In celebration of Michael's life at the Staples Center I thought it was a phenomenal memorial. The music artists and speakers did such a great job in telling the world how wonderful Michael was and still is. He will forever be missed and may his music live on in my heart forever. Michael was the greatest star of all time and a shining star in heaven. I love you Michael and my prayers are with you and the Jackson family

Kishia   July 8th, 2009 2:37 am ET

I loved Michael Jackson he was angelic in his manner and was a beautiful person with a beautiful heart.......he gave so much to so many. He is home now may he rest in peace. My heart goes out to his family and his children......may god bless them with peace.

Shirley in GR, Mi   July 8th, 2009 2:38 am ET

Michael's life story reminds me of how people condemed Jesus. They just didn’t “get it”. His deep love and compassion for his fans and children was so rare and misunderstood.

Hind sight is 20/20. The world is mourning you now Michael. They are finally beginning to see what a loving, caring, compassionate man you really were. Thank you for all that you gave of yourself while here on earth. We were truely blessed to have had you with us even if it was for such a short while. You will always be with us in our hearts. You have your angel wings now and I can only imagine how much more beautiful the music in heaven is.

Your legacy Will live on. God Bless You. You will be missed!

Michael Jackson was loved and will continue to be loved for one reason, and one reason only.....the pure goodness in his heart touched us all. On behalf of the world Michael, I ask for your forgiveness for the cruelty and incomprehensible pain we placed upon you. I know of only one other man who endured such pain, and you are now in his presence, may we be so lucky to join you there someday......

Thank you for your Amazing Coverage of Michael Jackson. You are the best in News

Liza   July 8th, 2009 2:47 am ET

If it turns out that drugs such as Diprivan, etc..were ultimately responsible for Michael's death, I hope those that provided it to him are punished to the fullest extent of the law. As a social worker who has heard so many stories about drugs taking the lives of beautiful people and "doctors" who give people access to such chemicals, when they should not is such a crime that is more prevalent than we are aware and which steals the lives of so many. I look forward to the news in the weeks ahead re: MJ's cause of death.

God Bless you Michael, the Jackson family and Michael's beautiful children in this time of immense grief for millions...if ever there was a second coming of Jesus on earth, may you rest Prince of Peace. With Love.

Karen Martin   July 8th, 2009 3:05 am ET

Today we said goodbye to an entertainer, a legacy, but foremost a hurting human. We heard him sing "Heal the World", yet he couldn't get healing for his own pain.

Therefore I say shame on the media for disecting his every move on their forensic table and attacking him for what he did. Instead they should of been attacking the very source of the pain for him.

Shame on the people who so eloquently spoke of their love an friendship, yet did nothing about his many addictions. Through these addictions he was crying out and you did nothing, we saw his fight where was your fight for him? This just proved the same message that was learned at such an early age of unacceptance from the ones that should have accepted him the most.

Shame on the ones that will and are blaming God, God did not cause his pain, but the people all around, that caused Michael's pain had free choice. They chose to be free from Michael's agony instead of fighting for his life. It would have been hard for Michael to know the heavenly father's love without fear since that rolemodelled image on earth was so skewed for him.

Michael was larger than life on stage since the fear of someone getting to know him from the audience was gone and could not make judgements about his personal life. Michael lived with the fear of having someone get too close to once again have the lessons of his young life resonate in the present. Doesn't anybody get this.

Shame on me for not holding him in prayer, like I should have, instead eargerly anticipating his next entertainment value, for my personal enjoyment. Shame on me since I knew he was carrying the same pain I grew up with, not being accepted for who I was in my family. Although the fascade of the family image had to be maintained. Shame on me for letting him bare this same pain I have known, as well as others that can relate, with out crying out in prayer that someone could show him true pure, God like, love without ANY strings attached.

What a mistake I made about Michael. I was so moved by the memorial and his children. God bless his family and his lovely children that I hope end up where they are suppose to be. I had him in jail and did not understand all the press – now I get it.

larry – do you think we all are feeling a sense of guilt, because we all judged michael by the stories in tabloids and never really cared to learn about him as a person. i have had my eyes opened and feel a tremendous sense of sadness and loss. i am a 52 year woman who laughed or made fun of many things in the past published about michael jackson. now i hope to be more like him as a human being. giving, compassionate, caring, clean, honest, maybe even try to regain some innocence, in this world that has shown so much amoral behavior as being the norm. there are actually people like michael that still remember that children are children, and that it is NOT always about sex!! how sad that he is not here to see the love for him that he seems to have always wanted and needed, but never had.

brandon stewart   July 8th, 2009 3:16 am ET

I have spent this whole day crying while watching Micheal's Memorial
on CNN. What did this American icon mean to a middle aged woman from Pakistan? I have grown up with his songs, my daughter who is twenty grew up with Rockin Robin and ABC sung by Micheal Jackson. He was truly a legend who we are mourning all over the world. He certainly gave me many, many moments to smile, dance and just enjoy the sound of his voice. There was nobody like him and there will never be another one like him. He would be remembered and celebrated not like Elvis or Sinatra but like Bach and Beathovan. I hope in death he is happy and away from all the demons and anguish that hurt him during his lifetime. He has given a lot of people around the world tremendous joy, and my heartfelt prayers are with him now.

Amazing, My kids are 5,7 & 9. I always played MJ's music in the car. I tried to explain how amazing he was and what he has done for our world to my kids. My 9 yr old left for Israel w/my mom on the Monday before his death. When I spoke to her after Thursday, I asked "did you hear about MJ?" She said "yes". Israel is so sad. Today, I watched the memorial & couldn't help but cry. Towards the end my 5 yr old daughter came home from swimming at the neighbors, she saw me crying & asked why. I told her why & replayed MJ's daughter's speech. I explained how much he meant not only to me, but to the world. How amazing he was. She sat on the couch as I replayed the event that I had tivo'd. She saw me cry and came over and hugged me. At that moment, I was so proud, I saw how even at 5, she understood. I work nights, I left for work today at 4pm. All day I was quiet(something I never am). I will never forget this day, ever, and I realized how much I miss my 9yr old who is across the atlantic from me. I am so fortunate to have lived and appreciate all that he did. I am so fortunate to have children who not only understand but will themselves love and appreciate MJ the way I did all their lives. May g-d bless his soul and enjoy him as much as we did on earth. Please tell his children that he will be forever with them, he would never stray far from them, they were his world first and always will continue to be from the heavens.

Please fix some of your greatest omissions in the MJ Memorial (amidst otherwise stellar coverage)! One of the finest performances was given by this unknown (to me) little kid from Britain. It was never replayed. I watched from dawn 'til dusk. This means most of the world will not have seen this kid. Significant because he is perhaps the greatest young talent SINCE MJ (just ask Barrie Gordie). I know that it was important to feature big names and those with a relationship to MJ - but did Mayer, Usher and Hudson have a relationship with Michael? This kid out sang and out delivered many of the veterans who appeared. I want MORE of this kid!

ALSO, you never provided the names for two the other best performers: the Asian looking woman who was the lead singer for "We are the World" and the man with the hat and glasses (kinda looked like Elvis Costello) who also sang mightily in "We are the World". The world NEEDS to know about these fabulous new talents. Michael would have wanted it so.

Debbie McGuane   July 8th, 2009 3:27 am ET

I am deployed overseas right now. I am sharing Michael's moments with no less than three generations of Michael Jackson fans. We are crying, reminiscing, and missing our MJ for different reasons. I danced to "dancin machine" in the 70s and waited for the Jackson Five cartoons on Saturday. My friend, grew up with Thriller. Finally, my son Kenny grew up with "Man in the Mirror." When I get home from this deployment, my Pet Rock and my Mrs Beasley doll are gonna listen to "ABC" on vinyl and read my Tiger's Beat magazines about my MJ. Rest in Peace Michael.

Elizabeth   July 8th, 2009 3:30 am ET

God bless u michael, we will miss u dearly, i live in canada and was watching the memorial with my 11 year old daughter anna, she asked me why people like Diana and Michael had to die so young , I told her god gives us angels to teach us lessons in live or to give us a gift from god to thank him for the music that michael gave us and the love he showed to people, she cryed and said i feel sorry for his children mom, cause how would i live without u, I told anna that god will provide and make sure Michael's children will live with the most loving people, and family is always the most important people u will ever have and michael and his children have both, for the people i have read on certain blogs that are still so negative about michael jackson, these people will have to answer to a higher power when they die and god may not be so loving, cause god is all about love and forgiveness and if we dont have this in our hearts, we have learned nothing, Michael thank u for showing everyone in the world that love does win over evil. God bless the Jackson family and children of Michael. Canada will be missing u dearly, Elizabeth

Michael Jackson was a light in this dark and sometimes cold world we live in. Michael was a precious gift from God. A lot of us loved and appreciated him and some didn't. So God took back his gift. Michael's spirit was so beautiful that even though you did not know him personaly he had the ability to touch your soul. I will always love him for this, There will never be anyone else like him. The memorial was beautiful, my prayers are with the Jackson family.

Larry, you did a great job with your coverage of the Michael Jackson Memorial, with all those special moments. I think the most special moment, not including Paris, was when Germaine sang "Smile", his voice and delivery of that song was beautiful. Does he record much anymore or with all the recording people around there listening to him, they are crazy to let him pass. Brooke Shields was so touching and crushed, she loved her friend, and spoke so beautiful of him and their relationship. Thank you Larry, you shared bits and pieces we would have never known.

david smith   July 8th, 2009 3:38 am ET

the staples center did an awsome job of portraing the king of pop. it was an awsome show of pridew in a man who gave of himself threw his music and dance he will be richly missed and his legacy and his life and music will live on forever and prayers continue to go out to the kids and the family as they continue to mourn the loss of a super star. may michael know rest in peace or should i say entertain heaven with his music and his dancing i will never forget you michael you will be in my heart forever..

I was not fortuate enough to see Michael Jackson in person or meet him, but I wish I had. I can remember listening to his music during the sixties when I was a kid. I love Michael. I grew up with him. As a child knowing his music and dancing and singing to his songs, now that he is gone, a part of my existence is gone, a part of my childhood is gone. I'm most saddened by the fact that my 5 and 7 year old children will most likely never know such a great artist and icon in their lifetimes. He was without doubt the best and unfortunately no one can compare and no one even tries to be that great nowadays. It's just not in the makeup of this time and that is incredibly sad.

It's too sad that a guy like mike has pulled the whole world together in so many ways. and all of us media and all his fans ,not being able to leave him alone to grow up ok and safe and sane, that all he wanted to do at this stage in his life is be numb from drugs and sleep, because of not haveing any peace and privacy to grow up like us all did . we are actually richer than he because of us being able to grow up without all the fame and crazyness I would have prolly done what he did many years sooner even , i t' just sad and i love him and his purity. lori

Wendie Rogers   July 8th, 2009 3:57 am ET

The King of Pop has left our world, to a better place in peace and solitude. He lived his life with humility, and touched our souls with grace. He offered love and kindness, a truly kindred soul. His life was one of loneliness that should have never been had he known the love we felt for him in life before this death. His life might not been taken in such a tragic way.

We look above to the heavens and know he is safe for eternity. The burdens life had placed on him were surely much to bear. We will always remember the love he brought into our lives. His star shines bright for eternity, his music will live on in all our hearts, minds and memories.

We lost a living legend for this we will always know. We all owe so very much to this amazing life. But the irony is that he would never know how much he meant to our world. If I could only turn back time, just for a brief moment so we could let him know how much love and admiration we carry in our hearts and souls.

M. Marjorie Sortomme   July 8th, 2009 3:57 am ET

if you dig deeply into the depths of the human heart, you will find the soul; and that soul, the one that follows Michael, will always shine with a charisma and a sparkle that no human timeframe could ever measure. For he gave his all and in turn, received an outpouring so intense and so genuine by so many that his legacy will carry on well beyond his musical, philanthropic, paternal and familial crowns; he was one of a kind, who, through his work and encounter with the "greats", left him in a league so far above, that it cannot be duplicated. Michael, sweet Michael, a gentle boy and man, oh how sorely you will be missed!
M. Marjorie Sortomme (and the whole world)

My poem written for my only child – a Son – victim of homicide age 23 in year 2003....I have cried buckets watching the Memorial today....
My Heart goes out to the entire Jackson Family – GOD BLESS YOU & MICHAEL – May he now be @ peace while rocking heaven with his magnificance!
Tragically forced to let you go....Told it was "Time to Say Goodbye"
We gently caressed & kissed you through our sobbing flowing tears for that one last loving time.
Struggling daily without you for we truly cannot ever let you go.
Am sure you already know you are carried deeply inside our broken hearts while we are so painfully split apart.
Must wait now for that very special day to once again gaze upon your wonderful sweet face
We shall then have all of eternity for our desired ever-lasting embrace.
May the love gifts, beautiful flowers, & candles that glow nightly at your resting place
be a special way to show you …. we are still totally bound!
Always & Forever “To the sun, moon, stars, & beyond”
You are Honored, Remembered, and Loved!!!!

I am appalled that Martin Bashir was able to commentate the memorial service. I feel it was highly disrespectful. Although he claims the interview with Michael was portrayed in the wrong light, it still can't take away from the damage done to everyone who loved MJ and felt that is was an injustice. OF all the ABC news correspondents I can't believe that you could not have found someone more appropriate. His comments during the memorial were unappreciated and he was not a "friend" to MJ therefore, I cannot appreciate any of his comments. Many of which were very unnecessary and irrelevant to the fact that the world is honoring him. We would like to keep fond memories of him.........memories that Martin Bashir should not be apart of.

When you think of Michael Jackson, it makes you believe in fantasy – it makes you want all the goodness in life. But it also makes you wonder if there are other worlds; if there is reincarnation. Michael may have been misunderstood because perhaps he was from another time or another world. Maybe he was just passing through on a journey to another time. He provoked emotions in all of us.

Michael Jackson will forever be remembered as The "King" of Pop, The "American Icon", "MY HERO" and "FOREVER IDOL!!!" He was THE Spokesperson for the WORLD! Such a generous man who gave his life and every thought to the world. MJ was an army in himself, representing peace, harmony and love. Michael, although I never had a chance to meet you, you have touched my heart in so many ways, no other than God has. Your name and legacy will live on, in my family of 8, FOREVER! Thank you for sharing your unconditional love to the world. I feel honored to have attended your History World Tour 96 concert in Hawaii on both dates, January 3 & 4, 1997. Since then, I have framed and hung your poster with my VIP souvenir ticket on my bedroom wall, which now represents an honorable shrine in your memory, that I shall cherish as long as I live. I was and remain so saddened by your death, I too, can't stop crying. Emotions are so overwhelming, it's like a part of me died with you. There is so much more to you that I wish the ENTIRE world could see, I don't say this as a fan, but with all sincerity. My sincere condolence to the Jackson Family, more so to MJ's children. God has chosen Michael to touch hearts all over the world and now that he has ACHIEVED his destiny, God has called upon him to be our guardian angel, for he has more than earned his wings! Michael may your sweet and gentle soul rest in peace. Sincerely, with All MY HEART and UTMOST RESPECT, "I LOVE YOU" and WILL "FOREVER" MISS YOU!!! Loving you always and forever! Michael Jackson was a name I knew long before I made my way from Liberia to the United States.
"Human nature" was the song that healed me when I had my heart broken for the first time in my love life.
My best friend had a son, and she named him Omaru. As soon as Omaru was old enough to talk he asked everyone to please call him Michael Jackson. And up to this day everyone calls him Michael Jackson.
The man (Michael) touch ed lives internationally, and he will be missed greatly. Good- bye Michael, lay down and take a rest. I bid you good night! good night! good night!

Dear Larry:

I thank CNN for the coverage of Michael Jackson because although I had the will to be there in person to share the memorial for someone who is also considered to me as the greatest entertainer that ever lived.

I notice that woman all over the world shed tears. Surprisingly to me at work tonight all my co-worker talked about the Memorial service and to my dismay at least 85% of the employee where I work are all men and I can truly say not even one male at my job could say they didn't shed a tear during the heartfelt memorial ceremony this is something I will keep dear to my heart for as long as I live. My prayer goes out to the family member and especially his kids.

A true fan for life,

Michael Jackson death made me feel so empty inside. I herd his song and for the first time in my lifey body did not move to his songs. I honesty feel like there are no more stars. He set the standers so off the norme how could eneyone ever live up to that. Michael you will live for ever in our Hearts. Micheal u lit the torch and now we will take it from here and keep u alive for ever love u and I'll see you in morning. Love you forever. Kev

Bernadette Lagrito   July 8th, 2009 4:03 am ET

Michael Jackson was my very first musical inspiration. The first song I ever sang or played on the piano was Ben. The first song I ever danced to was Rockin Robin. It was because of his work and his example that I embraced my talents.

I can't possibly imagine what his family and friends are feeling right now; I am nothing but another outsider to this worldwide event. But even as just one of his trillions of mere fans, I do still feel an emptiness in my life now, and my heart is aching over the loss of such a legendary person – yes, PERSON. Because he was more than just a musician, or an entertainer. He was a beautiful human being with love and concern for everyone.

The world did not realize exactly how much he has done for us until now, and it really bothers me that he had to leave us before he could truly be appreciated. This celebration of his life was long overdue, and I speak on behalf of everyone in apologizing to him that it did not happen while he was still with us.

Thank you CNN and Larry King, for doing such an amazing job in remembering the world's greatest. Though I wasn't physically at the event yesterday, the way the memorial was captured made me feel as though I was, much like how Michael's performances made me feel I was there. The connection he could make with fans through his work is incomparable and he is the only entertainer who had that real ability to do that.

Thank you Michael. Your existence on earth will always, always be remembered, by everyone.

I grew up with Michael being the "STAR" in high seemed a special time because it was an integrated high school and he really epitomized what I felt was different about that time and era....I continue to teach today but feel that with his passing an era has gone...I feel he had a road to walk less travelled but he gave more than most people ever have the opportunity to do on this earth....and he was brave enough to believe in his talent and share it

Jonna   July 8th, 2009 4:05 am ET

M.J.-Very emotional. Still in shock. Watched the memorial & cried most of the time. My daughter text me at work & told me he died. I told customers & co-workers no one knew. I grew up watching him dance & sing. I wish I could have known him been his friend, helped him with his loneliness. And the kid that accused him now says it wasn't true, that kid owes the world & his family an apology & he should be made to give back the money to his kids. I hope Neverland turns into Graceland & with that money the family should allow sick children to stay & play there for free.

Cathy   July 8th, 2009 4:06 am ET

Me and my sisters "grew up" with the Jackson 5 and it was a blessing having this family to watch. Thank you all and we will forever remember Michael. His memorial service was a class act, tastefully done, very touching. It did make him human "again" as we all are and will be before God! We love you Michael and yes you "were good enough and never had to change one thing about yourself" Your heart and your talent was enough. R.I.P.

Patricia   July 8th, 2009 4:07 am ET

Michael Jackson became a human to me today the second his daughter Paris spoke. Though it was short, it was the most powerful of all the testaments given today. I always thought of MJ as this strange guy yet wonderful, magical, perfect performer, however slowly after Brook shields, his bothers, and others spoke I was beginning to see him so differently and then his daughter drove it home....from now until forever I will think of Michael Jackson; THE FATHER FIRSTand then only after that I will see the performer. Thank you Katharine Jackson (and Paris) for this awesome gift of realization. Had Katharine not allowed us this awesome memorial I would have never understoood that Michael was more than an entertainer...he was a father first and a gift to the rest of us second..To all the Jackson Brothers and Sister I give my love and prayers,to his children I say you are loved by many and please only listen to your family the rest is all a big misunderstanding...

Alexis   July 8th, 2009 4:07 am ET

Thank you so much for posting so much great information on Michael Jackson, King Of Pop. There are no words to describe Michael, and the love the world has for him. I remember the first time I listened to Thriller, I was 10, I'm 11 now. I watched his memorial, and wished that my dad had won the tickets to it, either way, I would of cried my eyes out. We all love you Michael, sing your beautiful songs to God.

Anderson Cooper and Larry King,
You guys are very special, and the two of you are the reason why I watch CNN 3-4 times a day.
If Anderson Cooper and Larry King tv personalities are the same personalties they potray off tv, then I called them wonderful and people in whose company I alway want to be in.
My wish was to one day meet Michael in person and ask him why he wrote the song " I love Liberian Girl". I never had the chance to do that because God had better plans for Michael.
My God receive his soul and life perpetual continue to shine on him.
Thanks so much Michael for 40 years of entertainment.

God bless.

Michael Jackson was simply put one of the greatest performers of all time. For all of those saying that Michael received too much coverage, he earned that right and not to down play Anna Nicole Smith and her son's death, but they got just as much coverage when they died also.

claudina delaney   July 8th, 2009 4:15 am ET

We the people in the small caribbean island of anguilla did not had the chance to meet mj in person but we knew him in music, where many of us grew up listening to his music, trying to do his dances eg the moonwalk lol even the right leg twist kick. Michael So Loved the World~~So Love Him Back
No one should complain about Michael Jackson getting to much media coverage. We know we have daily issues (politics, economy, employment, etc...) to deal with in all aspects of life and they will never go away as long as we live. He's just as valuable to us (the world) as the regular normal news. MJ gave more than 10%-100% of his tithes. He paid is tithes with his time, his money and his entire life. He was a major contributor, employer & did a lot for this country, other countries, organizations and the people in them. That is a mixture of all our daily issues combined in MJ. Through all of his trials & tribulations he always conducted positive behavior. He was non-violent. He displayed unconditional love to all. He had faith. And when he was mistreated, he turned the other cheek. Things the we all should be doing now. Remember, "You have to come where he's been." He was not only my teacher but my Disciple. I call him "MICHAEL the DISCIPLE!"

Anna Pierce   July 8th, 2009 4:35 am ET

I beleive we have had a few angels on earth. Michael Jackson, Princess Diana touched people with leprocy without a glove, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy u should do a special Larry on Angels on earth.

Thank you Larry for your spectacular coverage of Michael's life and death. I'm 59 and have been a loyal fan from the beginning in 1969.
I have totally supported Michael throughout his life, and NEVER doubted his innocence ever! He is the greatest entertainer of all time, but even more important he gave more love to everyone in the world. For Michael, if we have learned but one thing from him is to give the greatest gift that he gave us all, and that was LOVE...Heal the world with love and understanding and Michael will look down on us and SMILE. God take care of his loved ones, we will always love you Michael, See ya later.

Angela Whitney   July 8th, 2009 4:53 am ET

Dear Jackson Family,

Your talent over the years that I have been on this earth have impacted my life in ways that I was unaware of untill these last few days. Micheal and your entire family are apart of my upbringing, you are apart of the many threads that make me who I am. My brother was followed and told that he looked like michael, I have been told that I look like janet, I have had a crush on every single one of your brothers. You are apart of my history, I cannot exclude you from my history, if I tried I would not be the person that I am. I LOVE MICHAEL AND I LOVE EACH & EVERY ONE OF YOU! The Music is engrained in me forever!

I saw the anger and dissappointment in Janets face today and I feel her pain, there is absolutely NO reason that Michael should be gone right now, and NO reason he should have been so SAD, and so wrongly persucuted the way that he was, he was a sweet and gentle soul. Only GOD knows why the MONSTERS and DEMONS set out to hurt him!!!!

I will always love and miss your fallen brother!

mandana   July 8th, 2009 4:58 am ET

I have been debating since Michael Jackson's passing if I should say anything about Michael's music and talent!........In Iran after the revolution, when having a music tape or God forbid a musical video was sin and punishable by the revolutionary guard, my friends and I (10 and 11 year old girls) would do anything to get our hands on Michael's tapes and videos (under ground of course). I remember when Thriller came out in 1982, we watched it at leaset 20 times the first day, and our mission was to douplicate the moves!
My bedroom wall was covered with his posters and pictures.....we cut the tips of our gloves and I bravely draw his picture on my school binder, making a stand that got my Mom called into the principal's office! I left Iran in 1985 and I just wanted to say....thanks.....Michael, made the most difficult times feel somewhat normal for many young kids that while watching, listening or copying the moves, forgot about Islamic Republic of Iran controling their lives. Michael rest in peace!

Sharon palmer   July 8th, 2009 5:08 am ET

First I should say a great man, with a great heart will really be missed, I remember as a little girl growing up in Guyana, south America, listening to his music watching my little brother dance his dance,my heart goes out to his family, I watch the memorial, everyone did a wonderful job in celebrating what he stands for, tears came to my eyes but when his daughter speak about her dad, I cried, I still can't enhale his death, I love michael Jackson.

Jean   July 8th, 2009 5:13 am ET

What Michael meant to me. As a child growing up in Chicago, MJ's music was an outlet for me. Many many nights it got me through to the next morning. His music made me smile through the tears and fears. His words spoke right to my heart and gave me the courage to believe that I was going to be ok. Although he never new it, he was my friend and will forever be in my heart. Thank you Michael, you made all the difference to a sad little girl from Chicago.

You were God's gift to the world.

Tara   July 8th, 2009 5:14 am ET

Tears are falling, all the way from Guam.

Jimm   July 8th, 2009 5:16 am ET

MJ's departure was perfect timing. He had given more than his fair share of contribution to humanity. God has an unlimited supply of playmates for him. The unfortunate irony is that he was victomized by the parents of a few children who had them to lie for money. The story is not over. These children may still come forth and tell the truth. MJ was trying to live his childhood at adult age. If he were twelve and had buddies overnight for a pajama party, no one would have a negative to say.

My guess is that, given the option to come back, he would say NO, he is having to much fun. He will play with his kids for trillions of revolutions of our earth around this sun.

Carla   July 8th, 2009 5:19 am ET

From the Netherlands and from the bottom of my heart: I am lost for words about Michael's death! Keep his three children away from his father and brothers and sisters! They have caused a lot of damage as it is during Michael's life!

Cindy S.   July 8th, 2009 5:19 am ET

Michael was a true legend in his own time and his legend will live on long after all our sad farewells. My heart goes out to his family, especially his three children. To his parents, it is not the natural order of things for a parent to bury a child, but be strong and know that your son is in a much better place and that he is smiling down from heaven. My only wish for the Jackson family is, that MJ receives the peace in death, that he so dearly sought in life. We love you Michael, always have and always will.
Love you more, all your fans in Cape Town, South Africa.

Alison   July 8th, 2009 5:23 am ET

I had the priveledge with my sister to stand in the wings many times in the UK when michael and his brothers were touring,a family friend was the promotor.Looking into the eyes of that amazing child I have never given any credence to the scandal mongers .
Michael was a gift from heaven,a beautiful spirit.

My love Blessings and healing go out to his family, especially Kathrine,to loose a child at any age is soul distroying.
Love and peace .

Attention to the oxygen tanks that Michael Jackson's chef described is NEEDED. Green Tanks that are half silver ARE NOT medical oxygen tanks, they are commercial tanks used for cutting torches. Medical oxygen tanks are solid green. I am not a doctor but I am sure you can not use commercial oxygen tanks on a human respiratory system with out causing them great harm. Someone please look into this!

Maria   July 8th, 2009 5:41 am ET

I had goosebumps hearing Stevie Wonder singing They Won't Go When I Go. And the silky voice of MJ himself reciting the verses of Will You Be There. I think MJ would be pleased by such a farewell.

I'd be sad, though, if things would be further politicized, with MJ being used by King or Sharpton as political ammunition. Michael was a great American figure and in his world there wasn't such thing as black or white, indeed... but I see him more as a tragic hero, because I'm afraid that he wouldn't have been so widely accepted and loved if he would have chosen to keep his "black" features. And I don't imply at all that he hated his "black" identity and image. You know, imagine him looking like Jermaine or Marlon... This is what I see as tragic... more than anything in his life and career.

Monika M.   July 8th, 2009 5:43 am ET

Michael Jackson, besides being a brilliant artist you were also a kind, loving and gentle person who wanted to make the world better. Instead of listening to the messages in your songs and clips, many people judged and ridiculed you. This must have hurt you so much... I'm so sorry for the difficult life you had and hope that people will take your messages seriously after all and now that you're gone....
I will love and remember you always,

Hi, i have watched the memorial last night in the netherlands.
I was first shocked when i heard he died. My whole live i was a fan, his music gave me a lot. I named my oldest son Michael who is 19 now.I feel sad for him because of his last years.I think he was a great performer, fantastic dancer , a beautiful person with i believe a heart of gold, mostley understood wrong bij people and haunted by press.
The memorial was a night not to forget, esspecially brooke shields speaking, the words came right out of her heart. And Paris, my heart broke. She lost her father and that hurts so much.
Wish the kids can grow up where they are loved most.

Thank you Larry for your program today.

Love Sheila

kimmi   July 8th, 2009 5:50 am ET

I feel very bad on my part, when i say that i never listened to MJ's music before. i never knew how good of a human being he was. i think thats just how world work these days, we don;t care for people when they are alive. always realize when its too late. i have been watching all the interviews he has given so far and been listening to his music. I am so shocked how did i not know all this when he was alive. It didn;t take long for me to fall in love with his music and with him. I couldn't stop crying when i watched his memorial. What is killing me inside is that now that i have discovered how amazing he was, i will never ever get a chance to actually see him in person. its sad. I can;t get him out of my head.
Michael. I hope he is watching all the love that people are feeling for him right now.

Shiyaz   July 8th, 2009 5:50 am ET

Hi larry. My name is Shiyaz from the MALDIVES ..I am a huge fan of MICHAEL JACKSON.I have been his fan for 20 years.
I would like to tell you my real story how I became his fan.My interest in Michael Jackson was begun when I was 1 years old.I was about 1 year old when I heard his voice. His wonderful voice made me fly in the sky...I felt like in the real paradise. I couldn't hear him more often. But I always remembered his magical voice. Many people tell me that it is impossible to remember it.But I really remember it.Michael Jackson even sang for me in my dreams, while I was sleepping in my little bed.
When I was at the age of 2,I saw him on TV.I saw how he performed 'Billie Jean'.I was very amazed by his wonderful appearance,by his impressive dancing,by his voice...It was so amazing.I didn't understand what the song was about.I just couldn't stop watching Michael Jackson.I even wanted to know about him more. But I was too little to know about him something more.On the other hand, there were no internet,no DVDs...We only had a several TV programs. And I couldn't ask my parents more information about Michael,as they were busy with their works. But I promised myself as I grow up,I will know everything about him.Michael Jackson was always in my mind..

i actually feel like a bit of my childhood has died. I used to spend hours singing along to his albums..RIP

Herlina   July 8th, 2009 5:50 am ET

I'll never forget the first time when I listened and danced to Billie Jean. Until today that song still makes me wanna dance, which I'm sure the same effect is on millions of others who grew up with Michael's music. I'll also never forget his concert performance that I went to in the early 90s, it was a grand blast....

For all the contributions he has made to the world during his lifetime, for all the pressures and expectations he had to live with his entire life, for all the difficult times that he had to endure for a large portion of his existence, May he finally rest in peace in his new place embraced with the love, adorations and memories of his family, friends and fans.

Thank you CNN for the Live coverage of MJ's memorial, millions of fans would not have been able to join in the memorial if not for it.

funmi bakare   July 8th, 2009 5:50 am ET

I cant just imagine our world, our planet without this great "jesus of music" his story is so much related to jesus of nazarret.....who came to share love , life and happiness with people of the world, but was later betrayed by the people people he was good to. if you look at it....just like jesus of nazarrete micheal was loved all over the wold and apparently still loved...but he was betrayed by this same people that loved him, what a shame! I KNOW FOR SURE THAT, LIKE JESUS OF NAZARRETE.... WE MAY NEVER SEE ONE LIKE MICHEAL AGAIN.

Marcel Ezeh   July 8th, 2009 5:50 am ET

Hi Larry,

I just want to say that Michael Jackson was the only why I like pop music and will as long as live. He is superb

Global thinker   July 8th, 2009 5:50 am ET

What can I say to the Jackson family? I can say that Micheal Jackson's last reheasal gives us a key to why Micheal Jackson's concert had to be stopped.
The message, which Micheal desired to give people "No one really cares about us" would have impacted millions, as did all of his previous music. WHAT KIND OF IMPACT WOULD MICHEAL JACKSON'S MESSAGE HAVE HAD ON THOSE MILLIONS??? We can see results of similar messages (or some kind of influences) on people, who create riots in Iran and China. What motivates rioters? Of course the answer is information. The answer is messages, which media contains. Micheal's message to people that "No one really cares about us" or "They only see what they want to see" could have easily created anger in people and could have resulted in riots and choas.

Gigi Manawis   July 8th, 2009 5:51 am ET

As a single mom, I can't see why some of the press is still out to find something wrong with MJ and his parenting skills. The children obviously were raised to be loving and very much family oriented. Trusting their grandparents, aunties and uncles during the memorial could hardly be an act as some reporters or experts have alleged. Whether it's the nanny, Michael, Grandma Jackson or any other relative, the children loved their "Daddy" and are devastated to lose such a protective father and I understand being a protective parent myself. It seems that some other reporter's find it delightful to tear this image apart and expose things that his children don't deserve to hear esp if they are speculations. Can we just let this rest and give the children a chance to live a normal life, as Michael wished for every child he knew and never met.

Hello. My name is Panta. I am originally from Iran. I grew up with Michael Jackson's Music under the harsh and strict Islamic regime. He was an Icon for me and I was privileged enough to have seen his Asian tour concert in Singapore. The world has truly really lost a jewel....
more importantly the world has lost the most kind hearted humanitarian to have ever live. His musical talent and good deeds will live on and always be remembered for many many generations to come. I am so honored to have lived in this era.
Rest In Peace MJ, and watch over us from heaven.

I loved Michael Jackson at age 13 in 1969 and I am more in love with him now at age 53 in 2009. He has brought music of love, hope, and charity to all races on this planet. Michael believed in his music with dedication and love for all in what he did best – speak to us through his music and dancing joy in our hearts. There are not any words on earth, that I can or will describe Michael Jackson’s uniqueness as a human being only the spirit of God, almighty (Jehovah), can reveal that to you.
Michael, you will be missed for your faithful fight for change and remembered for your unconditional love for the people of the world to the end of time. You have battled your mission with a good fight as a soldier with class, style, and love. I will never forget you here on earth, but I will see you in heaven someday. Rest and sleep now in peace. The battle here on earth is not yours anymore. God needs you in heaven with him now.

It's a shame that this amamzing man lived most of his adult life so sadly..not knowing how we really feel about him. His peers should have long stood up and say those great words to him long long ago.
If everyone spoke out so lovingly and respectfully about him when they should have, maybe he wouldn't have been taking any pain's broken heart kills the whole body eventually. MJ was of pure soul and only the pure would understand his feelings. I imagine him doing the moonwalk into heaven and make god smile!!!!

I grew up watching and dancing to Michael Jackson. I felt when he gave back to the world, he picked up where Elvis left off and I honestly don't think ANYONE will EVER match what the two of them did together for those around the world in life and death. The best we can do is emulate what Michael wanted for the world, compassion and love neverending for everyone. To simply, CARE about the human race and out environment around us! I want to send a special message to Michael's children, we loved your daddy, carry on, carry on, carry on his love! He will always been in your hearts!

LaRue   July 8th, 2009 5:52 am ET

I must admit, remembering the GONE, but not FORGOTTEN, leaves you speechless. The world feels empty while you mourn their death, but yet keeps moving and going as if you should move with them. My feelings go out for the Jackson Family because I KNOW when losing a love one, may they be famous or not, it will be many tearful moments, many questions asked of God, "WHY"? I pray daily for the Jackson family and other families that have lost love ones.

I know that Michael is in a better place. I'm having a hard time accepting this. I want him to come back. He was such a caring person but shy. He dealt with a lot the past few years. I think his singing and dancing was when he was happiest other than his children. When he sang we was in his own world. My heart goes out to the family.

Hi Larry, I sat in awe on June 25th, 2009 as CNN Live officially announced the death of the world's greatest entertainer, Michael Jackson, a man whom I loved from my childhood days. I knew every single song ever sang and I loved them. Never have I seen an artist whom every song sang was great!! I love this man and the world will miss him. I am so happy to have been born in this era which produced such a wonderful artist. His work around the world as a humanitarian meant so much to me for I realized that this man love human nature and indeed the world. He was accused of a terrible crime and I hope that these persons will seek forgiveness from the Most High God for attempting to tarnish his reputation, and to a certain extent they did as there are people who believe that he was guilty of this crime.

Larry, there is so much I want to say but can't. I wish his family the best and to his children I say hold on to the wonderful memories of your dad for he was indeed a wonderful person. God Bless

Elizabeth   July 8th, 2009 5:56 am ET

Dear Jackson Family,
Him absence from your presense is truly one of the toughest,i know how it feels.Micheal was one of the best as well,he mastered the art that had no language, one that everyone could unify, and each make there own just to relate to others they thought they couldnt because things blocked their way and path, but he was a true trail blazer. He grabbed limits, and streached them, and when he got to those,he moved them some more.He filled the presense that was silent, and his glove was a strong reminder that that hand was a helping one and to keep your head up,so do the same,Jacksons keep your head up beacuse you know hes watching, and wants that smile he always had placed apon his heart and his soulful mouth.

I couldn't stop crying and really felt the world was mouring together. Also sharing laughs and positive thoughts about Michael! So amazing, Lionel Richie, Smokie Robinson, Stevie Wonder all of the legends gathered to honour him.

The kind of asian looking singer (we are the world) should be Siedah Garret, I'm not really sure but she looks and sounds like her. She sang 'I just can't stop loving you' and composed 'Man in the Mirror'.

I sadly regret that all this heart warming support that he is receiving and deserving at this moment could have been displayed with Michael Jackson throughout his trialing times during his earthly life. The overwhelming heartful support and the help of God could have reached his heart and eased his pain. Michael would have known that he was very much loved by all his fans, friends and family with the so called "unconditional love".

HI Thank You so much for your great and respectful commentary for Michael Jackson. I love Him /in life and in death. For me he still lives. His music spoke to me in ways I can't explain, was there for me in times where no-one else could or would understand, I felt if he was physically present that's how strong his music was. He was such an amazing man, so talented. I can't stop the tears, no one will ever match him. My friend put it well, 'He was such a gentle soul, but so misunderstood. The numbness, emptiness and pain I feel for his loss, I can't began to imagine what You his family friends and Children are going through. My goodness paris You are so brave and You and Your brothers are testament to the wonderful man Your Daddy was!! please know he is so loved!! all my love and deepest sympathies to You all!! May You find the strength to get through this. There is no doubt there is so much love You all share. May that be the bond that ties You and gives you what you need!! May Your Daddy, Brother, Son, Uncle, Cousin and Friend finally get the peace he so deserves, Rest In Peace Michael, I love You soo sooo very much.

Michael has a big unselfish heart but broken bigtime by others' greed.

I would not, in my wildest dreams, believe that Michael Jackson, a very self-confident, strong human being would die in my lifetime. I am deeply saddened as with the rest of the entire world – one must reflect on his accomplishments in music, dance, entertainment as a gift which could not, nor ever be duplicated. To the Jackson family – Our 'ohana (family) send our deepest condolences, we feel your pain and sorrow. You are loved, all the way from our home on the Big Island of Hawaii. God Bless!

MJ, Is just not music icon alone, he cuts across all sphere of live, he is to the world, what Microsoft is to the world. he put his family name, America, and black nation on the world map.Ethnicity, racial barrier and religion is not enough to stop his talent and creativity from flying, an inspiration to billions on mother earth. From Africa to Europe, Asia to middle east, Americas to Eskimos. RIP.

my heart is so much touched with this memorial scenes. there were great kings, queens, presidents, lawyers, preacher men and women, prophets and above all religion; but apart from the religion of which jesus christ form part of and was the most porpular person on earth at the time, Michael Jackson was the next. thank you michael for that complete liberation of the future generation

WOW! We didn't know that Michael did so much for the world. There are two lesson to learn from the life of Michael Jackson. The first is that we must deal with accepting people for who they are despite our differences and second follow your dreams/heart and don't allow anyone to destroy the talents that God has given you. Let your light shine! We all have done good and bad things in life. The good that Michael did certainly outweighs the negative things we have heard. May Michael rest in peace and the world give his family time to heal and grieve.

Jayne   July 8th, 2009 6:12 am ET

Here I am again, since I heard about Michael Jackson's death, I wake up in the middle of the night with his music running through my head. I pray they find out what caused his untimely death, and whoever helped contribute to it, so they can be stopped and punished. This should never have happened to someone with a Dr. living on the premises. He was there to protect him from just this scenerio. A true Dr. (especially heart specialist) would never have let this great man's heart stop beating!

It's really hard for me to accept that Michael is gone.I love all of his music, his amazing dance, his voice, his beautiful and warm smile. He is the greatest entertainer that ever lived. But anyway MIchael, may you rest in peace with angels in heaven. I love you Michael Jackson. I will miss you forever!

Michael Jackson was like a prophet for our age!he wanted to HEAL THIS WORLD!I'm really proud of being his fan and of course knowing this speciall person!GOD bless my king!I've grown up with his wonderful songs!I love him so much!

Kwame Gyau   July 8th, 2009 6:18 am ET

I just want to say to the Great Jackson Family, that: Do not despair, but that your Michael, was, and is, a human being above all human beings! Not merely because of the riches and his genius; nor was it, bcause of his fame; but simply this: That he was the truest of love and the humblest of human beings that the world is yet to beget his equal.

Evil men and scoundrels are always in need of recruits to their rank and file; and for these, their greatest relish is to tarnish the image of an impeccable and a Christ-like Soul. Their only achievement is to prove to the Almighty, that your Michael do not belong to this filthy earth.

Feel Blessed and be Consoled by the simple truth that Your Michael Is One of a Kind.

Ima   July 8th, 2009 6:18 am ET

Hi Larry, I am now watching you live on Larry King at CNN on tribute to Michael Jackson. I am so touch with all the news shown and especially when Parish Michael Jackson speak up to wish her daddy farewell and how much she love Michael.

I watch the Memorial Tribute to our King of Pop the Legacy and salute his calmness and face the obstacles his way. He is such a loving soul and father to his childrens. His love he share with others yet he himself feel the pain not seen by others.

I salute and admire the late King of Pop Michael Jackson for bring much joy to all and all over the world. May Michael Jackson rest in peace and God Bless him. We in Asia too love him very much. May Michael's childrens and family be strong. My condenlences to the family.

Michel Jackson showed the world that the soul of a person can not be affected by the colour of one's skin.

Michelle Wilkie   July 8th, 2009 6:20 am ET

Hi I wrote a monment ago and I forgot to say that I am writing from Dunedin, New Zealand and jsut wanted you to know that we love him here way down the bottom of the world. And I went to Your Daddy's concert when he was here in 1996 I think it was. I paid double for the ticket and it was so worth every songle dollar, no amount of money can be of any measure of what I would of paid to go!! I am just so glad I did as I thought I had missed out!! The best experience of my life!! I am praying for You all and You are forever in my thoughts, heart and jprayers!!
Thanks You Mr King for Your great commentary again and Miko and guests. I flicked over to you after I flicked on to see what was on you all as our coverage doesn't go into anything You do and I bypassed disgusted with Fox once again of their dispickable mocking of Michael Jackson, it seems like pure hate a lot of them have and at that moment it was Mr O' Reilly's show of which i am shocked he stoops that love . It broke my heart . Why can't they handle the truth and ahve to keep going over lies. on our local show tonight they had an ex Fox reporter whom covered the 2002 trial I think and she wrote a book about how it was all a fraudulent piece of work based on that horrible interview based on excerpts from Martin Bisheir someone's interview I can't spell it, and he rode a money ticket off his trusted interview with MIchael. I was gobsmacked. What does Fox base their hate of Michael on??
I love You Michael R.I.P.

Yesterday, The reality of Michael's death really hit home. I didn't want to believe that he is truly gone from this life, However, after seeing the out pouring of Love in their farewells. I know deep in my soul that He will always Live on in all of us that Loved Michael & every thing He did. My heart is broken for His Family. I know that Michael's family & friends will see His memory grow in future audios & videos. Hopefully helping to secure His Children's Futures. God Has Truly Blessed This World With Michael Jackson. Finally, I Pray that Michael's Family would show the World more of Michael's Pain through His Many Trials & Tribulations. Showing the Honest & Loving Person that He was. That would help to QUITE alot of Negative mouths! Most of all. I expect to hear of someone going to jail for Killing Michael. To me, He was murdered! His cries of pain have not yet been silenced even in His Death. I Will Always Love You Michael! God Bless! XOXOXOX. 🙂

The heart-wrenching memorial proved that strangely, even an artist/entertainer/humanitarian like MJ had to die to achieve immortality!!
The tears that spontaneously flowed out of everyone, people who knew him personally and people who didn't, proved how much MJ meant to all of us and that secretly he did occupy in each of our hearts; a secret that unveiled itself and surprised all of us in his demise that was cruelly "untimely" demise... The mourning world did prove to MJ that indeed he was the greatest entertainer that ever walked this planet ... He was GOD's gift to us and in many ways, I feel, we AT LAST gave him the respect he truly deserves .. yes, for the record, his memorial service took place in the Staples Arena but actually, there was a memorial service happening in billions of hearts throughout the world ... By gifting the divine talent of MJ, it seems even GOD proved to us in a new way that HE is indeed great!
Rest in Peace MJ ..
In your own words "We are not Alone" MJ; we have you and we shall always have you all around us ....
Thank you MJ
God is Great

Spirit Journey
Soar with me soul
Sail the waves of passion
Climb with me heart
Above the pains that break you
Let the wind wash through you
And the sun dry the tears that bind you
Dance upon the clouds with angels
Walk with me mind
Let us talk of understanding
Dream with me desire
Feel the power of being
Searching deep inside
Dwelling there ...
Returning to innocence?
Sing with me spirit
Sound out the joy in life
Come with me love
For life lasts but a flicker of an instant

Dear Micheal,
It's the first time to write a comment on someone. I have never done that before. I wasn't a big fan of you, Micheal , I know that you are The King of Pop and I listened to some of your songs but I wasn't a big fan of you. My brother when he started to listen to songs, he began with your songs Micheal, and it was the best choice. My brother said that, you are, Mickeal Jackson, the Best and he learned from your music how to distinguish between the good and tha bad.

Micheal, when I heard that you died, I was shocked and still shocked. I can't believe that you passed away. The last few days I was in a vacation and I was searching for the news, reports and programmes which talking about you. And when they announced the date of your memorial, I would become crazy, because the big difference of the local times, really Micheal. I went through websites to know the exact location of LA in the USA and calculated the time differences between LA and Cairo and , believe me Micheal it really happened. When I was going home I supplicate the Al Mighty to be able to watch it live. While watching the memorial, I couldn't cry because I don't like any one to see my tears, but my heart was weeping, till I couldn't breath. At that time Micheal, I felt sooooo loneliness. I recognized that I'm a fan of you, your professionalism, your inspiration, your music, your performance....... Your are the legend of this century and the coming centuries. I envy the american people, Micheal, because they have you, The Unforgettable King. I'm sorry for bathering you with all of this and my poor language, but I know that you will " Feel" it as you used to feel others.

One final request Micheal, would you please accept me as one of your fans?

Loving you, Micheal.
Nada Muhammad

Evita Hayrabedian   July 8th, 2009 6:26 am ET

Firstly, thank you for the respectful coverage throughout the week. I watched the memorial live on CNN last night here in Cyprus and it was very moving and especially fitting for this entertainment phenomenon. His music is still touching lives right now which only proves his good motives even through the music. I only hope the negative media and cynics will give this man his dignity in death and leave his family alone. He was wrongly accused again and again and it is just sickening to see what a suspicious, evil-minded world we now live in. Everyone just just focus on themselves and really take a look at "the man in the mirror". Thank You

Oscar   July 8th, 2009 6:28 am ET

Turely, one the best if thee best entertainers on this planet. I grew with MJ in New York City and if I heard one of this songs it just brings me joy because it remines me of my childhood. A part of me felt sad when he past because he took part of me with him. As far as is own personal life if we all can look in the mirror before we go sleep and say with honesty there is nothing wrong with all us then we are all perfect but, we are not . God bless and thank MJ for your time on this planet. Rest in peace

MICHEAL JOSEPH JACKSON!!! The kindergarten star who taught the world the ABC, Do Ray Mee and 123 of singing. Like the biblical JOSEPH with coat of many colors, he came off the wall to outshine his singing brothers. Like Joseph, he was the dreamer, who became king.......the whole world is still bowing to this Joseph, the world`s KING of pop!. He was the thrill and the thriller. Can we beat ever his record? Will any one ever "beat it?".

Bella - Vietnam   July 8th, 2009 6:31 am ET

Larry and CNN

Thank you for all of your work on MJ's memorial, very appropriate, regardless of opinions by other people complaining that there have been too much of MJ by CNN. They are so shelfish and callous.

Without your and CNN's work, we outside the US will never been able to watch the event as we have been. Thank you so much again.

It was really hard to see. I have been crying all the time. There are just no words.. Never Can Say Goodbye, I Want You Back, Michael...

I wish Michael knew how much we love him...If he knew, he would say "I love you more...", and there is no doubt about it.

Love from Vietnam

Oh Michael, the blind saw you dance, the deaf heard you sing
All through it was message of peace and love.
Oh death, where is your sting
Thanks for coming Michael, the world has something else to talk about outside wars and rumours of wars for a long time to come.
Fare thee well the friend I never met !!!

victoria navratil   July 8th, 2009 6:31 am ET

All the way from Bern, Switzerland, it was great to be part of a great memorial service for MJ, we watched through CNN. The musical performances were all fitting; our favorites were the rendition of Germaine of 'Smile', Usher's 'Gone too Soon' and John Mayer's guitar solo. Unfortunately we didn't find the 'political speeches' on black power appropriate. What a great loss, yet Michael may now rest in eternal peace!

He was special. there was that something about him that made him special. I cannot even put a finger to it. Maybe its too early to try.

Amazing! An amazing memorial for an amazing man! All too soon Micheal's earthly flame has been extinguished, but his light will last for ever. Why does it take death to enlighten and educate the minds of human kind? Why must we condemn and rebuke what we don't understand? The world united in hushed moments of silence for this humanitarian and outstanding human being. Too bad that collective blindness obscured his brilliance while he was among us. The world is a sadder place with his passing.
My thoughts go out to Michael's children and family.

Where ever you are Michael, I hope you are smiling.

Larry, I am going to miss Michael and his contributions to the world, but I am so angry for all the pain he has caused his children. At the memorial little Paris looking over her brother Blanket. I just could'nt take watching her pain. Did he think about this while he was sticking all those needles in his body. Those children did not ask to be created; he sought out to create them. He obviously brought them up with alot of love for one another, but I am so mad at him. And Paris "I LOVE YOU"!

Michael Jackson is a global language. There is nowhere in the world that people do not know the meaning of Micheal Jackson. From a simple villager in the remotest part, to the most powerful man in the world, Michael Jackson, was known through his music.Anywhere music is played, you will find the Michael Jackson there. There is no-one who has never heard Michael Jackson...The video of "Black or White" says it all. as he dances around and with the world.

.......Saint Michael pray for us.

LISA EMMY-IKADE   July 8th, 2009 7:13 am ET

Michael was the best thing that happened to the world and the music industry. He wanted to heal the world with his music but died too soon.

As a child i loved his music and always practiced the backsliding style of his dancing. it is incredible the way Michael moved his body as if it was boneless. A great singer and dancer he was. His best music is 'The Thriller'

I love him so much and his memory will linger forever.

Michael Jackson came to our show in Paris, France 3 times over the past 17 years. I had the pleasure to be perfoming in each show. He and his entourage were polite and wonderful. He responded to the scenes graciously. I am proud to say that it was an honor to know that he and his family had fun at our show. I co-star in the Wild West Show at Disneyland Paris and play the role of 'Annie Oakley' and have been doing so since 1992. We have had many famous people come through and I must say we as a cast always were excited about him being in the audience.

I want to thank the Jackson family for sharing Michael with the world during this difficult time. The service was beautiful and also very emotionally touching. For the Jackson family to have brought Michael to the memorial showed a great respect for Michael and towards his fans. I know Michael is proud of his family and loves them so much. The Jackson family has lost a son, brother, father and friend and to me, that loss is a greater loss than losing the Icon that he will always be to the outside world. My prayers go out to the entire Jackson family, especially his children who where lucky to have a Dad that loved them MORE!!!!!!! Feel the love that was placed in your hearts by Michael and SMILE and that will help you overcome the sadness during this difficult time. Bless you all with love.

Those that are saying that we have had "too much of Michael" news are the same people that support the "too much of Sarah Palin" news. Michael had a miraculous career in music and dance and should be honored for it by all of us who enjoyed his entertainment through the years. The holy folks should stop judging him and let God take care of that. Let them go back to the Sarah Palin stupidity and enjoy. We don't care if they support Michael or not. Who needs them.

Sue   July 8th, 2009 7:45 am ET

My 9 month old Grandson will know who Michael Jackson was because I have taped the memorial and I will be putting magazines in his memory tote so that in 20 years he will be informed of who was this Michael Jackson guy everyone is still talking about.

Amanda Narayan   July 8th, 2009 7:47 am ET

Larry first of I would like to thank you so much for the coverage you have kept us with Micheals death. You showed the audience and myself to the indepth coverage michael's legacy. Your show has never critized Jackson on any off his trial cases you have never been against this indivdual, you have stayed true to the "king of pop". After watching his memorial serivce it has changed me completely I am so inspired to change and to become a better person and to help those in need. I want to continue what michael started which is giving hope to others and bringing the world as one...though there will never be another Michael Jackson but there will be smiles on the earth because "We are the World" and we can change the negativity to positivity and thats what Michael has inpsired many people to do...his presence will always be in my heart and many others but if he were too live again I hope he comes back as a child who has a happy ending.......I love you Michael Jackson R.I.P I will be that woman in the mirror making a change...god bless you and your famliy for creating such a gift that god has gained back...but your a gift in my heart and forever you will remain.....
Love Amanda Vancouver B.C

Thank you Larry. I know you're one of us who strongly believe(d) that Michael Jackoson was INNOCENT and would never have done anything perverse to any child. I suspect his heart ached so much as a result of those woeful accusations. I know know it feels to be accused falsely. Cecilia

Mary Hoffman   July 8th, 2009 8:04 am ET

I watched the Michael Jackson memorial and it was wonderful. The only bad part was Mariah Carey trying to sing. She is not a singer and completely ruined a beautiful song. Plus she was the only one who wasn't dressed appropiately.

I am 57 years old. As a college student, the Jackson 5 played on my record player daily. As an adult with 2 young daughters, My husband and I would get a kick out of seeing them dance and sing to MJ on MTV. He was , and always will be an entertainer for the ages. I do not like tabloids, and never believed what was said in them. Listening to Brook Sheilds yesterday, I knew I was right!!! The ceremony was perfect, just like his performances were, but his brothers, friends, and daughter made him human for all mankind. You will live forever in our hearts with your music Michael, may you have peace in heaven.

To the Jackson Family
My heart truly breaks for you, as i know the pain that you are going through, i lost my only son AJ [also on a thursday of 18th May 2006] at just 22 years of age just before his 23rd birthday. he was studying to be a film maker at purchase university, and it was thought that he would be the next great film maker he died from a stunt for his movie that went horribly wrong, and we are left to ask why .
Michael Jackson was one of his favourites, as he is mine and the rest of the family.
I wish i could tell you that it gets easier with time or that the awful pain and empytiness lessens but it doesnt you just learn to cope with it and live on for the ones left behind in my case my younger daughter and in your case for Michaels beautiful young children.
i lived in the states for many years before moving back to my country of england, i heard the news from a friend in the states who called us immediately, i felt as though i had lost another son, thats how much i loved michael. it still seems like a dream/nightmare.
i thought the memorial was beautiful, dignified, elegant and a complement to Michaels professionalism and perfectionism, but it angers me to hear that even on the day of his funeral reporters and news casters continue to dwell on negatives, including referring to him as Jacko, it's Mr. Jackson to you people[reporters etc.,], show him the respect he deserves he has earned it over the years. whether you like him or not is not relevant, news reporters are supposed to be fair and balanced. i wonder if it had been elton john or madonna if they would have been concerned about how much his coffin cost, or who was paying for the memorial/policemen/highway etc.
but enough of them, this is about michael, and the tributes that are coming from all over the world a true testament of who Michael really was. i hope that the love that is reaching out from around the globe, will help a little with the pain, not having met Michael i can still watch his videos [as i do with my sons] and pretend they are still alive, but for the ones who knew, lived, ate, shared a joke, planned things, sang lullabyes to, the feeling that something is missing a part of you as gone is pervasive.
its at times like these that we realize how unfair and fragile life is and how we cant take it for granted.
i love the fact that so many people have spoken about how loving he was kind and thoughtful, that truly shows the heart of a man.
my prayers are with you all, that you can get through this painful time and also in the weeks and months to come dealing with the speculations and negativity of the press. keep your heads high and continue to show your elegance and dignity, something the press couldnt take away from Michael. we know what the bible has to say about the dead and the hope of the resurrection i look forward to meeting him one day, when all the pain will have been washed away...' and death will be no more'.and the joy of seeing my son again.
my love to all.
p.s. its not about who outsang or out shone or whether the people at the memorial new Michael Jackson, this was about HIM as he was the one lying in the coffin, people were there to pay their last respects and say goodbye, not to be discovered, this was not a talent show, so lets please try to remember that these people still have their lives ahead of them.
Lorna from the UK

You know everyone was talking about the Jacksons during the memorial but there was a Jackson missing which was the oldest Maureen "Rebbie" Jackson. She sang the hit "Centipede". Does anyone know what happened to her? Was she at the memorial?

Listen to Rev. Al's speech...he got it so right...he got it so blessedly right...

To all the noxious Nany Graces of the world, to all the loathesome Leora Josephs of the world, and to all the execrable L.A. DA's Offices of the world –
he spat in your collective face...and he did it with class, courage and concision. God thank him for that.

As Brother Marlon said, "Maybe now, Michael, they will leave you alone."

Are you listening, Rep. Peter King? Many have made room for you at the top of that list above. May your constituents make a pariah of you, sir, at the ballot box next time...and may God thank them for that if they do.

Good morning, I have been watching Larry King for years. I am 61yrs. old. I get to see all the celebrities by watching Larry King. My comment is, it is odvious that Machael Jackson suffered the last years of his life. And ordinary people like myself and others could relate to it. Espcially about him taking prescription drugs. The doctors who prescribe them to celebrities should also pay the consequences for their actions. Some pay a high price to be a star . Music will always exists ,its a way for ordinary people to forget their pain , they forget while listening to music. Michael Jackson will always be remembered. To bad he is gone, but no one but him knows the pain he suffered. People don't like to talk about their pain or their weaknesses. To bad, because people could have a different life if they could. It will not be the last we hear about celebrities dying by cause of prescription drugs. I will remember Michael for his generousity and his amazing dance mouves. Thank you so much for letting me express my emotions and giving my opinions. I had many emotions watching Michael's memorial service on tv. yesterday. Have a good day. Joan

The reason for all the GREAT music is because there is a GREAT person standing behind it! Stereotype always seem to overshadow everything unique and amazing about the individual. How often does that happen not just in Hollywood life? Michael Jackson was more than a music icon. He helped people and kids all over the world. I wish it would have been recognized over the years. Hardly anyone still mentions that even in the media. I wish I could reach out for the stars and bring down the one that outshined the rest with its INNER QUALITIES. Music will live forever, but what about the GREAT, intelligent, spiritual and moral individual? I can’t stop crying over the loss as he was the best human being that has ever walked the earth. People and generations should be looking up to him and be like him. Maybe the world will be a better place than!

Nada Muhammad   July 8th, 2009 8:39 am ET

Dear Michael,
It’s the first time to write a comment on someone. I have never done that before. I wasn’t a big fan of you, Michael , I know that you are The King of Pop and I listened to some of your songs but I wasn’t a big fan of you. My brother when he started to listen to songs, he began with your songs Micheal, and it was the best choice. My brother said that, you are, Mickael Jackson, the Best and he learned from your music how to distinguish between the good and the bad.

Michael, when I heard that you died, I was shocked and still shocked. I can’t believe that you passed away. The last few days I was in a vacation and I was searching for the news, reports and programmes which talking about you. And when they announced the date of your memorial, I would become crazy, because the big difference of the local times, really Michael. I went through websites to know the exact location of LA in the USA and calculated the time differences between LA and Cairo and , believe me Michael it really happened. When I was going home I supplicate the Al Mighty to be able to watch it live. While watching the memorial, I couldn’t cry because I don’t like any one to see my tears, but my heart was weeping, till I couldn’t breath. At that time Michae, I felt sooooo loneliness. I recognized that I’m a fan of you, your professionalism, your inspiration, your music, your performance……. You are the legend of this century and the coming centuries. I envy the american people, Micheal, because they have you, The Unforgettable King. I’m sorry for bathering you with all of this and my poor language, but I know that you will ” Feel” it as you used to feel others.

One final request Michael, would you please accept me as one of your fans?

Loving you, Michael.

Morning all
Respect to Larry King for giving us this medium to share our sentiments.

Just want to say that i am so hurting inside now everyday i wake up i ask the Lord to bring back MJ just like he brought back Lazarus from the grave. My world feels emty without MJ. Who is going to make more music video's and dance like my MJ? why did he have to go? one of my greatest wish was to meet him. I hope i get a chance to attend his funeral.

How could one person suffer so much and still love? Like Jesus he went to hell and back but that did not stop him from caring and sharing and that how God want us to be. The only thing that keeps me going is when i think of the fact that maybe God was ready for him, maybe God is say that he have past the test and now he should come back home. i hope to see him in heaven when i get there.

If this messege could reach to Janet Jackson tell her that i am also a very big fan of her and i would love to meet her one day. Tell her she was looking very beautiful at the memorial yesterday. You have my email you can pass it on to her for me if she wish reply. Thanks

Michael was the best and gone much too soon. But God made it this way for a big reason that no one will ever know.
It was an incredible and beautiful event that thouched many hearts. The silence and respect that everyone showed was out of words.
My deepest sympathies for all the Jackson's family.

Every time I think about Michael I just look for the brightest star in the sky and I am happy because he was with us. I wish all the best to his family especially his children who can be proud to have him as their father.
We should all learn from him.

Larry, you did an amazing job covering Michael Jackson's passing. You are lucky to be there and to be so close to Michael and his family. Michael was always my icon and will continue to be. I always had a special admiration for him even at his saddest times – I could see the good in him. I miss him so much and I pray to God that his children will find comfort and make him proud as they grow up.
R.I.P. Michael, THE KING OF POP.

I'm very sad the world has lost such a bright shining star who used his money and fame for so much good. If our world leaders could look to Michael as an example imagine the worldy accomplishments that could be made!
I am thinking that if any good could come out of such a tragedy let it be this: HOLD THE MEDICAL COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABLE! As an ER nurse I see how medicine has changed and how narcotics are prescribed not for medicinal purposes but for customer service. IF indeed Michael's death is from an overdose of prescription medicine hold the physician accountable as if he were a drug dealing murderer. The physician knows the potential hazards but gives it anyway to get a piece of the MJ wave of fame. It makes me sick and I cry for a brilliant tormented beautiful soul who just wanted love and life like the rest of us.

Carol   July 8th, 2009 10:54 am ET

This man-boy, forever child; son, brother, father, uncle, Godfather, friend, healer, mentor, entertainer; genius. We care so much because he lived his life with this message:
love, light, purity, perfection, otherness
see only love, respond with only love,
give of yourself
Trust God

I hope that this feeding-frenzy media will let his family, especially his children and the mother of his children alone to grieve in peace.

Rachel   July 8th, 2009 11:00 am ET

Hi Larry, I have been following this story since it began. I had heard that there were track marks on MJ's arms which lead to the collapse of his veins. That being said, in his rehearsal video, I noticed he shook his hands a couple times quite vigorously. I'm not sure if that was part of the act but I have been questioning that since I saw it. I mean, could the collapse of his veins cause bad circulation and result in the actions I saw on the video? I am not an expert but I am curious to know.

Amy   July 8th, 2009 12:07 pm ET

Michael Jackson struggled with so many personal demons. His fear of not being worthy of love, feelings of insecurity about his talent and looks, and wanting so bad to be loved by his father. I have struggled in my life with similar feelings, on a much smaller scale, and know the tole it takes on the mind and spirit. My heart breaks for the child he wanted to be, the man he became, and the star who gave the world so much of himself, leaving him empty and yearning for something more meaningful than just fame and fortune. He was a beautiful person on the inside and out. He needed to convince himself of that....we had no doubt! I pray we can remember all the wonderful gifts he gave us, his music, his dance, his love of children, and most of all, his love of life! My heart hurts so bad for him and his family. I pray he is resting in peace!

Gisele G Barbosa   July 8th, 2009 12:18 pm ET

Michael Jackson has left us so suddenly, but he will forever be in all his fans and loved-ones' hearts. It's so sad that one has to die to be really appreciated and respected. The world had chosen Michael as an icon, but by the same token tortured him. What's wrong with this picture? It all comes down to evil money to control one poor soul who only wanted to entertain the world with his unique voice and talent.

The loneliness and the pain took over Michael' s kind heart and innocent nature, and God gave him peace for once. Today again, who has lost? His beloved children, his mother, his siblings, and his true fans. It's so unfair!

Michael rest in peace! The Angels are now with you and your children.

dondon2013   July 8th, 2009 12:43 pm ET

The memorial service was beyond beautiful , I'm 28 years old and I've always been a MJ fan..I still have my Bad & Thriller original albums and a bunch of his cds the man we know as Michael Jackson falls into a category of only a few great Names such as Elvis Presley, The Beetles & Frank Sinatra. There will never be anyone like them EVER.. Larry King by the way looked awesome in the MJ hat , Miko Michael was lucky to have a friend like you & vice versa..I just wished he had more friends like you & then maybe he would still be here..Also I would like to say Elvis & Michael were the same at heart too because Elvis too gave to the poor & sick plus many many charities. Not to take away from MJ's spotlight but just not let us forget what both have done for the world...More Celebrities show follow their lead to help make the world a better place more millionaires need to share the wealth...I lost most of my right foot to a forklift accident back in 2002 atmy work it wasn't my fault & the ALMIGHTY insurance finally settled last summer I get less than 40 grand for losing most of my foot which isn't JACK & I'll prob have to have a below the knee amputation by the end of the year because of all the pain I go through but what money I did get I share with my family & friends & after a year most of its already gone since I still can't work but the point is like I said its better to give than to receive..

I have not cried as I did yesterday not even when my young sister died at age 40 leaving 3 young kids like Michael has I was in shock so I just developed a nerve rash for more than a month – this passing of a beautiful man and brother of all of us has just drained me and most members of my own family. we are all scattered around the world from USA to Lebanon to Nigeria to South Africa, England and Zambia. We all called each other and if there is anything we have learnt from the Jackson family is that no matter where our careers have taken us it is time for all to be together in one place so as to be there for one another when one of us needs FAMILY for what ever reason or circumstance they find themselves in. My sincere condolences to this most dignified family especialy their Mum. My heart goes out to those beautiful children. My prayer is that Michaels wishes will be carried out to leave those kids in the care of their grandmother who did such a great job in raising up their dad and his siblings. My last word is Big thank you to Mr Larry King. Please Mr King can you at some time in your future shows show one of the Jackson family what that racist gutter gossip channel masquerading as a network of news ( Fox News) has been up to especially on the day Michael died they were spiteful and full of hate in their comments when all of us were mourning – that is not journalism – Can they be told that there are families like ours which comprise of both Black and White from different parts of the world and that we live well and like MJ showed all of us we are One. They speak as if the whole of America thinks like they do to the contrary – It is their channel that is racist not America – Please Mr King do it for Michael and think of the Man in the Mirror!!! May god Bless the family of Michael and Comfort them

I am no expert on Michael Jackson but HE was and still is Indeed a Musical Genius with outstanding talents. He was unique. He had a special gift to share with the world and for that we must be grateful and honor his good deeds. As I was growing up in Mauritius I had some notion of Michael’s music which reached the people there even though it is an island far away from where he was creating his masterpieces. I became more exposed to his music when we migrated to Australia and I remember when ‘Thriller’ came out – it came out with a ‘Bang’ globally and the whole world appreciated and applauded Michael’s innovations. Michael and his siblings are talented and they have been amazing artists for many decades. Michael created the song: ‘We are the World’ and he sang it with a passion to help those in need… but ‘You were the World to us Michael’, as you gave us joy in listening to your music and to imitate your dance moves, especially to the under-privileged across the globe.

The Memorial was extremely touching and conducted in a reverend manner as those who were close to him or had some connection with him highlighted his humanity and revered him as a loving and caring human being with a genuine willpower, drive and proactive leadership to heal the world. It is a real pity that he couldn’t heal himself as he became more tormented over the years. ‘Gone too soon’ but gone in time… as the inner pain and insecurities you have been experiencing for years escalated and were destroying your spirit and your body Michael. Although you appeared calm and happy in public you were aching in pain. Hence your favorite song: ‘Smile’ by Charlie Chaplin… Michael you always smiled though your heart was aching. That is a very difficult thing to do – So one can imagine how many tears you shed in your own privacy! Being at the top can be very isolating and unfortunately you felt very lonely but you were NOT alone as so many testimonials proved this.

Certain mysteries remain but some are not really mysteries as Michael enjoyed being around children and behave in a childlike manner and had a sensitive nature, to compensate the lost years of his childhood. As for his appearance and transformation: that was his choice perhaps a bad one verging on self-mutilation but as Elizabeth Taylor commented ‘Who are we to judge him?’ As Michael’s image transformed, the outside world did not see the ‘Real’ him and could not comprehend him either. The pressures of Hollywood to retain youth and beauty play an integral part in all this. For the celebrities who are influenced and have the monetary means it is all too easy to be caught in a downward spiral to change one’s appearance to the point of no return. Michael is not the only person to have gone down this path. It is highly unethical as Michael was also misguided and betrayed by medical experts. Surely they must be brought to justice. Not forgetting the media which has had a significant impact on society throughout this era, both positive and negative. It must be partly held responsible… to affect someone so gifted. A machinery which processes humans symbolic of the classic film, 1984 – George Orwell. Let this be a warning to those vulnerable.

In 1991, I was living in London and I distinctly remember being in Leicester Square watching on the big screen: Black or White released for the first time and thinking what a creative video with the message of racial tolerance… but I think it was also Michael’s message to the world to accept and be tolerant of his physical changes which became a lifelong process and obsession. However, above all his message was the message of ‘ LOVE’ and one cannot forget this. The world needs more individuals like him.
The innocence apparent on his face as he performed as a child was so sweet and that is what I wish to remember.

He wanted to give joy and love to all and he did. Some of his actions were not so wise but I believe he had the right intentions… and so much controversy around him…He yearned to be free and carefree,,, Perhaps he was misunderstood! His songs definitely reflected his struggles and triumphs.

It appears that Michael may have been drug dependent like so many other talented artists who struggle with their demons. He metamorphosed himself as he tried to escape something which troubled him!: ‘The cruel reality of this world.’
If only someone close to him could have made him ‘wake up’ and realize that he needed to ‘Love himself’ just as Billions loved HIM and NOT to indulge to numb his pain.
Why did you shut out the people who really were concerned for your welfare Michael? Alas we all know that it is human nature to want the things or people who are most harmful to us! And as for the accusations against him – let’s hope the whole truth comes out one day or let the past be the past! Ultimately we cannot be the judges.

Michael became more hopeful and had a new lease on life when he had his own children… he no doubt realized that ‘Life is precious; But like a Greek tragedy which would manifest itself – almost self-predicting; and a repeat syndrome with respect to some of the ‘Gone Greats’ to name a few: Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland…. unfortunately he followed suit – His life ended abruptly…
Let’s us have hope that his children will have a stable upbringing and become balanced and grounded adults.

As I watched the Memorial I was moved and overcome with deep sadness… for his children mostly…. So painful for them.
2009 is a year to remember as we mourn the passing of Michael Jackson and loved ones; and for me my beloved mother.
My deepest condolences to the Jackson family ~ Healing will be a process and as a healer I send you warmth and strength. You will find comfort in each other. There is nothing anyone can say to take the pain away but hope that in time this pain will ease.

Michael you are ‘Gone too soon’ but ‘Still with Us For Always’ I would say….as you leave behind a generous legacy of love and giving. You, yourself, were the Gift to us… Thank you.
My only wish is that if I could have met you and done a healing on you. I truly believe that you are now watching over your family members and especially your children.
Michael we wish that you hadn’t gone so soon but it was your time.
May you find the light and peace you deserve.

Enjoy your ‘New World’ Michael – it is a more gentle One…..

Dear Larry,
When I heard New York's Republican Peter King slander Michael Jackson on National TV I couldn't believe my ears, I said to myself: "And this a politician saying this things ? how ignorant is he?!" Larry I just want to say to the following him: Peter I bet you couldn't accomplish one tenth of what Michael Jackson has accomplished in his short life, and Peter... Michael Jackson moved the world with his presence, music, dancing, and his passion to keep giving all he could to the entire world, and I guess Peter with that statement you made, you showed people how shallow and disgusting you are as a politician. I as a law biding working New Yorker I feel there is no place or need to have someone like you representing the City of New York. RIP Michael Jackson the world would never forget what a beautiful person you were and will be for all of us forever.
Thank you very much Larry.
Michael Vita.

I dont know how it is that the FOX network, can call themselves fair and balanced – or are still allowed to broadcast. i refuse to watch their show any more but every now and then i sneak a peak to see if they have changed their ways, i dont want to use the term 'racist' but it seems that they always say negative things about people of colour, wether it is President Obama, or Michael Jackson.

I think Bill O'Reilly as well as Sean Hannity are the worst.

if you dont like Michael, then dont cover him, but the truth is that he and others that you pick on seem to be fodder for your network, because you know the more negatives that you say about them the more people will watch your network. and as for Glenn Beck who commented that people were watching fox show and asking "why are we hearing so much on Michael Jackson, when there are other problems going on in the world, and why are you covering him?" good question Glenn.

because you want the people to watch your channel.

because when he died the internet crashed because people couldnt believe it and wanted to get information, which is what you are there for to give information and not spout your hate.

because millions of people knew of him and his music and his humanitarian efforts, and were saddened and shocked by his death, because it hurt us to see the pain that he went through the last 10 years and the constant verbal abuse he had to deal with, and possibly those people asking those questions, dIdnt like Michael. also because sad to say, we know of Michael and we dont know those people who are suffering in the world, and because Michael brought a little joy into our lives in this sad world.

because when we listened to his music, we felt connected to the world to the message that he was trying to give, LOVE ONE ANOTHER

because we saw the pain of a human being who was being chased like an animal, made fun of, targeted in every way, but never talking about the good that he did. [princess diana ring a bell]

Because we saw the horrible front page pictures of him, OR news report making fun of him at one of the most trying times in his life. why dont you put yourselves in his place for a change? see how it feels to be put under a microscope and dissected and ridiculed. whatever mistakes he made was right out there for all to see and comment on, calling him wacko jacko. how disgusting of you

'let he who is without sin cast the first stone,' do you remember that one.

he is in the Guinness Book of records for having given the most to charity by a pop star. so he has done some amazing things, lets focus on that shall we.

however you people on the FOX network will never say anything negative about your beloved Sarah Palin,[or any one else that you endorse] other than to wonder, what she has up her sleeves, is she going to run for the presidency in 2012 i bet you are salivating over that, I'm sure there are many people who could care less about her running for the presidency in 2012 or any other time, or even why she stepped down. even as President Obama is over seas trying to mend fences with influential countries and striving to get people to respect America once more, even then your criticism of him continues and as michael jackson is being laid to rest, you had to take the spotlight off them and place on her – why was it so important to cover her leaving office more than necessary? did something tragic happen to her or her family i think not. i dont care what she does, neither does millions of people around the world, what has she done for humanity? how many charities has she helped?

besides her complaints about being picked on, which she well deserved as she never seemed to have a problem with picking on Barak Obama, and inciting racism with her comments, you didnt seem to mind that did you FOX., it seems she continues to find a way to be in the limelight however she can and you have no problem with that, but michael you do.

In case you didnt quite get it - MiCHAELS family suddenly lost a son, father, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend, they are hurting right now and forever. that is a tragedy and by whatever means he died you have no right to speak about him in a derogative manner, or to portray him as a drug addict [this is for you ted cassablanca].

Why do you insist on making his families pain worse, have you know respect for people, no compassion or empathy for his children and his mother. Michaels fans loved him, as hard as that might be for you people at FOX to understand. Try to show some class if you know what that means.

Jealousy is not a nice thing to have.
you call yourselves fair and balanced, I think not.!!
what a load of rubbish

i bet that in the coming months you will be talking about him a lot more and claiming that "even in death he causes controversy" [as was said as his hearse was being driven down the freeway] just so that you can make your ugly comments about him,on the other hand while criticising everything that President Obama, is trying to do. hmmm i dont know but that doesnt put you people in a good light.

Oh! and by the way, if a person has the money to live a certain lifestyle and be what you call "eccentric" that is their business, there are tons of celebrities who live very "eccentric" lives, its called living your dream and its nobodies business since its their hard earned money and it is not coming out of you news peoples pocket.

perhaps if we looked into your life we will find some disdainful things, since none of us are perfect.

if i had the money i would live in castle with a moat, and dress in medieval style.b ut then i am weird and proud of it. who of us wouldnt want to live out our dream our fantasy, we dont have to understand, we just need to respect peoples right to be different – its called tolerance, if we dont learn that then we run the risk of becoming bigots, and racist.

his brother Marlon, said perhaps "now they will leave you alone."
truth is they wont, as long as there are small minded bigots and people who hate, and are jealous they wont leave him alone, now that he is not here to defend himself, so we his fans and his family will have to do it. i will not buy or watch any programs that deride, make fun of, deliberately and intentionally say negative things about him perhaps that is the only way to get through to you people. if it is factual information i.e. his children, his estate, and how those are being handled, then it can be handled in a dignified factual manner since i am sure people will want to know the results.

if you are a newscaster or reporter, who doesnt like Michael then keep it to yourselves we dont care we dont want to know.

and while i am on a roll, ...........................

it is none of your business where his children came from, thats between him, his lawyers, and whomever he chose to carry his children, celebrities are using surrogates and adopting children from all over, [including white people adopting black babies, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as there is love] all the time but you dont talk about them, and because Michael chose to keep his affairs private you had to speculate even as he was being laid to rest. shame on you all, show some respect. you are the ones that people should be talking about and the shameful way that you handle peoples lives.

and one more thing * the making fun of the fact that he referred to his youngest child as 'Blanket' and questioning "who calls their child blanket,?" i have heard stranger names of celebrities children, have you heard of apple, moon zappa did you not hear Tori spelling and her husband affectionately call their baby son 'monkey' how ignorant can you be or is it just plain hatred for Michael? if you thought about it you would realize what an endearing term that is – maybe his child loved his blanket, maybe because blankets are warm and cuddely, who knows what difference does it make. leave him alone

as for mjs face he was gorgeous before and after, he was beautiful inside and that is how we should see someone, how many people in hollywood have changed their looks and their bodies, why is it ok for them but not for Michael?

the good work larry.

it was sad to see the emptiness of that big beautiful house, that at one time must have been filled with the laughter and the sound of children playing, some of the greats who hung out with him having fun.

animals making noises and the amusement park going on. it just hurt so much to see a dream that had turned into a nightmare for someone who meant so well. the feeling of emptiness was overpowering just watching it on t.v.

also thanks to Donald Trump i know that he is a man that doesnt mince words and speaks his mind, so the fact that he believed in Michaels innocence, and had let michael spend many hours playing with his young children spoke volumes.

well done to Al Sharpton for what he said about Michael. and brooke shields, also the kings, and everyone that participated at that incredible Memorial. i was also glad that his coffin was brought there, and that people could participate in some way as if they had gone to his funeral. there was nothing distasteful about that, people wanted to be able to attend his funeral, and in this way they could. well done to the family for thinking of us fans, at their saddest moment and showing respect to us all around the world. it would have been so easy to have a private funeral and not share your grief, but you knew michael always put his fans first. so thank you for that.

sorry to make this so long but had to get so much off my chest. it has been a long time coming.

A child grown into a man before the eyes of millions.
The changes made did not change the man within.

For he always was and will forever be the one and only
Michael Jackson.

His dance moves moved the world and put it into
Rhythm and motion.
From one side of the world and across many oceans.

His beauty and innocence took the world by surprise.
That his differences cause many to point and criticize.

Yet his dreams prove more then mere fantasy,
For the whole world to see.

Michael has finalized his last dream for all to
That the man in the mirror has finally been given
Wings to fly.

A tribute to Michael Jackson-the only man that
Truly prove to live a life filled with the reality…

That angels do come down from flight…
To entertain those worthy of his beauty and

I will forever love you Michael..
God Bless the Jackson family in their time
of sorrow.
May God guide them to a brighter tomorrow...

Thank you Mr. Larry King-for all you do to keep the world
in touch...
If I may add-how could I get a program booklet from Michael's
memorial? I'd truly appreciate having one. Thank you again.

Lorna   July 8th, 2009 4:36 pm ET

to the person who wanted to know if Rebbie was at the memorial i believe she was the one standing next to Janet while Paris was speaking about her dad, as she tried to adjust the microphone for her
she would have been to the right of Janet, on the t.v screen.

Lorna   July 8th, 2009 4:37 pm ET

to Larry King, i would also be interested in purchasing the program from Michaels memorial if possible.

thank you

Mohammed Ali and Pele, amongst others, are icons known the world over. Let's celebrate them (and other living icons) now, before they pass on to the great beyond!

Its good that we celebrated MJ on Tuesday. But for too long and far too often, what we hear are the bad mistakes or negative things surrounding these people, its about time we highlight the good they do. Who knew Michael held the world record for giving to charity?

Larry, I urge you and CNN to bring your considerable influence to bear in this regard.
The living need to be celebrated as much as the dead. In doing so, we might strike a chord in the minds of other celebrties and "ordinary" folks alike to stop the killing and other forms of oppression, indeed begin the process of healing the world. As the recent economic meltdown has shown us, we are connected as human beings wether we like it or not.

Let's make Michael's life and his passing mean something.....the balm that soothes our open sores, the "prophet" whose words we heed and the "child" who urged us to remember that in helping others, "we are saving our own lives" (and by extension, future generations and indeed our planet).

Rest in peace, Michael, we will not tire to hope, we will not give up on our world, you paid too dear a price. Thank, you, thank you and God bless and keep your children!

michael's daughter paris brought a stream of tears to my eyes when she spoke about her father. now all day and evening all i have seen on tv is that precious moment over and over. and i have to say, no wonder he kept his children covered and out of the public. anyone can plainly see why he did it. leave them alone and let their father rest in peace.

Please, leave that poor soul rest in peace and his beloved children mourn their greatest father peacefully. I am still reading some inhuman and cruel comments about Michael Jackson on line. Micheal Jackson is a great, talented and unique gift of love; respect, humanitarian, and philanthropic that God had sent to this Earth even for a short visit. I could never understand how one can go to bed at night after a day of cruelty in this Earth to any living matters never mind to the departed ones... such as Michael who had never hurt a soul As Brooke Shield said, "Michael sees the world with his heart!" That's a fundamental and humble statement one can ever get! Michael just wanted to love the world especially children and be beloved. Why there is just jalousie, hate, cruelty, and violence in this world? Why can we be all one, respect and care for one another? God created one world, one Universe, one Earth, not two of a kind. He gave us one heart to share the love, to live it to the fullest with kindness and respect to each other... love and respect your neighbor.

At the beautiful memorial service, Michael Jackson's daughter answered everyone their question and doubt for the record: "Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you can imagine... I just wanted to say... I love him so much." What more do we want after this heartbreaking farewell from a daughter to his beloved father... to the world? The world now has the answer to their evil and judmental comments... please leave Michael alone and rest in peace. He sure didn't get it alive! I burst down to tears and cry so much when I heard Paris's speech. I am still aching for this lost... Michael Jackson is gone but not forgotten for eternity! This is the greatest legacy and memory!
Let us be kind with respect and pray for peace! Just look around how this world is turning into... from war, to Earth quake, fire, violence, hate, etc. When are we going to pause for a moment and listen to God, Jesus, Blessed Mother for their pleas, cries to the world to stop... just stop!?

This is my philosophy about love and peace: Respect, share, and appreciate every creature living, learn to love and the power of fate will follow you everywhere. Gisele Barbosa.
