Jesse, do you think Sara Palin is misinformed, or plain stupid when she goes on air and says things about the President that are infact what she is....such as the comment about him not having experience when in fact she has none, and left her job as govenor to get a tv show with the "liberal media"

kathleen, 30   April 9th, 2010 8:43 pm ET

Why do you have IL ex- gov on there? Cause he had HURT more the helped us working people in the state of IL while he was in office.Cause the type of job I do I have been LOSING hours at night & in federal holiday pay ever since he signed the Curfew law with being a grogercy bagger Over the age of that law.So what blago says is not worth being put on TV, cause of the HURT more then help that he did as gov for people like me working in IL in a grogercy store!Cause we grogercy baggers OVER that curfew law age have been LOSING hours&getting less in federal holiday pay cause of him signing that law.

dorothy   April 9th, 2010 8:59 pm ET

i am sure the Illinois gov would not have had any trouble if he had not stood up to the BANKSTERS. the very next day accusations flew in on the flimsiest evidence, there are MANY politicians out there with MUCH worse misbehavior who will never stand up to the real OWNERS of this country~THE BANKS.

Betty   April 9th, 2010 9:00 pm ET

Jesse--Do you think that Sarah Palin should be charged with inciting violence. And making negative remarks about the President of the United States, in every speech she makes.

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:03 pm ET

Obama should pick Judge Judy .

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:08 pm ET

It dont make a differance who Obama picks the winner will be in front of congress for three or four months getting griled before there sworn in .

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:12 pm ET

All of those democrats are going to run for the hills because of the health care bill they know that it would be a waste of money to run .

Gretchen   April 9th, 2010 9:13 pm ET

Being on the Supreme Court is a life time position .So when the president picks a justice he can't just choose from what's going on today, what will be happening years and years from now.To appoint a conservative when the conservatives on the court now are giving the president the cold shoulder, would be a terrible misstake for our President. The republican party no matter what the president does will not honor nor respect President Obama,so if I were him I'd go radical liberal just to show them that he is not moved by their insults.

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 9:13 pm ET

@Betty,
You are too funny. If we did what you suggest then we are going to have to bring in two thirds of the country and charge them as well based on the comments they made about Bush. Are we so brainwashed that we think only members of our party are bashed.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 9:15 pm ET

Sarah Palin is a classic narcissistic personality disorder with a true right wing Christian Fundamentalist belief system!

Pretty scary and pathetic!!!

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:15 pm ET

Theres no way Sara Palin would win a presidential election I hope the republicans arnt stupid enough to put her on the ticket .

adam miles   April 9th, 2010 9:18 pm ET

Forget a Paul Palin ticket. How about a Paul Ventura ticket.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 9:20 pm ET

@ CATINA

That is a classic Narcissistic Personality disorder behavior! They are egodystonic! (her idealized and realized self are incongruent)

Russ   April 9th, 2010 9:21 pm ET

Jesse show have his own show! He's no B.S

Carmella   April 9th, 2010 9:21 pm ET

Love Ya Jesse! Nice having you sit in. You have really gotten a great tan.

donna karbowski   April 9th, 2010 9:21 pm ET

Jesse Ventura rocks. Bring him back!!!

Maria   April 9th, 2010 9:22 pm ET

I agree with Representative Paul, we need to bring our troops home, but after we make sure that the society of Iraq and Afghanistan are stable enough, and spend the money necessary to keep track of terrorists. I'm the type of person that believes in a system that works, and the system we are using now, is not working so there must be some type of changes. Do the people simply need to go back to protesting? We should be demanding our rights, in which they are trying to take away from us,.

redneckford   April 9th, 2010 9:23 pm ET

Paul / Ventura 2010 ??????--what a winning team-–and Rob as treasury secretary!!!!!

Robyn   April 9th, 2010 9:24 pm ET

Ron Paul/Jesse Ventura 2012!!!

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:24 pm ET

The war was fed to Bush by the terroist what was we suppose to do just do nothing about 9-11 .

Gretchen   April 9th, 2010 9:25 pm ET

Sarah Palin is playing around with her followers. She is making plenty of money dividing this country. If she aws such a threat, why did she and the great american hero Mccain lose the elaction? Yes ,she has a following but most of the country are not thinking that way.She is getting a lot of media coverage, which would make some believe that they are making great moves.Sure Americans are angry and we want things to improve but Americans are not ignorant, hence that is why we chose intellect over plain dumb.Once the liberals start our campaign filling stadiums and bringing the noise all this sarah palin ,tea party crap will melt down to nothing in the face of what we will bring.

Belle   April 9th, 2010 9:26 pm ET

I believe the President will make the right decision on who to appoint for the Supreme Court. Americans in general need to be more informed about who TRULY runs our nation and its the BANKERS and THIER BANKS.

Do you think the President should address the Nation in a speech informing millions of Americans how Wall St and its banks and bankers are robbing us blind and we continue to let them.

BigD TRUTH CENTRE, MN   April 9th, 2010 9:27 pm ET

Stephanie is So Damn Smart!

Technology: Machines will eventually replace humans in every aspect of the work force. What is the Conservatives solution to this problem?

michelle---san antonio   April 9th, 2010 9:33 pm ET

Why do you have to discuss the big mouth """"MS PALIN"""""??? WE REPUBLICANS will NEVER VOTE FOR A """JOURNALIST""""". She is such a DISGRACE TO AMERICA. WHY won't she stay home and raise her children????

jack   April 9th, 2010 9:34 pm ET

What planet does Ms. Tantaros live on? She doesn't even know who started the two wars, or at least she pretends not to know. It is people like her that has made the GOP the laughing stock of thinking people world wide.

Gretchen   April 9th, 2010 9:34 pm ET

Also,I l heard that the new version of the tea party and the conservative 'movement is going to be called the Federation. That is so funny on the hill of the virginias governor making april national confederate month, makes you say hmm.Why not just add con,and take away tion and what do you have the new confederate. The confederate army committed treson on this country not wanting to stay in the union of our great nation. They always talk about patriotism and yet they ridicule our government that is for the people by the people. This new federation wants to over throw this government. That's why all of a sudden all these congress members are being threetened, all of this anti-government government people is hilarious.I'm a tax payer and I'm paying for health care for all of those republicans that voted against health care for the needy, what a freakin joke on all of you tea party rfepublican fools.

frankie   April 9th, 2010 9:34 pm ET

If "radical" is so bad, why was "maverick" so good?

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

RickFromDetroit,
I tend to agree with you; what is the Liberal solution to this problem?
Do you check out at the grocery with a person or a machine? I check out with a person.
Do you download a book electronically or buy a book? I buy a book.
As individuals, we do little to prevent loss of jobs to machines/electronics.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

Virginia Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell's proclamation designed to commemorate by declaring April Confederate History month along with failing to recognize slavery is an excellent example of our country’s wingnuts ever growing population of concern

Mike Nelson   April 9th, 2010 9:36 pm ET

Jesse,
I do appreciate you defending us while being a Navy Seal. but you don't have a clue what radical is. I am a 63 yr. old man without a job and your worried about uninsured people. Get jobs and more people would have insurance. The President is the most radical I have ever seen and that includes the Great Society of LBJ.

jennifer---san antonio   April 9th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

Blago, we ALL LIKE YOU. You are MORE HONEST THAN ANY OF THE CONGRESS. Good luck to you and your family. We never hear any bad rumers about you. YOU STAY WITH YOUR FAMILY AND WE RESPECT YOU FOR THAT.

Kelly Conway   April 9th, 2010 9:38 pm ET

Jesse is one of the very few out there who "talks the talk and walks the walk" Obama should spend some one on one time with Jesse and get some sound no BS advice! Jesse, when are you getting your own talk show?? Larry King should let you take the reins more often! God Bless Jesse Ventura!

jack   April 9th, 2010 9:41 pm ET

@Cathy...Yes, I prefer regular books as well. Looking at a screen is just not the same.

Cindy   April 9th, 2010 9:41 pm ET

A good group tonight. Thanks for having Andrea on to add some fair balance to the far left agenda. She is sharp; good to see a couple sharp women.

Josh   April 9th, 2010 9:41 pm ET

Please ask Jesse if he will run for president with Ron Paul as VP or vice versa ?

RickFromDetroit   April 9th, 2010 9:43 pm ET

@Cathy
I use the self serve check out at the grocery store and read e-books. I also blog on the internet rather than send LKL a letter.

jason   April 9th, 2010 9:43 pm ET

GET THIS DISGRACEFUL """PALIN""""" OUT OF OUR COUNTRY. HER VOICE IS SO SICKENING ALONG WITH HER STUPID IDEAS. YES REPUBLICANS ARE ASHAMED OF HER. GO HOME PALIN.

Edgar   April 9th, 2010 9:44 pm ET

My God, Andrea Tantaros, you are way too beautiful to be a republican ! YOU should run for president !! Not Palin.

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 9:44 pm ET

@jack,
I can't imagine reading an entire book from a screen. Doesn't even sound good for the eyes but to each his own I guess. I just think of the loss of jobs if every book goes out only electronically.

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:46 pm ET

Tiger will never win a seat in public office because of this mistake .

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 9:46 pm ET

When Tiger wins the Masters Sunday, tabloids will have to find something interesting to talk about as we know they won't find Tiger's winning the Masters interesting. Go Tiger! He had the best first round yesterday that he's ever had at the Masters; hopefully that's a good sign.

Carmella   April 9th, 2010 9:47 pm ET

Jesse you are so awesome, you tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Gretchen   April 9th, 2010 9:48 pm ET

Why was Bin Ladens family allowed to fly after the 911 attacks when all other planes were grounded? Jesse keep digging.Cheney did say we needed a world war II kind of incident to bring the country together before 911 happened. Also today the republican party cheered when they heard that Isreal would not be coming to the nuclear arms agreement, that's strange. Also Cheney was in Isreal with Benjamin on the election night of President Obama, why was he there? We new who attacked us,then Bush attacked a country that was not a threat to us hmm.George was in a class room reading a story about a goat, his father was with members of Bin Ladens family ,Condi was shoe shopping Cheney was where,Colin was on a flight somewhere non of the players wre in the whitehouse which was a target,if some of the passengers wouldnt have tried to fight, non of the players wre at the pentagon Hmm. Who profited from 911,Halaburton owned bt Cheney,Hmm???????????????????

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 9:48 pm ET

@ jack

Maybe she is just exposing herself...

****************

This is off topic, but I must express some feelings on the matter.

I find it extremely embarrassing that an American couple adopted a 7-year-old Russian child and decided to send the child back to Russia, alone, unescorted.

Russia is up in arms with Americans over this situation with good cause. Adopting a child is not like adopting a pet plant in which you feel it may be too much work, you cast it out. Hopefully, we would not even do that to our pet cats and dogs, let alone a child!

Another example of ....... we have to many children and not enough 'healthy' adopting parents.

Carmella   April 9th, 2010 9:49 pm ET

@Michael what are you talking about? Tiger is not looking for a position in public office. He's a golfer plain and simple.

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:49 pm ET

Hopefully after the masters CNN will turn the Tiger story over to Nancy Grace .

Diane   April 9th, 2010 9:49 pm ET

Modern Media feeds hatred as is evident in the Tiger Woods fiasco. Could we just get on w/Journlism that reports news of the Walter Cronkite era? This tabloid gossip is nauseating!

RickFromDetroit   April 9th, 2010 9:49 pm ET

@Cathy
It is time for this Country to forget about the horse and buggy days a join the 21st century. We need a government that puts the machines to work so we can get paid to enjoy the better things in life.

jack   April 9th, 2010 9:49 pm ET

@Cathy...If they would grow hemp in the US, it would help our environment as well as provide a good source for paper, heavy duty cloth, excellent nonaddictive medicine, and a multitude of other uses. It would also recharge our economy, eliminate wasteful government spending, reduce cartel crimes, and keep otherwise law abiding people out of jail, where they are exposed to true criminals.

Ricki   April 9th, 2010 9:50 pm ET

Re: Tiger Woods Nike Ad...........sorry, I do not agree with Jesse & Ron B.
He created an image and has tarnished that immensly. He owes it to the young followers to set a better image. The Nike Ad is a joke and it's all about the money,

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

RickFromDetroit,
I am confused by your posts. Now it sounds as though you are in favor of moving every job to a machine. So if you are in favor of that, why are you asking what the Conservatives' solution is.
I believe we are definitely living in the 21st century. Mr. Steve Jobs woud laugh at your suggesting we are living in the horse and buggy days.

RickFromDetroit   April 9th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

Government spending is not the problem, it is where the spending is funneled to that is the problem. Check with Wall Street and see if we can trace down any of our government spending.

frankie   April 9th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

Sarah Palin and the Tea Party are the stooges of the Republican party they are not grass roots – they might think they are. They say things the Republicans want said but they don't want to be heard saying it, to people the Republicans want on their side but don't want to be seen talking to.

michael armstrong sr.   April 9th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

Trump just likes to fire people you dont have to do any thing wrong .

jack   April 9th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

@Dodie...Yes, there are times people wish they could send kids somewhere when they get unruly, but I agree she should not have adopted a child from Russia, if she wasn't in for the long haul. If she thought child rearing was going to be smooth sailing every day, she was delusional.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 9:56 pm ET

Your choice of reading a book on paper or a screen probably has more to do with your vision. With my current vision, I could fit one word per screen!

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 9:57 pm ET

@Jack,
That might be a good solution because electronic books would be considered better for the environment and I am all about helping the environment. Although I would like to better understand what everything wireless is doing to the environment; your thoughts?

jack   April 9th, 2010 9:58 pm ET

Rod may be unethical, but he is interesting, and I admire his upbeat attitude.

Gene   April 9th, 2010 9:58 pm ET

I'd like to hear from the panel tehir thoughts on how it is that 47% of Americans pay no federal tax – zero. No wonder people want more from government, they are not paying for it.

RickFromDetroit   April 9th, 2010 9:58 pm ET

@Cathy
I did not say all us of are living in the horse and buggy days, I meant many of the people in this Country want to return to them days. With computers and robots replacing human workers, we must look for ways to keep the consumer with cash. Any ideas?

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 9:58 pm ET

@ Diane April 9th, 2010 9:49 pm ET

Modern Media feeds hatred as is evident in the Tiger Woods fiasco!

***********************

Media feeds what sells. Its all about money!!!

Dennis DeMille   April 9th, 2010 9:59 pm ET

Jesse,
Why is it that when there is a republican administration in control for 8+ years we emerge in debt, and the democrats following them try to get us out of it, they scream about spending money?

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 9:59 pm ET

@ jack

She should have adopted a pet plant!

Maria   April 9th, 2010 10:00 pm ET

Does anyone realize that the economic pressure we are feeling came from Bush. Obama came into a mess, and has a lot to do, he is only human and can only do so much at one time.
Sarah Palin is no where near qualified to ever be President, I would rather have Jesse as President before her.
Ok Virginia has enough tourism I live here, the traffic is horendous, and virginia needs to focus on their roads, and transportation issues.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:01 pm ET

@ Cathy

If you are unable to read a small screen, what good would it do to help the environment. Jack brought up a good point. Using Hemp!

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:04 pm ET

@Dodie,
Yes, vision is an issue but I think the screen is much worse for our eyes, even with good vision, than a book.

Too bad more people who want to adopt don't consider the children in this country, especially those in foster care. Apparently she didn't insist on adopting a baby so another reason to consider a foster child. It appears, however, that her adopting no child is the best thing for everyone. Hard to understand. Also it's unfortunate that such a bad incident makes everyone looks bad.

jack   April 9th, 2010 10:06 pm ET

@Cathy...Electricity costs also. I guess I am just too old to want to change to electronic books. Since there are many millions of books already printed, reading books already in print would have less impact on the environment than electronic books. So , no reason to feel guilty for such a pleasure. Side note: Many books of the far right wing, that become bestsellers , are a waste of good paper. Also junk mail is a waste of resources. And about all mail these days is junk mail.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:07 pm ET

@ Cathy

We have our group homes... (current term for orphanages) all full of children. There is No more room. Social workers that remove children from dangerous homes do not know where to take the children as there are just too many of them.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:09 pm ET

@ Jack

You stated: "Many books of the far right wing, that become bestsellers , are a waste of good paper"

I stand up and applaud you for that statement...

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:09 pm ET

RickfromDetroit,
Cash would help but as you know, several machines take cash. I have no solution other than my humble efforts to seek a human any time there is a choice between a human and a machine. The only other thought I would have is to make the machines in this country; yea, we all know the chance of that becoming mainstream.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:11 pm ET

Cathy & RickfromDetroit,

Purchase used books is one option!

jack   April 9th, 2010 10:12 pm ET

@Dodie...People should not adopt kids or pets on impulse.

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:12 pm ET

@Jack,
I'm neither far right nor far left so I guess I'll just stick with Moby Dick, something a little middle of the road :-).

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:14 pm ET

@ Jack

Excellent point along with realizing... adopting and raising another will not always be fun or enjoyable. It takes dedication, being unselfish, etc.

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:14 pm ET

@Dodie,
Yes, used books are good and sometimes I get one from the library. But I have to admit they are in such sad shape, I find myself washing my hands often, wondering just where all they have been :-).

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:16 pm ET

@ Cathy

I go to Amazon ....... the used books are rated and most in excellent condition.

The only time I purchase a new book, as a gift for someone else.

For myself, used is just fine!

jack   April 9th, 2010 10:17 pm ET

@Dodie...The fringe right wing has a very devoted group of readers, viewers and listeners. They have every right to express themselves, but if they lie or incite violence, we have a right to fight against such bad influences. A lot of the things that the far right pundits say would be quite laughable , if there weren't people who actually believe some of the rubbish. That is why education is very important.

T. Chakrabarti   April 9th, 2010 10:18 pm ET

IN my opinion, Sahra Palin is absolutely a cartoon charecter to get attention from public. She should first learn how to take care of her own family before taking care of the Nation. Moreover, Sahra palin and rest of the people who think president is radical, they should look into themselves and they will discover that they might win "American's Slanderous politician" Award. However Advice to Sarah palin and all her Executive Associate that "by slander against a responsible person like President OBAMA they are not seting a good example of being a responsible leader. "

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:18 pm ET

Cathy,

you do have a good point and have me laughing. Usually bacteria will not live that long...

jack   April 9th, 2010 10:19 pm ET

@Cathy...Just think if we could read constantly for a hundred years, we couldn't even scratch the surface of reading all the books ever written.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:23 pm ET

@ Jack

You are correct. The right wing extreme are most often the Christian Fundamentalist and they do read....like the bible from cover to cover.

Education will separate a super power from a 3rd world power. Just take a look around the world. It is one of the reasons China has dedicated a lot of energy on educating all their people.

Education and travel is key in development of healthy cognitive perceptions and decrease the need for fear

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:25 pm ET

@Dodie,

Thanks for the reminder about Amazon. I will look into it.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:27 pm ET

Cathy

I have picked up books like 'Blowback' by Chalmers Johnson for only 55 cents with $2.99 shipping. What better price can one ask for. lol The book looks new.

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:29 pm ET

@Dodie,
True; bacteria don't live that long. But I have to admit if they weren't paper, I would be wiping them down with sanitizer :-). My hang-up I admit.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:33 pm ET

Cathy

I have to admit, I swish a little Lysol here and there on the book too. I fully understand ...

It used to be considered a diagnosis............... now it is just good common sense.

Very interesting how life perspectives can change.

jack   April 9th, 2010 10:34 pm ET

@Dodie...If they really absorbed the more moral teachings of the Bible, I feel they would find little that would appeal to them from the GOP. Problem is, I think they do not really read it with an open mind and with perspective. I think they all too often allow their ministers, or priests, or whoever to digest it for them. They selectively take the parts that support the right wing agenda, while ignoring many other parts that are diametrically opposed to the right wing agenda. That is why education is important to the faithful also,so they cannot be easily fooled.

Brian   April 9th, 2010 10:35 pm ET

This was one of the best shows of Larry King live I've seen with Jesse Ventura hosting the show and some fantastic guests as well.
I have found a new respect for Larry King for allowing this. I hope he does it more often.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:39 pm ET

@ Jack

Well stated and digested. I agree with you. I call the group "sheeple" as they are led by others through their fear! Religion breads followers. If you are not a follower, you probably would not be a strong believer!

The catch is the use of "fear" as religion is in the business of selling 'heaven" I am sure I will receive some flack from this statement, but it is what I perceive!

jack   April 9th, 2010 10:41 pm ET

Yes, was interesting show tonight. Lot of variety and interesting debate. Far better than having one guest, especially when the guest happens to be of the boring variety or a show devoted to Tiger Woods etc.

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:43 pm ET

@ jack

ROFL

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:45 pm ET

@Dodie,
Given what we have been discussing, I will give you a good laugh. Speaking of Amazon, I have only ordered one item from them. Because I could find no information on how to return it, I walked away from Amazon. I wanted to return the item because it worked about 3 times and quit; I even changed the batteries to be sure. And what do you think the item was? It was one of those little hand sanitizers with the ultra-violet light. Sick aren't I :-).

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 10:50 pm ET

@ Cathy

You are really cute and refreshing! Yes, I am laughing! I suspect ultra violet lights are good for TB. ..I am not sure of anything else.

Actually when you mentioned batteries, I was thinking of something else...

I only purchase books from Amazon and after I read them, I give them to my friends. We all have a book swapping session. Good for the environment, good for the wallet, just good all around!

Belle   April 9th, 2010 10:56 pm ET

Where can I watch the show on the net? Im mad that Im stuck at work missing a GREAT LKL show

Cathy   April 9th, 2010 10:57 pm ET

@Dodie,
Good idea; I am a very slow reader, however, so everyone will have to wait a while to get a book from me!

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 11:02 pm ET

@ jack

You are wiser than I. You always maintain political correctness. From a point of reference, Heaven is the selling spotlight! Like a spotlight award for being good!

I enjoy your balance and the distance you have moved with religion since childhood. I always admire those who have made major changes in their life!

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 11:05 pm ET

@ Cathy

I like you! I am dyslexic and often read rather slow at times. Depends on my visual frame of reference and emotional setting.

Cathy, let them wait! Often waiting for something creates intrigue! My good friends tolerate this very well.

jack   April 9th, 2010 11:05 pm ET

As far as the SCOTUS appointment, the GOP is going to challenge it and obstruct, no matter who he picks. With the court weighed so far to the right , he should appoint a stong liberal, and have others lined up ,until they get tired of their childish filibustering. When a court calls corporations "people" and allows them to give unlimited political contributions, they certainly need balance.

jack   April 9th, 2010 11:11 pm ET

@Dodie...That is kind of you to say, but I am certainly not wiser than you. I often have to strain just to keep up. I tend to generalize a lot. But, I try to speak according to what I think I know, usually.

Theresa   April 9th, 2010 11:13 pm ET

Sarah Palin isn't as stupid as everyone thinks she is. She knows every negative comment she makes whether it's about Pres. Obama, the democrat party, the weather, anything it's going to get the opposition angry, tongues will wag ,the media will follow her,her name is on every neswscast, she'll be the topic of every talk show , people will continue to wonder whether she'll run in 2012. The money will continue so,she'll continue her speeches, she'll write another book, more $$$$$! Now,who is the fool?

Dodie   April 9th, 2010 11:19 pm ET

@ Jack

So modest and humble. Very nice qualities. Trust me, you are equal to and better than many on LKL. I always stop and read what you have to say. Always considerate. Always balanced. Those are your hallmarks. I admire the changes you have made in your life.

jack   April 9th, 2010 11:40 pm ET

@Theresa...True, she does know how to make lots of money and tell the people who listen to her what they want to hear. If it wasn't for Senator McCain, and the climate of hate and misinformation, most of us would, thankfully, have never heard of her. The long , lucrative career of Rush indicates there is a big market for right wing propaganda,

steve ross   April 10th, 2010 12:29 am ET

Thank you CNN for bringing in Jesse Ventura. Seriosly the best news commentary i have seen in a while.
ps i still find it odd that the public hasnt heard any of the Blagoyavitch tapes.

Joan Nelson   April 10th, 2010 12:31 am ET

I am enjoying the diversity of opinions on this show but "Blago"..... I don't think someone who is facing criminal charges should be giving opinions.

martha high   April 10th, 2010 12:31 am ET

love Jesse Ventura Keep him comimg

Melissa   April 10th, 2010 12:39 am ET

I mean seriously does anyone take these guys seriously?

John   April 10th, 2010 1:03 am ET

Betty you wrote- April 9th, 2010 9:00 pm ET

Jesse–Do you think that Sarah Palin should be charged with inciting violence. And making negative remarks about the President of the United States, in every speech she makes.

So I guess you don't believe in freedom of speech. Really? arrest-someone for making a negative comment about the president? Maybe you should go back in time and live in Russia under Stalin or Germany under Hitler. Sarah isn't inciting violence; the radical left wing are inciting violence by tearing apart our Founders principles and the free market Capitalism that made this country great. That being said the people in the Tea Party are not violent. The accusations you have been hearing about senators being spit on and called the N word are false and have not been proven. Andrew Breitbart offered 100k to anyone with video proof. No one has come forward. really? no witnesses with all those cameras

sandra   April 10th, 2010 1:07 am ET

RE Ms Paline being negative about Pres Obama is UN/AMERICAN and she has no class & no respect....for herself as well.why isn't she HOME being a MOM...Ron Paul is correct, Bring the Troops HOME !!..Dennis Kuchinich has been saying this for years..

alma   April 10th, 2010 3:38 am ET

Tea parties are not supposed to be bad. Unfortunately their leaders are not practicing good manners. They are unpatriotic and they are giving a bad example to our young people by accepting their member to bully members of congress by spitting on them as they walk to their jobs. No wonder there is so much bullying going on in our schools. Young people see grown ups spitting member of the government and others using language against the president of the country. They see no unity of purpose and they see no good. I and members of my family (57) have lost confidence in the Republican Party and will never vote Republican again. They have forgotten the "do unto others" philosophy and they have opted to incite to violence. We do not want to be associated with them.

alma   April 10th, 2010 3:48 am ET

Ms. Sarah Palin doesn't deserve all that publicity. She is an ignorant hungry for fame and status. Only an ignorant like her would follow. As it is she and her followers are the bigest death pannel when they prefer to deny health care to millions of people. To judge them not worthy of medical care when they need it. Does she realize that the higher ups in her party are just using her? Oops! I forgot, she doesn't mind as long as she gets paid she is very happy to spread her ignorant retoric satire. And her followers are too spaced out by her entertaining to realize it. They should go back to the famous Kate Curic (not sure of spelling) interview to remind them who are they listening to.

D   April 10th, 2010 3:52 am ET

Jesse, your interesting.
But " Blago" , just more Chicago political bull. WHY give him publicity.

alma   April 10th, 2010 3:54 am ET

Hey, I am glad that somebody mentioned Bin Laden. The same way that he incites to violence the Republicans incite but do not get directly involve. There are terrorist who kill themselves for Bin Laden's beliefs while he is safe in his bunker.

Lulu   April 10th, 2010 3:54 am ET

Andrea is the only sane one on this panel. Everyone else is in wacko land.

alma   April 10th, 2010 4:06 am ET

You guys are all wrong. Republicans say they are Christians but they say that to fool the masses. If they really read the Bible and take it to heart they would not be republicans. You can not be a big capitalist and be a Christian at the same time. That is an oxymoron. The teachings of Jesus are not republican or capitalist. Just think of the phrase, "do unto others as would have them do unto you". Where does that fit in the "kill the bill" mentality? Or, the picture of the President with insulting and racially motivated slogans. Where does that fit in the life of some one who profess to follow Jesus teachings? Oh, the abortion issue. Yeah, like they are against it. They just don't want the poor to have them paid by the taxes. They don't care if the rich have the abortions.

serge   April 10th, 2010 5:41 am ET

So according to Rep. Paul liberty for all americans and less govt are written on the republican's flag? So why on earth did the very same people introduce this outrageous patriot act, which made the USA look like former Eastern Germany... not only is everybody suspicious but guilty unless rock-solid prooven otherwise.
And thank god it is a democtrat president who handles the bank's and economic crises. Under a republican president there would'nt have been bail-outs or state-run economic programs of any kind. Just try to figure out the consequences this would have had.
Hey you republican hobos out there wake up! This is 21st century, the world is global and John Wayne has left the building a loooong time ago!

Eric   April 10th, 2010 6:17 am ET

Ron Paul – President, Jesse Ventura – Vice President for 2012?

Could anyone else claim... WINNING TICKET?

David W   April 10th, 2010 7:02 am ET

Thanks Larry and CNN for letting Ventura sit in. The show was top-notch.

Hank   April 10th, 2010 9:55 am ET

Hello, I have to admit that as of the momment that you said something like "... I like this guy Ron Paul!" your ratings went up. Ron Paul represents what all citizens hold personally dear to themselves; "... my right of choice is mine alone..." It means that we are all responsible for conducting ourselves and our business affairs to provide value without any collateral damage to others. Thanks for allowing him to articulate a constitutional point of view, Jesse. Audit the Federal Reserve!

donnadavidson   April 10th, 2010 12:57 pm ET

You are the best! Any time I flip to your show I am drawn in. You are one of a kind, ask the hard questions, while listening to the answers. You don't try to steal the spotlight from your guests like Charlie Rose, yuk.
You are the kind of moderator and interviewer I will always trust!
Donna Davidson

MaRiA805   April 10th, 2010 2:13 pm ET

All I got to say on this show tonight is that its about time we had a real live show on real comon sence individuals instead of going online for most of the real stuff.. especially real journalism the truth behind he illusion... thank you cnn for having this show...

Dianne   April 10th, 2010 3:56 pm ET

@Maria, It sounds like Ron Paul agree with the President. Try to stabilize Iraq and Afhganistan and finally come home. I donot see a difference in his stance and that of President Obama.

Dianne   April 10th, 2010 4:01 pm ET

@Mike Nelson Many people who work cannot afford insurance and small business cannot offer health care at all. It is to expensive. Look at all sides instead one one dimensional thinking.

Mary Puskarich   April 10th, 2010 8:16 pm ET

I think Jesse Ventura was a great host-almost better than Larry! Keep him as the fill in for Larry. Enjoy his perspective and humorous delivery.

Ted   April 11th, 2010 11:29 am ET

According to rating agencies CNN lost over 40% of its viewers during 2009!
No wonder, I watched today the report on that plane crash in Russia killing the polish delegation. The reporter just kept repeating the same garbage over and over again, anyone with a little brain could see that he did not have the faintest idea of what he was talking about and was only filling and killing time.
I changed to BBC International and voila, the same report was delivered in an intelligent and short way. The reporter did not repeat the same sentences every 30 seconds, he talked clearly and with knowledge.
CNN, you transmit a lot of garbage every day, your english reporters like Quest and a few more just stutter through the report.
Take a look at BBC and learn how to do it. While you are at it, watch Russia Today, France 24,( both english language), Sky News and other TV stations to get the idea.

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   April 11th, 2010 7:53 pm ET

I couldn't get over the story about the American lady who adopted the young Russian boy, and then sent him back on a plane to his country, because she couldn't handle his behaviour.

How could she do this and get away with it. I hope something is done about her. She is disgraceful and not human. Who does she think she is anyway.

Diana Frobenius   April 11th, 2010 9:19 pm ET

I am soooo tired of hearing about Mom of 8. Every time I see her I want to slap her. I just turn the channel. She needs to be home with her kids. If you really look at "Dancing" she should have gone home the first night. She isn't as good as Buz was!

Phranie   April 11th, 2010 9:23 pm ET

Can I just say, I LOVE THIS CHELSEA CHICK!!! As a well-educated law student and army veteran I think this girl is dope. Listening to her reminds me of hanging out with my girls and talking smack about the stupidity that surrounds us!!!!!!

Kim Esters   April 11th, 2010 9:59 pm ET

I believe that celebrities and other people in the public eye intentionally hold out cheating as an addiction. Their reputation is treated like brand management and damage control leads to rehab under the guise of an addiction. Your average Joe or Jane Doe is not considering cheating as sex addiction. It's simply a lack of self–control.

CJ   April 11th, 2010 10:19 pm ET

It's funny how so many are stepping up to complain about the healthcare law, and have quickly forgotten the good President Obama has done since he's been in office. I have a question for all who are opposed to the healthcare laws; how many of you who received the stimulus check last year sent their checks back and said,"no thank you?" You took that money and did with it you wanted. We are so quick to pull the negative out, instead of looking at what is good, and quite frankly, Republicans and Democrats need to stop the bickering and get out of their selfishness and power struggles and stop being the problem and get into the solution. It needs to be written in the Constitution that there should be a set number of terms senators should serve. Not until they are 80 or 90 years old and decide to retire. Out with the old-in with the new.

judith williams   April 11th, 2010 10:42 pm ET

Smith360   April 12th, 2010 2:13 am ET

Confederate States spokespersons trying to rewrite the history that resulted in over 500,000 Americans dieing to prevent their States succession from the Union reminds me very much of Republican strategist Karl Rove and Dick Cheney trying to rewrite the horrible legacy of their failed presidential administration.

Mayra   June 10th, 2010 1:40 pm ET

I saw the interview with ventura, stone and the congressman from Florida. I thought Ventura and Stone acted like bullies. They think that just because they served in Vietnam that entitiles them to be experts and can be as disrespectful as they want. If they are so in love with Castro and Chavez why don't they just change places with someone who is not. I am so sick and tired of these libs looking down on America. Hey idiots I too am part of America and I too wore a military uniform but unlike you two baffons I don't walk around totting my own horn. Why don't you do the rest of us a favor and just shut up.
