Governor Palin Statement on attacks against Carrie Prejean

May 13, 2009

The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable.

Carrie and I spoke soon after the attacks started; I can relate as a liberal target myself. What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what President Obama and Secretary Clinton believe – marriage is between a man and a woman.

I applaud Donald Trump for standing with Carrie during this time. And I respect Carrie for standing strong and staying true to herself, and for not letting those who disagree with her deny her protection under the nation's First Amendment Rights.

Our Constitution protects us all – not just those who agree with the far left.

- Governor Sarah Palin

No surprise here: We have Palin, a former beauty queen defending Prejean, a current beauty queen. Both women got their start by exploiting and sexualizing themselves (very unChristian). We have Palin, a right wing Christian who doesn't believe in gay rights defending Prejean, who is the same (she cited Christian beliefs for her pageant answer while participating in the unChristian event). We have Palin, whose well displayed ignorance on a number of subjects was covered up with the excuse of "politically motivated attacks" on her – the same for Prejean.

Perhaps Prejean should eventually change her name to Palin. She's headed down the same path of fudging her way through issues, thinking no one will notice her duplicity. They are both self-serving women who hide behind one issue to excuse the reality of another.

Again why do we care what Palin says. Fox network is paying big bucks for a book deal that will try and bring Palin to a different light. We all remember the interviews and the lack of knowledge she utters. All the covering up and excuses this book will bring will never erase the image most Americans have toward her. The few that are blind to her might read it but it is a cover up excuse book. I will not read it or pay a dime for it, however I hope she does run in the next election to see her fall again. Palin needs to wait until 2016 because Obama has 8 years in office. She might have a chance then, GOD help us.

Oh brother!   May 14th, 2009 4:33 pm ET

Who cares?

Dave of Detroit   May 14th, 2009 4:34 pm ET

Now we have a Conservative and Liberal Beauty Pageant-This is going to be tough as I am an Independent...My Conservative side backs the two piece Bikini but the Liberal side tends toward the one piece Bikini that showed up later....I am totally flabberghasted by the unending rhetoric going on-When did Pelosi know this, will Cheney get his records from the CIA, will Spiderman ever get to keep his mask on? it never ends! Here's a real breakthrough-Torture is not the problem, the problem is, who was supposed to oversee the torture to make sure it didn't become manslaughter? Same problem with the FEMA director and runaway Interior Department. President Bush has a real knack for appointing people to oversee a program that are either incompetent or misplaced out of their field of expertise. Basically, they don't have a clue and people die from their ignorance. That goes for the lady Military Officer pointing to naked POW genitals for all the world to see. Her shame is our shame!

Michael C. McHugh   May 14th, 2009 4:42 pm ET

Both of them are just trying to milk this silly situation for whatever political and economic advantage they can get out of it. When in American history did any question ever asked and answered at a beauty pageant have the slightest significance? Who even remembers them? This is just the Republicans playing their usual wedge issues and cultural politics–trying to think up some issue, any issue, to attack Obama and the Democrats with, no matter how ridiculous.

Mrs Palin- you obviously have us confused with someone who gives a s*** what you think.

Pietro Sirianni   May 14th, 2009 5:51 pm ET

She's just promoting her upcoming book, "Moose Chili and Politics."

SLM   May 14th, 2009 6:48 pm ET

Glad to see Palin defend her, it's a lonely world when you stand up for what you believe in. Too bad the tolerance demanded by Gay rights activists is not practiced by them as well.

Rudolph Ashman   May 14th, 2009 7:53 pm ET

Larry, This has to do with the suitability of Crystal Palin to carry the message of abstenance until you are ready and matured for the responsibilities that can follow. We become so taken up with the messemger that we miss the message.
There is a clear distinction betwwen an issue and a personality, Lets see how many youngsters we can stear in the right path

Rudolph Ashman   May 14th, 2009 8:01 pm ET

Congratulations to miss California for the stand she has taken. What I find distasteful of most of the gay/lesbian population is that they expect us straight people to accept their action and they do not at the same time respect our right to hold on to whst we believe.
It therefore makes me believe they are seeking acceptance for what they themselves consider wrong.
Please give us a chance they seem to say
On the issue of dont ask dont tell i believe gays should be allowed in the military on one condition they are placed in the frontline of duty as a non comissioned soldier

Andres   May 14th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

Another religious fanatic.... Thanks to her we have Obama in the White House!!!

rudy   May 14th, 2009 10:23 pm ET

These two women would make a perfect couple. They're both idiots. This message is for Ms. Prejean. You were criticized for good reason. You gave an untrue answer about living in a country where everyone can choose gay or straight marriage. That is false. The federal government doesn't recognize any gay marriages. Most states do not either. You then said gays shouldn't not have equal marriage rights. You then aligned yourself with an organization dedicated to outlawing gay marriages everywhere, including states where it is legal. You also said you felt Satan was asking you questions at the Pageant. You are an idiot!!!!! And if you had said something about blacks not deserving equal rights you would have been fired immediately. It's too bad gays are now the minority group anyone can bash and get away with it.

Debbie – Good to see you on line again but Shame on you! Don't take the negative comments of most bloggers on this site to mean that most Americans agree with you. Any of our illustrious cable news networks are biased in one direction or another. Go to Fox and you will see that the people are just as angry as you are but you shouldn't take everything the Bush Administration did the last year and carry your anger over to everyone of the opposite opinion as you have. I am really happy with President Obama and how he is handling the job so far but I also strongly believe that John McCain and Sarah Palin are good, well intentioned people who simply express an opinion which so many on here are opposed to. I would like to interject (although I fully expect most her to tell me to take a long walk off a short pier – and those would be the nicer ones) that is past time to get on with life and not let your hatred for the last eight years eat away at you so long. It wasn't so long ago that conservative republicans treated President Bill Clinton in a similar fashion and folks of the more liberal persuasion were terribly upset over the unfairness of it all.

I know that you enjoy this site and are one a several regulars and I don't want to take away from your fun but I just have to say "Naughty, Naughty" Keep saying what you think but please allow others to have a different opinion and to be able to express it with the same freedom all of us have.

Other than that, it is good to see you. I saw you in another subject recently and still remember the good old discussion and how we worked our way through our differences. I hope you are well and I know you will continue to enjoy the exchanges here. I guess I just wish we could get past the last election and settle down to the fact that President Obama is the winner and our new leader. Lets support him and try to put all the anger and for some outright hatred behind us because they are already trying to tear President Obama down. Our job not to let them.

Buena Serra e felice giorno domanni! Not sure how good my Italian spelling is as we don't get many opportunities to speak with our Italian friends here in San Antonio. Ciao!

Don't knock Sarah Palin-she is unique! She is the only Republican that has the Oil Company's doing her bidding not the other way around. John Boehner forsook his break over of-shore drilling, even McCain was doting on the oill drilling as a longtime Republican that knows the way oil flows is the way his political career flows. But, and this is a huge But, Sarah Palin has every resident in the State of Alaska getting something like $3500 annually from the oil companies for getting to drain their resources. Top that if you can!

Christine   May 15th, 2009 3:56 pm ET

SLM that makes sense. I thought that the "Liberals" were known for their tolerance? Afterall don't we live in a "free" country.

debbie   May 15th, 2009 4:21 pm ET

John you know the love I have for Palin, and please more are on my side than the other. What does it take to reveal an idiot to you. Palin wins she can go shopping more but safety wise we will be screwed. Why would anyone believe a word Palin says, everything she does is for her benefit. We need brains in the White House not plastic boobs. Wink Wink.

Prejean-Miss Hypocrite
Carrie Prejean, the Miss California contestant, was correct about homosexuality! It is mortal filth
and condemned by God's Word...but Prejean poses semi nude and topless EXPOSING HER
BREASTS and revealing the bottom of her buttocks...then lied about it...and then she parades
her body around in the Miss California Pageant EXPOSING HER PARTIAL BREASTS and
buttocks in a sexual immoral swimsuit before the world! She is 100% a HYPOCRITE and
she does NOT represent Jesus Christ nor a Christian!!
Jesus said it this way, "Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery
with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better
for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into Hell." [Mt. 5:28,29]
