Will there be another Kennedy in the Senate?

Too bad, I will miss the show tonight.

To Teddy & Patrick,

We are so sorry for your lose. Your Dad was an amazing American, who served his country well.

God bless you & your families.

kathy   September 14th, 2009 7:18 pm ET

there will never be anyone that will be able to replace any of the lost kennedys. they were a gift from heaven . they say dont ask why god takes good people i wish i had a answer.

Adrienne   September 14th, 2009 8:11 pm ET

I have the utmost respect for the Kennedy family. Although, I am a independent who usually votes Republican, Ted Kennedy was my favorite senator. If I lived in MA, I would have voted for him. He was a wonderful role model as a parent and citizen, despite some shortcomings( Chappaquiddick and his divorce). May God Bless the Kennedy family.

I think Teddy Jr is a excellent role model for the disabled and does not need to be in politics. He can push for what his father wanted to help the disabled just where he is.

Larry, I have a question, I am just curious how is Joan Kennedy doing?? We never hear about her. Despite Ted's divorce from her, he treated her with respect. I remember in '85 after his divorce from her, that he had a big picture of her in his office. I thought that was very respectful, even though they were not married anymore

Looking forward to this interview Larry. Thank you. This does not get you off the hook though. I will ALWAYS be mad at you at how you treated MJ and his death investigation. ANd also for having Jim Moret on so many times. but, I will watch you this once.

God Bless the Kennedys.

c k   September 14th, 2009 8:33 pm ET

i doubt it, larry nobody like teddy

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:00 pm ET

Its too bad about your dad guys my dad died too five years ago and i still miss him .

LB   September 14th, 2009 9:09 pm ET

Spiritual? How spiritual can a murderer and adulterer be?

LB   September 14th, 2009 9:13 pm ET

A Vatican official said:

"Here in Rome, Ted Kennedy is nobody. He is a legend with his own constituency. If he had influence in the past, it was only with the Archdiocese of Boston, and that eventually disappeared too."

Irene Carrera   September 14th, 2009 9:15 pm ET

I feel the pain that Teddy Jr, and Patrick have felt, I to have lossed my dad 9months ago. I was Devastated for them to have lossed their father and I feel that someone IMPORTANT to Me & my family as well as the World has left us sooner than we Wanted. I know that Senator Kennedy is probably up their with his brothers' catching up and sailing. I send my Deepest Sympathies to their entire family because his nieces and nephews' have lossed their father all over again. I LOVE the Kennedy family Dearly and I hope that this country can progress in the future the way Senator Kennedy and his brothers' had wanted.
Sincerely,
Irene S. Carrera

Suzanne Ortega   September 14th, 2009 9:16 pm ET

Wow that post above was harsh.
Anyway, he really did a great job holding his family up. I hope his sons can continue the Kennedy legacy. Ted Jr. really looks like a Kennedy. Larry King,Can you please ask them if either will run for President in the future?

LB   September 14th, 2009 9:16 pm ET

When are people going to start telling the truth about the Kennedys? I had read somewhere that when one of Robert F. Kennedy's kids was crying he told the child, "Kennedys dont' cry."

How cold is that?

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:17 pm ET

Here in America Ted Kennedy was a warrior and a unsung chief of democracy and the right to live the American dream

LB   September 14th, 2009 9:18 pm ET

Those people at the funeral were either living in the past or don't know the Kennedy's personal history of alcohol & drug abuse, adultery, rape, and yes murder.

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:24 pm ET

We all know the past and some of us needs to quit living in the past.

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:27 pm ET

The good deeds of these man will always out weigh there mistakes.

Raul   September 14th, 2009 9:28 pm ET

The eulogy of Teddy Kennedy by Ted Kennedy Jr still brings me to tears. He is one of the last truly iconic political figures of our time. A MAN of the people for the people, ALL people

Max Lawson   September 14th, 2009 9:29 pm ET

We need term limits in Congress, the other night when Mr. Wilson disrespected Mr. Obama this was very unprofessional and unbecoming of a Congressman and he should be reprimanded. Mr. Wilson did not have the to call Mr. Obama himself to say he was sorry. Wilson has the best health care in the world, he doesn't care about the American people, just his own ambitions. WE NEED TERM LIMITS. and if we don't get term limits we won't ever get anywhere. "Duh, Mr. Wilson, a government options means just that, a choice, duh!
Max, United States Army, Retired.

LB   September 14th, 2009 9:36 pm ET

@michael armstrong sr., I am curious how do you "outweigh" murder?

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:37 pm ET

There is no curse its just the dare to step over the line that others fear.

Arlan   September 14th, 2009 9:38 pm ET

Larry, ask Ted's sons if they know the truth about Mary Jo.........

........where's her memoir?

LB   September 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

Kennedy's kids act like Chappaquiddick happened to him. Ms. Kopechne was the one who died. If he had reported the accident in a timely manner she would probably have been saved.

Mary Mtl   September 14th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

A great man, a good father, a good husband and a real friend. He will be missed, by his colleague, and by me either even if I am from Montreal, he was my best senator for his frank speech. I am so sorry.

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:42 pm ET

This is how you out weigh murder first its done by conviction second its done by intent and third its done by the love of your country.

Sheila Stone   September 14th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

Our prayers are with Lisa, the wife of Patrick Swayze and the rest of his family! He was a man who loved his wife and remained married and devoted to her, which showed the true character of Patrick Swayze the man, Which is why he was such a great actor, he put everything he had in what he did! As I'm sure all his friends and Co-Stars are aware of! He will be missed by all! We have lost another good actor and entertainer in 2009, at an early age ! As a cancer survivor,[ who has lost both Mother & Father @ an early age to Cancer and other family members, too ]! I am deeply greatful for the things the actors and actresss' that have lost their battle to cancer have shared with the world, and have done that will help other's in the future !Lots of Prayers Sincerely, Sheila, AL

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:49 pm ET

At least some people realize that there from another planet and earth people dont like arguing with dining room furniture.

Wanda Doty   September 14th, 2009 9:49 pm ET

It is impossible for me to watch Larry King Live this evening because of the annoying pop-ups and flashing name "Larry King Live and CNN" so prominent across the bottom 1/4 of the TV screen. It is so blaring and flashing and totally disrupting to the program. Enough to give a migraine headache! Please discontinue it. At least on the computer it is possible to stop pop-ups, but my only choice with the TV is to turn it off. I've enjoyed the show for years until now.
Thank you.

michael armstrong sr.   September 14th, 2009 9:54 pm ET

This is what you should do next guys go party and wait untill the smoke clears.

Karen Skarp   September 14th, 2009 9:56 pm ET

Ted Jr. is his father's son. I believe he should be the next "Lion" and will be the next patriarch...hopefully.
I was so touched and inspired by him. Thank you, Larry.

Gratefully,
Karen A. Skarp

Jane - WI   September 14th, 2009 9:57 pm ET

It's great that Senator Kennedy had a strong Catholic faith, and that he believed in helping the poor and weak. Just wondering what his strong Catholic faith said about killing babies via abortion? These babies are among the weakest among us, and it seemed Mr. Kennedy sanctioned them being killed.

Sheila Stone   September 14th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Kayne West should have been pubically escorted off the MTV AWARDS last night, after the DISRESPECTFUL way he treated Taylor Swift! No excuses excepted! Since the MTV awards honored Michael Jackson in the spirit of LOVE, Kayne sure wasn't connected to the Other's in unity to pay loving tribute to MJ, and all the MTV winner's..!! Thanks so much to Byonce, she showed her love & integrity in an ABUNDANCE!! She proved once again, she's a Lady and very professional!Pray, Kayne West is NOT invited to ANYMORE AWARDS, he doesn't deserve to & using ALCOHOL as an excuse want work either, if he's an alcoholic then he need's to get help! NOBODY deserved what he did and the Awards personal shoul make sure the FANS are not at all happy at the way Kayne so ruidly disrupted Taylor Swift, and it should not be tolerated! It was obvious he hurt her, and schocked all watching, we hurt for her! Sincerely, Sheila, AL

Sue   September 14th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

I wonder why there was absolutely no mention, even by name, of Ted Kennedy's daughter, Kara. I don't know if she was asked to participate or not, but regardless, she at least deserved acknowledgment. Sexist bias??? Shame on you, Larry.

Arlan   September 14th, 2009 10:07 pm ET

Wrong blog, Sheila, but good comments.

pat feinstein   September 14th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

Thank you to the Kennedy brothers for sharing their father's story with us! My father also died from GBM. We send you our thoughts and prayers!

Kirsten   September 14th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

Sen Kennedy was Pro-Abortion. He could of saved millions and millions of precious little lives but chose not too. I believe everyone has the Right to Life, the starts with our Unborn Babies.

Kirsten   September 14th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Jane from WI – Glad you picked up on that too, that Sen Kennedy was a Big Pro-Abortion advocate and did nothing to Protect our Unborn Babies. I still can't believe, All those years of Govt Service and he did not save a single baby from being Aborted.

Susie Apexander   September 14th, 2009 11:27 pm ET

yolanda   September 14th, 2009 11:35 pm ET

both brothers are very articulate !..& honest !

Dodie ~ California   September 14th, 2009 11:44 pm ET

Sarah Palin called President Obama a terrorist. DeMint states his policies are pure socialism and Rush Limbaugh called President Obama a socialist and a racist .

If you agree with these pillars of dogma, I suggest you stop looking for the men in black and start looking for the men in white coats.

Dodie ~ California   September 14th, 2009 11:52 pm ET

@ Kirsten

Women have had abortions since the beginning of time. Most have done it with a back alley hackers who not only mutilate the baby but also the woman. When a woman wants to rid herself of a fetus, she will do it regardless of where she has to go or what she had to do. End of story!!!

We have so many children in groups homes needing to be adopted. I recommend you adopt a dozen or so if you are so worried about babies. Don't just drop the responsibility on Ted Kennedy. You are also part of the problem unless you start adopting today!!!!

I am so tired of listening to people complain about all the unborn fetus but are NOT willing to adopt one baby or child!!!

If you really care, then adopt...adopt...adopt...adopt!

Kathleen   September 15th, 2009 12:18 am ET

How bueatifully the dream lives on in his children, family and hopefully in the inspiration Senator Kennedy passes on to the rest of us.

Melissa   September 15th, 2009 1:11 am ET

I just saw the interview and I am crying! Your dad was an outstanding American, but most of all a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and man. He reminds me a lot of my father whom passed away as well. He had a true gift of insight and leadership. He will be truly missed by all. Please keep his legacy and causes going! God Bless all of your family! This country is a better place because of you father! Prayers and thoughts are with you!

Judy   September 15th, 2009 2:48 am ET

I am deeply sorry that the kennedy sons lost their father. It is always hurtful when someone loose someone they love. God Bless them. But I don't want to see another one in Congress or the House of Rep. I for one have had enough of them and how the media makes them out to be our "Roylality" they are not. I cried when his brother the President was murdered, and the only other one I really liked was John Jr. I am sorry for the family but enough is enough.

Gerald Jolly   September 15th, 2009 8:47 am ET

I am so proud to be an Irish American, and last night Patrick and Ted Jr. did their father proud.

In my eyes they are still the elite family of America, because of their family values, everyone of the Kennedy's are involved in some way to help and stand up for people in America, and all over the world, they have been well raised and we are proud to say "THEY ARE AMERICANS"

I will always keep this family in my heart.

I have two heroes in my heart.

# 1 my Irish Grandfather who raised me, after my Dad was killed in WW2
# 2 JFK possibly one of the greatest Presidents we have ever had.
And I now have a # 3 Hero, his name is TED KENNEDY.
"I WILL MISS HIM."

Carol Gordon   September 15th, 2009 8:54 am ET

Good day,

Loved the show last night, to Patrick and Teddy and to all the Kennedy Family, im so sorry for your loss...Your dad was a great man!!!! no one will ever replace him in political life.

I am Canadian and have always followed politics, your family showed so much strength and honour throughout all you have endure.

I am looking forward to reading your father's memoirs

Jacqui   September 15th, 2009 8:54 am ET

I am shocked how when we are taught to forgive 7 x 70...and we are told to confess our sins and that God will have divine mercy....that the most religious among us cast out their harsh judgements...are these the true hypocrites? no wonder it is so difficult for people to hold onto their religious beliefs and pursue their spiritual journey. Ted Kennedy was far from perfect but he was no different than the rest of us....a sinner. May God grant him peace and his family.

Tessa   September 15th, 2009 9:02 am ET

Ted and Joan had the finest looking sons and when Ted, Jr. spoke..he sounded exactly like the late Ted, Sr. Same accent and same tone. ..sounded like a young Ted, Sr.

Kara Kennedy is suffering from lung cancer and she's only in her 40s. So many unfortunate things happened to the Kennedys.

WAKE UP MR. PRESIDENT!

MR. PRESIDENT, IT IS STUPID TO ASK STATES TO PUT UP MONEY
TO GET FEDERAL MONEY. STATES HAVE NO WAY TO GET MONEY
EXCEPT FROM TAXES. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS THE ABILITY TO CREATE MONEY, AND IT SHOULD.

EVERY LITTLE COUNTRY OF THE WORLD HAS THE POWER TO
CREATE MONEY; NOT ONE OF THE FIFTY UNITED STATES HAVE
THE POWER TO CREATE MONEY.

MONEY HAS TO BE CREATED BEFORE ITS EQUIVALENT VALUE
CAN BE PRODUCED. MONEY SHOULD ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE
FOR CREATING GOODS AND SERVICES.

IF PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT HAD LISTENED TO REPUBLICANS, ALL
OF US WOULD BE MARCHING TO THE GERMANY GOOSE STEP.
REPUBLICANS ARE TO BE PITIED, BUT IGNORED.

WHILE THE WORLD WALLOWED IN DEPRESSION, ADOLF HITLER
WENT TO GREAT EXTREMES TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE
MONEY SUPPLY; AND THEN CREATED THE MONEY NEEDED TO PUT ALL THE PEOPLE TO WORK PRODUCING GOODS AND SERVICES.

MR. PRESIDENT, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 8, OF THE CONSTITUTION GIVES THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALL THE POWER NEEDED TO PUT ALL THE PEOPLE BACK TO WORK OR BACK IN SCHOOL. THIS RECESSION IS A PRODUCT OF IGNORANCE.

THE NATIONAL DEBT IS NOT NECESSARY. MONEY SHOULD BE TIED THE VALUE OF THE GOODS AND SERVICES THAT AMERICA'S HANDS AND MIND PRODUCE.
WE NEED TO GET OFF OF A GOLD STANDARD MENTALITY. WE DON'T NEED ANY OF CHINA'S
MONEY. WE CAN NOT GO BANKRUPT UNLESS WE LET IGNORANCE RULE. WE CAN NATIONALIZE
THE NATIONAL DEBT IF NECESSAY.

GETTING THROUGH THE MINDSET OF CONGRESS
AND THE NEWS MEDIA IS LIKE GETTING THROUGH
THE MINDSET OF KIM JONG-11 OF NORTH KOREA

Gouging is not inflation. Inflation is a euphemism for theft.

To control gouging, America needs a Department of Consumer

Affairs. Gouging steals from the consumer, other businesses
and shrinks the money supply.

Why did you "STINK UP" this blog with your "MORONIC" B.S. and "REHTORIC"

You have caused me to "VOMIT" because of the "STENCH" you have posted on a format that was intended to honor a great American and his sons.

I think I know what you are, because I thought that this morning after I did my morning toilet duty, that I had flushed you down into the sewer, where I am sure you live.

By the way why do you use a name beginning with an "E"

Is your real name "EXCREMENT"

YOU SURE AS HELL SMELL LIKE "EXCREMENT"

In the words of the famous "NAY SAYER"

GFY- A-HOLE

A real man/woman, not a sleazy coward, would not be afraid to identify himself/herself.

You claim to have the conviction about ehat you have to say.

Then have the "GUTS" to identify yourself.

"REDNECK BIGOTTED MORON"

Terry, TX   September 15th, 2009 11:49 am ET

Teddy Kennedy was an alcoholic....a murderer and coward with regard to Mary Jo's death...never held a real job only a govt job...took nephews out drinking and whoring...and one gets charged with rape...now the boys want to sell his book....NAH....it don't pass the smell test....

I do have one question for him....why did he back Obama and throw Hillary under the bus...especially after his brothers were killed in the following way....

-John F Kennedy murdered in Dallas by an American Communist Socialist Russian/ Castro loving creepy left freak....OH NO SHADES OF VAN JONES.
-Robert Kennedy was our first Islamic Terrorist Killing by Sirhan Sirhan in the name of Muhammed and Jihad.... California commuted his death sentence to life imprisonment in 1972.....he is still sitting in a California prison

dkalach   September 15th, 2009 12:10 pm ET

Teddy, Jr looks exactly like JFK

TJ   September 15th, 2009 12:54 pm ET

To Dkalach–Yes, I do agree that Teddy, Jr. does look like the late JFK. He is a fine looking man and even sounds like his father the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy.

The Kennedy sons are good looking men but I always wondered what on earth happened to the Kennedy daughters?? The Kennedy girls looked manly while the Kennedy men inherited fine looking features whereas the Kennedy women inherited the prominent hard jawlines!.

kris   September 15th, 2009 4:30 pm ET

I have had an infatuation with the Kennedy's most of my life. I was in fourth grade when President Kennedy was killed. I just want to say that Senator Kennedy was someone who gave a new meaning to patriotism. God bless you Patrick and Ted Jr. and you will always have so much to be so very proud of.

Gerald Jolly   September 15th, 2009 6:10 pm ET

Terry, TEX, here's what does'nt pass the smell test.

TERRY, EXCREMENT, FROM TEXAS.

Now that really does'nt pass the smell test.

I'm very surprised to see you posting on this blog.

I apologize to the "SANE" folks on this blog.

I was sure that I had "FLUSHED YOU DOWN THE TOILET INTO THE SEWER THIS MORNING" but it seems that you slithered your way back out.

PHEWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

GEEEEEZZZZ! YOU STINK SO BAD!!

UGHHHHH!

Terrie   September 15th, 2009 6:12 pm ET

Kris-Yes, I do remember when Pres. Kennedy was assassinated and as a young child, I was glued to the tv set for three days watching the funeral. The Kennedy brothers were the most handsome looking men and all the women were just falling all over them including the late Marilyn Monroe, Angie Dickinson, and others. It is hard to believe the three famous brothers who made up the Kennedy Legacy are now gone and there is only one left which is sister Jean Kennedy Smith.

I remembered my mom used to say that life was so much better when President Kennedy ran the country. People were employed and the living expenses weren't that high. Life was so much simpler back in those days as compared today.

I hope the Kennedy cousins will continue to carry the Kennedy torch.

Lawrence Wilkins   September 15th, 2009 7:27 pm ET

If someone called a Judge in a court of law a LIAR,
they would be arrested. Shouldn't Joe Wilson be arrested
for calling our President a LIAR?

internetfreepress.com   September 15th, 2009 8:59 pm ET

I AM A DEMOCRAT
But, what is the point in electing more democrats in 2010 if
the devil damn democrats we now have do not have the guts
to pass some kind of health-care bill; and maybe we should be
thinking Clinton for 2012. Just trying is not good enough, Mr. President.

Yes, there will be another Kennedy in the Senate.

Sir Wilson-Concerned Citizen   September 15th, 2009 10:38 pm ET

Since Obama has been in office the republicans have gone against every single proposal of the President.. I don't care what you say, it is definitely racially driven. It is sad that the country's best interest is not at heart!!Only the hopes of Obama's failure is the focus of the republican party!! The states will never be united!!!

Sir Wilson-Concerned Citizen   September 15th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

Bush could never take the bull by the horns and articulate his ideas in a way that is coherent to both the intellects as well as the laymen. Obama genuinely cares about America and its people!! He is the true essence of a peoples president. He truly cares about health care and the people being treated fairly by the bloodsucking insurance company ... Read Morebecause he empathizes due to his not so fond memory of his grandmother passing and having issues wih healthcare. He has a true stake in the whole healthcare debate.
