The American Public wants to see Micheal Jacksons medical records!
Who cares what Joe wants, where is the public release of the autopsy exam?

Exactly, we cannot look at the Jackson's as the "traditional" family. They were more like a corporation, and Joseph placing himself as CEO until they broke away. And this is why the estate trumps the investigation. Public opinion will push them to seek justice.

Joseph was not a "father" in the traditional sense, because he looked at his brood as an entity from their childhood. They were his business venture not children.

Mr. Joseph...I am with you all the way. If one of my family members died under circumstances as suspicious as Michael's I would leave no stone unturned in my quest for justice. The Jackson Family is an unique entity...no other before or since with all the talents and qualities that make the Jackson Family, the Jackson Family. They all have my prayers and support. I just want them all to know that I will be there....whenever they need me. The Jackson family obviously need answers and closure and are next of kin. The estate is acting as Michael's voice, trying to keep his rights in tact; patient doctor confidentiality. This is by no means an attempt to keep the family in the dark, but to keep the investigation under guard. If the records are released and the family leaks any pertinent information it might compromise the investigation. Joseph has not proven to be silenced or competent.

terry – That is probably the part that I am not understanding. Their priority seems to have been #1a business arrangement with Joe as their manager and #2 a family. People keep trying to apply their own family life experience to the Jacksons, and it just doesn't fit. People keep wanting to think Joe was like a real dad but MJ describes him wanting to be considered a business manager not a dad. They could not even call him dad.

I do not believe for one minute that Joe Jackson wants these records for the benefit of anyone other than himself. He sees some way to make money from having these records. He is not doing it to help in any investigation. It is not good for Michael Jackson for his father to have these records. (My guess is that Katherine and her lawyer have had these records all along and do not want him to have them).

My sentiments exactly, my last post. Great minds think alike. Joseph is all for himself, so this is beyond suspect. He is looking to his best interest, and has proven himself as his primary agenda by announcing his new business venture two days after Michael died.

I would rather the family remain in the dark, hard as that must be, so the investigation and or case is not compromised, They have waited this long. Justice for Michael is the most important thing right now.

Joe Jackson is still trying to prove that the estate lawyers are illegitimate. Katherine has accepted the estate lawyers. Joe is fighting Katherine on this issue. Katherine's lawyer is top notch. She would not use Brian Oxman to get Michael's medical records if the family wanted them. She would use her own attorney.

I agree with you as well. The family has to instigate something to get the LAPD to move their larded asses! The family has every right to this information....do you think it was withheld from them for some reason? It has been 6 months now and they dont have the records!!!......answers are needed! As I mentioned before they know something is up and it's not looking good!

Joseph is trying to sue the estate for an allowance, and this is a distraction tactic. He wants his money and if they give it to him he will stop his persuit of the records "in the best interest of the investigation." Bottom line, he wants to be paid.

The "American public" doesn't have the right to access Michael Jackson's medical records. That didn't stop Dr. Klein and others from going on international television and disclosing MJ's confidential medical information, in violation of Federal law.

If anyone has the right to see those records, it is Joe Jackson and members of the Jackson family. It does no harm to the estate for them to have this information. The real question is when is Dr. Murray going to be charged? His actions caused MJ's death.

Happy New Year....where have you been!

When the FBI files were released just before Christmas, I wished that every possible piece of bad news would also come out at that same time so we could get it all over with instead of worrying about more to come from medical records etc being released to the public etc. and the media having a field day with it.

I think it is unethical to leave the family in the dark regarding the homicide of their loved one. After all, the family commissioned their own private 2nd autopsy. I would think that the records that Mr. Joseph is requesting would be extremly relevent in interrpreting both. In fact, I am surprised that they are not already in possession of this information. When a loved one dies under suspicious circumstance, it is the duty, the responsibility of the surviving family members to ensure that everything that should have been done, was, in fact, actually done. There are many, many issues here and potential lawsuits, both criminal and civil. I am sure that the family in their quest for justice will not compromise the investigation.

We have been told that Dr. Murray admitted administering medications, including propofol, to Michael. When will we see some headway in this case? @Carrie...its not just the autopsy results that the subpoena duces tecum is for, exactly...it is medical records and information from the hospital on 25 June....I think they are trying to get the big picture....and why would you assume that Mr. Joseph would want to sell those materials should he receive them? There is a lot of information that should be reviewed, examined and cross-referenced. I know if it was my family member who died under such suspicious circumstances I would not stop until I had the opportunity to review every shred of information. And I certainly would not accept the interrpretation of said documents by the LEOs and experts involved in the investigation without also conducting my own independent research.

For once, I totally agree with Oxman's request. Why shouldn't Mr. Joe and Mrs. K have total access to their deceased son's medical records? There is nothing improper about it!

What bothers me more is the fact that the estate administrators are apparently in an uproar about it.

Yes, HIPAA obviously protect patients' privacy, for which I am grateful. However, Michael was murdered. Therefore, all bets are off - and the family should be allowed to take a peek.

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009. As 2009 now draws to a close, the King of Pop's death is unquestionably the story of the year, despite what the mainstream media may say about it.

The Michael Jackson life story is one that would make Shakespeare himself blush. Think about it now.

A supernaturally talented young man carries his family to wealth and fame before himself becoming the indisputable King of Pop. While turning the hip hop, dance, and rock and roll world on their respective heads, along the way he sang with a Beatle, married Elvis Presley's daughter, and made MTV what it is (or was). To say he became a cultural icon would serve only to minimize his true impact on both the entertainment business and the world at large.

Michael Jackson did things on stage that were never done before, and will never be done again. Michael Jackson did things in his music that would never work on paper, and will never be attempted again. Michael Jackson did things in his life that seemed perfectly illogical, but were on some level the most sensible things in the world.
Michael Jackson was different than you and me. He was far more talented, rich and famous. And yet he seemed to never judge.
Michael Jackson did things that made many (including myself at times), very uncomfortable.

But, really, what would I expect?

This was not your average, every day entertainer. Eddie Van Halen was one of the most famous, talented and accomplished rock stars of the 1980's. Even though he played on it, he is a mere footnote on the Thriller album. Paul McCartney is arguably the most famous living rock star. His duet with Michael Jackson is an afterthought in the King of Pop's career.

As a grown man, I recoiled when Michael said he shared his bed with little boys. I put two and two together (or so I thought), and believed the extortion charges based on Michael's breezy admission.
Let me ask you this, though. If Michael had done the things he was accused of, would he so willingly admit to sharing his bed? If he were guilty of the horrendous acts his accusers said he was, would he so happily state that he enjoyed having sleepovers?

The problem we have is that we expect our heroes to be like us. They are not. Michael Jackson was a musical genius. He was an entertainer without parallel. He could not relate to the common boundaries most of us face when it comes to singing, dancing and putting on a show. He was not normal, obviously, in that sense. But he's supposed to be normal in every other sense?

The world lost an icon this year. A man so uninhibited that he could dance, sing and emote freely. The rest of us, or at least a good portion of the rest of us, were uncomfortable with that fact. And we assumed his accusers, who were demanding money along the way, must be right. They have almost all been discredited at this point now.

@Carrie...I think you are very disrespectful to Mr. Joseph and the family. They are grieving. There is no schedule to grief. The timing of the subpoenas duces tecum does not matter. Maybe the family assumed the information would have been previously provided. Maybe they have informally requested it prior to the service of the subpoenas. What difference does it make? The family is entitled to answers. This is their son, father, brother, uncle. Mr. Joseph is the MJ3's grandfather.

If Joe and Brian Oxman get a hold of those autopsy photos....how much do you think those photos would be worth? Half a million? (Joe was paid $200,000 by ABC for a one hour interview shortly after MJ's death.)

No information has been exchanged. The lawyers will do the dance and all posture appropriately. UCLA's legal team will object and file a motion to quash and then we will see if Oxman counters. I think the world has all learned a lesson about false accusations and members of the Jackson Family.

People should stop dwelling in the past, and on what happened to Michael as a child. Michael was 50 years old when he died. He was a grown man.

As he evolved and had children of his own, Michael forgave his father. He acknowledged Mr. Joe's shortcomings and moved on.

I do not like saying mean things about an elderly man who lost his son. However, the lack of a father-son relationship caused MJ huge emotional pain his entire life, and I think it is reason he was trying to be a child advocate because he was trying to be a good father figure to boys who needed one just like he needed one when he was young. It wasn't that his father beat him, it was that he never felt like his father cared about him other than as a business manager for the money he could make. If he had a healthy relationship with his father, his life might have turned out completely differently. Also, JJ used MJ for business deals that MJ did not agree to over and over up till the end when he was trying to get in the O2 deal. MJ was so intimidated by him that he could not go to the last meeting alone because he knew his father would try to make him do something he did not want to do.

Anne, Carie, I share your feelings. I shudder at the thought of Joe in the possession of such MJ private and intimate records. Sure a father is entitled to know what killed his son, but Joe is not like other fathers. I will never forget that interview with Joe on LKL two days after Michael's death, when he took that opportunity to advertise his record company. That proved he was capable of anything. No more benefit of the doubt for Joe!.

I cannot agree more!!! Mike was abused physically and verbally by this 'man', but the lack of hugs and love were more traumatic for Mike. And that is something that is unforgiveable. Mike was frieghtened of him even as an adult...he deserved to be loved...to be shown love from his father, the man he could not even call daddy.

This article about Joe wanting autopsy photos and records from UCLA Medical Center is humorous since the autopsy was not done there. They don't have those records. Just an ER visit for an hour.

I agree with those who believe that Mrs. Katherine Jackson and her lawyers have already seen the medical reports. Their priority would be to keep quiet about anything that could jeopardize the investigation. why is it okay for everyone else to have access to Midhael's informaiton–but when his family requests information–they are called greedy or limelight seekers. The Jacksons have every right to request whatever they want from UCLA medical center. I can guarantee that sooner or later those records will be made availabe because someone from UCLA medical center will sell them to some media outlet out of pure greed. In my opinion it is better than the Jackson family gets their hands on those records first rather than the media the harassed and tormented Michael. The Jacksons deserve respect–they are Michael's family and calling Mr. Jackson joe-pa is totally disrespectful.

So it´s very quiet and peaceful here now,
not a single firework to see.
I was out for a night walk with Shadow,
and it´s an amazing beautiful night.
The snow is sparkling like brilliants.
I had a little problem with too much

So what if he is requesting them now. He probably requested it before. Everytime Joe do something you argue about. So Michael was 5 he wasnt the only one who was working back then in those day. And I bet those same people bashing Joe was the same ones dancing to the Jackson 5 music. Atleast someone is still searching for answers. Have you all heard anything since Michael's death? No we have not. Atleast he is keeping Michael's name in the news. Before Michael becomes another statistic in the cold case files.

I was raised to believe that it was extremely disrespectful to address your elders in such familiar terms and that it was the height of bad manners to call anyone even slightly older than you by their first name only without a respecful title, let alone turning their name into something else. I certainly would never shame my parents by exhibiting such familiarity as to speak that way to my elders. Of course you are entitled to have opinions, everyone does. But I choose to follow my roots when it comes to addressing my elders and people I do not know personally. So I refer to MJ's parents as Mr. Joseph and Mrs. Katherine. That is how I was raised. Michael was always respectful to everyone..he never even called TM anything stronger than "devilish". I am certainly not going to disrespect his parents by using demeaning terminolgy when referring to them. JMHO, of course. You are, of course free to do what you wish.

Usually attorneys try less adverserial ways to obtain documents first, before resorting to a subpoena. The family need their answers and Michael needs justice.

Once upon a time... i could really speak and write fluently, but age has no mercy and lack of practice either.

If not for Michael, to whom i wrote that poem out of my heart, I would have re.written a long time ago.

English is just one of the four foreign languages i've learnt, ages ago.
As a graduated language and literature teacher, i recognise where brilliancy stands. That's definitely not the case.

Happy New Year Everyone!

A Gift to share with you for the start of a new year. I just got in from church. We had a beautiful
watch night service hearing the Word of God and giving Him thanks and praise.

Below from one of several witnessing tracts we use to share the Gospel with everyone. And I would like
to take this opportunity to share it with you.

The Roman Road (which is the path of salvation)

I had a pretty good opinion of myself until a friend invited me to take a walk down the Roman Road.
He used just a single book in the Bible to open my eyes to my relationship with God, and I haven't been
the same since.

He warned me that the trip might hurt, and he was right because he started by revealing my real status before God.

"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God..." Romans 3:23

Then I learned of sin's penalty. "For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23a

He went on to tell me that God loves me so much he offers an alternative called 'eternal life'." ...but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord". Romans 6:23b

Then he showed me how God provided his son Jesus as an atoning sacrifice for my sin. Jesus took my penalty!
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

I wondered if God would accept me. He assured me with even more good news. "For whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

My friend showed me what I should do to receive eternal life. "That if you confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead you will be saved." Romans 10:9

We prayed together, and I gladly accepted God's gift of eternal life through Jesus. I asked him if there was anything in the book of Romans that could help me with my new life. He pointed to the beginning of Romans 12: "...present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

He explained that if I gave God first place in my life, other things would work out according to God's plan for me. I read a lot of the Bible since that day, and my friend was right! My life has been transformed. I joined his church and was baptized.

Many verses are underlined in my Bible, but I'll never forget the Roman Road because a close friend used it to show me the way to eternal life.

That's why I gave this tract to you today-so you too can know the way to eternal life. If you already have walked the road, please pass this on. News this good is meant to be shared.

Michael loved his family. Joe loves his family. Joe took care of his family. He trained them and made them the success they became. Michael's work ethic was much like his father's. I think Michael was his own person like his father. I don't think you can be a true fan of Michael's and bash his family. Bash the real culprits, such as the terrible doctors in his life, the celebrities who shunned him, the media that trashed him, and the fans who abandoned him.

His children and his family have a right to want answers. They have a right to oversee Michael's money and legacy. Disney kept it in the family, Versace kept it in the family, Walton kept it in the family, so many others keep it in the family–understandably and rightfully so.

I say give the family the records. If there is nothing to hide, let the truth be heard. Isnt' if funny that the lawyers of the estate don't want the records to be seen? Why? Everyone wants answers. The family has a right to know what's going on and I'm sure their not too happy about Dr. Murray going back to work. None of us are.

Brian Oxman and Joe Jackson have to file a wrongful deathsuit or file a civil or criminal case relating to obtaining the medical files. That is why the attorney's for the estate cannot approve this as they represent MJ as himself. A probate court does not get into the medical issues.

The district attorney's already have the medical files and it was recently stated that they had to bring in medical experts, most likely for interpretation. That is why any arrest(s) have been delayed.

The Jackson family have all the rights to pursue their own investigation, but they have to go through the proper courts in order to obtain the information they need.

The only person(s) that can talk to a decease's doctor or view medical records is the person who's name is on the "medical directive" previously written by the deceased. MJ probably didn't have a medical directive.

I do agree, that Katherine has been provided any and all medical information regarding MJ that she wants. If Joe said the "family" is behind him, then he should have their signatures on his petition for clarification.

Weitzman also says the subpoenas are irrelevant to Joe Jackson's only legal claim – a financial allowance.

The above means Joe has only filed in probate court, a petition for financial allowance. Joe has not filed any petition relevant to medical records.

Yes, I agree. We also don't know what Mr. Jackson was going to say since his partner cut him off.

Perhaps he was about to respond that they were working on something for Michael. (You may say it's not bloody likely but the fact is – we don't know.) We only know that he said he had a really good statement to make and then was cut off by his partner.

I don't normally defend Joe Jackson but I also will not condemn someone for something he may have been but did not not actually say and that his partner had the vulgar manners to say.

I tend to agree with those who think that Katherine had already got the medical records and did not share them with Joe. It's strange that she would not have got them before. Any mother who loved a son who died under strange circumstances would move heaven and earth to bring justice for her child.

I need more patience with this investigation. Remember, the Vegas search warrant was issued 8-07-09 and the Texas search warrant was issued approx 8-25-09. Even though we've been waiting for an arrest for 6 months, the evidence gathering has been ongoing.

Murray did not disclose all the medications nor the propofol he gave to MJ. This alone could be evidence of a consciousness of guilt. Another charge to be added in this case.

Gross negligance alone will suspend Murray's medical license.

There is hope on the horizon, so I have to be patient. I would be willing to donate $100 to Tom Mesereau to consult with the D.A. Even though TM is a defense attorney, he could inform the D.A. how to counterattack. If 60 of us bloggers could donate $100, that would be $6K for TM.

On the funeral invoice, it shows the amount Janet paid upfront. After that the estate paid the over $1 million bill including the Staples Center Memorial. My guess is, Janet is not part of the claim, if there is even a claim. It's not filed in probate as of 10 minutes ago.

Yes, every media outlet needs to be scrutinized. That is why I will read 8 to 10 other with the same article to find out what is consistent and what isn't.

A trial still has to occur in order to establish manslaughter. Manslaughter penality is 2 to 6 years. Also, gross negligence, withholding life/death information to UCLA & paramedics could also add to the charges.

Perhaps there is more evidence than we know of that the D.A. has and can add to the list of charges. Homicide charges have to include malice and intent to kill. If the D.A. determines a conspiracy which is 2 (1 being Murray) or more people, then that would be in the homicide category.

It's a waiting game until Murray is arrested to find out what the charges will be. We are all just guessing at this point.

carie – thank you for your very wanted contributions to this blog and for your wishes for peace and closure. I feel I have these now.

As I have said before, Michael was a role model for me since I was a teenager, he made a significant, positive impact on my life. I am also a decades long social and environmental activist. He was 'one of my people' and I will fight for justice and his rights as a human being, one that was abused and eventually died at the hands of another.

So now, for me, it is a justice / human rights issue and I am ready to fight the good fight. For other issues getting justice has sometimes taken years. This could also be one of those times and difficult for my voice to be heard since I am not American and it is American laws and society that are at the core. But I will contribute what I can, whenever I can. My conscience will not allow me to do anything else.

In the U.S., you cannot write books or sell video's while you are in prison. I will look it up, but I think there is a maximum number of years after you are released from prison to sell books/videos/movies for money. I'll check and let you know.

If Murray did go to prison, do you think the public would want to see a video of him after he has served his time? If the company making the video doesn't feel the public would have an interest, they will never release it.

If there was a video released and Murray got paid, then Katherine could file a wrongful deathsuit and get all the monie from Murray. That is about the only positive from a video being released in the future.

And isn't there double indemnity in the US? And if the jury acquitted Murray of murder because they felt he did not have malice, he would walk and he couldn't then be charged on the lesser manslaughter?

Sometimes police need to dance with the devil and pick a charge that they know will result in a conviction. After all, they got Al Capone on tax evasion, not for any of the murders because none of that could stick.

I analyze the difference in beliefs like religion. There have been so many religious battles in the past centuries because each religion feels they are right. Looking at how people interpret the Koran within their own society and how Israel is split off in the middle east.

That was an interesting point you made about the withholding of information in the ER being another charge because it could have contributed to the death. If Katherine wanted to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit wouldn't she use her own attorney? Doctors do seem to have a special protection in our society but I do not know if it is legal protections in the state law or just customary.

For everyone – Below I've pasted some HR advice on how to deal with difficult people. I'm not saying anyone is difficult on these blogs or that anyone has exhibited any of the below behaviour, those are highly subjective value judgments. But I feel the divisive and confrontational posts do not advance any purpose on these blogs but to encourage intolerance. Segregation is never a solution, it simply encourages the Us and Them mentality which is the cause of most strife and conflict in this world.

But I hope the below can be food for thought to help bring some peace to the blog:

1. Start out by examining yourself. Has one of your hot buttons been pushed? (We all have them) Always start with self-examination to determine what the object of your attention really is. Have you always experienced difficulty with the same type of person or actions? Does a pattern exist for you in your interaction with others like this? If one of your buttons has been pushed, ensure that your response is tempered and don’t allow yourself to overreact or escalate the problem to a new, more difficult level.

2, Explore what you are experiencing with a trusted friend or colleague. Brainstorm ways to address the situation. When you are the object of an attack, or others appear to support the actions of another, it is often difficult to objectively assess the situation and a proper response to it. Anger, pain, humiliation, fear and concern about making the situation worse are legitimate emotions. Pay attention to the advice.

3. Discuss your experience with the person with whom you are having the problem. Talk to them about what you are experiencing. You can also explain to the other person the impact of their actions on you in “I” messages. (Using “I” messages is a communication approach that focuses on your experience of the situation rather than on attacking or accusing the other person, such as '
"when you say these things I feel .......)

4. Be pleasant and agreeable as you communicate with the other person. They may not be aware of the impact of their words or actions on you. They may have lashed out in anger. They realizing their impact on you for the first time. Or, they may have to consider and confront a pattern in their own interaction with people. Worst case? They may know their impact on you and deny it or try to rationalize it away. Unfortunately, some difficult people just don’t care. During the communication, attempt to reach agreement about positive and supportive actions going forward.

5. After the initial discussion. Has the behavior changed? Gotten better? Or worse? Determine whether a follow-up discussion is needed. Also determine whether a follow-up discussion will have any impact. Decide if you want to continue to confront the difficult person or become a peacemaker. (Decide how badly you want to make peace with the other person and how much you want to remain where you are, in your current job or situation.) Determine whether you have experienced a pattern of support. If you answer, “yes,” to these questions, you may want to hold another discussion. If not, move to the next idea.

6. You can confront the difficult person’s behavior publicly. It rarely works to ask the person to stop doing what they’re doing publicly, but you can employ more positive confrontational tactics. Deal with the person with gentle humor. You can also tell the difficult person that you’d like them to consider the important history in their decision making or similar words expressed positively, depending on the subject. Direct confrontation work well for some people in some situations.

If Katherine wanted to pursue a wrongful death suit, she should wait until the criminal trial is over. Murray doesn't have money now and if he were to get sentenced with prison time, he won't have a dime, so she would collect nothing.

I've always heard that medical lawyer's are very rare in the U.S. I don't know if Streisand is proficient in the medical field or would recommend another attorney for her.

So many people want to file lawsuits now-a-days, but fail to calculate if their financial winnings will be far greater than there own attorney fees. LOL

The reason it took me so long to answer your "voluntary" questions was due to me having to look it up. I don't know anything about the law, but I do like to look it up. The States have all that information on their websites. Thank goodness.......love the computer.

Susan – Thank you very much. I am sorry to put you to work on a holiday! 🙂 I hope that no matter how long it takes, that you will be on this blog when this does finally come to trial. You are so good at explaining things. You have given me hope that it will because how can they ignore the fact that he withheld potentially lifesaving information to the EMT/ER? That makes it go beyond negligence to me. There was a case this summer of reckless homicide against a football coach who made a player continue to practice despite complaints that he was unwell and the player died of heatstroke. The coach was found not guilty. Perhaps if he had been charged with manslaughter the result would have been different.
