art.kategosselin.cnnOn the night that Kate Gosselin appeared on a pre-taped TLC special answering fan questions, the mom of eight was in California participating with other authors in Night at the Village, a function connected with the Maria Shriver-hosted Women's Conference, where she revealed how she's coping now during her messy divorce.

"I wake up every day, get out of bed, do what I do because of my kids," she said on the panel. "There's many more lessons I've learned, many more things I've been through, more unexpected things, but I think at the end of it all, perseverance, determination and tenacity is definitely what will get me there."

Meanwhile, Shriver and Valerie Bertinelli commented on Kate's situation. "Love your children more than you hate your ex," Valerie said, giving her advice. "She seems to be following it. Her ex does not seem to be following it as much." "I think she's doing the best she can, which is all anyone can ask of ourselves," Maria added.

The event, in Long Beach, California, brought together 10,000 attendees in a 160,000 square foot "women's village," where there were book signings and stations touching on topics including cooking and food, health and wellness, live music and dancing, and even shopping. Proceeds from Night at the Village benefit The Women's Conference's WE programs. The main event of the conference takes place Tuesday.

Good Morning Larry!

Ah, as the plot thickens............................

Jon has only deposited $28,500 into their account. The the remaining $151,500 Jon still owes stated Kate's Lawyer.

Kate failed to show up for a scheduled appearance at family court in Philadelphia in order to attend a conference and book signing in Long Beach, California stated Jon's Lawyer.

This couple is outrageous! This is the problem with our society. You do not have to be emotionally healthy/ stable or intelligent to birth a hoard of children. Both demonstrate a total lack of responsibility and continue to make very poor decisions. You have two narcissistic – Histrionic possibly borderline parents that are totally self absorbed. Because of this, it is pretty predictable that these children will grow up to be a mess. Most likely drug addicts, abuse animals, law infractions and getting pregnant at an early age

The positive side: This is a good lesson for Americans to see how children become drug addicts, pregnant teens, have infractions with the law and abuse animals. The children are NOT born this way. They become this way due to their environment, usually their family environment and parents' inability to "parent"

These children are experiencing attachment disorders as they are being raised by nannys, and other people besides the parents. CPS will NOT remove these children unless they are being physically or sexually abused. Even then, the children are most often returned to the parents. There is just not enough resources to raise all the children in the USA that have been abandoned emotionally. Very sad but true!

This entire destruction of a family is not for public consumption. Jon and Kate should get off the air and look after their children. No more discussions about how Kate is coping etc, when they sought fame they brought this on themselves. The children are clearly suffering. They will suffer more when the are old enough to read all of their parents' dirty laundry. All of this will be with them for years.

Kate says she does whatever she has to for her kids daily. Do them a favor and stop discussing this publically. There are many, many single moms (and dads) out there who do their best for their kids daily. They do so without huge pay checks from TV producers. They do so with some dignity and concern for their kids well being. Stop being media stars and start being parents.

After watching Jon & Kate plus Eight for about a year, I knew it would just be a matter of time before Jon "bolted.' With each episode, you could 'see' Jon getting more miserable from Kate's constant criticism and nagging him. THAT is exactly what caused me to finally have a nervous breakdown, and leave my marriage (many years ago.) Being criticized for everything by someone with a control issues, and by someone who doesn't have a sense of humour, just slowly wears down your self-esteem, until you just can't take it anymore. Although Jon has reacted in a way that displeases 'some people', you can't blame the guy! He was brainwashed, he finally 'snapped' and 'rebelled', and now you have two rebellious parents, and eight young children, who have no idea what "real life is!" I feel so sorry for these kids ... and like others, worry about what they'll be like when they reach their teens (adulthood.)

I hope this SHOW is completely taken off the air, and that the kids soon start being raised BY their parents (not nannies), with no TV crews around, and then they'll have a chance to learn how to live a normal life. Better late than never!

Kate needs to shut up and quit complaining about her problems in public. She and Jon chose to have children and thus, they should accept the responsibility of parenthood without anymore commotion.
