Gosselin named 'most provocative'

Posted: 01:51 AM ET

Jon Gosselin has been at the center of the public eye for a good part of the year.(CNN) - Out of all the headline-grabbing celebrities this year, HLN's "Showbiz Tonight" has chosen Jon Gosselin as the most provocative.

Gosselin was crowned the winner from a competitive pool that included former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, singer Chris Brown, disgraced beauty queen Carrie Prejean and Michael Jackson.

"Jon Gosselin was the tabloid train-wreck gift who just kept on giving!" said "Showbiz Tonight" senior executive producer David Levine. "It was almost like he was begging for attention. Divorce Kate? Check. Date the 22-year old daughter of your wife's plastic surgeon? Check. Consider doing another reality show with fellow train-wreck Michael Lohan? Check. It was almost like he was writing the script for the eventual TV movie about his life."

"Showbiz Tonight's" most provocative celebrity is chosen on the basis of who generated the most continuous shock and interest throughout 2009 and which celebrity's very name sparked a visceral reaction in the general public.

Jon Gosselin, who rose to fame as the embattled husband on the reality television show, "Jon & Kate Plus Eight," fulfilled all of those criteria and then some this year.

Wow Larry,

With such infamous headliners like Sarah Palin, Chris Brown, Carrie Prejean and Michael Jackson, Gosselin tops them!

That's really saying something, it not like the other four weren't complete and total tabloid train wrecks themselves!

We have stooped to an all new low to name this person most anything!! Have we as a scoiety become so bored with our own lives that we will reach to this type of person to watch and fill some void?? Pathetic! 'Provacative'...I'm not sure the meaning is clear!!

So now we have the TTW (Tabloid Train-Wreck) of the year Award? My, My, what is this country turning into!

Poor sap Sarah Palin and disgraced beauty queen Carrie Prejean lose again. I wonder if they will ever get used to losing? And lets not forget kind and gentle singer Chris Brown! Talk about a sorry bunch of people! ~Whew~

Aren't his 15 minutes up yet????
This guy should go for a rowboat ride with Chris Brown and OJ.

Dodie-CA, you will get a kick out of this.

In the most recent interview Jon Gosselin said.

The only thing I regret is that I wish I could have had those kids myself, but of course everybody knows that's impossible.

Sorry Dodie--I just don't see the link between Carrie Prejean and Sarah Palin other than perhaps both are opposed to gay marriage. I just don't see Carrie being elected governor. I often wonder why people don't just post their thoughts on an issue rather than using this blog to sling mud everywhere. Makes one think those are the people who are unhappy and dislike themselves.

John Gosselin is not deserving to have the love of Kate"`~
