July 16, 2010 Lindsay Lohan Hires Robert Shapiro as Her New AttorneyPosted: 06:56 PM ET
Via People.com Lindsay Lohan's new legal team will include famed defense attorney Robert Shapiro – the man who founded the sober-living house she checked into on Wednesday. Shapiro, who successfully defended O.J. Simpson in his murder trial, says he's agreed to represent the actress, 24, "on the condition she comply with the terms of probation, including a requirement of jail, imposed by Judge Marsha Revel," Shapiro tells PEOPLE. "Ms. Lohan is suffering from a disease that I am all too familiar with," added Shapiro whose son Brent died of a drug overdose in 2005. "Hopefully, I can be of assistance to Ms. Lohan and Judge Revel in implementing a treatment approach recommended by medical professionals for Ms. Lohan's long term recovery and sobriety."
