UFO 'appeared over jazz stage' in UK

Posted: 08:19 AM ET

An alien with a lemon-shaped head and a jazz-themed encounter with a UFO at the Glastonbury Festival are among hundreds of UFO sightings detailed in the latest batch of documents released Monday by the UK's Ministry of Defence.

Fourteen files, containing over 4,000 pages of UFO sightings from 1981 to 1996, have now been placed on Britain's National Archives database and are publicly available online.

The sightings range from lights in the sky to close contact with aliens, and the files contain detailed analysis on some of the UK's most popular cases - a number of which remain officially unexplained.

In one incident in 1995, two men in their 20s from Staffordshire, central England, told police they saw an alien with a lemon-shaped head descend from a hovering UFO and tell them "We want you; come with us."

In another sighting recorded by defense officials in 1994, two women at the Glastonbury music festival reported seeing a UFO floating above the jazz stage

This certainly seems to qualify as breaking news.

About 80% of UFOs are conventional objects that have been misidentified–Venus, the moon, stars, satellites, meteorites, balloons, secret government projects, jokes, hoaxes, and so on. Someone sees something unusual and then sparks a wave of "saucer fever" was everyone starts watching the sky.

Not all these reports can be so easily dismissed, however, especially those seen and radar and visually. Not all of them can be explained away as temperature inversions or defects in the radar system, especially when experienced police officers, pilots and military personnel make the reports.

There is a hard core of cases which have never been explained, and various governments have been investigating these quietly since the 1940s.

Those UFO's are called baby planes, there are 1500 of them. There is one Mother Plane that's a half mile by a half mile wide. You can read about it in Elijah Muhammad's book. They are not from another planet.

Hi Everyone, I really liked tonights show on the UFO's and the research finally being released by the U.K. I live in Santa Barbara, California, and in the spring of 1967, my neighbor and I went for a walk on Moore Mesa and were spotted and followed by approx. 7 to 9 unidentified humanoids which I believe are refured to commonly as "Greys' It was around 9:30 pm and when we got back from what we thought was a short walk, there was over 3 hours of missing time. Other neighbors saw a ufo from their homes. Many years later, I also had a life threatening accident on a deserted road, and was resqued by some "men in black" My story was written about in a book by "Tom Dongo" called "The Alien Tide" ( ISBN 0-9622748-1-X ) on page 59, under the alisis of "Kathy Miller" The men in Black experince is also in the book, on page 16. I am not trying to sell books, I only met Tom Dongo for one interview in Sedona over 22 years ago. I have my B.A. in Liberal Arts, and when I work, it is as a public school teacher. I did write to Whitney Striber about 10 years or so ago, on his Unknown Country site as he is the only other person I have communicated with who has also seen the little fellas. So what do I think about UFOs and Aliens? They scare the living heck out of me. On the one hand, they did not hurt me, and also they in fact saved me and my pets when we almost drove off a mountain, but on the other hand, I am very afraid of being alone in the dark on the mesas around here. I did go back to my school paper to see if any mention of UFOs in the spring of 1967 were there and I did find a referance to it listed as a "rumor" and that in fact it was a weather balloon. I swear on my mother's good name that these things did happen to me and a classmate all those years ago.
