Mirka Anderson   May 5th, 2010 6:08 am ET

Hello Team,
I have been admiring Larry for years – however, from the British Isles – and there is no option in your competition for this location.
Is it restricted to the USA viewers only ?
Thanks for great TV programmes – best regards,

I love the shows you do concerning UFO's. I would like to see you do a show on the idea about our Moon being Hollow! An artificial satelite, is it possible? Nasa claims the moon and our earth have a ringing sound to them.

jean   May 5th, 2010 11:37 pm ET

why can't you do a charity show for the people of tn. like you did for haiti? many poor people with no insurance need help in tn, not just nashville either. many other counties...

John Rossow   May 6th, 2010 12:41 am ET

It would be cool to have a tape of my father when he was on your show. How would i get that. My father Talked to you about the dangers of tinted windows and what problems it proposes for law enforcement. My father was on the force with Florida Highway Patrol for 28 years before his tragic death on October 13, 2002. Is there a way for me to get the tape??

Oquesen Johnson Jnr.   May 6th, 2010 6:22 am ET

It'll b a great xperience of a life time if I can get 2 meet the great Larry King.
NB: I've been watchin LKL since I was 13, now I'm 30.
If LKL could be transmitted live in d deepest part of Africa, it'l b UNFAIR if a Nigerian like me who watches ur show as if it is a food dat I must eat should "missing in action".
L.K, it'll be a priviledge 2 meet in ur time & in ur celebration of achievements cos I'v a jingle 2 spice-up this celebration.
L.K.L is an interesting & ioformative proggramme/forum which is a synonym of democracy, cos it allows one 2 speak freely on TV.
25Yrs! Wow Larry, what an achievements!
Hmm... I must be there!

Oquesen Johnson Jnr.   May 6th, 2010 6:41 am ET

It's a partial act 2 me 4 not being able 2 enter d sweepstakes...
Is this show 4 Americans alone? Becos, with these, I think it is!
But still, I LOVE LKL....
Happy Celebration!

kelly   May 6th, 2010 12:27 pm ET

Only 48 of the 50 states can compete (not Alaska and Hawaii, I am presuming) and your neighbors Canada and Mexico both linked to the USA by land can't compete either. (ALOT of viewers in Canada). Too Bad-it would have been fun!!!!

bi sama   May 6th, 2010 3:23 pm ET

LkL is a great program,i love watching it especially with interesting people like Celine Dion, mariah Carey, etc, stars in particular.hope it runs for many more years, wish the best Larry

Smith in Oregon   May 6th, 2010 9:15 pm ET

US Justice threw the book at Mike Tyson over a rape allegation and the woman certainly wasn't 15 or 16, nor was she being used as a sex slave for a pimp.

Is US Justice going to pass on LT? This is looking like a gross injustice against the American people that have been sent to prison for long sentences for the very same criminal allegations.

Was a rape kit used on the victim?

Was DNA collected?

Did money changed hands between the pimp and LT? Thus far in no fashion does it sound like the young girl went willingly to LT's room to begin with.

Thus far the only charge is LT having sex with a under aged minor. That normally results in PRISON time. There are allegations however of much more serious crimes in this case. Rape, Sex Slave, Pimp supplied.

I live in Florida and if by any chance I win, I go to LA and meet Larry on the set, and come back the same day I guess. I am not going to take a chance to fly for over 24hrs, when I can sit home and see him on the set in LA from Florida.

gerald Jolly   May 11th, 2010 8:40 am ET

My most unfavored time that I watched the LKL show was when he failed to announce he was getting divorced for the 8th time

I always thought that most folks would get it right on the second try

R & B in Oregon   May 11th, 2010 10:51 pm ET

By far, the episode with the highest impact, was the first interview with Mattie Stepanek. This is our write-in for all time number one interview. Everyone else was just acting.

Frank in San Diego   May 12th, 2010 1:09 am ET

I wanted to vote, but the name was missing from your list... Mattie Stepanek.

Hey Larry,

Congratulations on 25 years!!! I first watched you when I was little and my Dad was working in the States. But I have continued to be an avid nightly viewer in my native New Zealand. Was very excited at the thought of being able to enter for the chance to come and meet you – but its only open to American citizens. Larry!!!! Your fans are worldwide! Maybe you can rally the network to do an open-to-the-world comp at some point?! Either way, CONGRATULATIONS!

Jose Pulido   May 12th, 2010 6:43 am ET

Childhood accident? She was 17 when she killed the other driver. Tht's a teenager killing and it is called manslaugher. Nevertheless, she makes it sound that it was the other driver's fault when she ran a stop sign and killed him.
It is typical of the Bushes never to admit anything wrong thay have done in their life. She evades the facts and downplays the killing and switches blame to the victim just like her husband did for eight year as a selected president. She was probably coached by Karl Rove on what to say to Mr. Larry King. But she will carry for the rest of her life the fact that she killed an innocent person.

Jose Pulido   May 12th, 2010 11:23 am ET

Mr. Larry King, how many pairs of suspenders have you used in 25 years of the show?
And, can you mail me an autographed pair of them as a sovenir?
I promise you I will not sell them on E-bay.

Claudia, Houston, Tx   May 12th, 2010 1:29 pm ET

Happy to hear that you and Shawn are working to repair your marriage, that's great news. Keep loving and smiling with one another, we need a lot more of that in the World. God Bless.

My favorite and best moment of the LKL show was when he had JOE SHABOGIE for the full hour.

Fantastic show.

Nicolas Nibikora   May 12th, 2010 11:18 pm ET

LKL, my favorit best moment of you is the time you interviewed someone who I would like you to remember who and said " you have been inappropriete" on the national/international TV, Your journey book, was so inspiring, another one is the time you kissed a man and you said you will never forget kissing a man in your life....However I always watch your show and I really adore you, and respect you as a talent person you are. You inspire many of us and that is the reason why I keep waching all your shows... Happy 25 anniverary LKL. "Bonne chance dans ta vie"

AxeGrrl   May 13th, 2010 4:26 pm ET

Why wasn't Larry's interview with JODIE FOSTER mentioned as one of his most 'memorable' moments?

There was ONE moment that almost made me pee my pants! As we all know, Foster is an extremely private person and _never_ answers questions about her personal/romantic life. It's just a topic she never talks about in interviews. One would assume that Larry's aware of that. Anyway, at one point in the interview after chatting on a completely different topic, Larry, COMPLETELY out-of-the-blue, says to her: "so, do you miss being in love?"

I'm telling you, the look on Foster's face and the awkwardness that followed made this interview one of the show's most memorable moments 🙂

I'm ALWAYS hoping that they'll repeat the interview, but I'm guessing they never will!

Smith in Oregon   May 14th, 2010 3:34 am ET

There are thousands of miles of the American border next to Mexico and many additional thousands of miles of the American border next to Canada.

Unlike the Karl Rove and Republican-Tea Party civil and immigration war revisionists, there is no complete sealing of the border as attempted by East Germany during their horrific and extremely abusive governmental reign of terror upon the citizens living in East Germany.

Republican former president Ronald Reagan was applauded by the Republican party for mass immunity upon granting immigration to many illegal immigrates. Allegedly large Republican corporate donors urged him to do that so they could bust up existing unions and hire cheaper labor for their factory's which were then located across America.

Those Republican corporate friends have now largely moved ALL of their factory's overseas and now see cheaper labor as a threat to the products they produce using inexpensive labor overseas.

A great deal of the pressure to resolve the immigration problem stems on America's failed war on drugs whose legacy and historical statistics clearly show it is a absolute failure which has cost 1 Trillion American taxpayer dollars and clearly the violence and amount of drugs has increased since the Republican lawmakers enacted this war of terror upon Americans during the infamous Nixon administration.

1) Cease the failed American War on Drugs and return drug policy's back to the Medical Professionals and the Medical Community.

2) Grant sweeping immunity to immigrants who are able to pass fundamental immigration requirements.

3) Heavily Tax American Corporations whose manufacturing base is largely overseas utilizing cheap labor in country's that have little if any labor laws to protect the workers from abusive employers.

Currently there are fewer US Military volunteer's, I would think the Republican-Tea party leaders would come to realize that soon the wars they plan to execute will be sans enough soldiers to fight in them!

It would be entirely refreshing to have new manufacturing factory's here in America. Republican led corporations have virtually moved all of America's once extensive manufacturing capability overseas to exploit their cheap workforce, sidestep many federal taxes and avoid a great many labor laws protecting employees from abusive corporations. Rational Americans should actively welcome Hispanic immigrants into our great nation.

Smith in Oregon   May 14th, 2010 12:19 pm ET

The Racists in Apartheid Arizona are seeing illegal Hispanic immigrants everywhere. I suggest the Republican-Tea Party members lock themselves up into their bunkers for the next three years and we'll tell you when the coast is clear for you to crawl out of your hidey hole.

Arizona's residents are now widely reporting that police are stopping them while walking their dogs, stating their dogs are barking (no they are not) and demanding to see their citizenship papers!

Revisionist History spinners like Karl Rove and Republican-Tea party followers that are glorifying the horrific Bush family big oil legacy and the Civil War with it's segregation, slavery and inhuman treatment of immigrants, native Americans, African Americans seems to be entirely in vogue in the State of Arizona.

Much like the heavy handed cultural genocide upon Native Americans by the federal government for decades when all ethnic studies of Native languages, story's, hero's and culture were banned in public schools criteria. Apartheid Arizona State signed a similar law into effect banning public schools from teaching Hispanic culture, stories and their historic hero's to public school students.

I support and applaud the total BAN on the State of Arizona by the huge metro-neighbor of Arizona, Los Angeles, California.

Boycott Arizona travel, tourism, contracts, business's, products, services, and it's convention centers.

I support and applaud other cities and States across America in joining Los Angeles in a total boycott of the pariah of America, Apartheid Arizona.

There are thousands of miles of the American border next to Mexico and many additional thousands of miles of the American border next to Canada.

Julia Woodrow   May 14th, 2010 6:16 pm ET

From the Employment Development Department in California –
As of May 3, 2010, more than 101,000 claimants have fully exhausted all benefits and this number will continue to grow by several thousand each week because at this time, Congress is not considering adding any further weeks of benefits to the maximum of up to 99 weeks available.

This is just one state what about the rest.

Hi Larry:
Congratulations on your 25th Anniversary for your show. 15 years ago I was diagnosed with Leukemia and all I could do was lay onj the couch for the first three years and up-chuck. At the time we only had two channels and your show was on CTV. I became hooked and have been watching you ever since. So I was very surprised to see that Canadians were not allowed to vote. You take calls from us on the show, so why not let us in on the voting. It's not like your not going to be over whelmed with votes from us. Just thought I'd put my two-bits in.Wishing you many more years of the show. I enjoy most of you guest hosts also. Joy Behar is enough for her hour.
Sincerely, Ellen Pearson

@ Smith in Oregon

You are an intelligent person who knows a lot about most everything and I am ready to agree with most of your blogs.

However you wrap a good comment into an idiological propaganda not seen since the collaps of the sovjet empire.
One could think we hear one of their endless bashing of the USA and the capitalistic world, using words like imperialists, horrific, revisionists, racists so frequently, that they lose their meaning in the process.
We don´t want to sink to the level of Limbaugh and his friends, do we?
Besides, it would make your blogs more enjoyable and readable if you cut the propaganda out.
Just facts, Ann.

Idzan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia   May 16th, 2010 10:09 am ET

Tried many times to enter the sweepstake. But unsuccessful. I guess its because I am a foreigner.
Is it okay if you present me with a T-shirt as a substitute. Thank You.
I have been a fan of Larry for many, manyy years.

IKHAN   May 16th, 2010 8:08 pm ET

Hi Larry,
@Smith in Oregon

pertinent suggestions.Especially 2&3 reg immigration & taxing corporations. Manufacturing factories on our soil could solve a lot of problems plaguing our economy & employment.
I couldn't but applaud what you say to Repub-Tea Partiers for taking shelter. I would be more than happy to contribute for the bunkers.
Larry & folks we must be able to understand by now that even one more war would be our undoing, But this I'm afraid would be hard to explain to the intellectually challenged dominating the Obstructionist Party & the likes of Tea Partiers.

David Wix   May 16th, 2010 9:26 pm ET

Chase   May 16th, 2010 9:51 pm ET

Do you think President Bush would like to go fishing with me? I think yall are great people! I love you guys!

IKHAN   May 17th, 2010 5:47 pm ET

Hey Larry,
this nation has been led by its proverbial 'nose' by propaganda for so long, we need a reality check. I think @Smith in Oregon is jolting us back to reality.
For decades & before the advent of Internet, mainstream media, movies, politicians had their way over how we think. Not any more.
All thinking people now have access to info & hopefully form their own opinion.
Let me tell you an item from today's news which was not on our mainstream media.
Naom Chomsky, the well known & respected Jewish – American professor & writer was stopped by Israeli authorities at the border & barred from entering Israel. he was supposed to deliver a lecture at a University.
His crime, speaking out the truth & being critical of that govt's policies. Now if this news, which I think is rather big, was not available from alternate sources, people who care for democracy ,free press & such would have missed it.
So with the mainstream media controlling what we should know, knowledgeable people like @Smith in Oregon are needed to keep us on our toes & well informed never mind the verbal bashing.
Take care @Ted

Smith in Oregon   May 21st, 2010 3:00 am ET

@ Ted, IKHAN Thank-you for your kind comments and reading some of my posts.

I heard today Arizona is threatening to cut-off electrical power generation from its huge Palo Verde Nuclear Power complex to California in retaliation for California's boycott of Arizona over its State Immigration law.

For those that haven't seen a huge Nuclear Power plant in the middle of a desert, The Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station is located about 55 miles west of Phoenix and the largest power producer of any kind in the United States since 1992. Its three units are capable of generating nearly 4,000 megawatts of electricity.

Because of its desert location, Palo Verde is the only commercial nuclear power energy plant in the United States that does not sit on a large body of water. Instead, it uses treated effluent from several area municipalities to meet its cooling water needs, recycling 20 billion gallons of waste water each year. The Colorado river is plenty gummy with pesticides, various salts and chemicals as it runs thru Arizona, making the reactor complex in the middle of the Arizona desert very unique.

What Arizona is threatening could touch off a uncivil war between States and result in a very cold or chilled relationship between California and Arizona that could last for many years.

What do the CNN viewers and commentators think of this unfolding matter?

Dodie   May 21st, 2010 3:23 am ET

@IKHAN @ Ted

So refreshing to experience others who discern with clarity! IKHAN, you are always right on target. Our mainstream media is still backed by corporate entities; therefore, they cannot always provide information or news without some rhetoric or slant involved. The information we gather would be best from sources out side as well as within the US for balance. I often utilize Central China TV. We have been receiving a flawed worldview through societal voices that dictate how we think and reason for so long, I often question my conditioning! How accurate is the perception. By what means was the information gathered and from reputable sources. How much does our childhood domestication process affect our current thoughts? At what height is our consciousness?

Most Americans are so conditioned through societal voices, archaic thinking and beliefs, they cannot entertain a thought outside the tiny little box. I am thankful to Larry King for creating an arena; whereby, a few of you who post have enriched my experience and understanding.

@ A. Smith
Thank you for the continued blogs filled with accurate and pertinent information giving us all fuel for thought! You are my ignition!

Naom Chomsky a linguistic, was also very famous in the area of Cognitive Psychology. It is said that Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) came from the core linguist philosophies of Naom Chomsky

I have been watching Larry King only until recently and enjoy watching your show and interviews etc........ Long may you continue with the fantastic work you are doing.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God bless you and your family and CNN.

I think it would be a nightmare to try and open this competition to the world.

So my blog has been deleted, for what reason I dont understand.

Joe Shabogie, althought a convicted Drug Addict, and a convicted gun felony person, should have the opportunity to return to Larry's show.

It may be considered in bad taste because he wears a bandana on his head along with a beat up cowboy hat, but he does so because he has had surgery on his head from a brain hemorage operation.

So why the deletion.

February 2010 unemployment was 10%
May 2010 unemployment is 9.9%
Iranout of unemployment in february- 3months no income.
Please help tell congress to create Tier 5 extension.
Unemployment tier v needed badly
The stories are heartbreaking:
There's Rebecca, 32, who has sold her car and is sharing a house with her sister. All her money goes toward taking care of her 2-year-old daughter.
Kevin, 36, has 3 children and has sold off his car and much of his and his wife's valuables.
Donalee, 51, who runs the Jobless Unite website, will likely have to move in with one of her sisters to survive.
Tom, 45, has gone through his savings, maxed out his credit cards, traded in his car, and borrowed money from family. He will now have to try to sell his condo in a weak market.
Karen, 50, and her husband are both unemployed with two boys. They are too young to retire but now have to tap into their 401(k) plans to keep their home.
Micheal, 55, and his fiancée Linda are having a tough time making decisions about trying to pay the mortgage with a variety of low-paying part-time jobs or move into a trailer on a friend's property.
Joy, 68, is a breast cancer survivor but now can't even afford the $5 monthly payment to her oncologist.

Hi Larry.
G.morning folks.
thanks guys. This is indeed a much needed arena for people to come forward with their opinions , know how & take on whats happening in America & the world. Felicitations are in order for CNN,Larry & his team.
@gerald jolly@Jessie from Auckland are also regular contributors & interesting to read.
This intent on the part of Arizona to retaliate against California is indeed worrisome. We should be wary of what this could start? Can this country already embroiled in battling on so many fronts wars, economy, diminishing
political responsibility & myriad other problems , afford acrimonious relations between states??
A lot has started happening in a very short period of time which does not augur well for this nation. The stirring up of sentiments which had dissipated to a great extent thanks to the Civil Rights movement & inherent goodness of the American people which sustained & let that movement become a beacon for all humanity.
The malodorous fumes of racism, bias, hatred & fear now clouding political judgment on the part of incumbents & wannabees alike fanned by Tea Partiers,Wing-nuts, propagandists may well overshadow our political thought process altogether. Folks we could lose the America as we have known it.
What to do?
Well this country is ours we have to stand up to these un-American forces trying to destroy the philosophy which guided us all along. How do we do that.Come vote time & show them whose in control of our destiny , we the people or they!

Larry, could you please do a show on Madoff(NYC guy) who robbed from hard working people?, including a haulocost survivor. I wonder why you have not talked about this man. You have been very good in informing the public about such issues.
Thank you Larry.

gerald Jolly   May 21st, 2010 4:45 pm ET

@ Vincent.

Bernie Madoff, did not rob money from hardworking people.

The majority of his victims were quite wealthy jewish people that were looking for a huge peice of the pie, without much risk, "A TYPICAL JEWISH WAY TO GET RICH" no prejudice intended.

For thousand of years GREEDY people have tried to exploit the system, and that is why Bernie Madoff suceeded in fleecing so many jewish people that believed they had an inside track, which isthe ploy he used to fleece his victims.

Should we "REAL" hard working people feel sorry for "THE GREEDY HERD" who sought to profit by exploiting a "SLIGHTLY" insider trading scheme.

My take for the GREEDY INSIDE TRADERS, is let them get in the bread line and see how it feels to be poor, BUT AT LEAST HONEST. with INTEGRITY.

Smith in Oregon   May 21st, 2010 7:47 pm ET

For nearly 100 YEARS, America has known that internal combustion engines are very inefficient. Even with today's dual turbo-chargers and computerized supercharged internal combustion engines the efficiency of converting the fuel's energy to horsepower at the wheels is less than 15% (over 65% of the fuel's energy is LOST in the conversion).

Electrical motors are very efficient. Electrical motors average 90% efficiency in electrical power IN to usable horsepower at the wheels of a pure electrical automobile.

Republican lawmakers have known about the much greater energy efficiency by electrical motors for many decades HOWEVER they have remained major obstructionists in the needed upgrades to America's Electrical Power-grid (to 3rd. generation technology and distribution corridors) which is critically needed to fully implement mass conversion to purely powered electrical vehicles for America's mass transportation.

I have no doubt this heavily underscores the long lasting nefarious relationship the Republican Party has with Big Oil and their Big on burning fossil fuels mantras.

American's future and way of life is being threatened by the Republican Party's cozy relationship with Big Oil.

When does America demand that prosperity for American's living on Main Street, USA comes before the Republican lawmakers hand-outs to Big Oil?

IKHAN   May 21st, 2010 10:27 pm ET

Hi Larry,
@gerald Jolly
very apt observation.
Its about time folks get to know the crooks at Wall Street. Madoff was indeed a crook of the highest order who preyed upon those whose greed led them to him. Most of them were rich wanting to get richer.
Small investors never could knock on his door. He was more of a private banker.
And how does Holocaust come into all this?

I was disappointed to watch Wolf Blitzer press the crass and callous failed America's War on Drug's with a totally unbalanced duo of CNN Guests being the past and present 'drug czars' as the morass of stupidity over Marijuana Legalization in America.

Instead of Wolf Blitzer promoting such a outrageous and widely condemned view of continuing America's failed War on Drugs and keeping Marijuana illegal in America, viewers would have been much greater served by airing the current plight and dilemma of a Canadian citizen who the storm-trooping DEA has accused of selling fertile hemp seeds via the internet to American consumers.

Non fertile hemp seeds are routinely imported from CHINA and found in America's deli's, food and spices and in bird-seed.

That man is facing FIVE YEARS in a federal prison for selling fertile Hemp Seeds (Marijuana Seeds) online from his Canadian home to USA consumers. At most in Canada fertile Hemp seed sellers would get hit with a 125 dollar fine.

The Marijuana Laws in America are a political crime, largely purchased by gigantic beer and liquor Republican led corporations who poured millions into the very pockets of the friendly Republican lawmakers who were happy to take their money and submit laws and legislation on their behalf, namely to ban their competition, go figure!

Five Years for selling fertile seeds, that is the very height of injustice. Shame on the 'drug czars' and those in the Republican party for creating that charade and abuse of the American people.

Smith in Oregon   May 22nd, 2010 7:03 pm ET

The true actual statistics tallied in the community's which have legalized Marijuana for medical use and have Marijuana Dispensary's SHOW:

There was NO increase in violence

There was NO increase in drug overdoses in the local ER's and Hospitals

There was NO increase in crime

There was NO increase in addicts using Heroin

For years there was NO actual statistics because the 'drug czars' and Sheriff's of Nottingham across America who made huge amounts of money from seizing homes, ranches, airplanes, boats and selling them for penny's to their own family members CREATED THE FALSE RHETORIC and FEAR that if Marijuana were legalized, Crime, Violence, Overdoses and Heroin Addicts would flood the streets.

It turns out that was a outright lie.

It turns out that was nothing but FALSE PROPAGANDA designed to continue the failed America's War on Drugs.

Corrupt politicians want American taxpayers to continue pouring Billions of taxpayer dollars into the corrupt pockets of the Sheriff's of Nottingham, State troopers and DEA agents.

The taxpayer backbreaking costs to continue locking up illegal drug offenders in America's massive prison system is enormous and growing larger every year.

Madoff stole money not only from the rich jews, God bless him for that, but from several state retirement funds, hurting the average working teachers and other insureds.
He should be in prison for the rest of his life cleaning latrines.
However, I would wager a good amount that he will be pardoned in a few years as soon as a large amount hits the coffers of the next presidential candidate, whoever he or she may be.

Hi Larry,
g.morning folks.
@Smith in Oregon
again a point to ponder. False Propaganda is the key word here & basically sums up the evil force leading this nation down a path which veers away from what this nation & great country stands for.
False propaganda was the foundation on which Bush-Cheney admn built their edifice & the reason it crumbled spreading the debris so widely that clean up would take decades. That too only if we Americans learn to judge between truth & falsehood, between right & wrong and let the propaganda machines grind to a halt.
Not only the subject of @Smith's post but other vital functions of this great society have been corrupted by false propaganda & corruption- foreign policy, economy, defense, domestic policies & above all the very philosophy which guided us from our inception.
Just look around, wars, financial & economic debacles, the rule of lobbies, special interest groups, the radical changes we see happening in the political thought process.
Look at one example only- a person like Rand Paul clinching the GOP nomination in KY. Tea Party gaining momentum on the same un-American agenda & you would get a sense of where we are heading.
Americans still the best of all people,America still the best country to call home, we deserve better.

For a full year, U.S. Defense contractors have been waging a multi-million dollar propaganda campaign on News Media commercials claiming Iran invented explosively formed projectiles (EFP's) which are among the deadliest forms of improvised explosive devices which are being used across the Middle East to kill American troops.

Today, part of that false claim was revealed as the Nature Media Channel showed the steps for a top kill deep sea crude Oil operation. A series of small EFP's are lowered deep inside the deep sea drill casing and detonated. The EFP's blast a series of small holes thru the deep sea Oil casing instead of simply partially rupturing the heavy well casing pipe. Then drilling mud and cement is forced down the deep sea well casing to permanently seal that undersea deep sea oil well.

Although all shape charges could be termed EFP's in use since WW2, the specific design of EFP's with copper convex slugs appears to be directly tailor made ORIGINALLY to prepare a deep Ocean well casing for a top kill filled with cement.

It is certainly not any stretch to place Petrol workers entirely familiar with that practice to have shared that information with country's and organizations that do not love the American people. For example these specific types of EFPs were first used in improvised explosive devices against a armored car in the 1989 assassination of the German banker Alfred Herrhausen (attributed to the Red Army Faction) , and then 17 years later by Hezbollah in the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. The most recent use is their widespread introduction in IEDs by insurgents in Iraq in Afghanistan.

This appears to directly refute any honesty of the U.S. Defense contractors claim in their multi-million dollar commercials stating Iran invented the copper slugged EFP's. Note that Iran doesn't have any deep sea crude Oil wells and the current use of EFP's against American soldiers didn't occur until 17 years after their lethal introduction to murder a German banker.

It is ENTIRELY likely copper slugged EFP's were in fact invented by U.S. Defense contractors working in conjunction with the DARPA, US Dept. of Defense (DOD) and the Big Oil corporations to design and work out a reliable method to help permanently cap deep sea crude Oil wells by puncturing the steel crude Oil casing in a series of holes instead of simply swelling out the Oil casing thru a normal explosion.

That research and development appears to have been either directly shared with China or leaked out to the Red Army where it was put into the nefarious use to assassinate a hardened target, namely the 1989 assassination of the German banker Alfred Herrhausen in his heavily armored car by the Red Army Faction in Europe. From there it was likely shared with North Korea and from there to Middle East nations who maintain a friendly relationship with North Korea.

It is sad to hear what is happening between these two states in the USA. I just hope they can reach some consensus on this and things can remain peaceful for everybody.

Smith in Oregon   May 23rd, 2010 10:07 pm ET

@ Jessie from Auckland, NZ, thank-you for your feedback and kind comments.

For a considerable length of time I have advocated the solid opinion that a world not at peace would never prosper to the extent that humanity on earth would during a world entirely at peace.

The same observation is made by myself and others that a divided America is weaker and unable to prosper to the extent that Americans would enjoy if America is at war against other nations and is highly polarizing with itself (States vs States).

Rush Limbaugh early on gave the marching orders to the Republican Lawmakers in his 'I want President Obama to fail' speech. And it fully appears Republican Lawmakers including Mitch McConnell, John McCain and John Boehner are goose stepping in that direction, regardless of the risks and losses by the American people living on Main Street, USA.

The Republican party lawmakers are actively working against America's success in a effort to reap a political profit from across the board failures. Ironically, more American's are realizing that at the worst economic period in recent history here in America, the Obstruction, Legislative blocks and Filibusters by the Republican lawmakers are designed to cause America to fail, not succeed and certainly not to prosper.

The only ones that prosper under the Republican created Wars around the world are their special interests in the U.S. Defense Contractors, making America the worlds largest weapons maker and exporter. The biggest losers are domestic spending programs which are gutted and the hundreds of millions of Americans those programs directly help and benefit from.

Don Layman   May 23rd, 2010 10:59 pm ET

Doesn't the US Navy have the firepower (depth charges, etc) to blow up the drilling site and seal off the well forever? Drilling regulations ought to require such a charge to be implanted in the underwater water shaft so that it could be detonated to seal a well if a disaster like this ever happens again.

Marijuana Legalization leads all political races in Colorado.

According to a statewide poll released this week by Rasmussen polling Reports, marijuana legalization is more popular in Colorado than any of the candidates running for governor and the U.S. Senate.

The recent Rasmussen Poll shows a full 49 percent of Coloradans support legalizing and taxing marijuana, and only 39 percent think it should remain illegal.

Here's the breakdown of the Rasmussen poll results, showing each of the potential match-ups in the state's two major political battles and how they stack up to marijuana legalization:

For Marijuana legalization - 49%

Jane Norton (vs. Bennet) - 48%
Jane Norton (vs. Romanoff) - 46%

Ken Buck (vs. Bennet) - 48%
Ken Buck (vs. Romanoff) - 45%

Tom Wiens (vs. Romanoff) - 45%
Tom Wiens (vs. Bennet) - 44%

Michael Bennet (vs. Wiens) - 42%
Michael Bennet (vs. Norton) - 41%
Michael Bennet (vs. Buck) - 41%

Andrew Romanoff (vs. Buck) - 40%
Andrew Romanoff (vs. Weins) - 40%
Andrew Romanoff (vs. Norton) - 39%

Scott McInnis (vs. Hickenlooper) - 47%
John Hickenlooper (vs. McInnis) - 41%

Supporting continuing America's Failed Marijuana prohibition - 39%

I hope CNN will begin focusing on this political issue as many States have now have pending Marijuana Legalization ballot initiatives that will be voted on this November 2010, and STOP espousing the Archie Bunker heavy handed anti-Marijuana position from the past and present failed drug czars.

If CNN's Wolf Blitzer is seeking a fair and balanced discourse with the past and present Drug Czars, I suggest Wolf Blitzer ask those Drug Czars about what role they specifically have in Afghanistan where the CIA has ordered US and Nato troops to not destroy the Opium-Poppy fields and their hand-picked Karzai Clan is allegedly a major exporter of Heroin out of Afghanistan?

America goes to Panama and kidnaps their president over his alleged involvement with drugs passing thru Panama (Noriega) and yet the American Government installs and props up with the very lives of the brave US Soldiers a heavily alleged family of major exporter's of HEROIN out of Afghanistan (President Karzai and the Karzai Clan)?

That seems very wrong to me, and smells of graft and corruption to many Americans. How are the American drug czars spinning the cozy relationship with major Heroin trafficking in Afghanistan?

Hi Larry,
Hi folks
the posts on Larry's blog from so many , dictated not only by clarity of perception & grasp on the topic under discussion but also springing from the courage of the writers' convictions, are doing what our mainstream media should be doing.
That our politicians are upside down with their view of the world at large & issues facing this nation ,is undeniable & in my opinion Larry thru this blog is letting Americans do the talking rather than we listening to the non sense spewed forth by them.
What @Smith in Oregon writes about Rush Limbaugh & Repub lawmakers goading the current leadership into another folly this nation can ill afford, is right on mark.
Another factor which we are ignoring & which has a direct impact on our policies is what Yuri Avenry recently said that " the current govt in Israel is anti-Semite" with an agenda both against the interest of America & Israel. Most Jewish-Americans & a large number in Israel feel the same way, if the Americans could hear them.
The worry is that what @Smith points out in his post, combined with this factor may compel our leaders to chose to open another front in the region which is already sapping us of lives & funds to no avail.
May sanity prevail for the sake of America that we love.

Smith in Oregon   May 24th, 2010 6:29 pm ET

With a whopping 50% of the seafood, shell fish, shrimp and oysters coming from the Gulf of Mexico region specifically where the enormous heavy crude Oil spill occurred, the chances that any American continuing to eat seafood, shrimp and oysters are going to consume contaminated seafood is 50-50. That is extremely HIGH ODDs.

More and more American's are becoming angry and upset as they realize a large portion of the food chain has been poisoned, toxified and are faced with either consuming contaminated seafood or entirely doing without it for many decades.

The chances US Lawmakers will force seafood providers to LABEL point of origin stickers is extremely unlikely, meaning they won't help American consumers seeking to entirely seek non-Gulf of Mexico seafood in the market.

Gardeners for decades have known that while discarded TIRES make a nice raised garden bed for ornamental plants, if you plant tomatoes and other edible crops in the earth poured into a discarded tire, the resulting crops contains contaminated Petrol-Chemicals from the discarded car tire which leeches into the soil and collected by the plants. Ending up in your food chain in a toxic fashion.

50% of the heavy crude Oil specifically gushing into the once pristine Gulf of Mexico contains Asphalt which almost immediately sinks beneath the Ocean's surface and coats enormous sections of the undersea floor with that toxic material. In effect it turns thousands of square miles of the Gulf of Mexico into a discarded TIRE which leeches out those toxic Petrol-Chemicals into the food chain which is the fish, sea-life, shrimp, oysters, crabs, mussels etc. and from there to YOU.

CNN Should begin responsible reporting on Petrol-Chemical poisoning, what organs are effected, what are the signs of acute and chronic poisoning from Petrol-Chemicals. PEOPLE deserve to know the truth and not some BP spin-misters telling them it is OK to consume chemicals that lead to a higher level of stomach and colon cancers.

I find it entirely Ironic that many of America's new and current Weapons Systems entirely depend on rare earth elements to build and maintain them and China has as much as 95% of the worlds Rare Earth elements in China and thru mineral leases signed in Africa.

It is really sad that America is by far the largest exporter of military weapons around the entire world. Instead of placing all of that technology and research into solving the great problems found in the fields of medicine, environment, energy and agriculture, America spends hundreds of Billions of dollars on building weapons of death. And spreading those weapons all over the world.

NOW, it seems utterly ironic that CHINA has it in her power to really curtail the flooding of the world with America's weapons and America's defense contractors that are constantly building ever more lethal weapons.

China has a need for Rare Earth elements for her own people so it is entirely in China's interest to begin severely curtailing all exports of Rare Earth elements to America (wink), and I hope China begins doing that immediately.

re: Gulf oil spill
Why don't you identify BP as what it really is: British Petroleum. Alot of American's unfortunately, probably don't make the connection. Sad but true. I rarely hear on any newscast the correct name. When they are identified as British the next question in one's mind is why are they allowed to dictate to the United States government – damage they have done in US territory – how things are going to be done.
Thank you, Nina Latham

Mr King, I have tried for 2 weeks now, to speak with someone about a fix for this devastating oil disaster. I have exhausted hours on the phone to Washington, Louisiana, EPA, Coast Guard and so on, to no avail. I have a very easy fix for the gushing oil problem. I'm sure that the easiest solution is the one I want to tell about. Maybe I can get a call back from you. My name is Mark Itterly, and I reside in Palm Coast, Florida. Let our children and grandchildren have a future, not to mention our shores and wildlife. I will await you reply. Thank you, Sincerely, Mark Itterly

What if BP and other oil drillers were allowed to drill in shallower waters then currently permitted under law, would an accident such as the one now occurring be easier to fix? It seems the inability to stop the leak is due to the extreme pressure experienced at great depths.

Peter S Parsons   May 26th, 2010 9:20 pm ET

when they pump the heavier fuild, "the mud" into the hole it acts as a liquid "cork" ,if they can get a heavy enough column of this mud to be in position above the gas, this is a very difficult task to accomplish once a well is flowing out of controle,
A unit known as a snubbing unit should be employed to force a tight seal on to the top of the BOP unit, with a huge rubber packer,, Ideally the snubbing unit would be bolted to the top of the BOP, but a quick modification should allow a packer system to be built that is forced onto the BOPs and allow the well to flow and at least be controled till it can be tamed,,,
we need more skimmers at the ready to take up position close to the source... as well as seperators to allow the water to be returned toi the ocean and the oil barged to safety,,,
the issue is not about blame... it is about learning and cooperating clean it up, and prevent it from happening again.. have a contingency plan in effect for such a disaster... , For cleanup,, prevention, and mo effective BOPs... it is really the job of the BOP to be the last line of defence,,, curious as to why they have failed?

To bad Bush-Cheney gutted the EPA or BP wouldn't have been able to dump and spray 1 Million gallons of the poisonus dispersant Corexit into the same region some 40% of the world's seafood comes from.

The EPA must have known the UK banned the use of Corexit in its waters, and yet they permitted BP to use that banned poisonous toxic chemical to the tune of 1 Million gallons in the Gulf of Mexico in one of the most viable seafood producing regions in the world?

wilbur lowder   May 26th, 2010 9:31 pm ET

Larry-Please tell the public I think the best thing we can do about the oil disaster is not call the local politician but call your auto manufacture and tell them you want a non combustion power source in your next purchase of transportation or nothing. If we do this it will be the fastest and cleanest way to get away from the big oil mofia.
Also, I feel if blame is going to be part of the game with oil that our college
educated group of individuals need to share in this disaster. we have the means and ways to clean this air up but no one smart enough to figure out how. so much for a college education when you look at the oil disaster!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Wilbur lowder arvada,co.

Al Gore may have in your words "absolutely killed Ross Perot" in the NAFTA debate but Ross was RIGHT. NAFTA Killed the Textile Industry in NC and many other manufacturers have left the county and went to Mexico. NAFTA was a win for Mexico and a 100% loss to America.

Ross Perot was smarter than Gore, Clinton and Bush put together.

Still the same question for Larry.

Will you bring JOE SHABOGIE back on your show in the near future????

Hi, I have to email because I'm so disappointed about the timing of the Larry King Live promo that announced the winner and runner-up of American Idol, in announcing its upcoming show. The spoiler: American Idol finale hasn't aired yet so the promo ruined all the suspense. Such bad planning... a really sloppy mistake.

Phyllis   May 26th, 2010 11:16 pm ET

As always, another great show. I don't care what the numbers reflect – I look forward to watching LKL every night. I TiVo the shows and watch some of them several times.

Johnny   May 27th, 2010 12:26 am ET

Has anyone ever suggested to BP that most of that CRUDE OIL in the Gulf can be picked up using plan ole WHEAT, OAT AND BERMUDA GRASS STRAW??? Are would that be too simple a solution?

Kevin Decker   May 27th, 2010 12:34 am ET

Dear mr king,
I would like to help plug the oil wells with fox tails that will only go in one way and not come back out, like they did in my hound dogs ear.
I'm shure nature has desighned a natrual back flow preventer by desighn and it could be copied for this purpose.
then my girl friend suggested that after yall got that oil leak stopped, you could get that guy kristo to cover those beaches with all that silk that he used on those buildings all over the world. but then I told her that a high wind could just up and blow all that silk , all over kingdom come and probably get tangled up in the high line wires. Any how they could just put some old used tires on top of it just like we did on our double wide.. thanx

Topkill: Judicial prosecution of the rich and powerful that are responsible for a large amount of abuse and suffering of the law abiding American people.

Prosecute Republican led Big Oil and Big Coal companies whose neglect result in the deaths of the employees. Big Coal's major Republican backer and donor Massey Energy is alleged to have thru neglect caused the deaths of 29 Coal Miners. For information on the campaign to bring manslaughter charges against Massey Energy for the deaths of 29 Coal Miners, see

Corporate Crime Reporter editor Russell Mokhiber, says corporate executives should be held criminally accountable for the disasters under their watch. Mokhber is involved with a group of citizen activists who have just launched a campaign calling on the state of West Virginia to prosecute Massey Energy for manslaughter in connection with the April 5th explosion at the Upper Big Branch Mine that claimed the lives of twenty-nine coal miners.

Anis Blemur   May 27th, 2010 2:27 am ET

For some reasons, I have expected the US Navy and or the Marines to go and try to clean the oil spill, and have BP pay for the financial costs. I assume this spill is flammable and is spreading through corners we may ignore. Doesn't that represent a threat, if it is flammable? Terrorists may use this anytime, no? am I going too far?

Hi Tony Wrigthley

Welcome. Good to have another foreigner on this blog.
After all the worldi is getting smaller..

Dodie   May 27th, 2010 11:18 am ET

@Smith in Oregon

You are right on target and thank you for pointing that out. If the Cheney/bush Admin had not downsized the EPA and deregulate so many government controls over powerful corporations, BP would not have been able to dump the well known Toxic Corexit dispersant creating a primordial ooze of death!

I also find it quite interesting that those who have been yelling at downsizing the government are now demanding action. You cannot have it both ways. Either the government is downsized and we lose the checks and balances allowing catastrophes like this to occur, or we support a larger government who is not asleep at the wheel.

IKHAN   May 27th, 2010 2:21 pm ET

Hi Larry,

@Smith in Oregon,@Dodie.
If Bush-Cheney admn had not promoted deregulation to the extent that they did many corporate deviations resulting in disasters could have been avoided.
But try standing up to them now & the criers would cry 'socialism'.
@Anis Blemur. The US military has admitted that they don't have the resources or the capability to deal with such catastrophes.
As for terrorists exploiting the situation, the only terror we should fear is our own ,perhaps ingrained, inclination towards committing folly upon folly.
A nation which can't learn from the blunders & crimes committed during the Bush-Cheney era of infamy has to be diagnosed with this ailment.

Somebody at CNN needs to fix the text under the Tammy Faye Messner interview. It says she died a couple days after the interview, which is FALSE. It was just several hours, which is why the interview is so astounding. She literally went home Thursday night and died early the next morning.

Alwiya   May 27th, 2010 7:44 pm ET

Hi Larry, I enjoyed watching the video clips and voted my top 5!.
By the way I saw a picture of you on an ad for your show in Zanzibar, Tanzania!!!

If T. "Boone" Pickens was running BP, he would have already sold along with the responsibility of cleaning up the mess then take the money and buy up more windmill land and fresh water rights.

jeff stump   May 27th, 2010 9:18 pm ET

The spill should have been addressed within hours of this incident. I have yet to see a single vaccuum truck in any of the media coverage.

Diana   May 27th, 2010 9:34 pm ET

I believe, LKL's guest tonight, Mr. Hoffmiester, is wrong about the Obama Administration wanting a 6 month moratorium on off shore drilling........I believe the President said today: there will be a 6 month suspension on permits for new deep water wells.......
Why isn't anyone (producers, LK or Carville) catching this????

mike   May 27th, 2010 10:47 pm ET

I totally agree with T. Boone Pickens about the "Top Kill". All they are doing is circulating drilling mud / fluid across the wellhead, not killing the well.

As Pickens said, they have to force the kill fluid DOWN the hole to a depth that the hydrostatic pressure of this column of kill fluid overcomes the reservoir pressure. Don't see how they can do this without a "barrier" ( blind rams, annular, pipe rams) to pump against to force the fluid down the hole.

Where is this kill fluid going to go. Between the 7" liner hanger and the 9-5/8" down to the formation or down the 7" liner through the float equipment? If this is the case, that says there is no cement between the liner and open hole as well as the shoe track.

It has been mentioned that the positive test results were ok. This means that the well would not take fluid under applied pressure. How do expect to kill the well under these conditions?

Why not try to cut the riser at the top of the BOP stack, leaving enough riser neck to engage it with a short catch overshot and pack-off rubbers (Big "O" rings). Run the overshot on large diameter tubular with valves placed at the bottom of the string that can be opened and closed by the ROV to allow the overshot to engage the riser without being pushed around.

After surface preparation has been done ( manifolds, seperators, blooey line, panic line, flare line, etc.) engage the riser with the overshot and start closing the valves mentioned above. Flow the well into surface vessels until the relief wells can plug the well with cement.

Jesse Paz   May 28th, 2010 3:54 am ET

I was looking at your interview with T Boone Pickens
I think is just about money grabing. All he is interested
about is his pocket. He is not about USA he is all about
his pocket. Just like all corporations that are making
money for the ones that control them.

Art Mensor   May 28th, 2010 5:44 am ET

Your picks for the top 25 moments are NOT ours.

Why limit them to so few?

Johnny Cash, and almost all the others were on your show many times.

What happened to Art Linkletter. He was just as inspiring as Tammy Faye Baker, Johnny Cash, Billy Graham (oh, whoops, he wasn't there either) and many more...........

This is not a very accurate survey, in my opinion.

Art Mensor   May 28th, 2010 5:54 am ET

Further, in reading some of the comments your viewers use, it is obvious to me they must speak another language. It sure isn't English. No wonder America is on a fast track to becoming a third world country with most leaving school far too early, not learning proper English and producting almost nothing any more for the rest of the world that we can't get cheaper from China, and with over 10 unemployed for years, since our former Presidents let our big companies close plants here and open them in China & India, and let banks get 'too big to fail' and automobile companies continue producing the same gas guzzlers for the past 40 years with only a different looking shell, and big corporations get BIGGER buying up every half successful smaller company, invading countries that didn't attack, it's not the way to go to keep American the premier country it once was.

People just keep having 2-3-4-5-6-7- – – – children to crowd this planet even more and pollute it even more and build more homes in lands that once belonged to animals, part of the food chain and then kill the animals when they return trying to find food for themselves in their reduced crowded lands. I am so happy I have no children or grandchildren to leave this mess to.

When it comes to the bleeding edge, I come to Larry King. Thank you for your many explorations into the realms beyond ours. Your work on the UFO question has been particularly fine and stretches over the whole twenty-five. Congratulations on your courage in taking on that mystery and, using your special gift of inquiry, pressing with the important questions into contact and connection with The Others.

Thank you too for your June 2 interview with the Gates, father & son.

In the end, Larry, what is more vital than the ability to question? We've known that at least since Socrates.
