Ann Coulter – MUSLIMS: 'WE DO THAT ON FIRST DATES'

Posted: 12:03 AM ET

Note: Ann Coulter will be on Larry King Live Friday

Without any pretense of an argument, which liberals are neurologically incapable of, the mainstream media are now asserting that our wussy interrogation techniques at Guantanamo constituted "torture" and have irreparably harmed America's image abroad.storyvertcoulteredgi

Only the second of those alleged facts is true: The president's release of the Department of Justice interrogation memos undoubtedly hurt America's image abroad, as we are snickered at in capitals around the world, where they know what real torture is. The Arabs surely view these memos as a pack of lies. What about the pills Americans have to turn us gay?

The techniques used against the most stalwart al-Qaida members, such as Abu Zubaydah, included one terrifying procedure referred to as "the attention grasp." As described in horrifying detail in the Justice Department memo, the "attention grasp" consisted of:

"(G)rasping the individual with both hands, one hand on each side of the collar opening, in a controlled and quick motion. In the same motion as the grasp, the individual is drawn toward the interrogator."

The end.

There are rumors that Dick "Darth Vader" Cheney wanted to take away the interrogators' Altoids before they administered "the grasp," but Department of Justice lawyers deemed this too cruel.

And that's not all! As the torments were gradually increased, next up the interrogation ladder came "walling." This involves pushing the terrorist against a flexible wall, during which his "head and neck are supported with a rolled hood or towel that provides a C-collar effect to prevent whiplash."

People pay to have a lot rougher stuff done to them at Six Flags Great Adventure. Indeed, with plastic walls and soft neck collars, "walling" may be the world's first method of "torture" in which all the implements were made by Fisher-Price.

Larry, I do not like being so opinionated about a person; however,
Ann Coulter is irritating as well as Egodystonic!

Here are a couple of Ann Coulter’s famous quotes:

1. “The swing voters — I like to refer to them as the idiot voters because they don’t have set philosophical principles. You’re either a liberal or you’re a conservative if you have an IQ above a toaster.”
2. “We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity.”
3. “Whether they are defending the Soviet Union or bleating for Saddam Hussein, liberals are always against America. They are either traitors or idiots.”
------
With quotes like this, you make Christianity sound very dangerous and demented!

Ann, Are you ever able to express yourself without being obnoxious and calling people names?

Do you ever think before you open your repugnant mouth? Everything you say has a virulent element to it.

Ann Coulter, you are an epitome of criticism and disaster.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 3:06 am ET

Ann:
Your statement “The president’s release of the Department of Justice interrogation memos undoubtedly hurt America’s image abroad, as we are snickered at in capitals around the world, where they know what real torture is.”

The release of DOJ interrogation, only allowed Americans to see what the rest of the world already knows. You actually believe the world did not know our tactics? If you think that, you are truly retarded!

hugh ~ california   May 1st, 2009 3:33 am ET

Sorry Larry, but I must become repetitious!

Please! No more Ann Coulter. That woman is not a lady, but she is so much more! She's much too much more. The more I read or hear Ann Coulter’s words, the more I like her less. Actually I don’t like her at all. Ann must be one of the lost daughters of Satan disguised as our "New-Age" Christian Crusader fighting the Good fight against the Anti-Christ and all those under the control of the Evil One.

“Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing” The Man said. Well, even if you or I don’t believe in the hereafter, I know what Ann’s here after–your soul! "Come over to the dark side, you lost silly Americans."

Tony   May 1st, 2009 7:14 am ET

I just have one question. If Al Qaeda put out a half hour video tomorrow of them and a captured marine where they subjected him to sleep deprivation, stress positions, nudity and humiliation, waterboarding etc., would you really have the courage to say these were just 'wussy interrogation techniques'? I doubt it.

And that's not even mentioning some of the cases in Bagram and Abu'Ghraib where people whose links to terrorism were questionable at best were beaten and killed.

You would do yourself a service to save your comments for those at the RNC fundraisers who think just like you do because all you really accomplish with blogs like this is to make yourself sound like a crazy woman.

len   May 1st, 2009 8:01 am ET

if you sit and wonder why some people in other (not all) countries dont like americans look no farther than ANN COULTER.as a canadian i know many americans and i do know that we are basiclly the same.and most canadians see america as a friend and neighbor and an important trading partner and ally,as do i.as it is now we are shoulder to shoulder in afganistan, not to mention hockey.but as a canadian i have a small bit of advice for dear ole ann;; better to have people think you are a complete idiot and moron,,,,then to open your mouth and remove any doubt!!

len   May 1st, 2009 8:29 am ET

where do they come from?the ann coulters of the world?here you have an obviously moronic commentator representing american culture.like it or not,,,some people out there think she speaks for america,is paid by the government to say the things she says.people in foreign countries are not aware of american free speech laws, and if they see someone on CNN talking, they believe its got to be government sponsored.this lady is a danger to americans, people overseas may not know about american political satireists or your politics in general,,,,,but they understand the english language,,and they will ask themselves,,is this how the american people and government really feel about other cultures?? the best thing you can do right now is can that lunitic idiot from cnn, before she runs for office

Ted   May 1st, 2009 8:43 am ET

After WWII all Nazis, Gestapo, SS, Judges and other members of that killing machine they created in Germany had one excuse and said unisolo: we were just following orders. We still hanged a few hundred of them, so did the Sovjets.
Mr. Obama´s excuse for not prosecuting the creators of waterboarding; "they followed the legal rules at that time"! So did the Nazis! I certainly feel Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and other hideous crimes commited by the CIA and members of our Armed Forces should be completely cleared, the quilty punished and we should make clear to the world that that is not we stand for!
We should not preach to anyone until we wash our own sins away.
By the way Ann, I am proud to be a liberal, have a very high IQ, never follow party lines, but look at the person I am voting for.

len   May 1st, 2009 8:55 am ET

@ted,,,i seriously doubt she will get that,,ann has an unbelievable talent at completely blocking common sense from conversation.

len   May 1st, 2009 9:24 am ET

i wonder how ann would feel if she was the third wife of a taleban soldier?i could almost watch that,,,a slight blonde being whipped and kicked, beaten with an AK47 rifle butt, and told to cover up and go in the tent and shut up,,,how about it ann?care to visit a taleban camp,,huh?aw c'mon,,,why not,?,,, scardie cat????

Dave of Detroit   May 1st, 2009 9:36 am ET

P.S. I have wriiten O'Reilly and other defenders of the "Hugging without Altoids" torture and asked why the picture of the lady army officer at Abu Grahib Prison pointing to the genitalia of naked men prisoners huddling in fear didn't make the cover of Newsweek? It sure got the world's attention! Here's a thought from Leno-We have a Constitution for a reason, we have International Law for a reason, we have the Geneva Convention for a reason and we have 16 dead POW's that were tortured to death and waterboarded for 183 times because the truth behind those reasons were ignored-sorry Ann, but nobody is above the law!

len   May 1st, 2009 9:59 am ET

c'mon ann???wouldn't you love a sunday afternoon in the compound with the other wives?watching the other woman you dont like there get be-headed,thats right up you ally,,,,,desparate taleban housewives.

Pietro Sirianni   May 1st, 2009 10:55 am ET

Larry,
Please no more right wing political shock jocks.
They know nothing more about politics than what they read in the head-lines.
Their greed and self-interest has ruined the republicant party.
These people are not to be taken seriously, they are for entertainment only; a circus side-show.

Glo   May 1st, 2009 10:57 am ET

Larry - I am also very sick and tired of watching Ann Coulter spew venom. She is a disgusting and unamerican woman whose constant venomous mouth can and will hurt america's image abroad. We are trying to rebuild our image and she is given the opportunity by the press to spew her sickening mouth all over the world. Please stop having her on your show as I respect you as an honest host. I'm sure there are other guests that would provide more interesting conversation. Let Hannity have Ann exclusively. They both have razor sharp mouths and together they won't take up more TV viewer time if they are both on the same show.

Pietro Sirianni   May 1st, 2009 11:37 am ET

Its amazing how Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, etc. would ruin the party that gave them life just to make a few bucks while the getting is good. Ironic that the party that preaches unbridled, unregulated capitalism is being undone by its own principals at the hands of its own disciples.
Please we've had enough of these children, they've made their money. Enough already.

simonsays/Orlando   May 1st, 2009 12:42 pm ET

If torturing these lunatics saves one American life, I say hook up the battery cables, red is positive, green is negative, and don't forget to throw a bucket of water on them. Does anybody remember 9/11? Does anybody remember what they did to Daniel Pearl?

hugh ~ california   May 1st, 2009 1:25 pm ET

@ "Have a GAY day America" Dave Dawson,

Are you a "closet homosexual" living in denial?

"Are you happy and gay, or are you just gay and happy?"

"Have a Gay day" Dave!

Rich   May 1st, 2009 2:35 pm ET

No, No, No......Hasn't this girl had enough of her "self-promoting" just to sell books? Anyone who takes this agitator seriously after saying "the widows of 9/11 were happy their husbands died" has got to be out of their minds.

Ann, please find a man who can stomach you and have little neocons together. You can live happily ever after in Alaska with the Palins.

Pietro Sirianni   May 1st, 2009 4:08 pm ET

Rich,
F.Y.I.
Ann is not really a woman.

Dave of Detroit   May 1st, 2009 6:19 pm ET

I just have one question-If 16 men died of torture without trial, was it done by the same interrogation team or random? The reason for the question is that I wonder if we have a serial killer on staff that has creatively found a way to get away with murder! Now I realize that Federal Employees, especially in the CIA, are above such tendencies but one or two could be accidental and possibly excused by their supervision but 16 is kind of a high number especially when you consider that Police Officers are put on desk jobs and thoroughly investigated after just one killing. The ancient Romans who were extremely good at butchering had a saying-Who watches the watchers? I am asking the same question!

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 8:28 pm ET

@ Pietro Sirianni ( lol )

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 8:34 pm ET

Ann the man said: "our wussy interrogation techniques at Guantanamo constituted “torture”

I only hope that you experience the same treatment you emphatically state is NOT torture and see if you change your tune! It would be my pleasure to help you see the 'light'

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:07 pm ET

Ann, you have no idea what normal is..... That is obvious by what comes out of your repugnant mouth

Nancy   May 1st, 2009 9:11 pm ET

Thank you Ann Coulter for standing up to Behar.
Ann is right on and knows her stuff.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:11 pm ET

can someone make this woman shut up??????

Linda   May 1st, 2009 9:12 pm ET

Ann Coulter is a complete loud-mouth blow-hard. She has free speech, and she uses it to personify the thinking that had pushed me from the Republican Party after over 30 years. She makes a lot of money from being obnoxious, a talent she has to excess. Does she ever think being constructive might be a better idea?

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:13 pm ET

I'm going to get Cindy McCain to give her a good whipping

Nancy   May 1st, 2009 9:15 pm ET

Ann Coulter stands up for America. America first.

Henry Benavidez   May 1st, 2009 9:17 pm ET

I continue to be shocked to hear it was ok to torture suspects to gather information. Not only have we been repeatedly told in the past these practices were happening, but we also know medical doctors were present at times. If you need a doctor because of the chance of serious injury or death, if not torture, then what would these folks call it? I don’t care what the circumstances, breaking treaties, international law, or our own laws when it serves our needs should never be acceptable. We are constantly calling foul when other countries break treaties and international law, but why does this happen when we offend so often?

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:18 pm ET

Linda: i think she makes a good couple with Rush Linbaugh. can you imagine those two married and Republicans????The odd couple!!!!

valerie jackson   May 1st, 2009 9:21 pm ET

does this women ever answer a question completely

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:21 pm ET

Larry, good luck in finding anything positive about Ann. At least she has the uncanny ability to irritate and insult everyone. I guess she is not prejudiced since everyone is upset with her.

TC   May 1st, 2009 9:23 pm ET

Ann, so sorry to hear about the passing of your lovely mother. You are great, I am a big admirer of yours. Must be really yukky to have to be on the show with old Big Mouth!! Keep up the great work, Ann. TC

Lola   May 1st, 2009 9:23 pm ET

Ann Coulter rocks! She makes Larry's stand-in look extremely dumb.

Barbara Thomas   May 1st, 2009 9:23 pm ET

No one seems to remember 911. I know I felt that we should do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of our country fron these lunatics.

Sara Weiland   May 1st, 2009 9:23 pm ET

Why do Ann and Hannity have to try water-boarding!! They are not terrorists! If you are being water-boarded then chances are you have done something to deserve it. Why are we feeling sorry for terrorists and attacking americans!!!

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:23 pm ET

@ Haydee

ROLF Ann and Rush... There would be NO piece and quiet in that household! They would end up strangling each other in order to shoot off their repugnant mouths.....

Richard Fisher   May 1st, 2009 9:24 pm ET

i am a military member and would love to give my veiw on torture to those people who are for it..

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:25 pm ET

Ann does NOT like anyone but herself!!!

Debra   May 1st, 2009 9:25 pm ET

Ann – I love your quick wit – you're the best!

jamie   May 1st, 2009 9:27 pm ET

ann is as fake as her blonde hair and laugh.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:27 pm ET

Ann, you said: We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity.”

With quotes like this, you make Christianity sound very dangerous and demented!

SteveC   May 1st, 2009 9:27 pm ET

I love Ann and her opinions!!! She is right on!

dabu   May 1st, 2009 9:28 pm ET

Ann Coulter doesn"t have a clue what actually happened when these so called terrorists got torchered. What if her brother, mother or child were among those people i doubt she would be talking the way she is this is just for publicity.

Debra   May 1st, 2009 9:28 pm ET

Ann – you are too classy for "The View" – please don't go on there again.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:30 pm ET

Ann... you DO have a wonderful gift. I know how to irritate intelligent and well educated people... on second though, you know how to irritate almost everyone except for a few demented people...

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:31 pm ET

Ann, you just got a new friend: MISS CALIFORNIA.....YEAHHH

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:32 pm ET

Ann......Do you ever think before you open your repugnant mouth? Everything you say has a virulent element to it.

Ann Coulter, you are an epitome of criticism and disaster.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:32 pm ET

Now you can look pretty next to her Ann.do you think????

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:34 pm ET

@ dodie: you are absolutely right about that!!!!!!

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:35 pm ET

dodie: you are absolutely right about that!!!!!!

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:35 pm ET

How do you know God wrote the bible??? Because someone tells you so??? Where are the independent thinkers these days??? Did God come down and touch you on the shoulder and tell you it wrote the bible???

That is circular and irrational reasoning. I know because I know...

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:37 pm ET

@ Haydee

You gotta admit. She does have a gift... She knows how to irritate everyone except for a few demented people...

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:37 pm ET

what is her question again??? they keep on yelling at each other i could not hear the question.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:41 pm ET

Dodie: yes, she will get along very well with the RNC president, I forgot his ugly name.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:41 pm ET

EXCUSE ME… My people were married 12 thousand years ago. 10 thousand years before the bible was written. Why do you think you have the controlling interest and right to marriage.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:42 pm ET

Haydee. You mean Rush L. (lol ) Now that would be a marriage to write about...

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:43 pm ET

Awe, how sad he died. He was very tallented

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 9:44 pm ET

@Tony et al – (that means all you other libs)
Really? You want to equivocate what we do to glean information from terrorist jihadists with what Al Qaeda does to captured soldiers and innocent civilians? We've seen Al Qaeda's interrogation handbook–and it is torture! Drilling through someone's hand, using a spoon to gouge out eye's...and then finally have your head sawed off in front of a camera with a dirty knife. They do this because they hate us. Not because were there, but because they are taught to.

Ann's right–what's found in these memos is laughable. Put your hatred aside and open your minds. You claim to be the most tolerant, yet are the most rabid toward any who disagree with your point of view.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:44 pm ET

Dodie: his huge ego will dominate her skinny behind, what do you think???he think he's a teddy bear(lol)

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:46 pm ET

Haydee... I think they would end up strangling each other out of frustration because both have a big mouth and neither knows how to listen!!! It would be a very short marriage....

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:51 pm ET

very likely sleep apnea too him.so young still and handsome SOB.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 9:52 pm ET

@ Andy – Ocala, FL

Unless you were there... You have NO idea what happened. You take what you read or what you hear from the media and make it gospel! That is always dangerous

nichole   May 1st, 2009 9:55 pm ET

Why are these people stating that her opinion "cost her the crown" why not listen to her elementary answer, the way she stumbled, and how she used the term "opposite marriage"-what they think sh should have won because she has the same closed mind, right wing, iggnorant opinions as they do?!

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 9:55 pm ET

Dodie, well he is an expert in divorces, his last wife lasted less than a month. Poor Ann, she can only get someone like her and not too many republicans around anymore, The party is in extinction.

nichole   May 1st, 2009 9:56 pm ET

Why are these people stating that her opinion "cost her the crown" why not listen to her elementary answer, the way she stumbled, and how she used the term "opposite marriage"-what they think sh should have won because she has the same closed mind, right wing, iggnorant opinions as they do?!?

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:01 pm ET

she always does. I love her very much. You go Joy!!!!!!

Debra   May 1st, 2009 10:08 pm ET

I can't believe all the kool-aid drinkers on here. I did notice CNN never posted any positive comments about Ann to represent both sides. Of course fair and balanced isn't something you associate with this network.

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 10:08 pm ET

@Dodie

We know Al Qaeda's interrogation techniques. They have none. They torture. We found their manual. We also know what we did to the terrorists at Gitmo. Part of it is in the released memos. You yourself are outraged by what's in them, even though it's not torture. Obama only released a few pages....what's in the docs he did not release? On what he did release though, all the precautionary debating about what to do in the interrogations leads me to believe that appropriate measures were taken for the jihaist's safety. And we got the information from them that prevented other attacks. Or did we? Obama won't release it all. Why? Because the truth that our humane methods worked is in them!

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:08 pm ET

my kool aid is red.

Debra   May 1st, 2009 10:11 pm ET

Your kool aid is red? Isn't that the same color we associate with communism?

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:13 pm ET

yes but i'm not communist, i am independent and lean to the left. i drank kool aid for 8 years. bad taste left.

Debra   May 1st, 2009 10:16 pm ET

I wouldn't know – I never drank it.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:17 pm ET

we all did, now is blue.

Debra   May 1st, 2009 10:19 pm ET

They explains why when I watch the news – I feel "blue".

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

sorry you feel that way.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:22 pm ET

sorry you feel that way

Debra   May 1st, 2009 10:23 pm ET

I'm glad you feel my pain.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 10:23 pm ET

@! Andy – Ocala, FL

A terrorist group having a manual??? You really believe that? You amaze me with your ........ innocence. I have worked for DOD, I know better… You cannot even imagine what we do. We are probably the sneakiest country in the world. It always amazes me what Americans believe.

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 10:28 pm ET

@Dodie

Right. I'm sure you did (worked for the DOD). Guess that was propaganda (the manual) from Cheney right? Foolish innocent me.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 10:33 pm ET

Andy!

You called yourself Foolish. I did not. You actually believed Cheney, who was the CEO of Haliburtin and made billions off tax payers. You really amaze me.

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 10:33 pm ET

Guess all those training camp videos was Cheney's idea too? Huh Dodie?

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:35 pm ET

Americans ought to leave them alone if we want to survive as a nation. Leave them alone.
My honest opinion. no more torture.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 10:36 pm ET

Andy-

Until you live near the middle east for 3 years and work for DOD, you have no idea what the USA is capable of. Believe it or not, it even amazed me. That experience certainly opened my eyes to my own country. I understand now why people of other countries hate us so much.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 10:46 pm ET

Andy !

I am not advocating that we should never torture, and in dealing with Al Qaeda’s interrogation techniques we need to either be like them and behead whom we think is dangerous or we act like the rest of the world and abide by the Geneva convention. If my son's life depended on my ability to torture, you better believe I could.

But we always need to look carefully. Can you imagine living in Baghdad and you have your family and business... Along comes the USA in 1990 and bombs the city, killing your parents and business. You are angry with the USA but you rebuild your business and family. Then in 2002 the USA bombs Baghdad again, and now the USA kills your children and wife. Do you think you could be a suicide bomber??? I think we made many of them just through this process....

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 10:46 pm ET

@Haydee
It's not torture.

@Dodie
Don't tell me what qualifications I need to have an opinion. You don't know who I am or what I have done. I don't share the opinion that people hate us around the world. I do know what the USA is capable and I'm glad you refer to it as your country (and have consistently done so in your posts). We do not cause the hatred directed to us from countries in the ME though.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 10:51 pm ET

Hydee,

Yes, you are correct! We need to leave them alone....

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:53 pm ET

"confessions of an economic hitmat" read a little of that book and see why the US is in so much trouble around the globe.

Andy: if is not torture then explain me what it is because "Enhance interrogation" doesn't sound right.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 10:54 pm ET

@ Andy

You are correct. I do not know your qualifications or who you are. You just need to live as a civilian in the middle east.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 10:56 pm ET

Respect to other people's rights is PEACE........Benito Juarez.

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 10:56 pm ET

@Dodie

Do you believe they would leave us alone? I think this premise is faulty though to begin with. I think it implies we started the fight.

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 11:04 pm ET

@Haydee

It's not torture. And it really isn't "enhanced interrogation" either. Read the memos, these jihaists were never in any bit of danger.

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 11:04 pm ET

@ Andy

At this point in time, I doubt they would leave us alone. We have pissed off too many people over the years. There is also a religious component to it. Christian vs Muslim. I also see it as a good way for this country or certain people in this country to make a lot of money. Iraq really smacks of the Vietnam war for me.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 11:12 pm ET

O k Andy if you say so...it's not torture, it's just.....Talk or you will drown, no,I will drown you. Hmmmm
nite Andy.

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 11:17 pm ET

@Dodie
Your right, there is a huge religious component to it. But, if you think at this point you doubt they will leave us alone, then we do, in fact, need to do something to end it, regardless of what that is. Could be talk. I disagree with the Vietnam analogy though, completely different. In my opinion, not even close in reason and tactics.

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 11:22 pm ET

@Haydee
It's just that a judge sentenced a man yesterday to life in jail for throwing his 4 children off a bridge 80 feet to their deaths, and he also required, as reported by ABCNEWS radio, that he be shown their pictures every day. Now, let me say, I agree with the sentence, but that is torture. More so than making jihadists think the are going to drown. Yet, no outrage anywhere.

Good subjects here tonite, i have to work in am, good nite everyone.
no hard feelings, we are all entitled to our opinion, That's the beauty of this country.Do you agree??

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 1st, 2009 11:35 pm ET

@ Andy – Ocala, FL

We supposedly entered both wars to protect America. In Vietnam, what was found was..... many companies made a lot of money from the war. What we learned as a country is that we need a good reason to enter war… hence 9/11. Also we learned is to have troops go to war as a group, not individually. There is no DEROS in the Iraq war. But we went to war in Iraq because of “weapons of mass destruction” from Bush’s mouth. Even though the UN said Iraq had no viable weapons of mass destruction. At that point, we should have let the UN carry on. But Bush and Cheney, who was CEO of Halliburton pushed for the war in Iraq when Al Qaeda’s gang was well known to be in Afghan, and possibly Pakistan. Why did we send a few people who were family members to some of Al Qaeda out of this country within days after 9/11? Why did we evade Iraq instead of Afghan. When we knew Al Qaeda’s stronghold was there?

Good night. enjoyed talking with you...

I never believe just American news. I do not think they are purposely lying to me... they just do not know all the facts and are often given a slant for the American people's best interest. I also listen to CCTV from China and the BBC from Great Britain. I get a much more realistic perspective that way.

Haydee   May 1st, 2009 11:42 pm ET

until Monday Dodie and Andy

Andy - Ocala, FL   May 1st, 2009 11:47 pm ET

@Haydee
Good chat as well. Good night.

@Dodie
We do learn when we go to war. I appreciate your layout of the similiarities of Iraq and Vietnam but I disagree. Yes companies make money at war, however we have had incredible growth of economies during peace as well, more so I would argue. We did attack Afghanistan, although not as hard as I would have pushed for. Iraq I think was necessary. Keep in mind, Bush did not say anything Clinton didn't during his term. Remember, Clinton's policy was regime change in Iraq, he just didn't do anything about it.

It's late on the East Coast. Good night. Good chatting with you.

Andy... It was enjoyable talking with you. You make some good points too. Take care and good night!

she is great

MIke (La Mirada)   May 2nd, 2009 12:28 am ET

While Ann is minimizing water boarding, I'd like to say that she'd be an exposed liar if she said she would lose the last piece of her tiny mind if she had to suffer the atrocities that we saw in Abu Ghraib. Also I'd like to ask her what could make such a beautiful woman so mean and evil...Ann feel free to address this however if you should decide to dignify this comment with a response please ,for the sake of argument, concede my point.

ellie   May 2nd, 2009 12:30 am ET

Ann Coulter is brilliant, & I've never understood how quoting her out of context makes any point whatsoever. Perhaps it is because her points are too difficult to understand...or too hard to accept. Once her points are understood the only way to cope with the joke that is DemocratIC political leadership is to laugh at it.

Robert Klein   May 2nd, 2009 12:43 am ET

Bring back Ann C. anytime, whether you like her or not she is a good debater and very entertaining, Sometimes I am tired of her comments, other times she does make a good point. Also, I have never been a fan of Joy (of the view) and have alway thought of her as a snot. However, she did a great job a interviewing Ann and I think I know have a new opinion of her – talented!

ladybost   May 2nd, 2009 12:49 am ET

I really do not think Ann knows what she is going to say until it comes out of her mouth and her main purpose is to shock people.

Melanie   May 2nd, 2009 12:52 am ET

Just curious...seriously....is Ann transgendered? I mean, I don't want to insult the trans-gender community, but I really want to know.

Dan Nelson   May 2nd, 2009 3:03 am ET

I say we we don't torture or interrogate these terrorists we should charge then with crimes against humanity and give them a speedy trial and if their found guilty of fighting or assisting with the Taliban, al Qaeda or any other terrorist group we then should quickly carry out the penalty of death in a merciful way by sticking them with an IV and let God have his judgment and throw them in hell and burn for eternity!

Michael   May 2nd, 2009 4:17 am ET

Concerning "Ted" the"proud to be a liberal" you say: We should not preach to anyone until we wash our own sins away.

OK ! WHO, AS IN A REAL PERSON, IN YOUR COMMUNITY OR ELSEWHERE FITS THIS CONDITION YOU'VE LAID DOWN ?!

I REALLY THINK YOU DON'T EVEN BELIEVE,UNLIKE ME, IN ANY BORN-AGAIN PREACHER ! LET ME RECOMMEND PAT ROBERTSON OR ROBERT TILTON !
PS. TIME IS RUNNING OUT.... DAILY ! FOR MANY PEOPLE! JUST WATCH THE NEWS!

Michael Crawford   May 2nd, 2009 5:21 am ET

Nice blanket statements about Arabs, you idiot. You do realize that in a lot of Arab countries men hold hands, kiss in public, and engage in sodomy? I spent two years of my life deployed to Arab countries, living and working in close proximity, and it's blatantly obvious to me that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Just another empty talking head on the TV.

Ted   May 2nd, 2009 8:39 am ET

Did any of you asked, what caused 9/11?
President Johnson lied about the Tomkin accident to start the Viet-Nam war. We killed there about 3 million people, and lost over 50,000 of our own men.
We provided weapons to the Taliban to fight the Russians.
We bombed and tomahawked the Taliban in Afghanistan after we did not like the government they set up.
We set up military bases in Saudi-Arabia to fight the first Gulf War. We were supposed to leave, according the agreement, after the war.
We didn´t, we are still there.
The muslims do not like to have christian armies in their Holly Land, Mecca and Medina are in Saudi. They have very bad memories of the Christian Crusades a thousand years ago.
Don´t be naive, we do not defend America 6,000 miles away, we subjugate people and lands for our financial interests, and any means are OK. Do you think the Gestapo was bad? We can outdo them anytime.
Take this from a man who spent over 40 years in uniform or around our military outside the USA!!!!

Dodie ~ Irvine, CA   May 2nd, 2009 2:17 pm ET

@ Ted.

Yes, I completely agree with you. I did not want to blog to that level because of being seen as a crazy radical. Working for DOD in Greece and Turkey, you see a lot, even I was shocked at what we do as a country. There are things that even to this day, I will NOT discuss with anyone.

The only thing I am will to say is that we (the government) contract to private industry jobs that are completely politically incorrect. That way, we (the USA) can deny any knowledge and proclaim innocent because our military was not involved.

Ted, I am sure you know exactly what I mean. I need not say any more.

Pietro Sirianni   May 2nd, 2009 5:08 pm ET

@Ted

He is sadly correct. The United States of America is an empire. But the people have not benefited from the empires expansion into Iraq. The only people that benefitted from our latest expansion were the leaders of the Bush administration. The rest of us were left with a recession.

don   May 3rd, 2009 10:19 pm ET

The proposition that the current recession was somehow a result of "american empirical expansion" into iraq is false ... and obviously so unless someone can demonstrate (not assert) that the two are related ....

lex   May 7th, 2009 4:50 pm ET

Too bad half of the liberals here refuse to understand what Ann says.
Joy said far worse and far more disturbing things if you ask me..Her assersionabout torture, her assersion that Obama was perfect..I mean c'mon..you all would flip out if that were said of a conservative.

lex   May 7th, 2009 5:08 pm ET

Looks like ted has a problem with the US. I always wonder at the motives of those who make such statements. Is it based on the idea that no one in the world is worth fighting for and that no good comes from freeing people from slavery?? Ted, would you have left the Jews in the death camps too...especially if you found out Patton had made some cash on the invasion of Germany??

Is it that old support of tyrants that animates these statements??

Run go find those pictures of the Iraqis who took their lives in their own hands and purple to their thumbs to vote in an honest election for a change. And ted, look at them this time, K??
