Tiger Woods to face media today ahead of the Masters

Posted: 07:57 AM ET

Note: We've got some great guests on LKL tonight to discuss the latest news regarding Tiger Woods and his news conference today – Tune in at 9pmet and let us know what you think about Tiger's appearance today!

If you're curious how Tiger Woods morphed into the sports world's version of the E! True Hollywood Story, the Los Angeles office of Harvey Levin is a good place to start. Levin is the managing editor of, a celebrity website that has proved more difficult for the golfer than any bunker blast from a downhill lie. Staffers of the TMZ newsroom mockingly call themselves members of TNN - as in the Tiger News Network. The site has published nine Woods stories since April 1 alone, and it's sure to have at least one more after Woods holds a news conference Monday afternoon, his first meeting with a room of reporters in months.

"It is mistake to look at Tiger Woods as a sports figure," Levin says. "He is a celebrity. He is not in the niche of sports. Celebrities can be cooks, actors, musicians, athletes or politicians. Each area has an A-list and a B-list, and Tiger is an 'A' and an 'A' across all categories. He is one of the most famous people on the planet, and people are interested."

Tiger is answering questions quite openly during his press conference. Anyone want to make a wager as to whether or not Allred is waiting in the wings to prance out with another woman as soon as it's over 🙂

Tiger said he was happy & excited to be back where he was when he first started playing golf professionally. I predict that he will do well in the Masters.

As far as his personal life, he is working on it and trying to make amends. We will never know all the details from him and shouldn't because it is his private life. He knows he only needs to look forward now to a much brighter & better life with himself and family and being a great athlete again.

I don't really care what Tiger Woods has to say...I'm tired of all this same rehash of the subject.. Life is easier now without the temptation. Check in about a year from now to see how Mr. Woods is doing. That's when there will be am;ple chances of temptations. How many alcoholics quit forever after the 1st stint @ rehab? Just look how successful dieters are. Not too many people keep all the weight off after 1 diet. How many people quit smoking for good after the 1st try. Yes, it's not that difficult for Mr. Woods when he's mainly been in rehab & then back home lately. Let's see if he NEVER throws his clubs in anger again...or never use horrific profanity again. Is his ego never going to come into pay again. If he's successful after only 2 short stays in rehab...then I guess he was SERIOUS!!!

Tiger has been a professional golfer for perhaps 12-15 years. How many times did he throw clubs and swear? Do you watch golf?

@CHM...please.....I've seen him throw clubs several times...seen him mouth those lovely words also. I gather thatman must be your hero. How sad to hear him took him his stay inrehab to appereciate his fans.I've heard him say not so nice things about the golfers he plays with if they aren't overly complimentary to him. have you never seen how he reacts oif someone takes his picture...Good Lord he's a pro... I thought he was in the zone & that kind of thing shouldn't bother him ...I forgot he's the KIng & he expects everything perfect...except he kind of forgot his behaviour should be added to that list. By the way...I've watched golf even before Mr. Woods came onto the scene. People need to remember ..yes he's fortunate in that he has talent BUT he's only human...maybe richer but no better than you & me!!! By the way...Mr. Sportmanship Woods needs to learn how to treat his fellow golfers...Phil Mickelson might agree with that!!! By the way...I also play the game...I even own my clubs!!! I think he came on the scene in 1997!!!!
