It’s not a matter of principal to say that the world is in array and chaos. That Buracas Obama does not bring anything to the table to calm the waters (So to speak.) Other than to be the flagship of Americana in disdain and despair as it may.

Sandra   July 8th, 2010 2:51 pm ET

The number of people that I know that have been through wars is crazy. And I live in the Midwest. It's long overdue to shut down the dedicated military industrial complex (watch Eisenhower's warning in the documentary, Why We Fight. You can google video search and see it free or go to Netflix documentary section). We don't need bases everywhere. We need to get along. We need to mind our own business.

Stop building bases all over. The US has no business being involved in talks with Israel – Palestinians. We have a conflict of interest. (Can all of the war mongers go find an island somewhere and leave the rest of us alone?)

Smith in Oregon   July 8th, 2010 5:11 pm ET

Larry King, I saw the twinkle in your eyes as you offered to host the Middle East leaders including Israel and Palestine in the continued effort to obtain a lasting peace treaty and agreement between Israel and Palestine.

I certainly hope this is a forerunner for a future show that you already are planning and actively working on.

I can think of no better way Larry King for you to go out on the top in such a display of the power of journalism at it's very best.

Lucy   July 8th, 2010 5:13 pm ET

I wish the hour with Netanyahu had been about something addition to its conflicts.

What else is in the news in Israel?

Leisa Brown-Amorosa   July 8th, 2010 6:06 pm ET

The esteemed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is truly a very gracious diplomat. It would have been nice to view the entire interview online.

Jack & Jane Verburg   July 8th, 2010 7:01 pm ET

Please consider Roland S Martin the journalist as larrys replacemnt.
Thanks J&J

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   July 9th, 2010 2:33 am ET

I hope Israel and Palestine can work together to find peace.

Quite impressed with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he speaks well.

Ted   July 9th, 2010 8:13 am ET

@ Sandra

Yes, you are right!!! I have been writing about the military/industrial complex and their total grasp on our country. Even President Eisenhower warned us about it.
Decisions are made by them and the bought and fully paid congress just decides to do it and put their stamp on the deal. We are blowing all our finances on useless military equipment that must be replaced in 8-10 years. The same people who sold us the originals will also sell us the replacement.
This will not change until the american people makes it to stop.

Ted   July 9th, 2010 8:28 am ET

Primeminister Netanjahu just pulls the wool over our eyes, Israel has absolutely no intention to sign a peace agreement with the palestenians!! They just cannot efford such a deal.
That country is put together from people with hundred different nationalities, culture and races, and only the war keeps them from going to eachothers throath.

Israel needs the war, just like the Holocaust, to cry about their need and collect the monies from us.
In case of an agreement they must leave the West Bank, part of Lebanon and Syria they occupy and allow all the refugees to return to their home. That alone would make jews a minority in Israel and they will never go for it. In addition, what do they do with the 250,000 settlers in the West Bank who make the life of Palestenians unbearable very day?

The only solution is to create a large Palestina where all groups can live together and where the laws are based on democratic principles and not on religion.
The state of Israel is not better that the Iran, in both countries ultra orthodox crazies govern.

sal   July 9th, 2010 2:16 pm ET

Dear Mr. King:
I happened to catch your interview this week of Prime Minister Natanyahu. I must say that I am extremely dissappointed in you, your perceptions and your subtle insinuations. One, to suggest that it was Israel's fault for the deaths of some supposedly harmful passengers
is simply ludicrous. Afterall, Israeli soldiers were merely performing an inspection of cargo to ensure that there was no transport of weapons, etc. In fact, it was the Israeli soldiers that were attacked by your so called volunteers. Secondly, for you to ask the question of why or what the difference is of Iran having nuclear bombs versus Israel is even more prepsterous. Do you have any knowledge of teh Middle East crisis? Are you simply that dumb that you do not know the difference between the leaders of Iran or Israel? Larry, maybe it is time for you to hang it up and sit by the pool sipping on a bloody mary.....

Watson   July 9th, 2010 3:16 pm ET

I watched this program. It seems to me that Netanyahu is on an organized PR mission that is less than skin deep. Larry should have asked the tough questions of what's going on on the ground. There is nothing going on that supports any willingness on the part of Israel to not just talk, but do. I also think that a Palestinian perspective was totally missing. How about having Hanan Ashrawi on your show?

IKHAN   July 9th, 2010 5:56 pm ET

@Ted
well said.

regimes both in Iran & Israel illustrate what happens when people with deeply ingrained biases & hate become leaders.
The scenario gets scarier when one has a large arsenal of nukes & the other is aiming to acquire the same.
The world would be better off if it can rid Israel of its weapons of mass destruction then it would be lot easier to prevent Iran from acquiring nukes.
As long as one country in the M.East carries nukes we cannot prevent others to join in the race.

IKHAN   July 10th, 2010 2:42 am ET

Larry,

you had the right approach to the interview & popped pertinent questions.
@sal
your remarks just prove how blinded some folks are by their inbred biases & hate. You just wanted Larry to kiss Netanyahu's....... oh! hands like some of our spineless politicians of dual loyalty.

Sure the Israeli commandos raided the ships carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza in international waters with welcoming garlands & chocolates. The brutal massacre that happened including the murder of an American just so happened.
Pl don't add insult to injury.

Dodie   July 11th, 2010 5:03 pm ET

Ted & IKHAN

Any culture or race of people who have experienced genocide (Holocaust) and survived has PTSD at the societal level. Their entire system is based on survival and caught up in the "fear" of a 'second coming' A society can operate just like an individual since it is made up of many.

I am not defending their position or tactics, as I think their attack on the flotilla which was carrying aid to Gaza was outrageous. What I am trying to convey is that These people are trying to survive with every means possible. They experience Increased arousal; hence, how they approached the ships carrying aid to Gaza, manipulation, anger, feeling victimized, and so on.

Chagrined   July 12th, 2010 2:26 am ET

Netanyahu attempted to diminish Iran because of the murder of a young girl during a protest which is tragic.
PM Netanyahu should be reminded that an extremest Jew murdered PM Yitzhak Rabin and he has no moral authority to criticize Iran considering Israel just murdered nine people on a boat in international waters, just as Israel assaulted the USS Liberty, a 'war crime' for which Israel has never been punished. Also Israel brutally murdered 1400 innocent Palestinians during another 'war crime, Operation Cast Lead." Two assaults on Lebanon, including the slaughter of several hundred old men, women and children during the massacres at Sabraa and Shatilla. Those brave, courageous, hubristic Israeli solders murdering little girls! Over three hundred children killed in this terrorist assault on Gaza. Israel has subjected the Palestinians to a Holocaust. Israel has no shame? At long last, Israel has no decency!

Some time ago, Charlie Rose (on C-SPAN) asked President Clinton about the Israeli/Palestinian peace debacle. President Clinton responded that the one incident that scuttled peace between Israel and the Palestinians was the murder of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin by an Israeli extremist. I hope this will end the inaccurate account of the 2000 Camp David summit and the demonization of Yasser Arafat and Palestinians!
