Travolta flies personal jet to Haiti

Posted: 12:37 PM ET

By Douglas Hyde, CNN Entertainment Producer

So many stars have done their part for Haiti by raising awareness and funds, but one A-lister is actually taking the controls of a plane and flying into the heart of the disaster area himself – John Travolta.

One of Travolta's reps just confirmed to CNN that the star is personally flying one of his jets to Haiti to help out with relief efforts there.

In addition to relief supplies, Travolta is bringing along his wife Kelly Preston, several doctors and Church of Scientology ministers.

well done John! He is a great guy.

Dodie   January 26th, 2010 2:21 pm ET

Thank You John Travolta for bringing needed medical doctors. I would assume the supplies would contain mass amounts of antibiodics, anesthesia, pain killer medications, proper steralization equipment etc... etc... etc!

John Travolta and many other celebrities have made massive contributions. You are an inspiration to all!

Thank You!

Three cheers for John Travolta, he is living proof that many hollywwod stars are more than just actors.

They also are great humanitarians.

Thank you on behalf of the victims of the Hatian disaster.

May you always be blessed.

We have several hundred Haitians headed for Tampa Bay right now. I think our hospital may take about 25 of those. It is only a 250 bed hospital. We will see. I wonder if John Travolta would use his jet to bring the ones here?

I just adore John Travolta. And in the midst of the one year anniversary of the death of his son, he is putting his own pain aside to help the Haitains. Bravo Mr. Travlota!! Staying Alive...great movie...great soundtrack...and Mr. T. was hot!!!
Continued Prayers to the Haitains.

I worry about people who start up foundations

By the way, how much did Kobe Bryant send to Haiti?

Theresa   January 26th, 2010 10:48 pm ET

I think it's a great humaitarian effort that John Travolta is flying nurses & medical supplies to Haiti But I question why he has Scientology ministers tagging along. It boggles my mind why peoples personal agendas have to be involved in something like this.

I don't think they have a hidden agenda. Ministers are more likely able to leave at a moments notice since they can leave others to continue their calling at home

John Travolta and his wife understands what pain is all about
hopefully some closure and relief of his own pain of losing his son
will give the Travoltas some sense of peace by helping the people
specially the children of Haiti , god bless you John .

What big hearts John Travolta and his wife have. Bless them and a big THANK YOU! too. Keep safe.

It was so sad to see TV news coverage of the Haitian people lining up for food distributions and some of them hardly containing themselves and pushing and fighting over it. Breaks your heart watching and just makes you wish you can help them.

I just hope and pray John can help bring some order to them.

Also, we are still hearing from the locals, that the aid is still slow in getting through and they are despairing. I wonder.
