Nielsen's: NCAA tops DWTS which tops AI

Posted: 01:31 PM ET

Alphabet soup you say?  Well, the TV world isn't exactly the military, but we like our acronyms.  Now, on to this weeks Nielsen ratings.  Most notable is Monday's "Dancing With the Stars" again topped "American Idol," which again won in their head-to-head night on Tuesday.  You know a show's a success when averaging about 25 million viewers is considered "down," but by most accounts this isn't Idols most compelling season.  Why is that?  Comments welcome.  And "Lost," by the way, finished the week 20th, with 9.5 million viewers.  What is it that Desmond has to do for the island?  Don't tell me, still haven't watched it on Tivo.

While I seldom watch many of the NCAA games, the finals I sometimes watch because of the intensity and the overall all-out performance of the players.

All to often in the NBA, they appear to be a cross between the Harlem Globe trotters and the WWA wrestling entertainment league which is entirely scripted including the flops, ankle sprains and hoo-ra moments.

Is there any possibility we can look at the events taking place in South Africia? A South African White Nationalist leader, Eugene Terre blanche, was hacked to death by two individuals with machetes on his farm. It involved a labor dispute over unpaid wages; however, I suspect there is more information which has not been revealed and could create a crisis in South Africa.

@ Dodie, there is a current discussion and video on that with Dan Sanchez here in the CNN Blogs. The handful of remaining white supremacist south African farmers are plenty upset, the non-white south African are not only stating Eugene blanche deserved it, they are stating it should have occurred years ago at the hands of all the people he abused.

I just thought that NCIS is a copy cat of CSI...;

NCIS is much better than CSI in my own opinion, it has more drama and twists on the story**'
