December 31st, 2009 10:02 pm ET Facts on Yemen! Yemen’s support for Iraq during the 1990–1991 Gulf War forced economic consequences as Saudi Arabia expelled almost 1 million Yemeni workers, and both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait significantly reduced economic aid to Yemen. The 1994 civil war further drained Yemen’s economy. As a consequence, for the past 10 years Yemen has relied heavily on aid from multilateral agencies to sustain its economy making it a very impoverished and vulnerable country. According to statistics published by the Energy Information Administration, crude oil output averaged 4,133,000,000 barrels per day in 2005. Yemen is a small oil producer and does not belong to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). Unlike many regional oil producers, Yemen relies heavily on foreign oil companies that have production-sharing agreements with the government. Income from oil production constitutes 70 to 75 percent of government revenue and about 90 percent of exports. |

December 31st, 2009 10:16 pm ET Candy, the White House Administration must STOP rewarding the CIA for utter failures in what is completely expected of them to do. Former President Bush jr., rewarded the utter failure of the CIA to stop the 911 bombers despite their intel data, by giving them additional 10's of Billions of dollars. It was in my opinion a huge mistake for President Obama to publically thank the CIA for doing their job. President Obama needs to step up and chop off the heads of all of the CIA managers that dropped the ball, on purpose or not that led to placing American citizens at risk. The UK already had the Nigerian Muslim butt-bomber on their No-Fly list, and was BANNED from entering their country. The CIA knew that already. President Obama, do not reward the CIA for utter incompetence and failure like Bush jr. did!!! |
|
A. Smith, Oregon |
December 31st, 2009 10:19 pm ET Get real Ben Stein, if the CIA dropped the ball and placed hundreds in the airliner and hundreds in the metro-city of Detroit beneath that jetliner at risk, the CIA was not acting as a friend of America. |

December 31st, 2009 10:24 pm ET FIVE deferrments for Dick Cheney...disgusting !!!! |
|
A. Smith, Oregon |
December 31st, 2009 10:27 pm ET Any country such as Iran that has purchased Chinese Silk Worm missiles and hyper hi-speed torpedo's could effectively shut-down supertanker access to and from Saudi Arabia. Expanding those launch sites to Yemen would likely be a size able threat to any supertanker traveling thru that narrow choke point. Again, is America nothing but a hired gun for Saudi Arabia, where America soldiers give up their lives and the American taxpayers pick up the tab? |

December 31st, 2009 10:50 pm ET The NY Police have personal radiation meters! Amazing that troops in Iraq do not have those. With constant threats to bomb Iran's vast nuclear centrifuges that contain hundreds of TON's of extremely toxic and radioactive Uranium Hexafloride gas you'd think the American troops in Iraq would all have personal radiation meters in case Israel or America bombs those Uranium enrichment sites and releases a radioactive cloud that covers much of Iran and parts of Iraq !!! |

January 1st, 2010 3:54 am ET Larry King, since you are asking about deadlines for President Obama, what about the Israeli – American deadline for Iran to totally stop their Uranium enrichment program which expired today Jan. 1st. 2010? Israel is very punctual and Iran doesn't appear to be doing anything other than expanding their Uranium enrichment capability's. This could be the toughest test yet of current US Naval capability. Americas Naval warships would have to shadow and protect the massive Supertankers past the shallow and narrow Strait of Hormuz, shielding them from the Iranian torpedo's and silk worm missiles or fail with the sinking of a Oil Supertanker. If a Oil Supertanker were sunk by the Iranian forces in that shallow and narrow channel, America would be flooded by international anger from nations that are totally dependent on those Supertankers entering and leaving daily. Even a 7 day shut-down of the Strait of Hormuz would place a great deal of stress upon Oil dependent country's around the world. My moneys on the US Navy, if the US Navy is called upon for help or support, historically that is the strongest triad of the American forces. Of course I would rather for Iran to work out the clear differences in the disputes. |

January 1st, 2010 8:35 am ET The CIA never shares, they just scare the public with psyops, disinformation, and cover-ups…. and the media just reports any old lie to the public, like we won in iraq (not), al-queda is on the run (not), and killing a suspected terrorist through bombing is making us safer (not)….having paul bremmer on to present himself as some sort of security expert is a whopper also. |

January 1st, 2010 8:41 pm ET The Creator is the being with the first and final say on absolutes. Those that are created including the Christian figure they name as Jesus, listens and does what the Creator instructs and orders to be done. Even if the Christian 'Jesus' is a son of the Creator, it is a falsehood to spout that a child orders the Creator what to do. To instruct people a Created child orders the Creator what to do is very wrong and misleading. |

January 2nd, 2010 1:06 am ET From the CNN informational documents: The Haqqani network which is blamed for the recent bombing attack upon the CIA is run by Jalaluddin Haqqani and his son, Sirajuddin Haqqani. Jaluluddin Haqqani was a mujahideen fighter against the Soviets in the 1980s, and he was funded by the CIA through the Pakistani intelligence, the ISI. 20 years after the fact that Jaluluddin Haqqani was once seen as an ally, he recognizes the CIA as truly evil people and is now targeting the CIA. Missing from News Media's in depth reporting on this is the fact that President Karzi recently fingered the CIA as the ones that carried out a midnight raid which murdered a large number of Afghanistan young male civilians. That act of evil resulted in a regional outrage by the Afghanistan people against the American troops stationed there. When Osama bin Ladin was a mujahideen fighter against the Soviets in the 1980s, was he also funded by the CIA through the Pakistani intelligence, the ISI? CNN Special Investigative Reporters should see if he was. I believe a vast majority of Americans would appreciate learning if he was. |

January 2nd, 2010 3:54 am ET Why is the US experiencing more terrorist attacks than any other country in the world? 2000-2008 Dick Cheney was the Ground Zero of Corruption in the Bush/PNAC administration. (Project for the New American Century) What is PNAC? Established in the spring of 1997 and funded largely by the energy and arms industries, the Project for the New American Century was founded as the neoconservative think tank whose stated goal was to usher in a “new American century”. Having won the cold war and no military threat to speak of, this group of ideologues created a blueprint for the future whose agenda was to capitalize upon our surplus of military forces and funds and forcing American hegemony and corporate privatization throughout the world. In their statement of principles they outline a fourfold agenda: 1) Increase an already enormous military budget at the expense of domestic social programs 2) Toppling of regimes resistant to our corporate interests 3) Forcing democracy at the barrel of a gun in regions that have no history of the democratic process 4) Replacing the UN’s role of preserving and extending international order Reference: oldamericancentury . org Ebrahim Afsah, in "Creed, Cabal, or Conspiracy – The Origins of the Current Neo-Conservative Revolution in US Strategic Thinking", published in the German Law Journal, cited Jochen Bölsche's view that the goal of the PNAC was world dominance or global hegemony by the United States. According to Bölsche, Rebuilding America's Defenses "was developed by Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz and Libby, and is devoted to matters of 'maintaining US pre-eminence, thwarting rival powers and shaping the global security system according to US interests William Rivers Pitt, editorial director of Progressive Democrats of America, wrote, in an editorial published by Truthout.org, that PNAC was motivated by an imperial agenda of US military expansionism, which would bring negative side effects to ordinary citizens of the United States, while enriching some industries. The defense contractors such as Boeing would drain the American tax revenue, while be handsomely paid for arming this new American empire 2000 – 2008 Cheney and his PNAC warriors (Rove, Rumsfeld) have taken control of US foreign policy, intelligence services and military so that they can proceed with their agenda. This is the reason for Cheney's power. Reference: |

January 2nd, 2010 6:18 am ET I have a friend who lives in Italy who has visited me every year since 1997 under the Visa Waiver program. A program whereby with a ticket to the US he was given a 90 day visitors visa. Every year he left prior to the expiration of his visitors visa. This year, he was denied this right. He has always returned to Italy within the time allotted, never worked in the USA or committed a crime. I find it very interesting that he has been denied entry this year when someone who was on a terrorist "watch" list was allowed on a plane with an explosive device. It seems that our system is broken and that the wrong people are allowed entry to the US. |

January 2nd, 2010 6:19 am ET The associated press is issuing a statement today regarding Iran's Nuclear enrichment standoff with America. Where Iran is warning it will produce nuclear fuel on its own if there is no deal to have the West Nations or Russia deliver the Nuclear reactor fuel rods in exchange for Tehran's enriched uranium that it currently has by the end of January. Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki spoke before Iran's state television on Saturday telling the Iranian people that the West must "make a decision" whether to accept the Iranian counter proposal to either sell Tehran the nuclear reactor fuel rods or swap it for Iran's enriched uranium. Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki stated this is an "ultimatum." What was not stated is the fact that the total amount of enriched uranium Iran has and is capable of mining from its own Uranium yellow-cake processing facility's is not enough to supply the nuclear reactor fuel for a medium sized Nuclear Reactor, only a single small one. Iran is planning several medium to large Nuclear Reactor sites, France, Germany and now Russia is completing a medium sized Nuclear Reactor for Iran. This information makes the Iranian 'ultimatum' not completely forthright. They lack enough low level enriched Uranium to even power a single medium or large Nuclear Reactor. |

January 2nd, 2010 12:19 pm ET Hit the wrong key again, so we continue the message here: Stop quoting the Bible on every little subject, because other nations think we are the greatest bigots ever lived on this Earth. As you can see, nobody is quoting the Koran, the Talmud or any other books of religious content, only the Bible is being misused by born again christians who never read anything else, but the Bible with its fairy tales. The truth is, jews copied those stories, gave the persons jewish names, declared it to be the word of Jehowa, their invented god. In name of the Bible and Jesus we had countless wars and millions killed. In 1099 the Crusaders took in Jerusalem, killed every living being that came in front of them, making no difference if christian, jew or moslem. Over 10,000 people were massacred. |

January 2nd, 2010 10:16 pm ET If Muslim Ayatollahs, Clerics, Mullahs and Immans refuse to remove the 100 some verses that order, command and expect faithful Muslims to kidnap, torture, ensnare and murder infidels then America and Western Nations around the world should remove the Muslim Religion from the list of religions they officially recognize. Muslims are taught those verses are the words of the Muslim god, to be followed implicitly to the letter. Remove those verses, or remove the entire Muslim religion. |

January 3rd, 2010 2:26 pm ET Both the Bible and the Koran are based on the Talmud and the jewish beliefs of one God. Here must be mentioned that the jews worshiped many gods until the 5th century BC when the king declared there is only one god Jehowa and those who did not convert were punished. Jews staying in Babylonia kept their old many gods religion for a long time. A. Smith How would you go about forbidding the Moslem religion with about 1.5 billion believers? We have the freedom of religion and our born again christians cause more problems in the USA than the moslems do. We could start by shooting all mullahs, rabbies, priests and bishops, the pope, all preachers like the Osteens who rob their congregations, ministers, etc. The fish starts stinking at the head! |

January 3rd, 2010 9:49 pm ET The moral values that America was created on seem to be directly from Bibical text. Thou shalt not steal, lie, etc. It also states that we have an immortal soul, I want to know as a, Bible Thumper, why my wish is that every human finds eternal peace after this brief existence on earth. As I read the Bible it states that there will many who come before God and he will say I KNOW NOT YOU! If you want some temporary solice know this, Any and all who pervert the Word of God will spend eternity in seperation from God just as those many who refuse to accept the free gift offered by Jesus. We will all DIE and answer for our lives on this earth, the Bible states over and over again without love we have nothing- treat your brothers as you wish to be treated–pray for leaders-be willing to die for your spouse-pray for your enemies-give without expecting anything in return-- look to the Heavens, it has no end as your soul will exist FOREVER. Do what ever works for you, as for me, as a Bible Thumper, I have felt the power of God in my life. The Bible is and can be a road map to true happiness. Read it and spend some kneel time!!!!! |

She loves dropping hateful comments and waits for people to feed into her... |

A. Smith, Oregon |
January 4th, 2010 1:26 am ET @ Ted, thank you for your insights and others for your kind comments. I do not feel nor believe that the Creator encourages anyone to murder another. I do not feel nor believe the Creator instructs those faithful to the Creator to treat women any less than men. I believe the Creator loves all of his children, regardless of gender, race or ethnic nationality. Religions that teach and orders their followers that the Creator instructs or teaches them to murder someone is anti-spiritual and does not in my opinion have any harmony with Creation, therefore sooner than later they will be permanently removed, much like the human body removes diseases from its body. |

January 4th, 2010 8:10 am ET Dear people of United States of America & the European Union, I hope this message would be conveyed to the entire good people of this World at large. From the deepest abode of my heart please accept my heart-felt sympathy to the terrors caused by people of insanity. I earnestly will like to contribute to the unbelievable incidence occurring lately in the name of terrorism. Here is my point... We, Nigerians love Americans (U.S) and the Europeans, though I can not speak entirely for other citizens of Nigeria. I will be glad if we stop this heart-killing sentiment talk in respect of racism. We are all one in the Lord our God! Please let peace reign...this is a message and a prayer. If we are ever related, I believe we've met. ONE LOVE! |

January 5th, 2010 11:34 am ET @ Robert (speedy) Gonzales We have a free society and everyone has the right to worship the God, or Gods; he chooses. However this should be done in your own home privately, or in a church, temple or moshee, but not on a street corner or in a blog. Who cares? Yes you are right, the Bible has good things like the 10 commandments, etc. however it also says "if you live by the sword you will die by the sword"!!! |
