his love, even though we are but filthy rags.

I also believe that in balance, we need to wonder what brought on his deep betrayal in this relationship and what contribution Oksana played in that betrayal. Something happened....his words are wrong, but I cannot see a woman traveling to Europe with him, signing a 50/50 custody split in front of qualified laywers and then pouring this trash into a public format. This doesn't make logical sense to me. If you are worried about family, your child you hold close these very things and never air your dirty laundry in front of all to see. Thank God that Robyn took to his defense. This means a great deal and we should respect her opinion and inasmuch as his wife of 28 years, who never steps into the public, has now done so it is powerful proof that something, happened that crushed him and lead him through the depth of darkness. I only hope he makes it and that those true friends now show their support and unconditional love towards this man. The jury is out on Oksana, whom we know nothing about, but if what is written about her past is true, then it does speak about who she is today. She was a bad choice made by a vunerable man.

I need to add something. My opinion is the woman is after MONEY. The TAPES sound fake. If they are not FAKE, they are the product of a conniving vixen looking for a big payout, by getting him on the phone and baiting him into a tirade.. Bottom line? MONEY.... That being said.. Our country is supposed to be a FREE country, with FREEDOM of speech given to all of us as a constitutional right. Regarding MR. Gibson's voice in the past on other issues. It is his right to say as he wants. Using a racial slur, is NOT illegal. Commenting about other races usually rendering a personal opinion. Last I checked, again not really illegal. Maybe not politically correct. The media blows all kinds of things out of proportion. Let's concentrate on BP, and other big business moguls who have largely ruined this country, and leave Mr. Gibson's personal life, just that, personal!!!!!

Mr. Gibson's work speaks for itself. He is a brilliant actor. producer and director. I enjoy a large part of his body of work. That in itself, though, does not make him a good person. I would like to believe he is. Should the allegations prove true and should the tape prove not to have been tampered with, then he obviously has some problems that he should seek help with. Too often, it seems, we have held celebrities in high regard, holding them to a higher standard than, maybe, we should; expecting them to be role models, only to be disappointed by their actions. That part, is our fault. Maybe our expectations are too high. Maybe we expect them to be perfect; to be something they are not.
This doesn't mean he doesn't have some responsibility for his actions and it would not excuse the words or his actions. That is up to him to address, and, if this all turns out to be true, I would hope he chooses to get that help.
That being said, we should look at one thing that this episoWe fode does, and that is to address the state of racial relations; are we really getting past some of the differences or are we just hiding our real views in public? And, I don't just mean are whites hiding suspicions and hatred of minorities, but, are minorities harboring those same feelings? Many European families came to the US as poor families who did NOT own or condone slavery; who were not much more than slaves themselves (does indentured servitude ring a bell with any historians?).
The past is just that. It doesn't mean we should forget it, but we should learn from it, try to do better today, and move forward. We will never move past that horrible part of our history if we don't address as history, realize that we are all in this together and build a better future together.

Her caps could have fallen off by biting into something and when she went to the dentist to have them re-glued back on she decided to have one more thing with her tapes to nail her 20 million dollars that she wants Mel Gibson to pay her. She has been married about 4 times, twice by the age of 22 yrs. old so she is not some young girl who doesn't know the ropes. A little blue eye shadow on the babies chin and a few pictures would really nail her claim for money or black mail against Mel Gibson. His horrible words are that of a drunk which there is no excuse but she could have made it much worse than it was. Also if someone hit my new born baby I would not wait to get tapes and take pictures. I would have gone right to the police and not waited 6 months to do it. Also she could of had professionals doctor the tapes. Who do you know that gets their house wired to tape their fights with their mate unless they are doing something shady. All the information we have received is purely conjecture. We do NOT have any facts. We do not know if the tapes are doctored/edited or not, or if she read from a script or even if it was Mel Gibson talking on the tapes. A major problem in the US is when people continue to make judgments based on a "belief system" and have absolutely no factual support! I am more irritated with the media for sensationalizing these tapes prior to a full investigation.

As an actor, he is brilliant. He spends 100% of his energy in delivering a part. I respect and admire his hallmarks. I will not stop watching his movies due to his personal issues... after all, how many on this blog have absolutely NO personal issues?

I love Mel Gibson despite any accusations. He is a life long actor and although his life is public what happens in his personal life should be left alone!!! I'm just watching the 1997 interview with Mel. He is a great actor and the interview is excellent. I hope that Mel gets his life back on track and the truth comes out – whatever it is.

I don't think mel gibson is as violent as the tabloids portrays him to be... we don't really know the truth bcuz we are hearing the whole story from oksana.. i don't really trust her anyways. she is doing all these for money and fame..

I love Mel Gibson and his work. Nancy Grace jumped to ruin him by dogging him on her show with no photos, no proof, and the tape she played was not Mel's voice. It was someone who was copying his voice. The tape was fake. I did not watch yet I was listening and that tape has none of Mel's vocal distinction, rhytham, speach pattern,
Natural pauses,natural flow of words. It is not Mel's voice on that tape. It is a fake. Mel is not speaking on that tape. There is a also a distinction of an accent that Mel never has used or has had. I will not specify which accent it is. The Attorneys will reveal that.
Mel is not a fake and I am happy to see him on Larry King. Mel is real and I am happy to see him on Larry King. Good for you Mel.

I know this is not your voice on the tape. Fight it Mel. There is no proof. I have seen no photos of you hitting any female and this is not your voice on tape so fight it Mel. You Rock! and Larry King Rocks!

I have listened to the tapes and never believe everything I hear. We are hearing mostly a one sided conversation while this so called Mother Theresa is on the other end sound oh so calm and sweet and well, you heard her.

This girlfriend is after money. She has a child by him and her main money making relationship is over. The women has gotten used to a rich lifestyle and does not want to loose it so she probally thought and thought and may even have gotten advice as to what she needs to do. Oh, I will make everything think he has abused me and build a case, what can I do. Ahhhhhhhhh hah. Tape him and try to build a case in my favor.

She sets her tape up, calls the man and begins saying things to him that will fire him up major time. The women has been with him long enough to know what buttons to push. Heck, you even hear Gibson saying you are not making sense and asks her why is she doing this and saying things that are way off the wall. We don't hear what she says before he starts ranting. we are truly hearing a one sided conversation. Do yah not think the man is being set up to look bad????? The women wants money and fame. Heck, she'll try to write a book before it is over with and she will be on talk shows which she will be paid for.

In a nut shell, people, don't believe everything you hear. Its a money game as most everything is. This women is out for herself and herself only. She did not care what she had to do in order to do it. Even if she gets no money from Gibson, she is still going to become well off. Wake up and truly smell the coffee.

His anger and rage reminds me very much of OJ Simpson.

I don't need to hear the tapes regarding Mel Gibson to make this comment: Since his making of the movie "the Passion” this man has & will always be the subject of criticism by those who opposed the release of this film & the conspiracy against him will never stop in all aspects of his life. I am sure that Mr. Gibson doesn't hate Jews or others; he just likes to see more fairness in this world & better safer life to our children.
Using women has always been a great tool to destroy successful men.

Mel Gibson is a brilliant actor and he is a genius at producing and making films. I always anticipate the gift of his creativity and the way I always find myself saying at the end of each film "THAT WAS AWESOME!". This industry.need a support system (heed the signs of a celebrity's life) this life is not as easy and glamrous as u

Every coin has two sides and we all say something in anger or with a few drinks too many that we would like to forget. If someone would records all that, cut it nicely to a maximum effect to make you look like a monster, how would you react?
I assume Mel got a golddigger in return for giving up a good wife and he is desparate. This happens to a lot of men in their 50s and 60s, who want a much too young woman and they all end up paying dearly for such stupidity. Those babes are golddigers, they do not marry them for love, but for a lot of $$$$$$, payable for the rest of their life!!!!

I enjoy Mel for his good acting and talented direction of excellent films, and let his private life alone.
You all should do the same, in your own life there are skeletons in the closet, take care of those.

That women is so calm on the tape's because she's getting what she want's , she really give,s NO reaction to anything' mel say's.and when a person is in that kind of state,well no reaction, then you get a bigger reaction,and that ,is exactly what happend TO MEL. A normal person if been spoken to like that ,would hang up before it got that far.SHE READ MEL LIKE A BOOK.AND INSIDE SHE WAS PROBABLY SAYING,boy oh boy have i got you now,tape tape tape,money in the bank, and people feeling sorry for me.because in my head ive made him say something that can be considerd battery.and probably the person that's standing next to her is giving her thumbs up and a high five .Who called who,and why/ and what was said or done to make mel so mad in the first place.

I don't think you can compare a televised interview with what is going on now. I was offended because I was a victim of this same kind of abuse and this interview made Mel Gibson look so charming. My ex had this same charming side and the other side was a monster. The message you sent to me was if you're famous or have alot of money, nobody is going to believe the victim or really care.

Question Larry: After examining the life of Mel Gibson.. How different is the actor form the real person? Who is the real person?

Well there has been a lot of comments and feed back given on Mel Gibson. I never knew the real Mel Gibson.. I know of the actor.. And there has to be someone out there that's know Mel all his life that has an idea who the real Mel is. Mel will always be a great actor. Just like Tiger Woods was a great gold player. And Ali was a great fighter. Of course hearing what he said even as they say if you take into account that he was framed to some extend and not his regular self. It's still SAD. And why he would filter all this stuff in this way may relate to the real person or the real person have as they say issues. I hate the word issues because it sound so superficial. He has regrets and probably having gone through some stress he is handling things wrong and let life & peoples get the better of him.

He's not a loser because he's a successful actor. But Larry..

Anyways it's sad because I always thought of Mel's public images as a sort of Rock Hudson or even Cary Grant. Not someone besides him self so this is SAD and I hope things work out for the better.

Mel Gibson was once called by People magazine, 'The sexist Man Alive" and I do believe that still is to this day. All his problems have been displayed for all to see, unfair....have we forgotten all the wonderful movies this man has made, Braveheart, Forever Young, Lethal Weapon, Air America....and many more....
Those recordings of his outrage is something that the world should never have heard....where is ones privacy? To judge him for this is unfair...what do we really know about this woman who recorded him at this worse...sneaky....Mel may say he has no friends, but if we take a look at the fellow actors who played by his side, Anthony Hopkins, Julia Roberts, Danny Glover, Kirt Russel, Goldie, if they speak up and give us a little understanding of who Mel really is, then maybe we wouldn't judge him so harshly.
Is Whoopie the only true frend to speak out and then get blasted for do so....I will do my part has a fan and watch all his movies over and over.......and the next movie his makes, I will be first in line....and it should be something light and funny...I wish Mel all the luck and hope he gets out of this alive and no jail time....thank you

The tapes leave alot of questions unanswered on the professional and personal life of both actors. As an actor, it's obvious that he filmed "Lethal Weapon 1". What has she filmed? How did he support her professionally? Did he help her professionally?

Personally, did she value the family? Was he committed to her personally? If so, how did the profession interfere in the personal relationship?

The tapes imply a personal relationship in which he appeared committed to the personal relationship. The indication is that professionally he was a hypocrite. The missing information is the lack of information on the professional relationship the two had to one another. What was the professional, Hollywood role each played in one another's careers?

Once this info. is provided, one can better understand the position that each person holds to one another today in relationship to the other in their profession and personal opposition to one another.

I think that his girlfriend tried very hard to set him up with these tapes. I would have no trouble believing that she tried to blackmail him for a large sum of money with the tapes.
I hope she is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for the crimes that she has committed against Mr. Gibson. What he says and how angry he becomes in private when his buttons are pushed by a greedy baby mamma is none of our business.

The reason I am so harsh on Mel is that he isn't taking responsibility for his actions. The police and judge were trying their best with the legal tools they had to get the point across to Mel during that DUI episode. The authorities see this type of persona all the time and they could only do their best.

And now, Mel has graduated from a DUI to an aggravated assault and endangerment of a child charge. I mean, if he was in his twenties, I would be much more understanding but he's in his fifties and still doing this.

Mel you gotta let it go, whatever you are angry about, let it go - the only reason it affects you is because you are letting it - the past is over, bury it in a grave and move on with your life - yes, the world isn't great and you can only do so much in a lifetime - life is short and you are coming to the end real soon, just as I, now be happy and enjoy what you have, which is fame and fortune.

There were some forebodings of the things to come if ya listen to all the details and nuances of his responses.

I prefer to remember him this way... a pleasant, handsome and well spoken guy. He had a sense of humor and a good vocabulary. A far been vocabulary than he has now, apparently.

firstly let me start off by saying Mel Gibson is an awesome artist. a great director, an actor with superb charisma. the way he is being dragged through the mud now about something that is happenning in his personal life is apalling,not to mention the fact that this whole thing is such a one-sided, biased, distorted view on the situation, and on him.

this woman is so obviously an opportunist,(I mean everyone in the business knows and are aware of the hundreds that hang around in the fringes of hollywood society,trying to get noticed, so they can "use" famous people for their own ulterior motives.) and who is, and will use this whole affair to ultimately extort him.
the media, as Mel Gibson himself said is "rephrensible". they will simply look at it with blinders on and maintain a narrowminded, unwise take on it, and sit there an engage in "mel-bashing" every morning and night.
has it ever occured to all these people that this woman set him up, and is quite obviously using Mel for his money and status right from the start and maybe Mel's "rant" had it's roots there? ever thought of giving the poor guy a chance and look at this whole sordid mess from his point of view??

the sad truth is, everyone wants love, and wants to be loved in return, but for people who are rich and famous they are sometimes very unfortuante in that respect, because everyone wants them for not who they really are, but for what they symbolize. they are attracted to people like Mel,for their larger than life persona, (and not to mention the fact he is richer than God!!!) and not one bit for themselves. and it is not long before their real motives become very evident and hence follows the dissapointment and the anger and the frustration..

but the problem is no one cares. the tabloids just want to find someone to crucify on a regular basis.

i and many other fans like me wish Mel Gibson all the best and a talented man like him will ultimately emerge unscathed.
i wish he had stayed with his true life partner, his wife for many years, who was there when he was just starting out, when he wasn't THE Mel Gibson that he is today. now that's a woman to be cherished! it is truly sad, that even after so many years of marriage,it did not ultimatley stand the test of time. But it is wonderful that she is defending him now in the wake of all of this.

Just wanted to say thanks Larry – I think I missed the major show on Mel. But I caught some of it. Yeah I don't think the other actors came out yet because this is unfolding and it may make things worst. Yes it's sort of is unfair that it comes out in public. Like this. How many people say things behind close doors and you never hear what they are saying. Yes privacy has been compromised. It's not the first time. Yesterday they had even worst thing on tape C.N.N that Mel may have said. Have to us "May" because it's not confirmed. There is no telling if in fact he did say it if he was drunk, on medication, or what ever. You know when something is taken out of context (WE WERE NOT THERE)! It may actually sound a lot worst than what it really was. And of course it may be what it is.

I lived in a abusive marriage for 10 years, I delt with many abusive phone call and txt msg from my ex husband none of which I could stay calm and just let him abuse me and call me names, I know some men treat women badly, but they for the most part also have a history of it with many women and I can tell you if my ex husband was fighting in court like Mel is there is no way I would be trying advocate for him like his ex wife Robyn has, which I think speacks volumes.

Mel Gibson remains one of the most talented actor of our time & has given us many brilliant movies.
His woes started withe his Passion of Christ which got him into trouble with those phobics who see an anti-semitic lurking around every corner. And those are some powerful people.

That campaign in my opinion is still continuing.

Can't believe you are showing this interview for the 2nd time when it has nothing to do with what is currently going on. I have to say, Mr. King, that you have let millions of abused women, around the world, down. Shame on you! Mel Gibson's attorneys must be jumping up and down for joy.

It seems that most of the people on this blog have missed the point: Is Mel Gibson abusive? Would they want to deal with this abusive behavior for the next 20 years in raising their shared child? Would they want their child in an abusive environment? If they answer yes it's ok because Mel Gibson makes great movies or because Oksana is a gold digger, I am literally going to puke.

I think Oksana did what she had to do, protect herself and her child, as a good mother should do. If nothing else, Mel Gibson is going to think twice before he verbally abuses someone again or maybe, he's not as brilliant as all of the other bloggers have claimed. There are only a handful of us that are sticking up for Oksana but there are thousands of women out there that have been or are currently being abused. I think it is disgraceful the way Oksana has secretly recorded Mel in the midst of heated arguments. We all have skeletons in our closet when we have spewed obsanities possibly under the influence of alcohol. Imagine if your partner exposed them to the world for your friends, family and work mates to hear. It sounds to me like she wanted to snare him, trap him then skin him publicly alive. Mel does not deserve this. There were other options and roads she could have taken. We can all think what we want about the tapes but ask yourself would you like to be recorded when you are emotional on the brink of a breakdown and with a few drinks. We have all been weak at times. It should remain a private family matter with legal advise.

Mel's story is the oldest story of time, "Wanting what you can't have", you know the forbidden tree".. It seems like Mel and many others, especially those how are given so much, feel that this lesson does not apply to them. They don't want to accept their limits, They don't want to loose their status. These people feel they are different. Mel has simply proved to me and others that we need to be grateful for what we are given and accept our limits, or go down like Mel and many others. In shame and disgrace as in Mel's case. Whether he is being set up or not, he is guilty of being a bad role model showing himself to be an ungrateful, self centered person. the real victims are his ex wife and children having to see him as somewhat of a dope.

I think that Mel Gibson is getting a raw deal. I have excamined and compared some of the lines he speaks in various recent films. One example, "Ransom." If you look at the lines he speaks in some harsh portrayals, you will see the very same words voiced on the tapes. Someone has cleverly lifted his harsh lines from films in which he is yelling and using foul language. That film and audio editor has spliced these lines together to make these tapes. This is a frame job all the way. He is vulnerable since his run in with the police last year. I hope you get some experts to examine these films and see that the same lines are uttered in the films. Quite a clever approach. However, notice her voice is flat and staged without any background noise. Quite a feat!!! Since experts now agree that the tapes were edited, a closer look and comparison to film lines is needed. Also, if he was violent with her, where's the 911 calls and the evidence????

This latest stunt was like the proveriable final straw. I think Mel Gibson is a great actor but it is at the point where I do not want to watch any movies that this man has made. There are so many sides of any actor's life. One that entertains us at the box office. Mel has done that many many times. Then there is his personal side. The physical abuse has to be campaigned against. Let us join to STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE NOW!! Expose its evils and stop criticizing the victim and focusing on some other problem – like prejudice and racism – as evil as they might be …. We can address all the horrible things in the story. While it is good that the police are investigating the crime, it will be good for more in the press to focus on the domestic violence more sharply and extensively.

And everyone has been opinionated at one time or another and should realize and may have experienced how hard relationships are, especially when they are over and involve kids. I think Mr. Gibson's recent controversial behavior is just a symptom of alcohol and/or drug problems. Does he have anyone among his friends and family that will tell him when his behavior is unacceptable? Or does he just have to wait to be arrested to get a hint that what he is doing is wrong? Because an "bad" man expresses his hatred for the tabloids, should we then see tabloids as good? I think not.

Regardless of Mel's alleged actions, he is absolutely right about the tabloids. Paparazzi, entertainment news, gossip and tabloid publications are all trash. They outwardly lie and violate the privacy of human beings. And their very existence insults the intelligence of our society. Stop filthy tabloid trash.

Tonight Larry had Mel on. From way back. That was a great interview and just like I thought. Mel was careful how he answered questions. Just as I though. Smooth like Tom Cruise or better yet.. ":John Travolta". I mean he was very manly, polite and younger of course.

There is a lot of talk about men and how they treat woman and perhaps it's true to some extend. But not all men do that. And sometimes it's a communications problem or any other number of issues. But woman could be abusers too. You hardly ever hear that. Lots of them seek out men for money and to be well taken care of. A man almost feels like it was his natural duty to be the provider as set by the heavenly father as such. But there are woman who are even richer and more famous than men. And there are woman who learn to manipulate. Probably because it's part of the conditioning as in men too but sort of in a different way. But at the same time there are men/woman who are not into that at all. But when that occurs the our come will most likely not be good. Men need to be more secure. Woman have to feel something inside prior to sex. men get carried away from a touch on the outside and then if they make the wrong choices and get a woman pregnant they pay dearly for years. We have all heard this before. It's nothing new. And it's a cancer really. Think about it.. When the children grow up the faults/curse gets passed to the next generation. And the next generation young people they will start to understand when it's to late a lot of the,. When your a ten sometimes you think you know so much. It's not under near 40
that you start to understand a little better and see things clearer.
Some people are lucky though. And how can your parents really get the point across when it's something most people find out in the phisical being rather than in a text book. You can read about one minute and be in it the next thinking .. How did I get here?

In some cases change will never come but if people really care and own the blame when it is in fact their faults then perhaps we can start the healing process and love one another the proper way. To some this is fiction but there are people out there that changed for the better and know this is real. It's easy to preach but hard to teach. Hey that myths.

Love is not what you say.. It's what you do... Love is not free and not unconditional. Well the love that we were meant to give should be unconditional but people judge by all sorts of greed and selfishness and that pushes it far away, This is a selfish world.. But there are some angels in this world as well. There are people of good character with hearts of gold. Not sure I convinced myself.
So sad for Mel. I never heard of this girl before. Not sure if any of it
is true to the extend she claims.

Wishing the best out come and ponder this stuff.. If only people could learn to love without greed and insult. We are all sinners. But we can change and make a better day.

Watching the interview from 1997, It appears to me that Mr. Gibson should be checked for bipolar disorder. It appears obvious to me. Why hasn't someone picked up on that yet. Which could explain some of his behavior. Not that that excuses hi behavior, but it could possibly explain it.

Mel Gibson is a wonderfully talented actor, and I am a big fan. I think everyone needs to step back from convicting him in the "court of public opinion." What we need to remember is that there are some women out there who take advantage of the fact that the minute any woman screams "domestic violence" everyone assumes that she is telling the truth and no one believes the man's side of the story. It does seem strange that if Oksana is putting forward the audio tapes and the photo of her broken teeth as evidence, that they are being made public before any trial has taken place. Mel have no doubt she's a calculating, manipulative user. I think her intention from the beginning was to get as much money from you as possible by any means possible. I don't believe the pictures of her teeth. If my dog jumps up and accidentally hits my mouth my inner and outer lip have a blood mark as well as a slight swelling. Where's her swollen or bruised lip? She proved how devious she is by luring you into an argument for the sole purpose of taping the conversation and using it as leverage to extort more money from you. I know there are many couples out there that have had nasty arguments and said vicious things to each other, but it wasn't taped and then played back for the world to hear and judge. She's a despicable excuse for a woman and mother. I pity the poor fool she targets next. Stay strong Mel and take comfort in the love of your beautiful family and in knowing there are more people who support you than you know...besides, her Karma won't be pretty!

Engineers monitoring the capped Louisiana BP well site which has gushed some 180 Million gallons of toxic, poisonous and carcinogenic heavy crude Oil into the Gulf of Mexico, today stated they are monitoring seepage from the sea-floor that is likely coming from the Macondo Oil reservoir which the Louisiana BP blown Oil well is connected to.

The Cameron team of experts originally determined the outflow pressure was 13,000 PSI. Almost immediately after the new cap was placed on it, the outflow was down to 8,000 PSI. I could immediately see the new containment cap was discharging less out the top of the stack than was exiting from the blown BOP riser originally.

What that should have signaled to anyone that was actually looking, was that 5,000 PSI of outflow was going somewhere else. Being thru a ruptured Oil drill pipe and casing into a geologic fault that could possibly lead to the surface of the sea floor resulting in venting.

AND upon closing ALL the valves on the new containment cap, the pressure went down to 6,000 PSI. Exactly 1/2 what the original Cameron team of experts had determined for the out pressure from this well site. That directly translates to 1/2 of 2.2 Million Gallons per day gushing into the Gulf into 1.1 Million Gallons per day going somewhere and likely ending up in the Gulf of Mexico after venting thru the deep Ocean sea-floor.

The mechanics of deriving the out pressure is very straight forward math plugged into the weight of the standardized mud mixture that BP had attempted during the 'top kill' operation to balance the opposing pressure. 14.3 lbs per foot of drill pipe filled with that specific drill mud material over the depth it takes to neutralize the opposing pressure to equal the actual out pressure from this specific well.

In short BP and Thad Allen knew damn well what the real out pressure was on this Oil well way back when the 'top kill' operation took place. It certainly wasn't 6-8,000 PSI meaning up to half of that gushing crude Oil is now spewing thru a rupture in the Ocean sea-floor drill casing and into undersea geological fault lines which likely lead up thru the sea-floor in venting.

She wants something she is taping all of these conversations she picks certain parts to record why doesnt she record the whole conversation. If we listen carefully that is what he says that she used him and that all she wants is money. He also says that she knows how to push his buttons I thinks she plays mind games with him. Ya Know, Many may not agree with me especially since I am a female fan of Mel Gibson's. I just am not buying his Russian Girl-friend's rants and raves about Mel. I feel the tapes are doctored. I hear anger in her voice as well, and I think she has taken him for a ride and used her mean spiritedness and spite for older suscessful men who may see a beautiful woman and think somehow he deserves her and she with low self control and mean spiritedness takes these men and ruins their lives by riling them up. I have a friend who is kind of like that. She never has had a boyfriend whom we have grown to love to hate. Kind of like how, and I mean no disrespect, Larry King's wife getting a divorce becasue he slept with her sister. Really? Who knows. I would like to see two interviews. One with Timothy Dalton about his relationship with Osana and his relationship with their son and how she has influenced that, and also I would like to see an interview with Mel's wife and grown children, because even though he probably drinks way too much, I feel he was way too trusting. I hope he gets sole custody of his baby daughter, and I also hope for a couple of private interviews, between the cps and Mels children and with Osana and Dalton's son. I still respect Mel. I hope he has better luck and taste in his choice of women in the future becasue I think Osana is totally wrong and should think about being a spincer and not ruining any more men's lives. I respect Mr.Gibson and his career. His movie Braveheart has left the a touch in my life. Also other movies are the master pieces that you may watch dozens of times. Everyone has problems in personal life it's just the question on how everyone bears them. I think all this Mel's problems are are too much media exposed for nothing. Mel Gibson is a great actor. I enjoy all his movies and look forward to many more in the future. As to "Oksana".... she knew exactly what she was doing. She is a "gold digger" and by getting pregnant she will get money no matter how it turns out. She had it all planned right down to the pregnancy. Since they aired the tapes a bunch of times.. The more thy are heard the more questions one thinks about. It almost sounds like they are on two different topics and like they say the tapes were edited. It sounds like what he was answering was some provocation on her part which was mediated just to raw him up.. He said "Stop doing what your doing".. In one of the tapes were he seemed really upset. But she was just talking calming on those tapes. And if she records the telephone why would she later go get a good microphone and redo her part. One could say she had help as the experts said and that a good system was planned. He parts seems "not-natural" somewhat.

Who knows what this word "Bipolar" is. Could have changed and adapted meanings from a way back. The problem is every time we see someone handling things the wrong way all of a sudden they are Bipolar . The words "Vindictive" , "Cunning" & "Con" seem to be evident in some ways. I am sure there are people that suffer from that condition/disease I guess. If the tapes don't fit they must acquit.
If something is digitally altered even a hair and they are digitally it's proof that they have been tapered with. And taping someone with out their consent or without a warrant isn't that wrong?

I wish Larry King would do a show showing power controls the media. That if people would research who owns a newspaper they will see that paper will have their political slant. But, journalism today is absolutely lost, and Mel's story is the best example of this. How did the newspapers run that without saying this is from a gossip site/known for WRONG facts? That is what shocks me!

And the media continues to go after Mel ! Im sick of watching this ridiculous back and forth and stories as to whether Mel's ex truly lost her teeth.

Mel, the best thing you can do and I share this having 20 years experience in the mental health system, is to step back and begin to surround yourself with people who can speak on your behalf and focus on bringing integrity and dignity back into your life. As I shared in my last post, your behavior isout of control but there is more going on than this recent media slam, than meets the eye. No one wants to come forward in the media to express their concerns about your life in general and how deeply sad you must feel having engaged in this loss of control. I believe that you are very sad and that you are dealing with enormous loss and grief about the loss of your wife and a marriage of 28 years. She was your best friend and I am glad she has stepped forward on your behalf. While you might have divorced Robin, I would imagine that you are still experiencing emotional damage as you have worked hard to move on from. but the damage is still there. She may have been a very stablizing force in your life and I imagine you are still working to get over that. Mel, You do not hit women. You do not stoop to such a level where someone can destroy your reputation as an incredible actor and directtor. You have allowed yourself to date a child and she has figured out a way to go for your juggler vein and you shouldn't allow her to create this kind of anger in you. If you are able to stop back and look at your behavior lately I think you know you have been out of control. My input is that you meet with those who love you and support you to get the help you need. Because you do need help Mel.I believe you need to meet with your therapist and look at what needs to happen in therapy with their assistance and guidance. With this kind of help your therapist might be able to get you to a place where you get the help you need to stand back and gain perspective. I also think that you might want to prepare a statement when the dirt and whirlwind settles a bit. As someone who has supported and enjoyed your movies it makes me sad that a 20 year old child who hasn't even developed herself emotionally has had the ability to bring this kind of anger out in you. What are you thinking? I also think that think that creating a plan is really important. I have never written a blog until this story came out. I thought to myself that this situation has the capacity to destroy everything you have worked so hard to have. If you allow anyone to interview you I believe that Larry King is the best in the business. He is kind and most of all he is not a rumor mill. I too believe that Mel Gibson was set up. That said however does not excuse his unacceptable verbal tirades. I believe he needs serious anger management treatment. Sometimes the person we want to see in front of the camera is not the same as the person in real life. Alot of support has come out in his behalf from fans and friends. Your statements are all based on conjecture. No one really knows what was going on in those tapes unless you are one of the “players”. And personally, this is the curse placed on famous people. God forbid, they act like the rest of us. Who in this blog is perfect? Who in this blog does not have problems? Why must we always pass judgment on another? We have no conclusive facts.

You are obviously very familiar with Johnnie Cochran's closing arguments in the O. J. Simpson murder case. "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit!" You must also be a star wars “fan” as this was also used as a defense for a mythical character.

Mel's mistake was in thinking with his zipper and getting involved with what is clearly a lowbrow, reprehensible, opportunistic woman. Many people say things in anger that do not reflect their inner core, and from the recordings I've heard, she seems to be goading and manipulating him in order to get a desired response. Hardly the way in which we treat the father of our child, regardless of how much in opposition we are to them at any given time (having been in that position myself, I know this to be true), and then to blast it to the media when there is money and child custody at stake. Why isn't anyone scrutinizing this woman's behavior? This child will grow up and this will be her legacy, because mommy dearest is hell bent on ruining the dad. What a nightmare for ol' Mel. I hope that he gets help for his anger management and addiction issues and refrains from such entanglements in the future.

There has been more tapes released lately. Now she is alleging Mel hot the child while she was holding her. And yes it appears that the acting is bad and the tapes were tampered with. Sounds like nothing is working to their satisfaction and so they now bring up the issue "He hot the child". That should do it.. How come child protective services/nor the police were called but the tapes are proof. His response was not even "No I did not do that". Seems rehearsed as they say. There was interesting data about her signing some papers and offering of a large sum of money she refused or turned down. They believe it has to do with the child support. She can get more in the long term perhaps. Just as someone said above the whole things seems very fishy. The way she went about it.

Mel Gibson is a father.. He raised other children and no one ever accused him of being a bad father. All of a sudden because of his rage or anger at this situation the tables get turned. Now of course
how do we now for sure who's telling the truth. Where did he hit the child? Was there any injuries? In the last so many weeks.. NOW we hear about the child being hit in "sequence". I guess lots of people are awaiting details to come out to clarify a lot of this. This is just SAD. I would think people that do this to men have no shame. They don't think.. "I'm bad".. It was said she would get some 30 million and then how much was it."largest divorce deal in British history." as they say.. This is what this is about.. Mel's brilliance as a director/actor help employ people and he does say she is a gold digger on tape.

Before this I never heard anything about Mel being any of the above things. How did he get here? Well we know that answer.

In respect to the great woman on the planet who actually deserve a man wealth.. Some woman actually deserve to be sharing the riches of a man. And I think it some woman were not manipulating and actually loving from the heart men art happy to give. I mean men enjoy giving. And respecting woman too. What they do is ruin your reputation and when they get away with it. Their lawyers tell them "You have been successful". Perhaps.. But the curse you will have to nurse for generations. I sincerely think when there is an economy that needs attention and an oil spill and all of this stuff the poor hard workers and soldiers have to go through. This is sad..

Larry why not do a show on The soldiers who gave their lives for their country. Their families and perhaps a show on the people who made a difference for the mass majority. The no names who help make the word a better place.

I sincerely hope this mess gets resolved and if it does not fit they must acquit. I think a lot of the reporting is "Speculative too" and people are voicing their opinions. which is what what they do and they touch on some good points but it just all appears out of the ordinary.
If sh is telling the truth why NOW. What about when it happened. Why not then. Why in this way instead of the proper way.

Hoping for the best for everyone... Even if she is telling the truth on some regards it's the way it's being done is not respectful to Mel Gibson. In this day and age it's no surprise that people use one and other for rewards. It's been going on for years but it sure has gotten to the point where increased and out of control.

I think Bill Maher should be chosen as Larry's replacement because
he is charismatic and he knows when to ask the right questions.
I know he has a reputation for being too liberal but the guy is super
intelligent and has a tremendous following and will be able to drag in
great guests because of his Hollywood connections. I know he is a
loose cannon (as evidenced by his stint as host on ABC's "politically
incorrect" show), but the guy knows what he's talking about. This
coming from someone who considers himself to be a conservative.
I know that the producers have someone else in mind but I would
strongly consider Bill because of his strong personality that he would
bring to the show.He'd be a perfect fit.

Wow Carrie you got some good point there. There is some news on site about Mel's many faces. Interesting article here on site. I guess as Carrie say's he has gone through some hardships. She seems to have pushes his buttons. Must not be easy. I guess after having so much and getting older and you loss your wide you end up putting a great deal of faith into the model girl friend. She may be telling the truth on some levels so who knows but the judge or people handling this situation will have to help resolve it. So sad in the end. And I guess some things were said by Mel that were not good. Not sure if a drinking problem, frustration or if he actually believes some of it. People say things they don't mean when the crap hits the fan. They vent their frustration's sometimes the wrong way.

I hope with all the problems in the world that we learn something from this. I hope that men & woman learn to respect each other again. Love each other. "Manipulation" is a disease it has brings generational curses. Loving someone for their inter being is a beauity not matched by any phis-cal beauty anywhere in the universe. Sure it's not easy to do that. If we can learn to act we can learn to love on the inside FIRST. There is one thing that can be done more than anything else. "Pray".

The zipper track across your head shows it only functions in one direction...closed. If Oksana was a U.S. citizen would it make a difference? If masterful Mel was not an actor would it have made a difference? What is more apparent, than hidden is the worship of idols and the blind faith we all have in the interests of taking sides, instead of observing and recognizing what is wrong or right..Mel Gibson should be answering to the same court as Lindsay Lohan and not the court of public opinion. What he did is criminal, threats of bodily harm, and his current spouse is the victim...End of story? Never...just another saga of the silly human race...

The story is much wilder than reported. Earlier this week, Oksana's rep, Steve Jaffe, told Harvey that Mel had described to Oksana a plot to kill Harvey. Jaffe said Oksana claimed Mel told her he was furious that TMZ broke the story about the anti-Semitic rant following Mel's 2006 DUI arrest. Jaffe said Oksana told him Mel had said he wanted the "blood of Jews" on his hands.

According to Jaffe, Oksana said Mel told her he had someone do "surveillance" on Harvey earlier this year, having him followed to the gym at 4 AM.

The plan, Jaffe said, was to "kidnap" Harvey, strip him, take him deep into the desert, break his kneecaps and leave him to die.

Jaffe told Harvey the story on the heels of complaining that a particular TMZ post was not favorable enough to Oksana.

We checked the "kneecap"story out and determined it was false. For starters, Oksana had the wrong gym. More telling ... Oksana never mentioned a word of this to any of her lawyers while she tried negotiating a $15 million package in May during the mediation, using the tapes as her secret weapon. One person involved in the mediation laughed, saying Oksana brought out every piece of ammunition imaginable to score a financial package, so why was this story mysteriously absent?

Oksana claims to have told the Sheriff's Department the story. It seems deputies took it so seriously ... they never even contacted Harvey to give him a heads up that someone wanted him dead ... allegedly.
