Kirstie Alley tells Oprah Winfrey she'll battle ballooning weight and get her bikini body back

Yo-yo dieter Kirstie Alley's determined to reclaim that bikini-worthy bod she strutted just two years ago, telling Oprah Winfrey she intends to shed 80 pounds by November – and blaming her newly pudgy shape on a lack of motivation.

The 58-year old ex-Cheers actress's highly publicized chronic battle against obesity is far from unique. "About 95 percent of people regain the weight they have lost in less than a year," says psychotherapist Stefanie Barthmare of the Methodist Weight Management Center in Houston.

Good Luck to Kristie....Over-eaters have addictive personalities and you have to fight it every day...just like an addict or an alcoholic...

This is just another of her publicity stunt to get her job back at Jenny Craig. She should get a real acting job. Oprah dedicated the entire show to this fat woman complaining about her weight again and again. Just go live in a poor country for a year and eat what they eat.

I hope the public can see that this is a publicity stunt! She said on Oprah she ( Kristie) is coming out with her own weightloss plan and products! Kristie said she is sorry I don't buy it,I think she's cashing in on her being overweight

How our clothes fit are a big indicatior on weight gain besides weighing ourselves. I weigh myself at most twice a month but when my pants get too tight or summer clothes don't button at all – that's a clue – don't buy new clothes – work to get the weight off so those clothes fit again.
