elton john1The flu may be on everyone's minds, but it happens to be in Elton John's system - prompting the British musician, who is said to be in a London hospital for treatment of E. coli bacterial infection and influenza, to postpone the Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, dates on his current tour, costarring Billy Joel, the BBC reported.

Monday morning, John's spokesman Gary Farrow told Reuters that, despite the hospitalization, Sir Elton, 62, was "absolutely fine" and hoped to return to entertaining soon. According to his official Web site, Sir Elton postponed a Dublin performance on Thursday after earlier shelving concerts in London, Liverpool, Sheffield and Newcastle.

The American leg of the tour was also put on hold in July, when Joel, 60, was ordered to rest after suffering "flu-like symptoms" and "extreme fatigue." The Pacific Northwest gigs are likely to be rescheduled for December, according to promoters.

It's was really a shame that Elton John was not allowed to adopt a toddler in the Ukraine recently due to his same-sex marriage status and that he is over 45 years of age. The child was HIV positive. This legal-based prejudice in the Ukraine prevented a person who has the ability to get the best medical treatment for the child, give him an education and a home etc. Hopefully he will pursue an adoption elsewhere.

Wishing Sir Elton a speedy recovery.

I'm sure Elton John would be a better parent than a lot of biological parents. I'm also sure it's hard to find a home for an HIV positive toddler.

Get well soon Sir Elton.

Get well soon, Sir Elton. A lot of people in the US love you and I'm one of them. I won't forget that you were the one who got Michael Jackson into rehab when things got out of hand for him back in the 90s. And I want to see you in Oklahoma City later this month! Don't know how in the world you got e.coli but in future WASH those apples before you eat them! Love, Iris

Come on Larry and gang.
Get the H1N1 vaccine or at least have the courage to tell the truth about it.
You don't want to risk getting the shot but my guess is that you really hope I do.
There is a concept called "herd immunity".
It means that when some get the vaccine and therefore immunity, many more will benefit because they will have less exposure via those around them that are protected.
I am also guessing that if you had to choose to be locked in a room with a bunch of strangers who had been vaccinated or those who had not been that you would choose the first group.
Maybe not.
And you are too old to have a pediatrician.
oh wait, for you kids.
oh wait, you are too old to have kids that need a pediatrician.
