Police: Joran van der Sloot says he knows location of Holloway's body

Posted: 08:08 AM ET

Lima, Peru (CNN) - Joran van der Sloot told investigators during an interrogation that he knows the location of Natalee Holloway's body, but he would neither identify the location nor say what happened to her the night of her disappearance, a Peruvian police official told CNN.

"In the interrogation done to the Dutch citizen, he says he knew the location of the corpse of the American citizen, but that he was going to explain everything to Aruban police," said Miguel Canlla, head of the homicide division of the Peruvian national police investigative unit, on Thursday.

Van der Sloot, a 22-year-old Dutch citizen, is suspected of killing a 21-year-old woman in Lima last month. Stephany Flores Ramirez was found beaten to death in a hotel room registered in van der Sloot's name. Van der Sloot was captured in Chile and returned last week to Peru, where authorities say he confessed to killing Flores.

He was twice arrested in connection with the 2005 disappearance of Holloway, but was released for lack of evidence. Holloway was on a class trip to Aruba when she went missing.

We all know he knows the location of Natalee's body; he's always known. That he chooses to jerk the bereaved family around again, as well as the Peruvian authorities, shows what a subhuman piece of trash this guy is. He will only tell Aruba? And why is that? Because he's scared to death of the Peruvian prison system, that is why. He's hoping they let him back in Aruba where he has been coddled and let go to go on killilng women. Let him be convicted in Peru and serve his sentence in Peru and do not negotiate with the man who has proven, time and time again, that he is a monster.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these beautiful young ladies. I hope and pray that the reprobate Joran will disclose all he knows to bring closure for these families, and that he will stay in jail for the rest of his natural life.

Ann   June 11th, 2010 8:55 am ET

He's a pathological liar. He likes to tease and manipulate with his knowledge regarding Holloway's body. It's all about power and control. We know he is a murderer and we know he killed Holloway. Who knows if he ever reveals the real whereabouts of Holloway's remains. It makes him feel all powerful that he has something people want from him. I'd say, break one of his finger's every time he gets caught in a lie.
I think nothing he says can be taken at face value. He is mentally ill and needs to be institutionalized. I'm sure he killed more women than we know of.

Dorothy   June 11th, 2010 9:04 am ET

You cannot believe one word this scumbag says!

He is a vile liar, and I am sure he loves getting one over on everyone. He deserves a long sentence, but he has the ability to get a reduced one. I hope not.

JLB   June 11th, 2010 9:30 am ET

The father has died, but the mother is alive and should also be tried as an accomplice to Natalie's murder. Now thats what I cal Eurotrash!

Sandi   June 11th, 2010 9:36 am ET

In this case Joran's mother is no better than her son. The father used his connections and the Aruban judicial system to allow his piece of sh_t son to be free (justice was served for the father with his untimely death) to reek havoc to another family. The mother will suffer the same, and hopefully Joran will be used and abused in the Peruvian jail.

What goes around comes around.....the two brothers who were accomplices in Holloways death will get theirs too........hopefully sooner than later.

The women below are more than eloquent.Thank you Ladies.

simba   June 11th, 2010 9:56 am ET

The dirtbag will get everything he deserves in a Peruvian prison. An inmate will pay another inmate ten bucks to do do him in. Yeah! He gets what he deserves. Sorry, believe, "An eye for an eye." I don't think these are the only two girls he murdered. According to the news, there are two girls missing from Columbian casinos. As far as Natalie, he's pulling another stall tactic to get his butt saved. SCUMBAG!!!
Aruba, get off your duffs and get to action with his supposed information. Will it happen? Aruba is pathetic with Natalie's case and the poor families – both suffering from this horrible person's actions.
Will the Holloway's ever see the light of day with this psycho?

Karen   June 11th, 2010 10:31 am ET

I'm really glad his dad is gone, and can't get his sociopathic kid off the hook anymore. What goes around, comes around.

I agree with the other posters, don't fall for the ruse of "talking to Aruba police". He's had five years to talk to them and give the Holloway family their daughter's body back, and hasn't been in any hurry to do so. He just wants to spend his incarceration on a resort island instead of a Peruvian jail.

If anything, the Aruban authorities could travel to Peru and interview him. If he gives them correct info about the location of NH's body, great. If he tries to manipulate them to take him back to Aruba, they just ignore him. But either way, he goes directly to PERUVIAN jail. It will be an experience he'll never forget!

I hope he is incarcerated for the rest of his life.

simba   June 11th, 2010 11:30 am ET

I agree, he is stuck in Peru and he is not going to like his new environment. Time will tell . . .
It will be torture for "Pretty Boy." He has no clue what's in store for him.
He will not get out of that Peruvian jail alive. He murdered one of their people, beautiful Stephany. That is not going to make him a good inmate amongst the others.
Maybe, we will have Justice for Natalie and Stephany – finally.
Most sympathy to both families. Doesn't end. So sad!

This scumbag Dutch Jew killer and his accomplices Indian Gujarati pimp brothers in Holloway disappearance should be brought to justice. The corrupt Aruban Minister for (In)-Justice should also be jailed

ofelia yamaguchi   June 11th, 2010 12:12 pm ET

If Aruba police convict this scumbag in Holloway case,he should be in jail right then..So Stephany would not suffer the same fate! Thrilled that justice would be serve this time. Penalty must be served to Aruba too by not going to their country..boycott is the word.

anthony   June 11th, 2010 12:30 pm ET

Aruba is like Sara Palin, sides with thoes with the most money.I hope people or parents not to let their sons, and daugrhers to vacation to Aruba unless you can buy their officials.

Rudy   June 11th, 2010 12:43 pm ET

I 've noticed the guy doesn't look as tickled with himself as he has the last 5 years-

Darcy   June 11th, 2010 1:22 pm ET

The trouble with people like Joran van der he is not bad looking, probably on 1st meeting has a very smooth talking tongue, but once he gets you alone this sociopath's true personality comes out...then God usually ends in the victim's death. In Canada approx. 15 yr ago we had a young married couple who would abduct young girl's ...then murder them. One young girl was fortunate to get away. Even the female of the duo...fed her 15 yr. old sister an animal tranquilizer, watched while her husband raped her sis. The sister aspirated & died. This was called an accidental death @ 1st...then it was realized it was a homicide. The couple were somewhat attractive & to look @ them you would never have considered them murderers!!!!

ORO   June 11th, 2010 1:49 pm ET

Sorry Pal, you are going to know the hell in th earth. Did you see the midnigth Express movie. that is a resort 5 stars pal. sorry welcome to Lurigancho

ORO   June 11th, 2010 1:51 pm ET

Welcome to lurigancho pal, 35 years is not enought I Believe, he should be get 100 years.

simba   June 11th, 2010 3:09 pm ET

Scumbag has been officially charged with murder and wants to tell authorities where Natalie is buried. Believe it when I see it . . . Really sickening. Just put him in prison and throw the key away.. Let the inmates have fun with him. Sorry, for being this way, but enough is enough for the families. They need to be able to grieve in an appropriate way, not the scum's games.

Tiaka   June 11th, 2010 3:26 pm ET

With respect to the Holloway family I believe his Father probably buried her and saved his son from murder, now he's dead Joran van der Sloot has no one that can bail him out of this hell whole he dug...The thing is when you've gotten away with it once, you think you can keep getting away with it.

Thank God "Be sure your sins Joran will find you out"

jeanie   June 11th, 2010 3:31 pm ET

Joran is not mentally ill. He has a character disorder, probably narcissistic personality disorder plus antisocial personality disorder (sociopath) They are not mental illnesses.

jeanie   June 11th, 2010 3:39 pm ET

he does not belong in a mental hospital. Personality disorders are no more mental illness than shyness or being an aggressive person.

Liz   June 11th, 2010 5:18 pm ET

If the Aruba police would have done their job right, Stephany Flores Ramirez would still be alive today. I hope Joran's mother is sleeping well tonight knowing that she contributed to the young woman's death.

Terry   June 11th, 2010 9:15 pm ET

A few years locked up with Peaches the Love Machine should address Joran's social skills.

CAROLE   June 11th, 2010 9:50 pm ET

Kathy   June 12th, 2010 11:41 pm ET

Excuse me, but being a sociopath most certainly IS a mental disorder. You need to review your psychology books, if nothing else! And it cannot possibly be comparmentalized into the same category as shyness and assertiveness, as a "personality trait" This boy is seriously Silence of the Lambs me...that does not make me feel empathetic towards his cause. Rabid dogs need to be put down before they hurt anyone in their path, it's that simple. I hope they throw away his key and he stays in Peruvian jail.

Jennifer Thomas   June 13th, 2010 9:07 am ET

Once again he is holding everyone hostage with the information of Natalee. We all know that he wants a deal for this information. It's his last hope.

Jonna Christensen   June 16th, 2010 3:15 pm ET

Let the inmates cut his throat ,and let him bleed to death, END of story,Peace to the 2 Families and the rest of us,and his MOMsi, will suffer for the rest of her days...ME

Jonna Christensen   June 16th, 2010 3:18 pm ET

I really dont want to hear anymore about him,or se his Face, just let me know when he is dead, and then ,peace to the Families ,hopefull.

tom bedell   June 17th, 2010 12:39 am ET

Why is everyone so vicious? I blieve he should be put to death in a swift and humane way, if that is possible. Suffering the horrors of a horrid Peruvian jail until his throat is slit by people even more evil than he does not do anyone any good. I do believe in the death penalty, but lets not go crazy with it.
