Marie Osmond Cancels Shows for Family Time

Posted: 04:56 PM ET

Donny and Marie Osmond have cancelled their remaining shows at the Flamingo Las Vegas this week.

"She needs to spend more time with her family," her rep, Alan Nierob, tells PEOPLE. "She's still processing everything and it's really rough on her."

Osmond returned to the stage March 9, following funeral services for her son, Michael Bryan. During that first show, she and Donny were greeted by a standing ovation, and Marie told the crowd, "The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing. "That's what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him."

Bless you, Marie. Be with your family and loved ones. That is really what is important.

Good for Marie for taking what is no doubt much needed time away from the stage. I wish her and her family the best during a difficult time.

What a messed up family, after the bad press they take a break.

Peace be with you Marie Osmond & family.

You would have thought they could have done that immediately and not later.

Maybe they did realise it was not the right thing to do under the sad circumstances and that they do need time to grieve and grieving is a process that happens in stages.

Hope they will all heal from their trauma in time.
