She’s not funny at all! She’s just vulgar and people laugh at her.

Media ratings greatly rise when showing conflict and trauma. America seems enamored with media packed pictures of militia guys carrying guns. Do viewer's love the utterly outrageous tea-party rhetoric, or are they simply laughing at such insanity?

For the past 8 years, Republicans loved scaring the hell out of Americans—and the rest of the World. It seems rather redundant to state the Republicans are trying that same old chestnut once again to sway the American people to follow their nefarious special interest agenda.

Is media news mature enough to veer away from saturating its airwaves and audience with the Republican fear mongering or continue placing that into the spotlight while urgent domestic and world events continue to unfold and go largely unreported?

Are Three Ongoing Foreign Wars Too Many For America to Be Fully Engaged In? What about FOUR? Afghanistan,Iraq,Korea,Iran

The darkening situation in South Korea is increasingly making it very possible a large armed conflict across Korea is likely in the near future. North Korea's newspapers are now openly bragging about how 13 of its commando's sunk a South Korea warship using one of its stealth submarines.

South Korean's that have looked at the salvaged warship in which 32 South Korean sailors died after a mysterious explosion, have definitely found evidence a external explosion occurred which sank the warship.

Iran is undoubtedly watching the severe ramping up of tensions in Korea ever since a South Korea warship fired several salvo's at a North Korean warship killing several North Korean sailors in the same disputed waterway boundary.

A North Korean newspaper states the North Korean leader visited the surviving sailors on that damaged warship and gave the green light to North Korean commando's to use one of their stealth submarines to deal with future incursions by South Korean warships which they apparently did.

The torpedo fired by the stealth submarine appears to have been deliberately designed to detonate deep BELOW the bottom hull of the warship, creating an enormous air pocket which cracks the vessel in half by it's own weight and inability to support itself in the middle.

Unlike punching a hole in the hull as occurs in a normal torpedo strike, the deep water detonation is much more devious and with the swift ocean currents in that Korean waterway, torpedo parts and explosive evidence would be swiftly swept away.

That nefarious technique and idea was dreamed up and put into action by Nazi German scientists who created a deep sea mine which sank a great many British warships and merchant ships by creating a huge air pocket directly beneath the middle of the ships until one of the mines was discovered in shallow water and dissected to learn how it operated.

Both North Korea and Iran appear to be joined at the hip in fanning the flames of hatred and arming themselves for war. I wouldn't be surprised if a larger conflict across Korea breaks out that Iran also places their plans of regional aggression into action. Conversely, If Iran is attacked I wouldn't be surprised to see a regional conflict between both Korea's break out also.

I hope America treads very carefully in the near future to avoid being overextended in multiple theaters of military conflicts as this appears to be precisely what North Korea and Iran has in mind for America.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is certainly the best First Lady of all. She is an intelligent, strong woman who has had an amazing career, and what she has done for the U. S. as Secretary of State should be appreciated. Also, rising above the personal tragedies that were part of her life must have been an obstacle in building her career to what it is now.

Michael Landon talked years ago (obviously) on the Tonight Show about being a bed wetter. He was quite open about it; and, of course, the subject created a lot of jokes between Johnny Carson and him.

Smith in Oregon   April 20th, 2010 9:42 pm ET

Anderson Cooper replacing Larry King as a sit down interviewer? NO WAY, I hope it doesn't come to that trial and failure. Anderson Cooper is a fine stand-up news commentator but he seems uncomfortable and perhaps not his cup of tea to be a standard sit down one-one interviewer as Larry King has for decades.

Suggestion, hire Rachel Maddow as Larry King's replacement. She is terrific in her one-one interviews and is relentless in pulling out the relevance in the topic and discussion in the spotlight.

Lane Pope   April 20th, 2010 9:50 pm ET

I enjoyed the Prez'. brother and, but especially Sarah Silverman. Arabs and Jews ARE both brown and pushy- if this can be handled with humor and not hatred – GREAT FOR US ALL! I suspect Ms. S. is very bright. She is erudite, clever and FUNNY!!!,

Arlene Hache   April 20th, 2010 9:50 pm ET

From one former 14-year old bedwetter to another, than you so much. I can't wait to read your book.

no one can ever replace Larry King he is one of a kind .

Sarah Silverman you are great regarding religion and views on catholism! Any religion for that matter, are just umbrellas to keep the light away. Thank you Sarah, truly.

Please do the research about what is going on the music industry and how superstars have to give a blood sacrifice in order to be a star. I agree that you don't need a college degree. I want to be teacher but I am substitute and one of my students came to me and said "Mr. Humphrey my teacher told me that when she comes threw the drive threw to make sure that I don't forget my fries.". This was said because he was a trouble student. My reply "and when you get you managers shirt and she is 50 cent short, tell her that you need your fries back because you don't have the money." Fast food is multimillion dollar industry and we as American are telling our children that they must have a degree. "If you find a job that you love to do, you will never work a day in your life." I also must say that smoking THC should be legal. It is an industry in America is being over look, just like drinking was not legal years ago our country set laws for consuming it, THC should be the same way. I can tell you so many positives things that would come about if America would legalize this natural plant. I hope your book do well and I look forward to how it open the eyes of the American public.

IKHAN   April 20th, 2010 10:14 pm ET

What is this talk of replacing Larry King?
It would be pretty tough for somebody don his mantle. However of late the show was getting to be about nobodys mostly.

@Smith in Oregon. What he says is right.
However on Iran our perceptions need to crystallize. We cannot afford to go to war against another country in that region & sacrifice American lives & treasure on behest of Israel. Neither can we afford to stretch our resources in isolation for the sake of idelogical idiots in our own country.
To get ourselves into another quagmire even worse than Iraq & Afghanistan would be committing another folly which would cost us the remaining influence that we have over a region that is vital for our geo-political & economic interests and get us into a perpetual nightmare of foreign policy disasters, security fears & violence.
Get out of Iraq & Afghanistan, deal with Iran thru diplomacy & dialogue
and get our foreign policy geared to our national interests & priorities instead of being pressured all the time by our allies.

CE   April 20th, 2010 10:18 pm ET

Sarah while trying to be funny really displays no humor way too much vulgarity and a deep sense of clueless-ness.

Which church can easily acheive its purpose of propagating the work of Christ by selling its assets?

If the Vatican sells its property to feed the world .... once the world has eaten how will the Vatican do the main job of propagating the word and work of Christ.

Who will pay for the training of clergy and nuns who sacrifice their lives to save souls, run motherless baby homes..etc?

Sarah ... go get a clue ... you should try being funny without being vulgar or de-meaning the Catholic Church of Christ

Jean   April 20th, 2010 10:41 pm ET

Larry:

I heard your latter discourse with Sarah Silverman who was making fun of the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI. Of course, she has offended those genuine practicing Catholic Christians as myself who were subject to listening to her on the Larry King Live Show. How would she like us Catholics to make fun of her, her show , her lifestyle also her parents and family? I bet she would not appreciate it. My dear Mother had a wise saying: "Do so never like so." My principle is always as I was taught by my married, disciplined and religious parents: "What you do not want for yourself, you should not do it or say it to others." This is the Golden Rule as Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us: "Do unto others as you have them do unto you." It is sad that there are many people who do not practice it and in their words and writings of all.
With due respect to others, we should never make fun of them be it in jest. These people as Sarah consider themselves free to make jokes of the Pope and the Catholic Church but if they made jokes about Mohammid, consider how the Muslims would be offended and what may happen to them.
We Christians are taught to love everyone including our enemies. Our Lord Jesus Christ said: "Do good to those who hate you." Why did He teach this? Because He also said: "Vengeance is Mine. I will repay." Therefore, we live the judging and condemning to Him for on that inevitable day, He will recompense everyone according to their deeds; their words are included.
Nothing is hidden from our God. Those who make jokes and criticize the Pope, in our patient God's time, they will reap what they sow. Our Lord Jesus Christ said: "By your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned."
Why has Sarah chosen the Pope of all to criticize and make fun of? Why did she not make fun of the rich people in the USA, some of them who cheated their customers and clients in order to get rich and who are living a high profile life?
She criticizes the Vatican and its furnishings. I would advise her to do some research. The majority of the furnishings in the Vatican were donated down through the ages. The Popes down through the ages did not use the funds which was donated by the Catholics to furnish the Vatican. It is our money, all Catholics worldwide, down through the ages which support the Pope and pay the salary and for maintenance of the Vatican. It is not the money of people like, little, young Sarah Silverman.
Have you also heard of Michael Angelo who built the Cisteen Chapel? The Vatican and the furnishings do not belong to the Pope. He cannot take them with him anywhere. Furthermore the Catholic Church is the biggest giver of charitable donations worldwide, in that It helps many people who are in need of in the USA and elsewhere as in the Third World countries. This is money which is donated by all practicing Catholics, both the rich, well-to-do and the poor. We give alms according to our means. The Hierarchy does not ask us to give more than we can afford. There is also an annual special collection for the Pope's mission and the Bishop's mission. This money is to assist the poor of the world.
There are many who speak ill of the Pope and the Catholic Church without knowing the truth and finding out the truth.
So Sarah says she is a Jew and an agnostic. I feel sorry for such people who are practicing nothing and who believe in nothing. In difficult times, they have nothing to lean on and hold on to and no faith to sustain them to give them the strength and consolation which comes only from God and is permanent. Their lives are wasted ones, lived in vain.
What will they do when they are dying and when they die, sooner or later? They will live to regret it. In fact, they do not know at any moment what will happen to them. Will they get into an accident, be injured and lose their faculties and/or die because of the accident? Will they die from a sudden illness? Will they lose their career? Will they commit suicide? Will they age gracefully. Time will tell for them. We have heard what has happened to others. We only have to look back to the year 2009 and to this day and what happened to some people and some young ones as well.
Another thing I will state, God knows what will happen to each and every one of us. He knows our future which we ourselves cannot fathom with our small and limited minds.
We Catholics are expected to pray for people as Sarah Silverman that she may not perish in Satan's cauldron of everlasting fire. At present, she is governed by this enemy of God and of our souls and she is not aware of it as others who criticize the Pope and make fun of him. Yet, even the Pope prays for all of them, his enemies, those as her who refuse to acknowledge God and pay Him homage, who preach and teach against Him that He may have mercy on them when their time comes to die. God expects that of the Pope and of Catholics. As we persevere in the Faith and as we do, we will receive God's blessing and graces until the end that we may obtain eternal salvation. It is well worth it. The dividends for always doing good are out of this world. Many could learn from this for their own earthly happiness, peace of mind and their immortal souls.
In the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ and those who have lambasted and persecuted the Pope and the Catholic Church, I will state: "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." I will include: "They know not what they say." May God have mercy on them, as Sarah Silverman who appears to be living in ignorance of God and what He wants her to do so that she may continue to live a relatively happy, peaceful, healthy and successful life and that when she dies, to die in the peace of Our Lord Jesus Christ who lived, taught, suffered, crucified, died and was resurrected for us that we might live with Him in His (Our) Heavenly Father's Eternal Blissful, Glorious Kingdom. Heaven is worth working and striving for.

My choice of best First Lady is Hillary Clinton, She epitomises America – strength, fortitude, courage, resilence. She stands by her man though he hurts her. In fact, she brings ou the best in her hubby.
Given time, Michelle will outdo her in all respects. Just two years and she exhibits all the traits of a charming First Lady
Michelle will not undergo pain because Obama.looks like a good husband and father.
Jackie Kennedy of course exudes class, elegance and beauty which all women aspires to be.

Jean

The Sistine Chapel Master Pieces...by Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni...I just call him Mikey...he painted it and was pissed off and it shows in his finger representations on some of the angels who were giving the finger, as we call it, to Pope Julius II, who commissioned it to Michaelangelo to paint it for the second time...or Mikey, as I call him..here is a little more info..I saw them shortly after John Paul II was elected..before they were cleaned and photographed.
I was on my way out of Iran after the overthrow of the Shah and had stopped in Rome for a short vacation.

The Sistine Chapel was built between 1475 and 1483 and named after the Pope who had it built, Sixtus IV. It has the exact dimensions of the Temple of Solomon, as detailed in Christianity's Old Testament: 40 feet wide by 130 feet long.

The Chapel is most famous for its ceiling, painted by Michelangelo; but the Chapel also has paintings on the walls by such famous artists as Botticelli.

Pope Julius II requested that Michelangelo repaint the ceiling in 1508. (Three years earlier, the artist had been summoned to design the pope's tomb.) The ceiling originally had a blue sky with golden stars. The artist agreed and spent most of the next four years creating one of the world's artistic masterpieces. The pope wanted to see paintings of the 12 Christian Apostles; the result was more than 3,000 figures.

The Catholic Church sold hard bound books of the photographs. They may have a collector price tag on them now...much higher than the original price..

Smith in Oregon   April 21st, 2010 12:21 am ET

@ Jean, Pope Ratz should immediately return the Billions of Nazi Gold they have stored in the Vatican Banks that was originally stolen from the Jewish and Romanian people in Europe.

@ Jean, by all accounts Jesus lived a simple life in very simple surroundings. Above all others, he hated the money changers.

Such gold gilded, ornate treasure filled buildings are certainly not in harmony with the life of Jesus, nor what that historic person would even chose to reside in.

Ornate Christian Churches are monuments to the Pope and the power of the Pope and Church, they are in no fashion a honor to the Creator, nor do they even suggest the sacrifices the Creator have made to provide you and all of us what we have.

Brianna   April 21st, 2010 12:55 am ET

Love her! I am apart of the facebook group 'Sell the Vatican, Feed the World!' in her honour. She's exactly right, the POPE should not be living like a KING! The Vatican is worth 1.21 billion dollars!! Exactly, what would Jesus do?

Sarah is right when she said depression is a feeling of being home sick. She was missing her spiritual home, Heaven!

b. m. jordan   April 21st, 2010 1:19 am ET

Some news for Sarah Silverman, and Larry King, regarding his show on April 20 on how the Pope should sell paintings to help the poor.
I quote from a column by JEWISH businessman Sam Miller of Cleveland .
In the United States the Church educates 2.6 million students everyday at a cost of 10 billion dollars to the Church and a savings to the American taxpayer of 18 billion dollars.
The Chruch has 230 colleges and universities with an enrollment of 700,000 students. The Church has a non-profit hospital system of 637 hospitals for everyone, not just Catholics. One out of every 5 people, are treated in these institutions.
Why does the media continue to carry on a vendetta against one of the most important and generous institutions we have in the United States? It's getting tiring, annoying and frustrating and it's just plain time to put a stop to it.

Sarah Silverman is the best. She's so talented, and despite what the haters refuse to see, has such a kind spirit. She is a true american treasure!

l was watching Sarah Silverman on Larry King tonight show. This is the first time, l have seen or heard of this young lady. What a breath of fresh air to have a person like Sarah on the show. So very real & honest. THis young lady has a great future in from of her. She should be given a chance to host the Larry King show when he,s off.She is such a natural. Sharah is a diamond in the rough. She reminds of when l heard your President first speak for the first time, when he was a Senator. "who is this person" You just want to stop what ever you are doing & watch & listen to this individual. "Look out world, make room for this lady."

Emad Mitwalli   April 21st, 2010 5:52 am ET

In my personal opinion, she is NOT a Comedian.

A good Comedian can make people laugh, But not by embarasing and cursing others. a good Comedian can make jokes about himself or the Establishment but NEVER at other people. Good taste and politenes as well as common sense to the feeling of others seems to have been lost.

Emad Mitwalli   April 21st, 2010 5:54 am ET

p.s. If i start taking drugs and start swearing at people, will that make me too a comedian???

Theresa   April 21st, 2010 8:41 am ET

I don't understand her..the only topic that seems to be off limits for her is jokes about fat women BUT rape, etc. is not.. My, goodness...that must be why I just can't find her type of humour FUNNY!!!!

Gerald Jolly   April 21st, 2010 9:04 am ET

@ Theresa.

Now you see, on your point, I do agree with you one thousand percent.

Sarah Silverman "A COMEDIEN"???

I guess it will never end until Larry is gone.

All one needs to be to get recognition from Larry if being jewish.

No bogotry intended, but everybody know, that Sarah Silver is about as funny as a badly infected ingrown toenail

sally   April 21st, 2010 10:29 am ET

Sarah Silverman was the most vulgar, disgusting girl I have ever seen. I did not know who she was but my husband told me she is Jimmy Kimmels girlfirend. Imagine if a catholic started jew bashing ? It would be front page news. She calls herself funny? She should be ashamed of herself as so should her parents. It just shows what people will sink to to be famous. If that's what our society is calling entertainment you and your guest can have it.

Ted   April 21st, 2010 10:52 am ET

Sarah, yes you have a great future front of you, not because you are talented and have class, but as Larry said: "you are jewish!!!"
That is the primery qualification in the american entertainment industry, talent comes later.
I love jewish jokes, they are the best, however it must have finesse and not be vulgare. I have friends who can tell such jokes better than you and do not get paid for it!!

Gerald Jolly   April 21st, 2010 10:56 am ET

Catering to the no-talent insignificant BOOBS.

That's Larry's take on entertainment.

GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Time to send LK to the HOME.

Ted   April 21st, 2010 11:04 am ET

@ Jean

People who are jewish, or italian, or anything else and agnostic are not nothing, as you state. They have more brain than you have, because they certainly do not believe in fairy tales, (perhaps in fairy tailes?), and they can decide what they believe and what not.
You were told what to believe and you are stuck with it!

As far as donation of the catholic church; they give a small part of the collections received to the needy. Mostly they use it to finance the palaces the pope and the thousands of bishops and monsignors live in and the orgies in the Vatican also cost a lot of money.
Not to forget the millions of settlements they had to pay for the misused children, and Jean, more are coming every day.

The Mafia is a boy scout organisation compaired to your church.

IKHAN   April 21st, 2010 2:31 pm ET

@Ted

well said. This attitude " I own the Heaven & the rest of you are going to Satan's" is exactly what causes problems.
To recognize the right of others to believe in whatever manner they choose or not to believe at all is what is needed.
Deriding others for their beliefs wouldn't do anything for what is mostly wrong with this world

Hugh in California   April 21st, 2010 3:03 pm ET

Seems to be just about average - the amount of far right religious comments by so many "true believers" on Larry's blog. God doesn't need your help, the Almighty will rule the universe despite your constant need to chime in about your religious views. Some of you represent God like a used-car saleman with a poor sales pitch!

Cajazz76:24:8   April 21st, 2010 5:54 pm ET

Fundamentalist Christians are the greatest threat to the personal freedoms in this country than all fundamentalist and radical Moslem's actions throughout the world. Take an idiot like Franklin Graham who is constantly back peddling from his hateful remarks concerning the Islamic religion. He is constantly putting U.S. Armed Forces in peril that are serving in nation's that have Moslem majorities, specifically Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as, those serving there from other nations also. I am just thrilled to hear he was canned from evoking his invocations on May 6, the National Day of Prayer at the Pentagon. He can immolate himself with his own version of his bible and keep his vile remarks concerning other faiths to himself. Religion is a politically organized and canned way to justify the profiting, warring, murdering and abusing of each other through the fear of the unknown. It was the first political parties on the planet and in the U.S. we really do not have a separation of church and state. We are so convoluted in our lack ability to reason and accept our deaths we appear uncivilized to all non-speaking animals...Silly human race....

IKHAN   April 22nd, 2010 10:58 am ET

@Cajazz

well stated. We now see the re-emergence of Bible thumping militias who are no more than terrorists heavily armed & trained to kill. What can be a bigger threat?
