Have Jackson's autopsy photos been leaked?

Posted: 11:56 AM ET

Michael-Jackson-concertBy Gerald Posner via The Daily Beast

Last week I received a telephone call from a photo agent in London who I had met in 1999 while investigating the death of Princess Di for Talk magazine.

Then, he had helped me chase down rumors of photos snapped immediately after the accident in the Pont Alma tunnel. In the spring of ’99, surrounded by tight security in a clandestine location, I was shown low-resolution images of a dying Diana still trapped in the crumpled Mercedes. Those pictures were offered to me for $2 million. I passed.

Some of the less graphic ones were finally aired in 2004 by CBS’s 48 Hours. CBS was widely condemned for showing the pictures, from Diana's brother who said he was "sickened" to Prime Minister Tony Blair who called the broadcast of the grainy black-and-white images "distasteful."

But the call from London was not this time about Di. It was about Michael Jackson, and an equally distasteful photo, one supposedly snapped at Jackson’s autopsy. “There are rumors that a photo is being flashed around Los Angeles,” he told me. “Supposedly was given to someone from who was at the autopsy.”

If what he told me was true, it would constitute a remarkable breach of security for the Los Angeles investigators on the Jackson death probe, as well as the coroner’s office where the autopsy was conducted.

Since that call, The Daily Beast followed a trail through dozens of people in the U.S. and Europe and tracked down a prominent Los Angeles restaurant owner who has a high-resolution copy of what is evidently a photo from the Jackson autopsy.

That person has shown it to friends on his BlackBerry, including several California-based television executives. The restaurant owner told at least one of those TV execs that the photo had been given to him by a “high-ranking police friend.”

Some people have no class whatsoever.

I can say one thing, if that picture shows up on YouTube or in the media, I am not interested in seeing it at all. That's goes beyond the depth of tackiness.

Love you Michael-Love lives forever...☆

Letta   October 29th, 2009 12:06 pm ET

@Barbara
I agree with you 100 percent. Very distasteful.

Also, in my book I feel that this is another stunt for some attention for the media. Why can't they let real enought along.

LOVE & PEACE

MaryRM   October 29th, 2009 12:08 pm ET

'High ranking police' are in the habit of leaking photos on highly sensitive cases?

Or a restaurant owner has a friend who is good with photoshop?

You pick the more likely scenario.

MaryRM   October 29th, 2009 12:09 pm ET

Some people will say and do anything to make a buck.

MaryRM   October 29th, 2009 12:11 pm ET

Oh yeah, I just remembered – this is just like the alien autopsy photo a few years back......

JGB   October 29th, 2009 12:15 pm ET

This is sick. Just like when Dale Earnhardt died and the press was fighting for his autopsy photos...........what the heck for? That is no ones business.

MourningMJ   October 29th, 2009 12:15 pm ET

Daily Beast commentary? Leaked autopsy photo? Not so sure on the credibility of the Daily Beast, however, I would not be shocked nor even suprised that a cold, stoic human being contemplated releasing a picture of Michael Jackson while he lay completely defenseless. Witnessing a photo of Michael deceased serves me absolutely no benefit whatsoever but I'm sure there are countless others who will be preying on the media for this photo like it's a mouse in a snakepit. Can you imagine the negotiations behind closed doors for this photo? I wonder what the going price is for some decensy and integrity? Well, I'm sure the media can conciliate on that one too. For the right price that is.
IHMJ xoxo TII ❤

Tinkerbell   October 29th, 2009 12:21 pm ET

I think this is very classless and tasteless, even though we know the TRUTH. I don't care who somebody is, you should not do this to the family or to the person that has passed away.

Anne   October 29th, 2009 12:22 pm ET

Gerald Posner has interviewed Conrad Murray for the Daily Beast and Diane Dimond also writes for them. Are they trying to distract the media from all the positive attention Michael Jackson is receiving for This Is It.

Tinkerbell   October 29th, 2009 12:26 pm ET

Oh yeah, and as fans who love Michael we need to fight these type of things and blatantly show our disgust for things like this. Not just for Michael but for anyone else's family who may possibly have to endure such sick disgusting and sadistic antics by the media.

When are we going to tell the media what is acceptable and tasteful, it's time for us to STAND UP and put the media back in its place. I don't even think there is a such thing as tasteful or truthful journalism any longer, and I'm tired of just letting it go. This must stop, we are the masses, we are the people, and we have the say so. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO PUT AN END TO THIS TYPE OF DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR.

For the record, just making a comment on the LKL blogs is not enough. WHO IS WITH ME ON THIS?!?!?!?!

Mila   October 29th, 2009 12:26 pm ET

The photo must have been fake – why would his eyes be open – he was asleep when he passed away.
It is disgusting to even speculate about the leak of such photo and to describe it in such details in the article – but as we all know tabloid journalists will never grow hearts (or brains for that matter)

The second page of this article is very very interesting:

1) "Chief Coroner Ed Winter told me that officially his office had no comment on any aspect of the Jackson autopsy, including even disclosing the number of people present at the postmortem examination, much less their names."

2) The Coroner denies that the first leaked autopsy report was genuine and regarding the second one which AP wrote about he says “When I asked them if I could see what they had,” Winter told me, “they couldn’t produce anything.”

3) It seems that the Coroner is confirming that Michael had a scar on his left cheek and that he's seen it. However keep in mind that his words were not quoted in the article but retold instead so it could be an interpretation by the author not something the Coroner said:
"the left cheek scar was potentially important, as even if it was faked, there would be few people outside of Jackson’s entourage who knew about that private, identifying mark".

Tinkerbell   October 29th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

One more thing, when are we as a group going to start personally protesting and putting an end to trash journalism and media assassins like Diane Dimond, Gerald Posner, Martin Bashir, and the rest of the slumming lot.

This is ridiculous, we must begin to show our displeasure with this madness.

@Anne

Distraction from positive MJ news is exactly what they are trying to do. I say we foil their tactics by letting their bosses know what we will no longer stand for.

P.S. I am a believer so I don't think there is a photo anyway, but these trashy scum-like journalist will do anything to distract from anything positive for MJ and others. Let's start letting them know that positive news can sell too and that's what we want to hear. I sick and tired of all the negative stories and disgusting headlines. Enough is Enough!!!!!!!

mary u from ohio   October 29th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

Sorry Media... This story was released in June....Old news....

Tinkerbell   October 29th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

@Mary U

LOL...the media thinks we are idiots. I'm on a mission to prove them very wrong.

Barbara   October 29th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

As I've said before, the only thing these tabloids are good for, is lining the bird cage or stoking the fire.

Love you Michael-You light my fire... ♨

lola   October 29th, 2009 12:34 pm ET

The media has sunk to an all time low – just when it couldn't get any lower. It never ceases to amaze me how many people will sell their souls to the devil for the right price.....Michael can't even die in peace. I hope the Jackson family sues their ass.

Tina (Germany)   October 29th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

To even think about releasing such a photo is abhorrent.

I don't even want to know the abysmal depths of those peoples mind.

Victoria J   October 29th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

Gerald Posner? Ethical, investigative journalist? The Daily Beast, whose Editor is Tina Brown who was the former editor of Vanity Fair while Maureen Orth ran her scathing articles about Michael during the 2005 trial, ethical? Come on! We are not stupid. I have a very hard time tolerating this kind of stuff. Mr. Posner, if you think this is investigative journalism, fine, but stick to the facts to report on such as: where is the leak, how did a leak happen, who leaked the photo, etc. might be more in line. But to resort to tabloid journalism and give us the description of the photo of Michael lying on the coroner's table in your article is well, sir...TABLOID JOURNALISM!

LKL, I implore you...Please, do not run articles like this. It is sickening and disheartening.

Holland   October 29th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

same old... same old

who cares about the autopsy photo

lola   October 29th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

Mila
In early pictures of MJ he has a small scar on his upper left cheek. The scar "disappeared" in his late teens.

lola   October 29th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Holland
No one cares about the photo – it is just another excuse to discuss his plastic surgery/appearance....pathetic!

Brigida   October 29th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

Simply disgusting.

lola   October 29th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

Posner left out the one thing you know everyone is just chomping on the bit about....the big question??? I suppose he will keep that to himself so he could sell more papers and keep all the vultures guessing......you know what I am referring to.

MourningMJ   October 29th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

@ VICTORIA-
I concur. Larry APPEARED to have Michael's best interest when he first passed away. But because the investigation stalled, slowly picked back up and is slow again, Larry needs to "enlighten MJ" fans with some "relevant' blog so we won't lose interest. I'd rather lose interest than entertain tabloid journalism whose only purpose is to push the buttons of broken hearted MJ fans.. What a sham and what a shame.

I have emailed arnie the governor of california to express my disgust and that i hope he does something about it.

Describing the photo in detail is the same as posting the photo. Disgusting and unethical. LKL, you are supporting this type of garbage by posting it on your site. Shame on you! Would you post the photo as well????

Victoria J   October 29th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

@MourningMJ
Thanks, your post was fueling me as I sat here pounding on this computer keyboard. I am passionate about what I am passionate about and people being allowed to have their dignity in life or death is one of those things that can "push my button." Agree...a sham and a shame.

@LKL
I will gladly push hit the refresh button on those articles filling up on Michael than to have to post on articles of this caliber.

Holland   October 29th, 2009 12:56 pm ET

LARRY please remove this article. This is disgusting, particularly just after THIS IS IT was released.

Eyes Open ?? In the ambulance they were closed and according to the time line they were closed for hours before the ambulance photo was taken. So I am thinking the autopsy photo could be fake.

LARRY THIS ARTICLE IS DISGUSTING AND SICK. IF THIS IS TRUE
HOW DARE THEY INVADE SOMEONE'S PRIVACY LIKE THIS. LETS HOPE IT IS NOT TRUE. NO ONE WANTS TO SEE THIS. THINK ABOUT HIS CHILDREN. OH MY GOD. WHY DOES SOMETHING NEGATIVE ALWAYS HAVE TO COME OUT AFTER SOMETHIG REALLY POSITIVE. ENOUGH ALREADY.

lindafromnewyork   October 29th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THE CORONERS OFFICE WOULD ALLOW SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN. WTF–MICHAEL NEEDS TO BE LEFT ALONE. THE MEDIA HARRASSED HIM WHEN HE WAS ALIVE AND THEY STILL CANNOT LEAVE HIM ALONE. SUCH BS. TOTALLY APALLING.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS.

Lisa S   October 29th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Firstly, it can not be that hard to track down where it came from if it was true.

Secondly, it must be very frustrating to have commited crime, moral and leagal crime to get a photo of that sort and then find out that nobody believes in it as there are so many stories going around and so many photos posted every minute that nobody believes it anyway.

At the same time as some people dont believe that MJ had health problems when they see him on moving images, there are some people who still thinks he is alive.

Unless a secure sourse can be given, it is impossible to belive hardly anythin, really.

bERTHA CECILIA URDINOLA ALJURE - Wageningen - Holland   October 29th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

What are doing Larry? I would not see the picture! It is morbeus and sick!

Its not fair if people circulate it. No respect.

Anne   October 29th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

This Is It the movie shows Michael to be even more of a creative genius that I knew him to be. He was so incredibly gifted. He was brilliant. He was a true artist. He really became one with the music in his singing and dancing. He was in charge of every aspect of the whole show. It was HIS show. He understood everything about how he wanted to affect the audience. He was magical. You cannot take your eyes off him. His concert This It It would have been so incredibly awesome! Really spectacular! Totally amazing. Unforgettable. Worth flying all the way to London to see.

irene   October 29th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

I knew that would happen. It always happens.

Sandy-Houston   October 29th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

Could CNN|LKL stoop any lower? Could we PLEASE just have some true investigative journalism where Michael and his death are concerned?! Surely you can do your own investigations without depending on these rags of filth. OR was it planned this way? Let Michael have one day of positive news stories and then stab him in the back! You advertise as being the most trusted name in news and you're using stories from tabloids???

carebear   October 29th, 2009 1:20 pm ET

If the photo was realeased someone would be in a lot of trouble. The coroner says such pictures are kept under lock and key.

carebear   October 29th, 2009 1:23 pm ET

I meant to say released!

Tinkerbell   October 29th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

It's just another tasteless jab at Michael from the media. Well I'm going on an emailing blitz to show my disgust, and I urge you all to do the same. This is tasteless, shameless, classless, disgusting, and despicable.

I agree with Michael we should have a tabloid burning party, my only thing is how do we burn them without having to pay for this trash.

Lori - Justice For Michael   October 29th, 2009 1:33 pm ET

I hope this article is incorrect. As we all know there have been many so called "leaks" in the matter and many have been down right wrong, or a straight up lie. Gerald Posner has had several articles reprinted in the LKL blogs and they have been inaccurate to say the least. I will only believe information from sources that are on the record.

Can't we just enjoy the This is It movie without having to deal with tabloid rumors?

Hollywood & Fine Reviews
"This Is It and That's That" by Marshall Fine
Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” elicited strongly conflicting emotions as I watched a screening this week.

On the one hand:

How can you not be captivated by this close-up immersion in Jackson’s astonishing talent – as a singer, a dancer, a creator of music that is part of our permanent soundtrack?

This patchwork version of his projected concert hints at what his farewell stand in London might have been like, had he lived. (And did anyone really believe that he would hang up the dancing shoes after this?)

It shows an artist whose work is forever embedded in the culture, an expressive singer with amazing range – and a dancer who seemed to invent new moves even when he was standing still. Watching him perform choreographed steps or improvise what seem like instantly invented styles of movement is an inexpressible feast for the eyes. It’s a shame that the cameramen, filming in both high-def and low-def for Jackson’s own consumption, weren’t shooting for real, though the footage is often dazzling and the sound is top-notch.

It also shows an artist seemingly near the peak of his powers and decidedly in his element. The impression is of a stops-out spectacle in the making, one that would survey his entire career while expanding upon it, conjured by someone fully convinced of his own ability to create magic by sheer will and imagination

On the other hand:

Watching “This Is It” reveals so much about Michael Jackson as a human being: his quiet perfectionism, performance eccentricities and signatures – and the fact that there appeared to be no one in his world – from the lowliest dancer to his partner in creating this show, Kenny Ortega (who gets directing credit for this film) – who was willing to say no to him about anything.

Obviously, Jackson was a genius who didn’t need people second-guessing his vision. On the other hand, the impression here is that his entourage and hangers-on had long ago crossed the line between support and sycophantism. There are several sequences in which the show’s dancers and crew, standing out in the arena of Los Angeles’ Staples Center (where these rehearsals took place), cheer, hoot and mimic Jackson’s solo moves on stage and otherwise adore his every molecule without reservation. The impression is that this sort of fawning was probably the rule in his life, rather than the exception.

But you only need to look at Jackson – his painfully sculpted face, his rail-thin physique, his insistence on hiding behind sunglasses – to register that he was a control freak with a lot of issues. On the other hand, there is nothing frail or imminently perishable about Jackson; he’s always been wraith-thin and he shows incredible energy – seemingly unflaggable – as he runs through the demanding song-and-dance sequences.

The film cobbles together rehearsal performances, pre-shot video that was being created for the stage show (like a new 3D version of “Thriller”) and behind-the-scenes moments of Jackson working with musicians, dancers and Ortega. Spectacle is perhaps too mild a word for what was in process; so is grandiose.

But the unbounded nature of Jackson’s imagination – particularly as it applies to dance – is fascinating to observe. The film splices together bits of several different rehearsal performances – which you know are different because of the various costumes (and even his everyday clothes, it seems, looked like costumes) he wears. The very opening number – “Wanna Be Startin’ Something” – knits together different rehearsal versions – and in each one, his dance moves change, evolve, explode.

Does it seem ghoulish or untoward to rush a product like this into theaters, so soon after Jackson’s death? I’ll leave that for others to judge. Ultimately, “This Is It” is as intimate a portrait of the working-artist version of Michael Jackson as you could hope.

Not that it ever gets beneath the surface – but that surface was so multi-faceted and exciting, at least in this context, that it makes this film impossible to ignore. You can’t watch it and not be mesmerized by his performance.

Brigida   October 29th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

I think, nobody denies his health problems. All of us knew about them.

But I think, if the Coroner finally would release just a bit of a serious statement, the vultures had no chance to exploit and speculate anymore.

Tinkerbell, it's so simple: nobody buy that trash and they stop. No money, no more trash.

Nice to see Wacko Jacko Inc. release a film of the tortured star’s final months, and put his personal effects on public display while his corpse is barely cold.

This Is It they call the movie. But It Isn’t It. Not while there are still countless millions to be wrung out of this tragic life.

Part of me wishes Jackson’s child molestation jury had looked at his habit of luring young boys to bed in the same way they would have if it had been an ordinary Joe in the dock. And sent him to jail.

Career-wise That Would Have Been It. Meaning not only would the industry on which these leeches still feed have been destroyed, but

Jackson may have found peace away from those pushing him towards an early grave.

And at least his memory would have been afforded some honesty.

Linda – hi remeber Fox news Geraldo, ariticle he said there's conspiracy from media and coroners office.. selling the info.. i'm not shocke at all.. because it's true. it was month of September when Dianne Dimond said coming from unknown sources. so i guess it's true.
the Coroners should be blamed for their being irresponsible and its heart broken because they are doing this to Michael Jackson, i think if other celebrity they coundn't do any careless things.
but why they did this to Michael???

mariau   October 29th, 2009 2:28 pm ET

Lora – i agree with you.. the media will post some kind of b__t when some good things going on to Michael's legacy.
we just enjoy and celebrate his legacy

mariau   October 29th, 2009 2:31 pm ET

still me – just relax if that photo was anywhere sure its already in youtube. i guess that's not true that's why still coundn't find anywhere here in net. just relax.. if there's any.. then CORONERS WILL BE PUNISH FOR THIS.. AND THAT'S GOOD EVIDENCE TO FIRED ALL THOSE VULTURES ENFORCEMENT.

Lora Ottawa Canada   October 29th, 2009 2:33 pm ET

Diane in Minneapolis   October 29th, 2009 3:05 pm ET

Anne – thanks for interjecting the photo! Beautiful.

The Coroner is responsible for his employees' actions so he could lose his job over this. He said he knew everyone in the room and where they were standing so he would have known who took this photo – if it is actually true. Following autopsy it would be stored in a digital database which is hopefully secure but who knows? I hope the estate or family members have their investigator look into this. Horrible and heartbreaking if it is true.

I saw TII last night. OMG-I loved it. The theater had trivia contests, signing wall. Videos, Kareoke, and they even had cotton candy.

I was planning on seeing 1 more time-but Now–defintely a few more times. Michael still had it going on.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The Michael Jackson movie "This Is It" earned $20.1 million at worldwide box offices on its first day in theaters as fans around the globe turned out in strong numbers, Columbia Pictures said on Thursday. ($7.4 million in the United States and Canada, and another $12.7 million internationally.)

"The studio believes that the worldwide launch, with very strong performance across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia, represents an amazing beginning for the film and a reaffirmation of the global appeal of Michael Jackson," Columbia Pictures spokesman Steve Elzer said in a statement.

Diane in Minneapolis   October 29th, 2009 3:51 pm ET

Linda –

I smiled all the way thru it. I loved his "I'll Be There" and then those new moves he busted on Billie Jean. I have to go again because there is so much happening. Yes he still had it goin' on. Kind of time warpy because it seems like only yesterday he was the kid doing Thriller and now he is the "old" guy among kid performers.

MourningMJ   October 29th, 2009 4:18 pm ET

@VICTORIA-
Vic, Here is a repsonse to your last post on the Miko blog. I wanted to post it here as well in case you do not go back there. Thank you, and I hope you really enjoy the movie this evening.

@ VICTORIA-

Thank you for your very supportive post. You know what is so quite charming about you Victoria, is that you always seem to have the words that Michael Jackson would have used to mend a broken heart. You know how to suck the salt out of the wonds. Your post was so accurately written, that it is practically a screenplay of his life however, we the audience are screaming at him and his eyes are close and his ears are deaf. I believe Michael suffered from selective love. He loved every single human on this planet unconditionally, without question or motive. But because so many people treated him as if he was almost inhuman, including a particular family member or two, he learned very carefully that perhaps he was just not lovable. Furtherest from the truth is our eyes, of course. Our souls were soaked and dripping with love and loyalty for Michael and always will be. I'm so relieved to know that this movie will be a true reflection of talent and a genius in motion. I want to hear the voice that could move mountains and the witness the feet that could kick them down. My heart is just having a hard time fixing something that doesn't seem to think is broken. Vic, I cannot wait to farther process his last composition of art with you. Let him sit on your shoulders like the innocent child he was and enjoy his last masterpiece in good and loyal company.....
IHMJ xoxo

MourningMJ   October 29th, 2009 4:22 pm ET

@JAN-
Thank you for that Victory clip- I loved the compilation of the music and dates and pictures. Of course I have never forgotten that date: 6/13/2005. I wish it could be a federal holiday, IMHO of course. Thank you also for that "sexy" shot of MJ. You know it's unfortunately photoshopped though right? (the one of him kissing the girl). Awe, but that's okay, I lose it at his face anyway; it's so breathtaking there is no need for me to further than his smile. Thank you, Jan.
IHMJ xoxo

LARRY THIS IS SO SICK I FOR ONE DO NOT WANT TO THIS AT ALL!!!!!! HIS CHILDERN USES THE INTERNET WHAT ABOUT THEM!!! LEAVE MICHEAL ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

lola   October 29th, 2009 4:26 pm ET

Ebert, in his review, mentioned that he thought it was very telling that Mj was wearing long sleeves at rehearsals when everyone else was wearing short sleeves. But, didn't he always wear long sleeves?
After dancing Mj would appear out of breathe, but I noticed all the back up dancers did as well – and they were 20 years younger and weren't singing.

lola   October 29th, 2009 4:33 pm ET

How about that Arnie Klein?????? What a snake! Did he have to file his claim on the same day as TII debuts????? I think he really put his foot in it this time though. His greed got the best of him. On LKL he claimed he rarely gave Mj medication, only a handful of pills over the years and now he is claiming to 51 demerol shots over the past few months. You know if he admits to 51 it has to be much more than that. This is a crime in itself. Where is the outrage??????

manda   October 29th, 2009 4:59 pm ET

Hahaha....Give Larry King a break....he's playing his role :}

Anne   October 29th, 2009 5:07 pm ET

I am trying to figure out why it is taking so long for the LAPD to turn over the case to the DA. I am seriously wondering if Dr. Murray will ever be charged with anything beyond the prescription violations. Is there any chance that they deliberately postponed this at the request of the family until after the movie? Or am I just grasping at straws here? It just seems that if they had the evidence, it would have happened already. Remember when they were suggesting an arrest was imminent back in August? It is almost November.

cris   October 29th, 2009 5:11 pm ET

I can tell everybody right off the bat that the photo or reports of the photo are fake because those who have see the picture claim Michael's eyes were open. How can they be open if he was in a coma. Medically eyes stay open after death when there was significant brain activity and the subject was the victim of a sudden impact, for example a bomb, hanging, gunshot to the head or violent car accident..not a coma.

stranger in M   October 29th, 2009 5:43 pm ET

Lori - Justice For Michael   October 29th, 2009 5:59 pm ET

There is a deadline to file creditor claims against an estate. I am not sure what that time frame is in California, but it is stated in the California Probate Code, which is available on line. The only way anyone is going to get paid is to file a creditor's claim against the estate. I am sure the timing has more to do with the deadlines than with anthing else.

Travis Payne on Michael Jackson from the Huffington Post

ESSENCE.COM: Besides sharing his mission did he talk about what he hoped to offer his fans?

PAYNE: (Laughs.) I remember Michael saying, "I want to disrupt their sleep at night! When people leave here I want them to think about what they can do to affect change in this world. We can't be playing around no more. I'm not playing with these people; we've got to get it together!" He was fiercely loyal to his fans and made sure that he asked them what he wanted. He set up a Web site before we began coming up with the concert set that asked fans what songs they wanted him to perform. Then he brought that very detailed lists with tallies next to each song and said these are the songs we have to do, and from that list we came up with the show. That's just the man he was.

He also cared so deeply about people he never knew or met. He'd come into rehearsal and tell us different news stories he'd read about around and outside the country like, "Did you hear about that baby that was left in Chicago?" He wanted to adopt every hungry and homeless child because he felt like if he didn't take the time with them who would? I hope when people see the film they will get Michael's message and leave the theater ready to affect change.

Denise do Rio de Janeiro - Brasil   October 29th, 2009 6:37 pm ET

"This is Jackson, his eyes wide open, lying on his back on an autopsy table metal".

Never heard that eyes open after the deceased person ... I read somewhere that they were parted, also said La Toya parted, other than wide open ...

Then the picture of the ambulance is false?

OMG! This is all very sad!

Nonviolence is the answer to the crucial political and moral questions of our time: the need for man to overcome oppression and
violence without resorting to oppression and violence. Man must evolve for all human conflict a method which rejects revenge,
aggression and retaliation. The foundation of such a method is love.

Raychil   October 29th, 2009 7:29 pm ET

I don't believe this story for one minute. If it were true the owner and sharer of the photo would go to jail for stealing from the coroner's office. I am so tired of these stupid tabloid journalists!

A. Smith   October 29th, 2009 7:40 pm ET

If the photos were able to be duplicated and released, they certainly would. For Joe Jackson et. al. its all about the dollars. Micheal Jackson represented a cash register to him and the rest of his sordid family members and hanger on friends.

There is certainly a great deal of interest in just how many different injection sites Micheal Jackson had on his body for IV and Syringe Drug injections. Preliminary reports stated the arterys in his neck which would be highly unusual for a drug addict to have to use, as well as the veins in both arms and numerous areas on his legs.

There's quite a number of folks that are curious as to how much of his nose was prosthetic and how much if any of his nose was actually real.

There's ton's of interest in regards to preliminary reports that Micheal Jackson was nearly completely bald. I think photos showing the multiple drug injection sites, prosthetic nose bridge and bald head on Micheal Jackson would be like ringing the dinner bell for tabloid magazines to show.

Marmoura   October 29th, 2009 7:48 pm ET

A. Smith

He did not have a prosthetic nose. Use your brain. You only think it's true because it's shocking. gullible to the media that's what you are. they've got you right where they want you.

you probably also believe that you can see the great wall from space.

From Access Hollywood:
When contacted by Access Hollywood, Los Angeles Chief Coroner Ed Winter said in his opinion, there cannot be any photos “floating around” from the official autopsy report.

The photos are under “lock and key,” separate from the autopsy report, he told Access on Wednesday.

Winter added that he had seen two unrelated photos of Jackson’s body, one of the pop star lying down “somewhere” and another of him supposedly in a casket. His opinion is that both images are computer-generated.

But Posner told Access it is not clear whether the reported photo is official, or was snapped under different circumstances.

“It’s not clear as to whether it’s an official photo taken by the Coroner or whether it’s what I call a ‘Trophy Photo,’ taken by somebody who had access to the autopsy and took it and put it on their phone,” he said.

I cannot say enough about Michael Jackson's This Is It. Simply amazing. he looked healthy. Michael's beautiful soul shines through this movie.

"It's all for L.O.V.E."

WHITESOX FROM USA   October 29th, 2009 9:30 pm ET

I WAS HOPING THAT SOMEONE COULD TELL ME WHERE THE MJ FANS THAT USUALLY COME TO THESE BLOGS GO WHEN ON THE RARE OCCASION THERE IS NO ARTICLE ABOUT MICHAEL HERE. LONG BE REMEMBERED THE BIG~HEARTED KING OF POP. REMEMBER IT'S UP TO US FANS TO MAKE SURE OTHERS THAT MAY JUST NOW BE EXPERIENCING HIS GENIUS FOR THE FIRST TIME KNOW THAT ABOUT HIM. IN MY ESTIMATION HIS BIG~HEART MADE HIS MUSIC EVEN MORE SPECIAL. DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN ON TOUR OVERSEAS ONCE HE VISITED A CHILDRENS HOSPITAL? WELL HE NOT ONLY VISITED THE KIDS. HE SAW HOW DEPLORABLE THEIR CARE WAS. EVEN THOUGH HE WOULD HAVE TAKEN A BIG FINANCIAL HIT HIMSELF HE THREATENED NOT TO PERFORM IN THAT COUNTRY UNLESS THE KIDS HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW GOT BETTER CARE. NOW THAT IS WHAT I CONSIDER A VERY BIG HEART.

Lori Quebec Canada   October 29th, 2009 9:56 pm ET

actually the person who stold that picture if it is real to sell to the media is even more sick then someone who would make a fake one....some people will do anything for money and have no cares if they hurt others by their actions......

Stacey   October 29th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

I hope to God that people have not leaked photos of Michael dead.... Anything to make money.... People don't care who they hurt..... If someone really did leak autopsy photos words couldn't even describe what this person is...... I don't even understand why people can't just leave this man and his family alone.... What pleasure does a person get by doing something this evil.... No one wants to see pictures of Michael like that.....That's not how we choose to remember him.... People need to get a life and stop trying to ruin others....

Remember what goes around, comes around....

I think this is an important thing to discuss, I guess that is why the editorial group decided to put it on the blogs.

How is it possible for photos to leak? and why can it not be traced back if it can be proven it is true?

If it is not true, can we trus any messages or information about michael and have we ever been able to?

Last issue, what would be so interesting in seeing a dead person? Do they really take a photo after the have done the autpsy? and why?

_____________________________________
Klein never said he gave mj 51 demerol shots on LKL. The article posted by TMZ said demerol injections and TMZ was not only wrong, but ignorant as TMZ did not read the invoice statement they had attached to their own article. Klein was injecting mj with restylane, which is a wrinkle filler. Please read the article and click on the statement for proof.

AP MJ honored at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame celebration.

"The night's emotional highlight came courtesy of Stevie Wonder, who sang Michael Jackson's upbeat "The Way You Make Me Feel," in tribute to the fallen King of Pop. During one part in the chorus, Wonder stopped singing, bent his head and started to sob, but he quickly gathered his composure to finish the song, ending it joyously by leading the crowd with chants of "We Love Michael Jackson" and "Long Live Michael Jackson."

Victoria J   October 30th, 2009 8:28 am ET

I had an incredible journey last night with Michael. A euphoria I have not experienced in a long time; an adrenaline high that was bound to crash. I am not fully able to post my thoughts cohesively this morning as my thought process is going in all sorts of directions. The feelings I was afraid that would be re-ignited are back in full force. I was aware of that some last night when I returned home and as the night drew to a close. This morning, it took a question from the person dearest to me and who went with me asking, "Well, what did you think of the movie?" I could not even begin to pull a complete sentence or thought together to express what I saw or felt. I think I just need time to let it "simmer."

I an idea of what you're feeling ...

I myself could not get out of the chair when the movie just as it was expected that Michael Jackson could get off the screen and say that he was alive!

At the same time was happy to see him shining in the film, at the same time sad to know that was the end for him ...

King of Pop was shining in my eyes glued to him all the time!

The great magic is that this light comes from inside out!

Michael Jackson has something much more spiritual than we can imagine or understand ...

At the end of the movie, people looked as if they chose to comfort the pain of the loss of our beloved King!

Just made me more upset with Conrad Murray ...

'Thriller' Director and Producer Say Michael Jackson Owes Money

Copyright 2009 Tao Chuan Yeh / Getty Images
The director and producer of the iconic "Thriller" music video are less than thrilled. George Folsey, Jr., the video's producer, filed a claim on Thursday stating that he is due more than $1 million for his contribution, according to The Associated Press.

An attorney for director John Landis also made a claim on Thursday against Michael Jackson's estate. He believes to be owed more than $1.3 million, the AP reported. He sued the singer prior to his death on the foundation that Jackson hadn't paid him his portion of profits in recent years.

Landis also filed a suit to prevent Jackson from pursuing additional "Thriller" projects, such as a Broadway show. The cases continue to be pending.

Jackson's former manager, Leonard Rowe, said he is owed more than $300,000 on Thursday. Earlier this week, dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein filed a claim as well.

I bet that the investigation won't happen until all of the TII promotion stuff done. They put aside the real underlying problem of this tragedy to gain profit. Don't get me wrong, I love TII but.. I don't know, its hard to explain. By the way, hello everyone.

My opinion about autophsy photo leak? Stupid and if its true.. Uncivilized.

irene   October 30th, 2009 11:01 am ET

What did f* did Klein claim...??

Susan62509   October 30th, 2009 11:02 am ET

Talking about Leonard Rowe's claim for money...

Did you read the letter from March 25,2009 that he will submit as evidence? It has lines drawn through sentences, supposedly MJ's handwritten changes on it......not dated or notorized?

MJ 's termination letter to Rowe is dated May 20, 2009.

I don't think Rowe is going to receive his claim in court.

All these people filing claims have all publically stated what close friends they all were after MJ died. I guess money over-took their friendship and mourning. How pitiful. R.I.P. MJ

Diane in Minneapolis   October 30th, 2009 11:24 am ET

I'm pretty sure MJ would not have been involved in the day to day activities of paying invoices. These outstanding payments are probably mostly due to his former business managers (Tohme?).
Also, many of these are probably not new. After someone dies, I think you have to re-file existing receivables with the estate. Branca and McClain will have to determine the validity of the claims.. Not every claim that is submitted is accurate or legal. Michael is the 3rd richest non-living celebrity so, for his legacy, I hope the debts will be cleaned up soon.

Susan62509   October 30th, 2009 11:35 am ET

Showbiz411 article today: Note the last paragraph. I love it.

Dr. Arnold Klein, Michael Jackson’s long time dermatologist, is determined to embarrass him today. Yes, Michael is dead, but his movie, “This Is It,” is opening to rave reviews. What can Dr. Klein do to steal the spotlight?

Well, he sued Michael yesterday for just under $50,000. Klein says Michael racked up that balance with him between March 23rd and June 22, 2009. Procedures were mostly facial things — Restalyne, suntanning, Botox, that sort of thing.

It’s interesting to note that Dr. Klein — for whom Debbie Rowe (they no longer speak) once worked, and who set up the birth of Blanket, Michael’s third child — charged Jackson a grotesque $5,000 for an unscheduled weekend appointment and $7,500 for another.

The purpose of the lawsuit does seem to be to reveal a laundry list of Michael’s treatments. Klein could have filed last summer, or waited until after “This Is It” was released — or even better, wrote off the amount since Jackson kept him in business for years. But greed is greed, and Klein picked yesterday to get maximum exposure. As Chrissie Hynde sings so brilliantly, “You know who your friends are.”

Now that Klein has filed suit, I do hope the Jackson executors file a complaint against him with the California Medical Board. Those fees seem usurious. The board might also look at the drugs Klein was giving Michael including Lantoprost, which is opthalmic — meaning for eye doctors, not dermatologists, to prescribe.

Susan62509   October 30th, 2009 11:37 am ET

From Showbiz411. Another Great Review:

Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” made $20 million worldwide opening on a Wednesday in October on the first night of the World Series. This is considered a tremendous success, not a disappointment. How it got labeled the latter is beyond me.

If “This Is It” makes $70 million domestically through Sunday night, believe me, Sony and AEG and Michael Jackson’s estate will be very happy. There’s no reason to think it won’t. The film has an across-the-board Cinemascope rating of A. Most of the reviews, except for one crazy one, are positive. THR’s Kirk Honeycutt lavished praise on it, and he’s tough, kids. If he likes it, you know it’s good.

A few days ago, one movie blog decided that “This Is It” should make $250 million in its first weekend. This is the usual craziness of bad or no reporting. If the movie makes just that domestically, and another $150 million abroad before its scheduled Jan. 20 DVD release, all parties will celebrate.

By the way, all the worldwide numbers aren’t in. The film opened in 10 more countries today. On Friday, record producer L.A. Reid is hosting a private A-list screening. There will be more of those.

Diane in Minneapolis   October 30th, 2009 11:51 am ET

Susan – thanks for the news! I am doing my part of movie viewing for sure.

Uncle Arnie just lost his best client and is probably being boycotted by others because of this. He said on LKL that he wants to do speaking engagements about ethics and integrity in the cosmetic surgery industry! BIG FAT LOL :). First he says he's the kids' dad, then he goes to their custody hearing, now he's filing these claims. Three swings and three misses for Uncle Arnie. Maybe he can get a little job in the slammer which is where he will probably go for teaching (albeit not well at all) Murray how to use propofol in a home setting. Debbie Rowe had his number a long time ago.

Anne   October 30th, 2009 12:12 pm ET

On Joy Behar's show on HLN last night, Frank Dileo said the children's trust funds are getting 90% of the profits from the movie (not true). He works for Sony now and is co producer of the film.

The film shows how close he was to his dream comeback.. It is like losing him all over again .....it is such a tragedy. It did not have to happen. If only they hadn't added all those extra concerts. If only the dates were not set in stone. If only he had gained weight and more endurance. If only he had felt less pressure so he could eat normally and sleep at night without meds. If only he had more time to prepare, maybe he would still be alive...He hadn't performed in years. He needed to take baby steps, I know now he could have done it. It was just too much too fast. But he could have gotten there with the right help.

Seeing the photos of his crypt in the mausoleum right after the film yesterday made it all too real and sad. I want justice but even more I want him back. I want him back to experience the joy and happiness and love he would have felt from his show being a huge success and the pride he would have felt at having his children see him perform. He deserved it so much. It was not supposed to end this way.

janice   October 30th, 2009 12:19 pm ET

For all of those who think the photos posted by Karen Faye on facebook are real...they are not. First of all, that is not even the "real" Karen Faye. The real one on facebook is Karen Faye Kissinger.

The photos that the "fake" Karen Faye has posted are a lie. The main photo which she has labeled "walk to Michael" is the opening of the grand mausoleum and has been published before. What appears to be a "tomb" in the center under the stained glass window has absolutely nothing to do with Michael Jackson. The photos with the "gifts" are staged and phony and are taken outside the mausoleum. Whoever this "fake" Karen Faye is, she is only trying to get attention. Even her profile photo is a photo that has been previously published of the real "Karen Faye Kissinger" and Michael.

The real "Karen" would never betray Michael or the Jacksons by publishing such fake photos on facebook and calling it "This is Really It." Lastly, Michael is interred in a crypt like everyone else there. Not on "display" at the end of a "walk." So much BS and some people believe it. Makes me sick.

Sandra   October 30th, 2009 12:21 pm ET

Janice do you have proof that the photos are fake?

marin-indonesia   October 30th, 2009 12:27 pm ET

@ anne: its true, it wasn't supposed to end this way. After seeing TII, my sadness has become deeper, it should be a perfect concert, I'll be forever grieved by this tragedy.

MourningMJ   October 30th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

@STU- 12:01 p.m.

STU- do not pay any attention to that nonsense. Everyone knows that you love your son, this should never ever be questioned or challenged by anyone in here. Our children are NONE of anyone else's business, especially that one person in particular who has no sense of reality whatsoever. Everyone who has known you for who you are is not even paying attention to that person's posts. Her statements are empty and worthless and do not make sense and she is trying to push your buttons. I'm flattered that she mentioned my name though- I must have had some impact on her that she still finds it necessary to still address me even though it's been clear I and several others have been ignoring her for some time now. You owe no one an explanation Stu. You are entitled to do whatever you please- God has given you the gift of time and you have chosen not to squander it and you are aware of this and that's all that matters. Furthermore, MOST non-believers DO support the believers- it's the mockers that are chastised. Period. And that's as far as it goes. {{{ I H. STU }}}

@ VICTORIA-

Your testimony of your experience with This is It is truly touching, Victoria. As I said before, Michael could move mountains efortlessly but it takes an exceptional, uncommon entity to move our souls. Michael Jackson was blessed with this unique and powerful gift that he introduced to us when he was just a small innocent child himself. Of course we feel violated that this gift was taken away from us- almost stolen. Without explanation. I can't imagine that our feelings would ever evaporate. Hibernate, maybe, but many of us have far too much rage and fury for it to ever starve and die out. Let it simmer, let it burn. Let it boil, let it churn. Love Lives Forever.

@12:02 Since when have we got to the point on this blog that someone feels the need to question another bloggers personal life. Stu, has been blogging here since the beginning and has been kind to all on this blog. It is no ones right to question someone elses parenting skills. You do not live with Stu and frankly his child's well-being is not your business. We can disagree on points relating to the topics at hand, but let's not get into judgements on each others lives. What does that do to further the mission of love and healing that Michael, desired for all of us to carry out?

Tinkerbell, Tinkerbell, what a genius you are. God Bless you.
Linda NY and dear Kasmal and Anne. I am out of words to thank you for your efforts to avenge Michael's death. COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. My only daily consolation is to think that Michael is at peace with God and no one can hurt him now. They will do anything disgusting to make a buck out of a dead person and this is very sad. LEAVE THE DIRT ALONE AND START PLEASE START TALKING ABOUT WHAT A SPECIAL ANGEL MICHAEL WAS. NOT ONE SAW THIS BUT US THE "FANS" Remember FANS, the devils hated the angels (jealousy) MICHAEL IS GREAT AND THE BEST (could be off but all of us are off - no one is perfect) NO ONE CAN BE ANOTHER MICHAEL JACKSON AND THEY ARE SOOOOOO ENVIOUS OF HIM. GOD IS WITH MICHAEL AND I'M HAPPY FOR THIS. PEACE TO ALL AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FANS, LOVE THE MOVIE. TXS.
LET ALL JOIN OUR EFFORTS TO PROSECUTE THE QUACKER PLEASE. TIME IS RUNNING OUT. Tinkerbell do something for Michael now. Thanks.

Anne   October 30th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

jan – Those articles are excellent at exposing the injustice he faced during his lifetime. I want justice for how he was treated while he was living, too. Sometimes, I want to go outside and shout to the heavens "I'm sorry Michael Jackson for the way the world treated you. Please forgive us!" I do not know how he survived it all. It seem that because he was an international superstar he became a magnet for people who wanted to destroy him any way they could.

MTV Newsroom Review TII Jackson is a Stubborn Visionary

"If there's one thing that collaborators and friends always said about Michael Jackson, it's that he had an unbelievable work ethic and was a staunch perfectionist. The film seems to focus on establishing that as his legacy, and that like many geniuses he was sometimes undone by his demand for constant excellence. And yet despite his workhorse tendencies, he was clearly a joy to work with, as the film offers a look at his infectious energy. "

"As Ditzian puts it, the film creates "a glowing portrait," leaving out any of the unpleasantness that has followed Jackson's death. But it seems less like a trick of editing and more like a tribute to the thing that clearly dominated the end of the King of Pop's life: The need to deliver one final, stunning performance that would be a lasting memory. "Michael Jackson's This Is It" is not what he intended, but it seems like it comes awfully close."

Michael Jackson on stage, in control
'This Is It' celebrates his life, talent

BY BILL GOODYKOONTZ
ARIZONA REPUBLIC
It's hard to approach "Michael Jackson's This Is It," the behind-the-scenes documentary in which Jackson prepared for a series of sold-out concerts, without some cynicism. It's hard to leave it without excitement and respect, tinged with regret for what might have been.Jackson died in June before embarking on the 50-show stand in England.

When it was announced that a full-length movie consisting of footage from Jackson's rehearsals for the concerts would be released, it was easy to dismiss it as one last trip to the Michael Jackson Money Machine before it ran dry.Too easy, it turns out. Yes, "This Is It" is a vanity project, existing in part to offer a view of Jackson as a vital entertainer in full control of his career. And in that, the movie succeeds without reservation.

Though noticeably thin, Jackson is in full vocal command, particularly on hits such as "Human Nature" and "Beat It," and his dance moves are everything you would expect. Some will note that Jackson doesn't always sing songs the whole way through, as in the opening "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'," but remember, this is a rehearsal. At times he seems to be more concerned with getting the feel of a song, with making sure his dancers and musicians are executing what he's seeing and hearing in his head, than with performing himself.

Kenny Ortega, a friend of Jackson's and the director of Disney's "High School Musical" films, directs the stage show and the film from more than 100 hours of footage. But the movie is constructed in such a way as to make it clear that Jackson directed everything else. Jackson gives detailed instructions to the musical director, going more on feel than technique, till he gets what he wants. Indeed, most of what he does seems intuitive, leaving the musicians and dancers with the staggering task of keeping up

.Any evidence of eccentricity or scandal is missing. In its place is a performer in full command of his gifts. Even those who aren't fans of Jackson's will find value in the sheer amount of effort that goes into producing such a spectacle.

That high-pitched, soft voice Jackson spoke with the last few years? Gone. Instead, Jackson uses a much more confident tone. And why not? When he was on stage, he was away from everything else. He was in his element. He was home.

Of course, it's now clear that not all was well. One might suppose that at least some hint of the lurid details surrounding Jackson's death would pop up, some sign of failing health. But Jackson seems just fine as he sings and dances. His energy and enthusiasm prevent you from looking too closely for any signs of trouble.

Is it the same experience as a concert film? No. In some respects, it's better. It's more fascinating to watch Jackson and his creative team work out the details of what would have been a monstrously elaborate show, to sweat every little thing, than it would be to see the polished final product.

"This Is It" is not, ultimately, the story of Jackson's last few weeks alive, but instead stands as a celebration of a life and career that still held the promise of more to come.

Brittani   October 30th, 2009 2:21 pm ET

Well, seems there's another lap of stupidity that was opened by media for media. Remember: revolutions feeds on its children.
In Europe, tabloids are since 20 years continuously losing ground and followers. Better you get back to some level of ethics and dignity or you will go down river Jordan as others have proven yet.

Back to the positive news of the day: THIS IS IT.
Very very beautiful, distinctive, thoughtful, strong, leaving a huge smile.

I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm starting to think that maybe all of these people are fakes. Michael would never play with us the way these people are doing. He would be honest with us,put an end to all these games and imposters and set the record straight.

Dr. Seuss' real name was Theodor Geisel...I wonder what **mj** and **M**'s real names are?
C'mon if Seuss can come clean, why can't the two of you, or three of you, or four?

This Is It Michael Jackson shows he still had It to the very end

Ebert Rating: **** by Roger Ebert

"This Is it," Michael Jackson told his fans in London, announcing his forthcoming concert tour. "This is the final curtain call." The curtain fell sooner than expected. What is left is this extraordinary documentary, nothing at all like what I was expecting to see. Here is not a sick and drugged man forcing himself through grueling rehearsals, but a spirit embodied by music. Michael Jackson was something else.

The film has been assembled from rehearsals from April through June 2009 for a concert tour scheduled for this summer. The footage was "captured by a few cameras," an opening screen tells us, but they were professional high-def cameras and the sound track is full-range stereo. The result is one of the most revealing music documentaries I've seen.

And it's more than that. It's a portrait of Michael Jackson that belies all the rumors that he would have been too weak to tour. That shows not the slightest trace of a spoiled prima donna. That benefits from the limited number of cameras by allowing us to experience his work in something closer to realistic time, instead of fracturing it into quick cuts. That provides both a good idea of what the final concert would have looked like, and a portrait of the artist at work.

Never raising his voice, never showing anger, always soft-spoken and courteous to his cast and crew, Michael with his director, Kenny Ortega, micro-manages the production. He corrects timing, refines cues, talks about details of music and dance. Seeing him always from a distance, I thought of him as the instrument of his producing operation. Here we see that he was the auteur of his shows.

We know now that Michael was subjected to a cocktail of drugs in the time leading up to his fatal overdose, including the last straw, a drug so dangerous it should only be administered by an anesthesiologist in an operating room. That knowledge makes it hard to understand how he appears to be in superb physical condition. His choreography, built from such precise, abrupt and perfectly-timed movements, is exhausting, but he never shows a sign of tiring. His movements are so well synchronized with the other dancers on stage, who are much younger and highly-trained, that he seems one with them. This is a man in such command of his physical instrument that he makes spinning in place seem as natural as blinking his eye.

He has always been a dancer first, and then a singer. He doesn't specialize in solos. With the exception of a sweet love ballad, his songs all incorporate four backup singers and probably supplementary tracks prerecorded by himself. It is the whole effect he has in mind.

It might have been a hell of a show. Ortega and special effects wizards coordinate pre-filmed sequences with the stage work. There's a horror-movie sequence with ghouls rising from a cemetery (and ghosts that were planned to fly above the audience). Michael is inserted into scenes from Rita Hayworth and Humphrey Bogart movies, and through clever f/x even has a machine-gun battle with Bogie. His environmental pitch is backed by rain forest footage. He rides a cherry-picker high above the audience.

His audience in this case consists entirely of stagehands, gaffers, technicians, and so on. These are working people who have seen it all. They love him. They're not pretending. They love him for his music, and perhaps even more for his attitude. Big stars in rehearsal are not infrequently pains in the ass. Michael plunges in with the spirit of a co-worker, prepared to do the job and go the distance.

How was that possible? Even if he had the body for it, which he obviously did, how did he muster the mental strength? When you have a doctor on duty around the clock to administer the prescription medications you desire, when your idea of a good sleep is reportedly to be unconscious for 24 hours, how do you wake up into such a state of keen alertness? Uppers? I don't think it quite works that way. I was watching like a hawk for any hint of the effects of drug abuse, but couldn't see any. Perhaps it's significant that of all the people in the rehearsal space, he is the only one whose arms are covered at all times by long sleeves.

Well, we don't know how he did it. "This Is It" is proof that he did do it. He didn't let down his investors and colleagues. He was fully prepared for his opening night. He and Kenny Ortega, who also directed this film, were at the top of their game. There's a moving scene on the last day of rehearsal when Jackson and Ortega join hands in a circle with all the others, and thank them. But the concert they worked so hard on was never to be.

This is it.

Cynobia   October 30th, 2009 3:05 pm ET

Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you 🙂

My opinion on the photos being leaked is as follows: Whoever has them if they have them should be charged with stolen evidence, along with the person leaking them, and the person that leaked the photos should lose his or her job, get a fine and some jail time. People trust you at their most venerable point, and you make a mockery and joke of the fact that they have passed and deserve the basic right of all of us, to rest in peace. To the person passing this around: How would you like it if it was your child, mother, father, brother, sister, yourself or family member being passed around for the world to judge, critique and look at? Yes Michael was a star, but above all he was a human being like the rest of us, and deserves to be treated like one. It seems the day God handed out compassion some were absent. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF WHOEVER YOU ARE.

Travis Payne on showing the rehearsal video.

"I think in the past Michael would not have wanted people to see that entire process because he didn't [allow it] before," Payne says. "But I think that he wanted so much to be great and amazing and perfect, and we would tell him 'you don't have to be perfect. We all love you. We're here to support you. We're your family. You don't have to be perfect. Just give us what you want to give us every day. We'll take that. It's enough. Just be Michael Jackson.' He allowed himself to relax into it a little more."

Why the movie is called "Michael Jackson's This Is It"? That makes appear as though he's the writer, director and producer of the film much like "Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All By Myself" where he's the writer, director, producer.

Perhaps Michael Jackson movie production company is the next phase...

Maggie   October 30th, 2009 5:28 pm ET

To all of the people who actually think Michael is posting here:

Don't you think Michael would have WAY more important things to do like uh...being a father to his 3 kids?!

If Michael is alive, which I know he is not; I think he would be spending as much time with his children as he can and not spending all his time on a blog.

IMO

Desire   October 30th, 2009 5:28 pm ET

I have just seen the film. As all my friends left the city for a weekend, I went to see it on my own. I am writing now because I just want to share my thoughts and emotions with somebody, and this blog seems to be an appropriate place.
I do not know what I was expecting, but I got much more than that in any case. He looked just fine to me. He was 51!!! An he was still dancing and singing amazingly well! Comon guys who are saying Michael was weak or frail!!! Let's face the fact, you cannot compare physical abillity and fitness of anyone at the age of 25 or 30 and when you are 50!!! In my opinion he was doing just great. And those were reharsals!!! He was fit, and he was able to performe. I read in some newspapers tha he looked druged and confused. I have not seen any of this. A lot of recordings were from the last couple of days, when he was in that red shirt. He was doing his best right there towards the end. I have recently seen parts of his concerts in Munich 1999. You can see it on the youtube as MJ and friends Munich 1999. He looked much thiner there than just before he died. He looked thiner even during Dangerous tour.
I do not believe he was opioid (Heroin, Morphine...)addict. I just believe he could not sleep. There are so many people these days who suffer from insomnia. They all use different kinds of medications to put them asleep in order to get through demanding working hours.
Michael was just unlucky to meet money hungry, unethical doctors who were ready to do anything just to earn a bit of money.
I am a doctor, anaesthesiologist, and I know what I am talking about.

For those who have not seen the film, just go and see it. If you love Michael, you will enjoy the film. If you do not like him for some reason, you might just realise how capable he was even at the age of 51 and how wonderful, gentle and kind man he was.

I love you Michael!!! I am so sorry that I have not seen you performing alive. That would have been an extraordinary, unearthly experience for me.

II hope the angels are looking after you!!!

this is on the other post it is very interesting:

*Michael...L.O.V.E.* October 29th, 2009 5:35 pm ET

I have to go for now. As you continue your investigation, consider the following.

If the footage belonged to me for my use, then who gave AEG the authority to sell my rights to Sony? Also, if Sony now owns the rights, then why are all the "rights exclusively the property of The Michael Jackson Company?"

Keep the faith. It's all for love...L.O.V.E.

MaryRM   October 30th, 2009 5:57 pm ET

There was an article on the CBC website that was written by someone who should really work for a tabloid. (last name was Dymond, can you believe it?) Anyway, I posted my comment, below and later in the day their next article on the This is It film was a far more professional one. Complaining directly to the media and slamming them for their lack of professionalism is the best way – IMO

Here is what I wrote:
If the film focuses on his normalcy, it would be because the media treated him as weird, bizarre. It is so sad that you claim to be a journalist but cling to the tired old labels.

And it was not his weirdness that caused him to leave the U.S., it was his virtual lynching. One cannot blame him for being desperate to regain his reputation and career after that.

Time to end the dark ages and return to real journalism – objective reporting of facts. Something this writer makes no effort to do concerning Michael Jackson.

jan   October 30th, 2009 6:37 pm ET

I GOT AN ANSWER TO ABOVE POST:

154. OMG! No need to trash posters in here! Danged! We might always agree on something but one thing is firm, our quest to see justice for Michael Jackson.

JC does work for a record co. but it isnt owned by MJ. He also does work as a dancer. Excuse me for saying it, but I have noticed more often than not some of the guys; friends MJ was involved with have grown up to be a little on the feminine side. Just sayin. IMO something tells me what happened to MJ is tied to something that happened in the past. Same people working at the same studios; ect.

if Michael would be alive,Kethirine wouldnt fight for her rights in Michael estate..

Lisa S October 30th, 2009 4:03 am ET

Those of you who claims michael is alive have you seen TII at all? After having seen all the effort, all the emotions and all the excitment the crew had put in to the show do you still think that MJ would have fooled them and pretended to be dead? Did you see the tailior stitching the swarovsky chrystals on the jackets one by one? Did you see how the dancers reahearsed over and over again? How much effort he put in him self into makeing this the best show in history?

If you think that Michael Jackson could shattered all their dreams like that, then you dont know Michael at all!

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   October 30th, 2009 7:49 pm ET

Just to change the topic sorry to something brighter and not morbid –

I know Michael Jackson liked Classical Music...........well I just happened to come upon the violin maestro...........ANDRE RIEU's (The Flying Dutchman) classical music.

This is not to take away from Michael.........but he just takes this type of music to another level. He's amazing. You never get sick of listening to him.........I must add.

I am so glad to have discovered him. I think he has just visited New Zealand too........and I am so angry I've missed seeing him.

I've heard the rave reviews about him and I can see why. He takes you out of this world.

WHITESOX FROM USA   October 30th, 2009 8:02 pm ET

I FOR ONE DON'T WANT TO SEE THE KING OF POPS DEAD BODY. I DON'T THINK I COULD HANDLE THAT. BESIDES I WANT TO REMEMBER THE LOVING BIG~HEART HE HAD AND THE MUSIC HE LEFT BEHIND FOR US ALL TO ENJOY FOREVER. THAT PART OF HIM WILL NEVER NEVER DIE. WE FANS THAT HAVE BEEN WITH MICHAEL SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING SO THEREFORE WE REMEMBER WILL DO OUR LEVEL BEST TO ENSURE HIS LEGACY AS A GOOD MAN AND A MASTER ENTERTAINER WILL LIVE ON IN THE HEARTS OF UPCOMING GENERATIONS. PASS ON GODS L.O.V.E. LIKE MICHAEL ALWAYS WANTED US TO DO.

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   October 30th, 2009 8:03 pm ET

No, of course we don't know Michael at all. We probably like to think we do, but not really.

I thought he was a private person in some ways. Still an enigma to me. I think it was Lisa Marie Presley that said he was not to be underestimated.

Denise do Rio de Janeiro - Brasil   October 30th, 2009 8:12 pm ET

Hello Jan, thank you for your attention

Since Michael Jackson died I began to attend TMZ, where I found a chain of love and support each other, trying to overcome this pain today cut the people's hearts and never seems to go ...

I read more than I comment, I have difficulties with English, some terms do not understand, but you feel closer to Michael Jackson.

When she started the mess of enemies attacking Tmz GS could not post more, my comments evaporate, OMG I was furious and wanting to defend GS could not.

Every day I read the posts and I read the attacks on Deb, Sue Tampa, etc ... I get nervous and unable to be there to increase our strength.

I am following the illness of Henry and praying with friends TMZ by Deb.

Please send hugs to the fans of our beloved "King of Pop" on TMZ that there are to be congratulated for fighting the enemies!

I love you and I pleased to participate in this chain of love, God bless you!

Big hug Jan.

Katrina,Ohio   October 30th, 2009 8:15 pm ET

No noone in their right normal mind wants to see an autopsy of anyone especially of the king of pop. It is remotely morbid!!!!!Also a change of discussion, I was wondering if anyone ever thought that maybe Micheal commited suicide?? I personally feel he did because of his comment to Lisa Presley and someone else about how his fate would pretty much be like Elvis Presley's fate. Also all of the untrue rumors people spread about him to get money. I feel he had enough of life and too , who isn't to say that Micheal didn't ask his doctor to help him commit suicide? I mean you can't tell me that that doesn't happen because it does. This is life anything can happen!!!!!!!!!!

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   October 30th, 2009 8:15 pm ET

Don't you know that Elvis Presley's full autopsy report will remain closed until about the year 2023, I think. Please correct me anyone if I'm wrong.

A Musing on Michael and This Is It

Shaking his head, one of the guitarists stated in almost disbelief…“It’s remarkable…genius stuff going on here…” I bowed my head for just a moment, tears dripping from my eyes, probably ruining my new silk blouse, but I did not really care, because at that point in the movie I knew I was experiencing a very rare and intimate look into the entertainment world of a music phenomenon, a real modern day genius. With all the soulful preparation I had put myself through to be able to even walk into the theater, I was still unprepared for the journey I took with Michael on October 29. It is a mystery how he was able to take me to a place I cannot describe, for I do not know where I went and I do not know how I got there, but once there my emotions were taken full circle leaving me suspended craving more of what he was giving. This was only a rehearsal; this was a man fine tuning his art, his craft embodied in the music, electrifying me and carrying me to euphoria. It felt dangerous and safe at the same time. But it felt that way only in that space in time. Whatever I had thought of Michael Jackson before this night, he became something more. Much more. I have poured over his concerts becoming a part of Michael's admirers, willingly being lured to him while he allowed the music to captivate, manipulating every fabric of his body with the dance and seductively incorporating stillness and silence for dramatic pause, pulling us further into his world. At 50, Michael was the “it” of This Is It, still able to use all his weapons, and use them very effectively. I saw what Michael wanted me to see; if I saw deeper into the man and who he was at that moment in time it was blurred by the fact that even a sensible and older woman could be held spellbound by Michael Jackson for two hours in a theater and the amount of time it took for the rush of adrenaline to leave my body. Last night was a mystery. Michael was a mystery and though Michael alluded to his mystical or supernatural power often, even he did not understand it. If he had unraveled this thread of his being maybe he would still be here with us; but would he have been the same caliber of entertainer, humanitarian or person? We will never know ... What I do know is that I was given a gift last night to have a glimpse of a genius ... yes, there was something remarkable going on there at those rehearsals.

Jessie from Auckland, NZ   October 30th, 2009 8:59 pm ET

Just put it this way...........stranger things have happened.

The news that Michael's autopsy photos got leaked leaves me speechless... I wonder how can such people call themselves human... It is sickening and beyond all ethical considerations... All I can say is show some respect for Michael... The news is devastating for those who love Michael from the core of their hearts... We haven't recovered from his loss yet...

elisabeth   November 1st, 2009 10:54 am ET

I have the same question with you Ozzie!!!!! Whoever is him i love them both for doing this because they both believe that michael is alive!!!!!!! michael if you are really on this site please talk to me.......
how are you????

C   November 1st, 2009 6:42 pm ET

Regarding the possibility of MJ being alive.........

I have seen NUMEROUS postings regarding this thought on many other sites and I have to say that it is a REAL POSSBILITY that MJ is alive and did indeed fake his death.

I saw the movie 4 TIMES this week and I talked with people in the threatre and there are those who believe the same; DID MJ FAKE HIS DEATH ?? If so; will he show up again or will he remain dead ? How many are covering up the hoax ? Did anyone in the US government help him....US attorney general, Department of Justice, etc. You just don't know...........

Katherine was seen shopping for sleeping bags just a matter of a day or days after MJ died ?? No one cries during the memorial; not even Paris cried real tears. Yeah; she misses her daddy but where were the tears ? She was fiddling with her purse just moments before her little speech. Think about it.

Many things don't add up regarding his death; the reporting of his death, the memorial service and so called burial; all looked staged and questionable. There was no open casket; CPR does not damage the face and anyone with a touch of make up could have made MJ look presentable to the world if need be. PULEESE !! It is a lie that CPR damaged MJ's face; this was the excuse the family used.

It was commented above regarding WHO would have to be ' in on it ". I think that MJ being MJ and knowing that he is capable of the spectacular and wanting to have a come back this would be the perfect method of a come back. Look at the designer outfits he wore for a rehearsal; sparklies, spangles, shoulder pads. Compare TII to the videos shot while he was rehearsing for the Dangerous tour; no comparison. I cannot imagine the amount of staging and equipment that would have to be torn down and shipped to London with just a few weeks away from a major tour opening. People have to be relocated; adjust to a new time zone; reset the stage, props, lighting, etc.

There are many questions regarding this and although as wacky as it sounds and the thought boggles the mind; it is NOT impossible. MJ was an entertainer of the IMPOSSIBLE; not the norm and mediocre; the IMPOSSIBLE was accomplished and for whatever reason he may have had ( maybe 50 concerts were too much for him; it was reported that Tohme Tohme was threatening him; I had seen those statements on other websites, he owed millions, etc ); he decided it BEST to fake his death. This could have been in the works for years; months; and when the time was right; the plan was put into action. The kids are being looked after and his mother is taken care of; those were his concerns. I wouldn't doubt that MJ is in touch with his kids.

I wouldn't doubt the ability of MJ to pull this off and that he has money off shore somewhere and if this is true; if he is indeed alive I would be ecstatic.

I know it sounds like a dream come true but MJ dreamed BIG and this may be just the DREAM come back he's been desiring but I guess until we are proven otherwise we have to just wait it out and see what happens........

MJ ! ONE THE LINE !!

7Butterflies   November 1st, 2009 8:46 pm ET

I'm shure this photo is jast another fake!

MaryRM   November 2nd, 2009 7:45 am ET

Jessie from Auckland, NZ October 30th, 2009 7:49 pm ET
...ANDRE RIEU

yes, and Andre did a tribute to Michael, I think it was in Vienna, on his violin and the people in the audience were moved to tears. It was very touching and gives one an idea of the depth and breadth of Michael's impact on the world of music and the world in general.

sunrise   November 2nd, 2009 5:55 pm ET

It is very sad and painful. This is not fair. Unfortunately in this world ruled by stupidity and ignorance. God give you all happiness.
With love from Russia

Tom Joyce   November 2nd, 2009 10:18 pm ET

Has anyone heard any thing about the police investigation? I thought something was supposed to happen a week or so ago.

Veronica   November 3rd, 2009 6:04 am ET

Unbelievable. The world is full of disturbed people.

MJtheHuman   November 3rd, 2009 1:57 pm ET

Does this really surprise anyone?!

I am not saying that it is right.

But has society gotten any better since Lady Diana's death? It has gotten worse.

And Michael spoke of how worse it has gotten, and that we need to do something about it.

I guess quite a few people need to "Look at the Man in The Mirror"

หน่า* elena*   November 3rd, 2009 7:36 pm ET

lies and lies again!!
The tabloids on fire!

KOuk   November 3rd, 2009 10:26 pm ET

Tabloids are such full of GREED, they are sick people who have nothing to comment but distract the peace of a loving King of Pop. I just wish these people rot in HELL when their time ends.

debbiE   November 5th, 2009 4:32 pm ET

i guess there is no bottom to the pit people will crawl out of.
I wish they would arrest the people responsible for his death and get over this once and for all. Let the family heal and let Michael rest in peace.

dawnmarie   November 6th, 2009 10:18 am ET

just another fake story on Michael. I really hope that ALL the lies on Michael those person would be made SHAME for all to see. VICTORY for Michael. I will defend Michael at all cause.
