Tippi Hedren's Halloween Memories!

Posted: 11:03 AM ET

Do you believe in ghosts?  What scares you?  How are you celebrating Halloween?  We want to know!!!   Tippi Hedren, star of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds”, gives us all of her favorite Halloween memories…  58760110

1. LKL Blog: What is your favorite Halloween memory and why?

Tippi: I had a Halloween party for [daughter] Melanie [Griffith] and her friends when she was about 8 and while they were having their lunch I snuck around to the window in my witch outfit and scared the daylights out of them.  Melanie still remembers this.

2. LKL Blog: What is your favorite scary movie and why?

Tippi: The Exorcist – My ex husband, Noel Marshall, was the Executive Producer and I read it as the script was being written.  In fact, I remember elbowing Noel one night and saying that he had to get this thing produced. Demons have been know to take over humans for century's.  The movie depicted this in such a vivid way that I haven’t been able to watch it again, since it came out.

3. LKL Blog: Favorite Halloween candy?

Tippi: It may sound so stupid but I love candy corn.

3. LKL Blog: What is your favorite Halloween costume?

Tippi: I like dressing up as a witch. Sometimes a good witch and sometimes an evil witch.  There are times I can relate more to Elphaba than Glinda.  My mode of transportation is not a broom, but a feather duster. Seems more glamorous to me.

4. LKL Blog: Do you believe in ghosts?  Any ghost sightings or experiences?

Tippi: Absolutely I do!  In fact, I think I have had a ghost in my house.  Although not active lately, unexplainable things would happen and the kitties were particularly sensitive – especially, Marlon Brando ... the cat not the man.

5. LKL Blog: What scares you?

Tippi: Spiders!  Honest to God, all my life I have had such a fear of spiders.  In fact, I use to have a reoccurring dream about one.  Very clearly, it was black with a red head.  It would sit up in the corner of the bedroom and when it started getting closer, I would wake up in a panic.

Yes, the Exorcist was the film of it's day. I am 54 years old now and I remember when it first came out in 1973.........I would have been about 19 years old. People were going on about it especially us young ones and I believe it was the best horror film ever made.

Until I went and saw it, I was never so frightened. You will never forget that movie.

I used to celebrate Halloween when I was young, but I know better now after finding out the truth about it and what it stands for. It might seem all fun but in reality it is not. It is a celebration honouring the dead......and the dead know nothing. So who are you honouring really. We have all been deceived.

Sorry to spoil the fun but this is the truth.

The Birds is a classic horror movie. Those birds (were they crows) looked quite scary. What a scene. I am quite scared of magpies and they look similar to crows and also mynahs.
