Unauthorized Oprah bio coming in April

Posted: 09:24 AM ET

Kitty Kelley, biographer of the rich and famous, is getting ready to release an unauthorized biography on talk show queen Oprah Winfrey.

The 544-page book, "Oprah: A Biography," will be released on April 13, with a first printing of 500,000 copies, according to the Crown Publishing Group.

"We are excited to be publishing the first comprehensive biography of one of the most influential, powerful and admired public figures of our time, by the most widely read biographer of our era," said Tina Constable, a vice president with Crown.

The author spent three years researching for the book and conducted 850 interviews, Crown said.

Kelley's previous books have chronicled the Bush family political dynasty, the British royal family, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Nancy Reagan.

Winfrey's Harpo Productions had little to say about the book.

"Oprah hasn't participated in or read Kitty Kelley's book, so she is unable to comment," said Winfrey spokeswoman Lisa Halliday.

Oprah, you have hundreds of millions!!
Please take just a million, buy antibiotics and other medicine urgently needed in Haiti, pack it into your plush private plane and fly it down.
You will sleep better for the rest of your life!!

Yes, Ted is right,!!!! Time to 'spread the Wealth Oprah" voted for Obama, now, step up to the plate, open your Kooba bag, and get yourself and your waitstaff, and your stylist on your private jet out to Haiti, pronto, to do some good! Haven't you been listening to our beloved MJ's messages all these years? "HEAL THE CHILDREN, LOVE THE CHILDREN, HELP THE CHILDREN....IT'S ALL FOR LOVE...L.O.V.E".....God's Speed on your journey!... : )

When far away from my country I see men like Dr Sunja ,Anderson cooper and others fighting so hard to save lives in Haiti,I feel bad. Because I'd never believe that others cared so much for the haitian people.Things our own people would bearly do for us the international community just do them in a so crucial situation. For, they care.I don't know what to do to show how much my family and I appreciate the help of Dr Sunja and Anderson cooper and the others. My family and I are very greatful to you CNN for we understand...

'Unauthorized'....I think that says it all. Don't buy into this garbage...'authors' who create work based on heresay and gossip. We all could spend three years researching and write our version of Oprah based on the information we found. Garbage.

@ Ted & Kristin......... Go to Oprah's web site and see for yourself that she has ALREADY donated. Oprah has a record of being very generous.

Question is Ted & Kristin have YOU donated to help the people of Haiti?

I'm sure they have. Everyone is entitled to their opinions of celebrities; no reason to make it personal.

Stop picking on Oprah.

I would like to nominate Larry King, George Clooney, Anderson Cooper, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Jeraldo, John Walsh, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush; and all of the doctors & nurses in Haiti aiding the victims, as CNN Heros for 2010. Their heroic and selfless efforts in covering this story, taking initiative, and being responsible for the outpouring of support and abundance that has followed their extraordinary coverage of this devastating event. We are all One. Everything is conscious. When we understand consciousness, we understand each other and the world, and our separation to it falls away....It's all for LOVE....L.O.V.E

Everyone is entitled to their opinion of people who whine about celebrities when they know nothing about them personally.

It has been my experience that the people who whine about celebrities are often people who give nothing to others but their opinions.

Oprah has a proven track record. People should do a little research before spewing their acrimony.

Kitty Kelley, just another freak, trying to cash in on someone elses fame.

If you buy her book or read it, you are just as freaky as she is.
