Never Before Seen Kennedy Photos

Posted: 06:32 PM ET

Photographer Dennis DeSilva has photographed Ted Kennedy for decades.  From official portraits, to Hyannis Port, Dennis was kind enough to share several of his photos with the LKL blog.  Some of the photos he gave us, have never been published before.

Yesterday I visited St. Coletta's in Jefferson, Wisconsin. This is where Rosemary Kennedy lived for many years and Ted Kennedy, I hear, visited her often. The school and campus is closing and a sale of old furniture was taking place. I drove around the beautiful grounds and saw tall corn growing nearby, empty swingsets, empty buildings and people on hand to buy old furniture for a bargain. I felt the end of an era completely, thinking of the Kennedys visiting here, where so many helpless people have lived over the years, along with the Kennedy's financial and moral support. The nuns are gone, the campus is closing, Rosemary, Eunice, Ted are dead. I felt the end of an ear, completely. God bless this entire family for what they have tried to do for the disadvantaged among us.

we all know & have in our families a mentally retarded child or a child w/a disability ..etc...I hope Congress can help us, especially w/Autism..private schools cannot help, Catholic schls cannot help, we FIGHT w/the public schls to help, we hire lawyers who fight for children w/disabilities/expensive/...GWBush took away programs for the Autism spectrum.....perhaps more Kennedys will be in the Congress sm day to help...vaccines are harming our children ,,thanks for listening..

think Joe Kennedy/Patriarch had a lobotomy performed on Rosemary when Rose F K was out of town..outrageous ! it was the wrong thing to do..she probably only had a mild disability..she could have been helped..a man cannot accept this..so when a person has money he thinks he can help w/money, but he did the wrong thing...& she stayed w/hom w/all his wrong doings...an amazing woman...her genuine pearls were so heavy she needed loops inside her dress to hold them up/invisable loops/ ...

Much thanks for the photos of Ted Kennedy. Thanks for the Kennedy interviews. Such a relief from the other tabloid pop stories which I have clicked off over the last few months.

I have been much inspired by the Kennedys since my childhood. I have been particularly inspired by Senator Kennedy with his work for social justice, service to community and country, reflection and knowledge of history, passionate action to improve the future, committment to family, and strength to rise above flaws and tragedy.

what happened to the blog on Sen. Kennedy, I enjoyed reading all the comments. It was interesting to learn that Sen & Mrs. Kennedy sang "show tunes" after dinner when they entertained...Music is very important to the heart & soul..we must have music in our lives..it's an inexpensive, fun thing to do., singing is good for our lungs & entire body & well being, doesn't matter if we're off/key..as long as we enjoy doing it..it's optimism at its best..There is always sunshine after the rain..

Thank you so much,Larry, for the Best of Ted Kennedy show! I watched all of the CNN coverage this weekend ,I'm glad it was so extensive. For me,being a life long Massachusetts resident,it is like losing 'family'.He's always been there to look out for us,to push for his people. His passion and commitment to us will be hard to duplicate.I will miss him : (

I grew up in England always believing the Kennedys were Icons, and also a very close family; now at 61, I still believe they are, my mind has never changed. although they have all made mistakes some that will never be forgotton; the bottom line is that even though Teddy has gone, they will still go on. The Kennedys will always be admired by me. There are some fantasic kids in that family who have learned many things beside the normal stuff; and I will not believe that because Teddy is not here that we have heard the last of them.
God Bless this family may they Take Care & Stay Safe.

If anyone has not seen the show IN TEDDY'S OWN WORDS (CNN) then see it, it is great, I saw it twice.
