Knowing a family member could be raped, tortured and starved in a dungeon like setting in North Korea would be an extremely difficult reality to accept. I'm glad the Ling Sisters are re-united and Kudo's to former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for their considerable but often unmentioned efforts in helping free Laura Ling.

jsn   May 19th, 2010 9:28 pm ET

the countries do not a have diplomatic relationship. why are you testing this. You are out to make a name for the both of you and a book. This makes me sick. Get a real job. If you go to a country like this, take the hit. Think about all of the others.. You two make me vomit because you are using it to make money. If I went somewhere I should not, I would not get the press. I hope you know emphasis is should not. You get on Larry King and some bs book deal. Spend your time on helping what is going on with the oil spill. What are you thinking, oh you!!!

Randy   May 19th, 2010 9:29 pm ET

Larry this shows what people with money can do, if that was an average person nobody knew they would still be there. If you go into another country yu should know things could happen and not whine
about it if something does happen.

hendel rodriguez diaz   May 19th, 2010 9:34 pm ET

weekend pass would be cool got no pride though whatever u need all i really ever needed was a roof & food & sometimes its nice 2 sleep under the stars 1 day or 2 too paranoid here things 2 expensive life 2 cheap

Taylor   May 19th, 2010 9:34 pm ET

Did you feel at any time that the North Korean officials were aware of the fact you were the sister of Lisa Ling, the journalist who entered the country a number of years earlier?

hendel rodriguez diaz   May 19th, 2010 9:37 pm ET

the law here can shoot u in the head on your knees and extend the investigation worked and inquirry comitees till all have forgoten through new disasters

Weber   May 19th, 2010 9:41 pm ET

These individuals knowingly violated the borders of a sovereign state for secondary gains. In addition they received exceedingly privileged assistance to free them from their deserved punishment. Not everybody is so lucky (remember Iran) and now then makes money from it.

hendel rodriguez diaz   May 19th, 2010 9:43 pm ET

can a person who wishes 2 speak be protected through the free press?

hendel rodriguez diaz   May 19th, 2010 9:44 pm ET

ok did all i could hope u hear my cry 4 help

David   May 19th, 2010 9:51 pm ET

Hi Larry, Our Government warns us of countries around the world that are not friendly towards Americans, why do so many ignore the warnings, Shortly after Lauras return home, three others were caught entering Iran. My question to Laura is was it all worth it, the possibility of never seeing your family again, We Americans are very arrogant, and feel we can do as we pleasel in other countries. We visit other countries and we still feel that everyone in the country is the foreigner not us

hendel rodriguez diaz   May 19th, 2010 9:55 pm ET

i would happily allow any of u to turn my home upside down n inside out i am a pacifist i just dont trust what they might say they find compared to what is here (not much) if u had a contact here i would open the door 4 u gladly i fear lies not truth i fear the end of freedom not prison or death

gerald Jolly   May 19th, 2010 10:10 pm ET

Incredibly beautifull young women, and we are proud to call them Americans.

Mary-Jane   May 19th, 2010 10:12 pm ET

@ jsn

You are absolutely correct. Laura Ling could have been the spark that ignited a raging fire between the US and North Korea with this type of foolish behavior!

Toni   May 19th, 2010 11:05 pm ET

Lisa Ling is such an opportunist. Didn't seem like she was happy to discuss her sister's horrible ordeal when it was happening? My husband I think she was not remorseful, but rather excited to be on TV.

Hugh in California   May 19th, 2010 11:53 pm ET

@Toni,
That's a pretty narrowed-minded point of view. She probably didn't speak while the drama was unfolding because our government told her it was not going to help her get her sister out of that place. Why shouldn't she be excited to be on TV to talk about that horrible ordeal? Why such a negative? Isn't it better to be thankful her sister is once again free!

Toni   May 20th, 2010 12:01 am ET

Hugh, it is the truth these girls are media opportunists. You do not see Euna out selling a book.

Dodie   May 20th, 2010 12:09 am ET

@ Toni

Give her time, I am sure she will

Mike Ali   May 20th, 2010 12:48 am ET

I was very disappointed to watch Laura Ling on your show, especially after her ordeal with the North Korean, we should just thank God for their safety, and their return home. It is upsetting to me when I see Laura and her sister now talking about the North Korean treatment to American, and forgetting that Laura's ordeal may occur soon in the future. she destroying any future relationship between American who might need help and North Korean who might think now that they did the wrong thing letting American free. They watching this interview now and maybe regretting their decision. Everyone her in America already know how North Korean and Iranian treat their hostages or prisoners. We should just shut up now and try to keep the negotiation door always open, especially with our enemy, as they always say keep your friend close and your enemy closer.I think this interview destroying any future favor from North Korea.

t mitchell   May 20th, 2010 3:13 am ET

Sorry Larry, after watching the first 8 minutes of your show and hearing this woman admit that she knowingly broke the law – which by the way - selfishly puts many, many Innocent Americans at risk now, I could no longer watch your program.

I thought "let me guess", she has a book to sell about her so-called "ordeal".

And sure enough, you went to commercial advertising their book.

John McCain was fighting a war and is a hero and suffered in prison.

This girl was nothing but ignorant, stupid and selfish and now she wants our money to read about her selfish stupidity and you want us to listen to it?

Na-ah...I don't think so. Sounds like she's angling to follow in the footsteps of big sis...who also admitted to Lying.

The North Koreans must be livid now - thanks to the very Unpatriotic, Ignorant actions of these two media-hungry women. Shame on them!
Now they will be getting truly innocent Americans Killed who make Truly innocent mistakes.

Turning off now...and won't be buying such Trash and Rubbish.

This kind of thing makes me sick!!

Dave   May 20th, 2010 3:14 am ET

They are opportunists and it seems the only way they can make money. Not only that, but they are simply lying to create a more dramatic story. Nobody hit them. Give me a break. Laura complains that to this day she suffers from her 'beatings'. Are you kidding me? They also claim to have been placed in a 'cell'. Your cell was a room in a guesthouse. You beyotches don't deserve a dime from this and should be on the hook for all expenses incurred by the tax payer.

Larry, how can you support this crap?

Jason   May 20th, 2010 3:33 am ET

Your sister Lisa sure came to your aid at the right time about that stomach ulcer question. She did that a few times in the interview, changing the subject, glossing over your lies. It took you two a while to scheme together your story huh? I feel sorry for the dummies that believe a word that comes out of your greedy mouths.

alba   May 20th, 2010 10:46 am ET

I think that they shoud know the risky. What a pity.

Dodie   May 20th, 2010 11:42 am ET

It is refreshing to view the number of individuals, who post on here can see with clarity! I also found it very interesting that the lie about not knowing they had crossed over to the DPRK was glossed over by focusing on Laura's health.

By the way, the river that divides China and the DPRK is Large and Deep if not iced over. There is NO way one would not know they are entering the DPRK. Also it is well known in China NOT to cross over. So either these two journalists are not terribly bright or they wanted to cross into the DPRK! Especially during a time when relations between the DPRK and the US are impoverished
