In a positive light, his legacy in terms of his career as a musician is incomparable. There isn't an artist today that has his fan recognition on a global level. There isn't an artist today, or in the past, who broke all racial divides to become a musician for all ages and people. In the industry he was incomparable, as so many of his colleagues and music producers have testified.

Yes,he did have flaws;yes,he did lose his life to an addiction; but he gave so much more of himself to people than was expected, and that should override any negative characteristics that he possessed. Apart from Elvis,no living person, let alone deceased, has been imitated and influenced a culture as he did! Please let Michael RIP.

stephanie   June 29th, 2009 3:11 pm ET

People who didn't believe in Jesus, believed in Michael Jackson and that made him a legend.

anthony macchio   June 29th, 2009 3:18 pm ET

larry always calls it like it is
cmon doesnt anyone think it was inappropriate for mr joe jackson to be out last night at the bet awards working the red carpet and celbrating at the show before there has even been a funeral.
Yes it was a tribute to MJ but the family shd me laying low and in mourning.

abby richard   June 29th, 2009 3:49 pm ET

This is to Joe Jackson,

Your son Michael is now dead, you can not longer claim him as a commodity. Shame on you, I saw you on your recent interview promoting your new recording partner, guess what, no wonder your son Michael hated you, I feel just the same way. You, sir, killed your son! You probably don`t even know what you did...you idiot!

Dear Larry

i want to know why hasn't anyone mentioned about Michael Jackson being a born Jehovah Witness just like his father. I strongly disagree with any religion that denies blood transfusions to prolong life. Maybe his type of religion made him sad, angered, and lonely which contributed to his drug use. Jehovah witnesses believe one day that they'll meet again after death and that's why we shouldn't rule out suicide. I found the Joe Jackson interview with CNN at the bet award as being very disturbing with comments Joe made about his record label and kind of ignoring Micheal's death some ways. Hey, why not, they'll meet again someday.

Maria   June 29th, 2009 3:58 pm ET

Larry, I would have Milo Brando back on your show, obviously he was lying about EVERYTHING...So, far we know for sure that Michael had NO food in his stomach, only partially disolved pills. Milo said, while he was with Michael the night before at the late rehersals, he saw him eat, laugh, dance and be merry. And that he was with Michael into the earlier hours on the day he died......Milo barely looked into the Camera when he was asked questions.....He lied plain and simple, what else is he lying about? This sounds a lot like the night John Belucshi died!!

Sincerely,
A Grieving Fan....

Maria

Margie   June 29th, 2009 4:25 pm ET

What is the Nation of Islam connection to Michael Jackson?

I believe he was a Jehovah Witness but switched to Islam. Were they his body guards and alienated him from family and friends?

mandi   June 29th, 2009 4:27 pm ET

Michael we will miss you there is no once else who can sing like you no comparison i remember watching you as a little girl and no one can be compare to you and everyone who speak such evil of another human being will be judge by God there are people out there who try to destroy michael's sanity but we donot believe michael molested any of those children and nothing anyone say can convince us it's quite funny only the white kids was molested and there were all colour children on his property they always cry rape when they want money why don't guy's work hard and stay off welfare and stop trying to get easy money.

mandi   June 29th, 2009 4:33 pm ET

Everyone if you have nothing good to say about Michael shut your big mouth you all have your own skeleton in your closet how about you dig the beam out of your eye first before you do it to someone else Stop crying your children been rape by Michael because you know it's not true you shouldnot send your children there in the first place remember Michael is Black and you guys don;'t like black people so why you send your children there only because he is Rich and if you only like black people because they are rich then you are a Fake Stop saying you love him because you really don't

mandi   June 29th, 2009 4:36 pm ET

You guys need to stay out of the Jacksons's business and mind yoy guys own business you have a lot to go and take care of like you guys prejudice ways how about you guys stay out of Black People Business We don't need you guys sad sympathy because you guys never care about michael when he was alive why now he is dead Stay Out OF THE JACKSON'S BUSINESS clean up your own slate

Sylvie from Montreal Canada   June 29th, 2009 4:54 pm ET

Good afternoon Larry,

I have been watching CNN and your show as well and I am pretty upset at Joe Jackson . I think he should not be speaking in the Media because he is not making sense. His son is not even berried yet and he is promoting a record company and it is disturbing how he is using the spotlight in a moment like this. I saw Janet's speach at the BET awards and that was just perfect as Janet is more a sensitive person just like her brother. I think it is very shameful on Mr Joe Jackson's part to talk about a record company in a time like this.

I truly feel for Micheal's children hoping they will not be used as there father was. I hope someone will stand up for them and keep them safe.

Alot of people think that Micheal was not normal but in my honest opinion I think he was more normal than most people. I don't think Micheal had one bit of evil in him and it is a shame that he had to go at such a young age. One thing I do agree with what his father said
and I quote .

Micheal was not so sudden if we really think about it . The accumulation of negativity during the final years of his life contributed largely to his heart failure. Sadness loneliness can kill someone who is already fragile in many ways.

He will live on forever through his music and his art and hopefully his goodness of heart will also continue to shine through and inspire people to be as generous as he was for his fellows and all the people he came close too through his life not only as an artist but as a human beeing as well.

Micheal may you rest in peace !!
God bless you ....

Sylvie from Montreal Canada   June 29th, 2009 5:02 pm ET

This quote should have been in the previous text ....

One thing I do agree with what his father said
and I quote
Yes Mr Jackson that is the one thing you said that made sense since his passing ....

Allen   June 29th, 2009 5:07 pm ET

I know the difficulties for the family to lose a loved one. In honoring our "National Treasure" I think it would be fitting to allow Michael to tour the world one last time. The horse drawn carriage that would carry him and allow the King of Pop to serenade his fans one last time. As difficult and unrealistic as this may sound, I pray the family would allow Michael one last posthumous tour. I believe many countries would open the streets of their major city to allow Michael to Heavenwalk one last time before being laid to rest. This would give the world a true picture of his impact, contribution, love and connection to the many who may have never seen him. I know this is difficult decision for the family but it would be vindication to Michael from the many naysayers who will flood the media airwaves in the coming months to bring out the tarnish life they are trying to convince so many he had.

We all know the tour by train that Abe Lincoln did across the country. Now we see the many countries who even today are still mourning his death. He deserves one last triumph. For we are not of flesh and blood but of spirit. His body was his shell but his spirit is what moved every last one of us. No one has ever been loved or has touched so many like Michael. Not even Princess Diana.

He is OUR National Treasure and there will be no other like him to come...not with this kind of impact....Period!

In Respect,
Allen

gladys farrell toronto, canada   June 29th, 2009 5:26 pm ET

i have been following yr great in depth coverage of michael jacson.
now it is no s3ecret that michael has spoken for yrs of abuse by his father. why in the world wld his mother get temporary guardianship of the children. does the father not live in the same house.

Tiffany Hicks   June 29th, 2009 5:34 pm ET

Michael, you will be missed very much by all your fans, family, and friends. Ever since you died I've been watching your interviews and videos non stop and I can't stop crying but I do feel closer to you. I liked the fact that you always had a sense of humor and it was contagious to anybody that was around you. I wish I could have got the chance to meet you before you died. Despite all the garbage the tabloids said about you, your true fans never believed any of it and you were always loved. Nobody can compare to you or your music and I was and still am a big fan of your music. Rest In Peace.

Yin   June 29th, 2009 5:42 pm ET

This early morning I saw the Geraldo At Large and senior correspondent on FOX News Channel. Please Watch his latest show. MJ didn't not die on accident. Geraldo and his Guest hosts made sense, He might of been murdered by his latest concert planner due to the ins reinbursements over the coverage. Please use your power to define the true cuase of his death. Life is pricious!

Wayne   June 29th, 2009 6:21 pm ET

ENOUGH ALREADY! Did I miss something? When did the "gloved one" win the Nobel Peace Prize, cure cancer, broker a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians? He did nothing but sing, dance, allegedly molest young boys, and yet this coverage would tend to indicate that he was at least the equal of Jesus Christ, Mother Theresa, a president of the United States or a world hero. No wonder young people have no idea of what is really important!

Chuck   June 29th, 2009 6:31 pm ET

There is plenty of time for speculation after a few days. There is also plenty of time for promoting new record labels after a few days. After a few days Micheal Jackson will be put into his final resting place. A little
dignity should be shown for Micheals memory even if it only last a few days!!

Jean   June 29th, 2009 6:35 pm ET

Hi Larry,

Wow! Just watched the BET Awards and more upsetting than Joe Jackson schmoozing on the Red Carpet was the comment that Jamie Foxx made at the head of the show. Michael Jackson belonged to the black community and "we" shared him. Did Elvis Presley or The Beatles only belong to white people? I thought it was all about the music and how many people he reached and touched with a song for every event in their life.
Michael belongs to posterity. He transcended mediocrity. He said it himself with "It doesn't matter if you're black or white" or with "Ebony and Ivory. Regardless of everything else in his life, his genius is his legacy

Tynthia Jones   June 29th, 2009 7:13 pm ET

To say that I loved Michael is simply not enough. He was and stll is a part of my very being. My heart is so heavy and full of pain; not for myself only but for his dear children, his loved ones and all his fans world wide.

But I have a questine concerning all this. Where was the nanny durning all this? Was she currently employed by Jackson at the time of his death?
Have the police talked to her yet?

Thomas Brady   June 29th, 2009 9:34 pm ET

The attorney is interesting – but – a question noone has asked – did the doctor breathe for Michael in addition to CPR? Someone performing CPR in a bed may not have a clue how it should be done...

Joyce   June 29th, 2009 9:41 pm ET

My prayers are with Michael Jackson's childrens and his family especially his mother. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Murray four years ago when he performed life surgery on my Mom which enabled her to live and welcome her first great-great grandchild. My family will be forever grateful to Dr. Murray for his excellence after care and concern for her and for us her family.

Sherry Wilbourn   June 29th, 2009 9:46 pm ET

CNN reported and showed documents that the doctor that attorney keeps referring to as a cardiologist, has no credentials in cardiology or internal medicine. He is a general practioner. I saw it at six this evening , the showed his diploma.

Connie Clark   June 29th, 2009 9:47 pm ET

I love and respect all that Michael stood for – he was without and doubt THE KING OF POP! There is no way that he ever treated children unkindly, I will never believe that ever.

Mr. Joe Jackson: You are a pig for what you did to Michael and how you capitalized on his childhood and still are before he has even been buried, I hope you rot in HELL!

RIP Michael, you will be missed forever but not forgotten!!!

penelope caceres   June 29th, 2009 10:30 pm ET

i have always loved michael i remmber when i was a teen and we had home partys we would play his songs , michael iLOVEyou and your love will still be here on earth .you have given us so much so now we are all given bach to you all the the love you all ways wanted may you be at rest now ,for one day we will be together. bye michael till we meet again.

FRIDA   June 30th, 2009 1:24 am ET

HOW DARE YOU DISECT THE LIVE OF A MAN LIKE YOU DISECT AN EXOTIC INSECT HAVE SOME RESPECT AND LET DOSE HOW LOVE AND RESPECT MIKEL JACKSON MORN HE DEPARTURE. HAVE SOME RESPECT CNN.

lisa p   June 30th, 2009 1:48 am ET

Jamie Foxx is a real hypocrite. Where was he when the media and hundreds of other entertainers vilified Michael Jackson during his time of trouble? And by the way Jamie, you didn't share Michael with us , you had nothing to do with his talent nor his success, so how dare you presume to speak for him when he shared himself with others. We know he was a black man, but we also know that he was far from prejudiced, he had three white kids and two white wives. Do not belittle his memory by playing racial games and let Michael's legacy, not yours, live on.

Minhaj Ahmed   June 30th, 2009 5:45 am ET

I consider myself lucky to live through an era where I had the luck to see Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson will always be in our heart. His songs inspired us. No one can overcome his fame. This is for sure.

Emily   June 30th, 2009 6:48 am ET

Michael Jackson untill his death was a legend and I pray his family will be able to cope with his death.

KR   June 30th, 2009 10:31 am ET

Amazing how all the African Americans praise Michael.
He bleached his skin, changed his face, married two white gals,
had a white serrogate.WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!!!!!
Who knows if these kids are truly his.According to Debbie Rowe he was NOT the Daddy! Look at them.
Should be Olive tone in skin and no African American features.Hello!
Michael Jackson wanted to be WHITE!
Let him rest in peace and go on...

Sonia   June 30th, 2009 5:31 pm ET

I'll start by saying no mother should ever have to bury a child. My heart goes out to the Jackson family, especially his kids and mother. His mother stood by him all the time, also the only Jackson to be by Michael during his hardship at the molestation trial. It must be hard for this mother and kids to hear all the horrible things the media is saying about him. After all he is a son and a father to those children. Can you imagine how horrible you would feel if the media called your son or father Wacko Jacko....terrible.
Can the media not leave the poor children alone. At a time when the children have had the world pulled out from under them, lost their father, the man they loved, they are questioning their paternity?? This is something that the children should hear from their family, not from the media. Is there no sense of feeling sad for these children. It sickens me how some media takes full advantage of situtions and exploits people, even children if it has to do with MJ.
Who cares who the parents are! Even if the parents do come forward would it be in the best interest of the children?? Of course not, it would be just for the money. Leave these kids alone and let them grieve properly and continue to love their father.

Thank You
Sonia

Jake   June 30th, 2009 7:33 pm ET

I will Miss Michael Jackson alot. I was looking forward to his great comback. My best memory of him was when I saw Michael on stage singing the song (Ben )it brought chills down my neck. There seams to be a connection with other entertainers that I miss alot. Like Marilyn, Elvis James Dean they seam to have it all,but they were very sad and lonley at the end. Makes me sad because they have given so much to the world and they have given me so much joy. Hope to see you all in Heaven. Jake

charles   June 30th, 2009 9:13 pm ET

Please stop comparing Michael Jackson to Elvis and the Beatles...There will never be any comparison...Michael Jackson's popularity and music has surpassed all other musicians in the past and future....

Denise Caume   June 30th, 2009 9:15 pm ET

I can remember as a young girl feeling so sad and just heartbroken about Elvis dying. Now the feeling has been Amplified with the passing of Michael Jackson. Just Heartbroken and Very Sad!

Diana   June 30th, 2009 9:16 pm ET

I Love Michael Jackson you will be missed, the media need to mine there own business. Your the greatest, best to the family. Rest in peace Michael.....your im my heart foreer.

Diana   June 30th, 2009 9:18 pm ET

Michael your in my heart forever.

Melinda   June 30th, 2009 9:19 pm ET

Rest in Peace Michael!! You will forever be in our hearts. He has had a hard life in this world but was very strong on the inside. He was a true inspritation to all of us weather you want to belive it or not. He will be forever THE KING! We have ALL learned a lesson from Micheal Jackson. Rest in Peace Micheal!! We LOVE YOU! Your music will be forever alive down here!!!!

Sage Moore   June 30th, 2009 9:21 pm ET

I feel that the memorial should be held at the Neverland Home, that's where he lived for a long time. Enough with all this negative press, the media is really outrageous with this and I believe if he was a White man, it wouldn't be the negative press. Michael Jackson is and always will be the Greatest Of All Time – The King Of Pop. Luv u, Michael Jackson

Ricky Bibeau   June 30th, 2009 9:23 pm ET

Elvis was our grandparents generation, John Lennon was our parents generation...Michael Jackson is ALL of our generations....forever........

Melinda   June 30th, 2009 9:28 pm ET

Micheal is now singing with the angels and watching over each of his fans. When it rains we will know that Micheal is trying to tell us to play his music and smile. We is in all of our hearts!

And with the RUMORS it has got to STOP!! He has children and we need to help show those children what a great , singer, friend, and true inspration their father was to all of us. He changed many people's lives and that needs to be carried on to his children. His children need to know what a GREAT MAN their father was!

Rest in Peace Michael we love you.

Ajani   June 30th, 2009 9:28 pm ET

No one changed the music industry like how he did.

Melinda   June 30th, 2009 9:33 pm ET

These attorneys and doctor;'s I just dont get it.. I have been following CNN everyday since Micheal passed away. It just seems like something just isn't right...... and I just don't belive that doctor that was with him.. I mean he waited 30 mins to call 911?? and he had a CELLPHONE with him the whole time!! EVERYONE know's you MUST do CPR on the floor NOT the bed! I just think Micheal could of been saved if the right precautions would of been done.......... Micheal didn't feel loved. he needed a specail women in his life and he didn't have that.......... and if his family knew that he was in trouble they should of worked alot harder to reach out to Micheal just like I would my children............

Lisa from Tennessee   June 30th, 2009 9:34 pm ET

SHAME ON YOU CNN!!! Please stop bringing people on to give their negative opinions and personal stories which are unable to be proven to be factual. What IS able to be proven is that Michael Jackson treated this world to a form of entertainment that has not been and cannot be matched!!! Please have respect for the fact that Michael Jackson was a human being who has left behind a family which includes THREE CHILDREN!

I'M LOSING RESPECT FOR CNN! This kind of reporting (as exhibited on Campbell Brown tonight) is COMPLETELY UNCALLED FOR!!!!

melissa   June 30th, 2009 9:35 pm ET

a giving and kind human.long live the King!!

melissa   June 30th, 2009 9:36 pm ET

MJ an icon and legend you are . RIP

Melinda   June 30th, 2009 9:40 pm ET

That was the best decsion so far to have his furneal at the Ranch... that is where he belongs.... And we thank that family for letting us be a part of it.........

Melinda   June 30th, 2009 9:44 pm ET

Where were all these people that seem to think they know Micheal and his feelings when he was alive??????????????? Why do you people get on TV and act like you were just so close to Micheal???? He needed LOVED when he was ALIVE not when he is gone!!!!! MAKES NO SENSE!!

And I still say... that doctor SMELLS!!

Christine   June 30th, 2009 10:01 pm ET

MY Thoughts & Prayers Are With His Family. His Music Legacy Will Forever Live On.

ify   June 30th, 2009 10:06 pm ET

This whole thing about Micheal and drugs was started the day he died by the so called former family attorney Brain Oxman. Shame on him for starting such a rumour.

Larry, you don't want people to focus on how wrong it is for a nurse to share medical information...is that why you didn't print my other blog?

Maureen   June 30th, 2009 11:08 pm ET

Michael Jackson tied to teach us things in his music. We should really listen to his lyrics. He was a Musical Genius!!! God Bless Michael

Mae   June 30th, 2009 11:43 pm ET

I've quit watching Larry King and most of the news coverage this past week. The only news seems to be about the death and life of Michael Jackson. I don't need to hear the same things about his death over and over or hear all the stories of anyone who came within 100 feet of him. Space aliens could have invaded the planet this past week and CNN would have missed the story because the only thing they have been interested in reporting is the death of Michael Jackson, and scouring the gutters for any scrap of gossip about him that they could speculate on. Get back to the job of reporting all the news and let Michael Jackson rest in peace.

david rich   July 1st, 2009 12:20 am ET

The realll question remain to be asked:who could want micheal dead?
He tried to comeback two yrs ago with a new album....he got arrested the week the album cameout. which messup the sales of the new album.
The second time he planned to comeback ...he's pronounce dead.
I think its a nice plott ....just the way diana was killed.know trace, but we all know allover the world that the royal house dislike her for her actions.
Who could be the prime suspect here ?????? for me i think tommy motola should be checked out for this.

Sandy   July 1st, 2009 12:26 am ET

God gave Michael a great gift which he shared with ALL. He sacrificed his childhood, teen years, and young adulthood so we can enjoy his song and dance...and for that I thank him. From Heaven above, he will now know how much the world loved him and I think that was really all he was looking for...may God rest your sweet gentle soul.

Sandy

Karlene Segre, Jamaica   July 1st, 2009 12:32 am ET

Larry!
Stop talking to that nurse...she is 'fishy,' for his staffers to call her after 3 months according to her with medical complaints is absurd! she must have been an enabler.

david rich   July 1st, 2009 12:34 am ET

who could want mj dead???????????????

Alicia   July 1st, 2009 12:39 am ET

Michael has passed, he was a private person...respect and have a heart..he has family

Alicia   July 1st, 2009 12:41 am ET

Yeah that nurse is nothing but a golddigger

lisa   July 1st, 2009 1:03 am ET

you know what, the saddest thing is MJ never get a break even after his death. oh my! leave him alone.leave his kids alone leave his family alone.leave the mother alone. my heart goes to her. Cruel media takes advantage of the apportunity. leave him alone wait at least he is at his final resting place.

my my my people let the family have a proper mourning time.and the people who are coming forward on tv and saying how great he was ... where were they when he was going through trials and troubles. enough is enough if you really love him and help him. ha....say some thing good and protect his and his childrens interest.that is the best you can do...
RIP Michael.

lisa   July 1st, 2009 1:14 am ET

waht is done is done. he is dead he will not come back again .all we can do is protect his interest. and we can do it if we want.
poor MJ he never gets a break. hard life started from 5 years of age till he is 50 and died poor him. how unfair could the world be.
let the kids be given to the grandmother ,but with serious warning that Joe jackson will never get close to them. pls dont give them to the so called biological mother.Debbie the junkie, cant be qualified to be a moher.who gives parental previlage.and leave them alone.let them have a normal life that they never had.
that is what MJ wants us to do.
if we really love him let us do this.

brian buckner   July 7th, 2009 10:03 pm ET

Ever so often God sends down HIS Angel Michael down to humanity to teach them about HIS infinite love, but before humanity recognizes the presence of the The Angel Michael in human form, God calls him back to the Kingdom.
We love you Mika-EL
