Please let me know if I can sing.

I already have the shot of this photo as my profile pic.

Carlene Moore   January 16th, 2010 12:08 am ET

My heart is overwhelmed with grief for the countless millions haitians who has suffered loss. Why has not the President or State Officials addressed these poor people. Why cant a Priest or Pastor prayer over the decease at the grave yard or even where they dumped those human loveones who died. Shame the govermaent of haiti.

Carlene Moore   January 16th, 2010 12:24 am ET

Why has not the Haiti Government addressed its people, So glad i was born in America,

Carol Rogan   January 16th, 2010 12:35 am ET

My daughter Jenn Rogan is a missionary in a small village Christianville not far from Port Au Prince. Their Mission has pretty much been distroyed. She has lost her home and mostly all her belongings, but thank the Lord she was not in the apartment when it collasped. My prayers and thought are with all the people of Haiti. May God bless them all. I just want people to donate money. Instead going out for dinner one night or to the movies, sent that money to one of the releif funds, Red cross, Salvation Army, Christainville Ministries.

carie   January 16th, 2010 12:53 am ET

God be with those in Haiti...this is such a tragedy. I pray for the victims, especially the children.

Nicole S. -- North Carolina   January 16th, 2010 12:56 am ET

Thanks, Larry. I will add it as my FB pic.

Glenn King   January 16th, 2010 12:56 am ET

On your broadcast tonight Larry you asked where was the medical supplies and we all ask why must another child -another helpless human being die due to the lack of it?

Today, when foreign economic assistance programs are under scrutiny, it is worth quoting former President Kennedy's concerns at length:

"For no objective supporter of foreign aid can be satisfied with the existing program–actually a multiplicity of programs. Bureaucratically fragmented, awkward and slow, its administration is diffused over a haphazard and irrational structure covering at least four departments and several other agencies. ..." Its weaknesses have begun to undermine confidence in our effort both here and abroad.

Why couldnt we pre-staged those much needed supplies and equipment at our US military base at Guantanamo Bay Cuba and had those airlifted by refulable helicopters to Haiti?

Nicole S. -- North Carolina   January 16th, 2010 12:58 am ET

I have made several donations to my local American Red Cross chapter. I personally went into the office and put the money in their hands for Haiti relief.

::::::::::::::::: God Bless Haiti ::::::::::::::::

Sue   January 16th, 2010 1:01 am ET

Carlene,
We are all praying for the dead....the priests and pastors and everyone not injured need to focus on the living and almost dead at this time. Everyone needs to be saving those lives that are struggling to stay alive under the rubble, to get aid for those in need.
My heart breaks for these poor people who have lived in what is the poorest country in the Northern Hemisphere for decades.
Maybe from this some good will come. Can it get any worse.
Donate people...donate.
Doctor's without Borders, Red Cross, Salvation Army...always the first on the scene.

A. Smith, Oregon   January 16th, 2010 1:02 am ET

Kudo's Larry King and the CNN Staff for this innovative viral message for others to see and help in anyway they can for the Haitian relief efforts.

ckelly   January 16th, 2010 1:04 am ET

I have contributed to the Canadian Red Cross for Haiti and will contribute here on Monday. Thanks for the good work LKL!!!

Adi Jarovic   January 16th, 2010 1:05 am ET

The U.N. needs to be exposed they are failing to help the people of Haiti just like they failed in my home country Bosnia. I cant believe they left dr. gupta with all those patients and relocated the doctors.

Johan J.   January 16th, 2010 1:20 am ET

Many of you are asking how come the president of Haiti hasn't addressed his people since last Tuesday's earthquake. I think that one of the reasons might be the fact that there is no time to do so. He is probably trying to coordinate all the help that is being send from abroad and that takes time. Also, I think that at the moment the best thing to do is to help out those who are homeless and especially those who are trapped in collapsed buildings. There might be other factors like no electricity and no means of communications. I think that in such catastrophe everyone reacts differently and chooses the best time to do things. Finally, instead of finding ways to criticize Haiti I think that we should all focus on how we can help them out and how to bring back our citizens back home.

chris   January 16th, 2010 1:20 am ET

where are all the haitian doctors? a lot are retired why are they not mobilize and offer their help? can you broadcast that? I want an answer

MARIE BOOZ   January 16th, 2010 1:21 am ET

LARRY,
MY NAME IS MARIE.I'M AN HAITIAN LIVING IN TAMPA, FL
RESOURCES ARE LIMITED, HOWEVER THE SOUTH SIDE OF PORT-AU-PRINCE IS DESPERATELY IN NEED OF URGENT HELP. THEY NEED FOOD, WATER, AND MEDICINE. CNN BROADCAST ONLY IN PORT-AU-PRINCE. NO STORY HAS BEEN TOLD NOR SHOWN OF PEOPLE IN GRESSIER, MARIANNI, CARREFOUR, BIZOTON, MARTISSANT. PLEASE ALERT YOUR CREW ON THE GROUND THAT HELP NEEDS TO BE SENT TO THOSE POOR INJURED PEOPLE. COMMUNICATION MAY BE BROKEN, NO WAY TO REACH ANYONE BY PHONE, THEY CANNOT BE HEARD NOR SEEN. PLEASE ALERT ANDERSON COOPER AND GUPTA ABOUT THIS SITUATION. CNN MIGHT BE THEIR ONLY CHANCE.
THANKS LARRY!

Glenn King   January 16th, 2010 1:26 am ET

Tonight Larry you asked Anderson Cooper where are the much needed medical supplies? I too asked where is the much needed medical equipment and doctors who could of saved that 12 year old girl and many other victims of the earthquake?

Today, when foreign economic assistance programs are under scrutiny, it is worth quoting former President Kennedy's remarks at length:

"For no objective supporter of foreign aid can be satisfied with the existing program–actually a multiplicity of programs. Bureaucratically fragmented, awkward and slow, its administration is diffused over a haphazard and irrational structure covering at least four departments and several other agencies. .... Its weaknesses have begun to undermine confidence in our effort both here and abroad.

Larry please ask President Obama, former presidents Carther and Clinton, and Congress why havent we learned from former President Kennedy's concerns? Why couldn't we have staged those medical supplies and equipment closer to Haiti at our US base in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. We then could airlift those supplies by refulable long range helicopters.

I myself asked those same questions during supporting humanitarin relief operations in Somolia in 1992 while in the Air Force. Many lives could of been saved there too.

Dodie   January 16th, 2010 1:35 am ET

Larry King

OK just changed my profile picture on Facebook to this one. Hopefully others will do the same. Great idea and wonderful program.

Thanks

eizza   January 16th, 2010 1:38 am ET

Larry,
Why are the doctors leaving the make-shift hospital scenes? Didn't they sign up for this kind of work, by work i mean working in this type of dangerous situtions? If Dr. Sanjay Gupta can stay and help so can the other doctors! Just give them 5 or 6 personal security guards. I don't think that rioters will attack hospitals maybe food stations...
I think saving lives should come before extra safety precautions.
Frustated American,
Eizza Asad

Yasmin Bailey-Stewart   January 16th, 2010 1:42 am ET

Hi Larry,

I'm distraught at the disaster in Haiti, my sister Caribbean nation and cannot sleep without sharing with you that the quickest way to get the aid to the people is by traditional transportation used by farmers and fishermen over land and sea. These convoys can be accompanied by 2 security personnel, but get the essential relief supplies and rescue personnel to the people . Alonzo and Dwayne can utilize the boaters from the Fl Keys to get into Port au Prince Harbor.

My prayers are with the people on the ground. God's grace to all.

Yasmin.

bryon   January 16th, 2010 1:43 am ET

MourningMJ   January 16th, 2010 2:11 am ET

@CAROL- I am so very sorry to hear that your daughter was involved in the Haiti Crisis, but I am also relieved as well, of course that she escaped uninjured. You must be so proud of your daughter and her efforts to help save the unfortunate souls of Haiti. God Bless you and your family.

@CARIE, NICOLE, PATTY A.- So nice to see you on this blog as well. Patty, like you I will be donating gently used clothing as my church will be sending it by a group of volunteers and will be hand delivering it as well as many other daily life essentials. Nicole, that is so very generous of you to make multiple donations for these poor souls, God Bless you. I would never expect anything different though from a kind soul like you... Carie- Hug Baby Carie tight- now and when she is here. We just never know when our world is going to change- as we so unfortunately found out- "two" many times...

God Bless Haiti

MourningMJ   January 16th, 2010 2:13 am ET

I also support the Facebook concept as I have already changed my profile as well. Very simple but a very effective communication tool to spread the word of need.

George Almeida   January 16th, 2010 2:28 am ET

If the u.s. hadn't interfered with Haiti in the 80's, Port au Prince wouldn't have been flooded with people looking for
work in the newly restructured economy. The U.S. put great effort into shifting Haiti from an agricultural to a manufacturing economy. Overthrowing the goverent and placing a leader in power who followed this agenda.
If the u.s. had just helped them form a real democracy, their economy would have remained agriculturally based since that's what most of the population had as a livelihood. Instead, larger profits were the focus. Larger profits for everyone except the people living there. The u.s. then abandoned this agenda after it began to fail and simply allowed it to fall apart. This a major reason for all of the urban poverty whch peaked in the last few decades thanks to the U.S. FAILED agenda.

Adefokun Adetona George   January 16th, 2010 2:30 am ET

Hi larry! God bless you for coming up with this beautiful idea, I'll change my profile picture. Please lets try to help the needy in haiti and give up on complaining. God bless haiti.

Laurie W.   January 16th, 2010 2:35 am ET

LARRY,
Why doesn't the US GVT. offer persons that are on unemployment benefits an offer to go to Haiti & use their expertises in helping the Hatians get back on thier feet?
There are many people with expertise in certain fields & many more with just a heart & ambitions that would love to go down there & help those people. Why pay people that already have a job when there are so many out whom don't. Let the people who are already drawing unemployment earn it , which I believe most of them would like to feel like their earning it & then give them another extended benefit when they come back to the US. after serving their time in Haiti. I know I would love to do it.

Laurie

Larry, where are the helicopters, sekorskys specifically, within a 100 mile radius of Haiti,to expedite and accelerate the relief effort,an air drop initiative with security/distribution personnel.

Angie   January 16th, 2010 3:09 am ET

Yes my comment is somebody should to talk with the leader of Haiti and send in the (patty wagon)Army or Military to control the violence/convicts so to better to help the people there ! Bring back the Doctors. Surely something can be done.

I want to start by saying hello and god bless all who are suffering in Hatti..
I think that we have more than enough people to send to help the people in hatti we are a country who send peoplle away to these jails for taking lives and now this is their chance to help another ..Now I feel you should take a plane and get as many people as you can out of the jails here in the US and send them to be of service....
I know this is un heard of, but so is the devestation!!!

Marites G. Martinez   January 16th, 2010 4:05 am ET

Hello, Larry. I am from the Philippines. I have just changed my profile picture in my facebook account. My prayers for the victims of the earthquake. More power to you.

Rosie Sedillo   January 16th, 2010 4:13 am ET

This is CRAZY!!! these people need hydration (IV), wound care, and be administered antibiotics....simple, lives can be saved. Where are all the Dr's and Nurses? I am a Nursing student out of Mission college
California. I know of @ least 50 other nursing students who are willing and able to be on a plane there asap to help save lives. it's so hard to watch knowing that we could actually be saving lives regardless of "security issues". Medical community needs to step up!

Joe - Shanghai   January 16th, 2010 4:26 am ET

Txh Larry and of course all the other staff working over at CNN. It's so important that the world will get to see what is happening on the ground. It helps us to understand and hopefully people will also reach in to their pockets and donate as much as they can. Every dollar counts! I just wish there were more we could do. I live half around the world, but I just wish I could get on a plain and help out in any way or another. I know that is not possible at the moment, but hopefully they get things organised soon so the help, the so important help, will reach these helpless people. All we can do is hope as many as possuble can be saved! It also gives one hope to see such miracles as what happrned to that poor girl who was trapped for over 50 hours. She was finally rescuded by a team from Iceland! This really shows that the people of the world in fact can junite and help eachother. I just wish that was the case all the time. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work!

V Jose   January 16th, 2010 4:47 am ET

Hi Larry,I thanked you very much For the coverage of Haiti,s problems. If the food and the water are there for the people, why the us help is not giving it to them.I thought that they went there for that purpose. Why did they volunteered to go if the purpose was not going to be met.It is also a lot amount of money being spent while thy are there . I offered my help to the red cross and i gave them my expertise as a nurse. There are a lot of Haitians Nurses and others who would like to go and I think one do not have to be a nurse or a doctor to be there.I just want to know why is the food and the water are being held from these people and every one else is eating and drinking .Remember again Larry,My people and i salute you and thanked you very much.I also thank the Reporters.

chrys France   January 16th, 2010 4:50 am ET

I just change my picture. God bless the Haitian people. Sorry if my english is not the best, but my heart is with them.

Kaleena   January 16th, 2010 5:39 am ET

Dear Mr.President Obama, It has now been four days since the earthquake took place in Haiti. When will you begin to send help to these people? I do understand that things take time, but when the tsunami hit there was help within hours. They received food, water and medicine by air, they received doctors and nurses and army aid. I feel like these people are experiencing the same treatment as the victims of hurricane Katrina. Is it the color of our skin that's stopping help from arriving or is it just that this is a western third world country? I feel like George Bush is back in office and refusing to help. Do we need a person like Kanye West to come on TV and say that Obama does not like Haitian people to get you to help the Haitians? Mr.President you are the leader of the free world we have the resources to help, so please get the ball rolling. I don't think that i can watch CNN and see anymore dead bodies or hear stories of people dying so rapidly after being saved, because there is no medical resources after they save them. Sincerely yours, Kaleena Lee

shirley cedillo   January 16th, 2010 5:45 am ET

I am just appalled that those doctors would leave those people . who runs these places. The UN is useless. Just treat the people screw guys down the street. The UN is useless. Just act. Help them. that is horrible what they did taking down those tents with those people watching,, and the what the hell are all those reporters doing. Get those people and help them stop talking and Help the people. It is so frustrating too watch. Katie Couric give the give the kid your water whatever. Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shirley cedillo   January 16th, 2010 5:47 am ET

the UN is useless

Christine Potthast   January 16th, 2010 6:09 am ET

US giving $100 million for Haiti, Germany is giving $2.17 million.

Tony Kelley   January 16th, 2010 6:29 am ET

As everyone, my heart goes out to the disaster victims in Haiti. I don't understand, however, why I have heard no one enlisting locals to help efforts. A coordinated effort with pay or voucher programs to get the people into an activity to be proactive and productive would help keep them occupied, and give them a feeling of accomplishing something positive. They are too close to the action to be able to organize themselves, but I would think they would appreciate direction, guidance, and support.

Sanjay Gupta, you are a rare soul. You remembered the Hippocrates oath" First do no harm" You stayed with the patients and they became your patients. God bless you!!!

Roxanne   January 16th, 2010 8:18 am ET

Larry,

After watching the heroic efforts of Sanjay Gupta over the past few days in Haiti, and especially last night after he potentially risked his own life to save the lives of the many people at the make shift hospital which was abandoned by the other doctors via orders from the UK, I hope others will join me in nominating and voting for him as a 2010 CNN hero.

Sanjay is truly a blessing to mankind and more recently, the people of Haiti. Sanjay, you are truly an angel. Thanks for being you!

faye   January 16th, 2010 10:53 am ET

i can not understand when the u.n.is involved in these terrible tragedies that thefood and water that the people desperatly need is a day late and a dollar short. Iunderstand Anderson Cooper being so upset .I have seen him in other tregedys breaking down. Someone should be ashamed don't let the supplies sit there and rot get it to the people. Forget the paper work.I'm angry

lilynz   January 16th, 2010 4:40 pm ET

I watched Anderson Cooper saying how unlike the tsunami in Thailand there were no records being kept of those people being buried in the mass graves. That of course means years down the track families will assume their family members are deceased but will not have confirmation – especially when it comes to children who could of course simply be 'picked up' by anyone for any reason.

With the lack of organised and coordinated leadership for the people of Haiti could not some of the throngs of media there organise this between them so people have confirmation of their family or friends situation. They are able to stick microphones down small gaps to talk to people still alive but crushed under rubble. Why didn't one organisation take responsibility for recording the deceased?

Chucky nix   January 16th, 2010 4:52 pm ET

Awareness is key here the more ppl know the more they can do let's do all we can even if it's just praying. GOD BLESS HAITI... ( you fill in the blank)... AMEN

Dr. Hill-Jackson / Texas A&M University   January 16th, 2010 4:55 pm ET

4 Quick Tips for Effective Community Outreach:

1. Rally the country's heroes and "sheroes" – they are well respected among the people and can engender trust.
2. Have the elder women give out the food at trucks at set locations, no one will RUSH the water and food trucks if the ELDER women are there singling songs of praise and worship (akin to the woman featured on the bullhorn).
3. Show guns as little as possible. So many persons of color around the world don't trust the UN forces.
4. Enlist the Haitian people in the decisions. The inhabitants know the best places to "set-up" hospitals, where to have distribution centers, how to get things done. These are the savants of Haiti. The people who have the problem have the solution!!

Rashi Vats   January 16th, 2010 5:02 pm ET

Will do! The CNN coverage has been amazing and, as a journalist, very inspirational.

Bonnie Howard   January 16th, 2010 5:10 pm ET

The World is Coming Together Over Haiti

Oh, What a beautiful thing!

Remember that last scene from “West Side Story” where the enemy gangs lifted Tony’s body, together? This life changing moment when they looked into each other’s tearful eyes and felt the possibility of brotherhood. They had fought one another long enough.

America will lead the world in this benevolent outpouring that will touch the hearts of our “enemies”. Even they will feel our profound compassion and know we are more than a country of guns and bombs.

Let us all grab hold of this horrific tragedy and see it as our blessed opportunity to extend outward all that is good about humanity from one hurting heart to another. May we lift one another’s spirits as we hold hands around the world to aid in Haiti’s recovery and rebuilding.

For Haiti will rise out of the rubble greater than ever, and be the centerpiece for exemplifying brotherhood once and for all times. We have fought long enough.

God Bless Haiti and God Bless Our Fragile Little World

Basimah Seck   January 16th, 2010 5:15 pm ET

Hi, Larry I pray that the little that I can do, will help in some way the people of Haiti, if everyone does a little, a little can eventually turn into a lot. May God bless everyones efforts and concerns for the people in Haiti. I am also proud of the 42,43, and 44th presidents coming together to formulate relief efforts.

Hughart Brown   January 16th, 2010 5:45 pm ET

Is'nt it freshing to see the young men in Haiti using both hands to assist in trying to rescue the victims. This is indeed a lesson to many of our youths in the U.S. who require one hand to hold up their baggy pants while exposing their underwear!
God bless those hardworking and proud people.

Larry,

How sad life has been for the people of Haiti. They are very hard working people and don't have much. Why is it that they endure such horrible things. I am not sure what God has planned for these poor people but I sure hope things get better for them. Let's hope the whole world comes to theier rescue. My thoughts and prayers are with all the people of Haiti. May God bless them all.

Greg Kennedy   January 16th, 2010 11:00 pm ET

Larry
Attempting to donate $25,000 in Emergency handheld lights (1000 Lights).
Would like CNN to help distribute to variety of aid groups based on who needs this type of light.

We sell mostly to the US Military. USE for marking triage, hazards, roads, light areas, Drop zones Etc. I believe your team would know who needs them most.
Need to speak to someone, trying for 3 days.

They will truly help.

I hope that at times like these, when the world comes together to help the victims of Haiti's devastating earthquake, we can find a place in our hearts to not only give generously to help the Haitians rebuild their lives, but also remind ourselves about how futile war, racism, and hatred is. We all share one common home, It's so fragile. We cannot continue to take it for granted.

kita   January 17th, 2010 3:08 am ET

hi Larry..thnx for the coverage..GREAT IDEA!! my heart goes out to the haitians.
God bless Haiti!!!!!

Fritz Eddyson Nelzy   January 17th, 2010 4:12 am ET

The Haitian Goverment hasnt addressed its people for years. It is because the government has one eye open but the Nation have their eyes close... The Haitian Nation are blind, and They do not see anything. When you have blind people like that the government has take opportunity on them.. The Americans Govern gave Haiti a lot of money before to help the Haitian people but instead of the Government help the people they took all the money... I want America to remember that; if you are trying to feed the blind people but please dont give anything to the guys with one eye because they will not open the blind folks eyes... I was blind until i came to America.. I learned that i can be educated without getting abused.

Alex Hankewicz   January 17th, 2010 4:19 am ET

Fellow Citizens of Earth
Now is the time to lend our support to our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
Whether it is ten dollars or ten thoosand dollars everybit helps. These poor people need our help.

Amita   January 17th, 2010 10:41 am ET

Thanx Larry...This is the least we can do...Haiti...You are not alone in this!!

Laurie   January 17th, 2010 11:48 am ET

How do you change your profile pic, please let me know, thanks. Also what a good idea you have come up with by changing profile pics. This gives us that cant afford to actually send money or donations to be part of helping out. I love that idea. As soon as I figure out how to do it I will.

Now this comes to my final thought. I read that stars are helping out but most of them are (like Rosie Odonnel said) asking us as in US the fans and the poor people ourselves to help out, whats up with that. Some starrs like Sandra Bullock gave 1 million that is so nice of her. Most stars however need our help hello. IF most of them gave 1 million which will NOT

Laurie   January 17th, 2010 11:51 am ET

oops in finishing my last comment that I entered to soon...............most stars will not miss 1 million from their accounts so if even 3 celebrities give 1 million there u have it 3 million right there. Then we have Madonna asking to match her lousy 250, 000 hello , this is not a game. She has been around since the beginning of time she has billions, 1 million wont be missed.

So stop being cheap celebrities and making it look like you just care so much by asking us normal people to help.

God Bless these people and have angels there to help and protect them.

Amanda Setty   January 17th, 2010 6:37 pm ET

On your show tomorrow night please mention the adoptive families waiting in the US for their children. These Haitian children have already been matched with a family. If we can get them Humanitarian Visas or Parole, those children can be evacuated and finish their adoption process safely in their US homes. Then the orphanages would have available space for the newly orphaned and displaced. These adoptive families are not famous, they don't have access to media but need to be heard. The focus right now is correctly aimed at relief for the injured, the dying and the lost but we need to be prepared for step two. Proactive not reactive.

lindafromnewyork   January 17th, 2010 7:59 pm ET

A big Thank you to the United States for taking the lead to help Haiti. Being Haitian I can tell you this the problem with Haiti for the longest time has been officials in the Haitian Government Lining their pockets. Some govenement officials are only interested in themselves. I remember the United States use to send aid to Haiti when I was a little girl-the Haitian Government use to turn around and sell these things to the Haitian People(i.e., powedered milk, cheese, etc.). If the United States wants to help Haiti–Alot needs to change. If anyone in Haiti is involved with the money that is being collected by any of these non profit groups-some of the money will not reach the ones in need. I can guarantee it.

Let me clarify, I am not saying that everyone in Hait is selfish and does not care about their fellow man. We can all see that for the most part Haitians care very much about each other by the way they are helping each other in Port Au Prince. At the same time you have some that will take advantage of this situation to benefit themselves. Haitians that have been living out of the Haiti for a very long time I think are better able to help with the distribution of all this aid that is coming into Haiti. We can communicate with both sides and make sure the help gets to everyone and not just a chosed few. CNN you are to be commended for all of your reporting. I know that alot of Haitian Americans are interested in going to Haiti to Help out our people-but we don't know how to go about it. Can you help with this. Please post informaton on this. Thank you

N. Nemorin   January 17th, 2010 9:39 pm ET

Hi Larry,

I have family members in Rue St Surin, Petionville, they are very concern about the status of their community, because the focus right now is on Port au Prince, when they have people there in Petionville including themselves who are homeless and starving and in need of food and medical attention, we need CNN to get the word out about Petionville, people are getting desperate, some are now resorting to crime and violence just to survive. please get the word out, we desperately need help for Petionville now.

Thank you,

N. Nemorin

What would the world do without the USA and CNN. You are the eyes, voice and strength of the world. May god bless you in everything you do and keep up the good work. You are doing wonderfully for HAITI.

Marc   January 18th, 2010 8:13 am ET

I praise the President in his efforts to rally every important figure to help Haiti after the disaster.I would also suggest that he releases an order to allow native Haitians serving in different branches of the Military to join Army and Marine Units on the ground and provide assistance in language and intelligence. Many of us were born and raised in Haiti. Not only we are getting paid up to 12000 dollars a year for language proficiency but we also know the terrain. We can make a difference if receiving orders to go down there and help our people. It would also be an honor to take care of our brothers and sisters while wearing US Military Uniform and US Flag.We decided to join the Military after 9/11 as a payback of what America has done for our country. The American people just proved how much they care for us.It is definitely an honor to serve.

Claudie Romulus Ramirez   January 18th, 2010 1:53 pm ET

Prayers, prayers, prayers. God's blessings on all those who have selflessly offered themselves to help. God's blessings on those who need the help. As a Haitian American I truly appreciate CNN's coverage of the events in Haiti. I appreciate that all the journalists have treated the Haitian people so well. Thank you.

Hi Larry,

I just had to take a minute to say that I think Anderson Cooper and Sanjay Gupta should be given humanitarian awards for what they are doing in Haiti. I watched Sanjay spend the night alone with severly injured patients when nobody else would. I watched Anderson put himself in harms way to scoop up a young boy who was severly injured and take him to safety. These men have gone so far above and beyond thier jobs. CNN is so very lucky to have these two men as part of their team!!! Stay safe guys!!

Rosa   January 18th, 2010 8:20 pm ET

I keep hearing that Haiti need Doctors and Nurses to help the people. I am a nurse. I will like to help, but don't know how or what to do to volunteer to go to Haiti.

Sandora   January 18th, 2010 10:16 pm ET

I feel that Haitian people are finally not alone in this world, thank you very much for helping my Haiti. For the Haitian people please be grateful for the help that you are receiving thank the lord.

dds/north   January 18th, 2010 10:54 pm ET

I struggle to grapple with the shock of the earthquake in Haiti. Yet, i am here, so very far away in Canada! That said; i cannot begin to fathome the depth of their shock and pain; nor the horrificness of the destruction, catastrophic loss of valuable lives. From my hope and with my love; may we lift Haiti up.. through donations that can accomplish a miracle from humanity required to do so.

SGT. ERICKSON, SEAN (BAGHDAD)   January 19th, 2010 3:27 am ET

Hi Mr. King! I'm in Iraq for just a little while longer and want to get to Haiti. How does a Wa. Army National Guard Soldier like me get there right away after I return? Is there an orginization I can fly over with. These deployments have left me a little finacially ruined after shutting down my business twice now. I don't have money to donate but want to get there and help in person. My wife and 3 kids will have to wait to see me for a little longer. There are others in my unit here that want to help. Our mission here in Iraq is just about complete and our personal mission now is to help the people of Haiti, somehow.
Thank you Sir for your time and everything you do.

SGT. ERICKSON, SEAN
