Search Warrants imply Michael Jackson was drug addict

Posted: 07:09 AM ET

Search warrants filed Thursday in court in Clark County, Nevada, and carried out at properties of Michael Jackson's doctor imply that investigators looking into his death believe the singer was a drug addict.

he warrants, signed by District Judge Timothy Williams and given to CNN by Las Vegas affiliate KTNV, say "there is probable cause to believe" that searches would uncover evidence at the Las Vegas home and office of Dr. Conrad Murray of excessive prescribing, prescribing to an addict, excess treatment or prescribing, unprofessional conduct, prescribing to or treating an addict and manslaughter.

They cite "probable cause to believe" that the premises contained "records, shipping orders, distribution lists, use records relating to the purchase, transfer ordering, delivery and storage of propofol (Diprivan)."

A source told CNN on Monday that the Texas-based cardiologist allegedly gave Jackson the anesthetic propofol - commonly known by the brand name Diprivan - in the 24 hours before he died.

I wonder any body has questions about the doctors who did all those plastic surgeries. I read some procedures Dr. Arnold Klien did lasted for 6 months. So Michael has to go back again to repair his nose. As a doctor you have to stop when you reach a certain point. They must have known they are damaging his face. I believe there could be unnecessary procedures done to his face just to get money. I hope police discover it during the investigation. Michael was so concerned about his face why would he want to do it. On Larry show Dr. Arnold said his nose doesn't look real to him so he wanted to repair it. That could probably be the idea these doctors gave to Michael every time they needed some money. Who knows? Now I believe most of the doctors who treated Michael didn't have his best interest. Instead they had their own wants. I'll never believe what these doctors are saying.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 7:40 am ET

What's the big deal if MJ had another son. I just don't get it. The same thing is what is the big deal whether or not Michael is the biological father. If this is MJs son and he did not want to tell us that was his business. I could really careless about biology. MJ is the father plain and simple. Give it a rest... Now on the other hand, MJ a drug addict, I think not. Why can't the LAPD figure it out that the doctors gave MJ the drugs... He was no addict... How can a father of 4 children expose them to this type of a life. I think not.. Why can't the LAPD look at all the enablers starting with Dr. Murray all the way down to Debbie Rowe and look at them instead of Michael. Common now, you are killing the family and fans. I REFUSE to believe that Micheal was an addict...

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 7:47 am ET

B you said it Dr. Klein is just as involved as Dr. Murray. Dr. Klein's day will come... Anyone notice why Klein is keeping mum... I still believe that Debbie Rowe went to his office the other day to cover her behind. Common LAPD Dr. Murray isn't the only one... Look at MJs face, listen to MJs plastic surgeon, Dr. Klein did wrong. He probably was the one doing the Dipivan the last 2 years prior to Dr. Murray. Get with the program and arrest both Dr. Murray and Dr. Klein.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 7:50 am ET

Now what is getting me is, how was all these Diprivan ordered by Murray when he didnt have the proper license to get them. Surely, where there was ordering it from had to check the validity of the person they was sending it too. And if it was taken by hospital workers at the hospitals or clinics, some had to notice that Diprivan seemed to keep disappearing from the medicinde room and not matching up with the inventory list. So there would be a number of nurses involved to because doctors would normally send them to that room to retrieve medicine because they are normally the ones that has the room keys.

mariau   July 31st, 2009 7:57 am ET

oh yes.. his an addict.. let me say something here, its almost 1 MONTH DEA and LAPD, investigate and search warrant to dr. murray.. of course Murray has lots of time edit or delete his files in the computer. he can edit file and simply write the name likE PRINCE MICHALE, OMAR, OR ETC.. NAMES.. FOR GOD SAKE.. IT'S ALMOST 1 MONTH BEFORE THEY SEARCH HIS HOUSE... WHAT ELSE COULD WE EXPECT?
Dr. Murray has prescribed the drugs in different names.. and still he is responsible to his death.. i believe that if give drugs to addict still its offence.

b   July 31st, 2009 7:58 am ET

I totally agree with you Adrienne. I don't believe Michael is an addict. I also don't get it why people are trying to find out who the bio parents are. Maybe Michael wanted to keep those personal information private. Many people adopt kids. I don't think its much of a problem. I think its very inappropriate to discuss who their father is. Michael raised the kids as his own and he is the ONLY father or parent they got. I think the media should not be talking about it like that. Why hurt the 3 beautiful kids? They know Michel Jackson as their father and that's how should be. And i think everyone should respect it. Michael may have kept important information available for his children when they grow up. What we see is pictures and videos. Or what some people say. We don't know what is happening inside their lives and what Michael told or didn't tell the kids.

Cocovelvet   July 31st, 2009 8:00 am ET

Correct ADRIENNE. MJ was NOT an addict by his own choice but he was enabled by others, ofcourse all those doctors who prescribed him massive and dangerous drugs maily due to their greed for money; MJ was simply a cash-cow for anybody who managed to push the hand into his pocket and get out with something.

Why is MJ ridiculed as a drug addict as if he first went to a college of drug addiction and got a certificate for practicing drug addition!!???....come on LAPD, those doctors were responsible enough to know that they were supposed to help MJ get out of his habit of taking too much drugs, if at all it was addiction as they refer to it, but instead they perpetuated the situation and made it so dangerous for MJ to the point of killing him as it did.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 8:12 am ET

Has anyone thought that maybe those prescriptions names were created by MJs inner circle?? Why is everyone so quick to point the finger to MJ? I firmly believe if he was that bad of a drug user it would have been made known. They found out everything else about MJ why not drug use. MJ was framed with the child abuse allegations and I believe he is being framed with the drug use.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 8:20 am ET

Cocovelvet– Personally, I think that the LAPD, the media are all trying portray MJ in a negative light as a FREAK, a druggie. Common. MJ is the VICTIM here and Dr. Murray, Dr. Klein and the other enables are the victimizers.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 8:23 am ET

Yes Adrienne, they was hired to do a job and THEY used other peoples name to get the drugs for Michael they know how to go about doing it being in the medical field. Like always people want to blame Michael

jenny(AUSTRALIA)   July 31st, 2009 8:35 am ET

The LAPD,and the media will always blame Micheal, they are all hiding the real truth, and blame MJ for everything.
If he was a drug addict, why was it discovered now,why didn't anybody do anything about it when MJ was alive/
This is ridiculous, and MJ wil never RIP.
It is so unfair, I am so angy at all this ridicule!!!

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 8:38 am ET

I have no problem accepting MJ was an addict. Let's call the spade the spade. My feelings about him do not change because of this, because he had lots of reasons to become desparate. He probably at some time passed the point of no return and could not decide for himself anymore. It is still, as I already said 100 times, beyond my comprehension that the people that cared for him are now "surprised".

The signs were literally written all over the wall. Janet found him in an empty and dirty house in Vegas, others have had strong doubts too. I know it hurts declaring someone you love an addict, but to me it seems a lot of people have been in denial during the last decade.

Malaika   July 31st, 2009 8:39 am ET

Michael was made an addict by enablers, Klien & co must be put away please!

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 8:41 am ET

Good Morning Linda.. Well said. My thoughts exactly!!

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 8:43 am ET

Exactly, Linda

Everyone on here that takes pills for something is an addict then, we are all addicts.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 8:44 am ET

Good morning, Linda and Adrienne

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 8:44 am ET

Elisheva, do we know that for a fact?? That sounds just like something that Ian Halsperin wrote in his trashy book. Anyone notice that he sudden has been silenced. THANK GOD AT LEAST THE TRUTH CAME OUT ABOUT HIM!!

Malaika   July 31st, 2009 8:46 am ET

is LAPD suppose to be biased? why are they saying Klien is not one of the pple being investigated? Klien is as guilty as HELL!

jenny(AUSTRALIA)   July 31st, 2009 8:46 am ET

I agree with you Linda, I strongly believe they are hiding alot, and just want to blame MJ, and not the real criminals.
Did they charge Dr Murray? What are they waiting for ? Why is is taking so long? They keep focusing on what Micheal did, and what was found in his body, but what about thinking about, how, and which doctors were involved in supplying all the drugs in MJ's body.

I will always love MJ, no matter what I read about him, he was a kind human being that offeref alot to this world, even though it was cruel to him!!!

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 8:47 am ET

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 8:48 am ET

I hate to say this... But don't think that Tom Sneddon knows people in LAPD. I smell a rat a dirty rat called.. CONSPIRACY!!

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 8:52 am ET

You guys you know I rewatched that 60 minutes special... I was wondering do we know for certain that MJ was totally cured of the effects from the arrest in regards to 2003 allegations. MJ said that he could barely move his arms. If he still had difficulty then there is NO WAY possible that he did the needle marks. Why aren't the LAPD looking at past videos like we are...

Malaika   July 31st, 2009 8:53 am ET

this jus shows hw sick the system is really, LAPD hating MJ soooo much that they willing 2 let these pple (Klien, Murray & co) get away wth MURDER??? GOD FORBID!!!

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 8:53 am ET

Malaika, look what they did with Rodney King, OJ and now MJ. Biased is putting it mildly in my opinion.

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 8:53 am ET

No, in one of his shows Larry mentioned it, it's not Halperin, though H. probably would like to wave the flag for this. He hates MJ so much.

I think we should separate facts from emotions. The fact is that Michael used a lot of aliasses to score prescription drugs. All kind of pills for anxiety, pain and insomnia. That makes you an addict if you so desperately try to obtain them, even out of other states.

This doesn't leave out the responsibilty of doctors and/or pharmacists, so I guess some people out there are in big trouble. It could be,l although I doubt it, people kept him on that mix of drugs on purpose, so then we come back again to the point that MJ reached a point he not longer was able to decide for himself. This is also a trait of addiction: one enters a cycle where one cannot come out of without help from an outsider.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 8:56 am ET

Yes, I'm an addict just like Michael–So,what. People need to stop with the judging already. I don't have a problem admitting that michael was going through alot of stuff; but Dr. Murray kept feeding him these drugs. I believe that Dr. Murray was hired by AEG to make sure that Michael had enough energy to do the additional shows, and they didn't care at what cost. Yes, Michael was taking prescriptiond drugs before he met Dr. Murray, but Isn't it possible thay maybe Dr. Murray gave a dosage that was too strong for his body. Why is Michael the culprit all of a sudden?

jenny(AUSTRALIA)   July 31st, 2009 8:57 am ET

They are supporting each other, because they are all SMELLY RATS!
There are so many secrets that will never be told.
It is so sad that MJ is still being criticized by the press and the LAPD.
I think the Jackson family should speak out, and stop all this nonsence.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 8:58 am ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel

How you know Michael used the aliases? The doctors would be the one to do that because they dont want to send mulitiple amount of medicine to the same name and lose their license. That does make make you an addict if you are trying to get medication for trying to help yourself become more stable. Michael wanted to SLEEP there is nothing wrong with that. Michael cannot not get drugs because he is not a license professional. DOCTORS DO THAT.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 9:00 am ET

Elisheva, that's just hearsay. Even Miko Brando said he heard something about it. No specifics I don't believe that Miko is hiding anything. I think he really does not know. And he is speaking of his friend in nice terms. I believe if that was the case, it would have been true... What you are referring to is a part from Ian's book. I also remember hearing about it on LKL, but like I said that is hearsay. Unless it came from Janet herself, I don't believe it. Even Brooke Shields said in her interview that she had trouble with access to MJ. I believe that the inner circle cut out everyone from MJs life. That's why he thought no one cared IT has taken me a long time to realize it, but I do. That is why it hurts so much. He was so alone and the only people that could help him were his enablers. This must destroy the family.

Do we know for a fact that he provded those? I believe the fact that only certain people had total access to MJ– listen to the Kai Chase interview, even she could not go to his bedroom... I think that the inner circle needs to be questioned maye they provided that.

jenny(AUSTRALIA)   July 31st, 2009 9:08 am ET

It is hard to say whether MJ was so alone, I mean he did have his 3 children, but did he have any close adults friends that he communicated with all the time, or were those doctors his only friends!!
It is so sad to knowing that he lived this way. Money will never give you happyness.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 9:09 am ET

The media and LAPD like to portray the doctors as the yes men. But, they are not the yes men. MJ was the Yes man. All he wanted was help and look what he got. How are you going to say know when a doctor tells you it is okay? What is MJ expected to read a PDR and educate himself on drugs. I think not. These doctors took advantage of MJ plain and simple. I am at the point right now, that I hope that Dr. Klein gets in as much trouble as Dr. Murray. MJ invited this man to home, his children were a part of his life and look what he did. I am still angry at what that plastic surgeon said. There is no excuse for having a nurse administer demerol– 1800 mg a day that is ridiculous. Both should be locked up and thrown away the key. This is why I am totally against DR having access to the kids. What is she going to tell Paris and Prince, oh by the way I contributed to your dad's drug problem. i think not...

mariau   July 31st, 2009 9:09 am ET

Adrienne, lets look at Michael way back in 80's 90's at that time he is really brivant star, very healthy man.. after his two trials .. we saw him different. as we all know mj was tormented by media and haters for almost 35 years of his life. as we all know what was the cause of his pain.. the pepsi commercial.. when his scalp burned during the commercial. the pain that we couldn't imagined. he suffered so much pain in this accident.
if Michael was a drug addict, i guess he will die early than his age of 50.
they Michael went to UK to clean, and he rehabilated himself to start a new life without painkillers..
but still, Michael had doctors, the same doctors who taking care for him. the doctors prescribed him with more dosages.
and now.. he met Dr. Murray that much evil to his other evil doctors..
let me tell you this... Dr. Murray and Dr. Klien, and other doctors they are not taking care of Michael, they're killing him... slowly.. slowly tortured.. by their prescription. because Michael if he gets well, where this doctors get high profit and income??? for 25 years of his life, those doctors especially Dr. klien... how much money did he get to Michael? for almost 25 years ...
maybe that's why Michael lost his money...

i guess, we were immuned to hear that all over again... again and again.. they wont stop ... they hate Mj.. and that's the reason why.. it's getting ugly, and uglier... because they want us to shut down, they want us to stop loving him and honoring this "MICHAEL".. They wanted to tell all mj fans around the world.. that only CRAZY FANS WILL LOVE A DRUG ADDICT JUNKY "POP ICON".. AND STOP HONORING THIS MAN.. THIS MAN IS JUNKY DRUG ADDICT...

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 9:09 am ET

I think Mjs only happiness was his children, everyone else was shut out by the enablers.

jenny(AUSTRALIA)   July 31st, 2009 9:10 am ET

The LAPD will always hide the truth, as they have the upper hand, they have the authority. Dr Conrad should be put behind bars, he is the resposible one, this is so unfair. There is simply no justice in the law.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:11 am ET

Yes, they should all be put away. They all played a part in Michael's death.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 9:13 am ET

I don't care what anyone says MJ was no drug addict. I don't recall anytime when they were not making up something about MJ. He has been portrayed as a gay man, freak now drug addict. I refuse to believe it. i remember in high school that he was teased for having a hotel room next to Disney World.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 9:13 am ET

Its very strange, that MJ would be very carfull about helthy foud, and thann he distroy hes body with drogs. But at a same time the chef said, that dr Murey was carie every day the oxigen tank,so thay was use it every day.Is it possible to gat addictid to demerol,if its burn down so fast, and gat out of the bodysistem?

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:14 am ET

Maria u
you are so right; whey would they Michael to get well. He was their cash cow.

jenny(AUSTRALIA)   July 31st, 2009 9:16 am ET

I will always love Michal, no matte what they say.
He was not a JUNKIE, they are all themselves.
I wanrt justice for MIcheal, all the doctors were abusing him, and using him for his money, they should be pusished!!!

jenny(AUSTRALIA)   July 31st, 2009 9:18 am ET

Micheal Jackson was a gifted human being, and will never be forgotten.
LONG LIVE THE KING OF POP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 9:21 am ET

Everyone should listen to Michael Jackson THEY DONT CARE ABOUT IT. And I mean listen to the lyrics and you know why the LAPD are biased in this.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 9:22 am ET

But why thay hate MJ,why are thay not proud of hem?

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 9:22 am ET

very scary...

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 9:24 am ET

Stu, have you listened to the Louis Farrakhan speech about MJ??

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 9:26 am ET

I am not sure.Is that the psihologist, who talk about raceist?

mariau   July 31st, 2009 9:26 am ET

jacquelyn, it's obvious because by the time Michael was accused to his first charges of Child Moletation, they went right away in his ranch.. that night for search warrant. .. the police did not wait after 1 month to search and investigate..

but for Michael... it took them so long to search and investigate the doctors house, clinic and office.

and remember.. the death ceritifacate of Michael was immediately released.... unknown caused of death.. its really obvious police are biased....

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 9:29 am ET

I will be back later guys.. Have good day.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:30 am ET

When MIchael was acquitted; Tom Sneddon was pissed off. I just know he is involved with this.

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 9:32 am ET

The fact that nobody was allowed to enter his inner sanctum made they could not literally see him doing drugs. But I am sure Janet et al knew something was going on. To be honest, why didn't they go to the police? If I could not reach my brother but was so worried I would not let go until I reached him.

Miko is in denial. We haven't seen him at LKL anymore, it is my gut feeling he is hurting a lot, not only because of the loss of a dear friend but because of the quilt he didn't persue.

Apart from AEG, who was his inner circle? Didn't he have Nation of Islam bodyguards? Couldn't Farrakhan clear up some things, it were his guys that were the closest to MJ.

I just watched Kai Chase. I always tape LKL. What a nice lady. At some point I saw she was fighting against tears. They would have made perhaps a nice couple, she and Michael.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:33 am ET

LAPD is know to be bias when it comes to dealing with African Americans.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:35 am ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel July 31st, 2009 9:32 am ET

I don't let people in my bedroom either. So what.

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 9:35 am ET

@Jacquelyn, this They don't care about us, might have caused him to ease the pain with pills. have you listened to "Oh my God, he is taking demerol" . Where does that come from? IMO Michael already in 1997 gave a sign something was going on.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:37 am ET

What I don't understand is how NO ONE was able to speak to Michael or see him besides his inner circle. Not even his family.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 9:40 am ET

Thay are discusting.MJ was 1 of the most fames peaples ever, and he was american.Everybody loved hem (antil thay didnt say lies about hem).Thay should be very proud of hem.I dont understand,LAPD is not made out of peaples?Everybody love MJ,but LAPD peaples?
Stupid world!Wats diferent,if somebody is not white? This was a person, with who generations was grow up,and he make somany peaples happy with hes music, dance, klips, koncerts.Plus tha somuch help, wath he did.aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!Shame on LAPD!And the hole world see this, wath thay are dooing.

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 9:40 am ET

@Linda, you can love Michael just as much him being an addict. This kind of denial has made it all came to this point. It is not a shame to be addicted. He went through hell, I am not sure who I would live through such a bad time. It is not s judgement, it is common sense.

It is all about self-destruction: the never ending surgery, the insomnia, the pills. Michael gave signs enough, we should not pretend they were not there.

Of course there were enablers, but when are enablers able to fullfil their plans: when their target is not capable of fighting back anymore, when he has become weak. That is a trait of addiction.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 9:42 am ET

Demerol is a morphin painkiller?I love MJ,but i think,he was useing this drogs (morpin, propnol). And i can understand why.

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 9:42 am ET

I think Farrakhan and his bodyguards can perhaps clarify more. They protected Michael. How come they would not let MJ's family reach him?

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 9:43 am ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel

I answered the demerol question in the other post. Anyway, They dont care about us, his about him as a black man and having people being racists against him. Like I said listen to the words and you would know that. That's why they dont like Michael.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 9:45 am ET

Elisheva,i didnt know about this signs, and even if i would know,i am just a nobody.Hes family and frends should be there for hem.And maybe,if thay would be there, and let olso the world know about it,thann maybe we could show aor love, whenn he needed.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:46 am ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel July 31st, 2009 9:40 am ET

Of course, it is not a shame to be an addict, but Michael's name is being put throught the mud already by the press, LAPD, etc. I don't think that we his fans have to help them. Addict or not I still love Michael.

mariau   July 31st, 2009 9:47 am ET

STU, they hate michael because...

Michael Jackson, throughout his life and in his death, has been ridiculed and revered, vilified and vaunted. In many respects, his story represents the highest possible highs and the lowest possible lows that life can present to a human being. Michael Jackson’s tremendous talent, success, wealth and public adoration were at odds with his extreme loneliness, fear, addiction and destruction of reputation by public opinion. In the end though, Michael Jackson was much more than an entertainer. His contributions to the entertainment field are no doubt profound. However, it is his broad cultural impact that truly transcends economic, social, political, racial, religious and generational barriers. Jackson rose from being simply a magical performer into becoming a humanitarian of historic import. He was a modern day messenger, a visionary storyteller who raised the level of consciousness for citizens across national boundaries.

This level of contribution is what the social contract demands of those who are blessed with natural gifts, power and wealth.

NotSayin   July 31st, 2009 9:48 am ET

The only way the DEA Agents could secure Warrant is because of the suspicion of drug usage, through what they found in the home in that guest closet. I do not like the term Drug Addict either, because it sounds like something off of skid row.
The Coroners had to have known initally what happened, why do you think they used the word 'deferred' . They found something unusual and they sent it out for more extreme testing. If it was only Drugs, they would have said so and closed the case.
It's so sad. Once again, everyone fell down on their jobs. The Dr. wasted time to cover something up, thats a given, the Police wasted time securing that home, the Agents dragged their feet getting the Warrants, then a power play in Las Vegas to secure that Warrant.
Remember folks, just because Michael Jackson took an assortment of prescription drugs, does not make him an Addict. Somebody who started this Proponol a long time ago is the one at fault here. I blame the Doctors who worked on his face.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 9:48 am ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel July 31st, 2009 9:42 am ET

I would like to hear why Michael's family was kept away.

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 9:53 am ET

I guess people slander him for different reasons: race, but also because I bet many people are still not 100% convinced he wasn't a child molestor.

I think this is a process. It is way too soon to see a balanced look. Eventually people will start appreciating MJ's talents and accomplishments again, but this can take a while.

In the meantime people react impulsively. This will stay for a while again. Soon there will be also new books. Rabbi Boteach is writing "Into the soul of Michael Jackson" at the moment. How presumptious.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 9:54 am ET

The officials just said they will not release Michael's Autopsy or Toxicology report to the public at all.

Being an addict that doesn't make MJ a bad person, that only tells us How much in distress he was.....

Addicted people are not necessarily bad people or ridiculous, they're just people in great distress....

Being in distress has nothing to do with being good or bad: It's SAD.

mariau   July 31st, 2009 10:21 am ET

IF THIS IS TRUE.. luda, then where on the right track.. that there's conspiracy... but first.. should not gossip, i hope its facts...

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 10:22 am ET

Did anyone catch the caller on JVM last night where she asked Jane if this Dr had a license to write priscriptions and Jane asked Gloria Alred a completely different question? you tell me they didn't dodge that question. They knew the answer to that and didn't want to say anything.
I think this Diprivan was secure by other means, through another doctor who worked on Michael before, it wasn't one bottle, it was many. As for the other medications. nobody knows who called those in or asked for them in the first place. Protectors of celebrities do a lot of sneaky things. Watch, that diptrivan is going to go back to either Dr. Klein or another doctor in the same office building. If it is found out that this dr. ordered the oxygen tanks, then it will show he knew what his job was, doesn't matter if Michael wanted it, demanded it, the Dr. should have refused. Maybe this is why Jackson had to go outside of Los angeles to find a Dr who would do this, his name was probably on a list in the area with the advice 'Do Not Treat Michael Jackson For Diptrivan Use'.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 10:25 am ET

I read that too. About time someone investigates AEG

mariau   July 31st, 2009 10:27 am ET

Marylee, yes i agree to you, it doesn't matter Mj demanded, ordered it.. still the doctors made an offence... still the doctors are responsible to michael's death..

Luda   July 31st, 2009 10:28 am ET

Linda, I'm not kidding, I read that on the web, I just hope it's true but I'm being very careful about what I read on the web especially regarding Michael.

In fact, I read that yesterday, so I thought : I will wait... and this morning I saw an other article about it, so I thought I'll tell you... seems the autopsy report won't be next week they postpone it again... so I suppose they're still discovering things....

mariau   July 31st, 2009 10:33 am ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel July 31st, 2009 9:40 am ET
To Michael Jackson beig an addict is not shameful, because he is not using cocoine, ecstacy, or other substance.. he is taking painkiller medicine.. His case was different to a natural addict..
he is suffered from pain..

Malaika   July 31st, 2009 10:34 am ET

Michael is & was not a BAD man addict or not. these SMOOTH CRIMINALS (Murray, Klien & co) are definitely BAD & DANGEROUS?

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 10:40 am ET

Malaika July 31st, 2009 10:34 am ET
Nicely put; I like that–

Lori Quebec Canada   July 31st, 2009 10:42 am ET

Michael was no addict but I do believe he was addicted to perscription drugs and he was that way because of all those doctors.......they made him that way.......insted of them helping him they perscibed drugs to him so they could keep their hands in his pocket.....they should all be locked up and the key throwen away because they are all to blame...doctors are suppose to help people not kill them......

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 10:43 am ET

Olso, dont mether, wat the tox. report is.Demerol could burn down,so maybe thay cant see,and the other drogs could be injekted after,so dr Murey can blame MJ.The dr said hem self, that he injekted proponol to MJ.
And yes,to be addictid to a painciller is not the same, like addictis to heroin.

Malaika   July 31st, 2009 10:45 am ET

Linda- thanx

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 10:49 am ET

No it has not been postpone. They are not releasing the results to the public. Period

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 10:57 am ET

I know, Dr. Murray admitted to injecting Michael with Propofol–Put him away already.

Mara   July 31st, 2009 11:01 am ET

Good Morning Jacquelyn

Honorine   July 31st, 2009 11:08 am ET

I too really wonder why the tox results are taking so long. Are these(LAPD, AED.....) up to something. They better not plan to keep the resulst and not tell the public. We want to know and need to know.

Poor MJ, people have always wanted to put u down.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 11:09 am ET

Good Morning Mara

Honorine   July 31st, 2009 11:13 am ET

i agree. Any doc who keeps on prescribing medication to a supposed addict must have an agenda. What doc even does that.

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 11:15 am ET

I agree, put him away already. He won't be the only one going down the tubes on this. This is part of the hold up.
Something else occured to me. I keep hearing and seeing all these names used on these priscription bottles. Sounds to me like whoever worked for Michael instantly had their name used to get a RX. Was this the norm or were these people asked to go to the Dr. as part of their employ to get this stuff? There's a lot fo shady Dcotors but how could so many do the same thing, filling all these drugs? I hope they all get busted big time!

Honorine   July 31st, 2009 11:18 am ET

People are even banging on this "drug addict" thing. They wanna see drug addicts? The real addicts are outhere and they can't do anything about that. when it's MJ, ah!!!

Belgium   July 31st, 2009 11:20 am ET

I've been saying this all along Michael was a drug addict. If he would have been a regular Joe his kids would have been taken away from him a long time ago.

It is totally ridiculus that his fans still want to maintain the image of Michael "the saint". Giving him the Nobel Price for Peace!! That is a disgrace for a the Nobel Price winners past and future.

Blaming the doctors is up to the law. Not some stupic witch hunt by blindsided fans.

Michael cared about nothing but his druguse!

Yes I know I should get a life and not attack the biggest entertainer the world has ever seen.

Honorine   July 31st, 2009 11:22 am ET

There is a lot of cloudiness about all the medications and names.
Exactly MARYLEE how come every other doc did the same thing? This really tells me that none of those a-holes gave a damn about his life.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 11:37 am ET

You know what occurred to me by reading you post, is that when you first get a presciption filled you need identification to prove your identity, and after awhile the pharmacist would not ask you anymore thats if you come there on a regular basis. So that means in order for you to get your presciption filled the person had to be there. But if they didnt that means the pharmacists knew it was a phony but wrote the prescriptions any way because they didnt care, all they cared about the money. So those are 2 things that could have happened.

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 11:45 am ET

OH THANK YOU, LUDA! Best news for a Friday! I am guessing this is now a different type of investigation, but co-joined with the Homicide of Michael. Yippee!!!! things are moving rigth along, not as quick as we all would like, but it is moving! They want to see those records of who hired thie Dr.They want to see a check stub, a contract with this Murray...YEAH! I bet they find it too 🙂

We should all give ourselves and each other a pat on the back and a hug because so many people cannot be wrong! We are here and somebody heard us! Justice For Michael!!!!! The Lord Does Move in Very Mysterious Ways-YES!

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 11:52 am ET

Thats right, Jacquelyn, you need to show ID until they get to know you for any RX.

I can tell you all why the reports will not be published. Without a doubt, they know. this just shows you, they found something other than just a plain OD or death by heart attack, it's criminal and they are going to the Courts, they are going to start bringing these a holes in and they do not want to breech anything that would taint the soon to be trial and jury-HOORAY!

mariau   July 31st, 2009 11:52 am ET

Marylee, – thanks God... we will .. we will never stop... we will never stop.... muaaahhhh.... to everyone...
God bless us..

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 11:55 am ET

Nice! 🙂

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 11:55 am ET

@ Belgium,

Aren't you overreacting? It is true addicts will do everything to score and they neglect themselves, and yes, perhaps MJ could not always be the father he should have been. But as far as we can see now, he did provide for loving and responsible care for the kids. I think he knew himself better than some people want to admit.

@Jacquelyn, I haven't read the news about the autopsy report yet, but this could be the intake of drugs was even worse than we thought. Maybe it is better not to know. Apart from the right to have privacy, I guess the family does not want to expose MJ to the slander that will come from the facts of his addiction. From the beginning I had the feeling he was in real bad shape. Basically we can say he was destroyed, also physically.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 11:55 am ET

Marylee-I really hope so-then maybe Michael will get justice.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 11:58 am ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel

It may not have to do with drugs at all. Its the coroners decision whether to release the report or not. Michael's name have already been hit with slander, have you not notice that, or you in denial that it has?

mariau   July 31st, 2009 12:05 pm ET

lindafrom new york...
we hope so..

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel
belgium is not overreacting? she is ignorant... she/he doesn't know what addict means... or what kind of medicine the addict taking..

are you guys thinking that Belgium blogers..its just a username by Diane Diamond or Nancy grace.. because it's obvious.. this blogs is full of love not hate.. this blogs is full of hope not disgrace..

Terry (St. Louis)   July 31st, 2009 12:09 pm ET

MJ, was very good entertainer because of his evil father Joe Jackson due to his pressure. Through his life I feel her despised his father and loved his mother to death. Michael really became withdrawn along time ago when got burned in the pepsi commercial and that's when his troubles all started with pain-killers because he himself made a pubic announcement about it. He even tried to get help for himself then with the help of Liz Taylor, but it did'nt last because he began changing himself and I believe him did it because hated his father so bad he didn't want to look nothing like him because he began to look like his father. That's where Dr. Klien/Debbie Rowe came in with the drugs and then he started again.....Their are other Dr.'s in between but Dr. Murray was the one who slept when MJ was sleeping so him could'nt be monitoring him and when Murray woke up MJ was already dead and was trying resiutate him on the bed when fool knows you're suppose to be on a hard surface, so Dr. Murrary you actually accidentially killed the KING OF POP!!!!!!!

Luda   July 31st, 2009 12:21 pm ET

They are not releasing the results to the public.

Juanita C. McDonald   July 31st, 2009 12:31 pm ET

"It is a shame that Michael had to be the one to die at the hands of a Drug Dealer. Maybe this is what it took for Dr Murray to finally get caught for all of his wrong doings...

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 12:31 pm ET

Maybe they will tell us something, but not everything, just to satisfy us.
Something was on the news this morning about this subject, saying the Coroner changed their minds again. Whatever that means. right now I wish we had that Sunshine Law like in Florida, where all public record is just that, public record.

Belgium, Go pull your lip over your face and swallow, ok? You do not have to be over here acting like a jerk. Your execution of how you put your point across stinks.

I don't think he was such an addict as maybe dependent on some medications. there is a difference. Who's to say if somebody else didn't keep feeding his dependency? Maybe all those drugs that were in that closet, just maybe were still packed from the move. In looking at pictures, it seems Michael was a bit of a packrat. Who knows, maybe his staff packed them up or maybe that doctor knew, of course he knew they were there. Would he not question that in his capacity? He's no Doctor, he is a drug enabler and used his license to get away with it, along with all the rest.

Juanita C. McDonald   July 31st, 2009 12:33 pm ET

...on top of all the others that are involved. I will not rest until they are all exposed."

Juanita C. McDonald   July 31st, 2009 12:38 pm ET

"This so called Dr Murray is a failure. After reading how he's in so much debt, lets me know that he was definitely not on Michael's level. He should have been hired as the gardener... anything to keep him from being inside of Michael's home."

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 12:53 pm ET

No they said nothing more would be told to the public

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 12:58 pm ET

We will have grand jury Indicments and swift on the Heels will be the huge Civil Case mounting up agaisnt all these dcotrs by the Jackson Family...this family needs a rest, but for now, they must fight and so sould we, clearly this is at least 'Intentional Manslaughter' because the Dr. knew it was wrong, he didn't have the irght equipment, he knew better not do to do that so it was intentional because he went and did it anyway. Wonder what Clinic is missing some Diprivan????

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 1:01 pm ET

Thats shows me this is B A D for all involved then.
I hope they bring in this Dr. before he takes the cowards way out.

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel   July 31st, 2009 1:02 pm ET

Jacquelyn, if you mean that I slander MJ by accepting him being an addict, I can tell you I am not in denial. Actually it eases my mind, being open about it. I think too much things about MJ have been in the closet. He might have been saved when people were willing already a long time ago to acknowledge the seriousness of his problem. And I am not talking about the media, which have been slandering him for more than a decade now. As I said before, a lot of crocodile tears are flowing in his surroundings. I hope it will be a lesson for all people, to recognize and accept that a loved one is in trouble and act upon it.

We are talking about seperate responsibilties. The doctors and other enablers will face their sentence. But the other parties involved will be scratching behind their ears for the rest of their lives.

Belgium   July 31st, 2009 1:03 pm ET

Wouw this blog is as well for me as for you. This is America and I have freedom of speech. It's not about me. It's about painting the whole picture of Mr. Jackson.

All his fans want do is preserve an image that realy isn't there.

I know get a life. But I refuse to listen to insults to my person. Nobody on this blog knows me. Or what kind of person I am.

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Then explain to us, Belgium, if he is such an addict, how could he even have a minor facial procedure done? They do blood work before, always. what happened in the past should stay in the past. He admitted he had a problem, done. He did not die of a drug overdose, if he did, they would have said it and moved on. We are talking about what is now, what has happened now and it involves a drug that should not have been there AT ALL and the idiot Doctor admits to giving it to him, not once but a number of times for sleep. Granted, The Doctor could have made a better suggestion, but he did not so he is guilty.
What gave you the rights to paint this picture? Did you live with Michael? did you go and get his priscriptions for him? Who actually got these other pills? Who also was taking them?
This situation is an entirely different ballgame. Michael was being controlled. high priced Dcotor staying with him, this is a big investigation now. The people have spoken and somebody heard our cries. And thank god for that Cheryln. If it wasn't for her speaking out, nobody would have thought to look for that.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Elisheva, Jerusalem/Israel

Read my post again about the slander because you misread it.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 1:21 pm ET

Do anyone knows why one of the lawyers for the Will backed out. They are not giving any information on that. Something must be wrong.

agnes   July 31st, 2009 1:24 pm ET

i think the police should also look for these enablers because i think Michael would not be addicted to these pills if there were no enablers around him. I firmly believe he did not die because of these pills but there is this IDIOT DOCTOR WHO MOST PROBABLY GAVE HIM THIS DRUG WHICH IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN AT HOME AND KNOWING THE FACT THAT HE ISN'T AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST.

Honorine   July 31st, 2009 1:36 pm ET

That happened? Now, that's really strange. I tell u people need to start speaking the truth. A lot of things are not adding so i guess some people(like the lawyer) dont wanna get caught in the middle. That's interesting. i didn't know that.

mariau   July 31st, 2009 1:38 pm ET

to jacquelyn i have no idea. really, because i need to concentrate this issue of dr. murray before anything.. because as you know everything's getting uglier... i just hope and i pray to God that Michael can have fair justice.

Honorine   July 31st, 2009 1:43 pm ET

That's a good one. Anybody on this blog must be a fan in some way.

Juanita C. McDonald   July 31st, 2009 1:53 pm ET

Lisa S   July 31st, 2009 2:16 pm ET

Jaqueline, I have also wondered about that. I think that person has a lot of infromation to give.

I agree with those of you who say that Michael was not doing well. Ive looked at his body through the years and it has not been looking good. Just think about other 50 years old in your surounding. Do they look like that? Think about all kind of people, ahtletes, nurses, teachers, builders etc....Think it your father, husband or brother looked like that, wouldnt you worry?

i dont think he was anorectic but there was something else, if it was drugs or another illness the future will tell. But I dont understand those who say that he looked so healthy and strong.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 2:26 pm ET

maria u–I LOVE IT

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 2:27 pm ET

you mean the one of the ones Michael Appointed

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 2:29 pm ET

who cares about the bio parents? sarah jessica parker used a surrogate to carry her twins and i didn't see anyone make a big deal about that or to demand the identity of the surrogate?

but i really hope the prosecutors go after these doctors. and we need laws passed that doctors can NOT over prescribe someone. i also was on a strong medication once that knocked me out cold and i needed it to go to sleep. but my doctor never told me the side effects or the dangers of this drug. i was under the assumption that because my doctor felt i needed it...that i did in fact need it. i was on it for 2 weeks and this was 4 years ago and am happy to say, i haven't been on it since.

so i hope people understand, instead of criticizing michael so harshly, understand why and how he took those pills. obviously those doctors saw nothing wrong with he in turn felt the same way. when you feed an addict a drug they're addicted to and also helping them to become more addicted to other drugs...that's not helping. that's enabling. it really saddens me that none of these doctors staged an intervention or chose to speak to his family about mj's addictions. it was just too good to make so much money off of with elvis. those doctors didn't care about him. he was one of the wealthiest men in the world! that's all they care about.

i say we need tougher laws and to criminally prosecute doctors when they over prescribe someone. and also, mandate that doctors must inform patients of any side effects and dangers to these pills.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Yes it is. So now I wonder, all is not what it seems.

Cindy   July 31st, 2009 2:29 pm ET

I think that Adrienne is right and we need to stop talking like MJ was still an addict. My God I can't believe how people are so willing to believe all the lies and half truths on his life. So many of them have turned out to be false and the truth finally told by Kai is just one example. They kept saying he was emaciated and MJ didn't eat and he wasn't healty and yet Kai said he ate three very good and healthy meals a day. That boy Omar is not Michaels son and he in fact gave an interview where he stated quite clearly he and his mom were friends of Michael but he is not Michaels son but the stupid mass media is ignoring that because the so called "question" gives them more to talk about instead of listening to the truth. I've watched as report after report has turned out to be false. Hasn't anyone every for once thought that more than likely MJ did not call the doctor himself to request pain meds and just maybe some of his staff were making those calls to the doctors requesting them for Michael when in fact they knew they could get away with it and the meds were for themselves. This is crazy how no one wants to look at anything else but what they think is true not the actual facts. No one close to Michael through these past years has EVER seen Michael take any medications so why don't people thing that there is a possibility that Michael wasn't an addict. Did he use Profandol that I think is probably right because his whole life he had a problem sleeping but I think this crap about all these hundreds of pills could be wrong and it was members of his staff and security getting the meds for himself. How many times did Michael himself pick up these meds and I'm betting he didn't so who tracked that possibility that it was his staff that was ordering and picking up the medications for themselves. Everyone is way too quick to blame and I think until there is solid proof of everything we need to stop judging and speculating.

Belgium   July 31st, 2009 2:29 pm ET

Nope I got nothing more to say to you except that you are very stupid and ignorant.

It's also very rude to yell. Yes i'm back. Michael had to lay on the bed to put the needle in his arm to administer the Deprivan. De doctor could not administer that while he was running from the doctor.

For your information in Belgium they make chocolate and beer. The President for one likes Belgian beer a lot.

In my medicine cabinet is Vicodin. I have been taking that for 3 years for injuries I had involving a car accident. 4 pills daily. No more no less.

P.S. I don't think I need to explain everything I do, like I said it's not about me. But you people keep attacking me and the land of my anscesters. A'm an American by the way.

People - of course there is a STRONG motivation to portray Michael as an addict. (I don't know if he was or was not).

Remember - the Tour insurance that AEG procurred to cover the first 10 shows in the reported sume of $17.5K allegedly was only going to pay out if MJ died from "a drug overdose." Now AEG has made buck selling the rehersal footage to Sony, so maybe they are not as desperate for funds to cover their loses. But think about it-enough said.

Even if MJ was known for all these sad things we are hearing, doctor shopping, obtaining prescriptions under other names, etc. IT DOES NOT MATTER, if as we keep hearing that if was the Diprivan/propofol
that was the cause of death.

If Michael was using diproval, he couldn't do it by himself.

And will someone tell me please, why are these doctors who say Michael asked them for diprovol, why did they not take steps to make sure that Michael did not have access to it? If he was asking for it AT HOME, wouldn't a responsible physician or friend be able to do something more proactive to keep Michael and diprivan away from each other??

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 2:46 pm ET

everyone, just ignore that belgium person. and to belgium and anyone else, yes fans realize michael had flaws. nobody's saying he was a saint, he was a human being.

what's being discussed here is fairness and ethics. most fans agree, michael's paternity to those kids should remain private. he was a loving and caring father and those kids adored him...enough said.

but about the pills...i highly encourage all americans and everyone else to be fully informed on the dangers of prescription drug use. anyone can get hooked on them! these doctors convinced him there's nothing wrong with these pills and that he NEEDED them. see, that's what i think some people are not getting...michael felt he needed them cuz a doctor told him so. same with me...i was under the assumption that my doctor was looking out for me and that the med. i was on, was for my benefit. now, i don't think he purposely tried to drug me, but again, nobody informed me how addictive one medication can be.

Lori   July 31st, 2009 2:51 pm ET

There is allegedly such a HUGE volume and quanity of these prescription drugs and so many many names. Is it possible that someone in the "entourage" was using Michael JAckson to obtain these medications and then using them themselves or ciruclating them elsewhre.

Could this also be another scam to tarnish Michael Jackson. I mean it seems like everytime he had something big coming up –something extremely negative about him turned up in the press.

Maybe Michael was justifiably paranoid?

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 2:55 pm ET

Could this be scam? I definitely believe it's a scam.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 2:56 pm ET

GOOD JOB LADIES, YOU SAID IT ALL. The big problem is the cover up games, not one will admit guilt here. PLS. answer to why they did not secure Michael's mansion ASAP? What took them so long to investigate the quack? Was it because they didn't care whether Michael lives or die? Too many errors done. Searched Houston first then 6 days later Vegas? What's their excuse for that? I just hope and pray that MICHAEL'S DEATH GETS JUSTICE. He had been thry so much from the bad guys and here he's dead and not one has been arrested yet. Giving the quack time to hide some more evidence. Gosh, How come the MEDIA CAN't get the quacker on television. Who's protecting him? Need to tell the public what quacker told them during his questioning. They are very vague. kEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADIES AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR WHAT YOU ALL DO FOR MICHAEL.

Lisa S   July 31st, 2009 2:56 pm ET

I dont understand how you are thinking. Could you elaborate a bit? Are you saying that michael did not take drugs?

Nobody could get him to eat barbecued ribs but connect oxygentubes and putting tablets into his body they could do against his will? I dont think that anything got into Michaels body against his will. The oposite, people tried to prevent him from taking stuff but he found people who were willing to do that.

Why did Michael call that nurse instead of calling Dr Murray. Anybody who knows?

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 2:58 pm ET

So far, I've heard three people say that Michael mentioned that they were trying to kill him. Dick Gregory, The Lawyer that came on with Joe Jackson and then last night Kai Chase said the same thing. Connect the dots.

Traci, New Orleans, La.   July 31st, 2009 3:00 pm ET

I work in the Courts & deal with a lot of drug addiction, some not by choice, I don't think MJ would expose his kids to that type of life. A lot of doctors's are involved, pain killers are very addictive & can cause insomnia. Doctor's are to say no when they see the early stages of addiction not enhance the addiction, when they see $$$ & Michael Jackson horse of a different color? Now a family has lost a loved one, children have lost their father, we have lost a talented icon all for what $$$. Justice will prevail.

Belgium   July 31st, 2009 3:01 pm ET

May God bless you and the people you love.

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 3:06 pm ET

but at the same time, if dr. murray didn't over prescribe him or felt he did nothing wrong...why he did he flee the scene? he panicked! and he knew why! i'm not saying he purposely killed him, but he obviously did something to michael that his body couldn't take.

and again, about the pills...anyone can get addicted to them. michael is no different than you or i. he had more greedy doctors around him than most people, but the only way you get a prescription drug is thru a doctor. you get to the point where you 'feel' you need this pill/pills. that's exactly how i was. it's like i couldn't sleep without them. so i completely empathize with michael. and i hope the law goes after each and every one of these doctors who made him an addict.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 3:10 pm ET

Lisa S

Michael probably started to have suspicions about Murray, maybe he did that night. Something probably occurred which may explain those 4 needle marks to the neck. They said in the reports Michael had bruises on his knees or legs as if he was kneeling. If the needle marks didnt come from the paramedics which I doubt because they dont put needles into a person that is dead already.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 3:17 pm ET

Lisa,i think, you are litlebit out of the storie.

Thay finde 4 injecktion places on hes nack.Peples think, that dr Murey was shut som drog mix, whenn he finde out the tragedy, and thay finde that drogs in MJ-s body.Thats how he gat drog in hes body.He did this maybe, couse he knew, tha diprivan burn down fast, and he can blame MJ for hes on death, like he was takeing hem self.
And the nurce was a nutritionist, but she never have talk to the chef?Peples think, that she is a lier too.Maybe MJ never called her.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 3:20 pm ET

Well everyone that Michael fired came back in June, this is crazy. I am glad for the nurse and I think Michael did speak to her. I am glad because would have known about the Diprivan.

Belgium   July 31st, 2009 3:28 pm ET

Lisa S,

That's right. MJ had real friends. However, he didn't want to listen to them. When they told his staff not to give him the drugs anymore he got rid of his friends.

I know that the doctors are responsible for prescribing these drugs, but the ultimate resposibility is with the person who takes them.

Also MJ had 3 children he was responsible for. He could have gone in rehab if not for himself than for his children.

Fans are right he was the greatest entertainer in Pop history.

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 3:30 pm ET

well, the needle marks to the neck could also have been the paramedics trying to do something to the airwaves or something. dr. drew explained that on larry king awhile back.

i'll wait to see the results first before making a final judgment...but i do agree with just about everyone, michael jackson did NOT become an addict on his own. these doctors MADE him an addict by convincing him these meds will help them. again, i was on a med for 2 weeks, if i can become addicted to it, anyone can. these type of meds are very strong and you feel like you have to have them.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 3:34 pm ET

I read in one of the tribute Editions that a source says that Michael went into Dr. Murray’s Room and He gave him a shot of Demerol; Michael started having problems breathing and collapsed on the floor. This goes right along with what Latoya said. Remember she said that Michael was on a strict regimen and that whatever Murray gave him sent his body into shock.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 3:34 pm ET

Belgium,i agree wiyh you on that. Its both of tham folt.Thats crasy, that he was gat this every thay.Even 1 time is crasy at home.I dont belive,he was so stupid, that he didnt know, wath is this.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 3:36 pm ET

No, injections are not giving to a person that has been dead for hours

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 3:38 pm ET

but you gotta remember, michael prob. felt he wasn't an addict cuz he's taking pills his doctors are telling him he 'needs'. it's so easy to say, 'he should've known better, he should've gone to rehab, etc.' but when you're being told by doctors you need something and they convince you it's working, you sometimes don't realize you're becoming an addict.

hell, i didn't realize i was an addict until the last day of 2 weeks, i decided this was too much. but all during those two weeks, i made sure to take those meds and felt i needed and couldn't do without them.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 3:39 pm ET

Jacquelyn, did they give a special reason why they won't say anything to the public???

To stop the speculations?

Lori   July 31st, 2009 3:41 pm ET

Dr. Murray's statement thorugh his attorneys is very, very carefully worded... "“Dr. Murray didn’t prescribe or administer anything that should have killed Michael Jackson.”

True dat. Diprivan/propofol is used in every hospital in the country on a daily business and it used successfully for its intended purpose with all the required medical equipment and personnel necessary to administer in safely.

Dr. Murray's problem is that he was in a private residence, with Michael Jackson, and so far no one has revealed anyy evidence that sheds light on the situation.

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 3:43 pm ET

i'm saying, it's possible those needle marks could've been made by the paramedics...i never said that was the ultimate reason. nobody knows how those needle marks got there...dr. drew explained that was a possibility.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 3:43 pm ET

Remember she said that Michael was on a strict regimen and that whatever Murray gave him sent his body into shock.

My God! What have they done to him???

What kind of doctors are they??

Lori   July 31st, 2009 3:44 pm ET

Michael was a dancer – and he didn't hold back. Ever seen a dancers legs? Bruised and marks are to be expected.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 3:46 pm ET

Its not inough, the police was finde diprivan on the flor and in dr Murey wordrob, and many peaples see the oxigen tank.

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 3:50 pm ET

Jacquelyn, Maybe that was why the need to call Cherlyn 2 days before because something happened and by this point, he had no one else to call. He also called a Jackson family member Rowe? and complained around the same time about being taken for that catalogue.
Maybe this doesn't mean anything, but did anyone beside me notice in one of the photos of Murray, he is wearing a yellow tie with little markings? Call me dumb but this appears to be the same tie Michael wore once ot the court hearings and then his brothers wore the same at the Memorial. Looks like an article of Michaels' property. too much of a coincidence I say.
Also, I am really wondering if that pill collection was accumilated over a time by others, to, as someone else said, make it appear Michael was doing all of this. The man could not function at all and would have surely died from wrong combination, if not deteriorate his kidneys, liver, etc. . It's true. You never know who in his group of protectors was using that stuff, selling it to make extra money. It's Beverly Hills for gods sake. Everyone is on something in that town. It's not only just the street addicts anymore.
Whatever will be will be, but it wasn't Michaels time yet. that man through ignorance and neglect, not to mention even greed took a man, father, son, friend and icon from the whole world. No amount of exscuse will ever convince me this was an accident or it was because Michael wanted him to help him. He went beyond his code as a healer and practicioner. He could have called someone, he could have signed Michael to another avenue to get help for sleep, he could have stood up to him and told AEG this isn't good for Michael; all these heavy rehersals. no. I think they are all hooked in together.
Have you all seen the brand new tv advertisement now? "The American Historic Society" is selling 'limited lithogrpahs' of Michael for $19.95 – Limited to 30 printing days. I see someone who 'controls' what gets sold now is generating things for people to buy. this would have to be a part of an agreement recently planned between the Executors of that Will and whoever wanted to make these Lithographs. They never stop! Next we will see Bradford plate series with Michaels pictures through the years. why couldn't they have done this when he was alive to get him out of debt? Makes one wonder sometimes.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 3:51 pm ET

Well that wasnt dancing in the video he did. Plus they said the mark was brand new as if he was in a kneeling position.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 3:53 pm ET

I know its a possibility but remember Dr. Drew said that before it was said that Michael died at an earlier time. A shot is normally done once in the neck then in the heart.

But you know what if it showed Dr. Murray did that, that was an intent to kill.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 3:55 pm ET

No. Just that it was an ongoing investigation.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 3:56 pm ET

To charge Murray they have to prove MJ was addicted cause it's against the law to enable drugs to an addict...

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 3:56 pm ET

jacquelyn, i completely agree...i never said that was the ultimate possibiltiy, i was agreeing with dr. drew. that's it's possible it could've been the paramedics doing that.

my thing on this dr. murray, i don't like the fact he fled the scene. and that they had to look for him for 3 days...i'm not painting him innocent but i wanna wait to hear all the facts before i make a final judgement.

now about the shot to the heart...has this been officially confirmed? i haven't heard this yet...did michael really get a shot in the heart that day?

Luda   July 31st, 2009 4:02 pm ET

I think it's long because when they got to MJ's house on June 25, I'm sure they were convinced it was the classic overdose story... but more it goes more what they discover tell them it's a different story then what they thought....

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 4:02 pm ET

Hi everyone. I just heard, as I have been out running errands all day, that the tox and autopsy will NOT be made public. I figured such... They said earlier in the investigation that they did not need to release. I think this is for the best. The media would have a field day with it. Personally, I don't want to read any more garbage. I love Michael with my heart, mind and soul and there is no way EVER that I would accept that he was an addict. I read a note in the People magazine written by MJ in 1984 indicating that he was lonely and such and writing back to the media for all their crap. This don't surprise me. I remember something along these lines, as I was in high school at the time. This is so sad. I picked up the Jet with Marlon's interview. He did not say much, but he indicated that MJ was in such pain. He was being very respectful.

Anyting else important I missed. Did Murray get arrested yet?? Wishful thinking..

Don't anyone be mad at me but I bought a HUGE framed picture of MJ for my living room. I hope the money goes to the family. That way MJ will be with me FOREVER..

Luda   July 31st, 2009 4:05 pm ET

A shot???

Sorry, I think I missed something here...
He had a shot in the heart???
A rumour or what?

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 4:06 pm ET

I dont like the fact he fled either. He looks guilty right there. Plus who took the money out of Michael's safe?

That's the thing there was nothing about a shot to heart reported. And thats the first thing they do in a cardiac arrest victim.

Now another thing is about the 4 shots to the neck. What if Michael went to sleep there was nothing wrong. And then Murray just injected him with something lethal to the neck thats another possibility. And if Murray left the hospital after seeing the Jackson family how did he get a way with no car? Where did the money and other assets disappear to while Murray was so trying to "care" for" Michael. As well as the surveillance tapes. Lets say Michael did die at 830 in the morning, Murray did not get help until after 12. He had ample amount of time to clear up evidence and create his own scene, unless he had another accomplish upstairs in that house where the workers was banned from.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 4:06 pm ET

Newsflash----Michael Jackson WAS NOT an addict. You know CNN if you report this you are hurting a lot of people. Have a heart think about his kids. This is a private matter.

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 4:12 pm ET

read my post 3:34PM

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 4:13 pm ET

Now I wonder why the Emergency Doctors worked on him for an hour. Could this mean that the Dr. didn't tell the truth when he actually died an hour or so before? Sad, but by all accounts Michael was DOA and deceased on the stretcher when the pic was taken-How grossly rude and inconsiderate!
One of two things about those reports. Either they are hushing it up because some heavy duty stuff is coming down on all of the enablers, or hurtful to say, perhaps there were drugs in his system. Makes no difference, the Dr. was there, giving him stuff that was illegal to do in a home setting. He will still get his. How could it be in Feb. his blood work came back clean, 4 months later all this happens.

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 4:14 pm ET

jacquelyn, now are you sure he did get a shot to the heart? k, i missed this. and i've been following this like everyone else. i just took into consideration that paramedics will sometimes poke holes in someone's neck to get a breathing tube or something like that.

and as someone who was on medications too, i compeletly don't make yourself an addict to these things, the doctors do. i really do feel that these doctors took advantage of a lonely, depressed and trusting person. that's another reason why i can't stand dr. chopra. for someone who's highly smart, doesn't he see what an idiot he looks like? he even said, 'well michael jackson isn't here anymore, i can say whatever i want about him.' wtf! i hope nobody ever gets him as a doctor lol! seriously, he could've just told the authorities on that and not blab it to the whole world.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 4:16 pm ET

I really don’t know what happened that day but there is one thing I’m sure:

Micheal Jackson was a visionary man!

It’ “Thriller night”

And we must find the “Smooth Criminal”

Dirty Diana   July 31st, 2009 4:18 pm ET

It's against the law to enable an addict...MJ had admitted to drug problems in 1993. Once an addict always considered an addict, but it doesn't mean he was still using. Fighting addiction is a lifetime struggle for addicts.

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 4:18 pm ET

whoa...dr. murray took money out of mj's safe? are you sure about this?

Linda from New York   July 31st, 2009 4:18 pm ET

No matter what the media says or do-Michael Jackson will be loved all over the world and we will miss him forever. They will never destroy his legacy because we his fans will see to it. They called him every name in the book while he was alive and now in death they are calling him an addict. When will they just leave him alone.

Lisa S   July 31st, 2009 4:21 pm ET

Jaqueline and Stu:

Im not talking about the four needle stick on Michaels neck (if there ever were any). I m talking about a long time addiction.

Those who say Murray deliberately killed michael needs to explain a bit more becasue I am not convinced. What would he get out of it? He would get more from michael staying alive. But lets asume he wanted to murder Michael. Im sure he would be more careful than being the last person with the victim and Im sure there are many other ways of killing somebody without so much drama.

Michael hired Dr Murray too give him the medical drugs his body needed. Why he needed those medicals is not yet revlieled but we will probably know soon if he was addicted or if it was another illness.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 4:26 pm ET

Lisa S

No Murray if he was smart enough knew he needed Michael more alive. He would not get anything out of it if he wasnt. Now others I am sure wanted Michael dead. Like it was said Michael is worth more dead then alive.

TL Huntington Beach   July 31st, 2009 4:27 pm ET

The post op pain following a nose surgery or face lift could be excruciating. That could have been a time when Diprivan was used as method to get through those first few days if Demerol didn't work.

Michael probably had an assortment of prescription drugs on hand to try out but may have not used them long term. Pain medication could have been used on occasion when a procedure was performed. The alias may have been used for privacy reasons or as Cindy mentioned staff could have used them for their own purposes. Prescription drug industry is a multi-Billion dollar industry therefore many 50 year olds are taking blood pressure, statins, thryoid, and anti-depressant medication. Michael didn't have knowledge of side effects.

I'm speculating when I say the doctor may have told him this is what you need to get to sleep( Diprivan) Michael trusted him. When Michael knew how vital his sleep was for the upcoming shows, He naively accepted the doctors authoritative orders. For the doctor it was easy money.

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 4:28 pm ET

I hope someone is checking on Murrays financials, meaning if he got caught up to date on his payment on his home, for that would clearly indicate he was paid a lot of money in 2 months, not talking about the $150,000 a month. They should check his sister as well, or anyone else who would all of a sudden come up with money to pay off these outstanding bills he has, there you will then find other interesting information.

Toni   July 31st, 2009 4:29 pm ET

Wow, I've missed alot. Sounds like Belgium hasa drug addiction! 4 Vicodan a day. Is that everyday?
Did anyone bother to tell her about Michaels injury's. Let's see... sever burn, broken back, I need to keep going? Is she also aware of what the # 1 med that they say he was addicted too was? Demerol!! If I'm not mistaken, thats for PAIN. So why is it ok for you to take something for your pain {Belgium}, but not Michael? If you just happened to get addicted to Vicodan, do you have people that care about you to help you? Apparently he didnt. Unless you have struggled with someone in your life that had a drug or alcohol problem, then SHUT THE HELL UP!!! I"M so sick of these Holyer than thou people coming on here and calling him all this crap when apparently you don't have any f___ing idea who he was and what he stood for . It's a disgrace to him and his children.

HI EVERYBODY{ that cares for Michael}!!!!!

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 4:31 pm ET

I cant stand Chopra either. He gets on my nerves. But anyway, I never heard about any shot to the heart. I been following this since it first broke.

Now reports and the family said that there are tapes from the surveillance missing as well as money, jewelry and other stuff.

Now I am starting to think somewhere else was there with Murray to get rid of all this stuff, and create a new scene in the home. How did Murray get away without no car?

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 4:32 pm ET

so, is dr. murray's financial accounts frozen? but i agree....since michael publicly stated he had an addiction, then no doctor should be prescribing him anything (unless it's really needed)! also, didn't mike go to treatment for that? so there's documented proof he was addicted in the past right? so, it should be a crime that these doctors kept over prescribing him all these unneccessary medications!

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 4:32 pm ET

Welcome back 🙂

#1mjfan   July 31st, 2009 4:38 pm ET that's a good point, cuz murray's car was towed away. how could he have gotten away so fast without a car? uh oh....this is not looking good.

so, money, jewelry and other stuff from michael was stolen that day?? no way!! i've been following this on cnn, i don't like tmz or any sites like that.

i just don't get why he hid for 3 days? and that the police went to the media saying they were in fact looking for him.

well, i'm not a medical person, but a shot to the heart is very extreme!! and only should be given in a hospital setting. at least i think so. and i agree, dr. chopra is a fake friend. he's someone who after michael died, didn't care about him anymore.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 4:40 pm ET

Not that I heard of. And lets say he have the 2 million dollars(+) on hand. He cant put that in his account because someone will get suspicious.

Yes a person with a prior addiction, you cant really prescribed them drugs like that, especially that of which he was giving. That's where Klein comes in. He was working with Michael ever since the Pepsi commercial, so he knew better.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 4:43 pm ET

A shot to the heart is normally giving by a doctor. If and only if it is necessary. Thats why they normally would use the defribilator first. To shock the heart. I wonder who got that lawyer for him, was it him or AEG, I mean they seem to have their hand in everything else.

Toni   July 31st, 2009 4:49 pm ET

Didnt you hear? Where have you been? The good ole doc was gone for 3 days to seek legal counseling. Thats what Toobin and JVM have told us. Geez, get with the program!!

Dirty Diana   July 31st, 2009 4:57 pm ET

Thank you for printing Matt Semino's article. It is so poignant and rings so true. I loved the part about "Michael being the messenger". It is such an accurate account of Michael and our modern culture. Yes, Michael was "the messenger" but not many wanted to listen. Well, they are listening now......watching him sing "Earth Song" now has such an emotional and spiritual impact.......I loved that article..thank you.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 5:07 pm ET

Now reports and the family said that there are tapes from the surveillance missing as well as money, jewelry and other stuff.

If it's true, that should ring a bell......

Luda   July 31st, 2009 5:14 pm ET

Now others I am sure wanted Michael dead. Like it was said Michael is worth more dead then alive.

So finally, do we know if Michael was paying the good old Dr Murray or it was AEG?

Just wondering.....

Toni   July 31st, 2009 5:15 pm ET

Did you know Michaels pain? Do you honestly know he took 40 pills a day? And I'm glad you have a doctor that cares for you. Does it look like to you that Michael did? We are just stating what we feel has happened to him, because we have watched and admired this man for most of our lives, and listened with open minds to everything he ever said. We are not saying somethings arent true. But what we are saying is that we believe the man we have come to love for the past 50 years was not a trashed out junkie and freak that he is being proclaimed to be. So unless you definately know what the painful side of his life felt like, maybe keep it zipped about him. And by the way, I dont yell, I just try to get my point across.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 5:17 pm ET

AEG, was paying the doctor. Sicne Michael was doing the tours.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 5:32 pm ET

I olso heared in som report, that he had som other skin problem.Hes skin was gating dry,and was brakeing, and he had lot of pain with that. And the publik didnt know that, and he often had to stop practis, couse hes feat was heart bad.So the painkillers was not onli from the time, whenn he burned hem self. The painkillers was for pain, that he still had.

Belgium   July 31st, 2009 5:32 pm ET

Thanks for your comment. Maybe you're right. I sure hope so.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 5:37 pm ET

Hi everyone.

Toni   July 31st, 2009 5:44 pm ET

But the sad truth is that no news media, doctor, friend, coroner or LAPD officer will ever say anything about his pain and why his addiction was so Imminent. He will still only be labeled a drug junkie thats life was not important enough to save because he {like ALL other addicts}fought off everyone that tried to help him, and walk himself into rehab. He needed someone to care to help him, but their lack of caring and greedy hands got in the way.

Toni   July 31st, 2009 5:46 pm ET

I meant to say he Didnt walk himself into rehab.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 5:50 pm ET

The thing I don't understand is that he had so many friends( i.e. Dick Gregory, John Landis, etc) and it seemed like no one could help. Although, I liked the interview last night, I did not feel that she was all that concerned about MJ. I hate to say this, but I think the chef was on their for publicity. Both chefs admitted to seeing strange things happening. Why couldn't they say something to someone? I know there was someone who cared... Because in Dr. Farrakhan's speech someone called Dr. F 7 days prior to MJs death telling him that MJ was in trouble( i.e. he said he'd do 10 concerts but was committed to 50). I would love to know who that person was.. I bet Dr. Farrakhan feels bit a guilt as he did nothing.. He just told that person he would think about it.

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 5:57 pm ET

I think it was Flippo Carr who called him, Louis told him to give him a few days and he will handle it, by that time Michael was gone.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 6:04 pm ET

That is 1 point,Toni, but in the other hand,if he had som disiz, that make hem somuch pain, thann how he could stop the painkillers? He needed for the pain.
I think, somebody was put here a link about a radio interwu with 2 guys, who was work with MJ in the old times, and thay was start to work now with hem again.Som producers, and thay said. And thay said,he had not only 1 helth problem, that was make hem pain.He needed painkillers. But i dont know about diprivan.I think that is from som idiot dr.who told hem,he need, and its dont make demage in hem.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 6:07 pm ET

Really?? But, I always thought that Firpo was JW and not NOI.. But, maybe that doesn't matter. I hope that Firpo went forward with that info.

Lisa S   July 31st, 2009 6:09 pm ET

Adrienne, the sad thing is that I dont think he had many friends. Everybody, apart from Miko that were his so called friends had a profession that connected them. John Landis and Michael didnt have much conntact his last 10 years. They were friends through work.
Even Diana Ross and Elisabeth TAylor didnt see him often.

And he also seems to have had a habit of closing out the people that tried to get close to him. He must have been so loonely at heart. The people he spent most of his days with, apart from the children, were people he paid to be there.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 6:09 pm ET

This is why Firpo needs to be re-interviewed with Geraldo. He knows something..

Jacquelyn   July 31st, 2009 6:12 pm ET

He's not, remember Louis said he have followers, but he is not one of them.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 6:13 pm ET

This is getting sadder and sadder. I want to get the People Commerative Ediition. IT has a letter that MJ wrote into in 1984. It was really sad.. This is so heartbreaking.

I understand about John Landis. But, I read somewhere that he was one of the first people who commented on MJs pale skin color and I am still of the belief of what the plastic surgeon said that Dr. Klein handled it wrong. And I just wonder if that was not the time that MJ was given all that demerol. I read that when John questioned MJ, MJ got upset and did not speak him for 2 years. This really bothered me bc I believe that Dr. Klein and Debbie Rowe were his enablers and this could have al ended a long time ago.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 6:30 pm ET

Stu: he often had to stop practis, couse hes feet was hurt bad

Being an artist myself, I know a lot of dancers and by the time dancers reach 40 they all have several injuries.... they have no choice, they must stop dancing... Michael I'm sure had a lot of injuries with the time... but I also think he's sleeping problems came with touring after years, after years... it’s very difficult to travel in a short time period from a continent to another with time-lags and all that stuff... Comes a time where the body is not fallowing anymore, the system gets unsettled... I would not be surprise that his sleeping problems would come from there, Plus! all the stress of the trials and all the rest... I mean the guy had a hard life.... He was made strong . Most of celebrities died at a young age, usually around 27 or 37 (Jim Morison, James Dean, Michael Hutchence( Inxx), Marilyn..) That Michael Jackson did it until 50... I mean despite what people say : he was made strong.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 6:39 pm ET

Adrienne: The thing I don’t understand is that he had so many friends( i.e. Dick Gregory, John Landis, etc) and it seemed like no one could help.

Dick Gregory said it: he thought it would be paranioa... people would not believe Michael.... and now it's too late!

Sometimes, I think, it's so hard, people just DON'T WANT to see...
and Michael's death was probably a slap in their face....

But it's too late!

Toni   July 31st, 2009 6:50 pm ET

Lisa S
Then that's when all these so called friends eyes should have been opening {the family too}. When someone you love, that you see and hear from often, suddenly starts closing you out and acting strange and completely isolating himself? To me, that should be the time these people { including Miko, although I love him}should start thinking that something isnt right here. I know he moved around alot after the trial, but didnt any of these people think it was strang that he didnt connect with him anymore? And I'm talking about the friends he has had for years. Geraldo has asked this same question.
And I know these people dont want to feed the media, but how long do these terrible people get to completely trash Michael before someone in this inner circleof closest friends steps up and say enough is enough. I'm finding it hard to believe, at this stage of the bashing of Michaels name and legacy, that any of them care. To let it get this far and not say anything to fend off the rumors and vulchers, I find very sad. Sad for Michael. No wonder, after his children and mother, his fans were so important to him.

Toni   July 31st, 2009 6:53 pm ET

I cannot believe the title of this blog! UNBELIEVABLE!! And it apparently came from the LAPD.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 7:45 pm ET

Toni, if you scroll up you will see how we discussed that the LAPD is against MJ.

Adrienne   July 31st, 2009 7:53 pm ET

Toni, did you notice on ET Monique, Monica and one other performer spoke out positively about MJ. Donny Osmond said last night that this is way overboard. I know that Donny and MJ were friends.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 8:26 pm ET

Luda, thats true, wath you say,and thay was talk about more thann 1 problem, but thay speachely was talk about som skin disize, that was dray and brakeing hes skin, and make hem much pain.

Wendy, Ontario, Canada   July 31st, 2009 8:27 pm ET

All this talk of Dr. Murray being to blame is irresponsible until the investigation is complete. If MJ was an addict using fake names & multiple doctors, Murray may not have known what drugs he was taking. If Murray was giving propofol regularly why did MJ ask the nurse on father's day to give him the drug? Things don't add up. Reports that MJ may have been dead before paramedics arrived? Why did it take the hospital over an hour to pronounce him dead? Why was he not DOA? Hospital staff must have thought there was a chance to revive him? All this speculation is unfair. It is clear Jackson was addicted to many drugs as so many were found when Neverland was raided years ago. It's time people accepted the fact that he was responsible for his own death. He knew what he was doing, nothing stopped him. He spent all that money on drugs which should have been there for his kids futures, he spent so much time searching for drugs & being high instead of being there for his kids. Yes it's sad he is gone but in reality he disappeared a long time ago. The MJ people knew & loved is not the man that died that day.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 8:42 pm ET

Toni: No wonder, after his children and mother, his fans were so important to him.

You got it!
It's all he had left : his mother, his children... and us.

Justice please.

Luda   July 31st, 2009 8:50 pm ET

Wendy: If Murray was giving propofol regularly why did MJ ask the nurse on father’s day to give him the drug? Things don’t add up.

Exactly. Like I said in an other comment: It seems the witnesses haven't seen the same things..... contradictions all the time...

What's the truth???

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 8:53 pm ET

But wath abouth the oxigen tank?Did the police finde that at MJ home?

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 8:56 pm ET

Ups!Thay mast finde som track, couse thay investigateing about AMG.

Wendy, Ontario, Canada   July 31st, 2009 8:57 pm ET

AEG said in the beginning of all this that they were going to be paying Dr. Murray. They wanted a cheaper doctor but Michael said he wouldn't do the tour without him so they agreed. It was part of his deal with AEG to have this Doctor with him.

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 8:57 pm ET

Is the nurce thing was not before dr Murey started work for MJ?

Stu,Hungary   July 31st, 2009 8:58 pm ET

Wendy.Thats wath AEG said. But wath is the trouth?

Lynn   July 31st, 2009 9:00 pm ET

Wendy, I know that AEG was paying, but I have thought all along that the level of incompetence showed by Dr. murray was almost like he didn't want MJ to live. I still believe in the conspiracey theory!! I think they need to check any connections with SOny too.

Jennifer   July 31st, 2009 9:10 pm ET

I would like to know...Why would Micheal Jackson call that Nurse the Sunday before he died wanting her to find him Propofol and a Doctor to administer it if Dr Murray, who has been treating him for 2 months, was already allegedly giving Micheal Jackson Propofol???
I have not heard anyone question this. Does not make any sense! Does not sound like Dr Murray was giving it to him, according to these comments. Why would Micheal Jackson be seeking something so desperately that he supposedly already had been getting?????

Valerie W   July 31st, 2009 9:31 pm ET

All this negative talk about Michael Jackson, when are they going to talk about and show the positive thing that Michael Jackson did.

Dirty Diana   July 31st, 2009 9:33 pm ET

The nurse is either lying or Murray wasn't giving Jackson propofol all along......maybe he gave it to him only once – the night he died.

Valerie W   July 31st, 2009 9:37 pm ET

The courts need to leave the kids with Michael Jackson mother, those kids already lost there father! I hope when all is done with the custody case and what happen to Michael Jackson; the media leave the Jackson family at peace.

Valerie W   July 31st, 2009 9:46 pm ET

Dirty Diana

It doesn't matter Dr. Murray was the last one with Michael Jackson and he gave him the propofol............maybe the nurse wasn't lying. So if you watched Larry King show last night when he had Michael Jackson personal chef on; she mention that she saw Dr. Murray bring oxygen tanks down stairs when he was leaving numerous time. But on the morning/evening she didn't see him bring any down. Only God, Michael and the other hopefully honest people that really cared about Michael Jackson knows the real truth.

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 10:13 pm ET

I just thought of something, What happens if it wasn't Michael who called her on Fathers' Day? Was this the call where she heard him in the backround saying his body was hot and cold? I think someone called her for Michael, if it was Michael in the backround. ?
Listening to JVM and her guests(Fripo Carr didn't get a chance again) it seems like they want to spin this drug theory out of control now. Least we know Murray will not be practicing medicene anymore, probably never did much of that anyway after the State Board gets through with him, he will not only lose his license in CA., but for the other States he practiced in as well. Still does not make it right. I do not care what they say. If it was a pill, one thing, but this stuff; where did it come from and why did he choose to do this? this was not safe at all.

Barbara   July 31st, 2009 10:30 pm ET

I love MIchael

Michael was a drug addict made by "guns for hire" drug pusher Dr's over the past 25 years. they took his money, his life and ran.

The laws need to be change to be able to prosecute Dr's like "normal"
people. Dr's make mistakes, are motivated by greed, some are good ones some not good just like any other profession, however, they have a code of silence, they have the AMA, the current laws and peoples lack of knowledge in medicine to protect them.

Agreed Arnie Klein has given a ton of propofol to Michael....he got lucky.....MJ died on Conrad Murrays watch, perhaps planned murder

MaryLee   July 31st, 2009 10:43 pm ET

Maybe not so lucky, if that propofol was a part of Kleins' shipment.

I checked out some of these other addresses that those bottles of RX from pictures on TMZ. 400 N. Canon Dr., looks like some kind of an office building, 9800 Wilshire bl., also looks like an office building-So Michael was 'living' in office buildings now back in 2002, sad when he had Neverland to live at-So someone 'lied' on the RX bottles, name and address. high profile idiots are what these doctors are, complete idiots. then again, wonder which of Michaels' Agents at the time had an office in one of those buildings...Hmmmm?

Antoinette   July 31st, 2009 11:06 pm ET

America? A place that devours its own success stories. MJ was hounded. the District Attorney Thomas Sneddon who chase MJ for 12 years will be punished with all his futer generations. The so calle friends who were at his funeral and never spoke out because they celbrities and did not want to look bad – where were they when people were giving MJ trillion cuts and he was bleeding from every where? May money not remain their Lord. MJ touched every one with his music. Those idiots who call him an addict should remove the cemetaries they have in their own closets instead of looking for the skeletons in others. Some of them belong in the zoo because animals are more cicilized than some.

Wendy, Ontario, Canada   July 31st, 2009 11:26 pm ET

I don't believe in this conspiracy theory at all. Dr, Murray would have made alot of money being MJ's personal doctor for the tour, he won't make a penny now. AEG spent alot getting things ready for a tour that didn't happen, they were left having to pay back ticket holders & all the money they spent on the other dancers etc. for rehearsals is gone. All AEG has left is the rehearsal footage & they've stated 90% of what they sell it for will go to Jackson's estate. Everyone that worked for him is out of a job. All the Doctors that gave him perscriptions have lost a proffitable patient & will possibly face jail time. Anyone that takes multiple drugs for years is bound to overdose at some point. MJ knew the risks & did it anyway.
I saw an interview tonite that was done with a body guard, he said drug use had been going on for a long time & he personally had to carry MJ to bed & monitor him many times because of the amount of meds he had taken. Not a surprise that he has died in this manner, surprising it didn't happen sooner. Dr. Murray had only been his Doctor for a few weeks, to blame him for this is unfair. He was just the guy who was there at the time.

sittingbackabsorbing   July 31st, 2009 11:26 pm ET

Hello, everyone. New to this. Have a few thoughts about this I'd like to share. First, we will not get toxicology reports I believe, until they are done investigating, as it could interfere with the investigation of many (which may be involved). I do believe there are many more than Dr. Murray. Second, I do beieve he may have been addicted and the doctors were feeding into it instead of getting him away from these drugs, Third, I think maybe he was taking "speed" by day to keep up with what he had to do, and could not sleep at night because of it, thus, having to take diprovan or whatever at night. When they release reports to the public, I believe we may see "speed" by day, "barbituates" by night. Fourth, doctors are overprescribing all kinds of medications to all kinds of people everywhere, not just celebrities in CA., and something needs to be done about it. They need to come up with a way to monitor doctors on this. It is too easy for doctors to label kids as ADHD, adults as depressed or anxiety prone, and write out the scripts which turn all of them into addicts.

John@L.A.   July 31st, 2009 11:55 pm ET

I know how this abuse can get out of hand and I am not a celebrity, but in fact went to Beverly Hills Doctors fo a simple carpal tunnel procedure. When I came out of the operation and ready to go home, I was handed a rather large bag of medications. I couldn't believe what I got: Ambien, Xanax, Valium, Codiene/Tylenol3, Lithium, Demerol, and an assortment of medicenes for bi polar disorder. I do not have have bi polar, do not have anxiety, don't know what Litium is for, but all that was needed was antibiotic and pain meds. These were all in the original drug bottles, not a prescriptionn bottle. I found out later that this high price clinic was a drug mill when I made a complaint and turned over the medicenes for investigation. What goes on in these clinics is anybodys' guess. Maybe the enablers are as drugged as they want their patients to get, that way, they would need refills and become addicted.

micky   August 1st, 2009 12:05 am ET

I think you color an accurate picture. However, if murray did administer the diprivan that ultimately is the cause of mj's death, then he is guilty. Doctors must take responsibility for mj coming to this point as well. From my own experience with addiction, people only seek help when they reach rock bottom. Everyone's rock bottom is different. Perhaps mj never reached his rock bottom until now, which of course is sadly, too late.

sittingbackabsorbing   August 1st, 2009 12:19 am ET

The problem is that the "addict" will not tell anyone who the doctor is that is prescribing the medication. That way no one can turn the doctor in for doing it, and they keep getting their prescription drugs. Anyone that screams "back pain" is given a variety of meds. What SHOULD be done is the doctor should only prescribe these meds for so long, then give the patient the option of surgery to FIX the problem instead of "pacify" it, else live with it. I know someone who has been managing to get Perkoset for years now, and is dependent on them, to the tune to many a day for years now. However, doctors do have stock in pharmaceutical companies, thus, they keep writing those scripts. I am sure before long, (if not already) this person I know will have liver damage, or worse, will succumb to death from taking Perkoset, as this person is also diabetic and has already suffered one stroke. 47 years old. They are still writing those scripts. Obviously, the doctors do not care, they just want to continue making money.

Lori   August 1st, 2009 12:20 am ET

There needs to be a different word. When I hear addict I think STREET DRUGS. Maybe we should just say Rx drug dependent.

Abbas   August 1st, 2009 1:01 am ET

Michael Jackson's cardiologist was not board certified in cardiology. His internal Medicine board was expired in 2008. Check out American Board of Internal medicine web site. Board Certified physicians makes the difference !!!

simba   August 1st, 2009 1:20 am ET

Belgium, if you're taking four Vicodin every day, for years, you're an addict. Please get help.

No one ever mentions that MJ had lupus, which is painful and requires medication. And MJ still suffered from the burns on his scalp and the attempts to reconstruct it.

I don't believe MJ was an addict. It's a lazy quick way to consign him to the garbage heap of those we need not care about. He was a patient with a pain management problem and chronic insomnia, and instead of helping him, his high-priced doctors used him like an ATM.

On Dateline tonight, the investigative reporter interviewing Cherilyn Lee listened to her re-tell her story of turning down MJ when he asked for Diprivan. Then he accused HER of giving it to MJ, saying that NBC has sources that said she had! She denied it. But what if it's true?

Pam   August 1st, 2009 1:24 am ET

Thats right Abbas, he is not Board Certified. He only has about 40 hours of patient care with the State of Califonia. If you read his info in the mecial board sites', you will see he is more of a buinessman than an actual Doctor. I guess he isn't such a good Cardiologist if he is so deep in debt. Between Houston and Las Vegas, you think he'd be reelin it in by the truckload! I heard his office in Houston was another pill despensing office. Wonder why they were keeping used needles in a bio-hazzard container in storage? That is not how to do those things. Those 2 gals who worke(d) for him don't look very professional at all and their manner of speech doesn't cut it for a professional office manager. This is a dead give away something isn't kosher with this guy.

Mary Lee   August 1st, 2009 1:43 am ET

Checked out the site Abbas. So this means Dr. Murray could not even give an antibiotic let alone something as dangerous as diprivan. So why hasn't someone picked up this sob? Oh, does this mean now since Murray was in the employ of AEG, the Jackson Family can now sue them as well as Dr. Murray? they did not check out his credentials.
Let's see, he slap happy injected this drug into Michael, he makes all kinds of excuses, he runs off, gets Raided 2 times, admits giving this stuff to Jackson. At least his license is forever gone, his life will come next. He is a loser and a high paid enabler.

John   August 1st, 2009 2:34 am ET

Why hasn't anybody from law Inforcement picked up this so called Doctor. HE DOES NOT HAVE A LICENSE TO ADMINISTER ANY DRUG! NO LICENSE IS AS SAME AS DRUG PUSHER!
I see a statement that says neither AEG nor Jackson paid this dcotor for 2 months. Was this done in desperation? payback?
Larry King, Find those answers. do research. Do something! This was willfull negligence!
What do we have to do, go and put a citizens arrest on him to get him in jail? Thats where he belongs. Rotter!

micky   August 1st, 2009 4:07 am ET

Hold on John-
Maybe there is no proof that Murray gave any drugs to MJ????Otherwise, why wouldn't he be arrested? They need the toxicology report.

Kat Larstone   August 1st, 2009 4:50 am ET

Everybody keeps forgetting that Michael had Lupus.. go look up what it does to a persons organs and skin. I have lost two people in my family to lupus. It is a particularily nasty disease to say the least.
The meds used to treat it have equally harmful effects on the body.

Lisa S   August 1st, 2009 7:20 am ET

Toni July 31st, 2009 6:50 pm ET :

But the didnt 🙁

I dont know if oyu guys know any addicts or depressed people? They can be very agressive and stubborn in their way to block people out. We are only humans and after enough tires people give up. We cannot blame them only try to under stand how human nature functions.

If you have enough money you can hire the professionals that say what you want to hear.

He wouldnt have kept any of you guys as friends becasue you would never give up on him. He would have cut you out of his life and turned to Miko and children or animals that didnt ask anything from him. I heard in LKL that Miko never seen or heard about any drugs ever. When Michael clearly in interviews already back in 1995 stated that he had been to reatments for his addiction to painkillers and other medical drugs.

We all have friends like that and they are not bad friends as they serve thair purpose. But in order to develope as persons we also need people who says "hey, stop, what is this?" "why didnt you turn up as decided?" "you look terrible" Sometimes we need to hear "you are so nice" and "you look good" but it is really challenges that make us grow.

mariau   August 1st, 2009 7:41 am ET

i agree, if you are an addict as in "Drug Addict" you will die younger than 50....
remember guys.. Michael took drugs... because of his ailments, a prescription drugs, and medication drugs..

about the diprivan, in my intuition.. His "Evil doctors" intruduced that drugs as an exchange for xanax.. a sleeping pills..

the blamed here not for Michael.. but for his GREEDY DOCTORS..

Stu,Hungary   August 1st, 2009 8:01 am ET

I think, maybe the nurce dont lie.She said, she chaked MJ bload, and helth sistem, and she finde nothing. This could be just 1 time, and not at MJs-home.She said,he was helthy.Thge chef said too, that he was helthy. If dr Murey was careing every morning oxigen tank, thats meen,he give every day proponol to MJ,or the chef lieing.Or an other possibility, that MJ gat tha proponol from an other dr,but dr Murey was giw in to MJ.

Stu,Hungary   August 1st, 2009 8:23 am ET

Lisa,i very agree with you with thais.Depression is turning peaples out of tham mynde, thay cant think clearly. And if MJ had dipression, and lot of pain, thats dangeros. And the money to gat wath he whant. Here only good dr-s could help,or not even tham, couse he jus fired tham.

Lisa S   August 1st, 2009 9:07 am ET

Yes, we can only stretch out a hand to help...we cant for anybody to take the hand.

We got 50 years of Michael Jackson and he used the years well. Now it is up to us to continue the work to make the world a better place. And be nice to each other. Calling the mother of michaels children "rent-a-vomb" is not contributing to making the world a better world.

Be nice to people, that is the least everybody can do!

mariau   August 1st, 2009 9:50 am ET

Lisa S, well said.. i agree with you..

Lisa S   August 1st, 2009 12:07 pm ET

Thanks 🙂 I just feel that sometimes the level of respect in here is not as high as it should be. Of course we can discuss and disagree but she should not call people names of be rude. Becasue all though we feel like we know michael and the people around him, we dont know them, we dont know which facts are right or wrong, we dont know their background and until convicted, we must not judge anybody. No matter if other people judged Michael.

Michael never ever spoke bad about anybody (apart fromTommy Mottola, but he still didnt make fun of him). He was always nice all though jealous artists interrupt his preformances (brittish awad for example) made horrible musical video about him (Eminem and Cory Feldman for example) that is what we should remember and learn from.

John   August 1st, 2009 12:14 pm ET

Hold On Micky,
When the Doctor admits to law enforcement and to the Dr's in the ER and also to his own Attorney, that he did in fact give Michael an injection of Proponol and has done this several times in the past, what is that called? Happy Hour? Since he is a doctor with no License for Internal Medicene(operative words here) he CANNOT dispense! Obvious he didn't have the right set up in the bedroom WHICH HE SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD ANYWAY!, What the heck was this man thinking? Nobody would find out? Yes, I think he thought that, but SURPRISE!
Bottom line, the cops did not mess up, they had no clue at first what they were dealing with, neither did the paramedics. how would they know what the IV was for? They didn't know it was Michael. this is why the home wasn't secured. There was only a call for 911 and unfortunately a death. Once the blood test from the ER came back, that's when LAPD went for a search warrant. Too bad they didn't swoop down on all these offices at once like in the good old days of J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI. They might be getting into it next if they haven't already.

mariau   August 1st, 2009 12:19 pm ET

lisa s,
i know.. mj very sweet spoken.. and avoid using bad words to others..
but, in some people, they are not the same as MJ, they can't control their emotions. in some cases.. it's too difficult to control.. when the situation was provoking you... i agree with you Lisa S..

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

With the mask finally removed, her tearful goodbye humanized him in the eyes of millions of adoring fans and even skeptical detractors across the globe. Paris Jackson was the poignant conclusion to her father Michael’s celebrated memorial service. At the same time, her few words served as a painful reminder of the conflicted legacy that, as some proclaim, the greatest entertainer of all time leaves behind in the wake of his sudden, tragic and mysterious death. In Michael Jackson’s passing, this international icon casts as many if not more unanswered questions about the out of the ordinary life he led behind the curtain of his private stage.

Intense speculation over the star’s actual cause of death has ranged from an accidental overdose to explosive allegations from some family members of foul play and even murder. In the later stages of his life, Jackson was caught in a downward spiral of prescription drug abuse fostered through a tangled web of star-struck enablers and unscrupulous members of the medical establishment. As in his life, Michael Jackson was engulfed by complex legal and ethical dilemmas even at the precise moment of his death. Questions concerning the custody of Jackson’s three children, whether those children are connected to him biologically, control over and division of his complex estate, burial procedures and a final resting place for the star’s remains, use of Los Angeles public funding for a celebrity laden memorial service at the Staples Center and countless more controversial issues moved in swiftly like an ominous and heavy fog in the days and weeks following June 25th.
Upon his death, the Pandora’s box that is Michael Jackson’s secretive but highly scrutinized life burst open once again and the media as well as the public’s insatiable appetite for all of the juicy details immediately became palpable. The daily headlines read like vivid medical records. ‘Michael Jackson’s Autopsy Photo,’ ‘Michael Jackson’s Hair on Fire,’ ‘Michael Jackson’s Leg Wounds and Needle Marks,’ and ‘Michael Jackson was Sterile’ are just a few. Only the most imaginative fiction writer could create a story with such high drama and sordid twists and turns. Even with all of its tabloid entertainment value, it is a monumental disservice to Michael Jackson’s memory that a thoughtful analysis of his significant cultural contributions, particularly in the realm of human rights and social justice, are being obscured in the process of examining his death and now his corpse.
Through his prolific body of work, advocacy initiatives and multi-million dollar charity efforts, Michael Jackson raised international awareness and support for some of the most complex and timeless issues confronting the human condition. AIDS, cancer, famine, homelessness, gang violence, racism, totalitarianism, environmental degradation, child abuse, violations of animal rights, restrictions on freedom of speech and other infringements upon basic civil liberties are just some of the difficult subjects Jackson tackled by leveraging the power of his celebrity. Michael Jackson’s intuitive understanding of the problems besetting the human ecological system was uncanny and uncharacteristic for any entertainer close to his magnitude.
Many have been so dazzled by Jackson’s masterful showmanship and the consistent controversy surrounding his life and death that it would be easy not to recognize the overarching social and political themes embodied in his music, videos and public interviews. The intense emotional pull, messages and raw feelings that reverberate through the lyrics and sometimes disturbing video imagery of songs such as “They Don’t Care About Us,” “Heal the World,” “Earth Song,” and “Man in the Mirror” are gut-wrenching. A deeper analysis of Michael Jackson’s work reveals an individual with a burning concern for improving the lives of the disadvantaged and persecuted around the world. The passion and verve with which Jackson digs his hands into the soil and grasps the trees in his video for “Earth Song,” an operatic piece where he addresses environment and animal welfare, is a reflection of a leader of humanity who cares deeply about the issues he is challenging.
Global events in the weeks surrounding Jackson’s death alone directly mirror the complex problems for which he attempted to raise international awareness. In Iran and before the world’s eyes, civilian demonstrations were squashed and innocent victims like the young Neda Agha-Soltan brutally murdered by instruments of a totalitarian state. In Washington, D.C., a white supremacist motivated by pure hate attempted a killing spree at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, murdering an African American security guard in his rampage. In North Korea, U.S. journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee were unjustly sentenced to twelve years of hard labor to merely serve as international bargaining chips for an evil dictator. Michael Jackson spoke out loudly against these forms of racism and repression and attempted to ignite our passion to prevent the continuance of such abuse, neglect and discrimination. How are we now missing this message when it is even more crucial for it to be absorbed into the public mind? Not only do Michael Jackson’s cries of awakening continue to be ignored but his reputation continues to be smeared.
With the current fixation on the gruesome details surrounding Jackson’s physical demise, we have lost focus on the social relevance of Michael Jackson in our cultural timeline. Jackson’s symbol has the power to force what might be a difficult and uncomfortable period of public self-reflection. What progress has been made on the global humanitarian and civil rights issues that Jackson brought to light for the masses? What realistically still needs to be accomplished in each of these realms to actually make future progress? These are the crucial questions that need to be contemplated in the context of Michael Jackson’s death.
Many may ask why this controversial figure, a man who has been the subject of intense criticism and public backlash, should be given such gravity in framing public discourse over the day’s most important topics. Sometimes it takes one person, not just a political or spiritual leader, who stands out symbolically from the rest of society, to make that society reflect on the principles that it follows and the values it embraces. Jackson, throughout his life and in his death, has been ridiculed and revered, vilified and vaunted. Shouldn’t we then embrace and support people who are destined for this life mission instead of deriding them? As history progresses and Jackson’s symbol and work are analyzed in conjunction with the unfolding of human events, the important cultural relevance of his persona will be uncovered. Like a piece of classic Greek literature that embodies timeless themes of human striving and suffering, Michael Jackson’s canon and celebrity will come to hold a similar place in the modern day cultural pantheon. Why then was it necessary to shoot the messenger?
Martin Bashir’s highly controversial 2003 TV documentary, ‘Living with Michael Jackson’ is just one of the many examples of the ways in which Jackson was unfairly portrayed in the media. The documentary was a PR nightmare for the star. Bashir’s video interviews and commentary were cleverly edited as to purposely paint Jackson as a megalomaniac child molester. The film focused, in a highly negative manner, on the abuse Jackson suffered as a child at the hands of his father, the rumors behind his drastic physical transformation, his intense friendships with young boys, the nature of his past romantic relationships and questions concerning the genetic lineage of his children, among other sensitive topics. Bashir conveniently cut out footage that presented a countervailing impression of Jackson. Bashir’s documentary and Michael Jackson’s subsequent rebuttal, in the form of a TV special hosted by Maury Povich, provide a candid, never before seen glimpse into what made this man tick. In many respects, Michael Jackson was a lonely soul who found the greatest comfort isolated behind the gates of his Neverland ranch and in the company of animals, children, carnival rides and opulent possessions. In the last years of his life, Jackson became reclusive to the point that he was unable to function even within celebrity society due to the immensity of his fame and the parasitic attention drawn by even the briefest public appearance. Examining these interviews, it becomes clear that Michael Jackson is one of the most misunderstood figures in modern day popular culture.
The incessant media backlash against Michael Jackson throughout his career and now in his death is driven by the fact that Jackson, as a symbolic figure, forces us to look in the mirror and face the difficult and sometimes intractable problems of our society and in ourselves that we may not want to acknowledge. How dare he? Jackson brilliantly shines light on civilization’s accomplishments and failures in their most extreme forms. To be repulsed by the drastic transformation of his face was to simultaneously recognize the excessiveness of a beauty obsessed culture that allows money to change even the most fundamental components of our DNA. When looking and commenting on his mask, weren’t we also secretly acknowledging both the literal and figurative masks that we sometimes hide behind? Ironically, Michael Jackson’s physical changes led him to be branded as an “oddity” or “freak” by a media culture that promotes physical perfection through any means necessary. As Jackson proclaimed during his interviews with Bashir, “Plastic surgery was not invented for Michael Jackson!”
The child molestation charges brought against Jackson first in 1993 and again in 2005, for which he was skewered and roasted by the media and public, were baseless extortion attempts fueled by the petty greed and jealousy of his accusers. Despite settling the 1993 case and being acquitted of the 2005 charges, Michael Jackson’s commercial appeal and public image were severely damaged by the allegations. The child molestation charges against Jackson represented a modern day witch hunt in its most base form. Unfortunately for Jackson, the hunt was not localized to Salem but played out globally through the aid of modern media technology. The molestation charges were fueled by likely feelings of inadequacy in the parents of the alleged child victims who were so enamored by Jackson. Perhaps these parents did not believe that they could compete with the love and material fantasy that Michael Jackson provided to their children which caused them to lash out in desperation. Jealousy combined with greed is highly combustible. The media’s depiction of Michael Jackson as a plastic surgery obsessed eccentric made him an easy target and an unsympathetic victim. It just wasn’t believable that someone that acted and looked like him could be kind, sensitive, compassionate and loving. What was the motivation behind it all? What was wrong with him? There had to be something askew. What if Michael Jackson’s motivation was simply to give hope to those less fortunate? Was all of this then just the senseless destruction of a human being to satisfy our insecurities and quell our fears of the unknown and misunderstood.
As we reflect upon Michael Jackson’s life and now death, it is difficult not to feel sad for the man and view him in a tragic light. With all of his power, wealth and fame, he now lies before us like a bird crushed after being pelted repeatedly by outsized stones. Dejected, Jackson continued to turn inward, fearful of what the world he cared so deeply about changing for the better was throwing at him. The drugs just served as an opiate to the pain of an artist and humanitarian that was overburdened by a mission that he didn’t believe he accomplished. Addicted, it was the greed of those surrounding Michael Jackson who continued to indulge his desires out of self-preservation. The numbness of the painkillers relieved the ache caused by knowing that despite what he sought to give and change in the society around him, the burden of his creations and the scathing critique it engendered had become too overwhelming for one person to sustain. Michael Jackson was a modern Sisyphus, the loin clothed man condemned to repeatedly pushing a rock up a mountain only to see it roll back down. Sadly though, our Sisyphus collapsed under the weight of his struggle.
Michael Jackson was inflated to the position of a pop deity, a mythical figure, only to be crucified and stoned by the media gods who created his success. His bold eccentricities lied outside of the norm of standard, socially acceptable behavior but were they necessarily illegal or wrong? No. Most of Michael Jackson’s actions were unconventional yet, at the same time, wasn’t the grandeur of his celebrity and global status beyond anything that modern day culture has ever witnessed? His grandeur, his eccentricity, each influenced and exaggerated the other.
It is undeniable that Michael Jackson’s immense celebrity and wealth allowed him to remove himself from mainstream society and observe the world from a privileged vantage point. Sometimes though, it takes that fortunate but isolated position to be able to make the least polluted social observations and ultimately produce the most effective societal commentary through art. Throughout history, the work and lives of multiple artists have been ridiculed and scorned by the public during their heyday, only to be placed posthumously into the canon of the Greats. It is without doubt that Michael Jackson will, in due course, garner this same level of critical acclaim as an artist and most importantly, as a humanitarian.

We first had reports of this Doctor giving a hot of Demerol. I wonder if he actually meant Dilaudid. Anyone ever have it? 2 drops and your body feels like its dying on the gurney, body goes stiff, throat starts to close up. had it once and once was enough. Nurse said oh 2 drops couldn't hurt you as she flushed it out of my arm.
Wish I was on Michaels payroll. I have the perfect solution to his sleep deprivation-He should have gone home. He should have gone to his mothers home, his home. He would have been comfortable there. Just get the other people out of there. He would have been so much better off.

TL/Huntington Beach   August 1st, 2009 4:46 pm ET

It all seems very suspicious. The timing. He was getting ready to go to London. Did Dr, Murray want to go to London? Was he insured if by chance Michael died? Did Dr. Murray have a pychotic break? Was he envious of Michael? No one knows what Dr. Murray was thinking. The nurse may be only telling a partial truth. It's all very difficult to prove. Michael isn't here to defend himself.

Tina   August 1st, 2009 5:45 pm ET

I have been following the broadcasts on MJ everyday since he was KILLED. They need not worry about drug problems, qtit calling him names and get off their backsides and do their job. I have said MJ was killed from day one, and I honestly believe he was dead hours before the doctor said anything. Conrad Murray probably knew there was no bringing MJ back. What did he care he had time to steal those security tapes and anything else he could get his hands on. Moneys money to a greedy ....... like him. The cops should have done the raids sooner. now evidence is gone and so is Michael. He loved his babys so much and I don't believe he wanted to die. He wanted to raise his babys and forget the drama people caused him. They need to take Conrad Murrays license, home buissness practices and make him live in poverty for what he's done. You become an addict from immunity to something you take on a regular basis. MJ should have been helped not killed and not talked bad upon.

If MJ had gone home to his mother's house and left the "entourage" behind, he's still be with us today.

TL, I think you are right about the Dr. having some animosity towards Michael. 2 men, almost the same age, 1 has to fight his way to become a Doctor, the other was born with 'the Gift'. The Dr. saw the luxury of it all and wanted in, thats why he at first wanted 1 million dollars a month to care for Michael, then accepted $150,000 a month, now, it seems the Dr. never was paid for 2 months and Michael winds up dead. Murray also knows 'secrets' and thats why his fee was so high.

I looked up Propofol. It actually has a half life of 1/2 to 1 hour after you stop it after a short procedure, BUT it can in fact stay in the body as a 1/2 life anywhere from 2 hours to 24 hours the longer it was used in a body. The good news in Propofol is excreated through the Kidneys, meaning if it was used and we all heard it was, it will show up in the Autopsy and in Toxicology report. Don't believe everything you hear on TV, this is from a medical journal.

Luda   August 1st, 2009 10:43 pm ET

John@L.A., Lithium is for bi polar. I have a friend who is bi polar and it's the drug he must take. He takes just that drug nothing else...

Tanks for your testimony, it gives us a good inner sight of what is going on in those clinics... it tells a lot...

Jennifer , the nurse said that Michael called at the end of April to ask for propofol, the Sunday before he died he did not ask for propofol... he called her because he was not feeling well, from what he was telling her she said it was very serious, so much he should go to the hospital ... curiously, Klein said on Monday MJ was well, he was dancing in the office...

Why did he call the nurse Sunday if he had a doctor home all the time...

s. phillips   August 2nd, 2009 12:52 am ET

I am upset that the officials are blaming the victim(MJ) instead of the Dr. This insinuates that everyone with insomnia or a chronic pain disorder would be a drug addict. Dr. Lee stated, "MJ had very small veins, which would account for the numerous injection sites. For all we know Dr. Murray was injecting him in the legs and feet. If MJ was an addict why were there pills left in the bottles of prescriptions that the police found? Wouldn't an addict have taken them all? Was he just trying to find a way to sleep? It is hard for me to believe the Dr. was with MJ every night for two months and did not notice MJ had a drug dependency! Dr. Murray had to know that when someone is sedated with a drug like propofol there is no REM sleep. There is only the illusion of rest. This drug is clearly not used for insomnia. I do not feel Dr. Murray is an aboveboard guy. Just because propofol is not an illegal substance, that should not be a defense. Nor should the fact that other Dr.'s had given it before. From the beginning Dr. Murray has not told the truth! Lets examine what we know. Dr. Murray's lawyer announced that Murray did not give MJ anything that should have killed him. He did not say that he did not give him something. A doctor that did not know how to give CPR properly. Waiting to call for paramedics. The chef stated he was panicked. Oh my gosh, he is a Dr. they are trained to deal with life and death emergencies. Then he calls upon a 12 year old boy to come and help him. WOW! How horrible for those children to witness. I think Dr. Murray thought of himself way to highly. He played GOD and this time he lost, and so did Michael. He sold his soul for the almighty $. Dr. Murray was portrayed as a charismatic fellow. I THINK MICHAEL WAS HIT BY A SMOOTH CRIMINAL. Thank You Larry for your upfront unbiased reporting. Your honesty is refreshing!

I am wondering if this has something to do with AEG, maybe L.A. is being careful because AEG generates a lot of money for that city by way of Staples Center. AEG is going to generate even more when they have the Hotels, restaurants, etc. is all built up around Staples, that will develop a lot of jobs in Los Angeles and bring Tourism in.

That phone call now sounds fishy to me. Not on Cheryln Lee's part, but on the part of whoever had called her for Michael. All she heard was supposedly his voice in the backround, right? Could have been anyone in that house setting something up.

John@LA   August 2nd, 2009 2:17 am ET

Luda-this is what i mean, I went in for a carpal tunnel surgery, nothing else is wrong with me, why they would give Lithium plus a lot of other drugs for anxiety and bi polar was strange to me, do not need those drugs.
Too many clinics are too willing to hand out drugs, especially if it invloves insurance or workers comp. It is out of hand, this is why we have so many problems with health care, they charge too high. When you are charged $50- for an asipirin in a hospital, there is something very wrong.

Toni   August 2nd, 2009 2:38 am ET

Tammy O'Riley   August 2nd, 2009 2:45 am ET

Larry, please, if anyone can find out and you might be the one that can. I heard for only one day that Michael Jackson had LUPUS then there was no more mention of it. Why? If Michael Jackson had lupus, that would explain alot. One type is about the skin(which explains the unbrella) SLE LUPUS, which is more serious. It can affect the whole body, including the HEART, LUNGS, KIDNEY, JOINTS, AND NERVOUS SYSTEM. If he had this that would explain everything about him. for example, durring his second trial he wore p.j.s and couldn't walk well. The stress he was under caused more pain than usual. My daughter did alot of research on lupus, your not suppose to be under any stress with lupus. Please help keep his name clean and get to the bottom of this. If this has any truth to it , I don't understand why any doctor should get in trouble for helping somebody in his situation. If it has any truth to it, that would explain the horrible pain he was in.

Amanda $ -IL   August 2nd, 2009 9:46 am ET

OMG.. Seriously? How many times is the MEDIA going to call M.J a drug addict???? I have Vitiligo, Asthma, Thyroid disease and I have a very rare type, I can develop Lupus, Diabetes, Sickle Cell or whatever thats called and I also have Calcium Deficiency. When someone has alot of medical problems they are ALWAYS being told which medicines will help this or help that, I HATE taking pills but I HAVE TO. I swear, people think it is so easy to be healthy but not if you end up getting something that runs in ur family or in earlier generations. I know what its like to be put on different kind of medication and it SUCKS but sometimes I gotta do it. With all that rehearsing that M.J was doing he was probably in alot of pain physically and I see why he was on certain meds, but u cant blame someone for possibly becoming an addict to perscription drugs if theyve had to be on them for many many yrs. Ive been on meds on and off since i was 12 yrs old, I'm not addicted though. I have self control, some people tend to take the easy way out and I mean that in the nicest way possible.

I use to LOVE watching the news but now it seems like their one of those people who u put all ur trust into then they end up letting u down or betraying u with the exploitation of certain things. Ugh.

I have been doing alot of thinking and not blogging cuz it has been too hot to sit a computer lately; however, I did want to make one theory among many which some of my theories seem to be panning out, is in regards to the oxygen tanks. I am wondering if someone forgot to fill up the oxygen tanks and when Dr. Murray went to use one, there was nothing in them? Perhaps that is why he panicked and tried himself probably to get MJ back. Were the tanks that he was using full enough? Obviously he had been using them probably on a daily basis...did someone forget to fill them?

It seems to me that because of Michael's schedule he started back on the diprivan because he could not sleep after rehearsals; that is why back in April he was asking that nurse/nutrionist to find him some because he had already started to practicing and was not getting any sleep. He made his announcement in March....probably started actually practising in April and that is when it all started with the usage of the diprivan. That is why he said in one of his interviews that he hated touring because he knew he was risking his life trying to stay committed to his tours and even the grueling schedule of going to practice and then performing in the evenings. That is another reason why he stayed in London and was letting the fans come to him, rather than him going to the fans.

Michael knew that his body could only take so much.

Mary Lee   August 2nd, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Lisa , I thought of that too especially when someone said 'personal' oxygen tanks. Those would be smaller, not like you'd see at a hospital.. I also thought about the IV bag running out.
I looked up about various drugs that could be injected into the neck area and only3 plausable ones came up. Steriod use..., Cortisone shots for pain...could be, or the worse...Demerol. It does matter who would give a shot in the neck, too risky for an individual to do it, has to be administered by a Docotr or Nurse.

There was a post on here earlier, but gone now. Said something about Dr. Klein being at Michaels house 2 days before as reported, was that the same day someone called Cheryl for Michael saying he was hot and cold. Michael did not call her, Someone in that house called her and she said she heard Michael in the backround or it could have been Michael, could have been someone else, setting something up or someone else up.. that post was interesting since Dr. Hoefflin has pointed a finger at Klein. Hoefflin is a highly respected Surgeon and Klein is not. I bet it is going to show the Diprivan came from Klein's or perhaps even Debbie. They use it in Vetenary Clinics as well.

TL/Huntington Beach   August 2nd, 2009 3:32 pm ET

Anyone that could endure the rigors of the grueling rehearsals prior to the upcoming shows had to be in optimal physical conditon. The proof in the rehersal videos. I don't believe Michael was sickly. There were times when he needed to recover from painful surgery or back pain but he obviously he thought he was feeling good and excited for the up coming performances.

Ive been looking at the concert dates. Initially 10 dates sold. day after they decided to sell another 12. They looked too close together, one day on/one off. The details of the other 28 are sketchy but you wonder if MJ really did agree to them. They sold 750.000 tickets altogether. Too many. Wish they'd kept it to ten.

Jacquelyn   August 2nd, 2009 9:51 pm ET

What you are saying is so true. I had a doctor that would write me anything. Then told me I can fix the milligrams however I see fit. I found that unprofessional. I had to let him go. Plus he was the type of doctor that if you sent a child to ask for some medication he would give it. I am not a smoker of any kind. But when I hear them talking about marijuana and how bad it is for you, I laugh because what they give to the people nowadays is way more lethal and hurful.

Lois   August 2nd, 2009 11:26 pm ET

I wish they had kept it to ten too. You know AEG is saying Michael said this and Michael said that, but Michael is not here to back it up, and they are putting the onus on Michael. Did Michael really say those things???

It had been a long time since his last tour 12 years ago. Mentally, he may have been prepared, but I don't think physically he was ready for them yet. He had already pushed the dates back. Given more time, I think he would have been ready. Don't forget he was 50 years....not 38 anymore, I think AEG just pressured him into things he thought he could do, but physically I think it was just too demanding for him to prepare 5 months prior to the opening.

Mary Lee   August 3rd, 2009 12:19 am ET

I was reading about Dr. Klein and can see what he might have given Michael in the days following his death. I read up about Botox shots and that is very deadly as well. In the nose area it can freeze up and block th nasal passages, it is also used in the neck area to tighten the line there.
Debbie was running to that office for somethng the other day, thats true. Wasn't for any procedure. she had to have gone to see Dr. Klein, she is running scared becaue of the mews about her giving Demerol to Michael. what happens if she is the one who 'borrowed' the Diprivan as a loving gesture and a promise of money.
Sure AEG pressured Michael. They hunted him for years and when they got him in the scope and he said no way, not doing 50 concerts, something happened. See how AEG listed expenses paid to Dr. Murray were listed as production costs. There's a lie right there. Also heard Miko was Michaels' top body Guard. so what happened? Why would Michael sleep in the Dr's room? I bet he had a lock on his door...Some of these stories are too out there!

pam   August 3rd, 2009 12:56 am ET

there are alot of unanswered questions surrounding michael's death.but i do think dr murray is to blame for this. he could have told michael no and found something else to give him. not something as dangeruos as that stuff was. there are alot of other things he could have tried. i have to say if murray gets charged with michael's death and goes to prison he will probably be done. cause michael had alot of people from the prison honoring him for his memorial when they made those videos for him. those prison guys won't let murray get away with this. they will probably have to put him in a cell by himself. he will be marked. murray wasted to much time cause he panicked. or he just didn't keep and eye on michael during the night like he should have.either way he is to blame.

MIMI   August 3rd, 2009 4:39 am ET

Few days after micheals death, Latoya said in her interview that she knew and miacheal told her some people were out to get him cos of his Beatles catalogue. She went further to say she felt micheal wouldnt make it to those concerts alive! Latoya also said that her family made attempts to see micheal and get him help.

My feeling and response to what latoya said is this:

If she knew Micheal was in ANY kind of danger, why didnt she/ her family go make a statement to the police?

YES the jackson family including joe said they were shut out by micheals security, whether it was MJ that gave the orders or someone else, i dont know. The jackson family knew that Micheal had an addiction to med., knew that some bad inner circle people want to kill or control micheal with medications... WHY DID THEY NOT GO TO THE POLICE WHEN THEY WERE SHUT OUT???

Personally, if MJ were my brother and i notice some people are preventing my family from getting help to him, i will go report to the police IN CASE ANYTHING HAPPENS SO THEY SAY I MADE AN EALIER STATEMENT..

To me, Mj's family have questions to answer cos they would have prevented this long b4 2009. After 2005 trials, they would have made sure micheal go to rehab.. But the question is knowing that he has this addiction problem, why didnt micheal go for rehab b4 embarking on this tour??? why did MJ have to put himself tru stress when he knew he is supposed to get himself fit by rehab b4 signing any contract with AEG???

As a matter of fact, AEG knew micheal had all these medical , insomnia probs but STILL went ahead to sign him on for the showss.... why??? cos they dont care.. simple!!! they dont care about him, his life , health... all they care about is the MONEY he will make them!!!!

Micheal and his WHOLE family had a get together in MAY. Why didnt they sit down with him afterwards and discuss their concerns??? Look, if i were one of them, having these suspicions about prescritive medications, I WILL MOVE INTO THAT HOUSE WITH MICHEAL TO MONITOR HIM AND WHAT GOES ON THERE SIMPLE!!! If they had done this, they would have found out this quack doc gives Mj IV of propofol at night , raised the alarm and stopped the insanity!!!

Another thing is... if Micheal had gone to rehab and got healthy, he wouldnt need those meds given to him by so called enablers.... and he would have been here with us and his family. I hope that someday, the jackson family will address these issues i just laid out cos i have been thinking about about this situation from the family point of view... in the end, they are the ones that could have stopped this tragedy.

Dr. Conrad Murray – Michael Jackson Doctor and the Godfather of Soul James Brown
By Graeme Massie
Aug 3, 2009

Michael Jackson's doctor (Dr. Conrad Murray) was also the physician to the late Godfather of Soul James Brown, according to reports. Dr. Conrad Murray is at the heart of the probe into the June death of the King of Pop from cardiac arrest. Murray is allegedly among a group of 'feel good' physicians to work for high-profile celebrities in the 1990s, the New York Post claims.

"James Brown and Michael Jackson were inseparable and they used the same 'safe doctors' – doctors who would get them anything they wanted," Brown's longtime producer and assistant Jacque Hollander told The Post. "If James Brown wanted drugs, he knew he could get them from these safe doctors in Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas and Los Angeles."

Brown died from heart failure in 2006, but was reportedly battling an addiction to painkillers at the time. Hollander claims that Brown's wife Adrienne was a patient of Murray's when she died in mysterious circumstances. Police reports state that she died two days after receiving liposuction from an unlicensed spa, not connected with Murray.

Authorities investigating Jackson's death have already raided Murray's Houston offices and his luxurious home in Las Vegas. He has reportedly told them that he injected Jackson with the powerful sedative Propofol on the day of the star's death.

janice m   August 3rd, 2009 3:52 pm ET

It doesn't matter if M.J. was or was not an addict nor does it matter who gave or did not give him diprovan in the past. If Dr Murray gave it to him and it killed him, Dr. Murray killed him that day. Dr Murray was greedy and was in way over his head. He obviously did not take care of his patient and agreed to give him dangerous drugs that could and would kill him. No one can blame a doctor who may have given it to him 5 years ago for what happened to M.J. on that day. It was Dr. Murray who was in charge and he should be held accountable. When M.J. hired him to do this he should have walked away. He stayed and entered into this dangerous activity knowing full well his patient could die from it. Deflecting the blame onto other doctors who did not kill him that day or any other day is wrong.

Hello, Larry,

Nothing is like a commercial to ruin an evening's
television entertainment. Before a show starts,
two or three commercials begin the viewing.
As the action builds and tension mounts, another
two- or three-minute ads break the mood. At the
end of the show, the announcer says, "We'll be
right back," but encouraging viewers to stay tuned
for still more advertisements is just a trick! The
program already ended.

Dr, Murray needs to go to jail, lock him up and throw away the key! For what ever reason MJ could not sleep he needed help, this dr knew of his problems he should have got him some other help even if he had to get family and court to help him, if he really cared about MJ thats what he would have done, he was only out for money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Juanita C. McDonald   August 4th, 2009 1:58 am ET

"That's what Drug Dealers do. And his name isn't Dr Murray, it's Dr Feel Good." Now he's getting a chance to see how it feels to be afraid to leave his home. Now he has to have security wherever he goes. He has also failed at everything that he's tried to do make fast money. And finally, it's coming back on him hard. All of his personal business is now public. And I know that he's probably having nightmares. And do not be surprised if he tries to collect monies for his again "failed services" to Michael. And he will be locked up soon...

Juanita C. McDonald   August 4th, 2009 2:04 am ET

"Another thing, Michael wasn't the addict. The people that surrounding him was addicts because they were addicted to Michael's money."

Truly, noone is perfect and all fall short of his Glory... Being that Michael showed so much love and compassion and was a great humanitarian. He was a great father, friend, son, brother, and uncle; always giving and loving. Truly loved his fans... I quess we should all become drug addicts and make the world a better place. He DID.... Because of Him, We can make the world a better place.

What's in your closet?

Take a look at yourself and make a CHANGE.....

Larry Big   August 4th, 2009 5:33 am ET

I think late legendary MJ’s life was ruined by dubious people around him like Dr. Klein who purportedly claimed on Larry King Live show the other day that the whitening process was due to a hypothetical skin disease. The Pepsi advert mishap was neither good enough excuse to have perpetual shedding off of the natural skin layers. His erstwhile dermatologist needs to tell the world how many similar cases there have been in history.

How on earth could anyone have survived enormous pains that go with perpetually bleaching the entire body skin without anesthetic drugs? His attempt to dissociate himself from use of drugs that eventually deprived the world of the “KOP” is utterly distasteful. There’s certainly more than meets the eye in his telltale! It’s no wonder there’s no love lost between him and Jackson’s family.

Medical practitioners have a duty of care; they should respect code of ethics of the medical profession, protect and put human lives above pecuniary and material gains irrespective of who their helpless patients are. Dr. Klein and his ilk should remember the Hippocrates who laid down his life to bequeath a legacy in medicine to the world. MJ’s life is a lesson to the living in many ways, but the biggest being for us to learn to accept facts of our life we cannot change!
