The stars we lost in 2009

It will be 6 months on Christmas since Michael Jackson died, and it still feels unreal. I hope that the investigation is continuing, that there will soon be answers, and that there will be justice for Michael and for his family. His death was one that should have been prevented. My prayers continue for his children and his family.

I love the fact that Michael is in the list of those who "passed" and not in the list of those who "died." I for one am looking forward to Mike's "repass" as listed on his funeral program.....to pass back over, especially in the opposite direction, when of course this should have been "repast" meaning the meal following the burial.

That was a very critical point you illustrated. I hope that this does not become a pattern as I am embracing myself for the outcome of now, Brittany Murphy. Health Ledger, Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson, now possibly Brittany Murphy- All talented, well recognized entertainers, but much beyond that they were HUMAN. It's amazing how many people (their doctors in particular) overlook that these humans were suffering and continued to feed them whatever they wanted as long they were soaking up that gravy train. These were four humans that should have never made the list in the past two years.

Yes, this is off subject of the above article. But it is Christmas....

As Michael has stated himself, he was a Christian who believed and followed the teachings of Jesus. And we all know how much he came to love and hold in his heart, the Christmas season. There is a song out this Christmas season…”2000 Decembers Ago” sung by Joy Williams, which speaks of God’s creation, a creation that Michael cherished….the sky, the moon and stars, the trees, the animals and yes the children. All singing of unspeakable joy at God’s gift of love to all of us. Michael took this same love and made it his life’s purpose to spread all over the world. At this season of love and joy, I pray and hold a special place in my heart for his precious children. I cannot imagine how much they must miss their daddy. To those of you who celebrate this season, I wish for you a Merry Christmas. And for all of us, I pray that 2010 is a year of good health, peace, love and justice for our sweet Michael. I’ll close with just a few lines from the song….(it’s on YouTube…haven’t quite figured out how to send a video here 🙂 ).

@T-T-Y....that book is huge. I am waiting until after Christmas to open it....so I can give it my full attention. So I had to lug it upstairs and boy was that a workout.....better than the kettlebells! The box is about 3' by 18" and around 30 pounds. Very awkward to carry it. It is the biggest book in my library...and I really don't know where I will keep it...but it needs special treatment...and yes it really is that BIG. LOL–have a wonderful day. 🙂

That is so true Lori – I have received mine and it is heavy and almost needs a specialized table or cabinet for presentation. It is an awesome book. I have flipped through the pages briefly but I absolutely love it. It is sooo worth the money.

This whole list of all these wonderful human beings who are killed through greed and selfishness for money is just undescribable. When are all these pusher doctors really going to be stopped from continuing with this dangerous practice of overprescibing to patients ??!!!

Mary, prescription medication abuse is totally out of control in our country. And that's exactly what some doctors are-drug pushers. It's all over the country, adults and sadly, teenagers. In Hollywood, it is the norm. The rich and famous can get anything they are willing to pay for. Not safe healthcare, not the best healthcare of course, just whatever your money and fame will buy.
These "stars" are human beings too. Yes, they have resources and must take responsibility. But once they get hooked, the doctors have them. And like any addict, they're going to do whatever it takes to feed that craving. Michael and many others have found that out...and paid with their lives.

We lost far too many this year.
But most of all we lost the most wonderful,kind loveing human being that ever walked this earth MICHAEL JACKSON

Christmas is such a beautiful time of the year and it is usually associated with much happiness. It is a celebratory time, but it is a time of reflection as well as the end of the year draws near. Certainly those who have lost loved ones reflect on the meaning of those people's lives in their own life, what they meant to them and perhaps even what they now can do to keep that loved one's memory alive. I want to celebrate these people's lives for they took their God given gifts and gave back, withholding nothing. Some deaths were sad for we are not certain it was their time to go. Only God holds life and death in the palm of His hands. We do not get to choose, but we do get to reflect and learn from their lives and with some of these extraordinary people we need to learn some very important life lessons, and not only perhaps apply them to our own lives' but to love, be concerned and maybe even fight so that others do not have to leave too soon.

Oh, Patty, I believe you really condensed this lesson that we are all suffering at the hands of people who were consumed and enraged with envy and jealousy of Michael. Yes, certainly Michael was abused on so many levels that I believe Michael became lost in this abuse and began to accept that this "must be" his reality. If he only knew how many people loved him- on the outside looking in. I really do believe that Michael looked in, but had some fears of what he saw. But no more. He is in the safest Hands he can be in.

You have all said it above in such perfect, beautiful words. Whether their time came from natural causes, accident, illness, overdose or homicide it is a tragic loss in each and every case.

When a death occurs due to overdose is something I have a problem with. Today Steven Tyler accepted intervention by friends, family and doctors. Today Brittney Spears conservatorship got extended. There is help out there for people. Today Lisa Bloom, attorney, stated prescription meds are the responsibility of the patient and the doctors. A better computerized cross-check program can be initiated in the pharmacy/medical profession and the second and most important are the people surrounding/involved with the patient. Mixing drugs is critical nowadays. Drugs in a home need to be monitored by someone else in the home and NOT by the patient.

But was 2009 any more notable for celebrity deaths than other years?

Good to see you on "this blog". Oh, dear Susan, I could not have agreed with you more. I actually caught that clip from Lisa Bloom; she did illustrate some significant points. Because I work in the field of addiction, the incidences I have witness are quite mind blowing. I work primarily with heroin addicts, but as of recently we are seeing more and more clients come to us with prescription medication addiction, oxycontin, Vicodin, morpine, demerol, Tylenol #3 and up, klonopin, ativian, xanax, valium, the list goes on and on. What is so heartbreaking is that the signs, symptoms and behaviors of addicts are so obvious, that many professionals are untrained, especially doctors, to acknowledge such behaviors. Addicts master the art of manipulation; this is a behavior unforeseen, unintentional and certainly unplanned. They learn it because they have to; when you become addicted to such powerful medications or even street drugs (such as the aforementioned), you begin to panic when you process the idea that this medication, (or whatever "drug of choice") will not be available to you in three hours, 1 day, 1 week, this human becomes desperate to begin concocting plans on how to obtain it; it becomes human nature- a skill that rears its ugly head, one that was completely foreign to them. Many doctors choose to conveniently overlook what should be an obvious hazardous behavior because of their benefit- kickbacks from insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, etc. I just learned in my state that now if a doctor emails your Rx. to a pharmacy, the doctors get a kickback from this- how absurd is that? The doctor makes an additional profit for following the code of ethics? Completely outlandish. I refuse to participate in this new "patient convenience". I agree Susan, there should be systems implemented to cross-reference doctor shopping, Rx. medication logs, "E.R. visits", etc. I suggested to the doctor I work with (who is very close with state politicans and various state medical board executives) to begin incorporating instant drug testing rules; if a client is coming in complaining of "pain or anxiety", they should be given an instant drug test to determine if their complaints are legitimate or if they are drug-seeking. Of course, this is only a helpful tool, certainly not to rule anything out, nor, diagnose, but it is time that we, as a collective society and community take a proactive approach, rather than the reactive approach- AGAIN. Thank you Susan for all your thought provoking posts.

Thank you for sharing this. I remember the day Chris Farley died, too- I took that one pretty hard as he was such an amazing talent. Princess Diana and Mother Theresa was hearbreaking as well- I remember they both passed away within a week of each other. I almost feel guilty ending this on "Merry Christmas"... Thank you, Cali.

Only in Hollywood, could a doctor who's being investigated in the death of Michael Jackson score a gig to star in a international TV special.

TMZ has learned Dr. Conrad Murray struck a deal with a British documentary crew to shoot footage of the Doc during his first day back on the job in Houston on November 23, 2009. We're told the footage was shot for an upcoming one-episode TV special.

A spokesman for Dr. Murray tells us the production company was "interested in the reaction of patients to his return." We're told the crew followed Murray around for the entire day, as he rolled by his office and his church.

The spokesman tells us Dr. Murray hasn't received a dime for his work – yet ... but he will get paid an unspecified amount once the special airs.

One problem – Dr. Murray is refusing to allow the company to air the project until the Michael Jackson investigation is complete. The spokesman tells us the wait could last "a couple of years."

And just to be safe, Murray's camp claims they're holding all of the footage.

The spokesman adds, "Dr. Murray is currently working 12 hour days ... to pay off his [child support] debt."

If only we could all remember this. God has a way of taking something tragic and turning it around to something good. I know in my heart he will do this with Michael's life and passing. Michael Jackson's Doc Not Ready for His Closeup

Michael Jackson starred in a posthumous documentary. His brothers are doing their own reality show. But his former physican isn't going Hollywood.

A rep for the embattled Dr. Conrad Murray says there are no plans for him to appear in a television special, despite reports suggesting otherwise.

"There is no proposed deal," says spokeswoman Miranda Sevcik. "They were thinking about doing something in the future, but it's been blown way out of proportion."

Sevcik says a British production crew followed the cardiologist around for one day in November as he visited with patients and friends, with the goal being to record his patients' reactions to Murray being back at work.

Were they hoping for shock-and-awe, sigh-of-relief, pee-in-their-pants, what?

"The crew wanted to follow him...no interviews or anything. They just wanted to see his patients' reactions," Sevcik said.

She noted that Murray's lawyers informed the crew that they cannot show any portion of their footage until after every legal issue stemming from Jackson’s death is behind him, which could take up to five years.

"We have them on an ironclad contract saying if they show anything, we can sue them," Sevcik says. "So they won't touch the stuff."

"There is no show, no special, no documentary. They just sent a crew to follow him around for his return, and they went home the next day."

Michael was not one of those that has passed.

Thank you for the info. That's what I thought...I wouldn't be surprised if Sneddon planted it or sent it to Mike. Six months and nothing...Murray treating patients and living his life, and he and many others profiting from Mike's death. This will be a bitter sweet holiday. Hopefully the new year will bring about justice.

For me, the star I'll miss most is Bea Arthur.
I saw her live show here in Cape Town. She was a true "original". Her personality, superb timing and quirky sense of comedy was unlike anyone else.She was a truly inspiring performer!

The FBI file was out there...it was going to come out....and at least the FBI did not find enough evidence to pursue federal charges. The computers were clean. Focus on the positive. I expect that we will continue to hear things that we would prefer not to know or to hear...
but the light is going to shine and the truth is going to emerge and one day, hopefully in the not too distant future, there will be Justice for Michael. I am completely confident that the MJ3 knew who their father was, knew his soul, knew his heart, and knew who he really was....I am confident that no amount of mud slinging is going to change that for them.

I hope you are right that there will be justive for Mike. If history is any indication I fear no one will pay for his death. But, you give me the strength to have confidence in that justice will prevail!!! I will 'believe' because I can hold the hands of my courageous blogger friends!!! DN thought releasing those files would be good to shed light on Mike's innocence...just hard to deal w/over and over again. Media twisting is what's toughest.

What frstrates me is the new generation of Mike fans don't know about all the ugliness, and it would be nice to keep it that way...keep it about the music and dance. His kids do not need to hear 'oh, yeah, your dad was a child molester.' This stuff is over with and needs to be buried along with Mike.

I mean from those who would believe he was guilty.

This is media, FaceBook and MySpace are media, newspapers, magazines, radio, tv , the internet, blogs, etc, it is all media. It is up to us as individuals to read between the lines and form our own opinions. Every piece of information provided is open to interpretation...it is for us to find the truth. Everyone is always looking to blame something. I don't think the media as an entity is to blame, rather it is the sensationalist reporters and those individuals with biased viewpoints and personal vendettas that corrupt and use the media outlets. Hate the playah....not the game, IMHO, of course.

And they are a part of the 'media'...but I get what you're saying. I feel the 'media' will do whatever it takes for money and ratings...Bashir was considered 'credible' but was a sell out, so any 'playa' is for sale, even CNN. Diane Sawter rpoved it as well. Ed Bradley...media.

Mike considered him credible.
I guess we can agree to disagree and move forward.:) I feel the media will report things on purpose, in ways that creates pause...maybe not report false info but bits and pieces, not the entire picture, so the public is forced to come to their own conclusions...and in Mike's case it usually is negative conclusions because the bits and pieces are NOT in his favor. 'Playa' after 'playa' has done this to him time and time again. And that is all I have to contribute!

I had to pop by over here because the other bloggy wasn't posting my comments! Weird! lol. I'm gonna keep on S.T.U.D.Y.I.N.G. I'm just so intrigued by everything I have been reading. All that propofol info I looked up pretty much sealed the deal for me. That can't be overlooked, but I know people will anyways. We aren't making anything up, you're right. These are concrete facts. To be a great investigator, you have to look at everything from all angles. Just like being on a jury. You can't convict or acquit someone without looking at all the evidence fairly. So I think that everyone that believes Michael's dead just hasn't looked at everything closely. Because if they did, they would know he is still with us! You can't discredit the facts, no matter how hard you may try, lol. If Michael had been given such lethal doses of propofol, and if it could have been detected, they would have found it in the first autopsy...and they didn't! 😀

You miss the point. Lethal doses were not even administered. Period. I checked and re-checked my facts. A small dosage like that could never be detected 24 hours later, and the drug wasn't even found in the first "autopsy". The police affidavit and Murray's reports were different also. Strange? Yep. Movin' along.. I'm still waiting for anyone to challenge the invalid death certificates, which everyone seems to conveniently avoid the discussion of. Michael is alive. I've looked at all the evidence on both sides, and that's my conclusion. 🙂 Merry Christmas!

I see what you are saying and it does make sense. but you have to remember we still don't have the complete autopsy report.I don't know anything about an invalid death certificate. I remember seeing a death certificate on CNN and I believe it was on AC360. I am sure that program is very credible and they would not have shown us that death certificate if they were not sure 100% that it was real. now I ask you some questions: why is the family saying that mj is dead? if he is alive does not that make them liars? it is not as simple as oops we are sorry we were all acting. what do you think the media would do to them if michael is alive? I found a disgusting conversation that took place on Joy Behar's Show HLN, which is a sister station to CNN regarding MJ which aired December 23, 2009. I have posted it to my facebook discussion on the Michael Jackson Las Vegas Fan Tribute and to all who are members there can read it there. You can also google Joy Behar and look her up on her CNN HLN blog and look for Transcripts to the right of the website. This garbage about MJ is hateful and uncalled for. She needs to apologize as well as those so called comedians.

I made a very sincere request of all fans today on this blog.
I must say I am truly disappointed not a single person responded.. I cannot believe that after all Michael gave of himself for us and gave to us, that we cannot take a single moment of our day tomorrow to say a prayer. A united prayer for Michael and his children.
No matter what each of us believe the circumstances are with Michael right now, this Christmas those 3 children will not have daddy there. There needs to be a name for the feelings of rage and heartbreak and despair one feels when Michael Jackson is equated to OJ Simpson and instead of understanding that MJ was found not guilty because he was innocent and the case was a set up they assume he was guilty and try to figure out why he wasn't convicted.

@Anne – I totally agree with you....the feelings of rage are so strong that there are no words to explain it....I am not surprised that they were trying to equate MJ and OJ Simpson.....two totally different cases, but they are so narrow minded they only see one road. The media needs a refresher course every week on how to deal with mankind, cuz they sure like to bring you down and keep you down, stomp on your face, turn you around and stomp on your legs so you can't get up (not literally of course)....but that is how they break people's spirits (with their lies and unsubstantied claims). They have no right and everyone should be treated equally and with respect.

My husband is dragging me to his Bad Christmas Sweater party!! And he got me the ugliest sweater imaginable!! It is a turtleneck snowman head sweater: the turtle neck is the black hat, 3-D facial features include a protruding carrot nose, pom-pom 'coal' mouth, and the pom-pom eyes are strategically placed right where my pregnant boobs are...looks like extended nipples!!! And the background is swirling red and PURPLE!! Mike, my angel, give me the strength to keep from strangling my man!!!

Nah, it's okay to ask questions! 🙂 Healthy debate is all good! I would never come here proclaiming Michael is alive without verified facts to back it up. I've been pretty busy with my own film and music projects, but I try to post as much as I can. I'm glad people are reading my comments! Anything about our beloved Michael is relevant, right? 😀 We're all fans here! He's so important to me because I went through hell with a father's physical and emotional abuse and spent years in suicidal despair. Michael's music has always brought me comfort, so I'm adamant about defending the truth!

The death certificates appear real, but they are all invalid. They aren't fully filled out, lack a doctor's sig, and certain info on them is incorrect, such as Michael's residence at the time of "death". The whole propofol story is preposterous to begin with. How many of us heard that and said, "WTF??" Or in my case, "What the hay??" lol 😀 That seems to be the consensus with us every day as each new "story" breaks. Everything is just plain weird! Nothing is even believable. I posted *ThisIsAlsoIt Dot Com* for everyone to check out if they wanna read some amazing, intriguing things about what seems to be going on "behind the curtain". The content on that site certainly makes more sense than all these nutty stories the media is printing. Even "This Is It" reveals a lot of what is going on. In "Smooth Criminal", Michael plays a character who fakes his death? And then the whole "Thriller" resurrection thing. The "Liberian Girl" video is also a hint. Look what photo was in the background as Paris spoke at the Memorial. Those photos were at the funeral, too. Michael's a performance artist of incredible genius, and he has been sending us messages for years. Go beneath the surface, and don't take everything at face value. Michael's family is choosing their words very carefully...if you've been paying attention. They never refer to Michael as dead...but "not here" or "gone". Michael Joseph Jackson, the persona, is "dead". He is not deceiving us because he has left enough hints everywhere that tell us he is alive. Some people just aren't picking up on them. 🙁 And we all know the mainstream media won't because they report anything that's put in front of them without questioning the sources.

Anyways, I posted that pic (of Michael in the gold pants) from the Lifetime Achievement Article on my MySpace page (ShelliStar) if anyone wants to see another subliminal message. Another WTF??, so to speak, lol. 😀 It was not photoshopped in any way. Dazzle first printed it out to see the embedded images on it (like on the "This Is It' poster), and a lil additional surprise came up. 😉 Again, another illusion. Very Michael-like! Nothing is as it seems. You're only deceived if you allow yourself to be.

Can you believe it pals; I dreamt of Santa Claus last night, and in my lovely vision came MJ'S face as that Santa Claus. I woke up smiling to the limits...... I went to a christmas mass in church last night at 2300 hours and was half of the time thinking and praying for MJ , and probably thats why I arrived at that wonderful dream. Don't mind having that same dream for the coming week as long as the christmas spirit still lingers on. 🙂

Merry Christmas to Prince, Paris, Blanket, and to the entire Jackson Family.

I finally opened my opus this morning. I had to wait 30 min, because my dad wanted to watch me open it :O) The book is Absolutely Beautiful!!!, it took me 90 mins to look through the whole book. I stopped and read some of the articles along the way. It definitely would have taken me longer to go through the book if I had read everything.

The presentation of the book is stunning. The hardcover book is enclosed in a red cloth hard clamshell case. On the outside of the case is a simple brushstroke sketch of Michael in the famous moonwalker pose. It came with a single white glove.

The artwork that Michael personally commissioned are breathtaking. The captions under each piece of artwork expresses Michael's real reasons behind each one. And of course it's a complete polar opposite of all the twisted negative comments that are made up by other people on the internet and DD.

The people who knew Michael really give a wonderful insight into him as a person, a father, and as a real genius in music, dance, film, and visual arts. Everything, speaks volumes into who Michael was, more than any nonsense that reporters and tabloids choose to print and report. I will have to take notes on what some of the people had written in the book and share them with everyone.

I wish some of the family could have written some things for the book some of their loving memories. It may have been hard for them which is complete understandable.

Someone on of the blog topics posted a clip about the opus and it showed a fold out page of the signed memorial billboard. My opus doesn't have that page fold out. There is a double page fold out of beautiful B&W portrait shots from Michael's "Smile" photo shoot. Where Michael is portraying Charlie Chaplin. The book contains a lot of photographs I've personally never seen before. I started thinking of all the pictures again and I stopped in the middle of writing this post to go look at it again, even started reading some of the articles :O)
