Kate Gosselin falls to the bottom of the pack on 'Dancing with the Stars'

Posted: 08:14 AM ET

Kate Gosselin was horrible on Dancing With The Stars. There's no other way to say it.

She scored a 15, well below her nearest celeb competitors Chad Ochocinco and Niecy Nash, who both scored 18. Kate smiled more this week, but that didn't cover up her stiff foxtrot movements.

Judge Bruno Tonioli said Kate's pro partner Tony Dovolani would have been better off dancing with "a coat hanger." Carrie Ann Inaba compared her dance to the teacher's voice on Charlie Brown. Waa waa.  Len Goodman said she did "a stroll," not a dance.

If she's not voted off, a lot of us will stop watching. If she stays on the show, it's a cruel joke.

J.R.   April 20th, 2010 10:10 am ET

Yes Kate should go. She relies on sympathy vote to keep her on the show. She isn't that good, to stiff and no relaxed movements.

Barbara   April 20th, 2010 10:56 am ET

Well, if she hadn't spent the week hitting the talk show circuit, and doing book signings she may have gotten a little practice in, oh, and been able to spend some time with those 8 (count them 8) little visitors. She needs to go home.

Cajazz76:24:8   April 20th, 2010 12:23 pm ET

It's more than obvious she is not making distinct efforts to learn to dance, She wants what we all want.. an easy life, but she does it at the expense of her children and even though marriage is a two-way journey she always appeared to take the one-way highway...her way, or no way. I will say this to her supporters who keep her on...she is funny to watch. I did want to gag when she said her kids "live for Mondays", when the rest of the country is saying 'Oh hell it's Monday'...butt Kate, less eight, is bait...for the fish that can't tell the difference between reality and a farse and her growing arse antics...I hope those children are not stepped on as she dances her way toward her fantasies...

Cindy   April 20th, 2010 12:28 pm ET

Kate makes too many excuses for simply not putting in the effort and time. Like her or not, she should not stay. I wonder if a partner of someone like her is paid more since it's obvious they have no chance of winning the additional money at the end.

kathe   April 20th, 2010 12:42 pm ET

Oh ya, time for her to go. That was real sad last night. And who is dressing you? Your outfits just don't even compare to the others.
Sorry Kate find something else to do.

Maeve   April 20th, 2010 1:54 pm ET

We can only hope she walks into the sunset. It is a travesty to watch someone with so little dancing talent, clump across the floor like an old plow horse. Time to regroup Kate. Go home.

Theresa   April 20th, 2010 3:00 pm ET

Yes, Larry...I know that you think Kate Gosselin is great!!! You think that way because she probably brings in ratings for you. Why don't you spend a day with her..I bet you'll have a change of opinion. This woman boggles my mind. She's a no talent actress, no talent author & last but not least absolutely not a DANCER!!! ABC should be ashamed for having her on...all the other dancrs put an effort into this project. Ms Gosselin can't handle that she's not in control. Tony CANNOT be treated like she treated her ex on their show. Enough with how tired she is...she chose to take the chance of having there she has what chance gave her!!!She even state last evening she was sooo tired because of her 8 little friends. My goodness she must have been tired because aren't they her "kids!!!!"

Dodie   April 20th, 2010 3:17 pm ET

Kate is a party of one! Unfortunately she has left the best part of her behind, her 8 children. One day, Kate will realize her children will not have the connection she desires and will wonder why.

Kate, it is not too late. Fame, money, all of that is useless if you do not cherish your connection with others, especially your children. It is within the relationships we have with others ….that living becomes valuable not just existence. Our most cherished experience that will carry us through life is the connection we have with our family, loved ones, friends, etc. Without this, we have nothing.

There is a wonderful song that reminds me of Kate: … by Cat Stevens called ….. ‘Cats In The Cradle’. The song is telling her story!

Theresa   April 20th, 2010 4:01 pm ET

@ Dodie.....curiosity got the best of me...I know the song, could hum the tune...just checked out the lyrics...& you got it spot on!!!!!

Sue   April 20th, 2010 4:52 pm ET

Maybe she could be in a Budweiser commercial at the Super Bowl next year as a Clydesdale. No wait, they move more smoothly than she does. She needs to go home and take care of her kids.

Gerald Jolly   April 20th, 2010 5:37 pm ET

In defense of Kate Gosselin.

Her dead beat "X" cant pay the child support mandated by the court.

Her only source of income large enough to support herself and her eight children is what she can earn by whatever means that are at her disposal.

Can she dance "OF COURSE NOT"

She was not invited on DWTS for her dancing ability, she was invited because it brought much higher ratings (IE) higher revenue, than most of the other guests bring in.

I think it's time for folks to cut her a little slack, and appreciate what this woman has been put through by the "SWINE" she married, and the negative press, that clamor for anything they can get readership on in their gossip rags.

I often wonder what many of the women on this blog would do if they were in the same situaTION

Theresa   April 20th, 2010 6:24 pm ET

@ Gerald Jolly........if I had 2 beautiful healthy children which were produced with the help of fertility drugs...I would have been satisfied. No, Kate wanted notoriety.....& that she has. When she had the twins..she had to put a sign on their stroller...the GosselinTwins. Never have i seen any other family with twins that have to advertise them. This woman is a nurse...she took the fertility drugs because supposedly she wanted just !!!! Now, tell me...she already produced twins with fertility meds., so,maybe Ms Lightbulb should have anticipated more than !.(she wanted just 1..that's what I meant to post) They could have adopted a single child after the twins...but weren't ready. So,pray tell...why would you take fertility meds if you weren't ready for just 1????? By,the way...her dead beat X as you call him...didn't want anymore children than the, I shall not give that woman any slack. She asked for 1 more...well she got that plus more so, now she has to take care of them. Maybe if TLC would've let her "Deadbeat X" work other than their network maybe he wouldn't be as much a deadbeat as you proclaim he is. remember people it takes 2 to tango...& since kate can't dance I think from watching their program that might be as much effort she put in her marriage as I see she puts @ rehearsals for DWTS!!!!

Cheers   April 20th, 2010 6:51 pm ET

Kate may be a nice person but she doesn't have what it takes to be a star or a dancer unfortunately. It's too bad she didn't take the positive feedback she was given last week and continue to improve her dancing; it just didn't happen.

Candy-Lei   April 20th, 2010 7:00 pm ET

@ Theresa and Dodie

I agree with you. Oh, I checked out the lyrics to that song. Cat Stevens ‘Cats In The Cradle’ You are right on the mark.. You must be into music and know your songs very well.

Theresa   April 20th, 2010 9:11 pm ET

I just saw Ms Gosselin accept her defeat...but of course we had to see those darn tears. She's the only one I've seen that they let talk on & on. I guess I wasn't very charitable because I had the channel changed just for me!!!! Come to think of it ...those tears were probably because she kept thinking of those $$$$ that weren't going to jump into her pocket!!!!! She'll be good night's sleep & the pen will sign away @ that book tour which is more her way!!!!

Cajazz76:24:8   April 20th, 2010 10:31 pm ET

Bet you have your dancin shoes on they have steel toes? You are well wired in your perceptions of Kate the ' buffalo prancer''re quite funny in your blogs tonight....

Theresa   April 20th, 2010 10:39 pm ET

@Cajazz76:24:8.......I hope you're not insinuating I'm being mean. Actually I love to dance but because of those darn strokes I can only dream. I'm certain Kate must have a special talent but darn it I just can't perceive it!!!!

Cajazz76:24:8   April 20th, 2010 10:49 pm ET

Not suggesting your mean in the least know how to tell it like it is...even if it hurts... You have the most humorous way of expressing your opinion at times, and I really like it...always a pleasure to get your blooding running...hotttttttttttt !!!!

Gerald Jolly   April 20th, 2010 11:04 pm ET

@ Theresa,

It's so refreshing to have an expewrt like you on these blogs.

You must have a very difficult time absorbing all that knowledge you have.

I for one did not know that Kate took fertility drugs only so that she could have sextuplets.

Tell me, you're an expert on fertility drugs, would she take them all in one shot or over a period of time.

Your comment about "IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO"

I was not aware that Kate was also having affairs with multiple partners the same as JON WAN was doing.

Tell me, Theresa, did you ever have kids that lived???

Also tell me, and please be truthfull, are you telling the folks on this blog that in a dance contest you would beat Kate???

After reading your blogs, I think DWTS made a serious mistake by having Kate dancing when they could have got you for a very reasonable price.

C'mon Theresa give us your expert opinion on how a mother with eight children should refuse to go out there and try her best to earn money to support a family the "STOOGE" Jon is incapable of supporting.

OHHHHH! I know!!! He should have gone on the DWTS show and did some pinwheels with his A.T.V., you know the one he bought, to play with rather than pay the court mandated child support payment.

AH! now I got it, he should get the whimpy 22 year old broad he screwed around with to join him in DANCING WITH THE STARS.

WOW WOW WOW Would'nt that be terrific HU!

Theresa   April 20th, 2010 11:35 pm ET

@ Gerald..why on earth would you say even in jest that I'm an,no,no!!! By the way ..where did you get the idea that I said Kate Gosselin was having an affair..that idea was construed all in your mind. It take 2 to tango only means it take s2 to make a marriage or relationshp work. Now,c'mon you knew that...didn't you. Now, gerald that comment about me having a child that lived.....why on earth would you phrase a ques. like that. It certainly sounds very unkind? You know Gerald it would have been nice if Kate would've tried her best...I think she thought she wouldn't have to put any effort & her darn ol' fans would just skim her along. Now,if you missed those segments of the rehearsals I'll give you a quick review....even her dancing partner threatened to quit becaus Kate thought she was the teacher but guess what...surprise she was informed her idea was NAUGHT!!! So, Gerald the way of the world is that all people don't like each other & guess what ..your message came out loud & clear I'm not in your good books ...oh, well..there's nothing I can do about, I'll just say GOOD NIGHT!!!

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 3:48 am ET

@Gerald Jolly

You should apologize for several of the off color remarks you made to our friend Theresa. She needs to express herself freely on these blogs and not be in fear of a personal attack she received from you. I was especially appalled by a comment you made in reference to her children and you know Theresa is recovering from a very serious condition. I know your a very considerate person and would never intentionally hurt anyone's feelings so deeply. She left here tonight in poor spirits and she needs our support. She can more than handle criticism, but few here can handle an over-the -top comment. In the heat of our opinions it happens...I have done it myself and regretted it and hopefully have atoned for them....

Gerald Jolly   April 21st, 2010 8:43 am ET

@ Theresa.

Well Well Well Theresa, I guess last night was a night to celebrate for you.

Sorry to say, you wont have Kate Gosselin to bash anymore, I guess that made you very happy.

I have never made any derogatory remarks towards you in the past, but you, made a statement directed at me personally, well before I replied to you you.

You see I believe in the phylosophy of "AN EYE FOR AN EYE"

If you attack me, then be prepared for the consequences.

Having been raised by a widowed mother that suffered greatly while doing so, has taught me to respect women over all, and I will till my last breath defend any woman that is willing to make sacrifices for the good of her children.

You personally attacked Kate for the method that she is raising her children and for her dancing ability.

Please tell me, what makes you an expert on dancing skills.

Theresa, the whole world knows that her dancing skills were less than average, "SO WHAT" she was there because she had an opportunity to make some money, "FOR HER CHILDREN"

I respect motherhood above all else, but I would not, and could not critisize any mother that will do almost anything in the best interest of her children.

As you claim, you are the mother of a child, and got no help from the father of that child while you were rearing him/her.

To what length would you have gone to insure your childs well being.

It is not a good or decent thing to pre-judge another or the reasons they do what they do.

You critisized me for the comments I made about kATE, BUT YOU NEVER "never" PROVED TO ME OR ANYONE ELSE ON THIS BLOG THAT k

My ending comment was, IT'S TIME TO CUT THIS WOMAN A LITTLE SLACK, but you elected to pre-judge her and her motives, thereby atempting to make yourself an expert on the matter.

Gerald Jolly   April 21st, 2010 8:52 am ET

@ Cajazz.

I'm sorry if my atempt to try and make Theresa understand that Kate Gosselin does what she does because it's her way to finance and cope with her situation.

I think you will agree, she has taken a lot of undeserving flack from the media, the public at large, and even bloggers on the LKL blog, while the gutless swine that was her husband blames her for the "AFFAIRS" he had with women much to you for a creep like him.

Jon Gosselin is not that good looking a wimp (MAN)?? so it speaks a volume aboute is able to B.S. young girls so that he can bed them.

He is trash, garbage and a swine, not for what he did to Kate, but for what and how he continues to exploit those eight precious little children.

That was all the point I intended to make on my comment when I said it's time to cut Kate a little slack, and not be so judgemental about her reasons for what she does.

Theresa   April 21st, 2010 11:34 am ET

@ Gerald Jolly...Good day to you!!! My,aren't you in fine form!!!! Yes, I'm glad Kate Gosselin is off DWTS. I watch the program for entertainment..hoping the ones that start off with no previous experience improve, show some positive feedback. & enjoy themselves. But Mr. Jolly ..I saw none of the above from Ms Gosselin. Each wk. we had to hear how tired she was, how much she loves those children of hers. Really, how many parents truly don't love their children & want the best for them? I don't need for a person to tell me how much she /he loves their children & wants the best for them!!! But when Ms Gosselin speaks of wanting the best for her children ..that's exactly what she means...the best clothing, the best hotels to stay in , the most expensive vacations. Hawaii, dude ranches, ski vacations with all new clothing &equipment. Why not just spend some quality goodness she has several nannies to help. I'm sorry but I'm tired of hearing all the time from her mouth I'm a single mother & have to do it all on my own. YES, for the millionth time I think we all got the message. Please do me a favour & watch some of their old shows ..some of the real Kate comes out & yes she is 50% to blame for thedemise of that marriage. So, you might think their ex is a real creep but Kate that dear woman wasn't always a saint!!! p.s....for the 100th time will you please stop inferring that I'm an expert in anything!! Any woman who takes fertility drugs knows full well that thereis a possibility of multiples so you better prepare yourself. Her mother said she wanted twins & friends she became enamored with the family that had septuplets. That's all i have to say!!!!

Dodie   April 21st, 2010 12:01 pm ET

In a marriage.... divorce both parents must assume responsibility. The irresponsibility comes into play when Kate and Jon decided to have more children through the use of 'In Vitro Fertilization' after birthing twins without medical intervention.

The irresponsibility comes in to play when the thought process is: "I want what I want" and not a care or thought in the world on how to care for and support those children. Both Kate and Jon have this 'self-serving' personality trait and who are the losers??? Of course, the children!

@ Theresa April 20th, 2010 9:11 pm ET
Loved your wit and humor! Very cute! You stated: (I guess I wasn't very charitable because I had the channel changed just for me!!!!)

That makes two of us! I just could not stand to watch it either!

Ted   April 21st, 2010 12:20 pm ET

@ Theresa

Do not take Gerald Jolly seriously, he has his bad days, mostly on every single day!!

We all voice our opinions based on experience, reading and seeing things. We are not required to prove an expertise on the subject!
I personally change opinions on a subject just tp provoke a verbal fight, however would never insult a person unless he/she insulted me first. It is just a poor character to get personal on a stupid argument.

Theresa   April 21st, 2010 12:28 pm ET

@ Dodie...before someone attacks you for not knowing the exact info...our friend Kate did not become impregnated thro' IVF...she used fertility meds...I'm certain a fan will come out from behind ..since it's such a nice day where I live weather wise ..I didn't want you to be the bull's eye on the dartboard. I hope you're having a good day @ work!!!

Gerald Jolly   April 21st, 2010 12:55 pm ET

@ Ted, thank you for clarifying my attitude.

Oh! by the way.

You're not the type of person who insults others.

"ARE YOU????

Gerald Jolly   April 21st, 2010 12:57 pm ET

@ Ted.

You have just won some significant "BROWNIE POINTS' with Theresa.

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 1:56 pm ET

Gerald Jolly & Theresa

Glad to see you both back in the ring of feisty debate. I was certain last night you would both not be on chatting terms today. Your both very much what free speech entails...self expression, assembly, petition and debate. When I turned on the computer at noon today and saw you both had been blogging, I stopped and thought for a moment what a wonder it is to have that basic freedom.

Then I picked up the morning newspaper and saw the Supreme Court in an 8-1 decision guarantees protection to those who possess and distribute videos that depict wanton cruelty to animals. Though it is disheartening that occurs and is itself illegal to torture animals, the protection is for those who view it for knowledge or for the pleasure of those who are intrigued by such vile acts.

So my point is that to insure we have the rights afforded to all, certain broad liberties must be considered for protected speech.

Now why can't they look at the legalization of marijuana, as opposed to alcohol or cigarettes, and offer protection under the law to those who use it for medicinal purposes or even pleasure...It is truly a case of cruelty to deny either, especially when incarceration of so many is the answer to an unjust and unreasonable law. The law itself is the crime...when a substance like alcohol is legally distributed..

Why should so many, like Candy Lei, have to suffer from conditions that can be alleviated through cannabis use and also have to live with the debilitating fear of incarceration.

I again will state that the population of the United States is only 5% of the world's population, yet 25% of the world's population are in U.S. prisons.

We, as a nation spend more to incarcerate individuals, such as the 685,000 or so, arrested each year for marijuana use and possession than does the People's Republic of China spends to protect itself from the world...

Maybe it's the fear of death that causes the continued prohibition of is a list of causes of most deaths in the U.S. obtained from 'Drug Facts. org.'

Tobacco435,0001Poor Diet and Physical Inactivity365,0001Alcohol85,000 1Microbial Agents75,0001Toxic Agents55,0001Motor Vehicle Crashes26,3471Adverse Reactions to Prescription Drugs32,0002Suicide30,6223Incidents Involving Firearms29,0001Homicide20,3084Sexual Behaviors20,0001All Illicit Drug Use, Direct and Indirect17,0001, 5Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs Such As Aspirin7,6006Marijuana07

Common sense for the common good is what is needed on this issue....not more fear of the unknown..

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 2:01 pm ET

Please note the last digit next to each statistic is a reference number..marijuana deaths then would be ZERO...unless you count those who die in prison for being incarcerated for its use and possession. I don't have a statistic for that but there are suicides related to arrests and imprisonment in that regard...Again the law is more criminal that the purported crime....

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 2:09 pm ET

Help me to decipher the statistic above that denotes 20,000 in the U.S. die each year from sexual behavior...I just want to hear you common sense answer...

Theresa   April 21st, 2010 2:18 pm ET

Good day Cajazz76:24:8...I certainly appreciate that I live in a democratic country. So, I feel that it is my duty to utilize the freedom of speech that some honourable military personnel fought for m to have. I certainly enjoy a debate...I was thinking that Gerald Jolly & I should hold a truce since Ms Gosselin will do just fine in anything she attempts to do. i could add a comment that mihght not be too nice so, for once I shall bite the tip of my tongue & just enjoy the sunlight. I do hope her troop of 8 have a successful childhood & future. They certainly have had enough emotional trauma for their young years!!!!

Theresa   April 21st, 2010 2:26 pm ET

Well, Gerald I think it's been almost 24 hr. Ms Kate has been the topic & since she's no longer a candidate that shouldn't be...what say a truce shall be formed & we go on to another topic?

Theresa   April 21st, 2010 2:38 pm ET

Cajazz 76:24:8.....I'm just curious..when the topic of legalizing marijuana comes up...I'm just interested ..have studies been done for any health problems with long term use.remember the tobacco co. stated how nicotine was not harmful. i find it ironic...with all the no smoking laws now marijuana will probably be legalized in the, do the same laws apply. I find it foolish that possession gets a person a criminal record(it does ,doesn't it)& sexual assault , domestic abuse 1st timer ,a slap on the wrist. Pedophilia ..there's another farce when it comes to sentencing. For goodness sake..even my staunch Baptist mother the last yr. of her life...said she'd use marijuana if it was legalized because of horrific unexplained , comtinual pain!!!! Iwas on hydromorph for horrific pain became obsolete since it didn't help anymore. I don't think marijuana is any more detrimental...couldn't use it since I also have severe asthma . My husband smokes those nasty cigarettes ..only outdoors & never in my presence ,not in any vehicle I'm in because it will bring on 1 of my severe asthma attack..I've had a few where I almost died..I'll tell you it's a scary situation!!!

Gerald Jolly   April 21st, 2010 2:40 pm ET

A Theresa, truce declared.

Truce accepted.

By the way, I dont disagree with the majority of the things you post.

And I will apologize for my rudeness.

Not to make an excuse for my tirade.

It's just me and my pledge to myself to always defend the underdog, particularly women underdogs, that sometimes cannot defend themselves.

I soncerely hope you have a great and happy day.

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 2:47 pm ET

Correction...25% of the world's prison's population is in U.S. prisons...

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 2:50 pm ET

Gerald Jolly and Theresa....

Peace without war....a novel concept....should be a book written on that one......

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 3:07 pm ET

Marijuana like any substance on this planet can be assessed harmful..It is true that the tars for marijuana are more pronounced that are those from tobacco, but there are several ways to use it than can greatly reduce those effects.

Willy Nelson mentioned one on the LKL show he did. It basically evaporates/burns the tars and leaving the THC, the intoxicant, available for ingestion. Another is to use a can also be used to make tea, edible foods and I am sure there are other ways not yet discovered. There is also a drug called Marinol that drug companies have made, but it continues to be more effective to just smoke it.

The U.S. government used to spray paraquat, a defoliant, on it in Mexico and South America to try and eradicate it. Because paraquat is so dangerous they were banned from using it in the U.S.

A lawsuit filed by NORML..National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws sued and forced the U.S. to distribute information on how to use marijuana that had been sprayed or thought to have been sprayed with paraquat...

It is also true that marijuana is an intoxicant and should be warranted the same precautions as alcohol in many respects...there just shouldn't be warrants issued for those who use and possess it for personal consumption..

.Your mother should have been afforded the right to treat her illness as she wished...

Theresa   April 21st, 2010 3:12 pm ET

@Gerald \'s a pleasure to spar conversation with's only when it starts to attack the opinion of the poster in a very angry or critical way. Even when I disagree with someone ....I actually @ times do learn something from some postings. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong but when I"m right ..I have to prove it. My husband got quite a few chuckles from our banter..he just shakes his head @ me & says that's my wife. So, I do hope you have a good day & we both are lucky we live in the countries we do. Neither are perfect but the alternate of living in a country we could be jailed because of what we post freely here ...just gives me chills!!! Both our countries have problems galore but upon comparison , I'd still prefer the N. American continent. My daughter lived in S. Korea & could see N. that thought is provoking. The day she decided to return to Canada was 1 of the happiest days of my life. S. Korea is a beautiful country , beautiful, friendly preople but with the though of the possibility of nuclear weapons by N. Korea is an unsettling thought ,especially when you only have 1!!!!

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 3:33 pm ET

In regards to Asthma...In Mexicali, Mexico..just several hundred yards across the border from Calexico, Califonia is a clinic that distributes medicines to treat Asthma. I have used them for years and have never had an Asthma attack since. I have taken numerous people there and all have benefited, including my own father. It is legal to bring the medicine into the U.S. and I have even met some of your fellow Canadians there. I know the long history behind the medicine, but basically it was made from herbal substances and used by a doctor who treated arthritis patients and found those with Asthma became symptom free. He sent his two nephews to medical school and they now have been running the clinic..he, unfortunately has passed on. There are no know side effects and it costs so much less for a two years prescription than the high cost of pharmaceuticals than can end up causing you to have emphysema. The doctors names are Dr. Luis Carrillo and Dr. Fernando Carrillo..the phone number is 01152-65-528318...the address is Av. Madero 791, Mexicali, B.C. 2110, Mexico. The mailing address is P.O. Box 374, Calexico, CA. U.S.A. 92231...language is not a barrier because they all speak English and the clinic is as modern as any found in the U.S. and extremely clean...You would be impressed and I am sure greatly helped... Theresa google their names or the Carrillo Clinic for other to you...and any others who have Asthma or Arthritis...

Ted   April 22nd, 2010 9:14 am ET

@ cajazz

When in uniform I always said that I am not a fighter, but a lover!!
That 20,000 dead from sexual behavior could be partially attributed to my defending our nation.

Cajazz76:24:8   April 22nd, 2010 11:58 am ET

Well it supports the saying I read on a newly constructed outhouse near the hot refuel pits in Danang...Fighting for peace is like fornicating for virginity...not the 'F' word used of course...I salute you Ted, hope you were never wounded by a flying piece of assnel.

Cajazz76:24:8   April 22nd, 2010 12:09 pm ET

My wife's great-grandfather was wounded at the Battle of Antietam, during the (un) Civil War. I cannot recall if he was jumping over or jumping a stubborn stump, but he picked up a few splinters in his weapon. He was awarded the Order of the Purple Heart...I don't think he picked up many more splinters as he slid down the banister of life. But the weapon apparently worked well after that, he has an army of descendants.
