Could MJ deal turnaround music industry?

Posted: 12:51 PM ET

via nytimes.com

Throughout the 1990s, as CDs flew off the shelves, record labels routinely signed big artists to multimillion-dollar recording contracts. Some of it was vanity: labels paid a premium to keep a big-name artist rather than risk a few wisecracks in the press for letting a star go to a rival.

And despite the precipitous drop in album sales in the last decade — about 50 percent fewer albums were sold in 2009 than in 2000 — major deals continued apace, often with bad endings. Mariah Carey’s five-record, $80 million deal with EMI in 2001 lasted one record before the label paid the singer $28 million to get out of the contract.

“If you went back 10 or 20 years ago, you could afford to do a deal that was a little outrageous,” said Russ H. Crupnick, a senior entertainment analyst at the NPD Group, a market research firm. A label’s midlevel acts could sell enough albums to cushion the financial blow. But as the number of platinum-selling albums has dwindled, from 179 in 2000 to 45 in 2009, the labels have little padding left.

“These days, it’s hard,” Mr. Crupnick said. “You can’t afford to be as generous as you might have just to have a name on the roster.”

Nevertheless, early last week Sony’s Columbia Epic Label Group, which worked with Michael Jackson for more than 30 years, announced a deal with the pop star’s estate worth up to $250 million, perhaps the largest in history.

TMZ:

Dr. Conrad Murray claims he was honest with paramedics the day Michael Jackson died and did everything he could to save Jackson's life.Dr. Murray is responding to a story which cites a paramedic report, claiming Dr. Murray never told the EMTs he administered Propofol to the singer just before he stopped breathing.

The rep for Dr. Murray's lawyer, Ed Chernoff tells TMZ, "We are currently in receipt of almost 2800 pages of discovery from the Los Angeles prosecutors and we have been assured that more is coming. What we have does not include this 'official' paramedics report, cited in the News of the World story."

The rep says Dr. Murray will not address the accusation - at least not now - because Chernoff hasn't seen the report.

The rep is quick to add, "We can say unequivocally that Dr. Murray did everything in his power to save Michael Jackson's life and that he fully cooperated with both the paramedics at the scene and physicians at UCLA Medical Center."

Michael is the ONLY artist who deserves such a multi-million deal......
It makes me wonder why did he keep these songs in the vault? Was he waiting for his contract with Sony to expire???? If that is the case, shouldn't his wishes be respected? Something is just not right about Sony having their hand in this big pot! His music will definitely sell and huge profits will be made. How ironic and sad.

Helen, yes he can't comment on the paramedics report because he didn't see it,one would think all such information would most definitely be under lock and key .There is a trial coming up for the death of Michael Jackson, now all evidence has been put out there.Tell me how Conrad Murry could have a trial by jury. When one is called to the jury stand they are to know nothing of the case, correct me it I'm wrong.Everyone now has all the evidence at hand,Maybe we all can just cast a vote on this one.The defense has nothing to go on to put Conrad Murry behind bars.I honestly give the DA and all more credit than that.So who do you think is giving this info to TMZ,or do they have that much of a vivid imagination. The scale has tipped in favor of Michael Jackson still being alive. If there happens to really be a murder case for the death of Michael you can thank your hosts TMZ for messing it all up.

The scale tipped a long time ago. lol The Man behind the curtain is the one who is putting it out there. JMO. Don't you remember in 2005, Michael said prior to his trial that "there has been evidence leaked on the internet claiming to be from a grand jury proceeding. This information is totally false. It is not true." Michael was telling us that documents can be manipulated, falsified or even completely bogus and fabricated. At least, that's my opinion. He's proving his point this time around. IMO. I agree fully that any and all evidence in the case of the "death" of The King of Pop would be under lock and key until after a trial has been completed. Aphrodite Jones had to get a court order just to view evidence. This is all Craploid information. lol. JMO.

I agree with your post @2:22pm. The reason that the U.S. at much more then those that do suppose Michael, is because of the media trash that they kept and still is doing on him. I really wish that people would just opened their eyes and look at what is front of them. There, are people out there that is trying to detroy Michael, and we as fans need to show them that it is not happening. So, yes the U.S. should suppose Michael much more and stop letting others make their decisions for them.,

"Pixie Dust"
Nice post. I was thinking the same way. If all this is suppose to come to trial why is it release to the public for all to see. Even juryors can read all this trash, before a the trial every been done, and jury selections are call upon. Also, whatever evidence that is suppose to be under lock and key the defendence should have some ideal, and CM attorney don't seem to know nothing. So, you tell me is all this really real or a dang Joke, for all to see.

I have mixed feeling about this deal. On the one hand Sony holds all Michael's debts in its hands and there is no way out right now. On the other hand, we have heard and read many years that Michael tried to get out and free from Sony... clearly the estate has to produce money but was there really no other way?

For the contract itself, yes, I think it will raise a new "frontier" for other artists too. Michael had always opened the doors for others with his actions and even after death he do.

Concerning Murray... let's wait and see. Are we sure that report is real? And if it's real, it's only normal that M's attourneys now try to cover him in any way. Only the next hearing and a trial can tell us the truth.
But I also remember shortly after MJ's death that it was told, Murray didn't give all the information about the meds he gave Michael. So, this report could be real. But why release it now to the press? Wouldn't it be better save it for the trial? Hmmmm.

Connie ~ IL   March 22nd, 2010 2:58 pm ET

Hmm Let's see...Dr. Murray's lawyer was just screaming on the 16th that "they smell a rat" because they still had not received any documents from the DA's office, but today he's combing over 2800 pages with more to come... LMAO!!!

letta(IbeLIEve)   March 22nd, 2010 2:59 pm ET

LOL go for it. Because IMHO, that piece evidence should be left for the trial don't you think and now to sale it the syringe, is just too funny to me. Michael is leading the show and I can't wait for the ending. Michael is a great Mastered in all that is played before us. LOL

Hi, how are you? I just saw your post to me on the last blog. Yes, I think everyone bring it to Mr. Kings and CNN's attention does help.

Did you by chance read the book that Anne posted about the other day? The book "The Trials Of Michael Jackson" by Lynton Guest. The link is probably still on the other blog.

I read it and posted that I believe that all of these companies and other players are connected. To me Sony's and AEG's hands are on everything. Some of the information about the inner workings of Sony is confusing to read.

From my understanding. When Michael started speaking out about the things that were going at Sony. Sony was trying every way they could to destroy Michael's career, pushing MJ out of the company, but at the same time keep their hands on ATV and gain control of MJ's own back catalogue Mijac. The Thriller album was mentioned the most, because of the earnings from that one album. Sony executives even leaked MJ financial information to Sneddon during the 2005 trail.

Two other menWalter Yetninoff and Paul Russell (former Sony Exec) started to speak out about the workings of Sony.
Yetninoff was fired and when Russell started talking about the inner Sony workings and connecting the dots in regards to what they were doing to Michael, he received a strong letter to keep his mouth shut.

Basically, what I observing now that Michael is gone Sony is first in line and all welling to work with Michael's estate.

"Pixie Dust "   March 22nd, 2010 3:14 pm ET

letta(beLIEve), As of right now with all this information put out there Murry's lawyers should be smiling, the ball would fall in his court as it would go as an unfair trial and everything would be thrown out.To me it is all bogus.

Marguerite   March 22nd, 2010 3:18 pm ET

Hi everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful day.

Hi gigi! I haven't read that book but I did read your post that day on how Sony and AEG are connected with many, many others. Poor Michael. He was so smart in business that these guys could only manipulate him when he got overwhelmed in debt. Now that he is gone they are taking every opportunity to profit because they know they can bargain with the estate a lot easier than they could with Michael Jackson. I'm sure Sony is using his debt as the bait, reassuring Mrs. Jackson and the others involved that this deal will eliminate all of Michael's past monies owed etc. etc. They know exactly what they're doing. It's a shame. It really is. I feel that the family could resolve Michael's financial issue's without Sony, couldn't they? That family has been in the business long enough to know the in and outs. Couldn't they do this without Sony?

How nice that Sony might step in to 'assist' EMI. Sony likes to 'help' those in distress!! UGH!!!
************************************************************
Struggling music giant EMI are attempting to offload some of their financial worries in planning to lease their vast North American catalogue, according to the Times. It aims to raise around £400m ($601m) for the archive, which includes work from artists as illustrious as the Beatles, David Bowie and Queen. This will, crucially, give EMI's competitors the opportunity to manage the catalogue.

Guy Hands' Terra Firma, who own EMI, believe that the funds raised by this sale would be enough to stop any imminent takeover. Citigroup are the company's lenders and are most likely group to attempt a buy-out. If EMI couldn't garner the money Hands hopes to raise with the sale of the catalogue, the bank could take over as early as June and would almost certainly put the corporation up for sale. However, Hands is currently in a legal tussle with Citi, over claims that it misled him in his takeover of EMI in 2007.

It is also believed that talks were underway with Universal Music, but have now moved onto other rivals such as Warner Music and Sony. Financially, the North American catalogue makes up the vast majority of the label division of EMI's revenue, and is thought to be worth in the region of £100m yearly in North America alone. Removing itself from that market would undoubtedly have both short and long-term effects. Citigroup is thought to have the ability to counter such a plan if it deems it not in the interests of stakeholders, the Times reported.

EMI has had a tough time in recent months, with the speculated sale of the legendary Abbey Road studios, and posting a £1bn operating loss at the beginning of last month. Earlier this month Pink Floyd, also on the label, successfully sued them over claims that it had no right to publish and sell their songs individually, except as part of full albums.

I am confused on this topic as well, now maybe I have had my head buried in the sand too long but,I have never in my life heard of a person being let go on bail in a murder case. Are they not, charged and held in custody until trial.Oh Murry only had to promise to be a good boy and promise to appear in court to have a date set for trial. Now I am not aware of the laws and the way things are carried out in the United States ,but I sure didn't think their laws were so laxed. So again I shall go with the inevitable Michael Is alive.

carie   March 22nd, 2010 4:16 pm ET

Murray posted bail...and when he posted his bail was free to go...after giving up his passport to the courts. The American way. And he was not charge with 'murder' but with involuntary manslaughter...huge difference.

COCO!!! I miss you!!

From TMZ:
"The rep for Dr.

Murray will not address the accusation - at least not now - because Chernoff hasn't seen the report."

Oh, of course, it makes perfect sense that because he's not seen the report Murray doesn't know whether he did or did not tell the paramedics he had stuffed Michael up with Propofol and benzos.
And that coupled with "I did everything to save him".
What a pathetic press release !

His actions were a paragon of ignorance and carelessness and his defence will be cracking every step of the way into this trial just like his PR team already is.

It is a shame. I don't know, this deal is very shady to me. In Lynton's Epilogue he said that the major beneficiaries in all of this has been AEG and Sony. On the last page of the Epilogue Lynton said he believes he put forward enough evidence to warrant a full-scale investigation to all those involved in Mj's last days. He said he urges the authorities to act on the information.....only then we will finally be able to deliver justice for Michael and his family.
________

So I think we all need to stay in prayer that the authorities will listen and look deeper. To me this is a lot deeper than just Murray.

Thank You Letta, I thought so to.I live in Canada.Getting bail is not so easy,in order to receive bail you would of had to do a petty crime.Be it 1 st, 2nd, 3rd degree, murder or manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter, final out come someone died at the hands of another. It has to be a joke.Do you know do they give bail to drug dealers, thieves people who commit fraud. Or are they let go on a promise to appear in court.I always heard that the American laws are tough, but I could be wrong.

TMZ has learned the man who called 911 at Michael Jackson's house the day he died told police Dr. Conrad Murray hid bottles of Propofol from family members and authorities.

The witness - bodyguard Alberto Alvarez - told cops Dr. Murray placed the Propofol bottles in a closet near the room where the doctor administered the Propofol to Jackson.

Authorities found bottles of the anesthetic in what looks like a secret compartment area of the closet.

A source close to Dr. Murray told TMZ Alvarez made the statement two months after Jackson's death ... in the office of his lawyer, Gordon Douglas ... when Alvarez was questioned again by cops. Douglas, by the way, is also a lawyer for the Jackson family.

The source says Alvarez' statement contradicts what he told cops the day of Jackson's death. The source says Alvarez never told cops at the scene about hiding Propofol.

The source notes ... and we have confirmed ... Dr. Murray told cops two days after Jackson's death where the Propofol bottles could be found.

As we first reported, one of the bottles of Propofol in the closet was empty with a large tear in the rubber stopper. Law enforcement sources believe Dr. Murray may have connected the large bottle of Propofol directly into the IV and a massive amount of the drug, they believe entered Jackson's system and killed him.

carie   March 22nd, 2010 5:05 pm ET

"Murder of the second degree is similar to murder of the first degree, except the element of premeditation does not have to be proven. If a person kills while committing a felony that is inherently dangerous to human life other than arson, burglary, etc. the person will be found guilty of second degree murder. For example, if the defendant furnishes heroin to someone who uses it and dies of an overdose, the defendant probably will be charged with murder in the second degree. Under the law it is assumed that if the defendant had the specific intention to furnish the heroin, he or she had malice enough to be charged with murder. "

Susan...so the reason Murray could not be charged with second degree murder is because it cannot be 'assumed' that Murray had the 'specific intention to furnish 'propofol' ' with malice..what ass comes to this assumption??

Still me...thanks for that post...hmmmmmm.

Mila   March 22nd, 2010 5:33 pm ET

To me the Sony-MJ deal looks like a zero-risk harvesting of profits that are already certain to come.
Just look at the statistics from the article above:
"Last year, Michael Jackson sold 8.3 million albums in the United States, nearly double the albums sold by the second artist in line, Taylor Swift, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Beatles ranked third. And last week, a new album of previously unreleased tracks from Jimi Hendrix, who died in 1970, was the fourth-best selling album. "

What do these numbers tell us ?
a – Old artists sell more that new ones (even when they're not recording any more)
b – Michael Jackson sold twice as more than the most popular new artist the music industry could come up with (in the rate of $40 million!). And he did that releasing just one single new song.

Another thing to consider is that last year Michael added a whole new generation to his fans – young people who are just starting to explore his music and will continue buying his albums for a long time.

It really doesn't take a deep thinker to see that this is a sweet deal for Sony.
They'd earn their investment back (in probably less than 5 years) just from the mere fact that they will keep their rights to sell MJ's released music for another 7 years.
Apart from that they get access to 60 unreleased songs and the rights to make MJ movies (they still have all the 100 hours of rehearsal footage) and video games.

I guess they'd have to work their sabotaging magic (like they did with Invincible) in order to get this deal to be a loss for them.

I sitll haven't seen any reports or analysis on what exactly MJ's estate is going to gain from this deal. Other than the $260 mil.
Does anyone have info about the conditions of the deal ?

As for whether or not this deal will change the music industry – I don't think so – they have a long way to go to rediscovering the meaning of the words "fan" and "artist" before they'd have another one like Michael.

Just look at this:
"In his look at We7, a music streaming music service in Britain, 5 percent of the millions of available tracks accounted for 90 percent of the streamed songs. In traditional stores, he said, 20 percent of the available inventory accounted for 80 percent of the sales."

Well the old saying "Less is more" says it all here.
Sign less contracts, release less albums and use the cookie-cutter less, make sure what you do you do best – and it will definately bring more sales. That's what MJ did !

still me just a new name   March 22nd, 2010 5:33 pm ET

_____________

Under most modern statutes in the United States, murder comes in four varieties: (1) intentional murder; (2) a killing that resulted from the intent to do serious bodily injury; (3) a killing that resulted from a depraved heart or extreme recklessness; and (4) murder committed by an Accomplice during the commission of, attempt of, or flight from certain felonies.

second degree murder a non-premeditated killing, resulting from an assault in which death of the victim was a distinct possibility. Second degree murder is different from First Degree Murder which is a premeditated, intentional killing, or results from a vicious crime such as arson, rape, or armed robbery.

Exact distinctions on degree vary by state...Second-degree murder is ordinarily defined as 1) an intentional killing that is not premeditated or planned, nor committed in a reasonable "heat of passion" or 2) a killing caused by dangerous conduct and the offender's obvious lack of concern for human life. Second-degree murder may best be viewed as the middle ground between first-degree murder and voluntary manslaughter.

So it seems that the charges would be Second degree since many feel that Murray did not premeditate or intend to hurt anyone.

Personally I think the word "premeditated" is what made the difference between first and second degree murder in this case...but that is just my opinion...not an expert in law....

Connie ~ IL   March 22nd, 2010 5:33 pm ET

@ helen

They Know!!! LOL

lois48   March 22nd, 2010 5:34 pm ET

The onus of proof is on the prosecution and it would be very difficult for them to prove the higher degree, especially since he is a doctor and he already said he it was not intentional. That is why they went for the lesser charge. Basically, can you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Dr. Murray intentionally killed Michael Joseph Jackson? What was the real motive? Can you prove that real motive?? It would be a very hard case to prove, but perhaps you can research some case law by going onto the California Law Courts and search the judgment database to see if how many convictions a prosecution has won based on that charge in a similar case and then draw your own conclusions.

Thanks..and I agree, the charges should be second degree murder and not involuntary manslaughter...but as Tom M. and Aphrodite said, that would be hard to prove without reasonable doubt. Thanks again.

lois48   March 22nd, 2010 5:47 pm ET

MJ will always be on top of his game and SONY. Let the pieces fall where they may and watch to see who really needs a lesson to be learned from the business of the music industry...maybe things will turn around for the artists, but I bet some heads will have to roll first.

Mila   March 22nd, 2010 5:49 pm ET

Thanks Carie,
From what I read it didn't seem to me like there is any clothing or memorabilia involved in the deal because the estate pushed Sony back on the name and likeness and they didn't get any of it.

However, I am interested to know how much of the unreleased MJ material Sony is allowed to use.
I think it will be very unfavorable for MJ's estate if Sony is given access to all of his unreleased tracks, gets to choose the best of them to release and just simply milks the profits out of the most marketable assets without having to move a finger.
MJ's estate has a lot more than 7 years to go and they need a long-term strategy of how to remain popular and profitable.

Another things that bothers me is who is going to supervise the quality of these future releases ?
I do love the song 'This Is It" but I don't like the editing that Sony did on it and I wouldn't want them to butcher the rest of the unreleased songs the same way because for the audience this is going to be MJ – not Sony.

carie   March 22nd, 2010 5:57 pm ET

Mila
I thought the same but in one article I read it did mention memorabilia...hmmm?? Anyway, yeah, who will do quality control?? I hate the editing and 70's backup stuff done to 'This Is It'...so not MJ.

I agree...the estate needs to go through the songs themselves...but didn't Sony just get their hands on 60 unreleased songs already in addition to rights to several published albums? So I guess no one is doing the leg work. Too much going on too fast...just the way Sony would like it! And will any unreleased songs be reserved for the children?? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Judie   March 22nd, 2010 6:00 pm ET

I agree Mila future releases should be looked at carefuly.

Thanks for mentioning this (@ your 6:09 post).
I watched TII again a few days ago and this is just want I thought too. His dance moves flow so smoothly as if it's another way for him to tell the sroty/message of the song. I'm pretty sure that it all had a specific meaning to him because it's clearly not a mechanical sequence of moves that he had to memorize.
And he's so graceful at it !

By THOMAS WATKINS
The Associated Press
Monday, March 22, 2010; 6:44 PM

LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson's doctor halted CPR on the dying pop star and delayed calling paramedics so he could collect drug vials at the scene, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press that shed new light on the singer's chaotic final moments.

The explosive allegation that Dr. Conrad Murray may have tried to hide evidence is likely to be a focus as prosecutors move ahead with their involuntary manslaughter case against him.

The account was given to investigators by Alberto Alvarez, Jackson's logistics director, who was summoned to the stricken star's side as he was dying on June 25. His statement and those from two other Jackson employees also obtained by the AP paint a grisly scene in Jackson's bedroom.

Alvarez told investigators that he rushed to Jackson's room and saw the star lying in his bed, an IV attached to his leg. Jackson's mouth was agape, eyes open and there was no sign of life. Murray worked frantically, at one point performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation while Alvarez took over CPR.

Two of the star's children, Prince and Paris, came in the room and cried as they saw Murray trying to save their father. A nanny was called to usher them away and they were taken to wait outside in a vehicle.

The documents also detail an odd encounter with Murray after Jackson was declared dead at a nearby hospital. Murray insisted he needed to return to the mansion to get cream that Jackson had "so the world wouldn't find out about it," according to the statements, which provide no elaboration.

Murray's lawyer, Ed Chernoff, rejected the notion his client tried to hide drugs. He also noted Alvarez was interviewed twice by police and gave different accounts of what happened in Jackson's bedroom. During the first interview, Alvarez made no mention of being told to tidy away medicine vials.

"He didn't say any of those things, then two months later, all of a sudden, the doc is throwing bottles into the bag," Chernoff said. "Alvarez's statement is inconsistent with his previous statement. We will deal with that at trial."

Alvarez and the others who gave the statements, Jackson's personal assistant Michael Amir Williams and driver/bodyguard Faheem Muhammad, could be key witnesses should Murray go to trial. Except for the brief appearances by the nanny and the children, Alvarez and Muhammad were the only others in the room with Murray as he tried to save Jackson before paramedics arrived.

A call to Alvarez's attorney was not immediately returned.

Jackson, 50, hired Murray to be his personal physician as he prepared for a series of comeback performances in London. He was participating in strenuous rehearsals and Murray would routinely meet him at the star's home in the evening for treatments.

The Los Angeles coroner ruled Jackson's death a homicide caused by an overdose of the powerful anesthetic propofol and two other sedatives given to get the chronic insomniac to sleep. Propofol, a milky white liquid, is supposed to be administered only by anesthesia professionals in medical settings. Patients require constant monitoring because the drug depresses breathing and heart rate while lowering blood pressure, a potentially deadly combination.

Murray, 57, a cardiologist licensed in Nevada, California and Texas, has acknowledged briefly leaving Jackson's bedside the day he died but maintained from the outset that nothing he gave the singer should have killed him. It wasn't illegal for him to administer propofol, though whether he followed proper procedures while Jackson was under the influence is a key part of the case.

Alvarez, Muhammad and Williams are all represented by attorney Carl Douglas and gave their statements separately on Aug. 31 at the lawyer's Beverly Hills office. None of the three has spoken publicly about the events of June 25.

Alvarez told police he arrived at Jackson's home around 10:20 a.m. He was awaiting instructions for the day in a security trailer outside Jackson's rented mansion when, at 12:17 p.m., his phone rang. It was Williams.

Williams told Alvarez that Murray had just called to say Jackson was in trouble. Alvarez rushed into the mansion and up the stairs to Jackson's room, where he saw Murray standing at the pop star's bedside, performing CPR with one hand, according to the statements.

Alvarez asked the doctor what had happened.

"He had a reaction, he had a bad reaction," Murray replied, according to Alvarez's statement.

Murray then grabbed a few vials with rubber tops and told Alvarez to put them in a bag, Alvarez told investigators. Alvarez picked up a plastic bag from the floor and Murray put the bottles inside, then Murray told Alvarez to put that plastic bag inside a brown canvas bag, according to the account.

Alvarez said Murray then told him to remove an IV bag from a stand and put it in a blue canvas bag. He did, and noticed the bag had a connector with a milky white substance in it. Alvarez didn't say what happened to the bags, nor did he identify what was in the vials.

Two days after Jackson's death, under several hours of questioning by police, Murray eventually directed them to a closet in Jackson's bedroom. In it, they found propofol and other sedatives in a bag.

On the day Jackson died, Murray waited until the bags were filled before telling Alvarez to call 911, according to Alvarez's statement.

"I need an ambulance as soon as possible," Alvarez told a dispatcher. "We have a gentleman here that needs help and he's not breathing."

The dispatcher told Alvarez to put Jackson on the floor.

At that moment, Muhammad rushed into the room and began helping with chest compressions while Murray attempted mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Murray told the men it was his first time performing CPR, Alvarez said, though Chernoff said Murray had administered CPR many times before.

Murray then placed a dark brown machine with wires onto Jackson's fingers, Alvarez said. Police later said they found a pulse oximeter at Jackson's home, a medical device that shows heart rate and the amount of oxygen in the blood.

By 12:27 p.m., paramedics arrived at the house. According to their report, Jackson was not breathing and had no pulse at 12:29 p.m. However, Murray stated he could feel a weak pulse in Jackson's upper thigh area, Alvarez and Muhammad said.

According to the paramedic report, emergency responders tried two rounds of resuscitation attempts and were ready to discontinue treatment, but Murray said he would take responsibility and insisted resuscitation be continued in the ambulance.

At 1:07 p.m., the singer was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where doctors attempted a range of resuscitation techniques. Jackson was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m.

At the hospital, after the death had been called, Williams said he saw Murray crying.

Murray asked Williams if he or someone else could take him back to the mansion so he could pick up the cream, according to Williams' statement.

Williams said he didn't think it was a good idea for Murray to return to the house. He spoke to Muhammad and they agreed they wouldn't take Murray back. They concocted a story that police had taken all the keys to the vehicles as part of the investigation.

Murray said he would take a cab, and Williams said he saw him leave the hospital through a side door.

Hey Pat,
I am fine how are you?
I would hope that someone else will make sure that does not happen.
It's a good deal but I don't trust Sony as in any other corporation they are only in it for themselves.
Happy Monday everyone.... I think.... not a big fan of Mondays.

Judie   March 22nd, 2010 7:06 pm ET

@Anne,
This is just pathetic and that quack needs to be held accountable.
Made me sick to my stomach.

carie   March 22nd, 2010 7:18 pm ET

Hi Pat! LOL!
Amazing, hardly!! Just pointing out the obvious!! Michael was unparalleled!! He truly was perfection!!

Anne...that article made me feel sick...second degree murder is so obvious. I wonder if the part about the children is true...God, those poos things.

Judie   March 22nd, 2010 7:20 pm ET

carie, I pray they didn't see anything.

carie   March 22nd, 2010 7:23 pm ET

Judie
Ditto.
They are strong children...Michael would be so proud. The way they carried themselves at the Grammy's...they are remarkable.

pat davis   March 22nd, 2010 7:25 pm ET

Judie....I agree, I feel sick to my stomach. To hear the condition Michael body was discovered. Just plain sickening!!!!

That is why I did not, could not read the autopsy report when it was made public. I just didn't want to know.

Anne....That is an important piece of information but I feel by the time this goes to trial the stories are going to change more and more. I remember the cook saying Murray ran downstairs panicing then her and the children all huddled together praying and crying. Then I read that only Prince was called upstairs and was asked to help with CPR. Now they're saying Prince and Paris were called up then the children were taken outside to a vehicle. I don't know, this story is going to have so many different versions I feel we will NEVER know the real truth. Unfortunately there is only one person left that knows what REALLY happened June 25th. and we already know we ain't gettin' the " troot " outta him!

gigi   March 22nd, 2010 7:27 pm ET

Anne,

Hi, I finished reading that book by Lynton. In Lynton's research, he said that AEG was the one who hired Murray.

According to the article now Alvarez is saying that Prince and Paris were both upstairs "?"

Murray giving CPR on the bed, doing CPR with one hand, to Murray saying it was his first time performing CPR. Murray is a real piece of work.

Judie   March 22nd, 2010 7:27 pm ET

This is testimony from a witness that was given to police investigators presumably with his lawyer present that has been intentionally leaked from the DA's office. Not the same as a story you hear from a guest on LKL.

AEG has admitted hiring Murray at MJ's request. They were paying all MJ's living expenses. I definitely think MJ was a victim of multiple types of bigotry. My guess is that John McLain will produce the music.

Michael Jackson is and always will be a mystery to those who never had a chance to know him. And a wonder to those he did.....He is here to stay.....why is it a question. They still talk about Elvis who only took songs from other people. Why is it a question........?

Just like Tiger Woods and other blacks being slandered and dragged in the mud. MIchael never got his justice until after he was dead Even after the FBI reports came out that he NEVER abused any children. They knew it then...but nobody came out and protected him until after he was dead. Even then they didn't say it enough thats why a-holes like TED make these remarks. Susan62509   March 22nd, 2010 8:19 pm ET

I’m going to give my opinion on this newest Sony deal with the estate. Not many are going to like what I say and what I say is not against MJ personally. I am looking at this from a corporate business point of view only. MJ lived a very expensive lifestyle, he donated millions to charity, he supported the majority of his family members, paid off a $25 million dollar bankruptsy created by his parents, lawsuits, and the possibility his associates were stealing from him, etc. Unfortunately, all of this led to a debt that was higher than his incoming monies. Thus, MJ had to initiate loans. He had to use Neverland and his catalogue as collateral to obtain the loans. Those of you who own homes know that if can’t make your mortage payments, the banks will foreclose on your home, because the banks need their money in order to make their payments to their lenders. This is the same with MJ and Sony. MJ needed money & needed to provide collateral for a loan, knowing if he didn’t pay the loan back, the lender (Sony) could legally repossess the catalogue. Sony and MJ didn’t agree on the marketing aspects of Invincible, both became stubbon, and both lost financially in the end. BUT, Sony did not repossess the catalogue then or even today. MJ would borrow from one bank, then when that loan became a burden, he would go to a second bank to borrow their money to pay off the first bank. Like I pointed out in yesterday’s blog, if Sony truly wanted MJ’s catalogue, all they had to do was file a creditors claim with the estate. If the estate could not come up with the money, then Sony would be entitled to MJ’s share of the catalogue that is proportionate to the value of the loan. Currently, the estate does not have that amount of money. IMO, that is why Branca/Katz negotiated a plan with Sony which would benefit the estate and Sony. Sony signed the deal for records only. Sony is not entitled any money for MJ publishings, MJ shows (Cirque de Soleil), MJ merchandise and Sony gave up their rights to the master recordings, Sony increased the royalty rate to MJ, and Sony agreed to have the current loan by MJ reduced and refinanced. That is one unheard of deal. It is a win win contract for both sides, other than the estate will profit far more than Sony. Throughout the years that Sony has loaned MJ money, not once did MJ default but after MJ departed this world, Sony was in a perfect position to try and take the catalogue. They didn’t. I’m not a Sony lover, but from the business direction Sony and MJ had throughout the years, Sony supported MJ when it came to his loans. If Sony was in a conspiracy to kill MJ for his catalogue, they would never signed this contract and NEVER have given up the rights to MJ’s master recordings, increased MJ’s royalty rate and reduced the amount of MJ’s loan to them. I can’t find a motive for murder from the past to present date.

We may hear AEG’s name with the estate again. AEG owns the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace where Celine Dion will perform next year and also The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino. If the estate is planning a Cirque du Soleil program, it would be fitting to add some of the 02 dancers into the program.

Good evening Pat, Judie, Still Me, Anne, Carie, Suzie and Gigi.
I hope you are all well and doing great.

I noticed that some other folks on the blog today think the hearing on April 5 is going to be a trial. It will be a preliminary hearings. This is what happens in a preliminary hearing:

At the preliminary hearing, the prosecution must put on enough evidence to show there is “probable cause” to hold you for trial. The DA must prove all charges (both felonies and misdemeanors) and conduct enhancements against you at the preliminary hearing. Your attorney can, of course, cross examine any witnesses and challenge the evidence against you at the hearing. You can also file motions to suppress evidence against you. At the preliminary hearing, your right to present a defense is restricted by Penal Code section 866. You are only allowed to put on evidence that will establish an affirmative defense (such as self-defense), negate an element of the crime charged (for example, a required intent for a crime) or impeach the testimony of a witness.

carie   March 22nd, 2010 8:28 pm ET

Susan
But do you believe that Sony was the one behind the bogus lawsuits...behind the molestation racket...manipulating the ugliness? I understand that Sony put themselves in a very good position due to Micahel's inadequate management and all that you mentioned, but they also tanked Michael's Invincible album after fronting him a big loan...knowing that Michael would not be able to pay this money back without his album being successful. And if they did it that time, who know what else they manipulated in order to create a downward spiral for Micahel. I really appreciate what you say regarding all this but Sony is still very very suspect to me.

Hi Susan.....Girl, when it comes to legal matters....I always look forward to what you have to say! Your enlightment on this situation does make me feel a little better. The catalogue is something I've been in fear of Michael losing and that's because I know how much it meant to him. Your knowledge is something I really commend you on and I respect your opinion just as much. So glad to see you here 🙂 !

gigi   March 22nd, 2010 8:48 pm ET

From my recollection in Lynton's book. He said that before Michael purchased the catalogue. Michael spoke with McCartney and Yoko Ono to see if they were okay with him purchasing the catalogue. Lynton said the reports on what McCartney said about the purchase is on one had being negative and on the other hand accepting it. Lynton said McCartney's real beef wasn't with Michael owning the catalogue. It was the fact that the royalty rate paid was set so low when Paul and Lennon were youngsters by some other man can't recall his name. But Yoko Ono was always fine even happy that Michael purchased the catalogue.

excerpt:

"After Michael Jackson's deal with Robert Holmes Acourt for ATV Music it was reported Paul McCartney was furious with Jackson because of Jackson's acquisition meant that Macca lost his chance to regain control of his old songs. It is a charge that has been repeated and expanded upon down the years. All kinds of conversations, arguments, and assertions have perpetuated the myth. My information is that this is not an accurate reflection of the facts. Michael believed he should find out whether McCartney or John Lennon's widow Yoko, had any objections to him buying the catalogue. If Jackson thought either of them was against his purchase he would have pulled out of the deal but word came back that they were not." pg 11

Lynton goes on to say that McCartney and Yoko had spurned a previous opportunity to buy ATV themselves in 1981. Lynton also said that if either one of them had bought the songs themselves, the other would probably not have been pleased. And he said that its inconceivable that McCartney and Yoko could have worked together.

________________

Well, I say Sony wanted it all the ATV and Michael's back catalogue.

Gigi
I wonder if Paul will try to buy back some of the Beatle's songs via the EMI deal...it would be a great opportunity for him.
Thanks for the book segment...great stuff!

Susan62509   March 22nd, 2010 8:53 pm ET

Hi Lori:

Good to see you again.

I assumed when the arraignment judge in court said the preliminary date was set for April 5, that he meant that is when the preliminary would be heard by a judge. I thought that was one reason Cheroff has complained to the news media about not getting his copies his copies of all the reports and evidence and list of witnesses in this case.

I'm anxious to get this case started and April 5 is just around the corner. We'll know soon.

You are so kind. Thank you. The blog.......go to wordpress.com and get a user name only. You can use the same one that you use on this LKL blog if you wish. We found out this problem was occurring with others as well. Once they signed up with wordpress, the problem was resolved.

We missed you on the blog. Had a very fun weekend on it. Hope to see you when you have time.

gigi   March 22nd, 2010 9:01 pm ET

Also towards the end of Lynton's book to me it seemed like he was saying that Sony had already owned all of the ATV and Michael's recordings. Those who are legal and music industry bees will have to read the book, because that part is confusing to me.

carie   March 22nd, 2010 9:03 pm ET

I believe Sony does own the catalogue...and Michael's estate owns it on paper only. Michael was in debt and Sony had control over his debt...to the tune of that catalogue. So looking at it this way, Branca really is saving the estate for MJ3...hmmmmm...

when I say Michael's recordings. I don't think Lynton was talking about any of Michael's unreleased songs. I think he was saying that Sony already controlled the ATV and Michael's published music I guess.

Sigh....I its so confusing to much information!

TRUE-TO -YOU   March 22nd, 2010 9:15 pm ET

this journey has been simmering for a while
made some cry made some smile
many bumps along the way
emotions changing everyday
some see it as one big joke
not really hearing the message thats spoke
to fixated on the money
i do not find that this is funny
will you be there just listen to
feel the pain thats coming thru
and maybe for a little while
think of the pain and lose that smile
and if you really are a fan
thats where you start with the man
and then you can say to him
i love you more my one true king
a genius i know its true
but look what they have put him thru

i believe i will be there its all for love love is free

Let in happiness,

Susan62509   March 22nd, 2010 9:28 pm ET

Carie:
You asked if I felt Sony was behind the bogus lawsuits. No, not Sony. I think it was a personal vendetta of Sneddon to further his own personal career. Sneddon, by law, had to respond to a parent claiming their child had been abused. These wacko families just wanted money and willing to sacrfice their children in order to get it. Look at them now? Karma did them in.

With Invincible, Sony was unhappy and MJ said he wouldn't tour. Neither side was adhering to their own contract. The reason I think the way I do is because I give credit to MJ for the decisions he made. MJ liked to spend and donate, he knew he was in debt, and he signed/agreement to take the loans from Sony. If that was MJ's decision at that time, I can't blame Sony. By blaming Sony for everything all the time, IMO, that makes MJ look like he wasn't capable of making a decision. If MJ found another investor willing to loan him the money, then that investor would have the same power as Sony in holding the catalogues as collaterial. Just like last week......if the estate contracted with another distributor like Warner, then Warner would be the bad guy. If the estate would have used Warner instead of Sony, Sony would have filed a claim against the estate for the loan due to them. The estate does not have that amount of money and would have never been able to pay off the loan. Thus, that would give Sony 100% of the catalogue. If Sony has been trying to screw MJ all these years, to get the catalogue they could have done it numerous times in the last 10 years. MJ did not work to bring in an income from 2005 until 2009. That is why MJ finally decided to do the 02 concerts, to start bringing money in to pay off his debts. Sony had a decision to make since MJ died......either file a claim with the estate for the debt and own 100% of the catalogue or invest with the estate to let the estate pay off the loan at a reduced price and Sony gamble on making more money in the long run. Perhaps Sony and MJ had a falling out over Invincible, it's all in the past now. If MJ hated Sony so much he would have not accepted a loan from them a few years later. I have to let go of the Invisible era between the two and look at what transpired during the years afterwards and to date. So far, I see Sony helping (for themselves) and not hindering with MJ or the catalogue.

Many people have different opinions about Sony which is wonderful to hear the different perspectives. I try to look at it from a business point of view and have to set my MJ emotions aside. It's hard, but I want to be fair.

Susan62509   March 22nd, 2010 9:30 pm ET

Jackson’s estate will retain the rights to all the master recordings, too. This is highly unusual. Also: Branca, Katz and McClain also, apparently, renegotiated Jackson’s royalty rate with Sony for this deal. “It’s the highest rate anyone’s ever had,” says a source.

butterfly   March 22nd, 2010 9:32 pm ET

@Maura – hello there! Hope you are doing fine and being studious! Hugs xx

pat davis   March 22nd, 2010 9:33 pm ET

Susan....It's all true Susan, you're amazing. I'll go to word press and try what you said. I'll see be back on your site soon!

gigi....I don't know but I can remember seeing Paul McCartney back in the day when that happened. When asked his opinion on Michael Jackson owning their music he replied with " no comment " , and not in a good way. He was not okay with Michael purchasing the rights to the Beatle's catalogue. In fact I always thought he and Yoko Ono never got along....even now. I don't know who this guy is but I disagree with those statements, I do.

Susan62509   March 22nd, 2010 9:34 pm ET

Other music executive opinions:

Bob Sillerman, chairman/CEO of CKX, which oversees Presley's estate, doesn't view the contract as much of a gamble because of Jackson's unique appeal. "If their experience with the Jackson catalog is anything like our experience with the Elvis catalog - where ... there has been a treasure trove of unreleased material and the ability to repackage material - then the label and the estate have done something unique and will be immensely successful."

A senior executive at another major label agrees that the deal is a wise investment, while observing that the speed at which it was completed suggests "just how much debt pressure there must be on the heirs." The executive adds that "the important thing now is for Sony to handle the assets and fans with care and respect and not overlook the demand at the moment."

Sustaining interest in any legacy act in the long term remains a challenge. But not every legacy act carries Jackson's cachet. "This deal shows you the power of the Michael Jackson brand," says Larry Mestel, CEO of Primary Wave Music Publishing, which owns a stake in Kurt Cobain's song catalog. "There are only a handful of artists who have that type of power. That's why Sony was very smart to make that deal."

Lori - Justice for Michael   March 22nd, 2010 9:35 pm ET

hmmmm and there is always a source...and he/she/it never has a name...

I don't think Sony would have been able to claim ownership of the catalogue by filing a creditor's claim against the estate. There is no guarantee that the court would have awarded that asset to them if the estate was not solvent with so many other creditors lined up and the catalogue being the major asset, and the needs of the MJ3 to provide for. But fortunately the estate is not bankrupt.

Thank you...really, thank you. You help me to see things without getting my emotions and irrational thinking in the way!! LOL!! It makes sense now...and Sony and Michael were like snippy relatives after 30 years...well, maybe not quite...but you know what I mean. And when thinking of Michael accepting that loan...did he have a choice? That is where I question Sony's motives...if Michael exhausted all avenues for cash, then Sony knew they had Michael where they wanted him...???

Sneddon was evil...why did he have such a vendetta against Michael??? Why?? He really hated Michael. Was it to further himself, or to salvage his reputation after the failed '93 charges??

Why would Alverez stop performing CPR or not call 911 and instead help Murray 'clean up'?? I mean, Michael is laying there in distress (or so Murray wants us to believe...but he was already dead) and Alverez helps the good ole doc dispose of the evidence?? Why didn't he tell Murray to go to hell and call 911?? Just sickening!!

Well, I've been aware of McCartney and Yoko dislike for each other from a documentary I had seen when I was little. The whole McCartney thing in regards to the catalogue has always been vague to me. I was kid when all this happened so obviously I don't know how things played out in the public. Everyone has different story on this situation has well.

Lynton does say strange things to me in his book. He said the Michael started saying that he was solely responsible for Thriller and was discrediting Quincy's involvement. I have no idea where Lynton got this from. Because I have always read and heard Michael always acknowledging Quincy and everyone he had worked with for that matter.

Susan62509   March 22nd, 2010 10:06 pm ET

Lori:
I just read your comment about Jerry Brown. That is excellent news. Appears the medical board is not going to wait for the trial to get CM's license removed, but expedite themself. Remember how the lady representing the medical board was at the arraignment trying to expedite the process through that judge?

Now, medical board go after Klein and the rest of them.

pat davis   March 22nd, 2010 10:16 pm ET

gigi....Exactly....I've never heard Michael not give credit to anyone who had anything to do with any of his music achievements. Especially Quincy Jones. Michael was just not that kind of guy. So, I don't know. It's just a big mess isn't it?

So agree with all that you said. I have to put Michael emotions aside when trying to figure out all this Sony business. That period is in the past and there is Sony's side and Michael's side. They both helped each other in this business.

Re: the stories from today regarding CM. I do hope and pray that Prince and Paris were not in their father's room on June 25th experiencing that nightmare. No amount of therapy will help them get that image out of their mind.

"Alvarez told investigators that he rushed to Jackson's room and saw the star lying in his bed, an IV attached to his leg.

A nanny was called to usher them away and they were taken to wait outside in a vehicle."

Why would they be releasing "details" prior to the trial instead of keeping them under lock and key? I guess they are releasing them to make sure Murray walks. 😉 And so far the "details" have been nothing but comedic, certainly not "SAD" if you "read" them.

Invincible did not tank. It sold 2 million copies. Is that double platinum??? Sony wanted MJ to tour to promote the album.
The amount of sales was low for MJ.

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 12:01 am ET

Helen- If CM ends up going to jail/prison it will be for prescribing pills/meds to MJ that he shouldn't of had to begin with. Then there is what happened to James Brown ( I beleive it was James Brown) who MJ cared about deeply who had CM for a doctor as well. Where CM is concerned, it is one great big tangled web.

Invincible was a huge success.! The critics "deemed it a failure" because they were comparing it to sales of Thriller which was always unfair. Once the critics "deemed it a failure" then sales declined but it sold a massive 5.4 million copies in the first two months and to date has sold 12,000,000 copies. No other artist came close to those kind of sales during the early 2000s. The critics deeming it a failure just once again showed the conspiracy to destroy him, but he is and always has been a success that cannot be matched.

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 12:18 am ET

Helen- Very true. I will just be glad when it is all done and over with and MJ shows himself being very much Alive. I do know one thing when CM has his hearing/trial things will turn very nasty on here (the blogs). I do not look forward to the bloodbath, because the blogs will be a bloodbath.

am going to ask you to do something in Michael's name...

I just received word from one of my publisher contacts that they will feature my Weapons of Mass Destruction article and a tribute to Michael that I wrote for them.

This publisher and venue is an international humanitarian and peace organization with a long reach and readers all over the world. They are going to try to get this work the most exposure they can and they will aggressively promote it.

I am excited that the publisher recognized the importance of this work. And it's the perfect place to launch from– a place that stands for peace, justice, charity and non-violence– all the things that Michael stood for. I would like to post the publisher's link soon on Inner Michael but I need to know it's safe to do that. I need to know that if people go to see the article, that they will be respectful and keep in mind what these "Voices" stand for– making peace in the world.

The WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) piece is about many people who have been harmed by unscrupulous journalists– not just Michael. The thing about WMDs is that they aren't personal, they're impersonal– they don't care who they kill. They just spread the poison to anybody who's downwind. Michael just happened to be downwind. Whoever is in the spotlight is downwind today... Diana, Vince Foster, Martin Luther King, John Lennon and Yoko Ono... The list goes on... and on...

In my tribute I talked about Michael Jackson fans and how they were being in the world. And just as the publlisher and I were working out all the logistics and she was telling me how they plan to promote it... I got emails telling me that fans are making war with one another.

What? Michael Jackson fans? In Michael's name? About MICHAEL? WHAT? Michael's work was about ENDING WARS and making the world a better place not warmaking with others.

What is this war about? Opinions? Beliefs? Do you know how many wars were started on this planet because humans made the guy with another viewpoint the enemy?

An opinion or a belief is an idea in someone's mind! Opinions evolve, they change, they are proven wrong, revised, re-thought, recinded, and clarified all the time. You are the only you that you can be. That is the you that you're being right now. In the future you could be a totally different person! That's true for all of us. Experience is supposed to make us wiser and more generous. Our beliefs will evolve too.

The "Right and wrong" game on this planet has caused a lot of wars, suffering and death here. Let's wind down this game- making war over beliefs. If you are having discussion or discourse, be civil. If you are insulted by someone else's stance, move away from them. "Beat It" and hang out with those you do resonate with. Don't get out your weapons. And as a wordsmith I can tell you words are weapons.

When I was informed of what was going on in the MJ camp, I said: "This can't be true! This sounds too much like the 'haters.' Wow, let's not go there. Opinions come and go but Michael's message remained the same all the way through.. even while threading his way through the minefields of his life: "No more war! We need to put a little love back into the world."

Have beliefs or opinions ever been wrong? Revised? Regretted? Of course...

"The earth is flat."
"The sun revolves around the earth."
"Disease occurs because God is angry; sickness is a punishment from God."
"A black will never be elected president; America is not ready for it."
"The moon is made of cheese."
"Nothing can go faster than the speed of sound."
"There's no such thing as global warming."
"The Berlin Wall is permanent."
"Michael Jackson harms children."

Opinion is your private version of reality. And someone else's belief is their private version of reality. That does not make it truth. It only threatens you if you believe it does. (And now you've just layered another belief on top of that last one.) We are one, it's true. But we are individuated parts of the One. The thing about humans is they forget who they really are when they are born. And until we remember– we forget.

So are you...
Causing Grief In Human Relations?
It's A Turf War On A Global Scale?
I'd Rather Hear Both Sides Of The Tale
See, It's Not About Races
Just Places
Faces
Where Your Heart (Blood) Comes From
Is Where Your Space Is!
I've Seen The Bright Get Duller
I'm Not Going To Spend
My Life Being "Another." (A Color)

We are ONE! And until we can recognize that: we all cry at the same time tonight- INSIDE.

Are Michael Jackson fans about "love" or not? Is it "all for love" or not? Because if it's not about love and peacemaking and being humanitarians and the "major wave" to create the new and improved human race, then my voice is outta here.

I realize that these are difficult times; I know the grief is huge; I know that Dr. Murray's coming trial is on the minds of Michael's people; I know that the media continues to hammer Michael's memory with negativity; I know there are people still trying to use his name with their own hidden agenda. I know, I know. None of this is easy. The human race is a work in progress– that means me and you.

It's up to you and me to make it unpopular to smear Michael or hurt anybody with made up garbage. We make something unpopular by elevating its opposite and making it cool. So now.. Help me sing it!

I was so upset upon hearing about the fighting and wars that someone had to tell me to tone it down. This is not my first draft of this message! So I had to revise and rethink. And I will share with you my fear that I will be disappointed because we blew an opportunity to make a difference. So I was coming from fear. And that led to anger. So I had to take a deep breath and start over too!

I know that Michael never gave up believing in humanity. So if he can do it, I can. He was steadfast in his committment through some of the most difficult times a person could ever encounter. Even in the darkness Michael held his light. Did you forget that you are a light? You don't prefer darkness, do you? So who are you being in the world in this moment? Are you being who Michael asked you to be?

Here is what I wrote about Michael Jackson and Michael Jackson fans...

"If one digs underneath the hype, sensationalism and medialoid portrayal of Jackson, one finds a visionary and true humanitarian. If one looks beyond the label of "crazed" attributed to his fans, one finds mostly intelligent, thoughtful people who quite possibly are the greatest legacy he left this world. As the world's most famous and visible global humanitarian and cheerleader, he leaves behind a worldwide family of 250 million admirers who are take his teachings seriously. Michael always said his fans were his legacy. Many in the media have given them a cursory dismissal because of the "fan" label. But they got the message and they mean to be the change they want to see in the world and make it a better place. They are an army of humanitarians who are being the change. They mobilize themselves and resources for causes like the earthquakes in Haiti and Chile and others. They got Michael's message and are weaving it into their lives.

Perhaps it's time Michael Jackson is recognized for who he really was and not for the media frenzied and tabloid portrayal that pandered to a sophomoric public drunk and fixated on the cult of celebrity. His genius is there for anyone who wants to take a closer look, who wants the truth and not the tabloid caricature version. If he were recognized for his real accomplishments we would see an unappreciated visionary and genius, a spiritual teacher among us who was hiding in plain sight and masquerading as a Moonwalking Maker of Magic. If you feel impelled at all to take a closer look you may find your mouth agape and your surprise staggering. And you might even come to understand the Force that was Michael Jackson; then the real legend continues."
I meant that when I wrote it and I want to mean it now. When this work is released, and if you go to the publisher's website: I need you make REASONABLE, INTELLIGENT AND THOUGHTFUL short comments because that is who I said you were– reasonable, thoughtful and intelligent.

It is very important that we are on our best behavior. No rants. No sarcasm. (Sarcasm is thinly veiled violence. No "I love you forever MJ and I miss you..." (Save that for fan forums.) No conspiracy stuff. (Not with Peacekeepers.) And notice that the WMD article is NOT just about Michael Jackson so don't make it just about Michael.

The tribute IS about Michael but once again, I ask you to be thoughtful and careful about your comments. Talk about how you admire Michael's courage in taking on the issues and how committed he was to changing the world. Again, save the gushing for fan forums.

Above all– don't prove "them" right about Michael Jackson fans being crazy. And don't make me wrong- I want to believe in us. I am staking my reputation on it. Make Michael proud and be the change he asked you to be.

This particular mission is about getting back the integrity of journalism and exposing the violence and harm that can be wielded with words. So...DO NOT GO THERE AND ADD MORE VIOLENCE!

@ Patty Anderson

That's a beautiful thing you are doing. I commend on that. I for one, however, believe that Michael has way more than 250 million fans but I suppose you had to pick a reasonable number. 😉

Helen- Hubby and I went out to eat Monday night and there was a little boy about 4 years of age telling his mom that he can do the moonwalk like Michael Jackson. So there is a younger generation of Michael Jackson fans out there.

Legions of new fans. Also, about Invincible, if the critics had praised that album for being one of Michael's best works, I think it would have sold at least 25 million copies. For anyone who does not own it, they should! It is incredible. Never speaking the "truth" about The Man is a crime in my book, but payback is coming. 😉

carebear   March 23rd, 2010 12:49 am ET

@Helen

As far as CDs go, "Invincible" is one of my favourite Michael Jackson CDs. 🙂

Of course, Michael can change the music industry around and for the better!!!!!!!

Goodnight!

does anyone know when Aphrodite's MJ episode is going to be aired?

She was on Jane Velez's show last week. She hardly got a chance to speak. I wonder if anyone in the media will have her on their show to talk about her MJ program. Something tells me I doubt it, because she really does call out how the media acted during that whole case.

lola   March 23rd, 2010 12:55 am ET

New info is just coming out on the case......Alvarez is spilling his guts. He claims Murray intercepted CPR on Michael to hide medical vials and delayed calling 911. Murray is looking very bad and very guilty....it is looking more and more like murder #2 and not man slaughter. Alvarez's comments contradict his original testimony back in June.

Before, I leave the biog. for the night, I just want to add that Michael is alive! I'm waiting for Bamsday! Evven if this day never occurs, I know he's alive and hiding in plain sight. This is the reason we were provided with the clues.

God bless and Goodnight, 🙂

It's a complete lie, why do people buy these papers? It's not the truth I'm here to say. You know, don't judge a person, do not pass judgement, unless you have talked to them one on one. I don't care what the story is, do not judge them because it is a lie.

It is supposed to be April 29th and I highly doubt anyone will have her on as a guest to promote it because after all, she is going to tell the "truth" about the conspiracy against him, and the media considers that a "crime."

I'm off too. Goodnight ladies. Will wake up to another interesting day in the greatest show on earth, tomorrow. I'm sure! 🙂

dazzle   March 23rd, 2010 1:16 am ET

ibelieve25   March 23rd, 2010 1:18 am ET

@ maria
Nice to see you as well..have been busy with my family and dealing with issues at home. If people really don't believe that we need to heal this world, then please come see me at Rhonda's...let me tell you about my 15 yr. old son and his friend walking home from the movies. How they were attacked by a group of kids about the same age. The game was hit the b*****or suck D***. This is the world we live in..where a kid can't walk home 6 blocks. They learn it from the adults..just look here for examples of hatred, petty bickering, and those who are just down right mean. Look at the intolerance on one blog. This is the sad state of the world today. We have to change it, for the children if not for ourselves. They shouldn't live in fear to be able to go outside to play. Then on Sunday, a 16 year old was shot answering his front door. The reason? Because he told on a group of kids who were going around beating up other kids, just like the case of my son. That young man died this morning. He moved to the peaceful mid west from NY, as his parents thought they could get him away from this violent behavior, and he gets shot at his own front door during his 5 yr. old brother's birthday party. When will it ever stop? When WE make that change, that's when.

lola   March 23rd, 2010 1:19 am ET

According to Alvarez, both Paris and Prince were in the room and observed Murray trying to revive Mj, but he was too late. The kids were crying before the nanny was called in to remove them from the room. Alverez said Murray told him he had never performed CPR before but told the police that he performed it many times in the past. Murray sdlipped out of the back door at the hospital to return to the mansion to gather a "mysterious cream" that belonged to Mj that he didn't want any one to know about, although he is now telling everyone about it.......The IV was hooked up to MJ's leg....no monitor in sight. This is breaking news.

lola   March 23rd, 2010 1:32 am ET

This account of Alverez is nauseating. It shows Murray more concerned about tampering and hiding evidence than saving Mj's life....If this is not murder, what is???????Murray did not use the oximeter on Mj until Mj was in trouble or possibly already dead.

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 1:34 am ET

War Brewing over MJ's 'Thriller' Musical
Michael Jackson is coming to Broadway, whether his estate likes it or not ... at least that's what the most famous Broadway family says.

Nederlander Presentations has filed a creditor's claim, but it's not asking for money. Nederlander wants the probate judge to tell the executors they have no choice but to honor a contract Michael Jackson inked in 2008 for a musical stage play featuring music from "Thriller" and "Off the Wall."

The production hit a major road bump last year, when John Landis sued Michael Jackson, claiming MJ couldn't make a deal for the musical without his sign off. Landis directed "Thriller." That suit is pending.

Howard Weitzman, legal guru for the MJ estate, tells TMZ, "I've seen their creditor's claim. I don't agree with their request."

@ lola....I agree, as much as I don't want to think it was murder, it really seems that way. And who knows maybe Murray did act alone. Maybe this guy really didn't like Michael Jackson at all. Maybe he did just gain his trust and took advantage of his position. I don't know. But something just isn't right.

@ibelieve25.....Hi ibelieve, I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your son and his friends. I have a son too and I worry every time he's out with his friends for a long period of time without calling, or if he comes home late. The world is nothing like it was when I was growing up. The violence has increased on so many levels. I hope your son and his friends bounce back from that horrible experience and you as well.

I know the world is in a bad place especially when a teenager gets shot in the chest 4 times in his own front door. Why? For standing up to bullies. He did the right thing and it cost him his life. My son was also standing up to bullies who were attacking his friend. He just got hurt in the process..when it's 7 against 2 the odds are not in your favor.

mj believer... how many kids do you have? I don't know if this is too personal or not. You will have to guide me... sorry if it is....

mjbeliever   March 23rd, 2010 2:39 am ET

@lovin...not addicting to me....I got over that along time ago...I come here when I am told there are people I want to say hello to are here...I do my life and job and then my site.......I have learned a lot since I had my heart attack.....Trust Me...

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 2:39 am ET

Lovin mj- My great grandparents, grandparents and parents believed that raising kids was a 24/7 job. One they loved as well as believed in and that is how they raised me (I am 51 and my step daughter was brought up to believe the same as I do). Now adays parents don't see it that way and kids are getting into trouble and are having problems. Instead of taking care of and seeing to their children 24/7 they are on the internet playing. Just my opinion.

@ Marguerite

You are correct. Our children need our guidance and love. People are very lucky to have children. My one child was killed several years ago... I cannot have any more... Parents do not know how lucky they are....

pat davis   March 23rd, 2010 2:43 am ET

lovin-mj.....30 years from now! Now that's a scary thought! I can't even imagine!

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 2:44 am ET

30 years is not that far in the future... 🙂

pat davis   March 23rd, 2010 2:46 am ET

lovin-mj.....I'm so sorry to hear that you lost a child. My heart goes out to you.

Kat   March 23rd, 2010 2:47 am ET

It's really disappointing what has happened here tonight. Personal attacks should never be part of this blog. Where did all the love go. I'm shocked..to say the least.

mjbeliever   March 23rd, 2010 2:49 am ET

@Kat...I am still spreading all my love no matter what......

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 2:49 am ET

@ pat davis

Thanks. I am still dealing and coping with it all. Still waves of emotions at times...

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 2:49 am ET

Lovin mj– I feel for you because I also have also burried 3 kids. If my children were alive they would be 33, 31 and 30 years of age this year. But I was lucky in having a step daughter to raise and she feels the same way I do about kids being 24/7. The way she sees it she will have tiem to play on the internet when all her children are raised.

My heart goes out to you. You fully understand. I am so very sorry... As you know, a death of a child is very painful and difficult to recover from. I understand where your coming from. I am also helping to raise someone else's child ... it helps to fill the void...

mjbeliever   March 23rd, 2010 2:55 am ET

@Kat.....forever and always my friend....

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 2:57 am ET

I can understand how Michael Jackson's siblings and family feel... the loss is always so great with the death of a loved one

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 2:59 am ET

lovin mj- Thank you and yes I do understand. No one can take your children's place. I saw my step daughter as a gift from God and considered myself very blessed in being able to help raise her. It just makes me mad to see how parents raise their kids now adays, they don't realize how lucky and blessed they are. There children should be their first priority and that is 24/7. Time to play comes after the kids are raised. MJ is lucky he has his children with him 24/7 and when they do go running around without him they have bodyguards watching over them.

@Lovin, Marguerite.........I too have lost a child and buried a grandchild when he was 18 days old....I know the pain all to well.....I thank God everyday for my children that I have and there is nothing more precious to me than my children....They are my life and have always been.....

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 3:07 am ET

@ Marguerite

I feel the same way. I am shy and everyone says too kind and gentle. I was that way with my son. I was always there. But I also understand that sometimes 24/7 we need a break. As the kids become older, they have their own friends...I think as long as the children know you love and respect them even though you may not like their behaviors... its still OK...

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 3:11 am ET

@ mjbeliever

I am so sorry... my heart goes out to you ... ... How do you cope with your loss? I find it very hard at times.

Grandchildren, I will never have... 😦 only in my dreams...

I find it very interesting that three of us here have experienced a tragic loss.

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 3:13 am ET

mjbeliever & lovin- My first 2 children were still born (full term pregnancys) and my last child I burried was crib death at 3 months 6 days. But they were stiull my flesh and blood which I loved dearly. Now maybe you understand why I get pissed at parents now adays. They have no idea how lucky they are and how precious their children are. Instead of seeing to them 24/7 they are on the internet playing and out partying when their children should be their first priority 24/7 until they reach 18 and are on their own.

lovin-mj & Marquerite....I sympathize with the both of you. Losing a child is the worst pain there is. That is a loss that you will never get over. Life goes on but it will never be the same. They say that everything happens for a reason, but when a child is taken away from us, it is hard to understand why and we may never know why. My heart goes out to the both of you.

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 3:17 am ET

@ Marguerite I can understand your anger and pain. It is difficult to have such a tragic loss and see other people with children ...

My son was killed in a car accident.

I want to thank both of you Marguerite and mjbeliever. Thank you for sharing this. Sometimes I feel all alone with this pain... like I was the only one who experienced it. Thank you so very much....

I have to go to sleep, I work tomorrow. But I will be back. Thank You! Thank all of you!

lovin-mj....Actually there are four of us here that have lost children. I too have lost children. Two. A boy and a girl. In a house fire. It's been 10 years now. My life has not been the same since.

I guess we have more in common than Michael Jackson after all.

mjbeliever   March 23rd, 2010 3:24 am ET

I've gotten much better because it's been so many years but I still hard time from Thanksgiving through New Years. It's something you never get over. I'm shocked to see that I am not alone here. God Bless Us All.

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 3:38 am ET

@ Pat, mjbeliever, Marguerite

There is a deep connection we have from this pain. I felt the need to come in tonight. I did not know why... but I do now. I will always remember this conversation and how everyone has touched me. I hope that when any of you are in pain... that I can be here to support you....

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 3:43 am ET

@ Pat

I also have problems with holidays. I hate them... lol I am so happy when January 2 or 3 rolls around. I can put the pain behind me for a while. Yes, I suspect we will all take it to our graves. Some days better than others.. some years better than others... Funny, I feel like I have found a family in a strange way talking to everyone here. Such an odd feeling....

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 3:46 am ET

Pat Davis- Please know you are not alone my friend.

Lovin mj- God brought you to the blog for a reason my friend. I am glad I was able to help you my friend.

Someone told me something a long time ago and there is some truth to it.. No matter how bad you have it there is someone somewhere that has it worse than you do. The day I lost my last child to crib death, I was alone at home when I found her. There was a couple outside doing some work on the partment I lived in. I went to them asking for help. I found out later that day that that couple had lost 10 children to death themselves. They said they almost didn't come to the apartment building to work that day but they had felt a need to be there that day. They told me that it had been God that had put them there that day when I needed them.

lovin-mj....Yes this is very unusual. This is something that I never planned to share here but it just seemed to be the right time. Like it was meant to be. I know you have to go, but I will never forget this conversation. Marquerite is right, this is something we'll never get over. But knowing that you're not alone makes the pain a little easier at times. My heart is touched as well. Good night mj.

Republicans calls the health bill a " baby killer," with what they proposed a lot more people would die without health coverage. Now that's a real killer- denying affordable health insurance to the public.

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 3:56 am ET

@ Marguerite

What a painful experience finding your child. I am thankful, you had someone there that supported you in some way. Yes, regardless of the pain, there are always those who had it worse.

I just want to express from my heart what a difference meeting everyone in here and the impact on me. Sharing our pain helps. Especially with those who truly understand.

Maybe that is the true connection... our pain... and our hearts... I hope that when you are struggling with this pain and emotion, you would share it. and not suffer in silence

lovin-mj   March 23rd, 2010 4:01 am ET

@ Pat

I certainly did not intend to come in here and drop a bomb about the loss of my child... it just happened.. I just followed my heart.

You are all so sweet and kind... it is hard to leave... but I must...

And this I can promise you, I will never forget this conversation and the connection I feel with all of you.

Thank You..

Loving mj- It was a long time ago, a lifetime ago for me. But the pain is something that never leaves, you just learn to accept it and live with it. I am just glad I was able to help you as others helped me that day a long time ago.

There is always a connection between people, but finding that connection means opening yourself to them. I hope that makes sense.

You are right...I meant according to Michael's standards...that album did fabulously...again, my bad.

Funny how a loss is felt by so many yet not acknowledged for Katherine. She lost her child...and she is feeling that pain, just like my mother and apparently many here. Time to acknowledge Katherine's pain...she is grieving the loss of her so, Michael.

RIP MJ
1958-2009
Peace.

Good morning everyone,

True that was just beautiful thank you for sharing.

Pat the posts from last night were touching I have learned so many things on these blogs since June and I continue to learn each and every day.Thank you all for sharing your stories.

pat davis   March 23rd, 2010 9:07 am ET

@ carie....7:16.....I must agree with you here. From a mother who did lose two, I would be very upset if someone was saying my children were not deceased, knowing they are. It would be very painful to feel that such a horrible occurance could be looked upon as a show of some kind. This is not a joke, it is reality and for those of us who have lost, it's a reality that we will live with the rest of our lives. I know exactly how Mrs. Jackson feels right now.....Helpless, because nothing she does is going to bring her son back. Life is only temporary....Death is permanent.

I wonder if Petrus introduced a few young boys to MJ? Or did they fix his nose so he looks human again.

He is dead for nine month, leave the guy in peace!

Maria Copelli   March 23rd, 2010 10:10 am ET

@All,Good morning to you All!And I sincerely hope wherever or whatever we do today we will have ameasure of good health ,and peace ,and *smil
This morning I am sipping my Earl Grey Tea,and after reading some of the Heartfelt comments,I feel lie I too should share something. My eldest Brother the one who brought a horse home one day ,so long ago and took the time to teach me the basics of riding ahorse ,bareback too,has terminal pancreatic cancer.I go to visit him in his him home, and as soon as I walk in the room ,he sits up ,with the little strength he has ,and says ,'How are you doing 'sis'?.Now here is a man who is retired ,but still worded every day ,washing pots,in somelocal establishments.Just to have some extra money for his wife /2 stepchildren, who he has put through college. Now when he is supposed to be happily retierd ,he just lies in his bed cobered up with 6 blankets, becaues he now weighs 120 lbs ,from 190 in just 2 mths time!He thought he was just having stomach aches and sort of ignored the symptoms.
So on Mondays ,this is where I go to see my brother ,yes the one,who would take me every where he went ,and he would play the Temptations,Smokey Robinson ,etc for me while we went on errands,so long ago .So now what can I do for my dying brother? He has everything he materially needs. So I decided I would do for him what I would want for someone to do for me.And that is to offer them HOPE! Reassure them of All the wonderful hopes I hold dear to my heart ,yes my imperfect heart. So I chose achilds book called 'My Book Of Bilble Stories',It explains the Bible with beautiful illustrations, etc,it is really for a child ,but did I tell you all that my bros quit school at 15,and never learned to read?He was illiterate to a degree, and I used to sit with him when I was 5th grader and I would enjoy teaching him,my oldest brother how to read ! It made me feel so needed,as theyoungest of 8 ,I felt so grown! He sat there and would repeat the words I would show him! Yes he was getting it now.....Now as I sit next to my big brother and share this childs book ,so simple to read and he alwys rallies around just to see the illustrations,of the earth as beautiful Paradise (garden Like place ) on earth! He sees the happy faces of families and friends greeting those who have fallen 'ASLEEP' in death!Parents with their arms wide opened to greet their Loved ones who were Asleep in Death! He esp .enjoys this part of tha book, and most important I always tell him, these promises are not from humans ,who can dissapoint us ,these promises are from God,Titus 1;2 there it reminds us that 'God cannot Lie'! So this week we will read a little bit more, and I long to see him smile, and say ,'Can I see that picture again 'sis'? And hopefull I will say 'Yes ,and I see you yes you right there myour'e the one riding bareback,up the hills ,the young man smiling and waving to everyone, off you go to have ahappy day and best of all NO more stomach 'aches for you ....ever !' Please read Revelation 21;3,4 Isaiah 25;8 and be encouraged . Lovingly said ,from my heart Maria C.

Michael Jackson is still breaking records. Not bad for a dead person. But I suppose, who would of thought otherwise.......afterall, Michael was unique.

As for the MJ deal turning around the music industry......I wonder? Maybe it's an end of an era. Quite honestly, I don't know what will turn around the music industry........I can't see into the future.

Hello to you. Just read your heartfelt comments and very sorry to hear about your brother. I think I have that book too called "My Book of Bible Stories", and I think it is a Jehovah's Witness one. I am sure this book is very reassuring for your brother and will offer him some comfort.

Yes, there is hope for a Paradise Earth once again and we look forward for that time. Thank you and God Bless.

Yes, I will never forget the day back in the late 70s I think........when neighbours of ours lost their child to cot death. I will never forget the screams of the mother and to see the lifeless body of the child........and to feel so helpless. Just horrible.

Living is learning every day, we can not predict the next day, nor what awaits us, with his words became more clear to me that we must treasure every second of our lives, we live deeply in love and understanding, so let it saved in all we love little moments, but very important, seeing you talk about your brother I remembered that last Saturday I was in my mother's house and the house was being cleaned, my children were slipping on the soap and I had the memory of I and my brother did the same thing, was very good to remember my childhood ...
Your brother will be in my prayers

God bless you and your family
L.O.V.E you

I WILL BE THERE

@Timeless March 23rd, 2010 8:25 am ET

Thanks for the video "Stop the Insanity". It was very well put together and is so true. We (people) really do need to wake up to things.

Maria Copelli   March 23rd, 2010 11:34 am ET

Rebeka,How thoughtful you are to comment back to me,and I appreciate it deeply. It is hard to go and visit ,this humble ,hard working man.So when he asks me how I am ,I just say 'I am doing fine ,it is you I want to see doing fine again'.And he will enjoy 'Perfect' health one day ,sooner than we imagine!!All things are possible with our Loving creator, just stop and realize how fast the earth spins ,and we do not even feel it,do we?So now imagine ..........Love Maria C.
Perfection.......

@Marguerite March 23rd, 2010 12:18 am ET

Helen- Very true. I will just be glad when it is all done and over with and MJ shows himself being very much Alive. I do know one thing when CM has his hearing/trial things will turn very nasty on here (the blogs). I do not look forward to the bloodbath, because the blogs will be a bloodbath.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

There has already been enough of them on these blogs already. Lol.

Marguerite   March 23rd, 2010 3:37 pm ET

Everyone- Thank you my friends for your kind words.

True- What a beautiful poem. Thank you.

Maria C- Thank you for sharing and I can feel your pain.

Timeless- Thank you for the video, there is a lot of truth in it.

I am Alice in Wonderland and I am now down in the rabbit hole enjoying the show.

When you keep your mouth shut, your eyes and ears wide open, things become a lot clearer.

People think they know me, but they don't. Not really. Actually, I am one of the loneliest people on this earth. I cry sometimes, because it hurts. It does. To be honest, I guess you could say that it hurts to be me.
Michael Jackson

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Makes me want to cry when I read this. Can feel what he's trying to convey. It is very brave for him to come out like this. In other words, bear his soul.

Just hope and pray that he is in a better place now.

God Bless You Michael & Your Family

Rebeka Davis - Recife - Brasil   March 23rd, 2010 7:06 pm ET

It hurts my soul every time I see this comment ...
If I had a desire to do, would not ask Michael to be happy at all, because there is no complete happiness, disappointments are part of life, to help us grow, happiness is made up of little moments, just have to identify them and enjoy these happy moments ... I would ask that his solitude would end completely

Michael
I WILL BE THERE...JUST FOR YOU

@butterfly March 22nd, 2010 9:49 pm ET

Just as President Obama pulled off the Health Bill reform, so too can Michael Jackson pull the strings to bring about changes in those areas where he sees injustices.

Michael...L.O.V.E.* November 8th, 2009 11:46 pm ET

@ Kindness
Change. Lots of changes. Changes for the better. Changes in my life. Changes in your life. Changes in the world around us. A change of heart worldwide to the point that we realize we are all "one." Changes for our planet and our environment. Changes in the laws regarding those issues. Changes in the medical profession and the writing of prescriptions. Changes in the laws regarding those issues. Changes in the music industry and how industry business is conducted and structured. Changes in the film industry and how movies are conceived. Change. Lots of changes.

It's all for love...L.O.V.E. I love you all. I really do.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We already know that MJ is a SAINT.

If he can pull all this off........WOW......and BAD-TIME TOO, I say. Bravo!

I just want to comment on the........"Changes in the film industry and how movies are conceived". Well, the "Alice In Wonderland" movie is out at the moment.......and I believe it is very well-done. What gets to me..........is the story behind "Alice In Wonderland"........it seems to me to be a bit sinister, I think. And isn't it supposed to be classed as a childrens's movie.

There is a scene in the movie........where the Queen says......."off with someone's head, etc., etc. I don't think this is very good to portray to children. It gave me the shivers just watching it. There are others as well, I can't bring to mind at the moment.

But no, these types of things need to be looked at. Need to restore wholesomeness back.

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   March 23rd, 2010 9:11 pm ET

I forgot to add that maybe this could be MJ's true calling and the music was just a stepping-stone to it. He is probably destined for more in this world.

Just want to comment more on what you have written here. It is just an amazing piece of work. I think it needs to be framed and hung up somewhere.

As you have pointed out, his fans shouldn't pass up this opportunity we have now of making a difference. These blogs are part of it and just the start.

As Michael has said........THE BEST IS YET TO COME! Bring it on!

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   March 24th, 2010 12:09 am ET

I wonder where the big reveal will be?........LAS VEGAS!?.....

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   March 24th, 2010 12:13 am ET

Yes, of course, above all, we would want him to enjoy his life, whichever way he sees fit.

Maria Copelli   March 25th, 2010 9:06 am ET

Jesse,@12;13 a.m. I agree Loving someone means unselfish behaviour,so I feel that what ever Michael has chosen to do ,he knows what HE needs above all.He has given soooooo much ,isnt it time he did something he will enjoy ?We take our lives for granted ,we can step outside and not be photograped,we can go to the grocery storeand look anyway we choose, maybe not an ounce of makeup ,because we just gert tired of being 'ON',for others .Michael rarely had that freedom.I hate being photographed ,I cant even begin to imgagine the many freedoms he gave up ,to entertain all of us.In short I hopw he feels free.I hope it is some place woth NO name.Aplace of tranquility.......for HIM. Love to you Maria C.

Thank you

MJ did not get along with Sony. No one would listen when he spoke out against them. The Artist Prince had changed his name and asked fans not buy any of his music from Sony a few years ago. He begin to use a symbol instead, and referred to himself as the.. 'Artist formerly known as Prince.' Conrad was money hungry, yeah he cleaned up his vials, stole what he wanted, and disappeared for weeks. Tom Snodden or whatever his face, did not care to investigate before all the evidence was removed. Because he did not care.
