Move over Jon & Kate – Here comes Octomom!!

Posted: 08:44 AM ET

Nadya Suleman, who gave birth to octuplets in January, will star in a reality television series about her family, a TV executive said.

The Eyeworks executive, who asked not to be named, confirmed a Us magazine report that quoted Suleman's lawyer, Jeff Czech, saying a deal has been reached after months of negotiations.

The "quasi-reality TV series" would be "an arrangement whereby several events in the children's lives would be filmed in a documentary series," Czech told Us.

Eyeworks' British division will produce the show, the Eyeworks executive said.

"There is a story to be told" about the family, he said.

"They might be several shows aired during a year. There are all kinds of possibilities. It really depends on what the networks want," Czech was quoted as saying.

Though he said the show has not been named, Suleman has sought to trademark her media nickname - Octomom - for a TV show and a line of diapers.

I can't believe anyone would want to watch more than one episode of Octomom. Would be good for California for her show to succeed, just so we wouldn't have to pay for Welfare for all those babies.

I cant believe anyone in there right mind would watch a tv show based on Octomom.

To me, its a disgrace for her to have that many children & have on husband to help her out financially & phycially.

This is why Amercia as we know it, hasnt enough money to go around because some women who has too many babies decides to have more, and us the little people who pay taxes, have to pay for her children.

Plus she was having problem with depression way before she had all these children, its not right, it does not make an ounce of sense, so now they will have a tv show for her...OMG ..
Well maybe she want use our tax dollars from welfare, by using her on tv...Let her use that money to take care of her damn entourage.

What is wrong with TLC??? What is wrong with this country? People watching these types of programs need to get a life. You have “Way too much time on your hands” Get a job!!! Volunteer!!! Do something productive!!! This country is in a mess!!!

This is outrageous! Those of you who watch Kate + 8 or now Octomom are also part of the problem. Promoting this kind of garbage will encourage more unstable women who want to be famous by having a “litter” of children they can neither take care of nor afford!. Ultimately, it will be the children who suffer. Don’t any of you care about these children and what they are suffering??? No privacy, No normal life, A self-centered mother and about her fame. Not to mention, if you are one of 14 kids trying to get her attention……………. Good luck!

Look at past history. Any child star or famous family, the children ALL grew up a psychological mess. Karen Carpenter took her life. Look at Michael Jackson and his family! Need I say any more? If I wanted to watch a bunch of kids screaming, running around with smelly, poppy diapers, I could just walk next door!

Octomom... you had better watch out. I am from California and I can tell you that Arnold wants to get rid of Welfare and Medi-cal. They both are on the chopping block! I know. I work for the government! So, you will be on your own!!! Good Luck!!!

I hope those who intend to watch this "show" will keep in mind that it's not some cute version of the Brady Bunch – but rather the very irresponsible actions of a narcissistic woman and her attempts to cash in on her children's misfortune of being born with disabilities and special needs – the result of her irresponsible choices.

I hope the money she makes will go directly to the care of all 14 children (they will need it) and not toward her already expressed vanities. If the producers are smart, they should present the show as a serious documentary of the struggles of both the mother and her children in this situation. Of the special health care and treatments that are required rather than the cliched "14 kids and mom go to the mall for an outing – let's see what funny things they do" – not.

Bristol Palin is cashing in with her People's magazine cover and photos, holding her baby. Octomom is cashing in as well. Are we a society that rewards irresponsible behavior in teens and messed up women? How is this of public interest or entertainment? I don't think most people support the ab(use) of pregnancy for fame and fortune.
