TONIGHT: Carrie Prejean Has Cancelled

Posted: 12:57 PM ET

Miss California, Carrie Prejean, canceled our interview tonight.Carrie Prejean

This was her decision.

Donald Trump will be our guest though, along with the Director of Miss California USA, and he'll explain to Larry why Miss California USA canceled on us.

Plus, Shanna Moakler, former executive director of Miss California USA, will explain why she's former.  Suffice to say, she's not happy with Mr. Trump's decision.

Do you think the original question was unfair ?
(the pagent question that started this )
Do you think you have been attacked unfairly for your responses ?
Do you think it really matters WHAT beauty pagent contestants think about current affairs ?

LadyJustice   May 14th, 2009 1:39 pm ET

Just as it was your strength and courage to be honest and stand true to your beliefs that had me rallying behind and supporting you,it was your inability to continue to do that that had me become disappointed in you and no longer support you. Honestly. Do you think we believe that those latest round of pics were taken without your knowledge and the 'wind' caused your flimsy top to 'blow open'? You lost my support when you told that lie. You should have remained honest and true and prayed for the strength to endure the criticism that would come with, not only have you disappointed people like me who have supported you,but you know that the Lord knows the truth and that is the biggest disappointment of all.

Rose   May 14th, 2009 2:00 pm ET

Former Miss USA and Director of Miss Universe pageant Shanna Moakler just resigned today from her position citing that contracts are not upheld by the organization. She states Prejean is not a role model due to her default. Miss Nevada 2007 also contests that she lost her title due to not disclosing nude photos taken of her prior to signing her contract with the organization.

Why is Prejean given a free pass by breaking her business contract (with intent) by participating with a special interest group (not allowed by her contract) and not disclosing the semi-nude photos from her past as required? She cites her answer about gay marriage as a reason to excuse her non-disclosure and unavailability to fulfill her contractual duties due to her other activities. Moakler is correct – Prejean is not a role model and contracts are meaningless if controversy threatens to extend further into Trump's big money making business and upcoming Miss Universe pageant.

Prejean is legally responsible – regardless of what answer she gave at the pageant. How does one excuse the other?

Rose   May 14th, 2009 2:07 pm ET

In a radio interview played on CNN, Prejean stated that "Satan" was trying to influence her during the question portion of the pageant. I'd like to ask her if Satan also led her to break her contract. Is there a Satan escape-clause somewhere that we are not aware of?

LadyJustice   May 14th, 2009 2:09 pm ET

cause Trump has the H.O.T.S. for her. Did yah see how he couldn't help control the drool oozing out of the corner of his mouth as he sang his 'praises' about how 'lovely' the pics were? hmmmm....wonder where his wife was when he was up late at night all by himself 'studying' those lovely pics. Dirty Old Man. Shame on him. Lost respect for him too. Get a room Donald!!!

LadyJustice   May 14th, 2009 2:10 pm ET

yup Rose. But, apparently it is superseded by the 'we are all born in our bathing suits' (so what's wrong with going au naturel)God Clause.

Avery   May 14th, 2009 2:40 pm ET

How can Carrie Prejean call herself conservative and a Christian while going around objectifying her body, competing with other women for "beauty"? And Donald Trump is the epidemy is worldly materialism and greed. If she wants to really follow Jesus Christ I'd suggest she represent herself with more dignity & modesty, and serve her fellow man in a postive way. Beauty pagents and modelling are self-serving, and completly useless to the betterment of mankind.

Haroon David Peter   May 14th, 2009 2:46 pm ET

I respect your decision regarding same-sex marriage and your beliefs/faith. As per your interview you said same-sex marriage is against Biblical values. Do you think the profession you're in portrays Biblical values?

Haroon David Peter

Haroon David Peter   May 14th, 2009 2:50 pm ET

Larry this question is both for you and Carrie Prejean. As giving rights to gay/lesbian people is a hot issue these days. Do you think they should have right to run in presidential elections and can we expect a gay/lesbian president of United States of America in a near future?

Haroon David Peter

R.Shawn Alsup   May 14th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

I wish you would ask Ms. California why she didn't get immediate support from all the women's groups, and the church, not to mention the pagent personnel. Thank You, Sir.

Julia   May 14th, 2009 2:55 pm ET

Good for Shanna Moakler for resigning! I loved her families reality show Meet the Barkers. She has never made no quams about being a liberal women, and even so, won't go against what is true and right. I can respect her for that! Carrie Prejean on the other hand is still apparently under Satan's spell...or would that be Donald Trump's?

P.S.- I really hope Shanna and Travis are back together. They make an awesome couple, and make really cute babies! I couldn't for the life of me think of a boys name when I had my son. I saw their show and decided on Landon like thier beautiful son. So thank you!

Rose   May 14th, 2009 3:05 pm ET

Marriage is both a religious and legal concept bound by rights and obligations. Fairness under the law is suppose to be a constant in America – regardless of one's religion. Do you think it's correct to impose one's personal beliefs to limit or deny others their legal rights under the law?

D.M. Taylor   May 14th, 2009 3:17 pm ET

Carrie was given a serious question and she answered honestly but doesn't think she could have chose her words more carefully. As far as the pictures are concern the women in the pagent parade around half naked anyway,Please!

Rose   May 14th, 2009 3:35 pm ET

The legal issue about her previous photos is that it is a requirement for contestants to disclose such photos for the pageant's "consideration before" being approved to participate. This is deemed to be full disclosure to avoid unnecessary issues (such as potential firings later). It is not whether they are half naked etc. – the pageant "may not " have had a problem with the photos, however Prejean chose not to disclose them to begin. That is a legal/contractual problem.

The W.O.   May 14th, 2009 4:22 pm ET

Over my lifetime I have had my photo taken umpteen times and NEVER had a wardrobe malfunction. Why does Miss PreJean think we are gullible enough to believe that story. She insults her audience with that Bull..
Is there NO ONE in American Public life that has the balls to admit when they have done something regrettable?

debbie   May 14th, 2009 4:23 pm ET

It is so sad that Donald Trump has tarnished the image of a beauty contest. These women are suppose to reflect values and twice he allowed them to participate in activities that were not allowed. Drinking and Posing naked are not the images young girls should considered are ok. Vanessa Williams lost her crown behind photos she never wanted anyone to see, and that should hold true for all women not just the pretty white girls. What Carrie did was wrong and she lied and broke many rules so what happened to one should happen to all. The image now little girls see is it is alright to take nude photos and go out drinking , you can still be a beauty contestant. What is wrong with Donald?

eugenia   May 14th, 2009 4:31 pm ET

You answered the question honestly, your own opinion, your own values, ok, fair enough, however:

defining your values as " B i b l i c a l " while exposing your boobs at photoshoots is HYPOCRITICAL, no?

Michael C. McHugh   May 14th, 2009 4:33 pm ET

My grandfather fought in Patton's Third Army just like hers, all the way from Omaha Beach through the Battle of the Bugle and into Germany. He was there when Dachau was liberated and then on occupation duty for a while, where he saw how the Germans all claimed to have known nothing and seen nothing, and how none of them were really Nazis, and so on.

Anyway, I thought that bringing up the World War II veterans trivialized what they did and what they experienced, as if coming in second place in a beauty contest really had anything to do with what they went through. I think she was making a mountain out of a molehill–or comparing a mountain to a molehill.

ella   May 14th, 2009 4:33 pm ET

What religion condones one to walk on stage and exhibit herself in a bikini the way she did? If she's such a christian person why does she continually lie about the could her top blow open in the wind yet not a strand of hair is shown blowing? Larry, why can't you ask these questions in a strong, matter of fact way, not the way everyone does by trying to be another nice question guy?

Kate   May 14th, 2009 4:34 pm ET

I agree with Rose. Does one really have the right to discriminate against another American citizen in the name of religion? Let's face it, gay people are human beings and God made human-beings. They want to marry out of love and to have the same legal security as every other couple. God is love and love is God. Thou shall not judge.

Rose   May 14th, 2009 5:04 pm ET

Michael C. McHugh – I agree with you. Prejean should not have said that her grandfather fought during the war for "her freedom of speech". Her situation trivializes the great sacrifices made by our veterans. They fought for much, much greater things than her insignificant 15-minutes of infamy. Rather than taking any responsibility for her actions or misrepresentations, she resorts to reducing herself even further.

McMargie   May 14th, 2009 5:06 pm ET

Question: Are there more semi-nude pictures and a video that will surface?

Dodie - California   May 14th, 2009 5:14 pm ET

Why is Prejean given a free ride by breaking her business contract with special interest group, which are not allowed by her contract?

Prejean is NO role model because:

(1) contracts are meaningless to her
(2) not willing to be responsible for her behavior by giving the excuse that “the Satan made me do it” It is analgous to a drug addict saying "Satan made me do it" ((( Good Grief ))) No wonder this country is in such a mess!!!

Please put this person to rest ( R I P ) If I never see her again on the news, it could not be soon enough!

Please!!! Lets focus on issues that are newsworthy! Like the USA now has over 3,000 cases of H1N1 confirmed virus cases! Our economy, Our two wars, homeless working people, etc......

McMargie   May 14th, 2009 5:19 pm ET

Question: Does Carrie think we believe her when she blames the photographer for taking numerous snapshots that exposed her breasts when a gust of wind occurred? She didn't even have a blouse on that she could button up.

Delores   May 14th, 2009 5:23 pm ET

I would like to know who approved Paris Hilton to ask such a controversial question and why Ms. California was the only one asked that question? Was it because he knew she is a christian?

McMargie   May 14th, 2009 5:27 pm ET

Delores, all the contestants were given all the same questions in advance in order to prepare their answers. They had no idea which one of the questions they would get or from what judge.

vavixen   May 14th, 2009 5:41 pm ET

No see, perez is allowed to have free thinking and his opinion, but she is not. Now you got this stupid media circus with Donald at the helm, when we have bigger issues to worry about.

Who cares what she thinks, let her keep her crown. You people didn't like her answer, so you strip her crown? Talk about hypocrisy and socialism.

geo & Anne   May 14th, 2009 5:47 pm ET

she is attractive but not not like fake boobs...we are for gay rights but think she should be disqualified...

Pietro Sirianni   May 14th, 2009 5:52 pm ET

If I want to see her I'll buy the Playboy magazine I'm sure she'll be in soon. I most certainly do not want to hear her, I might catch the stupids.

Rose   May 14th, 2009 5:53 pm ET

So Prejean has cancelled. Now Trump will "explain" why she did. No doubt he will turn everything around to suit his purposes. I wonder if he will have enough time to cut the puppet strings off the inarticulate Prejean before he comes to the studio.

JoAnn   May 14th, 2009 6:06 pm ET

Larry, I am not surprised Miss California cancelled. She knew she'd be drilled to the ground and probably got advise from Sarah Palin to not talk to the liberal press. Her story gets flakeier as she goes on & on with her mouth flapping in the wind just like her tops on a windy day!

Linda From New York   May 14th, 2009 6:08 pm ET

Guess she doesn't want to embarrass herself again. Goes to show after all these years, it is still just a beauty pageant. Don't have to have any brains, just impants.

Linda From New York   May 14th, 2009 6:09 pm ET

Make that implants! Not impants.

Carole Hawver   May 14th, 2009 6:21 pm ET

I was with Carrie Prejean all the way..with her right to state her fact ..I share her beliefs on marriage..just as Pres.Obama, etc..BUT when she lied on her application, she lost me.. There is no excuse for a lie..a lie is a lie..I think that has damaged her reputation and the cause she was speaking for.
As for 'the Donald'... a beautiful woman..a tear..well, even with all his money..he is still a JERK. She should have been 'FIRED' but she got to him, I guess. Said the pictures were beautiful..MR. TRUMP, they were still against pagent rules and she is a LIAR!!! And you are a dirty old man...

Jan Brough   May 14th, 2009 6:27 pm ET

Why did the judges ask questions of the contestants that could not be answered honestly? If the judges did not like a contestant's answer, that's one thing, but to persecute someone for giving an honest answer is unbelieveable! I thought the question segment of a pageant is part of the scoring system. If the judges do not like the answers given, then that contestant does not get a good score – but to persecute?!

No Rose   May 14th, 2009 6:33 pm ET

Why is this even an issue, it is a stupid beauty pagent. And I think a lot of us could care less what that tool Perez Hilton has to say, or what Miss California has to say. This is a non story in many people's eyes, and a chance for Trump to sound off with his crap. So now Carrie has cancelled, so who will be in her place, Perez?

Rose   May 14th, 2009 6:34 pm ET

The pageant industry is filled with fakeness – fake breasts, fake teeth, fake hair, fake tans and fake individuals. Prejean can't take the heat but refuses to leave the kitchen. Donald Trump, her savior, determines her "fate" and acts as mouthpiece. Now she's got Palin behind her too. Both women are adept at crying "witch-hunt" rather than dealing with their incompetencies.

Good choice   May 14th, 2009 6:45 pm ET

Good for her, there is no way she should do this show, it would be like Joe Biden going on Bill O'reilly, which I would love to see.

Alan Perry Jr   May 14th, 2009 6:50 pm ET

What a shame

I was looking forward to the debate

And she looks kinda like Trumps ex

This industry is full of people who hide behind a fascade

Betty Schultz   May 14th, 2009 7:09 pm ET

I don't know why such a big deal adeal over the miss California issue. First of all why should she be blamed for answering the quesrtion truefully? Did we want her to lie, then what . I know what would come up next , it would be found out that she lied and she loses anyway. She clearly said that as for her she was raised up to believe that marriage is between man and woman, but each one to their own belief. The one who should get pounded for that issue is the questioner. Was everyone of the girls asked that question?I think the questioner knew that this would pull a lot of weight on the judges decisions. As for the photos, who hasn't got something hidden in their closet that they don't want to be exposed. Miss California deserved the tiara as far as I am concerned. People are always nick picking in someones pass to bring up dirt. I say to everyone, sweep around your own place before you sweep around someone elses. I also never agreed decisions made since Vanessa Williams and we all know why she wasn't allowed to keep her Tiara! SHAME, SHAME ON THOSE WHO ARE SO QUICK TO JUDGE PEOPLE BY THEIR PASS. If you think it poses a threat to to the younger generation., that has already happened with what they can watch on television. So get over it and let Miss California keep her Tiara.

Mary Ann in Texas   May 14th, 2009 7:19 pm ET

Why did Shanna Moakley resign after meeting with Carrie , Donald Trump, and other judges..She was in agreement before the press conference...It makes Shanna look like the loser...

Luanne   May 14th, 2009 7:33 pm ET

Of COURSE she canceled! She could not take the heat, that's all. I am certain that she wouldn't be able to answer the questions that might get asked. She's too stupid!

I agree with the majority here, she should not have been allowed to remain Miss California. Donald Trump ALWAYS gives the pretty girls a second chance! Also, I think he is against gay people. Look at how he talks about Rosie O'Donnell. He makes me sick!

The W.O.   May 14th, 2009 8:22 pm ET

If you look at the boob photos, her hair is immaculately in place. It obviously was not affected by the same breeze that is supposed to have blown her clothing right off her boobs.
She is wearing a tiny vest that could not cover her chest if it wanted to.
Just more lies.
I am glad she cancelled. Last night's LIE-FEST by the Anthonys' was bad enough, I can't sit through another one...

Pat Bruemmer   May 14th, 2009 9:01 pm ET

Mr. Trump – SHE BROKE THE RULES!!! She lied about her past. No woman forgets posing for underwear, topless or nude photos....unless it is just she cannot remember WHICH pictures she posed for. She is not a good example for the young girls. You should have used your best line... "CARRIE – YOU'RE FIRED!!!"

Shame on you.. your true colors are starting to show. Too much sympathy for the beauty queens!! What do your wife and daughter say about your favortism???

Garrett   May 14th, 2009 9:10 pm ET

also, i dont understan why Shanna Moakler is under attack, with her posing for pictures as well, as she has stated numerous times when she posed she was no longer under contract nor did she have duties to be fufilled therefore she was able to do whatever she felt free to do. I tip my hat to her in making the decision that she made. The only Reason that Miss California was allowed to keep her crown is because trump is concerned with his own personal back lash and if he were to fire her. It would be attack on poor Christian Carrie. SHE BROKE THE RULES, she should have been fired.

C Kelly   May 14th, 2009 9:26 pm ET

She didn't make tonight-maybe another night. I am sure the tabloids will come up wih the usual lies to make her look bad. I don't blame her for avoiding the media view-perhaps this will take the controversy down a notch-no matter what she says or does, the nay sayers will have a field day.

Brenda Sprankle   May 14th, 2009 9:29 pm ET

Farrah, Miracles do happen. Believe!!

Briana   May 14th, 2009 9:30 pm ET

I am too young to have participated in the women's movement, but Mr. Trump and the Miss USA pageant have slammed the need for Feminism in our face. Why would a young beautiful woman feel the need for breast implants, Mr. Trump? Why would a young beautiful Christian woman see the need to pose without clothes? This lack of acceptance for Carrie Prejean as God made her, in her own mind, gives us a clue as to why Carrie and the Christian right are unable to accept others that are unlike them. This is what should never happen in an America built on the belief that ALL men are created equal.
Thank you

Brenda Sprankle   May 14th, 2009 9:31 pm ET

Miss California can hold her head high and judge not lest be judged.
Believing in one thing, does not mean you are hating on all the other things. She has the right to Freedom of Speech. I support her and as long as people are talking about you, you are important

Andres   May 14th, 2009 9:32 pm ET

I do not understand why the media keep covering this, there are more important things that the religious views of crazy conservative people with their own agenda.

Garrett   May 14th, 2009 9:32 pm ET

carrie hasnt had trouble traveling to the media events she wants to go to

Vicky   May 14th, 2009 9:35 pm ET

I think the pictures are a deterrent from comments from Perez Hilton's rudeness. This is another "Gay" propaganda without a doubt.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 9:35 pm ET

Karen Lee ( lol ) I completely agree

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 9:36 pm ET

I can't imagine what kind of people continue to call the modeling poses of Carrie racy or nude for that matter. Do they own television sets?? Have they ever seen a commercial for Prel Shampoo or any other beauty products??? Have they ever seen the swimsuit portion of a beauty pageant or have they been to a beach in the last couple of decades. If they are not nude then she is not guilt of anything but the charade continues with many.

The pageant director Shanna Moakler must surely know the difference after all there are pornographic images of her all over the internet. If you are not a minor and want to confirm this... google "shanna moakler nude photos". Yet Miss Muchler was so shocked at Carrie's poses. What a complete gay agenda driven hypocrite and queen of muckraking.

I was thrilled to hear that the cheap shoddy hypocrite has left the pageant. She is the last person on the planet to talk about morals.

barbie   May 14th, 2009 9:37 pm ET

Shame on Carrie for upstaging the new Miss USA(whats her name?) These days should have belonged to her(whats her name)
I think Carrie's beauty is only as deep as her makeup. A shameless opportunist.

Garrett   May 14th, 2009 9:37 pm ET

Vicky- thats right when someone does something wrong breaks their contract, its all the "gays" fault...because its a cop out and its an easy thing to do

Dee   May 14th, 2009 9:37 pm ET

Oh well!!! how else could she have answered the question asked by Perez.... had she answered any other way she would have been subjected to criticism. She was put in a "no win" situation. Good Luck Miss California!!!

John   May 14th, 2009 9:38 pm ET

Why does Donald keep focusing on gay marriage and Carrie's response to the question at the pageant? The dethroning issues surround her actions AFTER the pageant. The controversy surrounding her crown has NOTHING to do with gay marriage. It's about her character and fulfillment of her duties as Miss Ca.

She is using her position as Miss CA to advance an agenda of hate and is abandoning her special olympics platform and other obligations. She wouldn't even take phone calls from the Miss CA officials. This woman continues to lie and do whatever she can to hold on to the crown and Donald thinks she is a role model for young women.

Thank god for Shanna. She apparently is a better business person than Trump...she sees a contract that wasn't honored and Trump let's it slide.

JealousCowards   May 14th, 2009 9:38 pm ET

Donald made the right decision – all the women on that panel are old and jealous.

Trish   May 14th, 2009 9:38 pm ET

I'm one American who was proud of Carrie's answer! The state of CA seemed to agree with her when they voted on Prop 8. I'm from one of the most liberal states in this country (MA), and I'm against gay marriage. I don't believe in it or agree with it. Plain and simple. While one may disagree with how I feel or with Carrie's answer, to attack someone because they don't agree with your view is ignorant!

Heather   May 14th, 2009 9:39 pm ET

She did commit a deadly sin, PRIDE.

darbea   May 14th, 2009 9:39 pm ET

Since Miss CA is against gay marriage, what is her position on interracial marriage? On Slavery? Slavery was HUGELY supported by the religious right of the day, as was (and really still is) interracial marriage.

jim   May 14th, 2009 9:39 pm ET

I've heard so much negativity about carrie prejean , and her racey photos . it seems like just because she answered the marriage question of what she believes in , the media and everyone around are out to judge her & drag her down to the lowest leavl possible.

this may sound sarcastic , but maybe it would be best if a nun ran for the crown , and when doing do , skip the swimsuit part , because being a nun, it would be against their religon anyway.
Besides who are we on earth to judge 1 another anyway?, we're not God.

Sam   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

I agree with Carrie all the way.

Willene Goza   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

Christians do not do 'nude' poses and then lie about it. What does it say about Sarah Palin if she 'sides' with her? That tells us neither of them are Christians.

Kenneth Krajewski   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

In the scheme of things what does this do for society.

karen   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

trump said it all carrie is so beautiful she does not have to obey rules. you and i would have to but not her she is so beautiful

Vicky   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

Carrie Prejean, hang in there, you are doing a GREAT JOB! You do not have to apologize to anyone, you are a Christian. Who are they to point fault at you when they have four other fingers pointing back, the problem is they have not been caught yet, pompous attitudes.

Deb Rinaldi   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

Bottom line is that she broke her contract. I don't care about her answer to the question of gay marriage, everyone has the right to voice their opinion, but Donald Trump's "excuse" that if she was not so beautiful who would care? That is plain sexist and wrong. She should lose her crown due to her breaking of the contract, end of subject.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

Carrie Prejean You are an idiot! Stop it... stop it... stop making excuses for her. "Satan made me do it" Smart and saying Satan made me do it is in congruent!

Garrett   May 14th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

i wish Donald Trump would stop saying the some thing more than once, He;s given those excuses and self promotion in every interview he's been in

Chris   May 14th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

I am not happy to see this girl still called 'Ms California', she blew it, blew her contract, she should be GONE!

virginia   May 14th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

I think it is all well and good to discuss the issue about gay marriage and it is much more of an issue in California. However, does anyone remember who the new USA is and more importantly, does anyone care. I think it has been very unfair to the new Miss USA – Miss North Carolina.

darbea   May 14th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

Correction to my previous post: Interracial marriage was (and really still is) banned and or sinful to the religious right

janet coburg   May 14th, 2009 9:42 pm ET

What a backward country you have. Why is it o.k. to be a biggot in your country. What would happen if Miss California said that interracial couples should not be married. Would that be tolerated. Thank God I live in Canada.

Jeri   May 14th, 2009 9:42 pm ET

Did donald Trump really say you have to smart to be in a pageant? whatever! Her Freedom of Speech rights were not 'trumped', she was just criticized for being stupid. She'll get a good job at Hooters someday.

Michael L. Casey   May 14th, 2009 9:43 pm ET

Carrie lied on her application and, therefore, should have lost the crown. If Carrie was any nationality other than a pretty, white woman she would have been fired. Look at what happened to Vanessa Williams. Unfair!

Roxanne Guidry   May 14th, 2009 9:43 pm ET

With regards to Miss California and her title. Although I do have friends who are gay and I respect them as people, I do share in Carrie's opinion about marriage between a man and a woman–but I do realize it is not my place to judge. But, my question is what exactly is the point of having rules if they can be broken? Why is it okay for Carrie Prejean and it was not okay for Vanessa Williams? What was the difference.

Garrett   May 14th, 2009 9:43 pm ET

Carrie Prejean has done everything BUT a good job, she's lied pointed fingers not taken accountablility for anything, dropped her original platform of the special olympics to speak on behalf of a bigoted lying group overall i say shes done a horrible job,

Mark   May 14th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

Shanna, aka Playboy model is the pot calling the kettle black.

Tina   May 14th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

Carrie is beautiful and she will go very far now. Liberals are making her a star.

Dee   May 14th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

Sarah Palin -WHO??? she needs to go back to her backyard where she can "keep her eye on the Russians" and advise teenagers about the dangers and consequences of having unprotected sex.

sarah   May 14th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

Carrie Prejeans 15 mins. of fame is should be over already!

Randy Conrad   May 14th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

How does Carrie Prejean posing semi-nude go along with her religious beliefs and morals?

Kenneth Krajewski   May 14th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

We are facing much more important things in life then to worry about some beauty queen and her opinion; albeit even if she lied to get there. Why are we even wasting our time with this.

Sue   May 14th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

Ms Moakler should have been fired. She is a poor excuse for an example for young women, she is a hypocrite. Carrie exercised her free speech and was ripped apart for it by these hypocrites!

James31   May 14th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

I fully support Donald Trump's decision to allow Miss Caiifornia to keep her crown. What we seem to fail to recognize is that all of this came about because she simply gave a straightforward answer to the question she was asked. If the photos had appeared with the initial controversy around her response to the question, the outcome may be different. So it's a rather gray area; not black and white.

Someone said here that everyone had the questions in advance. If that's true, that makes it even more phenomenal that the answers given by two others in the final five were so absurd. One had to do with bailing out the banks; she said all of our tax money should go to Medicaid, etc. Well, if we don't work out way out of this financial mess, we will all be on Medicaid. The other ridiculous answer was the one given to the question on healthcare. Perhaps we cannot criticize them, but certainly they embarrassed themselves. But because Miss California's question was so controversial, she has to pay a price for a simply, straightforward answer.

Donald Trump has a beautiful wife and there's no justification for suggesting he has "eyes" for Miss Caifornia. Let's not embarrass ourselves.

Camille   May 14th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

The execuetives of the Miss California pagents are fueling the media..Shanna is very two faced. she needed to resign..did she not have public fights with Travis...and posed nude for what makes her different from Carrie....both hustling to get into the lime light and now she is acting so self righteous..she needs to stop....what about her MTV reality shows...look at her behavior.

If you asked me they are all liars.....

Brittney   May 14th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

There are millions of people against gay marriage. Thanks for the hype Perez.

LauraLee   May 14th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

Carrie Prejean is a much better role model for young women than Ms. Moakler. Carrie will continue to fight for what she believes, and she stands for an ideal which apparently Ms. Moakler has forsaken: Moms and Dads raising children in families protected as much as possible by the law. Ms. Moakler, please recognize that the vast majority OF THE WORLD agrees with Carrie, not with you, or others who are pro-gay marriage.

sean   May 14th, 2009 9:45 pm ET

what's the big deal about nudity anyway? we should learn from europeans. btw did carrie receive money from the networks for her speech?

Andy Canada   May 14th, 2009 9:46 pm ET

Of coursse they forgets about Miss USA. She is the real runner up

barbie   May 14th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

So beautiful people aren't bound to contracts? I'm glad she didn't win.

michael   May 14th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

ask any question about abortion, politics, religion, gay marriage and watch the extremists go up in arms. It wasn't a hard question, it was a controversial question and no matter how you answer it, there is always the "other" side who will disagree with however you answer.

Gregory P.   May 14th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

Shanna Moakler is jealous of Miss California, Mr. Trump made the decision and she needs to either accept it or move on. Miss Moakler just wants to keep her face in the news.

Beth   May 14th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

On the Today show they gave a statement by the photographer who took the pictures of Carrie's wardrobe malfunction. Through his attorney the statement was it was not a "malfunction" and Carrie knew "how" she was posing.

Also, was she only 16 at that time? Sounds like illegal photos if she was under 18.

Helen Johnson   May 14th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

Mr King,
Miss USA is a job and as such if someone lies to gain employment and the lie is discovered the person is fried and a person a equally qualified person is given the job. She has lied! She professes to be of high morality yet she poses half naked! Where are the morals naked and lying!

emmy   May 14th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

Good for you Shanna! Very proud of you for sticking up for yourself and keeping your integrity and not just towing the company line.

Dave   May 14th, 2009 9:48 pm ET

This whole thing with Miss California is getting ridiculous. First, there are a lot more inportant issues to talk about. Second, it seems to be about a spoiled young woman who didn't get her way and a big ego (the Donald) who made a decision for his own benefit. I guess breaking contract rules doesn't matter as long as it gets the pageents a little more publicity. If another businessman broke a contact with Trump he'd sue their butt off. I'd like to see a lot less of it all, including Donald Trump), on TV. There are a lot of bigger issues that do matter more. Donald and Miss California are jokes!

Maria Thetford   May 14th, 2009 9:48 pm ET

I was surprise when I sow the contest, All this woman look alike. Apparently the look that Donall T. likes. This woman should desappear, go home after all we have all the others clones she will not be miss. If she stay she'll be BOO every where she shows up by the liberals and Chiristians alike.( semi nude pictures not very chiristian)

sarah   May 14th, 2009 9:49 pm ET

I feel so bad for Kristen Dalton. If you don't know who she is, she is the young lady who actually won Miss USA. Nobody is talking about her. It's all about Carrie Prejean & her hurt feelings. You lost Carrie, move on.

Briana   May 14th, 2009 9:50 pm ET

Mr. McHugh has hit the nail on the head the trivialization of our nation's veterans and families' sacrifice (especially during a time of war) is horrible. Give this girl a vacation and a history lesson. My grandfather, cousins, husbands and relatives did not lay their life on the line so someone could pout about coming in second in a beauty contest. Educate this girl and she could make a great Miss California PLEASE.

James31   May 14th, 2009 9:50 pm ET

I read a few posts. It's unbelievable that race works itself into every single subject and issue. I can only believe those that go there must be among the most racist. There is no connection between gay marriage and interracial marriage. And, just for the record, obviously judging by the vote in many states, there clearly are some opposed to gay marriage who are not part of the far right. It would be great if the posts here could just focus on the particular person/issue who is the subject of the evening.

Writer   May 14th, 2009 9:50 pm ET

Why have we lowered our standards for Miss American contestants? By doing so we get no honest contestants as there is no penalty.

Daniel Dsouza   May 14th, 2009 9:50 pm ET

I respected Carrie's position on her freedom to express her family
value, but if she lies about blowing wind and breaks her contract, how do I know what she professes to be true

ken   May 14th, 2009 9:50 pm ET

If Miss USA becomes Miss Universe, Carrie will be Miss USA. Great!

RockyRacoon   May 14th, 2009 9:51 pm ET

What everyone seems to be missing is that she said basically that individuals can marry who they want but her personal preference was heterosexuality. End of story.

GRAM IN LASVEGAS   May 14th, 2009 9:51 pm ET

What could we exspect when most of the judges are gay? This was a agenda the gays pushed . Shanna Moakler should resigned she and her gay partner should set there own up. Shanna Moakler is no role model .

Brian   May 14th, 2009 9:51 pm ET

I wish we could move on to more important issues this this beauty pageant crap

Trish   May 14th, 2009 9:51 pm ET

Interesting. . . all of you who say she's not a Christian because she lied. Oh come on. So you're telling me that Christians can't be tempted or aren't succeptible to sinning? Are you telling me that Christians are expected to be perfect 100% of the time??

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 9:52 pm ET

Carrie Prejean, lies about the pictures, about her contract... she a total lair! She is a CHILD! She is not willing to be responsible for her behaviors.

Carrie, you would make an excellent politician. YOU CAN LIE WITH THE BEST OF THEM!!!

Lp   May 14th, 2009 9:52 pm ET

Oh, so its OKAY to Lie as long as you're Beautiful?
Its okay to HATE, as long as you do it quietly?
Its okay to pose naked, or semi nude, and then cry FOUL when someone shows the photos?
Gimme a break!

She shouldn't be allowed to keep her crown, PERIOD.

Lying Hate Mongers can't really be representing the ENTIRE state of California, can they?

Marion   May 14th, 2009 9:53 pm ET

Kudos to Miss California for speaking her mind and not paying lipservice! I totally support her.

Writer   May 14th, 2009 9:53 pm ET

She should resign and let the runner up represent California. So much for intregity. Obviously, lying is part of her character and CA doesn't need her.

Daniel Dsouza   May 14th, 2009 9:53 pm ET

Can Lesbians participate

Tom S.   May 14th, 2009 9:53 pm ET

If this young lady gets to keep her crown, why not Vennesa Williams get to keep hers as well?

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 9:53 pm ET

I wish Keith Lewis would also resign. They really are such a discussing pair.

linda   May 14th, 2009 9:54 pm ET

this entire issue is ridiculous! What an arrogant snob Carrie is and to stand at the press conference and blame everyone but herself is so maddening. This young woman is a horrible example for our young girls, posing for the photos is one thing but outright lies and not to even face up to it like shes above that!! Donald Trump you should be ashamed and Carrie Prejean you need to quietly go away and take Sarah Palin with you!!!!

GRAM IN LASVEGAS   May 14th, 2009 9:54 pm ET

“Gay” propaganda , They need to step back it didnt work and will never work. I can't make them stright and they can't make me Gay. They need to read the bible and they will know who God wants them to be.

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 9:55 pm ET

The question about lesbians is an interesting one. I noticed in their contract that you must be a "Natural" born woman. So I guess they are prejudiced to Transsexuals.

Marty   May 14th, 2009 9:55 pm ET

Vanessa Williams was asked for her crown back for posing nude.

Trina   May 14th, 2009 9:55 pm ET

I believe Donald Trump made a good decision. Those photos were modeling photos, they were not trashy photos on myspace. Shanna has put her life out there being drunk a lot on her reality show, posing for playboy, getting involved in an altercation in a bar over her ex. This is not the type of woman to be a role model for the young women of california anyway. Judging from her past, I believe she should have had more tolerance and patience for Carrie. Carrie was asked a question and gave her honest opinion. I applaud her for not giving a generic answer to try to please the judge.

Honest Lady   May 14th, 2009 9:56 pm ET

Prejean lied. She lied. Then she tried to cover it up. That makes her a cheat, as well. Why would we want a liar and cheat to wear the title of "Miss USA"? When she expressed her opinion on gay marriage, that was fine. I don't agree with her, but it's her opinion and she has the right to express it. (I didn't agree with Hilton, either, but it was his right to express, even if the language he used was ill-advised.) If she thinks that is what this is all about, she's mistaken. She lied and she cheated. She should never have been in this pageant in the first place!

The Donald must be reveling in the publicity. Anti-Gay Rights groups are reveling in the publicity. Even Sarah Palin, for pity sake, is grabbing all she can get to increase her political capital of all things. This entire thing is a joke! Let's talk about someone and something important, not this baloney.

Dee   May 14th, 2009 9:56 pm ET

unauthorized!!! what!!! you're kidding me!!! she was surely posing for the photo!!! I respect your response for the question posed to you by Perez but please don't lie about the photos you willing posed for and try to place blame on the photographer. OWN UP TO IT!!! we all make mistakes and we learn from them.

LuLu   May 14th, 2009 9:57 pm ET

Does it really matter that we elect a President who is gay rather then elect the best person for the job?? The day that happens I will no longer support gays and their rights!!!! It should only matter that they can do the job. That's like saying we should elect a president who has brown hair rather than blond hair or even brown eyes. I'm not for that way of thinking for anyone........

Kenneth   May 14th, 2009 9:57 pm ET

With all that is going on in our countyr how does this even merit the time we are spending on this. Get a life!!

Writer   May 14th, 2009 9:57 pm ET

I hope Donald's employees are relieved to know they can lie and still have a job since he obviously promotes and excuses it.

Soraya   May 14th, 2009 9:58 pm ET

I can respect Miss California's opinion on the gay marriage issue. Personally, like any other tax paying, hard working Americans it's my opinion they should be able to enjoy the same rights as every one else. My issue is, her lies about the pictures and blame it on the potographer or the weather. She is taking no responsibility for her actions and if she has "morals" to point the fingers at gay people, where were her morals when she was prostituting herself t by taking nude pictures?
It seems like a double standard to me. She is not a good role model for young girls out there who may want to look up to her.
She needs to decide!

elana   May 14th, 2009 9:58 pm ET

So we have now learned, according to Donald Trump, that in the 21st Century, it's O.K. to lie and cheat your way thrrough life!!! Thanks Donald!! Thanks alot! Your statements tonight (and yesterday) are only about POWER, MONEY, and CONTROL!! The word TRUTH doesn't matter to you! No wonder you are a Millionaire! Who knows how many times you have lied and cheated your way through life??????? However, there are at this very moment, little girls who are about 8-10 years old already DREAMING of one day being Miss America, and/or Miss Universe, and your words to them are exciting, because now they too are looking forward to lying, cheating, and manipulating their way through the pageants just knowing there will be another "Donald Trump" somewhere out there to stand up for them when the real truth surfaces, and like Carrie Prejean, will retain their crown for whatever State or Country they may represent!! And finally, this woman is NOT speaking her own truth! She is a fake, and is not authentic!!

John   May 14th, 2009 9:58 pm ET

Carrie is entitled to her own personal opinions.

Shana Moakler should practice what she says and let ppl have their own opinions WITHOUT persecuting and attacking ppl.

Chad   May 14th, 2009 9:58 pm ET

Shanna, you CANNOT let the majority decide by voting, the rights of a minority!

Jeff   May 14th, 2009 9:58 pm ET

MsBoo50   May 14th, 2009 9:59 pm ET

Ms California is lying, that OK, but just admit that you have lied, dont keep lying. We have all sinned in our lives, but admit that, people will respect you more!!!!

Trish   May 14th, 2009 10:00 pm ET

RE: Sarah's post - May 14th, 2009 9:49 pm ET

This has nothing to do with Carrie and hurt feelings. Furthermore, she would have moved on if she weren't attacked. If I were attacked like that, I too would put up a big fight and there would be a similar ending . . . hypocrite Shanna resigning (THANK GOD!)

aj dasa   May 14th, 2009 10:00 pm ET

Its not a big deal.we live in a society where murderes and child
molesters go free every day.
Look at Shanna Mokler, look at a her life?
Drugs and infidelity so on.

GRAM IN LASVEGAS   May 14th, 2009 10:02 pm ET

Marie Brown   May 14th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

When troops are fighting for womens freedom of speech in middle east; why is Carrie being harrassed for her free thought on marriage? Perez is not the poster boy? in all homes. As for the photos of her we see worse on afternoon soaps. The pageant contestants strut around in skimpy outfits,so why the flap? I find it ridiculous that the former contestant has resigned. Hasn't she posed for playboy? I think she is just looking for 10 min. of fame. Carrie is being bullied by America. If you don't want the answer...don't ask the question.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

Cheney is secret because he has been taking the Americans to the cleaners!!! Of course, I would be quiet too....

Chad   May 14th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

Why doesn't anyone reprimand Carrie for being anti-gay rights? If she were asked instead, about abolishing affirmative action, you would have had Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson all over her....she would have definately lost her crown!

Rachael Beadle   May 14th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

It is unbelieveable that those on the show find it unreasonable what Carrie was sharing with Dr. Dobson. I am a christian and I understand exactly what she was saying about the devil tempting her and God being there to say don't let me down. If you are a true Christian you will understand that the devil tempts you to do and say many things and because we are human we have to rely on God to reassure us to do and say the right thing. Shout out to all the Christians.

Julie   May 14th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Carrie should not care if she keeps her Miss California crown here on earth. She stands for Christian values "Marriage between a man and a woman". If she keeps standing for Jesus, she will earn many crowns in heaven. These will be worn for eternal life.

So what. She had those pictures taken. She is not perfect. What about those bikini's they flaunt on stage at the pageant?? They are just a revealing. Just remember, For all have sinned, and fall short of the Glory of God. Romans 3:23

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:07 pm ET

@ Marie Brown Who cares how she answered the question. She is a LIAR! She broke her contract, and then lies to cover up.

Chad   May 14th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

LuLu, if you'd have had each state take a vote back in 1967 whether a black person and a white person should be allowed to marry, it would have lost! You cannot put the rights of a minority up to a vote! It needs to be a constitutional amendment. If a vote was taken in my neighborhood to keep minorities would win. Is that fair? I don't think so!

ken   May 14th, 2009 10:09 pm ET

What are Miss USA's chances of becoming Miss Universe? I think the Donald would like to reignite this controversy by promoting Carrie to Miss USA. When is the Miss Universe Pageant anyway? I'll surely watch this year rooting for our girl. What state was she from again?

aj dasa   May 14th, 2009 10:10 pm ET

we should not allow this fake named gay guy to control the
family value in america.
We should stop this gay agenda and propoganda?
how can they equal being gay to a being a black man or civil rights?
These are two different life styles.
Humanity and sexual perversion?

GRAM IN LASVEGAS   May 14th, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Gays should have there own contest that way they can judge there own.God doesnt make bad people who try to change the rules they do that themselfs . Read the bible he talks about gays , We do not hate them he wants us to love them it is up to them to be gay or not to be gay. He will judge them not us .

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 10:12 pm ET

Chad.... you don't think that everyone is all over Carrie??? Were have you been. Have you missed the whole mud slinging campaign. The releasing of Carries medical records concerning her breast surgery by Lewis and Moakler. The amazing appearance of personal photos from a modeling photo portfolio.

I'm waiting to hear how all of the other contestants STACK up. Know ones released their private information yet. Just these two little muckrakers at work.

Trish   May 14th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

Reprimand her for being anti-gay rights? Do you not get that it's her opinion? I have friends who are gay. Do I think they should be getting married? Ahhh. . . negative. I have african american friends. Do I think there should be affirmative action? Hell no! There are gay people getting married and adopting children. Do you not think those kids are going to get ridiculed in school? Children will be the ones to suffer for gay marriage. It will be extremely damaging to their psyche. As far as affirmative action, take a test, score high, get the job. Why should someone get a free pass because they're a minority? There are plenty of minorities out there who don't cheat! Affirmative action is screwing qualified individuals.

Briana   May 14th, 2009 10:13 pm ET

Trish no one is saying christians should be perfect, the message "christians" are sending today is that everyone else should be perfect according to what "christians" define and anything "christians" do wrong is okay because they are "christian". What the heck is that? Delusions of persecution and punishment are troublesome. "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil" has been interpreted as "the fear of the Lord is to hate gay people, muslim people, liberal people".... basically anybody who doesn't go to church with you.

Chad   May 14th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

Being gay is not a choice. The bible also says it's a sin to eat shellfish. How many church picnics have there been that serve that up? You cannot take the bible was written many hundred years after Christ, and translated and interpreted many times. PLUS....there is a seperation of church and state for that reason. Religion should not factor into this at all!

Trina   May 14th, 2009 10:14 pm ET

I have to ask the question of how do people assume she is lying about the photos. Plenty of stars have walked the red carpet and not realized something was showing. The girl wanted to be a model and she was young and naive. Everyone treats her like she is a 40 year old woman with a lot of experience in life. Remember she is still a young woman with much to learn in life and to berate her and put her down for having faith is ridiculous. Allow the girl her beliefs and stop attacking her for them. If people are upset because she lied about her past, take a look in the mirror and count the lies on your face. Have you taught your children there really is a Santa Claus, because that is not a lie that you live with for about 8 years of their young life.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:16 pm ET

Trish. You are wrong... wrong... wrong... in everything

Chad   May 14th, 2009 10:17 pm ET

Trish, what if it had been her opinion that she doesn't like black people? Should she be allowed to say that on the air and keep her crown?

AWilO   May 14th, 2009 10:20 pm ET

She anwered the question HONESTLY. Would you have rather that she lied? What is wrong with her stating how she felt, hence her answer. Why is it wrong when one states their opinion against gay marrige. Where are our rights to disagree with it. It's like we have to agree or else.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Trina! She acts like a child... not a woman. Actually, she acts just like a drug addict. She is NOT willing to be responsible for her behaviors

Chad   May 14th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Do we worry, Trish, if the children of a mixed couple are ridiculed in school? This is a reason to be against gay marraige? AH...negative

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

I've been trying to find scientific proof that being gay is not a choice. Were is the gay gene?? Show me one unbiased article that has scientific to back it up. There were some studies in the 90's that were proven to be totally biased by a gay researcher and renounced by the scientific community. There are a lot of "it looks like" or "we think" but I don't see solid evidence anywhere. I started studying Evolution and I'm reading "The Selfish Gene" by Dawkins which is suppose to be the "current" bible of evolution. So far I can't even see how a gay gene could servive. It is acts against survival of the replicator.

GRAM IN LASVEGAS   May 14th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

Gay agenda and propoganda?
That is what this is all about and they tryed to blame it on Carrie it isnt going to work . There plan failed there 5 minutes is over.

Trish   May 14th, 2009 10:26 pm ET

Briana - I am a Christian. I don't expect anyone to be perfect according to my faith. The majority of my friends are not Christian. Fear of the Lord does not equal hating gay people, Muslims, etc. I don't hate gay people. Nor do I hate people who don't attend church. I do not, however, think anybody, regardless of what their religous beliefs are should be attacked because of an opinion based on their faith.

Trina   May 14th, 2009 10:27 pm ET

Dodie ~ California, she IS a child! She does not act like a drug addict, she acts like a young woman under a lot of pressure. When you were her age, assuming you are older, how would you have handled yourself and please do not lie and say you know exactly how you would handle yourself. People act like the girl shot a porn. She didn't authorize the release of the photos and young women have done much worse than Carrie trying to make it in to show business. Comparing her to a drug addict is ridiculous.

Trish   May 14th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

Chad - What do you mean, what if she said she didn't like black people? Carrie never said "I don't like gays." She said, respectfully, I might add, that she was raised a certain way and with that, in addition to her faith, it is her opinion that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

Well I hear Canada is on the road to the next stage:

Associated Press Story – Feb. 22, 2009

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Canada’s decision to legalize gay marriage has paved the way for polygamy to be legal as well, a defense lawyer said Wednesday as the two leaders of rival polygamous communities made their first court appearance.

The case is the first to test Canada’s polygamy laws.

Then Polygamized/Gay parties... bunch a duddes.... then.... then ....

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

@ Jerry Rutledge

We have already replicated way to much! We are currently genetically altering all our food because of too many people.

In a way, the gay couple may even save us all! They adopt the thrown away children that often come from christian homes. They do not populate.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:32 pm ET

Jerry... a hint. not everything that regulates us has to do with genes. It could be a neurotransmitter running down our neuropeptides. That has a lot to do with rage, hate, love... etc.

Vicky   May 14th, 2009 10:34 pm ET

I think the pictures is a deterrent from comments from Perez Hilton’s rudeness. This is another “Gay” propaganda without a doubt. I believe that Carrie Prejean hit a super sensitive nerve on Perez Hilton. Ouch!!!

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:36 pm ET

Trina. She does act just like a drug addict. She is NOT willing to be responsible for her behaviors. She has to make excuses.

I am NOT talking about what she said in the pageant. She has a right for her own beliefs. I am talking about her lying about breaking her contract by being involved with a special interest organization.

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 10:39 pm ET

Then am I to assume that there is not genetic imprint of this neurotransmitter and if that's the case when does it develop. I strongly believe that the first time a chile opens it's eyes and sees a mother and a father all kinds of development starts to take place. By 6 months they've probably discovered a lot of difference between their parents. And the programming continues.... whether good or bad.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

@ Jerry Rutledge

So whats the point?

My people have been getting married for more than 12,000 years, yes! 10,000 years before the bible was ever written.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 10:41 pm ET

Jerry... a neurotransmitter is a chemical. Not a gene...

john   May 14th, 2009 10:44 pm ET

i am so happy sumone has finaly spoke out againest gays and it took a women thank you, why are people so afraid of gays they due not have god on there side

Briana   May 14th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

Maybe not your personal beliefs but so many people are making money from using "christianity" as a label. It has come to my attention that gay people are simply scapegoated for everything. i watch billionare preachers explain societies ills as a result of tolerating non-believers. Yet I don't hear "christians" protesting these lies. I hear them complaining about US citizens wanting equality. It's a problem as old as the Bible. "Well, fiery volcanoes destroyed that city because people are gay" It would have been better for the writer to simply say, "I don't know where lava comes from" Too darn bad plate tectonics weren't taught when the text was canonized. I assume you know what I am talking about if you are a christian.
BTW, I don't recall even according to the Bible Jesus of Nazareth coming after gay people with a whip. Who did he confront so angrily?

Trina   May 14th, 2009 10:53 pm ET

Dodie ~ California, once again she is a young girl AND my nephews father is a drug addict and I see no correlation between the two behaviors. I don't know where you are getting your facts from, but you should know what you are talking about before you make accusations or comparisons. And Shanna Moakler aligning herself with the gay rights organization is not a contradiction? I am not against gay rights, but lets call a spade a spade. The girl was being attacked left and right. Did anyone ever consider the pressure the young girl was under and could alter good or bad judgement?

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 10:55 pm ET

I wasn't implying that a neurotransmitter was a gene. What in our genome determined who will have this neurotransmitter. If not what in our environment causes them.

Susan - Canada   May 14th, 2009 11:07 pm ET

Never have I seen a man so full of himself, as Donald Trump!!

Briana   May 14th, 2009 11:10 pm ET

Could she be under such pressure to be the most beautiful woman in the world, that being judged second could spur a neuro chemical response resulting in the perception of the voices of Satan and God in her head? Could James Dobson be building his empire without regard for Carrie Prejean's mental health and encouraging her to pursue a belief of voices in her head and the hedonistic idea that her beauty pageant results are so important that the creator of the Universe and his adversary, while ignoring Iraq and starving children, stop time to take up her cause of wearing a rhinestone crown for 6 more months? Could I be foisting my anger at religious nuts in general and my own experiences with them off on Carrie Prejean? Mebbe so. end of rant

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 11:11 pm ET

Jerry I watched what you placed on the Blog. Its taking some statistics and using that information making it fear based.

Christians wiped out my people. They exterminated them 400-500 years ago. So I don't care how many people are christian, muslim, or what ever. Actually there are more Buddhists in the world than all other religions put together.

The point being that we have far too many people on this planet. I have lived in both Europe and China. You have NO idea what it is like to live in a country the size of the USA with over 2 billion people in it. You stretch your arms and you smack someone in the face. Shopping malls are under ground. Housing is 12-55 stories high. No space, No room... And the pollution from all the people... UGH. Do you want us to live like that here??? It will happen if we continue. China has had a one child rule for 50 years. They still have over 2 billion people. By what you sent here on the blog, China should have NO people in the country. So what that you tube shows is fear tactics. Americans really are manipulated by fear tactics. We are still being used, abused and manipulated by fear tactics.

I am sure I have a bunch of typos in this... so just read through them

McMargie   May 14th, 2009 11:19 pm ET

If you ask me...everyone is making a mountain out of a couple of mole hills!

Jerry Rutledge   May 14th, 2009 11:20 pm ET

Thanks Dodie.... I'm probably the king of typos.

I agree with what you say. I think our fate is cast. The world will be Muslim and Buddhist in a very short time. As might as we consider the good ol' USA to be it's a mere blip in time. I've just recently revived my interest in evolution so I can try and understand what my children will inherit

Trina   May 14th, 2009 11:23 pm ET

No Briana, the pressure of her response becoming such a huge debate and the attacks she encountered for them. I could care lees about the pageant, I feel bad for the girl. I would not know how much of that stress I would be able to handle. Whether people like her answer or not, she is being attacked for stating she is a christian, attacked for her answer, attacked for being in a beauty pageant, and amongst other things. All I am saying is the girl has gone through a lot since the pageant and she held up better than most people would. So I don't believe she is a religious nut, or a hateful person. Anyone put in the spot light is under terrible scrutiny by all of America and I think it's time for people to put the claws away and back off of the girl.

Dodie ~ California   May 14th, 2009 11:53 pm ET

Jerry: Do not worry. christianity will never go away. It has been around longer than muslim. I have grandchildren. My biggest concern is that we will populate to the point that we will exterminate ourselves. Something like locus. We have a Veracious appetite and currently using up everything.

Dodie ~ California   May 15th, 2009 12:00 am ET

You said: Could she be under such pressure to be the most beautiful woman in the world, that being judged second could spur a neuro chemical response resulting in the perception of the voices of Satan and God in her head?

Actually that is exactly what happens to people who suffer from Schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder! Stress exacerbates the symptoms of god/satan in her head.

Dodie ~ California   May 15th, 2009 12:15 am ET

very touching about Farrah Fawcett! Anal Cancer! What a horrible disease.

Jobi   May 15th, 2009 12:16 am ET

To Dolores,

First of all it wasn't Paris Hilton who asked the question, it was PEREZ Hilton. Second, each contestant is asked a different question. The questions that are asked are pulled out of a bag, sight unseen by each contestant, so NO ONE knows who will get what question. Miss California is the one who pulled out that question. And third, and most important, she really isn't a christian now is she? Does a true christian lie, and lie again, pose topless, get breast implants and is comsumed with beauty? How about helping mankind is some actual helpful way than parading around in a bikini tryiing to become the "most beautiful". It doesn't get any shallower or un-christian than that!!!

Justin   May 15th, 2009 12:38 am ET

I wonder if she now knows how gays feel to be ridiculed for their beliefs, she is suppose to represent ALL of Americans, gay straight, black white, Christian, Jew.

Matthew   May 15th, 2009 12:39 am ET

I'm from Reno, Nevada. In 2007 Miss nevada lost her crown for the same thing as Miss california did. Is this A double standard?

Rhonda   May 15th, 2009 12:40 am ET

Donald Trump should stop looking at beauty and breasts and look at what pagents really stand for!

JOnathan   May 15th, 2009 12:40 am ET

Ms. Prejean is not a martyr, I am grateful.

Mr Trump and Perez Hilton were the winners, she'll be forgotten in a few weeks.

Ami   May 15th, 2009 12:44 am ET

I feel everyone is being too hard on ms. Prejean. Noone is perfect and Shanna has no business throwing stones..look back at her history. Ms. Prejean is a young beautiful woman, and will prevail..good luck to her!

Martin Garcia   May 15th, 2009 12:45 am ET

Ms. California says that she was persecuted for exercising her right to speak freely. By whom? People disagreed with her and practiced the same right. That is not persecution. That is living in a free country. Not to mention that her posing semi-nude is really what got her in trouble. Take responsibility for your dumb moves Ms. California. I guess Jesus doesn't have a problem with fake breasts and semi-nude lingerie photos. I'm glad he sent Ms. California here to show us the error of our ways.

candy   May 15th, 2009 12:47 am ET

Who does Shanna Moakler think she is! Id like someone to dig up skeletons in her closet because I bet she has lots. How DARE she JUDGE Miss. California!

ronda   May 15th, 2009 12:51 am ET

Our prayers and love goes out to Farrah and Ryan and Redmond and their families. Farrah has touched our lives for so many years. We love you Farrah. As far as we are concerned here in Ohio the deal with Miss Calif. is taking up air time that can be spent on more important issues. We would rather hear how Farrah is doing and her family as to the BS over Miss Calif.

w   May 15th, 2009 12:56 am ET

Moakler what kind of integrity are you displaying when photos are displayed of you getting into brawls at night clubs? Trump did the right thing. Moakler you should have been standing up for Miss California's freedon of speech – you are a hypocrite. Why is it okay for Moakler to act inappropriate and yet be a director for the pageant? Moakler is not a role model for our young woman and should never have been a part of the beauty pageant so good riddens to women like you. Moakler you could learn a lot from Miss CA – integrity, standing up for your beliefs, etc. The bottom line – Moakler is a left wing nut.

Jobi   May 15th, 2009 12:56 am ET

How do we know she's not lying about the photo shoot???? Are you serious? Look at the photos, she is POSING, there is NO wind blowing her hair, HELLO!!!! You also said she didn't authorize the photos release, now how do you know that??? Beacause she said so? Well, the photograher has a whole other story that Carrie. He said she DID pose for the photos AND authorized them. So, now its a he said, she said. I would bet my last dollar, the photog is correct. Why? Because Carrie lies. She lied about the photos in the first place with her contract, she is lying about the "wind". The reason she is being put down is not because of her having faith, its because she is a hypocrite. She 's a christian about gay marriage, but not a christian when she lies, doesn't honor her contract, doesn't accept responsibility for her actions (photos) and blames everyone (Perez, the gay community, the photographer, etc.........Newsflash for ya, TRUE christians DONT pose nude, get implants and lie. All she has to do is say she made serious judgment errors, and she is taking full responsibility and she is sorry. This would all be said and done with if she would just say that. Now, I hear more explicit pix and video is coming out. Ya cant be a christian in one area and not in another.

Suzanne Dawsey   May 15th, 2009 12:57 am ET

Give me a break! I enjoyed "The Apprentice" for years, but I keep seeing the same old Donald who changes the rules to fit his preferences. In the Miss USA Pageant, give him a pretty face and body and he can't help himself! Where is his objectivity? I do think Miss California was attacked without justification for her views on gay marriage, which she is entiled to,but the pictures were a whole new topic no matter where they originated. Apparently rules do not matter in the Miss USA pageant. If the "Trumpster" likes you, that's all that matters. I feel a lot of sympathy for the pageant officials trying to do their job and enforce the rules. How long are we going to blindly accept this man's ego???

windy   May 15th, 2009 12:59 am ET

This sends a bad message to all the young women who aspire to become Miss USA That it is OK to LIE and not be held accountable, and to keep liyng and get away with it, not good!!

Jobi   May 15th, 2009 1:01 am ET

Rob capp and
Martin Garcia,

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your posts!!!! Couldn't of said it better. TOTALLY agree with you both. Articulated perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!

Samuelberg   May 15th, 2009 1:02 am ET

What a bunch of hypocrites! Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both have the same view, but Carrie is blasted because she is Christian. LOL. I also like how Shanna "beach bottle blonde" Moakler says Carrie lied by joining a pro-marriage group for one appearance, Moakler made a PSA for a pro-gay group. Hypocrisy. Perez Hilton and the mean-spirited groups that blasted Carrie by calling her the "c-word" did gay marriage a disservice by polarizing the issue and driving most of the polls in favor of Carrie's viewpoint. Most liberal shooting themselves in the foot. Prop 8 was voted in because of the backlash against radical liberals that try to bully everyone into accepting their views. If you don't accept their views, you are instantly a bigot, racist and homophob.e. Many African Americans and Latinos voted Yes on 8 and they were torn apart by the gay & lesbian community and called names to boot. Such racism towards the African American and Latinos by the so-called compassionate liberals exposed even guessed it....hypocrisy.

Jobi   May 15th, 2009 1:04 am ET

Exactly HOW is Shanna judging Miss California???????????? I think you are getting judging mixed up with STATING THE FACTS!!!!!

Paula from Itasca, Illinois   May 15th, 2009 1:04 am ET

Come on who cares about the photos lets be real now!!! We have so many other problems to be solving, this whole thing has to do with the the gay rites organizations sponsor the pagent and because so many non believers, doesnt have to be Christian or what not non believers think they can put their opinions out there and it is gonna stick, unfortunately there are still alot of Carries out there she just stuck her neck out to speak it. God made adam and eve remember that and that is in black and white. Also we would have no population other wise so you dont have to be a genius to figuire out what is un-natural.

FURCOAT   May 15th, 2009 1:05 am ET

Larry I found it ironic that your panel, which included the recently resigned Director of the Pageant, Shana Mockler..and the others could not answer the very question that was posed to Miss California.
The hipocrisy in that amazes me. Here we have a young 21 year old who readily took a stance and answered a controversial question from the heart...yet 4 people sat on your panel on live TV and refused to give their stance on marriage and that same question. How cowardly is that? All of them should be ashamed.
Any subsequent attacks on her were brought out to tarnish her reputation, and the the photographer most certainly should be ashamed for participating in this type of slander agains this young girl who simply answered a question.
How mysterious that these pictures would surface well after she has been crowned Miss Calfornia..and not prior? With that said, this was simply a witch hunt set out to discredit and slander this poor girl, all because of her beliefs.

Vivienne   May 15th, 2009 1:09 am ET

Donald Trump made the right decision to let Carrie Prejean keep her crown. I commend Carrie for speaking honestly of her view on marriage. For Shanna and Keith to say that Carrie started to heat up the controversy ...That needs to be corrected!!! Perez Hilton went immediately on his blog and said completely HATEFUL things about her because he didn't like her answer. Perez heated up the debate and Shanna and Keith never mention that OR the Death threats Carrie has been getting. Clearly Shanna and Keith are personally upset because they believe in gay marriage and want to destroy Carrie because she doesn't believe as they do. Shanna even suggested at the end of the show that Carrie should have not directly answered the question as Carrie in her heart believed. Shanna and Keith are such hypocrites! They spin the issue to suit their obvious political beliefs and even worse drag Carrie throught the mud with their actions and speech. Shana, Keith AND Perez Hilton should be held accountable for their words and actions. They should all be fired!

McMargie   May 15th, 2009 1:12 am ET

All you men out careful a gust of wind doesn't blow your "manhood" out of your pants!

FURCOAT   May 15th, 2009 1:12 am ET

Shanna is a hipocrit. I am willing to bet she has no intentions on actually resigning. Did you not see how she snickered as the co-director mentioned that he would not ACCEPT her resignation.

Yep, when the smoke clears Shanna will be back. She is simply trying to garner some press as will as the limelight on this issue.
I laughed as Donald Trump mentioned that he had never really met her..and she just seemed sort of irrelevant to me , after hearing that.. DONALD is the decision maker..and he made the correct decision. She was careful NOT to challenge him, but yet she talks so BOLDLY about this poor little 21 year old. Move over for the young girls, Shanna. Carrie is both beautiful and intelligent.

Paula from Itasca, Illinois   May 15th, 2009 1:13 am ET

Brianna, I think you need to read the bible a little more Jesus never came with the whip but it does say from God, if a man lyes with another man or woman lye with another woman they will burn!!! That is scripture that is un-natural, you hate the sin not the sinner. So as you gay activist are allowed to have a voice us Christians also are allowed and we will be heard. I dont judge them its is they who will answer to God, but when someone wants to tell me I crazy for thinking the way I do, that I need to accept it because its the way of the world, well I dont live for the world I live in the world and I will speak my truth, it is a abomination, its un natural.

Mary Zell   May 15th, 2009 1:13 am ET

Regarding Prejean, I am amazed how you larry and your panel
tonight discount God. It is disgraceful and shows the lack of faith
in this country. God help us.

Who cares about the pictures. This is about a gay man trying to
discredit this young woman and her beliefs. God says that
the practicing homsexuals will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. I
repeat not inherit the kingdom of heaven. References from the
bible Romans 1:26-27 NIV. 1Corinthians 6:9 TLB.

However for Paris, if he asks for forgiveness he may be saved.
if he truely asks from the heart. He has to stop the obomination.

However, not one member on your panel is of faith. You laughed
at Carries faith. Why don't you bring on fair and balance to your
panel. You liberals want nothing but to destroy peoples lives. Thats
from Satan. God forgive you all!

KL   May 15th, 2009 1:17 am ET

According to her faith, Carrie said and did the right thing in that instance,
pageant rules or not. God often raises up people for such purposes, yet few obey after reaching a certain status. Thus God is with Carrie in this. Now, is she perfect? No! "No not one" still in her faith including all those finding fault in what she said about marriage.

Deanna   May 15th, 2009 1:24 am ET

Briana–loved your post, RIGHT ON!!

Vicky-Gay propaganda?? Please get your facts straight. The pix's didn't come from the gays, it came from a tabloid! Say your sorry Vic.

Vivienne   May 15th, 2009 1:26 am ET

I agree with Furcoat... Shana and Keith are so ugly in their hypocrisy. They are cowards when Larry King asked their stance on marriage because if they answered what they believed, they in their minds knew it would show their motivation of their hateful, biased treatment of Carrie Prejean. Carrie simply answered a question honestly from her heart and Shana and Keith dragged her through mud because they strongly disagreed with her views. Their are many in California that also believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. Don't they get to be represented? Shana and Keith are hateful and not respectful of opposing views and they hide behind their agenda and call Carrie all sorts of names to damage Carrie's reputation and credibility. Carrie never attacked Shana, Keith and Perez for what they believed and dragged their reputation and name through the mud. Shana, Keith and Perez should be held accountable for their actions!!!

Paula from Itasca, Illinois   May 15th, 2009 1:37 am ET

Wow, I am amazed of the people with faith here!!! That is awesome the problem is we need to speak louder!!! Like Carrie for all the reasons not just this one. We need to for our future, bring back old tradition and morals, have more families sit down for dinner together!!!!! Read the bible speak to our children about the commandments and God, this does not exist like it use too.
I also want to make a all those who love to say well if your a christian you should be doing this or you shouldnt act like this, well unfortunately we are all human everyone of us, and yes we Christians do make mistakes and do things we regret I said we are human not robots, but it is so easy to point us out because our belief in Christ must intimidate those who dont believe they use these little failures to point out.

FURCOAT   May 15th, 2009 1:37 am ET

KL, that is so true. Few obey, after reaching a certain status. How awesome that she obeyed and acknowledged God in doing so. These are her beliefs, and she is entitled to them.

The question that was posed to her is not an open end yes or no type of question. So ones answer will be a matter of OPPIONION.
I believe that Carrie struck a few nerves. Is Shanna gay?
She mentioned partner in one of her answers to Larry King tonight, and usually gays use that word, more often than married people.
I would have said , my spouse...or my friend.
So, it would be interesting to learn if Shanna is gay or not. IF one is not able to be open to others views ONLY because they are UNLIKE your own is very unprofessional. Perhaps Shanna should have resigned anyway.

Paula from Itasca, Illinois   May 15th, 2009 1:42 am ET

Deanna, you get your facts straight there would of been no pictures if Carrie answered the question the way all the gays wanted to hear and all those people who are the gay activists, so yes that is called propaganda!!!!!
Those pictures came out once the question was already answered!!
Those pictures only made surface because some people where very upset with her answer and wanted her off, and they needed to get her off leagaly. So lets use common sense.

FURCOAT   May 15th, 2009 1:44 am ET

AND yes, Marriage should be "between a man and a woman"!
Stand your ground Carrie.

I find it appalling to have to explain to my 8 year old and my teenager that Wanda Sikes has a "WIFE". How ridiculous. A wife is a how do you get around even explaining that.

Suzanne Dawsey   May 15th, 2009 2:08 am ET

Furcoat – Partner ... Wife ... what does it matter? I am gay and would not use the term "wife". But what does it matter? These are two people who are committed to each other and have been blessed with twins. Just tell your children that two women who love each other and are life partners chose to have and love their children. Kids are much more accepting and understanding than we give them credit for. Don't impose your doubts on a new generation.

Deanna   May 15th, 2009 2:15 am ET

Paula from Ilinois, Your all MIXED up there, honey. The reason the pix were released----FROM THE TABLOIDS,NOT THE GAYS--was because the tabloids love, love , love to stir things up, especially when someone like Carrie answered the question, not with her opion, no problem with that, it was the INARTICULATE way she DIDN't answer the question that piqued everyones attention. GO BACK and listen to Perez's question, she didn't answer it, and then the with her saying "in my country we can choose" (WE CANT!) and the whole thing about opposite marriage(????????????????????????????) that is what got people laughing at, and of course that added to her views against gay marriage percipitated the tabloids to go digging for those pix's. The woman is an idiot , a hypocrite and a liar and is deserving of everything she is getting, after all, she brought it ALL on herself. The pix WERE not gotten by the gays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Furcoat, how do you explain Wanda Sykes has a wife? Simple, tell them they are two people who love each other. Gays are here to stay, so they will have to hear about it somehow don't ya think? I will never understand how you anti-gays find it appalling. I have friends who are gay and they are the most loving, true christians around. How about accept what you cant change. I feel so sorry for ya all. What a waste of time to hate so much.

Jerry Rutledge   May 15th, 2009 2:55 am ET

Can you imagine what must have been going through Carrie's face to have Perez Hilton salivating, eyes gleaming with that loaded little question in his hand. She knew that the source of his pleasure was knowing that he would be able to manipulate the little girl from the Religious College into backing his vile gay agenda.

This was on national television, in front of all her College friends. She stumbled for a minute, that crown was so attractive, but then decided she couldn't go through with it for anything.

It's good that we still have one person with a little moral backbone who'll stand up to these degenerates.

janette tx   May 15th, 2009 3:30 am ET

liar liar bikini on fire!!!!

Stacey   May 15th, 2009 5:51 am ET

How can Carrie cry during her press conference when speaking of Constitutional Rights when her pageant answer was an obvious infringement on the of the first amendment rights of gays/lesbians? What a double standard! If she really cared so much about Constitutional Rights as she appears to in her press conference she would have answered differently during the pageant. What an act!

Anne   May 15th, 2009 6:49 am ET

Gay and lesbians were born the way they are! They cannot help it. What would you do if you were born gay or lesbian? Give them a chance please, Carrie! Carrie is not a role model for young girls. This is 2009! I didn't think Donald Trump could decide this controversial matter. Men are men ! Of course, we don't know the rules of the pageant but what I see on TV is not good and the title should be reconsidered.

Justin   May 15th, 2009 9:45 am ET

This is America home of the FREE, I went threw 8 yrs in the military to protect our Individual freedom, If people want their Faith based law pushed on everyone they can go and live under religious law in the middle east. We as Americans founded America to get way from religious persecution. People can choose what they want. I am not gay But I support Individual FREEDOM, that is why America is great. Mrs. Cali is suppose to represent all Americans, not just the religious freaks who want religious law. she got a boob job from the pageant, She lied about the pictures, she was under a contract. she should be fired for dishonesty. , not for her own beliefs. Everyone who is against individual rights are bigots and hypocrites.

John   May 15th, 2009 11:37 am ET

Let me out of this mess

Rose   May 15th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

Freedom of speech is one issue. Breach of contract due to non-disclosure and activities with another organization is another. Don't mix the two up. Prejean should have lost her title for breach of contract. Covering it up with "freedom of speech denied" cries is B.S.

Vicky   May 15th, 2009 1:22 pm ET

Rose – give Carrie a break for crying out loud. The Miss Calif. and Miss USA are the ones parading its contestants across the stage with HARDLY anything! In other words, "Do as I say, not as I do?", that's hypocritical. In addition, this is ALL but "Gay" PROPAGANDA!!!!

Rose   May 15th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Prejean gave a "Christian" reason for giving her answer. What is so "Christian" about her participation in parading around nearly naked – before or during the pageant? You can't have it both ways. In other words: use a religious definition of marriage by citing freedom of speech, but avoid religious definition of modesty when winning the Miss California title. Give me a break.

Vicky   May 15th, 2009 3:02 pm ET

Rose, let me guess, you are holier than "thou", of course. Don't let bikini's fool you, some women button up all the way up to the neck and live like the devil himself.

Rose   May 15th, 2009 3:31 pm ET

No, I'm not holier than thou. I just don't like double standards with the "use" of religion. I especially don't like the abuse of religion to limit others peoples rights. If Prejean gave a non-religious based reason as part of her "freedom of speech" her duplicity would not exist. But she did and her actions don't correlate with her talk. That's all.

Vicky   May 15th, 2009 3:50 pm ET

Rose – I agree that Carrie should have given a non-religious answer and yes, you are right, she is Miss Calif. representing everyone, whether gay, straight, or crooked. I just hope we are not struck with more surprises and move on. In my opinion, she is inexperienced and be given another chance.

Rose   May 15th, 2009 4:56 pm ET

What a beauty pageant contestant says doesn't really matter in the greater scheme of things. The problem is that it was such a "public" event watched by millions. It's turned into a circus as content and context got very mixed up. This situation highlights the need for being astute when speaking in such a forum. This doesn't mean dishonest.

– Supporters of free speech thought Prejean was denied
– Supporters of gay rights disagreed with her comments
– Supporters of contractual obligations said Prejean did not adher
– Supporters of traditional marriage acclaimed her
– Supporters of full rights for all Americans shunned her
– Supporters of feminism abhorred her participation
– Supporters of past pageant winners, who lost their title due to photos, stated "unfair" practice
– Supporters of Jesus admired her for defying Satan
– Supporters of secularism ridiculed her perception of this
– Supporters of modesty questioned her immodest appearance
– Supporters of honesty said she gave an honest answer
– Supporters of honesty said she lied about her previous photos
– Supporters of our veterans said she mis-spoke about their efforts
– Supporters of our veterans said they fought for all rights, not just religious rights
– Supporters of common sense said that Prejean's "talk & walk" don't add up

And this long list ends with those who simply think it was about freedom of speech – when it wasn't. Have a great weekend everyone!

Gail Withey   June 12th, 2009 9:15 pm ET

You are the best. We American's NEED more people like you who will stand up for what is right and not be afraid to do so. Doing and saying what others expect us to is what has gotten America to the place we are at...and that place is NOT good. I pray you continue to be a spokeswoman for America and keep up the great job.

Knowledge   June 12th, 2009 9:16 pm ET

When I take a stance against homosexuality, a behavior that has been punishable by death around the world for the last ten thousand years, and has only in the last 25 years have they began gaining acceptabilty is still what is always has been.
When I stand against it, I can use the bible to show that it is wrong. I can use the science of electricity to back me up. I can show from cultural anthropolgy that it is tolerated at best in most cultures, and I can use the animals kingdom to show it is a sick behavior.

What can homosexuals offer other than their opinion that this is a normal lifestyle?

Carrie should not lose her crown over all of the upoar. In the 1st place this is America & we have the right to speak our beliefs, providing it is not hurtful to others.I respect her for having the courage to stand for what she believes in.NOt something many people will do today for fear of losing or being ostracized. Also there are people out there who now may want to hear more of God's word.
