April 9, 2010 "Survivor" Producer Free from Custody in Wife's DeathPosted: 04:57 PM ET
Via LATimes.com LOS ANGELES - A producer with the popular CBS reality series "Survivor" has been released from custody in the death of his wife whose body was found dumped near the couple's hotel in Mexico. The body of Monica Beresford Redman was found Thursday in a sewer at the lavish Hotel Moon Palace, where the couple had been staying with their 2 children. State prosecutors say the body showed signs of possible strangulation, but they were waiting on the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Her husband, 38-year-old Bruce Beresford-Redman, has not been charged with a crime but was detained Thursday for questioning, according to Bello Rodriguez, the outgoing attorney general for Quintana Roo state, where Cancun is located. He was released from custody just after midnight Friday and remains under investigation, Quintana Roo state investigator Veronica Acacio said. He must also remain in Mexico until the investigation is completed, Acacio said. Filed under: Crime |
