July 9, 2010 Cyrstal Bowersox always wanted to fix her teethPosted: 04:42 PM ET
Crystal Bowersox set the Twitter-verse abuzz recently when she posted a picture of her smile, showing off brand new pearly whites. “It was something I’ve always wanted to do,” the Idol runner-up told PEOPLE Friday at Good Morning America, where she performed with winner Lee DeWyze. “I had braces when I was young and I couldn’t afford to finish treatment.” Bowersox, who split with her boyfriend before the Idol finale, had previously turned down an offer to get her teeth done for free earlier this year, saying that she was beautiful the way she was. Why the change of heart? “I had turned down an offer that I thought was very rude,” Bowersox, 24, says. “There was a dentist that made a public offer — he didn’t contact me personally, and so I turned him down publicly. It’s not that I didn’t want to do it. I’ve always wanted to do it.” Filed under: American Idol Entertainment
