Some of the 'nameless' Captains portrayed in 'Deadliest Catch' strike me as utterly capitalistic and uncaring about the health and safety of their workers. In a glance, there is no way I would work nor support several of those crass, callous, unsafe and contemptible individuals.

Nonetheless, there does appear to be some Captains portrayed in 'Deadliest Catch' that do care about their crews health and safety over the lucrative fishing harvest they are after.

Hopefully, a potential 'green-horns' watch this series they'll chose to not seek employment on one of the abusive and unsafe Captains and instead seek employment on one of the Captain's that truly cares about the health and safety of his crew members.

Do they not know that God made scavenger fish for a purpose other than for them to be eaten by man? They are ugly and most of them by far are deadly to catch. Plus God said so, specifically not to eat unclean fish. Are these people like the baseball players and their faithful fans viewed as American sacred heroes? Americans!!!! Always the unique super heroes!!

Fisherman are one of the hardiest working men on this earth. I am from Newfoundland and that is a province made from hard working men and most of them were fishermen I have all the respect in the world for these men. Wish them the best.

The Best Show on TV right now. These are REAL men do a DEADLY job. I didn't even know how king crab or opilo crab were caught until I watched this show. The opening show was rivieting and sad. Thank you Discovery channel for showing us what it's all about. Thank you captains for letting us have a glimpse of your job and your lives (not easy to do). Captain Phil RIP you will be sorely missed. Jake and Josh be strong and carry on the legacy your father gave you! He would be so proud.

I like all the captains, they each bring something unique to the show and each one has a different personality. I do not believe for one minute that they don't care for the health and welfare of their fishermen on board. They all care very much, just because they come off looking like they are all gruff and don't care, they have al shown they care in their way, and I believe they do care. This is a tough job and it is hard on the body and we should all remember that as we dine on our king crab this year! They deserve to make good money and remember that they put their lives on the line and also can't work as many years as those of us who have easy jobs! Give em a break! I love em!!!! God Bless Cap'n Phil.
