Jesse James breaks his silence and says he 'threw away' marriage

Posted: 08:53 AM ET

Jesse James breaks down in tears as he finally speaks publicly about the demise of his marriage to Sandra Bullock.

"I took a pretty amazing life and marriage ... and threw it away," James says in a promo clip of his interview with ABC News' "Nightline," scheduled to air Tuesday night.

James, 41, admits to cheating on Bullock and says his actions - including allegations of affairs with multiple women - have made him "The most hated man in the world." At one point, he's so overcome by emotion, he walks away from the interview.

Since the couple's split, James has spent time in a rehab program and has otherwise maintained a normal schedule at his Los Angeles-area home, where he's often been seen driving his kids to school.

But James is looking to make a change. A source tells PEOPLE that James has put the house he shared with Bullock up for sale. The motorcycle mogul is eyeing Austin, Texas, as a place to spend more time, according to another source. Bullock has long called Austin a second home.

Well Jessie James, in hindsight, what you did was entirely YOU, and in your character. It won't change, you won't change. Bullock gave you everything she was capable of giving, you took it, trashed it, trampled on it, laughed about it and you expect US to believe you are crying and hurt?

Of all the people in America Jessie James, you are the most deserving to be transformed into a fire hydrant in a city park with heavy dog traffic saluting you everyday.

Mr. James you've cried enough crocodile tears , you deserve everything you're getting because you proved you really didn't want all the positive things you were offered.. I have no idea why people are even interviewing you........I think you like the old life probably suits your lifestyle. So, please leave the stage ......your 15 min. are up!!!!

Well stated. I agree.

I think he is loving all the attention. Can't get enough of it, seems. Talking out publicly about it, is like adding salt to the wound.

If he was half a decent man, he would just keep quiet about it. The less said the better. Keep it private is how it should be. I would be ashamed to even show my face in public and tell everyone about it, if I did something like that. It is like hanging out your dirty laundry in public, as the saying goes. No class at all I'm afraid.
