This lady and Tom Arnold would go good together .

Smith in Oregon   July 9th, 2010 9:03 pm ET

I would love to see Latifah roll up her sleeves and put it to BP over the Louisiana BP Oil gusher and the poor people across the Gulf States.

She wouldn't mince words, nor coddle BP like the hugely disappointing retired former Admiral Thad Allen. Queen Latifah would tell BP, and then inform the American Public what is 'actually' going on.

baybstr   July 9th, 2010 9:04 pm ET

Just Wright, is the best. I love all of her movies but Just Wright.. was right !!!!

Michael Armstrong Sr.   July 9th, 2010 9:05 pm ET

Your a really intertaining actor and I enjoy watching your movies .

Smith in Oregon   July 9th, 2010 9:06 pm ET

Larry King, ask Latifah about her thoughts on President Obama. How she feels President Obama is proceeding and all the dozens of problems the Republican potty'ticians have placed on his plate to do.

Rose   July 9th, 2010 9:07 pm ET

Queen Latifah is such an inspirational woman. I wish she would go into politics. Her calm demeanor and rational thinking is a model for all. Much love and respect for the Queen!

Please run for political office Latifah! We need you!

Ms. Eljoy   July 9th, 2010 9:08 pm ET

My favorite Queen Latifah movie is "The Secret Life of Bees"!!!!!

Michael Armstrong Sr.   July 9th, 2010 9:08 pm ET

Smith in Oregon July 9th, 2010 9:03 pm ET

Very funny and enjoyable banter!

NJ   July 9th, 2010 9:10 pm ET

The most recent one Just Wright was awesome. But any movie Queen Latifah touches in my opinion TURNS TO GOLD.So i love all.

Smith in Oregon   July 9th, 2010 9:11 pm ET

The IRS specifically also targeted Willie Nelson after Willie began supporting Farmers and State legislation which legalized Marijuana. Under a horrific Republican neo-con administration, the IRS can be one of the often tools of a very heavy handed police state government to squash who they see as 'political enemy's' or 'little people'.

Few American's know the IRS doesn't require any search warrants, their revenue agents can enter your home and business at anytime regardless if you or someone is present and go thru everything therein to obtain or support criminal charges or political leverage against you.

Smith in Oregon   July 9th, 2010 9:12 pm ET

@ Dodie, thanks and a happy earthquake free weekend to you also!

Tenequa in Atlanta   July 9th, 2010 9:12 pm ET

I loved "The Queen" in Set it Off and Last Holiday. She can easily move from thug life to the girl next door. She is AWESOME and I admit I look up to her even thought she is only 4 years older than I. She truly is the epitome of WOMAN! Oh I mean QUEEN!!!

Thank you for sharing your life with the world you are and never will be alone!

Sonya   July 9th, 2010 9:13 pm ET

I loved you in Taxi, with LLCool and with Steve Martin. You are hilarious on the screen.

Keep up the good work and stay grounded and down-to-earth.

Stay blessed

My favorite Queen Latifah movies: all are great, no special order: Beauty Shop, The Secret Life of Bees, Hairspray. All great.

Queen Latifah has a great view on life, it shows in her film, her face, and in all she does.

Dodie   July 9th, 2010 9:20 pm ET

@ Rose

Queen Latifah may be inspirational; however, what does she know about politics??? Much Love? lol I would much prefer to see Jim in politics than Queen Latifah.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   July 9th, 2010 9:21 pm ET

Chris Brown was entertaining and full of love joy and crap .

Brenda Jones   July 9th, 2010 9:28 pm ET

I am a sixty something year old great grandmother and I love Queen Latifah. She is deserving of her crown and she has crossed so many boundaries that people have put up and done so with the majesty of a queen. Keep it going, Queen. You are truly one of the deserving ones.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   July 9th, 2010 9:30 pm ET

Queen Latifah could be the next Opra .

Michael Armstrong Sr.   July 9th, 2010 9:35 pm ET

Im going to watch that movie tonight Bringing Down The House I need more beers .

Verna Cooke-Rishell   July 9th, 2010 9:44 pm ET

Queen Latifah has been an inspiration to me for years, as a strong woman who is comfortable in her own skin. She is one of the most REAL people that I've ever seen, and I so admire how she carries herself with grace, style and confidence. All hail the Queen!

PL   July 9th, 2010 9:47 pm ET

I have been watching the interview with Queen Latifah and I must say BRAVO Queen!! She isl very impressive, well spoken and prepared for this interview. She make me proud to be an African America Woman....Love Ya Queen!!!!

Michael Armstrong Sr.   July 9th, 2010 9:48 pm ET

Going to go out like Moma Kass .

INEZ NEDRICK   July 9th, 2010 9:51 pm ET

Wow!!! Queen Latifah could not have picked a better name for herself. She is a beautiful, talented, down to earth person who is just so real, and absolutely herself. She carries herself extremely well in everyway. I love her CD "Travlin Light". Queen Latifah, you are the "bomb" and continue to "work your area"! Best of everything to you, Queen Latifah. BTW, i'm a Jerzee girl, Red Bank to be exact 🙂

Michael Armstrong Sr.   July 9th, 2010 9:54 pm ET

Good night Larry and Queen Latifah may you both have a good life .

Melissa Canata   July 9th, 2010 10:01 pm ET

I just wanted to say to Queen L, I met her grandmother at her house in florida years ago, I didn't realize she was her grandmother at first but she was soooooo proud of you and lit up when talking about you, she showed me gold records of yours that you gave her and showed off pic's of you, she was an amazing woman and loved you so much and told me some cute stories and hearing how down to earth you are for someone so famous was really cool. I'm sorry to hear she passed. hope you see this. take care and god bless.

Melissa Canata   July 9th, 2010 10:09 pm ET

P.s. also wanted to say I love everything I've seen her in. she shines. both her and will smith are two stars who you can tell are just awesome down to earth people! thats refreshing to see.

jack   July 9th, 2010 11:48 pm ET

You are so right. Actors do not often make great politicians. I think you probably know that first hand. LoL

Dodie   July 10th, 2010 12:14 am ET

@ Jack

Ah, President Reagen was a great example!
How are you doing tonight!

jack   July 10th, 2010 12:26 am ET

OK thanks, hope you are doing fine. I am as fit as a fiddle and sound as a dollar. Wait, better not use the dollar one. A balanced budget doesn't look too close.

Joan   July 10th, 2010 12:30 am ET

Queen L – Rocks.... an individual to be admired and respected – I have great admiration for her and appreciated all that she believes in and does...... Joan

jack   July 10th, 2010 12:39 am ET

She seems like a fine strong woman that has a lot of faith. I only saw her in one movie, and she handled the role OK. Didn't think the movie was all that great. Thought it was kind of strained. "Bringing Down the House," with the great Steve Martin, a comedic genius , if given the right roles.

kATRINA   July 10th, 2010 12:40 am ET

Lavail Jones South Carolina   July 10th, 2010 12:52 am ET

best regrads
Andreas Weeke

P.S: sorry mey English is a little bit rasty

Mary Maude Henry   July 10th, 2010 6:35 am ET

queen L was not particularly articulate and a couple of times rather rude to Larry King, like who cares about her personal life????? Just a rather boring attempt to promote her inspirational book on the trials of being famous(yawn)
She should stick to making films and singing, her long winded sermins about herself were not worth an hour-never again!!!!!!

Ted   July 10th, 2010 8:41 am ET

Latifa, you are a sweet person, your smile is a million dollars worth!

Michael   July 10th, 2010 9:55 am ET

I switched over to your Queen Latifah interview right as she started discussing the loss of her brother. I believe she said something in regards to; it is how you respond to a loss or tragedy that makes you a stronger human being. Also that it was the hardest thing she has ever had to deal with.

Losing my sister to cancer and then her son, 3 weeks later was so difficult for me and I struggle on a daily basis. The little things mean nothing to me, such as material things, a smile, a hello, a kind gesture go so much further. Just try it and see how they make you feel.

Quincy G   July 10th, 2010 12:36 pm ET

Queen Latifah is a National Treasure. She is talented, smart, funny, and beautiful. A winning combination! I just wish more young girls and women would look up to her as a role model. She is such a creative and talented woman. She raly comes across as someone who is the real deal.....not someone who only wants fame.

Lindsay Barrett   July 10th, 2010 2:50 pm ET

The Queen is a true lady. Revolutionary in her ideas but circumspect and disciplined in her dreams,. i remember an indy film of hers with Jada Pinkett et al as a bank robber...that made me know she was a special motivator a long time ago. The other thing that blew me out was her comedy with Steve Martin. I would like to recommend a book to her called Song For Mumu published by Howard U. Press. I think she has the depth to play either the mother or the daughter if that classic ever becomes a film.

Dodie   July 10th, 2010 6:23 pm ET

fit as a fiddle sounds intriguing! So how is your bowed strings? lol

pat davis   July 10th, 2010 7:18 pm ET

Arnold Swartzenegger was the Terminator. What did he know about politics before he became govenor of California????

Ted   July 11th, 2010 8:41 am ET

@ pat davis

Nothing, but look how he screwed up California!!

Yvonne Collins   July 13th, 2010 2:19 pm ET

Queen Latifah, I seen her speaking on the Larry King Live show the other night and I would'nt blame her for not explaining her personal life or business to anyone because it's none of their business anyway. My favorite movie of Queen Latifah's is Bringing down the house and Mad Money and those are my two favorite movies I love to watch. I have the DVD of both movies that I watch on the DVD player. What I like about Bringing Down house because it's funny. Queen Latifah is one of my favorite actors and like to watch all her movies. I think that she does a good job singing and acting. Queen Latifah is very beautiful New Jersey woman because I know she likes to represent her own hometown alot which that's a good thing to do. I wish that I could meet Queen Latifah in person. I'm that Queen Latifah loss her brother so I do give her condoles for that . I love you Queen Latifah and I think you would be a great mother to children. Good luck on your Career that you are doing.

Smith in Oregon   July 17th, 2010 7:08 pm ET

Wow! It appears the United States National Security Agency (NSA) has unveiled it's latest ultimate snooping, invasive and eavesdropping tool targeting ALL Americans connected to the Nations Power-Grid!

During the utterly depraved invasive East Berlin era, the East German security forces discovered a very innovative mechanical means to connect to the city's hot water pipes supplying citizens heat radiator's which could be selectively tuned to eavesdrop and tune specifically into conversations in any residents home or dwelling! Using current computer technology, America's NSA has taken that to a new level of corrupt, invasive depravity with it's Operation 'Perfect Citizen' coming to your US Home soon!

The scope of the depraved invasion on American freedoms and liberty's in America's homes under Operation 'Perfect Citizen' is truly amazing. The NSA appears to have been given the 'Green Light' to attach NSA 'sensors' and 'computer links' to the Public Utility power feed-lines across America. This under the 'guise' of alerting the NSA against a cyber-attack upon a local Power Company's power-grid.

Americans are not universally stupid nor ignorant enough to even think the NSA cares about how much electrical energy Americans are using although in the past local heavy handed law enforcement agency's have targeted private individuals with heavy electrical energy for door busting marijuana searches.

However the vast number of American's do not realize how much information is received and carried already on the Nations Power Grid lines. Many home intra-net's now are using the power grid, metro-city areas are adopting intra-net and internet data processing thru home power grid's as direct tie-in's. ALL of the Nation's power grid operators pass messages, and ton's of information in digital and analog packet's on the very lines carrying power into your very homes!

In the most basic form, the nation's power grid forms a gigantic antenna array which picks up computer keystrokes and virtually all kinds of electrical signals which can in turn relay that specific information to the NSA under the 'Perfect Citizen' operation.

Sadly, this appears to directly go against President Obama's campaign promises of not allowing nor permitting further invasions of America's Freedoms, Liberty's and Rights which were entirely under assault during the horrific Republican administration of Bush-Cheney. Does this signal that like the CIA with Afghanistan's Opium-Heroin trafficking, America's NSA is no longer controlled by the Executive Branch of Government?

Sadly, this also signals that American citizens who thru alternative energy choose to 'go off the grid' will likely be harassed and targeted as unpatriotic and suspected of conducting unpatriotic activities.

Operation 'Perfect Citizen' illustrates the extreme height of paranoia in some of the dark, nefarious federal agency's in America much like East German security agency's prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

1KP   July 17th, 2010 9:13 pm ET

I love ALL her roles. She is so dynamic. Recalling hanging out @the Irvington Public Library after school. She with her BFF Shakim and me with my friends. She (they all, Flavor Unit) make me so proud!

Harriet Garner   July 17th, 2010 9:25 pm ET

Two fave movies: Chicago and Life Support. Queen Latifah may be private but she is honest and is building a great legacy.

peter greene   July 17th, 2010 9:30 pm ET

I always liked Living out Loud with Holly Hunter and

Danny DeVito as Queen Latifah's co-stars

Wayne   July 17th, 2010 9:39 pm ET

Watching the show...

Queen Latifah! is one smart girl an she's a pleasure to watch. Love the story how she got her name. She can rap, sing, act and she's got a head on her shoulder. I like her.

Virginia S.   July 17th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

Queen Latifah has a wonderful demeanor! Down to earth!

Wanj   July 17th, 2010 10:29 pm ET

Just had to chime in! First post here. I really enjoyed her message and I really hope folk do not get bogged down in details of everything she said, but actually take the message she has because it is outstanding!! She is one fine human being and I hope the stress of fame never taints her beautiful spirit. God knows we need a whole lotta kind & normal souls in this country

Stacy   July 17th, 2010 10:29 pm ET

Queen Latifah has always been one of my musical favorites, but she is a great actress and I admire how she uses her fame to inspire others in a positive way. She is always genuine and truly appreciates her fans and the people closest to her. She is a great role model for all women and I hope her success continues for many years to come...

Long live the Queen!!!!!

P.S she did her thing in Just Right!!!

Leslie Smith   July 18th, 2010 12:52 am ET

My favorite Queen Latifah movie is Last Holiday. She is such an inspiration. Being a plus sized woman finding joy in a world where it is said you have to be a size 2 to be happy is hard. But to see someone that can be so amazing and not conform to the worlds views is great!

Leanna B.   July 18th, 2010 12:52 am ET

My favorite "Queen Latifah" movie is absolutely..... "SET IT OFF"!!!!!!!

Ru55   July 18th, 2010 3:21 am ET

Brigitte Dzogbenuku   July 18th, 2010 6:08 am ET

Admirable...I love her outlook on life!

Ronnie   July 18th, 2010 7:59 am ET

It was so puzzling to see Queen Latifah share the most intimate aspects of her life (ie molestation, death of brother, drug abuse, etc) with Larry yet suddenly become angry and say "personal life is off limits" when she barely sensed that Larry was going to ask about her sexual orientation? Since when is someone's sexual orientation private? Everyone discusses it casually and openly except for closeted gays. Why is there such a double standard and is Queen Latifah sending a bad example to young women?

CBehr   July 18th, 2010 10:05 am ET

What a wonderful person – very genuine! Got Latifah – our daughters needs role models like you!

gerald Jolly   July 18th, 2010 10:22 am ET

One of my favorite black actresses, every part she plays lends quality to the movie.

IKHAN   July 18th, 2010 12:41 pm ET

Hi Larry,
Hi folks

Queen Latifah is a super entertainer & the best part is that she is so down to earth.More success to her.

@Smith in Oregon

You have pointed to the dark side of this hapless nation's war lords. No wonder we are sliding back to the age of inquisition, thanks to the forces of hate, bigotry, racism & extremism creeping out of the shadows to take charge, drumming up fear & paranoia.
Americans beware.

Kathleen Rocha   July 18th, 2010 9:49 pm ET

Even if the tapes are planned and she is setting him up, it is his voice saying those words. Why do so many people make excuses for him even if he is an alcoholic. He obviously said those things to her. He obviously treats women like objects for his personal use. Whether or not he is a good actor, he obviously has a anger problem. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR AN ABUSER. We have enough abusers in our society without making excuses for the famous ones. Golddigger or not she did not hold a gun to his head to make him say those awful things. Wise Up!

Gabrielle   July 19th, 2010 12:55 am ET

Mel was provoked and set up by Oxana. She is a gold digger. She does not love him, and he is hurt and angry with himself, because he left a relationship of devotion and caring, for the thrill of being with a young girl, and it has backfired so badly, he does not know what to do with himself. HE IS LOST, AND HOWLING LIKE A WOUNDED ANIMAL.

There are just too many predator women now....too many TAKERS!!!! WITH NO SOUL. Terrible atate of affairs. Mothers, lock up your sons!!!

North Bay News on The Hour   July 19th, 2010 11:03 pm ET

Troy Hurtubise is a Natural Resources Technologist and an inventor having graduated from Sir Sandford Flemming College. In his second year of study in 1989, he and all in the environmental college witnessed the Exxon spill her oil in Alaskan waters. Mr. Hurtubise started then, with a professor on an innovation that would hold the proper keys to cleaning up future disasters. 21 years later, the eccentric inventor as seen in Paramount Pictures, DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS finally achieved the daunting task in the innovation known as the O.R.S. – Oil Recovery System or Oil-Shark for short. Mr. Hurtubise's Oil-Shark can recover 126 thousand barrels of surface oil off of the water as well as return the recycled water back into the ocean at a 98 percent purification rate. All this every 24 hours at which time the Oil-Shark is shut down for 3 hours to have its blanket-system changed. Mr. Hurtubise's problem is getting those that can make a difference to take a closer look at his Oil-Shark that I believe will one day be mandated to every off-shore drilling rig in case of a disaster like BP occurs again. Mr. Hurtubise's innovation has already been covered in detail by Canada's CBC Radio. Mr. Hurtubise claims through extensive research and trial that his Oil-Shark will clean up the Gulf disaster in under 2 years time instead of the full generation most experts are predicting using todays outdated technology.
