Kate Gosselin To Host Her Own Talk Show?

Posted: 11:54 AM ET

By Marc Malkin via E! Online

art.kategosselin.cnnIf you miss Kate Gosselin's run on The View this week, not to worry. She's apparently gunning for her own ladies-only chatfest.

And I hear Gosselin may already be cooking something up with a well-seasoned television veteran.

Keep reading to find out what's going and who's involved…

Sources tell me that Telepictures—the media heavyweight behind Ellen DeGeneres' and Tyra Banks' hit shows—is looking to develop a View-like morning show with Gosselin and television cooking queen Paula Deen.

"They're looking around and casting for other women to be on the show with them," one source said. "But they want all the women to be moms."

For the one percent of the world's population who may not know this already, Gosselin, 34, has eight little ones with estranged husband Jon, 32.

Deen, 62, has two grown sons, Jamie and Bobby. She already hosts three shows, Paula's Home Cooking, Paula's Party and Paula's Best Dishes, for the Food Network. Although Deen signed a deal with Telepictures to host her own syndicated talk show, the project never took off.

A rep for Telepictures would not confirm or deny a Gosselin-Deen show was in the works. "We don't comment on any development activity," the rep said.

Gosselin told Entertainment Weekly about four months ago she has hopes of landing a talk show.  "There are no mom-centered talk shows," she told the magazine. "I think that would be a very comfortable thing for me."

I watched Kate Gosselin on The View. She does not have the personality to do a talk show format. Granted, it may have been difficult to speak up with the likes of Whoppi Goldberg or Joy Behar at the table, as they are seasoned pros. But Kate did not shine at all.

It's one thing to do a Reality Show but Kate is too flat to host a talk show, even one that is mom-centered. I question if she can carry it. She should spend that time with her kids, who really need a mom around them with this public divorce and not one focused on furthering her career with 8 little ones at home.

lindafromnewyork   September 16th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

Give me a break-she just needs to take care of her kids. Get out of the limelight.

righton   September 16th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

I think it would be great ! Go Kate

But I hope that means and end to the TLC show. Those kids need peace now more than ever and out of the spot light. I saw her on the view and while yes she is not up to speed on alot of the current events and culture but she is a very smart lady – lets give her a chance if it means she will lessen the kids visability and keep that Tool of an ex (aka Jon) out.

Jeri   September 16th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

Here's a good name for Kate's talk show:

How to Ignore 8 Small Children at Home in the Midst of a Divorce so I can Chase More Money and Tell Other Mothers What to do with Their Kids with my Terrific Advise.

Sounds like a winner.

Alex   September 16th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

it is so sad that neither she, nor Jon can not be selfless enough to raise 8 children.

Raychil   September 16th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

If this will make her quite Jon & Kate, I am all or it. Get the little ones out of the spotlight. And how that loser Jon how much better off you are without him.

denise   September 16th, 2009 2:15 pm ET

Nothing but wannabes, I for one not a fan of any CELEB WANNABEs and chose not to watch the View when she was co-hosting the last 2 days. Sorry ladies at the View, I am a huge fan especially my fav Sherri Shepherd.

It's ridiculous, first the octo mom now this, good luck with y'all ratings.

Mary U from Ohio   September 16th, 2009 2:18 pm ET

No way..... The way she treated Jon on the Jon & Kate plus 8 Show... What i see is kate bossing Paula around and running her down....

Who is going to watch the Kids???.... Kate is all about Kate.. F–k the kids......Jon should get the kids....

Mary U from Ohio   September 16th, 2009 2:25 pm ET

CNN why do you keep putting these articles out... WE are at your Throat with Michael... and the dumb articles... Now Kate.. That got everybody hating her....

Cali MJ Fan   September 16th, 2009 4:23 pm ET

Love Paula Deen but won't watch her on this show. Would pick another of her Food Network shows to watch cause I doubt that she'll give those up on a risky venture like Kate.

solty   September 16th, 2009 5:19 pm ET

When I saw Kate on The View I kept wondering why she was on all of these shows and not home with her kids, isn't this one of the things Jon complained about? It seems she wants to be A famous celebrity now, isn't one show enough?

Terry, TX   September 16th, 2009 5:37 pm ET

Who cares.....raise your children on your dime....not ours.

THE VAST MAJORITY OF REPUBLICANS ARE RACIST.

I AM A DEMOCRAT
But, what is the point in electing more democrats in 2010 if
the devil damn democrats we now have do not have the guts
to pass some kind of health-care bill; and maybe we should be
thinking Clinton for 2012. Just trying is not good enough, Mr. President.

WAKE UP MR. PRESIDENT!

MR. PRESIDENT, IT IS STUPID TO ASK STATES TO PUT UP MONEY
TO GET FEDERAL MONEY. STATES HAVE NO WAY TO GET MONEY
EXCEPT FROM TAXES. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS THE ABILITY TO CREATE MONEY, AND IT SHOULD.

EVERY LITTLE COUNTRY OF THE WORLD HAS THE POWER TO
CREATE MONEY; NOT ONE OF THE FIFTY UNITED STATES HAVE
THE POWER TO CREATE MONEY.

MONEY HAS TO BE CREATED BEFORE ITS EQUIVALENT VALUE
CAN BE PRODUCED. MONEY SHOULD ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE
FOR CREATING GOODS AND SERVICES.

IF PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT HAD LISTENED TO REPUBLICANS, ALL
OF US WOULD BE MARCHING TO THE GERMANY GOOSE STEP.
REPUBLICANS ARE TO BE PITIED, BUT IGNORED.

WHILE THE WORLD WALLOWED IN DEPRESSION, ADOLF HITLER WENT TO GREAT EXTREMES TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE
MONEY SUPPLY; AND THEN CREATED THE MONEY NEEDED TO PUT ALL THE PEOPLE TO WORK PRODUCING GOODS AND SERVICES. MR. PRESIDENT, ARTICLE 1, SECTION 8, OF THE CONSTITUTION GIVES THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ALL THE POWER NEEDED TO PUT ALL THE PEOPLE BACK TO WORK OR
BACK IN SCHOOL. THIS RECESSION IS A PRODUCT OF IGNORANCE.

THE NATIONAL DEBT IS NOT NECESSARY. MONEY SHOULD BE TIED THE VALUE OF THE GOODS AND SERVICES THAT AMERICA'S HANDS AND MIND PRODUCE.

WE NEED TO GET OFF OF A GOLD STANDARD MENTALITY. WE DON'T NEED ANY OF CHINA'S MONEY. WE CAN NOT GO BANKRUPT UNLESS WE LET IGNORANCE RULE. WE CAN NATIONALIZE THE NATIONAL DEBT IF NECESSARY.

carol kesling   September 16th, 2009 9:53 pm ET

kate owns show ???? PLEASE STAY HOME & RAISE ALL YOUR KIDS.......

Maria G.   September 16th, 2009 9:57 pm ET

I have never watch an episode of John and Kate or anything she is on so I really can't make an educated coment, except that she seems to be every where except at home.

Kim in NC   September 16th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

Kate you were terrible hosting The View she has a personality of a shoesrting I dont watch her reality show any more her and Jon make me sick the only good reality show now is IMO the little couple they are truely an inspiration to watch the obsticles they must of went through in their lives I coulnt imagine I hope TLC cancels Kate and make her and Jon get a real job It makes me sick to see everyday the struggles parents go through and these people the gosselins get paid well just for having a bunch of kids TLC should take that money and do a reality that inspires people for the better after all isnt TLC the learning channel what are we learning from Jon and Kate NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marcia Reres   September 16th, 2009 10:31 pm ET

I think both Kate and Jon are poor excuses for parents. Lets not put
either one of them on another TV show. They both need to learn to deal
with each other so they can raise their beautiful children.Children are
made up of both parents. When one parent denies the goodness of the other parent they deni part of the child.Grow up and be civil to each other for the children.

Nicole S. -- North Carolina   September 16th, 2009 11:17 pm ET

Kate Gosselin is thinking only of herself. She should be concentrating on raising her eight children. When will she have time to spend with them if she's working on a talk show non-stop? She needs to stop trotting around the country and stay at home sometimes. No wonder the twins, unfortunately, need therapy.

As someone who watched "Jon & Kate + 8" from the onset, Kate has done nothing but belittle her husband before a national audience. It's high time he's sprouted a backbone.

What Jon has done as of late is wrong! However, Kate has been hateful to him for quite some time, and allowed being in the limelight go to her head. People are calling Jon a bad father. Well, I hate to break it to you, but Kate doesn't exactly qualify for 'Mother of the Year' either.

Vitoria   September 17th, 2009 12:05 am ET

Does Kate gosselin parents or uncle owns part of the TV network ?

are you serious ? Give this woman her own talk show ?

what is going on with the American TV , they can not find or talk about anybody or any other subject instead of this Kate or her husband ?
I think that they made a fool of themselves on public television and they also cash enough money so please stop their show and let them disappear from public television before more harm is done to their reputation and more important their children , the problem with american television is that they repeat their news over and over again like is not more important issues going on in this word right now more important then this spoiled and selfish couple that explore
their privacy and their supposed loved children , enough is enough .

Terrie   September 17th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Kate Gosslin has tasted fame and celeb status which got into her blood permanently. She has done nothing but insult her husband as much as she can and she's not even a saint! Kate is just as guilty for being a control fanatic who has belitted Jon on the reality show. What man would put up with her demeaning remarks in front of millions of tv viewers.

Kate Gosslin need to start making her little children her priority and they are at the age of needing their parents and guidance as they are growing up. If she has her reality show, Kate will be hardly at home to take care of the adorable munchkins.

volleyballchick   October 1st, 2009 9:46 pm ET

I think that Jon is getting the raw end of the deal in all of this. He is the only one that seems to want to put his kids first, but it seems like everyone in the media is on Kate's side. Have they not been watching the show, Kate is all about Kate. Have you ever seen her clean the house or give the kids baths......NO, she is just worried about how she looks. Even at the very beginning of the show all you seen Kate do was maybe make some lunches that consists of sandwiches and some veggies. I have never seen her clean the house or do anything except yell at Jon all the time. Kate needs to start thinking about her kids not the money. On the show all you ever see is Jon doing all the work inside and out with the kids and all you seen Kate do is yelling. So I would like to say GO Jon, keep sticking up for your kids and yourself! Good luck to you and your kids.
