April 6, 2010 Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyer, 'I tend to win, and I intend to win this time'Posted: 09:00 PM ET
Dr. Conrad Murray, who has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of entertainer Michael Jackson, appeared in court Monday for a procedural hearing. At the hearing, the judge postponed a decision on Dr. Murray's medical license in the state of California. After the hearing, Ed Chernoff, the doctor's lawyer, gave an exclusive interview to ABC. ABC broadcast the interview on its Good Morning America program Tuesday morning. Mr. Chernoff said: "Dr. Murray is not guilty of causing the death of Michael Jackson. Period. A conclusion was made, and the investigation conducted in order to back it up." When asked about the police investigation into the case, he responded: "They wrongly blamed my client, and I think it was an easy call for them, and they justified it later." Recently, a defense strategy, which may or may not be a rumor, has been floating around the airwaves that the defense may claim that Mr. Jackson injected himself with more propofol in Dr. Murray's absence, thereby causing his own death. ABC said that Mr. Chernoff would neither confirm nor deny that they may claim this in court. Filed under: Michael Jackson
