Remembering David Bloom for a good cause

Posted: 04:33 PM ET

Today marks the 6th anniversary of NBC journalist David Bloom's death.  David, his wife Melanie, and his family were always friends of Larry King Live, he will always be missed.

Join the Coalition to Prevent DVT in kicking off the sixth annual National DVT Awareness Month! The Coalition to Prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis and its National Patient Spokesperson, Melanie Bloom, widow of NBC news correspondent David Bloom who died in Iraq due to complications of DVT, are fulfilling their commitment to educate Americans about the dangers of DVT by putting word on the street through a mobile campaign, Driving to Reduce the Risks of DVT.

DVT Risk Factors

Assess Your Risk of DVT Blood Clots

You or a loved one could be at risk for developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT blood clots). There are certain surgeries and medical conditions that may increase your risk. The best defense is to stay informed.

Take the DVT Risk Assessor

Take a moment to complete the following series of questions, then print the results. You can also download a PDF of this Risk Assessor to print out and fill in manually. Your healthcare professional may want to keep a copy of this assessment, in either format, in your file for future reference. Be sure to talk with your healthcare professional about your risk for developing DVT blood clots.

It's OK that she forgave him if she chooses, but he should be treated like any other law offender!

In this crisis, FPL is asking customer for $300-$400 dollars deposit for electricity within 10 days. They do not accept any type of arrangement. There is exception only for people with good credit. I need help with this new system.

Rhianna is in denial of the seriousness of this matter and when, not if, it happens again she may not be as fortunate. Thank you Kiera Knightly for your public service announcement depicting precisely what happens next. Rhianna, get out while you still have the opportunity.

Pastor Warren, how can you not agree with Homosexuality, & preach to people not to engage in it , and say your not a anti-gay activist.

Raj Ganesh   April 6th, 2009 9:46 pm ET

Pastor Warren, I am not clear from your interview whether you support gay marriage or not. Can you please be specific? We look at bible as the guideline for disciplined life. Your thoughts please.

It seems that no one wants to just accept pastors/priests, etc. as
to what they say and do any more. They have to be asked over and
under and another way if they're being mean to homosexuals. I
do not see how this affects a person and think it should not be brought up over and over. Men of God are having to go through much more criticism for no particular reason – just because people want
to be so rude now.. I do realize
that there have been many reasons for people to doubt the good of
churches, etc., but why not just listen to their messages. I deeply
respect Rick Warren and others, and think they have to go through a
lot of unnecessary things just because they're men of God.

Just because his rich and famous does not mean he should get away with what he did to her...
