Tonight on Larry King Live!

Posted: 09:40 AM ET

Are Aliens a Threat?

Could space aliens be out to get us? Stephen Hawking thinks so – and he tells Larry and YOU why!  And, what he thinks an alien would look like!

If extraterrestrials could be a danger to us, as Hawking suggests, should we stop trying to contact them? Dan Aykroyd and others debate!

Do you believe in extraterrestrial life?

I do, but my wife is in a monogamist relationship..I haven't found out with whom!

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 7:31 pm ET

Why would aliens even want to bother with this little planet which is currently being ravaged and decimated by the human race.

If the Earth were to explode tonight, the universe would not even notice!

Michael   April 30th, 2010 7:31 pm ET

I do I have always thought the Bush's were aliens. Larry King kinda looks like one with the odd shaped head and all, sorry Larry I still love your show.

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 7:37 pm ET

Are Aliens a Threat to the Earth and Humanity on Earth? NO, absolutely not.

Are Evil world leaders and evil people on Earth a Threat to Humanity from other planets and worlds? YES

This is very likely and precisely the reason Humanity on Earth is prevented from being able to have manned exploration beyond the tiny region surrounding the Earth.

Every time a US Military Fighter Jet harasses, fires missiles at and chases a genuine ET UFO, they are committing a crime against Humanity and labeling Humanity on Earth in a very callous and crass nature.

Humanity on Earth should stand up and loudly denounce Evil Leaders and Evil People that have routinely and historically have done everything possible to react to any geniune ET UFO contacts with warlike and very hostile actions.

Humanity on Earth should stand up to loudly denounce those that attempt to portray those ET's as being the hostile and fearful enitys in a classic smear and propaganda campaign.

Crazy Alien   April 30th, 2010 8:07 pm ET

Earthlings: All your life are belong to us.

David   April 30th, 2010 8:15 pm ET

Stephen Hawkins is misguided at best. S.E.T.I should point it's telescopes at Washington for the Search for Earthly Terrestrial Intelligence. Stephens perception in regards to universal life is paranoid and teeters on the edge of ignorant. To project that advanced life wishes to engage our childish issues as a species makes no sense. To complain about isolation from connectivity to universal life, is them just letting a baby cry itself to sleep. Not that we do not filth our own bed. Stephen believes that advanced life is as immature as we are, that there evolution was governed by science, fully dismissing the idea of any other discipline, or a connectivity to even there Universal perception of God and the respectful parameters of that. The idea that this world should for a moment live in fear, appears to be the projection of Stephens feeling's. His vulnerability projected on us. A shameful but somewhat understandable abuse of his intellect. Anything alien with the technology to get here, has already achieved universal adulthood and respect. Should Larry actually have the tenacity to present a more a viable point of debate, beyond the nonsense he will entertain tonight, he might have cause to call himself a journalist. Never let the vanity of being on TV grip you beyond the investigative nature of seeking a path to the truth. If Larry is man enough for that, I shall see that in evidence. David.

julie   April 30th, 2010 8:21 pm ET

Yes I have seen a ufo, and no one will
ever tell me that earth is the only planet with life on it.

Mike M.   April 30th, 2010 8:37 pm ET

The reality is that extraterrestrials have been here from the beginning and that we share some DNA with multiple races. Many governments are in active communication with many groups of visitors and have collaborated on various projects, from star fleet exchanges to establishing bases on other planets and developing new technologies. Some are hostile, some are benevolent whilst some have merely been observing us for millennia. Some look identical to us whilst some look like animal-humanoid hybrids. The US President's level of security clearance is halfway on the scale of 40 levels, leaving the military-industrial complex to operate black operations using black budget finances. Many supposed UFO's are actually test and operational vehicles developed by such veiled agencies, which are themselves heavily compartmentalized, so that no one person has a view of everything. There is evidence to support everything above if individuals actually research the topic in detail. It is extremely unproductive, passive and arrogant to simply mock this very important issue.

Warren brown   April 30th, 2010 8:37 pm ET

Dear Larry King on 4-21-09 The Father Son and Holy Spirit chose to reveal himself to me. The Blessed Trinity said it would in no way hurt me and in no way did. What was revealed to me the world should know.
The only aliens that exist are those who don't believe in what I am saying, and yes if you don't believe in the Father Son and Holy Spirit you will be hurt; because hell remains open to all who have not believed in the truth. This is the truth as God The father Son and Holy Spirit revealed himself to me. What he said and what I know the world should know. There is much more to this story. No joke.

Bill T   April 30th, 2010 8:51 pm ET

Larry,I would like to know if a lawsuit can be filed against the Federal Government for not upholding the Federal Immigration Laws of this country?

the cat   April 30th, 2010 8:55 pm ET

Stephen Hawking is one of the most if not THE most brilliant physicist on earth and in our galaxy, and perhapse the entire universe as we know, and don't know it!!! Stephen must feel that we earthly idiots are ready to hear the "truth", and finally he has an Unbiased avenue and arena where he can share his ideas....BEFORE YOU JUDGE, open your ears and LISTEN, open your EYES and see, open your HEART and feel .. To even think that we on Earth are the only type of 'life" force in our universe is absolutely immature, and closed minded. .. ...
Stephen, I know it's time to get the truth out to the masses, and I am glad you are still here with us to teach and educate. I am truly blessed to be born in this time, and at 40+ years old, am thankful for all of your insight through the years...GOD BLESS YOU! CB

Alfie   April 30th, 2010 9:01 pm ET

Speaking of aliens....If they haven't found 'the shooter' HOW do they know 'the shooter' was an illegal alien?? Oh, wait, this is ARIZONA...they can tell just by looking at you if you are illegal or not!

Antonio Palena   April 30th, 2010 9:01 pm ET

Dear Mr King
The only person who seems credible to me is Benjamin Creme when it comes to extraterrestrial life on earth,His claim is that there completly harmless, and have a spiritual mission here on earth.
In my opinion it would be wise to speak with creme, an opportunity to clarify the missconception on reality from credible source.

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:02 pm ET

@ Crazy Alien April 30th, 2010 8:07 pm ET

Earthlings: All your life are belong to us.
love your wit and humor! Very cute!

Sean B   April 30th, 2010 9:03 pm ET

I have to disagree with Hawking here. Any race intelligent enough to travel throughout the universe wouldn't destroy an entire planet unless it was absolutely necessary. In such a case, I believe we would have to be the aggressors. Besides, there's a possibility they already have come here, as evidenced by a (relatively small number) of credible UFO cases.

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:05 pm ET

ET's would not be led by some rabid bible thumpers unlike the soldiers that committed mass genocide of the indigenous people in South and North America. They would certainly not be Jesus freaks nor rabid Mohammad followers.

They probably wouldn't be atheists either which is nearly impossible if you actually travel thru any distance in outer space.

RickFromDetroit   April 30th, 2010 9:06 pm ET

Is there life beyond earth? More than likely yes, but it is probably well beyond our reach. When earth is compared to space it is so small that if you could shrink it to a slide, you couldn't find it with the worlds most powerful microscope.

Is the life friendly? Is your next door neighbor friendly?

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:06 pm ET

Major religious leaders acting like King Herod in attacking any possible ET's from Humanity from planets other than Earth is entirely telling of their corruption and utter evil in those religious leaders.

Mary Schenck-Ross   April 30th, 2010 9:07 pm ET

Wonderful that Discovery Channel was able to involve Stephen Hawking, the most brilliant scientist alive today. Remember he is answering the "IF" question based on his deep grasp of scientific knowledge.. which has accelerated so much in the past decades.

I suggest everyone watch Sunday evening with awe.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:09 pm ET

Steven Hawkins is right we cannot be the only ones only an idiot would think so .

Patricia   April 30th, 2010 9:09 pm ET

Why doesn't the government just come out and admitt that we've been visited by ET's all along. We sure could use ET technology for cleaning up the oil spill in the Gulf . BP is definitely more frightening than ET.

war_FF   April 30th, 2010 9:10 pm ET

Lets worry about our evil world leaders before we try and figure out the universe. I mean come on, aliens? Haha what a laugh. Are these aliens illegal? Let's put them back on their ship and kick them out. Or maybe one of them will become president and be Mr. president alien wizard.

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:10 pm ET

I think people have far more to fear from the corporate/military complex than we have to fear from possible aliens. The earth would have been a far better place to explore before hatred and greed turned it into a ravaged planet. Hawking is brilliant, but he , like the rest of us , can only speculate about ET s.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:12 pm ET

Hostile maybe yes maybe no just like star trek they may not be permitted to interfer .

Moses Gichini   April 30th, 2010 9:12 pm ET

If alien life is intelligent then they would have nothing to do with humans. They probably discovered us thousands of years ago and decided to move on. Superior aliens would have nothing to gain from interaction with humans.

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:12 pm ET

The Chariot of the Gods specifically cited South America and Egypt being visited time and again. Christian and Muslim leaders have systematically and deliberately destroyed ancient history of ET's

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:13 pm ET

I can believe there is life on other planets far easier than I can believe the latest claims about finding Noah's ark.

Kappa   April 30th, 2010 9:13 pm ET

it's not possible, the universe is to vast, by the time they get here, our sun would have already used all of it's energy an expanded to swallow the earth. besides civilazatoins in the universe are like christmas lights, one goes out, another comes on.

war_FF   April 30th, 2010 9:15 pm ET

It's all the government. Ufo can blame your government for decieving you. This is just another attempt to mush up your brain and follow their evil ways. The human race makes me wonder sometimes.

Tammy in Texas   April 30th, 2010 9:15 pm ET

Is it that we fear Aliens may have technology that would make us submissive to them?

John Plaster   April 30th, 2010 9:16 pm ET

Yes I believe in alien life and I think they are a threat to our very existence. I believe that God is the creator of the Universe and all life including alien life. Mankind has gotten out of hand, and who knows, but maybe the aliens will be sent to teach us a lesson and learn not to wage war against each other and know we are together and not divided into countries, but should be all united as earthlings.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:16 pm ET

Interview with captain Pike .

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:16 pm ET

Christianity and the Muslim religions should be charged with Crimes against Humanity in their deliberate and systematic destruction of records and sources showing that friendly ET's have repeatedly visited Humanity here on Earth.

I feel sorry for Stephen Hawking in falling into the morass of hating our interstellar brothers and sisters in Humanity across the Universe.

Arlin Givens   April 30th, 2010 9:17 pm ET

Mr. Hawking warns that we should not attempt to contact aliens.
What if an alien contacts us?

war_FF   April 30th, 2010 9:17 pm ET

So jack, you believe something that u have never seen, better yet, any human has seen, than to believe something on EARTH that has been seen? Go love ur government brain washed freak.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:18 pm ET

There already hear and they more then likely have bean hear for thousands of years .

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:19 pm ET

Given the enormous immensity of the Universe, do ETs exist? I do not see that as a question. A possibly more appropriate question would which solar system resides intelligent Extra Terrestrials.

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:19 pm ET

Deep Sea UFO's are extremely likely existing on Earth and largely immune from the US Military and Evil people's attempts to harm them.

Funny that Stephen Hawkings is laughing about a space craft measuring a full 1 mile across widely seen by Arizona's residents, and NO such Earth made craft exists period. Must be swamp gas huh Stephen Hawkings?

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:19 pm ET

The planet would be benefited by a large advance of aliens that look like Marilyn Monroe.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:20 pm ET

Our tecnoligy is primitive .

John   April 30th, 2010 9:20 pm ET

Larry, according to Gloria Browne(Montel Williams Show),
there are some aliens already here on earth. In her book
she says they are helping us and that one of them is a nobel prize winner.

C. E. HUTCHINSON   April 30th, 2010 9:20 pm ET

Read Genesis 6 and the Book of Enoch. "Aliens" are fallen angels.

They will return. As it were in the days of Noah.....

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:21 pm ET

@ jack April 30th, 2010 9:13 pm ET

Well stated. I completely agree......

Cat   April 30th, 2010 9:22 pm ET

There is just way too much evidence that shows extraterrestials have visited us many times before and probably have already helped themselves to our resources. And in the present day just research the animal mutilations which by the way are on the increase. We are most likely so primitive compared to the advanced forms of life out there that I doubt they would want to have anything to do with us. Take a step back and look at our planet from afar. Who in their right mind would want to come here? They mostly likely will intervene when we reach the point that we are a danger of totally destroying our planet and are a danger to the rest of the universe. Which by the way doesn't seem that far off...

David E. Nation Sr   April 30th, 2010 9:22 pm ET

For gods sake I hope U people don't believe this stupid steven's guy.
I can prove that they are allready here and have been since the start of life on this planet. Duh how do u think we got here. If they wanted to harm us they would have done it a long time ago. I was in a top secret station in the service and believe me they are here. I haven't seen one face to face but i'm gona guess they don't look much different than us if not just like us. God I hope the goverment doesn't believe this guy.

Cajazz76:24:8   April 30th, 2010 9:22 pm ET

I have given birth to many aliens, all in creature comfort.

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:22 pm ET

There are numerous already charted worm holes thru-out the Universe and any EMF would certainly enter those as well. These idiot Guests all seem to entirely forget those in spewing this 60 year old EMF signature going to. Our radio broadcast impact signal could be much larger than 60 light years away from the Earth.

Moses Gichini   April 30th, 2010 9:23 pm ET

We have all these equipment "listening" for communications from aliens. Given that most communication is arbitrary, how can we tell if aliens communicate with us using signals that we cannot decipher e.g. comets, lightning, or some other means beyond our comprehension or perception. Sort of like sending a text message to someone who has no cell phone, or blowing a dog whistle to an elephant.

Stacye Mehard   April 30th, 2010 9:23 pm ET

Stephen Hawkin said nothing about alien perception and reaction to the human destruction of the planet and the universe and how this might affect future hostilites . . . . .

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:23 pm ET

I promise you Arizona will deport those suckas .

Cajazz76:24:8   April 30th, 2010 9:25 pm ET

All appeared flushed....

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:25 pm ET

How could advanced life look like the ugly creatures they showed? Didn't look like they even had hands. How could they build anything, let alone zoom across the galaxies? Unless they used some fore of telekinesis, they'd stay planet-bound.

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:26 pm ET

How many Aliens have been kidnapped by the US military, tortured, abused and murdered? It entirely seems that could lead to the death of the Human race on Earth if it were deemed Humanity on Earth was mature enough to be held responsible for such actions.

It is far more likely ET's see Humanity on Earth as far too immature to be held liable for the actions of Evil leaders, Evil religions and their subsequent actions.

RickFromDetroit   April 30th, 2010 9:27 pm ET

If aliens have visited earth, why don't they stay?
There are possibilities like our atmosphere is poison to them or corrosive to their vessel, but it seem like they would try to communicate with us. I find the subject interesting.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:28 pm ET

We cant afford any more wellfair .

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:28 pm ET

The laws of Physics is still a basis of theory's. Real UFO's routinely show the laws of Earth's accepted Physics are not entirely truthful nor entirely accurate across the board.

Jane   April 30th, 2010 9:28 pm ET

Yes, only speculate he can. But I believe his "speculation" just might be a little more sophisticated compared to ours.

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:29 pm ET

@Dodie...Yes I think people are taking advantage of people's desire to believe to charge big money for these silly ark expeditions. Don't they know that the biblical account was based on ancient Sumerian and Babylonian myths? They should spend 500, 000 dollars to put emergency safety valves on off shore oil rigs instead. It would be a far better use of funds.

Fritz Kron   April 30th, 2010 9:30 pm ET

Kicking and screaming this world is awakening to a new dawn that the visitors have arrived, if the mountain of evidence on the UFO subject were brought befor a court of law
the verdict would be,that we are not alone, Mr. Hawking it is time to face reality.

Karen F   April 30th, 2010 9:30 pm ET

Aliens came here to earth to search for intelligent life. They didn't find any intelligent life on earth, so they left. Anyway, kidding. I've had three or more ufo sitings in my life. The last major siting I had terrified me so much that I prayed intensily and called a local pastor in my area! The ufo "extraterrestrials" are fallen angels who walked away from God's "universal laws". The Bible refers to the fallen angels. Maybe some of them who regularly "fly" crafts are not fallen, but Stephen Hawking is correct saying one should NOT try to contact the extraterrestrials. I say walk towards contacting our Creator, the Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God Whose blood was shed for our sins, Who died and rose from the dead. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. God provided to know Him and to learn and know many things and to be completely forgiven.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:31 pm ET

We just dont have the right comunications maybe more cosentration should be towards magnetic comunications .

Trint Williams   April 30th, 2010 9:31 pm ET

Consider the possibility that alien civilizations may have incomprehensible religious or philosophical ideas, which could render pointless our attempts to understand what would be "economically logical." They may come all this way literally to torture and eat us.

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:33 pm ET

Michio Kaku always hosts the educational programs on the science Channel. Always enjoyable listening to his presentations.
Michio Kaku... you rock!!!

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:33 pm ET

If I see one of these dudes im going to run like hell .

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:33 pm ET

Dan Aykroyd, during the 1950's UFO hovered and repeatedly flew over Washington DC and were constantly fired upon by the US Military resulting in hundreds of artillery shells landing in the Washington DC neighborhoods. The ET-UFO's simply moved aside as the soldiers fired round after round at them.

Who told the US Military those visitors were hostile? In no fashion nor was it historically recorded those ET-UFO's operated in any fashion that could even remotely be seen as hostile and yet routine fatal force was used against them.

kas   April 30th, 2010 9:35 pm ET

How long alians need to live to be able to reach planet earth?

RickFromDetroit   April 30th, 2010 9:35 pm ET

David E. Nation Sr
You could be right. They may be here and we don't know it. Strange things have happened over the years that know one can explain and that "COULD" be why.

Henri M   April 30th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

What about the anomalies on the moon and Mars? There is photographic evidence from the Clementine moon probe of towers and other huge structures on the moon that are probably artificial. There are interesting images from the Mars probes like a feature that resembles Queen Neferteri of Egypt. There are many other anomalies on our moon and Mars that suggest that these are artificial and created by intelligent beings. NASA and the government dismiss these. I'm curious what Stephen Hawkins and the panel have to say about these anomalies close to Earth.

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

Too bad our liquid water is getting so polluted and degraded each day.

Dr Peter Gangli   April 30th, 2010 9:37 pm ET

Here is the question of "being first": as the universe evolved, there were stars first, and there were planets first, there had to be a VERY FIRST life somewhere, sometime. We don't know yet, but it is possible that we ARE that first! This goes head on against the notion of life on Earth be typical life form. So one simple explanation for not seeing life elsewhere: because: WE ARE THE FIRST!

This is a trivial yet possible explanation!

Kathleen Garone   April 30th, 2010 9:37 pm ET

There is no life off the planet earth. In the entire universe, we are the sole living beings. I maintain maximum respect for Stephen Hawkins, however, he is wrong in concluding life forms exist off our planet. I am surprised to see Mr. Hawkins with tunnel vision but that is what he has. Reality is sometimes difficult to accept and all too much money is spent looking for life forms off our planet. We surely could use those dollars elsewhere. We have starving children on our earth.

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:37 pm ET

@ jack

I love what you said.... "silly ark expeditions" I am thrilled to see others view this as silly as I do. Thank You. And the devastation the oil spill is causing in the gulf coast, the fisheries, estuaries, etc is very sad.

Michio Kaku earth = ant hill? I completely agree. I just love your perspective!

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

The chances of the correct essential amino acids being combined to create life accidentally is far beyond scientifically accepted chances of impossibility 1 x 10 to the 50th. power. It is 1 x 10 to the 70th. power.

Figure DNA probability of convicting a murder suspect is 1 x 10 to the 6th. power and at best 1 x 10 to the 7th. power.

And yet we still get this crap about a bucket of goop being naturally combined to produce life here on Earth. Scientifically impossible, science is fine until it entirely supports a very different view.

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

jack... you are on a roll tonight. keep it coming!

Big Daddy Kahuna   April 30th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

YEs I believe in Alien life! Aliens are here and have visiting us for millions of years!!!

Cajazz76:24:8   April 30th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

Speculation? I don't recall my comment as such. It is high possible, to the point beyond speculation that life exists beyond the confine of Earth. It is just a matter, similar to get a flea to mate with an elephant or a rhino, and a conclusion to a "hell-if-i-know".

Adam   April 30th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

Hi, Larry
It is ineresting subject, I think Stephen Hawking is right, we're not a lone in all this huge universe. The life on earth is small part.

Paul   April 30th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

Has anything that can be useful to current society been discovered by nasa?

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:40 pm ET

If America wants ET to visit, it should order the US Military to step down its hyper-aggressive actions whenever a ET-UFO is sighted and transmit a free to land, free to visit posture.

Thus far this failure to visit is not taking into account the current shoot on sight theology by the US Military in regards to any and all ET-UFO encounters.

Michael Armstrong Sr.   April 30th, 2010 9:41 pm ET

Do you think there hear to steal our drugs .

Brandon   April 30th, 2010 9:41 pm ET

How come aliens have to be more advanced than us?couldn't they be just like our planet and be wondering if there is life on other planets? They may not be advanced at all. They could be primitive people with no electricity and living off the land or just like us with about the same technology as us.

Thomas   April 30th, 2010 9:41 pm ET

Absolutely I believe in extraterrestrial life.
I mean, that's a big sky up there...I don't see how there could only be 7 trillion life forms (minus animals and insects, etc) in the entirety of existence.

Jim   April 30th, 2010 9:42 pm ET

What a waste of TV time. The ONLY aliens we/all U.S. citizens should be afraid of are those being allowed to infiltrate our country by our GOVERNMENT. Get serious.

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:42 pm ET

And how far does this fear and smear campaign against ET-UFO's go?

Look at the US Military animal mutilation's across the Midwest, some of those have shown US Military forces were involved and purposefully fanning the fears of the unknown among American residents.

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:42 pm ET

@war_FF...Come now...You seem more brainwashed. Have you seen Noah's ark? Didn't think so. But, out of billions of planets, chnaces are good there are some types of life forms out there. Noah's ark is a myth that was rewritten in the biblical account. Even the most basic research would tell you that much. Do you know the difference between a myth (that may have valuable meaning) and a historical fact? Are you one of those people who believe people used to ride dinosaurs? lol

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:44 pm ET

Michio Kaku

Yes, we have no significance for aliens to even bother with this planet.

Cajazz76:24:8   April 30th, 2010 9:44 pm ET

Our greater concern should be running out of ice to cool out temperament toward the other never known...the culmination of our fear that created so much on our imaginations and cost the lives of so many...

Jean   April 30th, 2010 9:44 pm ET

In years gone by I would have believed in aliens when I saw the US program on TV about the invasion of aliens and that some people saw them and the movie/program of those who saw them were de-programmed.
Science fiction films have kept these aliens whether true or not alive in the minds of people.
Today, thanks to my godly spiritual enlightenment I am skeptical about them.
Those who are atheists and agnostics may believe in them more than religious people. Religious people know that God created the world and human beings. He did not create aliens that will scare us and harm us.
God created Satan and his fallen angels. These were proud, disobedient and rebellious. They refused to serve God and were thrown out of Heaven. At present they are roaming the world seeking souls whom they may devour for the everlasting cauldron of fire, those who follow them and refuse to serve God. I tend to believe that those aliens are Satan and his corteges.
Christians of all are warned about satanic cults, fortune tellers and the likes. I do believe that when people mess around those evil things, it may be that they appear in the form of aliens.
Nasa builds costly technology to seek out life and water on another planet. These people who do are not godly. They do not believe in God, want to play God and to take his place.
Let us just live our lives as best as we possibly could and in God. The day will come when the truth and all falsehoods will be revealed to us.
This may make you laugh but hopefully it is a hearty one and not a critical one. I am a practicing Catholic Christian. I have lots of "blest Holy Water" in my home and also carry a small bottle with me in my purse. I do make a joke and say, it is like the American Express Card advertisement, "Don't leave home without it", in addition to my Rosary Beads and other relevant prayers. If per chance I saw one of them or a few of them be it in my home or while outside, I will really let them have it with my Holy Water and the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. At the Most Holy Name of Jesus demons have to flee. By this you will know that I have my weapon(s) in God.
God bless you.

Dodie   April 30th, 2010 9:45 pm ET

@ Brandon

If they are like us, we will never see them..... we cannot even get out of our own solar system...

Brandon   April 30th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

And ya I realize that and ya maybe we will never find intelligent life on other planets but maybe we will get the technology to travel farther and be able to leave our solar system.aliens may be more advanced and what not but I just don't see why they can't be like our planet.not advanced creatures with flying saucers and whatever they could have vehicles and houses and citites like ours and they could be looking up into the night sky and wondering if there is life out there somewhere.

Alex P   April 30th, 2010 9:45 pm ET

the Fermi Paradox -there is not evidence of any life anywhere. Beleive in the evidence to date. You might as well as believe in the Loc Ness Monster if you beleive in aliens! The scientists are being speculative. What if they are wrong. What if we are all alone in hte universe.

I can't imagine President Obama as Commander and Chief of the Military giving the green light to such horrific and nefarious campaigns against law abiding American citizens.

Alien life, UFO's are from God from another galaxy are superior beings visiting us for many, many, many centuries. They are not here to hurt us, but to protect us. They have been trying to tell us for more years than we can count. One day in the next few years they will make themselves known Those of us that have been there, know

jack   April 30th, 2010 9:46 pm ET

@war_FF...Come now...You seem more brainwashed. Have you seen Noah's ark? Didn't think so. But, out of billions of planets, chances are good there are some types of life forms out there. Noah's ark is a myth that was rewritten in the biblical account. Even the most basic research would tell you that much. Do you know the difference between a myth (that may have valuable meaning) and a historical fact? Are you one of those people who believe people used to ride dinosaurs? lol

Larry, Every Govt in the world has proof of aliens and spacecraft, but they don't want the rest of the world to know what they have and that they don't want the world to go crazy if the information is let out... Earth has been visited many times over and over by aliens, its old news...

Alisha   April 30th, 2010 9:47 pm ET

I just don't understand why God would have created all of these planets and only take the time to put life on one of them. what a waste of time. Our life does not depend on anything from Jupiter so what would be its purpose other than to just take up space. I am not saying I do or do not believe in ET, however, for someone to deny the 'possibilty' is simply naive.

Of course ET's very likely have experienced an 'anointed one' among their cluster of humanity over many ten's of thousands of years and of course their name wasn't Jesus of Nazareth, thus the entire religion of Christianity would have to either adjust their theology or fall like a house of cards built on ignorance.

Roswell seems to indicate multiple UFO's collided with one another, they didn't as the laughing guest stated thought they simply crashed into the earth.

I spent the last several days studying Cosmology without knowing this interview would be on tonight. In fact I turned on the tv after the segment where Hawking gave his opinion. I came to the conclusion that yes there is other intelligent life in the universe. The reason being this: If life arose on this planet and gave birth to what we call intelligence then it surely will occur elsewhere as well. Just the part of the universe that we can possibly observe is so incredibly immense...we here on this planet are just a single grain of sand in all the beaches and deserts on Earth. If our single grain turns green with the color of life surely others must be as well. Theres just too many potential stars and galaxies for it not to happen elsewhere as well. Will we ever be contacted, contact or detect signs of life? Well, how can I say? If Hawking, who I view as a modern Philosopher, says yes then I won't disagree with him. He has spent time to intelligently consider such things and I have not. My few days of contemplating Cosmology is nothing on his devotion to the subject.

Cody W Stanley   April 30th, 2010 9:51 pm ET

Hi Larry,
I just watched the "Do you believe in Aliens show" and enjoyed it. There was one topic that I think the show was missing. In my opinion on aliens is I strongly believe they do or have existed. I'm more interested in the time for example; humans have just recently been introduced into the solar system and may not last for long. Try to hang in there with me because I think that aliens may or may not have existed before our time and have died out or maybe they haven't come into creation yet. I think your guests should have spoke a bit about that. Maybe next time! thanks Larry.

Cindy   April 30th, 2010 9:52 pm ET

Yes, they are cheaper here. They are probably responsible for the huge theft from the facility in Connecticut although that was a lot to transport to who knows where :-).

Wonderful interview with Bill Cosby! Thank you for the clip

Smith in Oregon   April 30th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

Bill Cosby went to work immediately following the days of the death of his number one fan (his son), was it utter denial? Likely only he could state that and just as likely is not going to publicly state that. I'm not sure how what Bill Cosby did in the days following his son's death in any fashion relate to the death of one of the LKL viewers.

RickFromDetroit   April 30th, 2010 9:56 pm ET

The interesting thing about this subject is, there is not any conclusions, but there is plenty of possibilities, and eventually, if time permits, we will find a solution, and I am sure it will be a positive one.
We know that somewhere beyond our plant there must be more than just empty SPACE.

Cindy   April 30th, 2010 9:56 pm ET

Thanks for showing the interview with Bill Cosby. That was a sad day; his son was a great young man, and it certainly reminds us of what's important.

Greg Mosley   April 30th, 2010 9:56 pm ET

Truly I belive that there are aliens that comes to earth. I once witnessed. Once night, I saw a light from the sky, like a falling star, but I knew it was not a falling star because it went into the woods. I did some investigation. A couple of days later, I saw a space ship coming from the water over the trees. I saw a little alien in the space ship, looking at me. The ship swiftly vanished in space. The next year, I saw the light(star) again. During my investigation at the pond, I called the alien's and all of a sudden, little stars were bouncing off the trees. I knew they were present becasue each time I said UFO, I saw the stars bouncing off the trees. Every so often, I see what looks like a falling star in the rear of my house.

Who is doing your research Larry????? If you would let Dan talk a little more, he could probably enlighten you! There are dozens and dozens of witnesses that came to Washington DC for a conference on this very matter. THE DISCLOSURE PROJECT!!! Almost every person in attendance was ex-military, radar technicians, pilots, ect. Futhermore, all of these witnesses swore there testimony too congress, to have congressional hearings on all of these matters.

This is so typical of your show to almost make fun of this very important subject.

Michael Rose   April 30th, 2010 10:00 pm ET

It is extremely arrogant, presumptuous, and short sighted to make the assumption that life beyond our planet would use the radio spectrum to communicate. Perhaps we need to ask ourselves if we are looking for the right signals. By the time a radio transmission travels across the vastness of space, and then by some slim chance is detected by us, the source of the signal maybe long gone. To effectively communicate across space would require thinking beyond what would amount to the technological equivalent of expecting a pair of cans and some string to communicate across the pacific.

I don't understand why it is presented in such an unbelievable manner that there should be life beyond our tiny planet. Is it such a shock that we are here? We have such a diversity of life that can live in the harshest conditions, organism that can thrive living on the razors edge of extremes from volcanic vents in the sea floor, where there is no light and just inches away sub zero temperatures. If life on this planet can live in these conditions, it can easily exist anywhere where there is a star with planetary bodies orbiting it.

Sure I believe in the likelyhood of extraterrestrials, the bible makes mention that a third of the angels fell from heaven and they fell everywhere. If I believe the bible (from a Universalist point of view) then I believe there might be other forms of life in exsistance out there.

inquisitive   April 30th, 2010 10:12 pm ET

Larry King tried to make it simple for the crazies out there, it was a yes or no question, no need for a recap on abductions

Ky'Anne   April 30th, 2010 10:12 pm ET

Here is your answer in science, religion, and anyting else you need to classify it under. I am fresh off the MOTHERSHIP and can explain what you are wasting time and money chasing. If you believe in evolution and that the earth is a result of spontaneous combustion...there had to be something there to create that...these aliens are what we call our Gods...they created us. That is why the bible tells you to put no other God before him. All of the various religions have their theory of God that they use to explain their creation, culture and likewise. The Bible God is Hebrew YAHWEH...father of Jesus...and the children of Israel yada, yada, yada. Each man has a soul that has an origin that exceeds what we know as a blood line. It is spirit. If your flesh had no would have no life. Who you are created by in spirit...will determine if you will have a heaven, hell, reincarnation or what ever you believe. The secrets are simple and hidden but man can't handle the truth. Our Gods are zillions of light years away and they are here with us in the form of angels, spiritual guides, demons, gins, and the like. And mental illness is exposes the battles of what you call aliens taking over. Look at the world. These aliens are playing you like fiddles...for they are competing for your soul! Andn if you like this story...I am a writer and have no idea what i am talking about.

Dr Dan   April 30th, 2010 10:12 pm ET

rosalyn eisner   April 30th, 2010 10:15 pm ET

I know that this seems like a made up story but it is 100%true. I am now a woman of 74 yuears and when my son waS about 17 years of age now (45) were looking out the back window at the deer that was out there and suddenly in the next field where only summer people live, there were the brightest light blinking very fast. we thought at first it was lights from, a snowmobile, or some kind of vehicle, buit there could be nothing that bright to light up part of a huge field. I sent my husband out to the road to see if the chain was still on the driveway down the road and there were also no tire tracks in the snow. we watched it for about 45 mionutes petrified to call the police, as they would think we were crazy. this kept up and when it lifted i ran so fast away ferom the window. I did not see a shape or anything else but those lights. Now it becomes spring and the people thjat live next door the come for the summ,er asked my husband if anyone had a fire in his yard, as the field had a hugh burn spot and a swarth of trees were bnurned. A week later another lady said that her mothjer saw the brightest lights blinking faster then she herself could blink. she lives about 2 mioles away from me. I am sure that nobody in this small town would believe this story, therefore never mentionmed it. I never beleived in outer space until I saw that. Thought it was only in the movies. I live on a coubtry road in Monticello Ny on a very quiet road.

Dorothy M Cooper   April 30th, 2010 10:18 pm ET

Larry, I just watched your show concerning alien life on other planets. I have a picture that I captured on my camera about five years ago in my backyard that clearly depicts some type of humanoid form. I have kept it all these years because I did not know what to make of it. I am an ordinary person with no scienttific background other than school and college. I just would like to know what your guests tonight think I captured. Can I get someone to look at it?

admiral vender fry   April 30th, 2010 10:20 pm ET

and the sons of god saw the daughters of men etc. first ones through are always the first ones through. only the time-line is a little different. go navy,to infinity and beyond. we are always being mistaken for gods, angels, demons, aliens, etc. we are Solomon miners using technology to hoodwink and gather metals. as the mines start to run out, an infectious bio-weapon(human carrier) is sent from the king to have a great feast with the learned people of the tribe, promising to come back one day, leaving the civilizations to collapse from the disease and the survivors not being able to rebuilt or understand their own writings.remember the blankets with smallpox that the pilgrims gave as "gifts" to the Indians.there's nothing new under the sun.

I would love to know what Stephan Hawking and the panel would think about the film of the orb making a crop circle. Could Larry cover that on his next alien show.

Maria Kenez   April 30th, 2010 10:26 pm ET

I like Larry King, but for tonight's show (Aliens) I think he should have selected at least one, if not two female scientists as well. All of his panel was male. he may think it does not matter to women, but it does. We want to be included.

@Dodie...I would love to levitate or fly around in a spiritual form, as long as it was a blissful experience. I prefer to make babies rather than have them , though. lol

jack   April 30th, 2010 10:39 pm ET

Wouldn't Larry's ratings sky rocket, for one night at least, if he scheduled a real alien from outer space on the show? Even a fake alien, like Fox had in their "Alien Autopsy" show would work , in a pinch.

jack   April 30th, 2010 10:49 pm ET

@rosalyn eisner...Thanks, That was a very interesting story with corrobative witnesses. Perhaps you should report it to someone who collects information on UFO s , like MUFON. It has the ring of authenticity. A true close encounter.

David Sereda   April 30th, 2010 10:56 pm ET

I have seen a flying saucer in a clear blue sky – Berkeley, CA 1968 – Once you see, you know and you believe. The others who don't believe just don't look up in the sky very often.

Lou   April 30th, 2010 10:57 pm ET

Next time you have one of these programs, instead of Dan Akroyd to represent the UFOlogy viewpoint why not have Dr. Roger Lier? His over 15 foreign object removals from patients is fact, not anecdote, and their laboratory analysis has revealed qualities (RF emissions, artificial structure, non-terrestrial isotopic ratio materials) that make a strong scientific argument that THEY are already here. It would be VERY interesting to hear the SETI response to his presentation of this information, as they so casually dismiss eyewitness and photographic evidence.

Same with Adam and Eve. If they were created perfect, why did they eat the forbidden fruit? I would say both stories are attempts to explain the human condition. Both stories are interesting, and may reveal aspects of a a shared superconciousness;but do they give us solid , rational explanations that really explain things to us?.

Given the vast infinite reaches of space one would be somewhat closed minded NOT to think that the're other forms of life other than that which exists on this planet. Intelligent life at that! Whether we've been visited or not is open to debate. However, I would say that life does indeed exist on other planets in other galaxies many many times over. This life has been documented many times in ancient civilizations, all though this is questionable and debatable as well, nonetheless, many ancient carvings, writings, etc... points to the existence of life from the stars.....

We are all star stuff!!

What Stephen Hawkings and the CNN Guests seem to forget is that a large bulk of UFO sightings occurred when America and Russia began blowing off Hydrogen Bombs in the Atmosphere and above ground tests which rained down radioactive fallout across the entire planet.

These UFO's appeared to be very curious and likely worried about US blowing ourselves up, go figure!

Keeping Humanity here on Earth in the dark about Humanity from other worlds is a great crime against humanity. Humanity here on Earth has been HIGH JACKED by utterly corrupt, nefarious and pompous evil people for their own purposes to pathetically cling to perpetuating the illusion of their superiority and power over Humanity here on Earth by keeping it isolated from the Universe.

We find that when the Pope forced the notion that our Sun was the Center of the Universe and the Earth was the first and only cluster of Humanity in the entire Universe placing themselves as the sole source of intelligence and spiritual empowerment in the Universe.

jack   May 1st, 2010 12:46 am ET

The mind is capable of doing the most interesting things imaginable. Our brain is allowing us to create, invent, make, search, entertain, and the most incredible of all, wake up every morning, like no species before us ever, have been able too. Our bodies, and the incdredible things it can do, takes a great deal of strain, to perform tasks day in day out, its incredible. S. Hawking does not use his body, therefore his mind is free to concentrate to extremes, ordinary people can not reach.... We Are Real!!!!!!

Lynn Cranford   May 1st, 2010 12:49 am ET

One reason no one has brought up as to why we have not been contacted by aliens is the fact that we are such a violent species. We war amongst ourselves for no realistic reason. Why would they want to expose their society to ours. We have sitings because they are studying us, maybe showing their race what NOT to do or be like.

Dodie   May 1st, 2010 12:50 am ET

WHY...are you afraid to interview the people who channel information from our higher consciousness? Why does this seem so outlandish and impossible to most people when throughout history, religion has used channeled information to work their own beliefs.

There is only one energy consciousness in all of being. All the actions and thought of each person effects the whole.
WHY is this so hard for people to grasp?

There is still too much cover up to even allow or broach the discussion that our civilization is a starseed.
WHY are the particular characteristics of humans completely different from all other species?

It's time to stop the cover-up and false protection of religion. Discuss these points and allow the opening of people's minds.

I and my family seen a UFO in alaska Aug 2008, it was a stainless steel looking cylinder 50ft. wide 500 foot long, it had no tail wing or side wings. It just floated there around 40,000 feet high above Pioneer Peak Mt Alaska It blinked when it moved which it did 4 times before just blinking away. It made no sound, It was not what we call flying.

Smith in Oregon   May 1st, 2010 12:55 am ET

It seems highly unlikely the Roswell inhabitants that were threatened by death and within a inch of their lives about the Roswell cover-up by the US Air-force MP's would have occurred over a weather balloon.

A weather balloon which would have been composed of balsa wood and common aluminum foil wouldn't have in any stretch of the imagination provoked such heavy handed hard core threats and abuse of the people in that town and surrounding area.

There is life out there somewhere be it single cell organisms or a much further advanced and complex life form. It is out there and like it has been said, they will know of our existence long before we are aware of theirs. I don't see them going out of their way to be a threat to Earth. Earth is relatively small compared to what exists elsewhere and not to mention far distant from any other similar characteristic worlds. From a hostile point of view, there would be no tactical advantage to gain in taking over Earth. Why travel light years to threaten a far less advanced species? I say keep searching. If alien life is far more advanced, it will not only be in technology but in brain capacity and reasoning. Most seem to view alien life as being nomadic in nature. Moving from planet to planet using up all resources and destroying everything in their path. I think human beings are plenty capable of accomplishing that here on Earth. An advanced civilization will not rely on such primitive existence.

The government is just brain washing people to believe that when the governmnt causes a catastrophe, they have someone to blame, aliens. Or so you brain washed people will believe. This shouid be a warning. Cant you see whats happening? The government is preparing to wipe out millions, if not, billions of people and blame it on these so called aliens. Aliens a threat to humans? Do not come in contact with aliens? Aliens are dangerous? Lol please, the signs are there. Your dangerous alien is the government. Any government.

Great show with great guest, nevertheless, the show does not offer enough time for the guest to voice their opinions. I watch the show every night and get tired of watching Larry interupt guest just to inform another commercial break. Do a favor to your viewers and let the guest who are educated on the subject talk.

I wish a cool alien like the guy in "The Day The Earth Stood Still" would come to the planet. He came in peace and as a teacher. None of your bad boy aliens. Keep them away. Don't want to make contact with a bad alien , no way, no how.

The majority of people will not take the bugs life and I believe aliens would do the same.

In regards to what aliens look like.... I belive they will look like us, they will be much more advanced of course being so many thousands of years ahead!!!

I think the show tonight was excellent. Its refreshing to see some REAL news and debates on CNN for a change. More people, scientists, high ranking officials, archaeologist, and the world governments really need to start bringing this stuff out in the open to the mainstream public and start drawing a line between fact and fiction. So much misinformation and secrecy surrounds this subject so its hard to make sense of whats true and whats not. For too long our governments have lied to us and held back technologies which could transform every human beings presence on this earth. That stuff going on in the Gulf DID NOT HAVE TO HAPPEN. We should have been away from fossil fuel drilling in the days of Tesla. With the release of extraterrestrial evidence means the releasing of life altering technologies such as free energy devices. Think about it technology continues to get faster, smaller, and cheaper. Energy technology seems to go at a snails pace and only gets more expensive as the days pass. If technology and knowledge exist that would enable humans access to free energy. That means our governments and corporations would have no way of taxing or metering our use. Those elite few would lose the grip of control they have on the planet and most of our problems could be solved. They don't want that and they make every effort to debunk and dumb down the public awareness that we are involved in something spectacular. We should all be a part of it, no more secrets. We can bring peace on earth by continuing to ask questions. The mainstream public needs to know about whats really going on. I believe we are all ready for the TRUTH......

Dodie   May 1st, 2010 1:10 am ET

What is the web site Dan Ackroyd talked about?

Ole Torp   May 1st, 2010 1:29 am ET

With the billion of galaxies, stars and planets, I think it there is other lifeforms in the Universe.
Do we want to meet them? Well, first of all the chance that these lifeforms possess technology which is far more advanced that we coulde ever dream of now is also high. Imagine our technological development through the last 1000 years – and let's say these lifeforms are technologically 'just' 100,000 years 'ahead' of us which could be very likely. And possibly far more intelligent than us. I think the picture is pretty clear – we do not want to meet them, as we would be extremely inferior. Imagine the picture – we are the 'dogs' and they are the 'humans' kind of difference.
Well, IF the earth has had visitors from other solar systems we must necessarily conclude that these 'visitors' possess technology far more advanced than us – we can't even put a man on Mars yet, and they can travel from way out there in another Solar system and all the way to the earth...and probably back. Not good for us. If they have been here, they were apparently also smart enough to realize that trying to get in contact with us was not a wise thing to do. They probably took a look at how we treat each other and our planet, and then took off quickly again...

Kudos Dan Aykroyd. I agree we are being visited and that they are stealthy. What I don't agree with, however, is that mankind is NASTY. Humanity has a good qualities too. There is good and evil. A duality. Those who only choose to see the evil in mankind live in hell. That is not what being human is. Seeing the good in others is human. The scientists are so guarded with what they say. They are worried about their "funding" I guess. Michio was cool.

David...the site Dan Ackroyd talked about is MUFON – Mutual UFO Network. Credible sites like this will guide the reader and researcher to worthwhile information. Another great one to look up is Project Camelot and some of this will blow your mind.

When asked why aliens don't land in populated areas, no one made mention of the incident that happened in New York back in 1989. The events were chronicled in a book by the well respected UFO researcher, Budd Hopkins. The book is called Witnessed and among the people directly involved was a high ranking U.N. official.
Without giving too many details, some the people involved had many years of direct contact and one of the alien concerns that was communicated in a very poignant direct experience was how humans are destroying the environment.

There simply cannot be random official backed claims to the presence of extraterrestrials even though a number of governments have released classified UFO information. There is a massive amount of work going on to prepare for disclosure and it will happen. Look how most of the fear has been taken out of this by all the movies, specials and marketing through the years.

Speaking of through the years, how do people really expect destructive world events and negative situations to continue the way they are going. Greed, war, disease, pollution, economy, hypocritical religion, manipulation and all the destructive mechanisms going on will not last much longer.
We are at the crossroads of a new global consciousness and once people realize the simple fact that everything they do effects the whole, we have the opportunity and ability to turn everything around for a happy and peaceful planet.

Also, do a little research into some of the ancient building sites in Mexico and Peru. There are stone cuts that could have only been possible by advanced technology. There are cut stones placed together with no bonding agent and with such precision that even today, a piece of paper will not fit in the joints.

Keep up the discussion.
(look that up as well)

Larry   May 1st, 2010 3:21 am ET

the only aliens that are a threat is he mexicans crossing our borders with drugs and guns. There own people ruined mexico and now are trying to ruin America. Isn't riding 10 to a truck illegal also? Rules and laws don't seem to apply to them.

I absolutely believe in life on other planets because I saw a ufo myself.
They've already arrived on our planet, years ago. If they really wanted to hurt us they would have by now. I'm so tired of aliens being displayed as little green things. I'm sure they're human, like us.
And out of billions of planets, why are our egos so big that we think we're the only ones?

David Jordt   May 1st, 2010 4:15 am ET

Larry King, re: UFOs tonight

Judging from the expressions of mirthful distain effected by 2 of your guests, UFO anecdotes won't bring them to the table. Only a mind-changing first hand experience can do this, a sharp high quality sighting of an intelligently-controlled, completely unconventional solid aerial object, observed first hand, performing quite obviously beyond the capability of any man-made object or propulsion system foreseeable in the future.

Six of us had such a sighting over New Delhi, India on July 22, 1969. It changed the way all of us look at things and reversed the opinion of our Harvard-PhD team leader, who started out like your two panelists tonight.

Being anecdotal, our sighting is worthless as scientific evidence, but confirms for us personally the validity of the extraterrestrial hypothesis.

Thanks, Larry & your fascinating guests, for an intelligent and inspiring discussion on the possibility of life beyond Planet Earth. Though I've never seen a UFO, I have no doubt that alien life exists throughout the Universe(s).
We are living proof that life flourishes in our little arm of the Milky Way Galaxy.
Many thanks!

There ARE aliens, but they are way smarten then we, when they come we, the humans, are gone, we have the ability to destroy ourselves, and we will do in time. The denial of there existence is only there to ease the people. but be sure of it : WE ARE NOT ALONE !!!

I beg to disagree with Prof. Hawking on the idea that aliens most likely are far more advanced than we are. It is all speculation but improvable. On the other side, I align myself with the tendency that we are the most advanced form of life in the universe. After all why not? All this fuss and fright about some bunch of magical, thin legged, slim headed ugly things with super advanced technologies and abilities are speculative fantasy, be it by Prof. Hawking by me! Fantasy remains fantasy.
The thing is: there is no life out there except the ones we create through our space explorations. The microbes and viruses, the garbage and rubbish we spread through our explorations will definitely mutate into space life. But they cannot be more advanced than we are simply because we created them out there. They are mostly occupied with mutative fight for survival than with creation of any super technology which they don’t possess in the first place.
The entire universe is there for us to "enjoy" the limitless challenge that it has given us: to master it. This challenge will remain limitless and therefore speculations will continue endlessly about the unknown in the universe.
If the search for an alien life is an acceptable premise for governments to invest in space exploration, then let that search be. Unlike respected Prof. Hawking, I would not frighten humans to stop searching for alien life. I would only say, “search, but in vain do you search!” The important thing is that exploration continues because it is a fundamental part of humanity: the quest for knowledge.

It's truly sad to see a genius like Stephen Hawkins engage in such nonsense.

I think the producer of the forthcoming T.V. programm on the Nature Channel paid him a lot of money, only to lend credence to his upcoming T.V. special

Ruben Espinal   May 1st, 2010 6:46 am ET

It is good to see some people talking about the citezens of other worlds that have been here before the Human race and since then, have visited. Funny thing is why Europeans believe that they are the chosen one to been visited, contacted or will save planet Earth from other then themselves? It puzzles me how the Caucasian mind is.
One have to just look at the Natives people of the world "NON-Caucasians" to learn the planet have been visited by other universal citizens. It is reflected in our temples, pyramids (to include Central and South America), and the drawing on top of the worlds landscape as in South America. So call aliens that the Caucasian world wants to call them have also worked in this planet. The Grand cayonn is not a natural made. Just as we do mine for minerals so have they have done.
Larry, tell these Caucasian aliens to ask the real astronomers and scientis of the past, our own Earth Natives.

ofcourse I believe in Alien life, Aliens are here and have watched us for so many years now. There is nothing creepy about that. they are just waiting for us to grow up. We are still children in every aspect.

I think it is unfortunate that Stephen Hawking has added his voice to a growing chorus of xenophobia and fear.

As a scientist, he should know better: Any interstellar civilization would possess such technologies that the meager resources of Earth would be unneeded. If you can travel faster than the speed of light, you can manifest what is needed

Ted   May 1st, 2010 7:33 am ET

We developed a sure system to decide if a being is alien or not:

Take one of his fingers and slam it with a hammer. If he cries than he is a human being and say sorry for the collateral damage caused .
If he will not give a tone, then the following may apply:
He is a real alien and you better run for the hills,
or he is an inmate of the local deaf/dumb institution. In this case you also appologize for the collateral damage,
or your hammer is too small, so get a bigger one.

We should make public this method in the border states, it may cut down the influx of the aliens.

Crazy Mike   May 1st, 2010 7:43 am ET

Not only are the aliens here, but the first public contact of humans and aliens will take place at Machu Picchu in 2012. Don't miss it!

AlienVisitor   May 1st, 2010 7:52 am ET

There is evidence of aliens, Betty and Barney Hill had a unknown substance on their clothes and car, Stan Romanek also had a strange implant taken from his body that looked like it was made of some type of nano technology. I have seen a alien craft before (no aliens) and there is no way what I saw was from this planet, and it wasn't just once so there is no doubt in my mind they exist, it's just a matter of time before the whole world will know. I say alien craft because UFO is unidentified and this was identified by me so it's no longer a UFO. 😉

I don't judge anyone for believing in aliens..... i myself do not believe in aliens at all..... one of the guest's on larry king last night a scientist i don't know his name.... but, he said that life started on earth and then migrated to other planets..... really well how did they get to these other planets by american airlines..... also, this same scientist said that the only planet that has water is this planet (earth), no other planet has water.... without water there is no life, water is life.... there's no way any life could survive without water.... if other planets have no water, then it's just common sense that they have no life either... if it doesn't sound right it's because it isn't.... what makes me laugh the most is that these scientists can't come up with a cure for the common cold, but they know there's life on other planets that they've never been to..... did we all go crazy...... come up with the cure for herpes, colds, diabetes, als, and ms..... not to mention depression, autism etc..... and, if stephen hawkins is saying not to contact them or try and find them, then that's it subjects closed.... you keep saying he's the most brilliant scientist in history then listen to him, and forget about it..... there's nothing left to talk about..... either you believe he knows what he's talking about or you don't... if you believe him then its over.... he saying there dangerous and to stay away from them..... so do it.... honestly, anyone you cant trust is an alien.... be nicer to eachother and make this world a better place....

Bluestrike   May 1st, 2010 11:44 am ET

Are we alone? No way, even if only one in a trillion solar systems have a planet with live there will be trilions of species.

Have Aliens visited our planet? Possibly, an African tribe celebrates for hundred of years the exitstance of a star thats only confirmed to really exist in 1962.

Are aliens hostile?
I think we have a 50% chance of meeting hostile or friendly aliens and I am sure both types are out there :-).
While superior beings might want to exploit us to their benefit, it might simply not be worth the undertaking, I think the chance that aliens are hostile + can adapt too our planet is alot smaller (gravity/air/...) while a friendly alien would benefit from trade.

Betsy   May 1st, 2010 12:00 pm ET

The media should stop listening to the "experts" (and governments)and let the people on the scene describe what they see and experience. If you all had done this from the beginning, we would not have so much pollution, better technology in all areas, and we may even have given up the habit of making war.

Our Space Brothers from Venus, Mars and other planets, are performing a spiritiual mission for Earth inhabitants. You need to talk to Benjamin Creme, whose upcoming new book is called Space Brothers, a Spiritual Mission

Lolo   May 1st, 2010 12:20 pm ET

With the world sinking into a state of insanity, it"s little wonder that misguided humans are hoping in vain that there may just be another planet they can ruin.

Does intelligent life exist in outer space? Indeed it does, and they are poised to take total control of earth and it's resources to the everlasting benefit of the entire human family.

The real answer to this question can be found in a book availale in the languages of over 90% of earth's inhabitants. Yet the so-called wisdom of imperfect humans,, always seems to supercede this notable and reliable source. That source is The Bible!

With all the valid issues confronting mankind, that nonsense such as this is given media attention, is an indictment on man's limited ability to chart his own course, we need and thankfully will soon receive help from One who truly knows how this Universe functions. After all who would know more than the Creator of it all?

Therein lies the problem, belief in a .Creator has been made to seem foolish. Time will tell whether or not that proves true and with man's track record for failure, we should pray that beleif in a God of matchless wisdom, turns out to be a reality, and I and millinns of others are counting on it!

Cajazz76:24:8   May 1st, 2010 1:57 pm ET

That scientist is a nerd to think, for a wisp of smoke from a dime store cigar, that all life started on earth. Just like it took 7 days to "create" the whole universe... ridiculous. To even suggest there is no water on another planet or on a clump of matter, winging through space, is equally as devoid of an imagination. What does he think some comets consists of? "Faith.. is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen"..Hebrews 11:1. Disneyland at the hand of man's shafted delusions. We are all aliens somewhere, to somebody. But the greater synopsis is, we are a silly human race...looking through the brown hole of ignorance..smelling the creative illusions of those who have gone before us...seeing an outlook from our past...hoping for a future fed by our imagination..cajazz76:24:8

I believe there are Aliens out there and here. I don't believe at this time they are a threat to us, unless of course they decided they want our Real Estate and if they do, it would be easy to take. In a flash.

They've been coming here since the begining of OUR time and many say they CREATED US and I believe that. If you read Sitchen's books, it is all explained in detail, how that happened.

I think we're more value to them AS WE ARE living our lives each day. They can come and take what they want from us while we're sleeping. Eggs, sperm, tissue samples and just whatever they need.

Just read what some of the Abductees have to say. It's very frightening.

What Mike M. wrote at 8:37 pm April 30th is right on the money.

im posting after watching last nights stephen hawking debate with larry king.first off i dont think we have anything to fear .because if you think about it every living creature has a sence of self preservation which would lead to peace on there planet eventually. it would take a planet wide effort to become a space traveling species.and for an entire planets worth of people to do that would require a peaceful gathering of resorces.theres trillions of planets out there thats not inhabited that carry the same ingrediants why would they choose one thats inhabited with a hostile race like us that uses nukes on them selves. for them to visit us i think will require us to stop all wars run all things on renuable energy repair the damege that we caused to this plant learn how to feed shelter and cloth the hungry . and then maby thay might visit us if not just to vacation here.
if you got questions i got answers feal free to ask

Taking a serious look at this, we are one planet out of an Eternal amount of planets; given our scientific technological developments we are far away from astro travel. To saw do you aliens exist, is to denounce all UFO claims here; transmission technology has quote "not" found life because it would entirely change the scape of the planet's peoples view.

Mainstream media, trends etc, would no longer have a purpose; instead people would be wanting to co-exist with these beings known. As it is the governments of the world, create laws and conflicts of various sorts that further limits life potential and living standards.

This being known commonly, aka the economies of world rippling, the government shows more interests in keeping the system working on archaic ways of resource development and at a snail pace process of allowing information that does exist to help along humanity.

UFO sightings can not be completely 100% false, UFO sightings and in history there is evidences of ET contact and ET interaction levels with various races of humanity. This question is as old as time itself nearly; the government is wanting to keep things the way they are; the gov responsible because they create laws and have an unjust authority to limit living potential and more/wars/making nu_clear weapons/etc

999,999,999 planets. out of every 236 planets theres 3 that carry water. thats 1,412,429. ok out of these 1/3 are like earth thats 470,809. again giving it to the skeptics lets say 1/100 haves life on them thats 4,708.and heres the fanalie lets say 1 out of 500 have intelagent life. thats 9 planets that have inteligent life. and where one of them.i gave all the numbers to the skeptices and we still end up with 9 planets .

No water? that's a bunch of crap! They have pictures of ice that melted and moved on mars, the rover took the picture on the side of a crater I don't know who said that but they are wrong, and what about all the ice moons of jupiter that they think could have liquid water under the ice? They even found ice on the moon's north pole, no water is the dumbest thing I ever heard, some comets are made of ice as well where did they come from then?

To think an intelligent man like Stephen Hawkings would say such stupid things. Comparing Columbus , a Human, and an alien. Then to answer a question about how an alien may look,, he responds with a scientific analysis, and comes up with , what?!? Why didn't he ask someone who has met an alien , there are many ( say 5% are real) .
But our science is very rigid, and obviously filled with holes , as Mr. Hawkings proves.

Elo   May 1st, 2010 6:31 pm ET

Dear Larry,

I have watched your show yesterday and I'm very sorry to say that the vision of Mr. Hawkings looked so primitive so fearful and unrationnal. Why increasing people fear with such a lie. How can people from other planets can come here to attack us, as the Maitreya Rael said in a recent press release and hopefully you have read it, he said that we don't need them to come here and attack us, we are enough stupid to do it ourself! and this is just a sentence of his point of view on Mr. Hawkings view.

Of course, I have a different way of seeing things since I'm Raelian and understands that people from other planets are in no way violent beings and harmful but have are very advance scientifically and that science is full of love.

My. King I hope you will invite Mr. Hawkings again but please bring some guests that will say the truth and will put on the air a real debate that the majority of the people in the world do not believe in such statements of Mr.Hawkings. Fear is not a solution! To bring peace, love and science in this world is the only way to save us.

Best regards,

Just for the record, I am sure I saw some type of alien in my bedroom years ago between 1965-1975. I believe I was between the ages of 5-13. These days I think maybe it was some kind of projection of an image from someone's machine somewhere perhaps-but I did see it. It was very similar to what I've heard a lot of people describe-lime green colour with evanescent features and dew drop supple looking skin. Everytime I opened my eyes to look at it, it would turn from whatever it was doing and just stare at me like in stasis focus on me and I understood that it was impossible for me to interact with it. I started to reach to touch it and froze , realizing that I shouldn't and also couldn't due to some invisible atmospheric impossibility. Then I would shut my eyes again, trying to go to sleep. Maybe it was the dysfunctionality which I was experiencing from other people's lives but I defineately saw the green man.

I think the UFOs may be bringing aliens who are checking out Earth for possible colonization. Their home planet may be dying or becoming uninhabitable.

Of course, they don't know that we are endangering our planet with global warming.

Lynn   May 2nd, 2010 2:48 am ET

I totally believe In Ufo's and other civilizations from space. I often send them telepathic messages and ask them If they are of the Light, and ask for a sign. The star ship will start moving around and flashing their lights at me. I feel a sence of peace come over me
I belong to Ufo share groups and also have met other's who have seen the ships in the sky. There are good and bad ones, just like in every race. there are good humans and bad humans + I challange Larry King to have some Real Ufo Experts on his show, Like Stephen Greer, James Gilliland, Greg Bredan and there are others. We need to hear both sides of the story, not take on the belief system of one man. I form my own belief systems, Instead of believing everything a person tells me, weather their famous or not. That's a form of mind control. I would also like to see Larry King Interview some of the millions of people who have had sightings. Are they all liers ? People are not stupid and asleep anymore. We know that the Government has been hiding It from us about friendly Et's. Anyway there are many already here on the planet who look just like us. Were all Aliens and come from differant planets. The good Et's bring us new Technology to assist us in cleaning up this planet. i Welcome them *

Well, the way I see things is, the Drake equation states that:

N = the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which communication might be possible;

R* = the average rate of star formation per year in our galaxy
fp = the fraction of those stars that have planets
ne = the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets
fℓ = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop life at some point
fi = the fraction of the above that actually go on to develop intelligent life
fc = the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space
L = the length of time such civilizations release detectable signals into space.[3]
[edit] Alternative expression
The number of stars in the galaxy now, N*, is related to the star formation rate R* by

where Tg = the age of the galaxy. Assuming for simplicity that R* is constant, then and the Drake equation can be rewritten into an alternate form phrased in terms of the more easily observable value, N*.[4]

For those of you who have no idea what that means that the universe is so vast and so large there would HAVE to be intelligent life elsewhere and most likely in abundance.

We once thought the Sun revolved around the Earth and we once thought that the world was flat. I think it's time we open our minds to the real possibilities of Aliens visiting Earth.

Also considering the fact that our water on Earth is so rare in the galaxy, it just may be worth Aliens attacking us to get it.

If you don't believe just watch V! HA! 😀

I truly believe that Extraterrestrials exist on this world, other solar systems, galaxys, in Other Times and Dimensions. My belief is from birth and is enduring. I Believe that the "Creator" is responsible for all life in All Worlds, Times, and Dimensions. From the beiginning of time, the "Creator" has brought about the Existence of Life Forms . . . those that we see and hear about today are of the Highest Order of Development, an "Actualization of Being". These Beings have the Technologies to traverse Time and Space effortlessly. Space Travel is by Light-Speed and Dimensional Jumps are common place. So far all Visiting Alien Life Forms have been Benevolent in Nature in Studying the"Original People" [the Indians of the America's; Especially the American Indians] . . . . ALF Study of the "Creators" Placemnt of His Children on the Americas was Considered a Paradise where All Indian Tribes/Nations would Enjoy a Slow but Spiritual, Mental, and Physical Journey to Enlightenment, Self-Actualization, Self-Determentation, Self-Government , , , the Existence of Life for the Indians was to be a Journey without Any Intrusions by Other peoples in other parts of the World. The Entire Americas where Completely Separte from All Other Land Masses/Continents (NOTE: American Indians Never Buy Into the Unfounded BS Theory of a Bering Bridge, and Migration of People from Rlussia and/or China). I regress . . . I've seen an Other Worldly Display of a Space Craft in the Pitch Dart Skys of a Land called Mexico, geographically several hundred miles north of the Aztec Empires Pyramids ... where Aerial Flight was Performed in Horizontal, Vertical, Oblique Angles at Tremendous Rate of Speed [Space Craft went from point A to poin be in Nano-Seconds), as well as Stop on a Dime, Change Directions of Flight; and Finally Disappear in a Blink-of-the Eye. I've had quite alot of Visual Displays in my life. Stephen Hawkings stated his concerns as to humans encountering ALF's, because these Aliens may be big, bad, with bad intentions toward human llife . . . SH felt that caution be used when Humans would ever encounter ALF's; and that ALF's would most likely do to Earthlings, as Christopher Columbus [the Spanish] did to the Native Americans on his Voyage(s) to the Americas. NOTE: As a British Subject/Citizen, I would hope that Stephen Hawkings Included the English/Colonists (and other Europeans) in the Equation of the Part played by the English, the Colonist (Subjects of the King of England) in What Physicists Mickio KaKu described Christopher Columbus's [the Spanish Government/Empire] Actions toward the Native Americans as "Genocide". Genocide is but One of the Many Words to Explain that there was over 90% (Plus) of All Indians [Note: the American Indian] Killed by the Onslaught of the English and Spanish (and other Eurpean) Explorers/Colonist who Purported to Be Christians ... Christians who Believe in God? Bottom LIne: Yes, I believed in Extraterrestrial Life Forms, and Would Hope to Communicate with My Other Worldly Ancestors, Who Were Witness to the "Creators" Establishment of a Paradise on Earth called the "Americas" to His Children. To Me, an Apache [Chiricahua Band] Wishes to Be Witness of the Arrival of Those Who Are My Lineage . . . the Cosmic Apaches who received the "Creators" First Blessing of Life. As One of the "Original People"; May My Vision Come To Be.

I don't understand why television always does this. They have a program about an interesting esoteric subject, but they go and enlist the lamest people on earth to give their opinions. Dan Ackroyd was the only one on that show that wasn't functioning from ego. I had all I could do to not throw a brick at the TV when one other guy was talking (lower left of screen). I don't know his name, because it's not worth knowing. So rather than an interesting and enlightening discussion, it was really a promo for the Discovery show.

If anyone wants to know WHY aliens would be considering our planet, just read Robert Monroe's book "Far Journeys". We have something they don't have, and it's not a mineral.

Tinker26   May 2nd, 2010 12:25 pm ET

I wish Larry would get some people on like Dr Steven Greer or David Wilcock. This show was nothing but fear mongering. I hope no one believes the lies. Afraid of what? Its a joke. I wish these folks would tell the truth that they have been here all along and are trying to help us without invading our God given FREE WILL. If more people would live by that one rule we could have a lot more peaceful planet.

Tarra Lynne Reeb   May 2nd, 2010 12:27 pm ET

Larry! Everyone knows (even dim-witted humans) there's NO PARKING in New York or Chicago!
har har! Love You!

gerald Jolly   May 2nd, 2010 12:27 pm ET

The question everybody should be asking is!

When you see a BOOGIE MAN" is it really a BOOGIE MAN or an ALIEN

When I was very young and just a little gaffer, my Mom told we if I did'nr behave and was bad, that the BOOGIE MAN would come and get me.

I was one of the baddest kids in my neiborhood, but the BOOGIE MAN, never came and got me.

But my grandfather told me a different story, and told me that if I was bad, that the Aliens would come and get me.

As a result of my badness, the Aliens came and got me many times.

The same as this rediculous story about Aliens is.

Celeste   May 2nd, 2010 2:17 pm ET

Dear Larry King & producers of your show.
Please Please stop this disinformation about "aliens" and tell the truth. They are definatly not unfriendly, they are only here to help us get out of the mess we are in.
And they definatly are here.

Cajazz76:24:8   May 2nd, 2010 3:03 pm ET

As an influx of immigrants migrated into a nation, inhabited by 'savages', the Europeans, starving for personal and religious freedoms, destroyed the cultures of an already growing nation. We chopped and we burned their societies in the name of a bountiful God, and placed them onto small plots of barren land and starved them of their birth rights.

Before we became an industrialized nation, we were a nation of farmers expanding westward to broadcast and reap all that was sewn by its native inhabitants, long before the United States of America was ever tabled as a nation.

In 1846 we began to sew the seeds of Imperialism in Mexico, watered it with our ethnocentrism, cultivated our jingoism, fertilized it with genocide, grew nothing but our weeds of xenophobia, to sell in a market place of agoraphobia, only to lose all profit to racial and social phobias.

Between 1846 and 1848, two fruitful neighbors, the United States and Mexico, went to war. It was a defining event for both nations, cultivating a continent and forging a new identity for its peoples. By the war's end, Mexico lost nearly half of its territory, the present American Southwest from Texas to California, and the United States became a continental power.

The legacy of any important historical event must be calculated from many viewpoints. The discussion of the legacy is a continual transformation because history, after all, is never irrevocable, as future generations confront for themselves the forces and ideas that shape our lives.

The issues raised during the U.S.-Mexican War are ones that are still valid today: the contradiction between stated ideals and actual practice; the distinction between a "just" and an "unjust" war; the ways citizenship is defined and identified in a multicultural society; and the challenges in building progressive and democratic nations.

Now, we are starving due to the inundation of both legal and illegal immigration across the borders of The United Mexican States, drowning from a hydrophobic irresponsibility of a Congress mired in the muck of putrid partisan politics, unable to hoe the legislation necessary to bear an edible solution. Before the eyes of the world, we, as a "civilized" society, are all eating crow, still salted by racial divide, unable to palate what true democracy is, universally undefined.

We look skyward for answers wondering if we are not alone, fearing of becoming the seeds for an invading alien entity. Who would want to plow through and harvest all we have failed at cultivating on a planet strewn with the fragmented roots of a silly human race?

How does a society dedicated to violence ever allocate it's resources toward reaching the stars and taking its hostile orientation to other planets? It doesn't. Simply put to gain inter-planetary travel means setting aside aggression and hostility as a planet wide mind-set – and reallocating resources toward planetary preservation, nurturance and growh. Only then can there by harmony and progress necessary to take the next step for a planet's civilization – outward – with peace and discovery. Hostile aliens is an oxymoron, put forth by someone who is married to a flawed scientific dogma.

first off id like to say this whole alien situation is a load of crap people of our universe say time after time rather it be to start a media craze,or just to show they are strange not too judgemental but really every flying object that you see isnt an "alien" we have so many military ways of transportation to one place to another and every unidentified flying object ive ever seen was in fact a military use mode of transportation, rather it be from fort bragg nc which is at least 20mins from where i reside or an helicopter from duke or carolina hospital.common sense people.then theres also the fact theres a very valuable resource in every book store, church, and walmart in the world called the bible which in fact states GOD created man in his likeness, man is not his own maker.he created everything around you that is NATURAL.the only thing anyone on this planet should be scared of seeing is the devil himself,in shouldnt be involved with religion, such as politics should be involved with religion.but as a 19 year old of THIS generation i will say this much, its awfully sad that there are people older than myself who SHOULD have much more common sense and knowledge than me that are stupid, and yes i said stupid, enough to think there are "aliens" out there.people like that should be morally ashamed of themselves because honestly, you are the ones who are supposed to lead your youth of today into an successful life, you are the ones who are supposed to be teaching the youth of today better things than some crap about aliens contacting earth and other bull crap, thats freaking i said earlier,i live not even 20mins away from a military base and never in my 19 years of living here have i ever seen something that DID NOT resemble u.s. military very sure id know if i saw something that didnt, and im really sure the men and women of the military wouldnt appreciate the fact of their own people saying that their aircraft is an "ufo" when they fight for us everyday because once again some of the stubborn, and inconsiderate people of this world like to start things such as rumors and what not.use your brains people!!! stop being immature!!!!

Since the beginning of recorded science there have been predictions of treat to earth. I think this is another scientific guese. It will amount to "well, we did not have this instrument before, now we know better" kind of stuff.

Lori Keeley   May 3rd, 2010 11:27 am ET

I am one person in this world who can assure you that there are higher evolved beings out there who are presently working with us to help us create a better world for all of life. Our government may have allowed higher evolved dark beings to enter this world, but there are beings of love and light who are here to help us create a better world for us all and soon, disclosure will take place to prove that whether people are ready or not....Why not report the positive Larry, rather than instilling fear? You are in such a powerful place to truly create positive change for this planet, why not connect to your spirit within, reach up to a higher place from within yourself and report the positive things happening on this planet Larry, there is more to life than just ratings and money...

I'm writing to express my extreme dislike with the show you aired the other night with Dan Akroid and the others about ufo's and et's. If you're going to report anything about ufo's get your facts straight. I demand that you have Dr. Stephen Greer, James Gilliland, Greg Braden and other Ufo
Experts on your show and also some of the thousands of witness's who have encountered these Sightings.

I also want you to know that I and many thousands and millions of people are aware of the truth that the mass media is reporting false Information to the public to Instill fear Into them.

I also know that our governments has been hiding many hidden truths from us as a people and that it's time for the truth to be told and time for justice to prevail.

If you want your show to survive Larry, you'll shift your thinking and reporting to bring forth the truth vs. the lies and fears you're offering out of a disconnection to your own spirit from within....dig deep's in there.....

Just so you know the energy of the earth has shifted and only efforts which have a soul are going to survive so you may want to rethink your motivations.

Thank You!!

Lori Keeley

Doug   May 3rd, 2010 12:27 pm ET

Of course there are other life forms out there. You'd have to be a complete idiot if you don't believe that. Do you think humans are the most intelligent life form in the universe. Give me a break. Most american are too stupid to realise that they have been sold out. Even you Larry King who just spits out what every you are told. Just like all journalist. If you were real journalist you'd go out and find the truth and then have the guts to report it. But you will all see soon that you are not the most intelligent life form out there and that a more inteelignet life forms will know the Universal truths of loving and respecting one another, not like the human life form who distroys and uses and abuses everything in it's path. Thank God there is intelligence out there and I can't wait to meet them,' cause you human life forms just don't get it.

Joanie Houston   May 4th, 2010 7:11 am ET

Yes, there are galactics. Yes, the government tis attempting to instill fear. The only recommendation I would give to all is that when the Galactics make first contact (on a major scale), if any doubt arises to the people they have appeared to, all that is necessary is for the people to ask, "Are you from loving light?". The galactics, under Univeral Law, must answer immediately. If they are not of loving light, they will go.

In fact, we should all get in the habit of asking everyone the same question. There is nothing to fear. We have been trained like lab rats over thousands of years to be fearful. This is what stops our acting out on behalf of Univeral Goodness.... The truth is becoming apparent on a second to second basis. What we should fear is OUR FEAR. That is the most destructive force around.

Suzy Ellen Star   May 5th, 2010 7:19 pm ET

My god man, where have you been hiding???????? Under a rock?????
Here you are sitting in a prime position with a show that is aired for virtually millions to view and you present something so stupid and un-enlightened that it borders on insanity.
There is case after case, even in the bible, of extraterrestrial visitation. Our ET brothers and sisters are so advanced in their technology that they could bounce the earth around like a "ping pong ball" if they so chose. Wake up man and start sharing the truth instead of promoting the evil of the dark forces that would keep us in bondage as they have for eons.

Crystal   May 5th, 2010 7:42 pm ET

We tend to project what we know from ourselves and from the world around us whenever we imagine and talk about something/someone else. And thus, about space people. What do we know from our human history? That most of times, any power has been used in violence, to exploit and abuse. And thus it takes little to project the same hideous image on space people.

Two thoughts:

Superior advancement imply two parts: spiritual and technological advancement. Normally, the more someone is spiritually advanced, the more he will be using his power for everyone's good.

Not all extraterrestrial life may be well intentioned, but we are having space brothers and sisters long before we existed as Earth's humanity, and if their intention was to conquer and exploit, they would have since long found Earth and since long passed into action.

So how about wondering for a moment? How about thinking of those among us who are using our power to care for and help and relieve those in difficulty and in pain – isn't there a very good chance that we are being since long similarly cared for by our space brothers and sisters?

Kathleen   May 6th, 2010 12:14 pm ET

I know you do'nt get it, Larry but these are your brothers and sisters from space where you yourself came from. It's wake up time on planet Earth. For your own sake "Wake Up".

gerald Jolly   May 9th, 2010 10:53 am ET

About Aliens or not.

In my opinion Aliens do exist.

We know that they have not arrived here as of yet, but I'm sure they exist on their own planet.

I am sure that if we were able to reach one of their worlds, they would consider us Aliens as well.

As far as whether Aliens exist on earth or not, I believe many confuse Aliens with the BOOGIE MEN that exist on earth.

What I find most strange is that only children acknowledge that a BOOGIE MAN does exist, and adults do not.

And what is even more strange is that children do not believe in Aliens but adulys do

I personally think that anyone that believes in either one, needs to go and discuss this with a phsycologist, and find out about their mental state, that way they can be sure if BOOGIE MEN and ALIENS do really exist.

Candy°°   May 9th, 2010 10:59 am ET

Funny .. this subject is enjoying a lot of attention all of the sudden, wonder how comes?!?!

Is it suddenly allowed (any WHY?) for such a renowned scientist to openly speak about a subject considered classified for years?

besides, it's a bit to late to worry about aliens finding out about our whereabouts .. we polluted the universe with so many radio messages already, they might be on their way to us already 🙂

I think it would be arrogant or naive to assume that human are the only life in the universe. That being said, I am not eager to meet anyone from another world.

Smith in Oregon   May 9th, 2010 6:43 pm ET

Obviously Aliens are a threat to the corrupt money and power hungry leaders of nations and religions on earth who do anything including murder to keep their precious hold on their perception of physical and spiritual slavery over their people.

Do Alien's have faith? Obviously traveling over great distances in the University denotes a great deal of faith and harmony not only with the culture of humanity where they originate but also harmony with the Universe itself. In short Aliens have a great deal of true faith, much more than found by self-titled religious leaders on earth.

Evil people make a living and strive to keep their power over people by fanning the flames of FEAR.

There is nothing to fear from our brothers and sisters of other clusters of humanity. In fact there is everything to gain from our brothers and sisters from other clusters of humanity.

Shirley Cunnungham- Marion, NC   May 9th, 2010 9:10 pm ET

Yes, there are aliens. There is one in the white house!!

Smith in Oregon   May 9th, 2010 9:19 pm ET

For a full 50 years, 1/2 a century the US Military has directly harassed UFO's which clearly bend the laws of known physics here on earth and are obviously not from the cluster of humanity on earth as it's origins.

Humanity on earth should rise up and demand US and other World leaders immediately stop their militant, belligerent and hostile actions to UFO's that are seen to bend the laws of known physics by radar traffic controllers and visual observers on the ground.

A nation or country should immediately invoke a UFO welcome and safe zone across their entire nation and land mass. Face up to the fear mongers and reap the rewards of their courage and compassion.

Steph   May 9th, 2010 9:21 pm ET

Aliens, of course they exist and even among us without us knowing. A threat, you will know who is a threat and who is not. Love will guide you, follow your heart. Anyone who has fear needs to settle it, believe in Love and you will find no fear. Lightships will appear and will eminate no fear, remember turn to the feelings in your heart not what you hear from others and the ego of the mind, always follow the heart.

Namaste to all.

Allen   May 9th, 2010 9:22 pm ET

Aliens do exist. It is hard to fathom that out of all the planets that this one is the only one that has ever had life. But we first must define what we most consider life is it molecules moving or a being that has the ability to problem solve. And whatever to that "metorite" that went over Iowa about a month ago. It was very large and as far as I know there were no pieces found and there was only talk about it for a day or two. Aliens or top secret gov't testing, maybe both ? Until they land who knows what is really out other what the images that hollywood creates and the speculation of sciencists.

Keith Smith   May 9th, 2010 9:23 pm ET

It is an interesting show. I would like to see an honest discussion of the theory of evolution including problems and holes in it. The theory of spontaneous generation was finally disproved in the 1800s by Louis Pasteur. We laugh at the people who believed in that theory. Yet, evolution depends on that very thing as its foundation. At some point life came from nonlife. That fact cannot be explained.

Kathleen Garone   May 9th, 2010 9:27 pm ET

Ref. Aliens; Do I beleive in them. Absolutely, guaranteed not. Humans on earth is it. There are no exact duplications in the human species. A variant exists in every human. There are no two snowflakes alike either. There are no living "aliens." We have angels, however. I have faith that one day there, will be a scientist who looks outside the box; someone who understands there are unseen items, like the air we breath, our personal thoughts, stuff like that. And learn to be grateful of those unseen things. There just are no "aliens," per se. There could be living organisims of a sort, like a mushroom/ fungi. Point being, it is more what you do not see, than what you do see. Really.

Kathleen Garone   May 9th, 2010 9:28 pm ET

They are not a threat because they do not exist.

Alvin   May 9th, 2010 9:31 pm ET

I am commenting on this story, because the guest concerning aliens have it all wrong. I am currently in the presence of aliens. I have been since April 10, 2010. I can tell you the medical treatment I have been getting is beyond our thoughts. I will be coming forward with proof soon. The answer to whether aliens are real can be found in the bible. I came into contact with these aliens as a result of me fasting and praying and calling on Jesus. He appeared first and later they revealed themselves in his presence. They are on our side. They do exist and we probably have been in a silent war with them for years!

Mack   May 9th, 2010 9:35 pm ET

This is a serious subject. Why is Dan Akroyd on making a mockery out of science?

Professor Bashir Zulqarnain   May 9th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

I watch your show regularly, and presently I am watching your program with Professor Hawkins with keen interest.

The answer to your question of the day is very difinitely YES. I firmly believe that other forms do exist, but this belief is not because of watching shows on TV but because I have, with my own eyes, seen UFOs in the early 1950's when sightings were reported all around the world, including Asia, Africa and Europe. I also believe that the explainations given by governments about UFO sightings DO NOT represent what the same governments actually believe.

Both UFOs and alien forms of life very difinitely exist.

Jim   May 9th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

I hear people asking questions like who, what, where and when. But I don't know WHY anybody is talking about it NOW, let alone someone of Hawkings stature. Or Akroyd for that Why break this news now? Secondly, we can't get along with each other on this planet. How are we going to deal with issues coming from another planet?

Bill   May 9th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

This is a very good program examining the threat of ET's .. it's real and people need to realize they are real.

ryan   May 9th, 2010 9:42 pm ET

Yes they do exist and they have been living among us for some time we just dont know it yet.

Eric Messerschmidt   May 9th, 2010 9:42 pm ET

In my humble opinion I think it is almost impossible for there not to be other life, not only in our universe but also in parallel universe's. The theroy of parallel universe's is gaining support and would explain away a lot of problem's that space travel presents to physists. We can only perceive the universe around us with the limited senses that we have. Other life forms my have many more senses and in their advanced state have devised ways to travel from universe to other universe's occuping the same space.

Samantha   May 9th, 2010 9:43 pm ET

There have been so many astronauts, pilots, and other military personnel who have gone to congress trying to get information out there about alien life and the government is silent on it. I feel like there's tons of information out there and the government doesn't want to scare people by releasing this information.

I think something will definitely happen eventually to make everyone believe.

They would show up for conquest, exploration/research, or resources.
If conquest- they have the high ground.
If research- they will stay hidden
If resources- we could have a problem.

To think we are alone would be naive.

Elizabeth   May 9th, 2010 9:56 pm ET

Yes, I believe in ETs. Why don't you have Dr. Stephen Greer there on your show?

In answer to Misho Kaiku: We are not insignificant to them. We are quarantined, in a manner of speaking. Many are simply waiting, following protocol, until we grow up.

A few are renegades but we are generally protected by the nice ones.

Ultimately this is a spiritual scenario/ situation.

They are here already, simultaneously sharing space but undetectable except through higher states of consciousness. We are not alone. They are not hostile, They want us to be free. They have hovered, at the edge of history. Waiting and hoping, we solve the mystery.....the mystery of love.

Some "incarnate" as humans.

The "shadow government" covers up evidence, obscures evidence, distorts and creates smokescreens and is no longer under constitutional oversight.....its a rogue government

Ultimately, we will evolve into "self conscious, responsible ethereal, spiritual beings in an ethereal cosmos....side by side with other "intelligences" ie. ETs. We are all, in fact, more or less, ET's.

I am, yours truly, a 1975 grad of Princeton U. with a BA in religious studies.

If aliens are more intelligent they will contact us and if we are more intelligent then we will contact them first – but what if they are like us – we will never contact them? So this argument is false that the intelligent will contact the lesser intelligent first.

Then we do know that there is an ecosystem and we also have experienced entropy – then adding an alien to our ecosystem will hurt the ecosystem which will have an affect on our concept of entropy.

Nature has a balance – and the concept of alien disturbs that balance –

Contacting aliens can end up in 2 ways – good or bad (in terms of the balance) we know that entropy is a major part of out physics – an alien contact can only end up in a disaster – at least for us because it is an alien to our system.

The only thing I can say is that the total sum of this universe is constant – we probably just transform from one form to another – there are no "foreign" agents in this system of our universe. So if there is alien life it is just another form of us.

vral89   May 9th, 2010 10:08 pm ET

Well I have seen a UFO and the odds say we cannot be the only life out there. What I saw was clear during a meteor shower. Two parallel traveling objects flying accross the sky and then all of a sudden the objects change directions. Not a slight change in direction but a complete 90 degree turn so one object turned left the other turned right. No collision could be seen with no dust trail. I know of someone who had area 51 clearance or groom lake clearance in 1950 and they had tv's and high powered night vision scopes they were allowed to study. They were not allowed to go public with anything they saw and if they did there employment and severence would be terminated along with many more rumored things. He said he saw many things involving tech that would have shocked people even today. I'm not saying that aliens could exist I'm saying they do exist, they have been here for a long time; but how long is uncertain. Also I think people are right about he fact that our planet is just a small speck and why would they even notice us. They sous notice us though because of the planet and it's resources along with the curiosity of any life form to observe and study another. The day will come when you will with your own eyes see

jason   May 9th, 2010 10:12 pm ET

why is this new news? don't get me wrong, i like that the news is talking about aliens and the universe rather than the immature drama on earth. but i didn't think that anyone doubted the existence of aliens. i thought the only doubt was whether they were coming all the way to our planet just to probe our people and never officially say hello.

if they are visiting us secretly, it must be because we're too immature for them. there may be some government conspiracy. i doubt it but sometimes i really wish it to be true because the level of senselessness in the world is astonishing and secrets and conspiracies and mystery make it a little easier to swallow. you see the world events every day and you think "how can the world be this stupid? there has to be something deeper" and history shows that the truth takes decades to surface and that the general public is often mislead.

if aliens smart enough to travel here are violent, they'll win no matter what. so it's nothing to worry about. we need to abandon our archaic rockets and build an elevator to space.

the biggest problem i have with colonizing other worlds, is that everyone being stuck on the same rock is the only reason the cold war ended.

JAC   May 9th, 2010 10:20 pm ET

How narrow minded we are! The world's top scientific talent is being paid AS WE SPEAK to form mathematical proofs of superimposed dimensions (T.O.E.)... are we not being unabashedly arrogant when we assume that these "aliens" operate within the same dimensional constraints as humans?

I have a lot of new found respect for Prof. Hawking.
In my opinion he was bang on with the asteroid theory.
– A side note, perhaps with our evolution and the current climate in the middle east, theology will allow for discussion of some things that for very long, were indeed, not discussable.
A great metaphor for this topic I think would be:
"If the answer is not simply right in front of your face, but on your face, it's impossible to see without a mirror."

Good show Prof Hawking!

Thank God!

Finally real proof that Aliens do exist.

Today, thank to Hollywood Movie Producers, I watched three hours of absolute evidence that Aliens do exist.

The proof began at two P.M. when I watched Independence Day, followed by Aliens and Terminators, and finally became convinced when I watche AVITAR.

After this, I became convinced that there are Aleins living among us.

I am very suspicious of the lady next door, that seems to stagger just after the delivery boy from the liquor store makes his delivery.

I think the delivery boy is a Aliens as well because he always comes out of my nieghbors house with money in his hand and a big smile on his face.

Please comment..

Hi Larry,

I know that extraterrestrial life exists, because of what I saw back in the summer of 1978 ~

My girlfriend April and I were sitting on the dock of my cottage, on Skeleton Lake, 14 miles north of Bracebridge, Ontario, Canada (kind of remote, that's how I like it). We were listening to my transistor radio; it was after midnight and the guys were inside the cottage. We had consumed no alcohol or drugs and were just enjoying the cool, rather misty night, and each other's company. We worked together at an advertising agency during the week, at Yonge Street & Eglinton Avenue East in Toronto. All of a sudden, we heard a very faint whirring sound behind us overhead, and both looked up above the cottage roof where it originated from, at the same time. What we saw there was this – a large, silver object which appeared perfectly round, beaming some kind of light on us. Our jaws dropped, and we simply sat there frozen, stunned and terrified for a few seconds – which was how long it took me to receive a silent communication which was,"you're afraid". Then, the object took off upward, resembling what I could very loosely compare to the Roadrunner in the old cartoons when he was under chase, said "beep beep", and ended up way beyond the mountains on the horizon in a matter of seconds. Only now it was who-knows-how-many-miles directly above our heads (this was probably what is known as a "hyperspace" move); it then did a slow rectangular trajectory, then disappeared behind a cloud. Then, perhaps it joined with something else, because what we witnessed then, through the clouds was a huge mass of light moving up, up and away into the northeastern sky.

I lay awake that night, half-expecting "little green men" to come knocking a the door. Our husbands were kind of in disbelief at our shared experience, I guess you can't blame them – but we saw what we saw, and looking back, I now consider myself extremely lucky and perhaps even chosen to have had them come and observe my friend and I that night ... it was definitely the highlight of my life.

I would love to hear from others who have had sightings!

Smith in Oregon   May 10th, 2010 12:04 am ET

In the early 1950's as family members were getting off work in Northern California, a small scout UFO drove down to the Main Street at Car Level and moved down that street at a speed of roughly 25mph. Family members along with multiple police cars followed the slow moving craft as it clearly levitated itself down the empty road.

They followed the craft for nearly 2 full miles until the Main Street ends at the Harbor and Pacific Ocean where the craft continued, the Police and family members were all forced to stop their cars, climb out and watch from the shoreline. What a surprise this was seen by multiple eye witness's including a half dozen law enforcement officers up close and for a considerable length of time and there is 'NO MENTION', zero, nada in its national and domestic exposure.

Prior to this event Northern California as much of the Eastern Seaboard was exposed to many UFO sightings, including those directly around and over Washington DC and the White House itself during the 1950's.

i have hadf an experience, and it happen to me at 10 yrs. old,and it would cause my family to wake from their sleep.what i saw was something that i have never thought of,and i was before the movie e.t. ever camr out,and i would eventually be seeing this movie around 7 months later.and all i could do while this movie was playin, in a really big theatre, was flashback to the night i seen the 'flying object' that awoke me from my sleep. And caused me to sit up and pull my curtain back to see a huge object sitting with different color lights flashing away in our back yard.i was already shakin' from something and didn't have a clue in mind of why.but the oject had me scared before i seen it.and then when my eyes came in contact with this object,i had an instant feel of shock. And i was already in shock!what i seen has never let me view the world the same.and i really think they have 1000's of years of 'technology ahead of us and that we are tryin' to be the same as's just a matter of time before we really cross paths.we will, and when that day comes.then we can deal with it,but on a short note,i think we should not try to communicate with might send this world into a real panic over what could happen to us.but it might be jst a way of them tryin' to tell us something as if they are sending us a sign that we need to think about 'we aren't the only ones'.they have been trhough it before, and they can see we are going down the same problems they we need to start lookin' ahead.

SamBow003   May 10th, 2010 12:51 am ET

Why wouldn't certain aliens be interested in us? You keep saying we're so primitive that they wouldn't be interested in us, but maybe they have different cultures and technologies. I mean Afghanistan isn't as technologically as advanced as the U.S., but we're still interested in what they are doing. Maybe some alien species are interested in us if not for any other reason than curiousity and learning more about their own history. Other races probably are not interested in our little piece of the puzzle. What else are people seeing all around the world?

Everybody Listen:

Life is matter in form with function described by DNA or molecular structures. DNA is a property of the universe and transposes all of the space and time thus life is everywhere in the universe. All of the scenarios are valid described by Steven Hawking but is not limited to only his perspective. If dinosaurs the size of buildings down to the size bacteria exist by way of DNA structures then the universe contains our simple subset of life forms and many more. If you are a Human Being = (Organs (Cells (Molecules (Atoms (Sub Atomic Elements))))), then everything that is made up of these have to contain life in itself. Thus the entire material universe is alive but our mere 5 senses only afford us a limited human perspective of the whole. Like a skin cell understanding the complexity of the entire brain structure.

We are way too primitive for aliens to bother with. Think of all the basic understandings of our existence we've discovered only recently. We didn't even know we were floating around on tectonic plates until a mere 50 years ago. We're definitely too primitive and maybe even too dumb.

Ben Fesenmeyer   May 10th, 2010 1:43 am ET

When I was young I read a comic book about an alien looking for the universe that he had come from in sand grains of the earth, Jody Foster may have visited such a universe in the film mentioned by your guest.

Also the ghost buster was confusing his beliefs with science theory.
Beliefs have no facts to back them up and cannot be verified. Theories have some facts, but are difficult to prove, (as in Darwin's evolution).

Many people say "I think" when they should say "I believe".

TONIGHT, FOR THE FIFTEENTH NIGHT IN A ROW...I shot 200 or so photos and got an hour or so of uninterrupted TAPE (not digital) of primarily ONE UFO but there were many more. They are here every night for the last few months. Last night I captured the smoking gun. See my YouTube slideshows under "chefpetey"
This is a copy of a mass email I just sent out:

The phone number disappeared with your message...didn't realize it was in my email.

Give me your EMAIL cuz i wanna show you some REALLY GOOD PICTURES.

Overwhelming isn't the word. There has to be a dozen of them last night.

The big one...maybe mothership was opening like a clamshell again...and this time I BUSTED HIM.

Something metallic...a structure...built by intelligent beings...was standing tall in the bottom half...maybe a launcher.

On top of this I have 1:15 of uninterrupted video tape of this thing changing and contorting...along with the voices of all the passers-by whom I stopped to look through the viewfinder. WTF are these things? I FEEL CERTAIN THEY ARE HOSTILE.

I ALSO FEEL CERTAIN IT IS of all people. For God's Sake I am an elected official...and a REPUBLICAN one at that!

When it is in its nine-sided zoom in and see all those little black holes in one shot and in the VERY NEXT the holes are filled with PEARLY ORBS and a shot or two later they are gone and we have little black holes again. Maybe fired into the atmosphere?

All My Best,
Pete LeVan

Without a doubt, UFO's appear to be very curious about certain events and moments in humanity on earth's history. There was a virtual explosion of UFO sittings and incidents when America and then Russia began blowing up Nuclear Bombs in the atmosphere.

If the three wise men were UFO scout craft, doesn't that analogy make the US Military King Herod that would murder anyone including new born infants to continue it's iron fisted control over people?

It seems like the US Military buzz words for UFO's follows a similar tired and mindless dialog which sadly has been fed to and accepted by News Media for decades.

Your show on Stephen Hawkings' commentary of aliens was absolutely embarrassing to anyone even remotely scientifically oriented. First, the use of the term "space aliens" completely demeans the subject matter and casts an air of being ridiculous. Extraterrestrials or simply aliens would do fine, or exo-solar organisms if you'd want to specify a living thing from a planet orbiting another star.

But worse is the choice of people to interview and discuss thee subject. The subject of aliens is a biological one and NOT ONE biologist was asked their opinion nor included in the panel. Stephen Hawking is an expert on cosmology and physics but knows nothing more about biology than you do, and possibly even less than that. But his ego wouldn't allow him to admit he doesn't know everything. The same is true of ALL other panel members included in the show.

Dan Akroyd at least was honest enough to say so, as did the science fiction author to a degree when he wasn't busy obfuscating around his opinion on some questions. And then you let the panel get sucked into the same insult fest between whose more ridiculous; the UFOlogists who've yet to produce a single piece of physical evidence or the SETI people who foolishly think that any electromagnetic signal is worth sending, much less waiting thousands of years to listen for.

To know animal behavior requires us simply to know the behavior of organisms on Earth, animal behavior in particular. And while we can't guarantee intelligent organisms will be peaceful in their potential arrival it is safe to assume they would target their own or other species on their world for aggression long before they reach us. If they should enhance their behaviors either through social institutions as we have or evolve toward less violence intraspecies violence as can be seen in the Argentine Ant that will have to come before they can harness enough energy to destroy their home planet or render it uninhabitable.

See how easy that was? An analysis from someone with an associates in biology who takes the subject of extraterrestrial organisms seriously.

Dear Larry, Dear Dan,
Saying that aliens are breaking a law is a bit funny for me to wrap my mind around.
I mean we are to the aliens like dolphins are to us.
Are we breaking "dolphin" laws by incarcerating them in tiny tanks so we can be entertained?
Or how about "tree" laws? We destroy billions of trees a year.

Those who've done their research upon the Sumer history, those will find that they've been creating technology and aircrafts from BC times. @C. E. HUTCHINSON April 30th, 2010 9:20 pm ET

Read Genesis 6 and the Book of Enoch. "Aliens" are fallen angels.

They will return. As it were in the days of Noah.....

This is exactly what I thought........."Aliens" are fallen angels.......yes called DEMONS. They can masquerade as anything........even as ANGELS OF LIGHT.

There is the other type of "human alien".........and they are usually referred to as people from a foreign land (immigrants). There is a passage in the Bible that says.........."to look after the alien in your land".........LEVITICUS 19 (New International Version Bible).

Actually there are a lot of passages in the Bible referring to aliens. You can GOOGLE it if interested to find out.

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   May 10th, 2010 8:32 am ET

There are spiritual beings and these are the angels (good) and the fallen angels (demons). As for any other life forms on other planets........I don't think they exist.

Planet earth was made especially for man. The Bible holds the clues. Dig into it and you might find out.

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   May 10th, 2010 8:38 am ET

People do see things, I only wish I could, but I haven't as yet. Maybe just as well. Maybe they target only certain people...........hmmm!!

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   May 10th, 2010 8:40 am ET

I think there is life beyond Earth..........but it is in the spiritual realms.........which man cannot reach.

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   May 10th, 2010 8:45 am ET

By the looks of it.........this really is a HOT topic. Really gets people going!

Thank you for your access to the kind of participants:
Michio Kaku
Stephen Hawkings
Dan Akroyd

You really moderated the show, meaning you made it moderate.
You appealed to authority, scientific authority.
Science has its own epistemological shortfalls.
The methods of knowing:
Isolate and define and
repeatability of an experiment
Isolation from all influences is impossible.
Heisenberg contributed to quantum mechanics
with the uncertainty principle.
There is an observer affecting of that which is observed.
There are ever changing conditions within the zone of any and every experiment.
Appeal to authority is a specific deficiency,
well known to philosophical undertakings.
You muzzled the best prepared person and the best informed person: Dan Akroyd.
There was no reference to Dr. John Mack's work,
a Harvard psychiatrist,
Neither was there any reference to Dr. Stephen Greer's work.

A concerned epistemologist,
Zee Charmoe

Hey, I am an alien from New Zealand, come to invade your blogs. Watch out!

Vladimir Rubtsov   May 10th, 2010 10:30 am ET

Yes, if Aliens exist they ***may be*** a threat, Stephen Hawking is certainly right. And hardly we are the first in the Galaxy. Of course, it does not mean that the Aliens ***will be*** a threat. Anyway, some past events might be considered in this context – say, the famous Tunguska explosion of 1908.

@ Carl Heck.

Thank you for your post.

Like you, I firmly believe that Sarah Palin, Glen Beck, and let me add Rush Limbaugh are definately Aliens.

They cannot possibly be humans, because humans do intelligent things, unlike those three morons, that never seem to say anything intelligent and truthfull.

If you noticed they are all about the same age, so I suspect they all arrived here on the same MOTHER ALIENS SHIP.

Thank you for bringing awareness on this issue.

Does the average American citizens know how many Aliens are in our country right now.

Bare in mind that illegal immigrant is reffered too by our State Department, as an Alien

The State Department claims that there are 8 milliom illegal immigrants in our country.

So therefore Aliens most definately do exist.

I've always believed there are other wisdom lives outside out galaxy which fascinated me since I was a child. The follow stories that I want to share with everyone: several years ago, a friend of mine showed me a picture that he took from his home-a silver flying object flew above at the sky just above his house, he said it flew very fast and with some 90 degree turns that no human made planes could do. After pictures taken, he called some of the air bases in our state to ensure his find-there was no practice in his area in that day. Ever since he become an avid UFO fan and being a member of one of those organizations.

A colleague saw a picture from her mother in law, a large & perfect black circle mark on the lawn. Her mother in law then was about 3 or 4 years old, one night awoke from slept in her parents' car, while on the way home around 9 pm, three of them were bewildered by the extra bright sky above their heads. The next morning, there was a perfect big circle burned mark in their back yard, It was a big news then in their small town in Maine, all the reporters nearby were flocked to her home to interview the family. Unfortunately she was too young to remember what exactly she witnessed in that night, but the unusual bright in the sky that still remembered vividly in her memory; also ever since that night the big circle burning mark could not grow back any grass.

Both accounts happened in a remote areas and I firmly believe what their experience of. Definitely extraterrestrial lives visited us before, they maybe wise enough to find that this earth was not an ideal place for them to invade.

Did Hawking encounter extraterrestrials before? The continue of exploring to space shall not stop our curiosity & seeking the truth by expending our hands to outer space, even though with the warning from our respectful Mr. Stephen Hawking.

Why yet ANOTHER repeat programme? I thought Larry King was paid fat? He seems to rest a lot for a guy getting such a large salary. Why not get a younger presenter and stop all the repeats altogether.
