Special Commentary ---------------- Remember Al Gore's vice-presidential running mate when he ran against George H.W. Bush for President in 2000? Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut? The happy warrior who by all estimates nailed veep candidacy 101 by enhancing rather than harming the race? How did the Gore-Lieberman ticket fair in the home state of the ticket's veep choice? They carried Connecticut by 56%- 38%. Two whole years have passed since Senator Lieberman’s fellow Democrats ran a trust fund WASP against him in his Primary, having first failed to accomplish their psychological operations mission to muscle him into dropping out of the race altogether. Is this a living example of the proverbial “elite-effete-liberal-eastern establishment” politics which is simply beyond my native western comprehension?
