New Yorkers, you just got a tiny taste of what people in Iraq and Afghanistan go through every day!!
We can thank our good luck that those idiots did not know how to make a proper bomb, or perhaps this was done on purpose to remind us that we are not immune anymore and stop bombing other nations. The eggs we lay come home to roost.

What's this??
Has Larry hired some new RHYME WRITERS to his staff??

IKHAN   May 3rd, 2010 12:41 pm ET

Hey Larry,
what you say is so true. We have to rethink our policies.
thanks God that the threat failed to work. I hope & pray and am absolutely positive that the law enforcement would have the culprits in custody before long & we would know who these scums are.
Pakistani Talibans taking the credit is a lot of bull. With Pakistani Army beating the hell out of those barbarians, killing them in scores they are desperately trying to look defiant.
Taking credit & committing a crime are two different things.
Our arch enemy Osma Bin Laden rejoiced over 9/11 & so did Israelis dancing gleefully on a roof top & filming the horror. Benjamin Natanyahu said that 9/11 has been "very good for Israel" (I'm quoting the well known columnist Maidhc O Cathail writing for Japanese & Irish magazines)
So what does that prove??
9/11 was certainly not good for us Americans,we lost thousands of lives. Thousands more precious American lives were lost when we attacked the wrong country & the wrong people. We are still reeling from the repercussions of Iraq folly & now see the futility of continuing Afghan war.

Even if it will cost another million bucks and another ridiculous Nobel Peace Prize to answer for, I think Borak Obama should do more of those speeches. When he companied he made it look like he be ending wars. And that by now every nation, tug and dictator would be loving us.

During the horrific Republican led Bush-Cheney administration, immediately after this Amateur Hour terror act in Times Square occurred, they would have directed the US Justice Department to:

Enact a 5 day Waiting Period on the sale of all used Nissan Pathfinders!

gerald Jolly   May 3rd, 2010 6:57 pm ET

@ Smith in Oregon.

How very true.

IKHAN   May 3rd, 2010 9:03 pm ET

@Smith in Oregon

aptly put.
If instead of Bush-Cheney amalgamation of stupidity, arrogance & vested interests this nation had real leaders with statesmanship, the world would be very different & a much better place. And the specter of terrorism would not be haunting us like it does now.
Obama has the right sense of direction concerning vital issues of our foreign policy if only he is left alone by those who find it hard to swallow the fact that a person of color is in the White House, those of the far right, our 'closest' allies, lobbies, special interest & those harboring demons of misguided ideology.
The sole objective of & the extent of vision of the Repubs is to somehow unseat him as is that of loony movements like the Tea Party & those infected by the same mutating virus.
Lets just hope & pray that we as a nation do not let our leaders & those holding the reins in Washington run amok & lead us into more wars.

It would not surprise me if this 'suspect' who was arrested is probably a scapegoat, so the slaves in America will feel some false sense of security, as this "amateurish" car bomb attack was 'thwarted'. The slavemasters who run the USA don't want the people to realize this was an inside job, by americans, for americans.
The Corporation, um, er Government does not want John Q. Public to realize just how easy it is to strike back at the elite who are stealing your tax dollars and laughing all the way to the Caymans. Coincidence that there was a Bank of America in close proximity?
In my opinion, this "thwarted terror attack" was a warning to the 'haves' that the 'have-nots' are tired of the imbalanced capitalist machine and to show the world just how easy it is to strike back, as the working stiffs who built America don't have a "Lobby Group" to lobby for fairness. It's nice that they found such a friendly sounding word for influence peddling, as the American Corporat – er Government has never been corrupt (another topic entirely). Either way it's time to level the playing field, (as anybody with an IQ above 95 would be able to detonate such an IED) otherwise it's "gonna get ugly" on Main St. USA. Was it a Michael Moore flick with the quote; "The people are coming"?
After all, it's WE THE PEOPLE, RIGHT?
