It's a lawsuit worthy of a juicy Desperate Housewives storyline.

Nicollette Sheridan alleges the show's creator hit her in the face on the set and that she was then fired in retaliation for complaining about him, "resulting in her losing millions in future earnings," says the suit filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Sheridan, whose character was killed off the show last year, is suing for $20 million, alleging assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. She claims series creator Marc Cherry created a hostile work environment, "behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner."

Sheridan, a Golden Globe nominee who played sexy Realtor Edie Britt, claims that Cherry directed his abuse at other cast and crew members, even at star Teri Hatcher after she went above his head to ABC executives.

"I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies," Cherry told Sheridan, according to the lawsuit.

So what is new??!!
With the help of a crooked lawyer create a case for a lawsuit, file it in court, have a lot of press coverage and wait for the settlement.
Hollywood at its best.

My,my, my...when most people get the pink slip they file for unemployment insurance not hire a lawyer. Only in Hollywood. Does she have proof he hit her or said that info about Terri Hatcher. If not maybe Mr. Cherry will be the one who files a lawsuit for libel. Maybe her work just wasn't up to standard!!!

I always thought it was really weird that Nicollette Sheridan's character was "bumped off" because her role as Edie Britt was one of the most interesting of characters if not the best character. Nicollette played a really great "devilish" Edie. If these allegations are true...it all makes sense to me now and I wish her all the best and hope her fellow actors stand with her and support her through the depositions by voicing their own work place abuses.

Everyone knows that workplace abuse is a common problem and so prevalent in the business world. Encountering unpleasant or even harmful behavior such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, bullying in general in the workplace is a common problem for many workers and in this case allegedly from Management which is ABUSE OF POWER. Whether abuse comes in a physical or psychological form, it is important to understand the rights a person possesses as an employee and as a human being. It is the responsibility of a company to protect its workers from all abuse and I hope they have sensitivity classes and protocols in place or will implement them now.

The employee and in this case, Nicollette Sheridan has EVERY RIGHT BY LAW to file a complaint and lawsuit.

This proves Nicollette Sheridan is more than just an actress on "Desperate Housewifes," she's in search for a new job, and a multi-million dollar severance package! Wow, that can buy a lot of botox!
While I'm not convinced Marc Cherry seriously hurt Ms. Sheridan physically, I do believe her ego was damaged - to the sum of 20 millions worth! Maybe Mr. Cherry should take a timeout and be the next hollywood personality to check into rehab!

I am opposed to workplace abuse..whether physical or verbal. it happens a lot...I worked for a very verbally abusive tortuous female boss for many years and I still have ptsd. When I finally stood up for myself she fired me. That said I am supportive of the lawsuits to provide equity to the damaged employees. I do not think Nicolette Sheridan is attractive but she did a good job on that show. What is wrong with these Marc Cherry types...??? He should pay for this personally. I think people need to give her the benefit of the doubt. She does have the right to assert herself no matter how far up or down the ladder she is....If she were the gardner would she garner more support for this suit?

While the allegations of assault, if true, should result in some sort of legal action; but $20M? Is the photo above proof of the alleged damage from the physical assault or is the airbrush filter simply turned off?

Personally, I thought the show 'Desperate Housewives' was pretty horrible and stupid. What is so alluring about middle-aged women acting like self-centered over-sexed teenagers? How are women obsessing about being women an actual plotline?

I guess some people like to watch silly trash like that.

she thinks money can buy happiness..what a sad life...

I hope Nicollette Sheridan is successful in her lawsuit and moves on to additional roles in her successful life and career in film media.
